"So far, it's only been a month, since I met Kushina. I honestly thought I was going to be beaten up by her just for staring. But instead, she became really nice to me after my outburst. And from since then, we became really good friends. She would make sure that no boys tries to bully me, from here on out. And there are a few times when Kushina would ask me for help with a few assignments and I would happily oblige to help her. But one day, when I stayed after at the Academy, I heard some boys from another classroom frustrated her and that she left the Academy as soon as the Academy bells ran."
It is four forty-thirty in the afternoon and Otaku was currently in his homeroom. He looked down at the desk section that Kushina had sat at and noticed that her Academy textbooks were left behind. He then gasped. "Oh no! Kushina forgot her textbooks."
Twenty Minutes Later...
Otaku ran toward Kushina's residence as fast as he could to deliver her, her textbooks.
"During the month we became friends, Kushina was also nice enough to tell me about her residence and where she stayed. She made me also promise not to tell anyone, so that no one can harass her. And I kept my word. But as soon as found Kushina... I was not happy with what I saw."
Otaku Hyuuga currently stopped in a field of cherry blossom trees and watched in horror as he witnessed one of the boys who bullied him named Kazuhiro Furutani taunt Kushina, while the bully's older brother named Takeshi Furutani who's a Genin physically assault Kushina by grabbing her long red hair by the roots. Kushina had tears streaming down her face.
"Your hair is red and it's stiff like thread... hair like this is ugly to me!" Takeshi mocked Kushina as he continued pulling on Kushina's roots.
Otaku silently gasped when he saw orbs of tears falling from Kushina's face while being assaulted. Otaku clenched his fist, tightly out of frustration as he listened.
"Heh! Serves you right!" Kazuhiro laughed in Kushina's face as she cried.
"Let go of her!" Otaku yelled to the siblings.
Kushina gasped and shot her eyes open with tears in her eyes when she heard Otaku's voice. 'Is that?'
"Eh?" Both siblings looked toward the direction they heard another masculine voice from. And they spotted a frustrated Otaku Hyuuga glaring at them.
"Otaku?" Kazuhiro recognized.
"Kazuhiro, you know him?" Takeshi asked as he stared at the frustrated Otaku Hyuuga.
"Yeah. He was one the dweebs that me and some other kids picked on, until this girl came out of nowhere." Kazuhiro told Takeshi while pointing at him. "Why don't you mind your business, dweeb?"
"Let go of my friend right now, or else...!" Otaku yelled.
"Oh yeah? Or else what? You're gonna cry?" Takeshi teased Otaku.
Otaku growled a bit, then activated the Byakugan within both eyes. Revealing the veins around his eyes.
Takeshi looked closely and saw the veins around Otaku's eyes. "Huh? What's with his eyes?"
"What?" Kazuhiro then looked at Otaku and noted that veins suddenly appeared around Otaku's eyes. 'Hey, what's with his eyes?"
Otaku then had taken a Gentle Fist stance as he glared at Takeshi. 'Gentle Fist!' Otaku thought to himself.
'Otaku?' Tears stopped streaming down Kushina's face as she saw Otaku's Gentle Fist position. She saw veins appearing around Otaku's eyes
"This was the first time that I've ever awakened the Byakugan without weaving any hand signs."
"Hey, what is he doing?" Kazuhiro asked, then gasped when he realized where Otaku came from. He then let go of Kushina's hair. Causing Kushina to land on her hands and knees. "Wait... Kazuhiro. Is this kid part of Hyuuga Clan?"
"Yeah." Kazuhiro replied to Takeshi. "What's wrong?"
'The Hyuuga Clan?' Kushina thought to herself. 'Is that the-'
Otaku then ran toward Takeshi at a fast past speed.
Both Takeshi gasped and Kazuhiro gasped when they suddenly spotted Otaku come in close range. But Otaku's eyes were locked onto Takeshi. Kazuhiro's older brother.
Takeshi begun to sweat and felt very intimidated. 'I knew it! He's from the Hyuuga Clan! I'm dead!'
'Lock on! Gentle Fist!' Otaku then threw a finger thrust toward Takeshi's sternum.
Takeshi froze in horror when Otaku struck him in the chest. Ten seconds had passed and Takeshi didn't feel any kind of pain, whatsoever. After feeling no effects, Otaku laughed it off like it was a joke. "Hahah! Is this some kind of joke?"
Otaku shockingly gasped when he learned that his Gentle Fist had taken long enough. 'I don't get it! Why isn't it working? Have I not trained enough for it to take effect?' Otaku grunted, then tried to
"Haha! You're still trying to attack me with those finger pokes?" Takeshi laughed a bit more.
Otaku tried a few more times to strike Takeshi, until he is met with a fist to the face. He hit the ground after taking a punch from Takeshi.
"You're just wasting your energy!" Takeshi smirked then walked over to Otaku.
Before Otaku could stand back up on both his feet, he was then ambushed by a few punches to the face and chest by Takeshi.
Kushina gasped when she saw Takeshi begun to beat on Otaku.
"And you're supposed to be a Hyuuga, one of the strongest Clans in Konohagakure?" Takeshi chuckled. "Don't make me laugh!" Takeshi said as he is about to deliver a strong punch to Otaku's face. But was then interrupted with a knee to the side of his face caused by Kushina. Takeshi flew to the side landing on his left side. It had taken five seconds to sit up. "What the-"
"Leave him alone!" Kushina yelled at Takeshi.
Takeshi slowly got up on his feet, feeling irritated as he saw Kushina glaring at him. "Oh yeah? Make me?" Takeshi then got up on his feet and tried delivering a punch onto Kushina. But Kushina was too quick and dodged Takeshi's punch by ducking, then delivered an uppercut to Takeshi's chin. Kushina then delivered to punches to his face then jumped high in the air for a few seconds and landed a kick onto his head-which caused Takeshi to fall on his back.
Kazuhiro gasped. 'Brother!'
Kushina then climbed over Takeshi delivered multiple hard punches to his face. Otaku sat up in time to see Kushina pummeling Takeshi. 'K... Kushina?'
"I won't let you hurt my friend!" Kushina yelled while pummeling Takeshi.
Kazuhiro who watched his brother be pummeled felt intimidated and ran away in fear.
Otaku watched a bit and thought that she was going a bit too far with beating Takeshi. "K-Kushina!"
"Huh?" Kushina stopped throwing punches at Takeshi and looked at Otaku Hyuuga. "Otaku!" Kushina got off of Takeshi and ran toward Otaku. "Are you okay?"
"I'm a bit soar... but I think I'll pull through." Otaku ached a bit.
Kushina offered Otaku a hand to help him up. "Here. Let me hel-"
"Urgh..." Takeshi groaned in pain.
Kushina stopped midsentence when she heard Takeshi groan in pain. She saw Takeshi slowly sit up with a few bruises on his face and blood running from his right nose hole. She quickly protected Otaku by acting as a body shield for him as she glared at Takeshi.
Otaku looked around a bit until he saw some of Kushina's hair on the dirt. He grabbed it and threw it at Kushina in fear and resentment. "Outsider!"
Kushina gasped, then gave a sad look.
Takeshi slowly stood up to face Kushina and decided not to attack her. "There's no way someone like you could ever become Hokage." He said before limping away.
Kushina sadly watched Takeshi limp away in the direction that Kazuhiro ran. 'An outsider, huh?' She was then brought back to reality when she felt a soft hand on her right shoulder.
"Are you okay, Kushina?" Otaku asked, feeling concerned for her.
Kushina looked to see Otaku with bruises on his face check on her. "I'm fine. Thank you for coming."
"I'm sorry that happened to you." Otaku apologized.
"It's okay. I'll be fine." Kushina smiled, which earned a crooked smile from Otaku." But to be honest, I didn't really need you to come and save me. I can fight on my own, you know."
Otaku gasped and felt a bit embarrassed. "N-no, it's not that all! I came here because I wanted to return you your books..." Otaku groaned a bit and looked down at Kushina's textbooks in his hands.
"My books?" Kushina asked as she looked down at them. "You got them for me, didn't you?"
"Mm-hmm." Otaku nodded and looked down at Kushina's textbooks. "You left them back at the Academy and I felt like I had to-" Otaku painfully clutched his chest.
Kushina gasped when she saw Otaku clutch his chest in front of her. "You're badly hurt!" She then placed both hands on his shoulders. "Let me help patch you up."
"Um..." Otaku looked at Kushina for a second. "Okay."
Kushina then grabbed Otaku's right arm and placed it around her neck. She helped carry him and helped him walk to her residence.
"Um... where are we going?" Otaku asked.
"I'll tell you when we get closer to the destination." Kushina whispered as they walked.
"That was the first time that I've ever gotten into a fight. And the first time that I've fought for someone. And even though I was beaten, part of me felt happy that I was."
As they walked toward a destination that Kushina knows, neither of them were aware that a blonde-haired promising Shinobi named Minato Namikaze watched the entire scene from a distance. Minato stood on a large tree branch within the cherry blossom field and was impressed with seeing Kushina's strength, but did not like how Otaku intervened. He honestly wanted to see Kushina fight on her own and stand up to the bullies.
