Chapter 40: Destiny is All
(Bamburgh, England, June 1559)
"Who are you? Why are you here?" a guard asked drawing a sword.
"I wanted a moment to appreciate the history of this castle." Danny answered as he turned away from the beach and forest to the man interrupting his thoughts.
This castle had served as a home to Uthred of Bebbenburg back before England had been formed. The man had lost his home as a child and spent years fighting for King Alfred and his son Edward to finally regain what the Danes had taken from him on one of their raids. Now the castle and the land belonged to the Baratheons.
Not for much longer though.
"Put your hands up and surrender peacefully." The guard said. "We will place you in a cell so that you can Lord Baratheon how much you appreciate the history of this castle."
"You would have lived longer if you had just walked away." Danny said pulling out his sword.
He grabbed the sword with his right hand and ran towards the guard and slashed through both his sword and armor.
"May you have better luck wherever you end up next."
"What is going on?" another guard asked coming around the tower wall.
"You guards are having a very bad day." Danny said using telekinesis to toss him outside the castle and into the water.
Hopefully he knew how to swim.
"Intruder!" a voice shouted out and the clanging of bells rang throughout the castle.
'Looks like they know that I am here.' Danny thought to himself as he jumped off of the ramparts and into the castle yard.
"Halt." an older guard said with a sword in hand.
"I don't think so." Danny said taking the information out of Cortnay Penrose about the layout of the castle and the people living in it.
"You are in my head." Cortnay said.
"Yes, I am and thank you. The information you have provided has been useful." Danny said as he left the castellan of Bamburgh's mind and moved inside the castle towards the rooms that Robert Baratheon slept in.
He and his wife Cersei slept in different rooms. That did not bother Robert much as he had a different whore in that bed almost every month.
He was walking through the castle when he ran into Robert Baratheon's eldest son by Cersei.
"Who are you?" Joffrey asked in an annoyed tone.
According to Cortnay's memories Joffrey was a disturbed child and in Danny's opinion was likely to grow up into a horrible monster when he became an adult. He loved tormenting his siblings in ways that went beyond normal siblings playing around, He skinned animals, and he was quick to anger.
"I am King Daniel." Danny said with a smile as his eyes glowed.
"The sorcerer." Joffrey said as he started moving backwards.
As if that would help the kid. Still, it was fun to know stories are being spread about him.
"Are you here to kidnap me?" Joffrey asked.
"No." Danny said as he walked towards the child.
"Are you going to hurt me?" Joffrey asked.
"I am not going to do that either. Though I am going to need your help." Danny said as he walked around the young noble.
"I will never help you." Joffrey said defiantly.
"You have little choice in the matter." Danny said as he pulled a container from his robes and tossed it at Joffrey.
He watched as Joffrey was wrapped up in foam that formed a net around him.
That would keep the guards busy.
"Let me go!" Joffrey yelled.
"Do not worry. Your guards will come to cut you free eventually." Danny said before he walked off.
Probably.
There was a chance that they would be too busy trying to find him to do so but if that was the case the net would dissolve in four hours. That was plenty of time for him to do what he needed. Especially since he knew that his target was in the room right in front of him.
He could also tell that the man was not alone.
"Who the hell do you think that you are?" Robert Baratheon asked as he turned from the whore he was with.
"I am King Daniel of Dinai." Danny said with a smile.
"What do you want?" Robert Baratheon asked.
"I want you to give me the castle." Danny said.
The original was still undecided what he wanted it for specifically. To keep it as a vacation home or give it to a Jaffa he deemed worthy of it.
"You are crazy." Robert Baratheon said.
"No. I am perfectly serious." Danny said as he pulled his sword out of the scabbard and floated it before Robert.
"What makes you think that I would give up my castle and my lands?" Robert asked.
"You assume that you have a choice." Danny said.
"You think that your threats scare me?" Robert asked.
"This is not a threat. This is a fact. This castle will be mine and if you do not give it to me, I will kill you and your wife. That is as a start. I will hunt down your brothers and kill them as well. For the children of yours that are useful I will have them marry my Jaffa. The ones that I can't find a use for I will put them to work in my mines." Danny said as the sword floated in front of Robert.
"You are a monster." Robert said.
"I am just a man. There are worse monsters out there than me if you really want to meet one." Danny said.
"Please don't kill me." The whore next to him said.
"Be smart Robert. You will not win this fight." Danny said.
"You will not threaten me in my own home. I will not give you this castle unless you pry it from my cold dead hands." Robert growled.
"Very well. Enjoy your life because the cause of your death will not be old age." Danny said as he teleported away to London.
It was time to keep his promise to Elizabeth of York.

"We are honored to greet you, King Daniel." Katherine said as she curtsied in front of him alongside of Pearl.
Pearl's daughter Anna was away at the moment spreading word about the curse that was on the Tudor line.
"Has everything gone according to plan?" Danny asked.
"Yes, the Queen and Robert Dudley have snuck off into the royal woods to have a picnic." Katherine said.
"Good. Now we can move to the next part of the plan." Danny said.
"What are you intending to do with the queen?" Katherine asked.
"Do you really care?" Danny asked.
"If I am involved in a plan, I like to know what it entails." Katherine said.
"We are going to kidnap the Queen and you are going to compel Robert to return home." Danny said.
"Do you have a story of where she is going ready or are you going to let chaos reign in England?" Katherine asked.
"I have a plan." Danny said as he extended his hand for her to take and teleported them to the royal woods.
He had a promise to keep.

"My King it seems that the woman is waking up." Kada said over the contact orb.
"Good to know. I will be talking with her." Danny said ending the call and shifting the connection to Elizabeth's cell.
"Hello Elizabeth." Danny said as he watched the woman wake up.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Queen Elizabeth asked as she rushed to stand up and look around.
"To answer your questions, I am King Daniel of Dinai and you are in a cell in one of my ships." Danny answered her.
"You are the sorcerer that has taken over France." Queen Elizabeth said.
"Yes. You are now being transported to a special village of mine." Danny said.
"What have you done to Robert?" Queen Elizabeth asked.
"Do not worry. Nothing serious has been done to him. He will be joining you soon." Danny said.
They were waiting to grab him later so that people could see Robert Dudley leaving court and not wonder any further.
Then court would spread word that the two of them agreed that two of them had gone to talk without fear of being overheard and the outcome was that they agreed she had to marry Prince Louis.
"You cannot dare think you can get away with holding the Queen of England hostage." Queen Elizabeth said.
"I do. In this case though no one has even noticed that you have been taken." Danny said.
"How is that possible?" Queen Elizabeth asked.
"It's because I have help." Danny said.
"Who has betrayed me? What have you offered?" Queen Elizabeth asked.
"It's not what you are thinking Queen Elizabeth, No one has betrayed you. Instead, they sent me here because they are worried about you." Danny said.
"Then they are cowards." Queen Elizabeth spat out.
"Something for you to think about later. Right now, I want to introduce you to the new Queen Elizabeth." Danny said as the replacement turned away from the window and came to look at the projection orb.
"Hello." Fake Queen Elizabeth said doing the princess wave.
"Who is that?" Queen Elizabeth asked.
"She is the one that will rule England from now on." Danny said.
"How did you make this imposter?" Queen Elizabeth asked. "What unholy abomination have you given my face?"
"That is rather uncalled for. You are going to hurt her feelings." Danny said. "She was a peasant from York. I had her kidnapped and altered to look like you."
He had taken the idea from Madame de Clermont.
He was doing something similar to Robert Dudley. He was just waiting until the man returned to his estate. The nanites that had been implanted in his food would alert the Jaffa when he arrived.
"People will figure out this is an imposter. My friends will know that this creature may have my appearance, but she is not me." Queen Elizabeth said.
"I have already thought of that too." Danny said.
While she was unconscious her memories were being scanned and recorded. They would be implanted into the replacement to the point she believed that she was Queen Elizabeth.
"I will not let you get away with this." Queen Elizabeth promised. "I will escape from whatever prison you would place me. I have survived my father's abandonment, my sister's manipulations and suspicion, and the doubts of my countrymen. I would survive this as well."
"Another promise kept." Danny said with a smile.

"Prince Louis?" Fake Queen Elizabeth asked as they approached the man in the training yard.
Danny was with her in disguise.
"Yes?" Prince Louis asked putting the sword down.
"I have a message for you." Danny said as he showed the box he was carrying.
"Leave it in my room." Prince Louis said.
"I was told to play it before you." Danny lied as he opened the box and brought out the projection cube. He pressed the button and a holographic version of the original appeared and the music started playing (1).
It's time to put on a show
Images formed out of the projection cube.
This is the end of the world you know
The cube showed images of Prince Louis' brother and his kingdom of Navarre.
Thought you could save them. Thought you could be their hero.
There was a statue of Louis holding the Sword of Damocles and Spear of Longinus.
It's over now. We both know
their silly faith won't help them anymore.
Around the statue were villagers and soldiers cheering.
They're burnt to dust just like those ships of yours
The images changed to the ships burning and sinking into the seas.
So, Bourbon prince trying to take on my army
The images changed to the army that Prince Louis and the others were trying to raise rushing at his.
Let's fight. It'll end easily.
Go ahead and try to beat me if you're able.

The Jaffa playing instruments sang that he was a pawn.
You dare defy the power of a True king?
The Jaffa repeated the lines Real King.

The cube projected an image of the Kingdom of Navarre broken and its people pleading for their lives in fear and terror.
Everything you love will turn to ashes

The images changed to a image of him ordering his Jaffa to march forwards.
This world of yours is crumbling

and pretty soon you'll go down with it.
The image changed to show the prince about to be beheaded by the Sword of Telchak.

and the next time that you stand up
It will be on your last day.
They watched as the illusion of him cut of Prince Louis' head.
Where did all your friends go?
I killed them yesterday.
You can't bring them back
and you won't save the day.

The images changed to a priest standing in front of the Vatican holding a bible.

"What was that?" Prince Louis asked with his head down.
"How did you like it?" Danny asked changing his clothes back to the original. He could feel the rage pouring over the bourbon prince.
"You make mockery of me, but it has no effect. You will pay for what you have done." Prince Louis said swinging the sword in an arc.
"Not yet Prince Louis. We will have our fight but not today." Danny said jumping into the air and turning invisible while covered by leaves that he pulled from the tree.
