"Shortly after I had gotten beaten up by Kazuhiro's older brother that day, Kushina tended to my injuries and called me her true friend. I felt very happy when she said it and I wanted to laugh in relief. That was the moment when she and I became besties. Of course when I returned to the Hyuuga Estate that day, my mom noticed my injuries and questioned me about it. I had to make up an excuse-in other words, "lie" to her about slipping and falling off a building while running. Just to cover up the fact that I was beaten up to save my friend. I know. Lying is not good and it's not my proudest moment, either. So, please, don't lie."
An entire week had passed since Otaku Hyuuga went to help Kushina. His injuries had healed and is currently training within the Hyuuga compound practicing his Gentle Fist technique on a tree. He struck a tree wrapped in straw, constantly. Wanting to improve in his Taijutsu skills and Gentle Fist, he sweated like crazy and his arms felt very soar. But he knew he had to keep going.
"The next day, I devoted my time to get stronger by doing five things, daily. First is waking up. That's highly important. Second, is eating breakfast-which is the most important meal of the day. Third is studying so that your mind and brain can get stronger. Fourth is train your physical body so you can have more stamina. And last but not least... Sleep, so you can relax your body and mind. And then you repeat all of that the next day. "After training for about three months... I was finally able to activate the Byakugan at will. No hand signs or outbursts of rage."
Otaku Hyuuga stood in front of a bathroom mirror inside the Hyuuga Compound and activated his Byakugan in front of the mirror at will. He noticed the veins appearing around his pure white eyes. "I did it..." He laughed a bit. "I did it!" Otaku celebrated in front of the mirror.
"After I was sure that I activated it at will, the first person I showed it to was Kushina. And then we sparred."
Otaku and Kushina stood before each other in the place where Kushina was bullied and Otaku awakened his Byakugan out of anger. They were ready to spar with one another.
"I want you to not hold back, Kushina!" Otaku said as he had taken a Gentle Fist stance.
"Got it!" Kushina replied as she gripped her fists and had taken a fighting stance. The duo then charged at each other and threw throwing fists and jabs.
"She ended up knocking me out during the first twenty seconds of our match. After that, she would treated my injuries."
Kushina placed Otaku's shoulder over hers and took him to her Residence to be treated.
"For the next two years straight, Kushina and I continued to train with each other during our freetime and we had gotten very close. We even passed the Genin Exams, together."
"Clone Jutsu!" Otaku chanted while performing the Shadow Clone Jutsu hand signs in front of his instructor, Shuichi. Suddenly, a perfect doppelganger appeared next to Otaku.
"You pass!" Shuichi said as he checked Otaku's name off a list.
Otaku smiled.
"Clone Jutsu!" Kushina chanted while performing the Shadow Clone Jutsu hand signs. Suddenly, three perfect doppelgangers appeared around Kushina.
Many of the classmates were surprised and thrown off when they saw Kushina summon three Shadow Clones. Otaku was already optimistic when Kushina perfectly performed Shadow Clone Jutsu.
"You pass!" Shuichi said as he checked Kushina's name off a list.
Kushina happily smiled.
"Shortly after we got our Genin headbands, Kushina and I joined a Genin Team."
A big group of students sat in an Academy classroom, listening to their teacher, Shuichi made a speech about becoming a Genin. Both Otaku Hyuuga and Kushina Uzumaki-who were sitting beside each other had recently graduated from Konohagakure's Academy and had earned their Genin headbands along with their other friends, like Minato Namikaze.
Otaku Hyuuga wore a red vest over his black black short-sleeved shirt. He also wore a pair of dark blue pants, blue Genin shoes.
'We all made it to Genin!' Otaku smiled, then looked to his right and saw Kushina wearing her Genin headband. She also wore a yellow dress with a black sash over her waste. With long black stockings and dark reddish Ninja shoes. She looked happy to him. 'And Minato made it as well! I'm happy for him, too.' Otaku looked over to Minato who was on the top left corner of the classroom. He had a gray jacket with a hoodie, dark blue pants and black Ninja shoes.
"Okay! As of today, you are all Shinobi. To get here, you all have faced difficult trials and hardships in becoming a Genin. But that is nothing. What's in stored for you, next, will be nothing compared to earning the rank of Genin. You are all first level Shinobi. All the Genin will be grouped into three man squads. Each squad will be lead by a Jounin, a high Ranking Shinobi."
'We did it! Now we're going to be apart of a four-man Squad!' Otaku smiled and thought to himself.
Shuichi said, then pulled out a list. "Now, I will announce the squads."
Three Minutes Later
"Squad Nine. Kushina Uzumaki." Shuichi called.
"Uh?" Kushina muttered when she heard her name.
"Otaku Hyuuga." Shuichi called.
Otaku Hyuuga's eyes shot wide open after listening to his teacher. 'Wait, did Shuichi-sensei just say what I thought he said?'
'Me and Otaku are on the same team, together! This is perfect!' Kushina smiled and a tiny blush appeared on her face.
Minato had a mild look on his face after learning that Otaku and Kushina were on the same team, together. 'Otaku and Kushina are on the same team together. But there's still hope that I can be on their team.' Minato didn't want to lose hope, yet.
"And finally, Asami Uchiha." Shuichi called.
Minato's head dropped in disappointment. 'I didn't make it...' He silently pouted.
"Hm?" A girl called Asami Uchiha who sat in the front of the classroom heard her name be called. She has fair skin, short neck-length jet black hair and a pair of black eyes. She wore a high-collared blue qipao dress with sleeves that goes down to her triceps and with the Uchiha Clan symbol on back of her dress. She also wore thin black pants under and black Ninja shoes. 'Shuichi-sensei just called my name.'
'Hey, that's Asami.' Otaku thought as he looked in her direction.
"And last but not least... is Squad Ten." Shuichi said, catching everyone's attention. "Minato Namikaze."
Minato raised his head after hearing his name be called.
"Tamotsu Akimichi." Shuichi called.
"You got it, sensei!" Tomatsu happily gave his teacher a thumbs up. Tamotsu Akimichi has short blackish-gray hair, a tanned skin and his eyes seem to be closed. He wore a black robe with a gray fishnet shirt under. He wore white pants and blue Ninja shoes.
"And Norio Kawamura." Shuichi called.
"Hmph." Norio crossed his arms and raised his nose a bit. 'Looks like the team I'll be on won't be that bad.' He thought to himself. Norio had pale skin, black eyes and long black hair which is gathered in a top-knot and tied by a red rubber band on top of his head. He also wore a red thin headband around his head. He wore purple and yellow-striped shirt with a green high collar. He also wore a pair of black baggy pants and blue Ninja shoes.
"Those are all the squads. If you have any questions... you can ask me after lunch. You will be meeting your new Jounin teachers very soon. Until then, class dismissed." Shuichi said.
Lunch Period
"We did it, Otaku! We're on the same team, together!" Kushina said feeling optimistic.
"That's right, we are on the same team." Otaku smiled and both he and Kushina shared a high five.
"Um, excuse me. I hope that I wasn't interrupting..." Otaku and Kushina's other scheduled teammate, Asami Uchiha had confronted the duo.
"Hm?" Kushina's attention was turned to a girl who approached the pair. "You're..."
"Asami Uchiha is very friendly and polite to everyone in my class. Even when outside of the Academy. Many villagers in Konoha would give the Uchiha Clan a hard time, because of their reputation in the Police Force. But Asami just choose to stay positive no matter the outcome."
"Hi, Asami." Otaku waved toward Asami.
"Hello, Kushina. Hello, Otaku." Asami bowed her head toward them. "I happily look forward to work with the both of you on Team Nine. Hopefully, we can work hard and become Jounin in the future." Asami smiled.
"That's great! We can all try our best to become the best Jounin as possible, together!" Otaku replied to Asami. "The three of us."
"Yeah! Let's do it!" Kushina said and raised a fist high up in the air.
"Okay!" Otaku raised his fist high in the air, as well.
Asami chuckled and raised her right single index finger in the air.
After Academy Hours
Otaku's team, Team Nine waited fifteen minutes inside of a classroom for their assigned sensei. All the other teams from Team One through Team Eight had met their Jounin senseis. Even Team Ten met their new sensei-which happened to be Jiraiya, the Gallant.
Kushina felt real impatient over their sensei's tardiness. She continued to tap her finger over her crossed arms. "Where the heck is he?"
"Calm down, Kushina. I'm sure there be here at any moment." Otaku chuckled and tried reasoning Kushina Uzumaki.
Kushina gave Otaku a sharp look, which made Otaku a bit. "Don't tell me to calm down! Whoever this sensei of ours is totally late!" Kushina pointed at the door. "And if I have to wait for this sensei of ours for one more sec-"
Suddenly, the sliding door that lead to the classroom had opened, which caught Otaku Hyuuga's, Kushina Uzumaki's and Asami Uchiha's attention. A man with a green Jounin vest and short white spiky hair had named Sakumo Hatake had appeared and walked inside the classroom to meet his three Genin.
"Sorry for the tardiness. I had to make sure that my son, Kakashi made it to daycare, safely." Sakumo Hatake embarassingly apologized and rubbed the back of his head. "My name is Sakumo Hatake. And I will be your Jounin sensei from this point on."
Asami Uchiha will be an important character in the future.
