Chapter 37: Hunting the Hunter

(Nottingham, England)

'How is the plan going?' The original asked.

The time when he had to rejoin the original had not yet approached and he had no desire to be absorbed yet, so they used the telepathic link to talk. He had been given the option of staying on the Halliwell farm while staying in the city but had declined. He felt better staying here. There was less chance of his plans being overheard and if Patty decided to spy on him, he could see her. It would not be the same if he stayed at their farm where Penny could cast spells that let her overhear him.

'I have created another duplicate that is currently in Kleak explaining the situation to the Stillman sisters.' Danny thought back.

He had them under watch and ordered his Jaffa to notify him the moment that they woke up.

'Are you going to activate their A.T.A. gene?' The original asked.

'I have given my word to Patty and Penny that I would awaken the Halliwell sister's abilities the moment that they returned with me to Scotland.' Danny thought.

It was then that they would begin their training as they had plenty of ancestors on the Other Side to teach them. They wanted to make sure that the sisters could defend themselves since his basis for taking them was that they would be in constant danger.

'Do you have any idea what their powers might be?' The original asked.

'I have Qetsiyah looking into it. She is going through the memories of their ancestors to see what abilities they had when they were alive.' Danny thought back.

'Are you going to use the Halliwell sisters to try and access the caves or are you going to go with the Stillman sisters?' The original asked.

'I have decided that I want it to be the Stillman sisters that come with me to Roeun.' Danny thought back.

'Why them?' The original asked.

'From what I learned from other sources the Stillman sisters are the less intelligent group of sisters. Also, they are the group that I have already infected with Nish'ta.' Danny thought.

'Alright I can understand that reasoning. Now how are you going to inject the Nish'ta into the Halliwell sisters?' The original asked.

Leaving them with complete free will was never going to be an option. If he is going to build a coven for the original, then they needed to be people the original could trust.

'I plan on infecting the oldest sister first and then get the other two when they step on the Al'kesh.' Danny thought back.

They would never expect such a thing coming from Prue.

'Have you learned what kind of traps are waiting for you in the caves?' The original asked.

'It seems that most of the traps are designed to keep the baseline humans from reaching the secrets of the cave if they somehow make it past the barrier.' Danny thought back.

'Make sure that whatever happens that you do not destroy the cave.' The original thought.

'I understand.' Danny thought back.

'How is the boat?' The original asked.

"Chandri say that it is ready and fully stocked.' Danny thought back.

'Good. Make sure everything is prepared before you leave. I want a record if something happens to you.' The original thought to him.

'It seemed that someone wants to talk to me.' Danny thought to the original as he could hear the contact orb activate.

'Very well. You know my desires.' The original thought cutting the connection.

He summoned the orb to float above his desk and watched as the hologram took form.

"Is something the matter Victor?" Danny asked.

"My daughters' bags have been packed but they are not ready to leave." Victor said.

"What is holding them back?" Danny asked.

They had to be able to understand the danger they were in. From the people he had talked to the sisters were not lacking in sense.

"They want to talk to you." Victor said.

"Alright. Where are you right now?" Danny asked.

"We are at the farm." Victor said.

"Not what I meant." Danny said but it was good enough, so he used both telescopic and x-ray vision to look at the Halliwell farm. He found Victor is sitting in his office." Alright I will be on my way." He put the contact orb down and teleported to the Halliwell farm.

"I had no idea that you could move that fast." Victor said once he got over the shock.

"I am full of surprises. What do the sisters want to talk to me about?" Danny asked as he looked around.

The first thing he noticed is the huge painting of Victor's family. Besides that, there were bookshelves with topics about animals, the world, mythology, and the like.

"I explained the situation, but they are having trouble understanding the situation." Victor said.

"Very well. Gather the girls in the living room and we can talk, and I can answer their questions" Danny said.

"I heard that you wanted to talk to me." Danny said as he walked through the doors and stood before the Halliwell sisters going over what he knew about them

Prue is twenty-one-years old. The oldest and most opinionated of the three sisters. She had dark black hair that reached down to her back. When a situation became a problem, she is the one to take charge and lead her sisters.

Piper Halliwell is eighteen years old. Piper had long straight brown hair that was turning darker by the day. One day it would be a deep black like her sister. She is the sister that keeps the peace between the other two when they begin to fight. She is slow to anger but when she reaches that point her family members knew to avoid her.

Phoebe Halliwell is sixteen years old. Her hair was a luscious and short brown that reached her neck. She is similar to Kenna in that she is a free spirit and wanted to see the world.

"Yes. First of all, who do you think you are?" Prue asked him as she stood up from the couch.

"What do you mean exactly?" Danny asked.

"You come out of nowhere and tell our father that we are in danger and need to go with you." Prue said.

"From the man that I am going to marry." Piper said moving from her spot on the couch.

"I told him that you are in danger because you are, and it would be better for everyone if you came with me." Danny said.

"Do you have any idea how crazy this all is?" Piper asked as she extended her arms.

He had to admit that he is glad that their A.T.A. gene is still bound. With the way that these two are feeling it is more than likely that their powers would go out of control, and he would not have a random power activate while he is in the room.

"Witches have had poor relations with mortals for a long time. It is why your mother tried to hide all talk of her and your abilities." Danny said.

"Like that. You all talk of magic and witches like it is normal. Do you have any idea of what it is like to wake up one day and find out that you and your sisters are witches? That your grandmother is a witch? That your mother was a witch?" Phoebe asked.

"I will make it simple for the three of you. The man that is courting your sister is an evil witch who is planning on corrupting Piper and more than likely killing the rest of this family." Danny said as he apported a small robotic insect into the room and behind Prue.

"What proof do you have?" Piper asked him.

He could feel her disbelief and anger at him but beneath that there is a hint of fear that he is telling the truth and that her family is in grave danger.

"I learned about this threat from your mother. I doubt that she would come to me if she did not think that the threat is real." Danny said.

"Our mother is dead." Phoebe said.

"That is one of the great gifts of our people. Just because a person dies it does not mean that they are gone forever. When a witch dies, they end up with all of their ancestors on the Other Side and continue to watch over those they loved." Danny said.

"You mean if we became witches, we would be able to see her again?" Phoebe asked.

He could feel the hope in her voice without his powers.

"Yes, once you activate your powers and start learning you will be able to contact your mother whenever you wish." Danny answered her.

He did not mind creating a device for them to talk to her right now, but it would give them something to work towards. He knew that Phoebe would probably work the hardest with that goal.

"Do you have any idea what it is like to have all of this dropped on you randomly?" Prue asked.

"I will admit that my circumstances were different from yours. When I was a kid, it was natural for us to have those abilities." Danny said thinking back to when he had still lived with this universe's version of his family.

He remembered the night where the adults had used their powers to project images of the stars, the adventures they experienced as they traveled, and the worlds they had terraformed and filled with life. Though he did have an offer that he thought might help. "Luckily, I have another group of sisters living with me who are going through what you are. You can talk to them if you want."

"Really?" Phoebe asked.

"Yes, their family descends from the same coven as yours." Danny said.

"And it is just a big coincidence that you found them at the same time that you found us?" Piper asked.

"I learned about you first then I made sure that the people targeting you could not use anyone else. It was through that search that I found them." Danny said.

"You have to understand that we are not going to leave our father behind." Prue said.

"You are going to have to. I have made a promise with your family that I will deal with Jeremy. The moment that I have fulfilled my promise I am going to go back to Scotland. If you stick around after that there is a high chance that his brothers are going to come and hunt you down for revenge." Danny said.

He knew that Prue might want to fight. She was headstrong due to basically being in charge of her family's farm. The twenty-one-year-old witch probably thought she could handle it, but he also knew that she would not want to risk her sisters lives on her gambit.

"You still have not given us any proof that you can do what you claim. Or that Jeremy has negative intentions for us." Prue said.

"You want a demonstration of my power? Very well." Danny said as he opened is hand and created a ball of light.

"How are you doing that?" Phoebe asked as she looked at the ball.

"How do you think? It's one of my gifts." Danny said with a smile.

"Do we have gifts like that?" Phoebe asked.

Danny could feel her wonder and hope. Out of the three sisters he could tell that she is the most interested in their family history and the potential that they have.

"You should but I am still doing research on what you could have when you awaken your abilities." Danny said.

"Are you not afraid of God's wrath? Of going to hell when you die?" Prue asked.

"He has yet to strike me down. Why? Are you worried about being struck down by lighting?" Danny asked with a smile on his face.

"I have grown up in a Catholic city in a time where if you were a heretic, you would be burned by the queen." Prue said.

"Very well I won't tease you about this but that is another reason why you must come with me. If we activate your gifts, there is a chance someone could find out and the people of this land have proven to hate our kind." Danny said. "Back in King Uther's time the merest hint of the gift was met with execution."

"What does it do?" Prue asked looking at the light.

"I can do many things with it." Danny said and as an example used it to draw in all light in the room making it seem as if a small dome of Vantablack had descended on the trio.

Even if they looked at their hands in front of them, they would not be able to see it.

"I can't see anything." Prue said proving his point.

It was the perfect moment for the mechanical bug that had been waiting to fly to Prue's hand and injected her with Nish'ta.

"Oh no." Prue said.

"What's the matter?' Danny asked as he caused the darkness to vanish and return the room to normal.

"Something just bit me." Prue said looking at her hand with horror.

Given how her mother died she had to be worried.

"Don't worry I can heal it." Danny said as he placed his hand atop of hers and caused the injury to go away. "There you are perfectly fine."

"Thak you." Prue said as she took her hand back.

He could tell that the Nish'ta had taken affect and was spreading through her bloodstream. Her feelings for him are changing from annoyance to grateful and honored.

"I know that the three of you are hesitant to come with me, but it is the best interest of both your family and this city." Danny said looking at each of them.

"If we have no other choice." Prue said.

"Prue?" Piper asked in a shocked tone of voice.

"It seems like all our other options are horrible Piper." Prue said.

"Phoebe?" Piper asked turning to her other sister.

"I don't usually say this, but I agree with Prue." Phoebe said.

"Piper?" Danny asked as he looked at the middle sister.

"It seems that I have been outvoted." Piper said.

She is feeling resigned but not willing to leave her sisters alone. She would feel better with time especially when her mother talked with her.

"Alright then we are in agreement. My ship is waiting Your stuff has already been taken." Danny said as he teleported them to the backyard.

"That was so amazing." Phoebe said in awe.

"Another one of your gifts?" Prue asked.

He would have liked to focus on their awe, but the other sister demanded his attention.

"Are you okay Piper?" Danny asked looking at the sister that is standing still and feeling like her world is collapsing in on herself.

"No, I am not." Piper said as she started backing away from them. "I can't do this."

"It will be okay Piper." Prue said as she pulled her younger sister into a hug.

"Everything will be alright. You sisters have each other and as a recent friend of mine believed Family is a power that few can challenge." Danny said.

"Where is this carriage of yours?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't travel by carriage." Danny said as the Tel'tak moved below the clouds revealing itself to the sisters.

He had already given Victor a holographic projector that would cover the entire property. Nobody would notice the spaceship that was landing in their city.

"What is that?" Piper asked as she looked at the Tel'tak.

"This is one of my ships. It is what is taking us back to Scotland." Danny said.

Again, he felt their irritation at going to Scotland but like everything else that had happened they would accept it if it meant that they could get what they wanted.

"Form a group." Danny said to the sisters.

"Why?" Phoebe asked.

"So, you can be picked up by the transportation rings. You can hold each other's hands to help get rid of the nerves." Danny said.

The sisters walked to each curious about what was going to happen.

"What about you?" Prue asked.

"I still have something to deal with in the city." Danny lied as he watched them begin to glow and ascend to the ship.

"Is he still on the way?" Danny asked Patty who was looking at the ship flying her daughters away. Now that he had the Halliwell sisters travelling to Scotland it was time to go after Jeremy.

"He is on his way here." Patty said projecting the image into his mind.

'I love when things work out.' Danny thought to himself before teleporting to the road that led to Nottingham.

0-0-0-0-0-0

He could hear the carriage approaching but given how far he could hear he knew the horses would not arrive at this spot for twenty more minutes. That was more than enough time for him to finish getting ready.

"What is your plan when he arrives?" Patty asked him. "I doubt that he is going to let you inject him with the sedative if you ask nicely."

"I plan to act if I am a simple thief threatening him for money. When he comes out of the carriage, I plan to knock out the driver and inject him with the sedative." Danny said as he placed his hand on the ground and created a giant wall that would prevent people from continuing past him.

"You are very strong." Patty said as she looked at his wall.

"I like to think so." Danny said as he raised his hand to the rock wall and transmuted a portion into an iron tipped spear.

"He will probably try to kill you the moment he comes out of the carriage." Patty said.

"You told me that his dangerous powers were likely to be either energy projection or fireballs, correct?" Danny asked as he started twirling his spear and swinging at his imagined enemy.

"Yes, but he could have other powers that he may have stolen from other witches he has killed." Patty said.

The reason that witches like Jeremy hunted their own kind was because when they killed the witch, they took the powers that they had for themselves. It was a way to increase their power without having to rely on other sources or waste time chanting words.

"The mystery is what will make it fun." Danny said with a smile on his face.

"Is your original as reckless as you are?' Patty asked.

"Of course not. That is why he creates us." Danny said as he slammed the butt of his spear on the ground.

This would be the first if not only fight of his life and so he wanted to enjoy it.

"Move out of the way!" The man driving atop the carriage shouted.

'Be grateful that I am just putting you to sleep.' Danny thought as his eyes glowed.

He watched as the man eyes started drooping and his grip on the reigns slacked. A second later and he fell against the box he had been moving.

"Come out Jeremy Rowe!" Danny shouted before he thrusted his spear through the carriage. It did not hit Jeremy as the moment he became aware of the spear he blinked out of the carriage and crashed into his barrier.

He had hoped that would happen.

"You can't teleport too far. If you try you are just going to crash into a wall. The only way this field is going down is when I leave with you tied up and incapacitated." Danny said pulling the spear back from the carriage.

"Who are you?" Jeremy asked.

"I am King Daniel of Dinai and I am here to capture you." Danny said.

"What have I done that deserves this?" Jeremy asked.

"Don't act innocent. Consider this fight divine retribution. The goddess Nirrtii has decided your Karma has fallen into the black and that you deserve punishment." Danny said pointing the spear at him. "I am her instrument of justice and the architect of your punishment."

"I have no care for what your goddess believes. Is this about revenge? Have I hurt someone close to you by chance?" Jeremy asked with a smile on his face.

"I have no doubt that you have hurt many people but no. This is not about revenge. You are targeting the Halliwell sisters, and I have made a deal to protect them." Danny said as he shifted into a stance.

"Then you can die with regret for failing both the sisters and your goddess because no one will stand in my way." Jeremy said as an energy ball formed in his hand and threw it where he is standing.

"It's good to have dreams but all you are going to find when you wake up is a living nightmare." Danny said as he telekinetically moved it to crash into the barrier.

He then used his powers to punch Jeremy in the face with a telekinetic punch.

It shifted his head to the side.

"Nice power. I am going to enjoy stealing it from you." Jermey said as he rubbed his jaw.

The next second Jeremy began to blur as he ran at him.

'Superspeed too?' Danny thought as he grabbed Jeremy's outstretched hand that was reaching for his neck with his left and punched him in the stomach with his right.

"You will pay for that." Jeremy said from the ground with a glare.

"You aren't the first to say that and I doubt you will be the last." Danny said as he hit Jeremy with his knee that caused him to float upwards to the top of the barrier.

Danny flew up to the top of the barrier and watched as Jeremy began to fall to the floor.

He held him in place with telekinesis and started to flip into a kick that met with Jeremy's unprotected stomach and sent him crashing to the ground. "I bet that hurt."

Jeremy should be glad that his abilities made him sturdier than normal people. If a normal person had either been kicked that hard or crashed into the ground like that then they would either be in a coma or dead.

"How long are you going to play with him?" Patty asked.

"Until I probably get bored." Danny said as he floated to the ground. "You should probably feel pretty happy about this. This guy planned on kidnapping your daughter and murdering your family."

"I don't find pleasure in torture regardless of whether the person deserved it or not." Patty said.

Jeremy opened his eyes with a glare. He raised his hand to the ceiling and a tornado grew from it that enveloped the closed area. "Die!." A wave of wind flew from his hand in a crescent that carved into the rock wall.

A few seconds later the rock wall was restored. It was a precaution to make sure Jeremy did not try to destroy it.

"You are going to have to do better than that." Danny said as he teleported in front of Jeremy and tried to punch him in the face.

Jeremy saw the fist coming and blinked out of the way. This time he knew the distance he could move without crashing and moved so that the two of them were a distance from each other.

"You trying to gain some distance will make no difference to me." Danny said as he fired an energy blast that destroyed the carriage and reached the barrier wall.

He knew that Jeremy had blinked out of the way again. He jumped into the air the moment he felt him appear behind him with a hand covered in sharp wind that could probably slice a mountain to pieces.

"You won't get away from me!" Jeremy growled as he raised his arms and created a giant tornado.

'This is impressive.' Danny thought as he formed a full body shield to protect him from the strong wind that was sucking everything into it and shattering them into small pieces.

It would do nothing to the original, but he did not have that much power.

"Not bad for an infant but I am just disappointed. Is this the best you have?" Danny taunted him. "People were actually worried that you were a legitimate threat to the Halliwell sisters. I am glad to show that we have proved them wrong."

He used telepathy to make sure that he heard every word.

"I am no disappointment." Jeremy said even angrier than before and set the tornado on fire with pyrokinesis. "How do you like this?"

'I must have hit a nerve." Danny thought with a smile as he watched the flames rage and burn.

He also noticed how dangerous this could be. For all of their power he still needed to breath and in an enclosed space they would faint when all the oxygen burned up. Even though he could not see the man he could feel where he was due to the hate he was giving off. Even if he closed his eyes and stopped listening to the man yelling, he would have been able to tell where he was.

"I think you are still going to be in a world of pain." Danny said as he appeared behind him and hit him with a telekinetic covered punch to the face while sweeping his legs out from under him.

"No matter what you do to me my brothers will hunt you down and avenge me." Jeremy said while glaring at him.

"I have no doubt that they will try but they are going to learn just as you will that messing with me tends to end horribly." Danny said as he apported the sedative from the Inn and into his hand.

"What is that?" Jeremy asked.

"Don't worry. You are just going to take a little nap." Danny said as he injected the sedative into the man's neck.
