The Return to the Town Hall
The Concordia hummed with energy as it sped through the darkened streets of Melbourne, its glowing pipes illuminating the rain-slicked road. Inside, the Guardians sat in silence, their expressions set with determination. Each of them carried the weight of the earlier failure but now bore the resolve to make it right.
Ryan, gripping the constellation-etched steering wheel, glanced at the holographic map displayed on the dashboard. The Town Hall loomed ahead, its Victorian architecture casting long shadows under the dim streetlights. "We've got one shot at this," he said, his voice calm but firm. "Everyone knows their roles. Let's make this count."
Nick, seated in the back, twirled one of his upgraded Lightning Daggers, the blade crackling faintly. "Can't wait to give those thugs a taste of these beauties. This time, no running."
Rubyn, adjusting her Flameheart Sabre, arched a brow at him. "Darling, just try to keep up, won't you?"
Angus chuckled, his deep voice rumbling through the vehicle. "Ye two can compete all ye like, as long as ye get the job done. Let's focus on takin' these criminals down."
Kryvor, seated next to Angus, flexed his gauntlets, the EMCU crystals glowing softly. "They'll be expecting us to retreat again," he said. "We'll use that against them."
Vicky, monitoring the area from her Spirit-Scribe Gauntlet, nodded. "I've marked key positions outside the building where their forces are concentrated. If we take them down quickly, the police can secure the perimeter while we move inside."
Zyfyr, his emerald eyes sharp and focused, adjusted the string of his Bow of the Sky Sovereign. "I'll cover the high ground and keep their reinforcements at bay."
Ailyn, sitting beside Vicky, gripped her Solar Mace "Gleamstrike", her mismatched eyes bright with determination. "Ailyn ready! Ailyn will guide the people to safety!"
Ryan's mark of the seven-pointed star glowed faintly as he addressed the team one final time. "This time, we do it together. No hesitation. No second-guessing. We're stronger now, and we're going to prove it. Let's finish this."
The Concordia came to a smooth stop a safe distance from the Town Hall. The Guardians disembarked, their upgraded weapons glinting in the faint light. The police, still stationed at the barricades, watched them approach with a mix of hope and wariness.
The lead officer, the same man Ryan had spoken to earlier, stepped forward. "You're back," he said, his tone heavy with relief. "Are you ready for this?"
Ryan nodded. "We are. Get your men ready to secure the criminals we take down outside. Once we're inside, keep the perimeter locked down."
The officer hesitated, then extended his hand. "Good luck."
Ryan shook it firmly. "Thanks. We'll need it."
The Plan
The Guardians gathered in the shadows near the entrance of the Town Hall. Ryan crouched down, sketching a quick layout in the dirt with the tip of Cælbyrn. "Alright, here's the plan. Rubyn, Nick, and Angus, you'll lead the charge. Hit them hard and fast. Draw their attention."
Rubyn smirked, her fiery blade flickering faintly. "Consider it done, darling."
Nick twirled his daggers. "Fast is my middle name."
Angus hefted his Boreal Halberd of Frost, the icy weapon gleaming under the streetlights. "Let's give 'em somethin' to remember."
Ryan continued, "Zyfyr, you'll take the high ground again. Use your arrows to neutralize anyone trying to flank us."
Zyfyr nodded, his wings twitching slightly in anticipation. "Understood."
"Ailyn and Kryvor," Ryan said, turning to them. "You're on support. Ailyn, guide the civilians to safety if things get chaotic. Kryvor, hold the line with your gauntlets and keep their reinforcements off our backs."
Kryvor flexed his hands, the crystals on his gauntlets glowing brighter. "I'll make sure they don't get through."
"Ailyn will protect the people!" she declared, gripping her mace tightly.
Ryan rose to his feet, his shield and sword ready. "I'll coordinate and cover any gaps. Remember, we work as a team. Let's move."
The Battle Begins
The Guardians stepped into the open, their presence immediately noticed by the armed criminals stationed outside the Town Hall. One of the thugs shouted, "They're back!" before raising his weapon.
"Go!" Ryan commanded.
Rubyn, Angus, and Nick surged forward. Rubyn was a blur of crimson and flame, her sabre cutting through the air with elegant precision. She deflected incoming energy blasts with a flick of her blade, closing the distance between her and the nearest criminal. "Too slow, darling," she said with a smirk as her sabre's fiery arc took him down.
Nick darted around another group, his daggers crackling with lightning. "Catch me if you can!" he taunted, throwing an electrified dagger that disarmed one thug and sent another stumbling backward. He followed up with a spinning strike, his movements almost too fast to follow.
Angus was a force of nature, his halberd carving through the enemy ranks with icy precision. Each swing sent waves of frost rippling across the ground, freezing weapons and immobilizing the criminals. "Let's see ye handle this!" he roared, slamming the butt of his halberd into the ground and creating an icy barrier to block reinforcements.
Zyfyr, perched on a nearby rooftop, rained arrows down on the enemies. Each shot was precise, knocking weapons out of hands or pinning criminals to the ground. "You're not getting past me," he muttered, drawing another arrow and letting it fly.
Kryvor stood at the edge of the battlefield, his gauntlets glowing as he activated the EMCU. With a tap of his middle and ring fingers, he sent crystalline spikes erupting from the ground, blocking the criminals' escape routes. When one thug managed to get close, Kryvor met him head-on with a powerful punch, the energy from his gauntlets sending the man flying.
Ailyn moved swiftly through the chaos, her mace glowing brightly as she created shields of light to protect civilians and police officers caught in the crossfire. "Ailyn is here to help!" she called out, her warmth and optimism a beacon in the chaos.
Ryan, at the center of it all, used Prydwen to deflect energy blasts while striking with Cælbyrn. He coordinated the team through the telepathic link, his voice steady and commanding. "Nick, watch your left! Angus, hold that barrier! Rubyn, clear the path for the police!"
The team moved like a well-oiled machine, their upgraded weapons and coordinated efforts overwhelming the criminals. One by one, the thugs fell, their weapons disabled and their escape routes blocked. The police moved in quickly, handcuffing the subdued criminals and securing the area.
Heading Inside
As the last of the thugs outside the Town Hall was taken into custody, Ryan regrouped with the team. They stood in the now-cleared courtyard, their weapons still at the ready.
"Phase one complete," Ryan said, his voice steady but tinged with urgency. "Good work, everyone. Now comes the hard part."
Rubyn adjusted her sabre, her eyes narrowing as she looked at the Town Hall's darkened entrance. "The Boss is inside, isn't he?"
Ryan nodded. "And he's waiting for us. Let's not keep him waiting."
The Guardians exchanged determined glances, their resolve unshaken despite the battle they had just fought. Together, they stepped toward the entrance of the Town Hall, their weapons gleaming and their spirits unyielding.
The Guardians Strike Back
The heavy double doors of Melbourne's Town Hall groaned open as Ryan and the Guardians stepped inside, their weapons at the ready. The grand interior of the building was eerily quiet, the flickering light from old chandeliers casting shadows across the marble floor. The echoes of distant murmurs and the occasional clank of metal hinted at the presence of the criminals deeper within.
Ryan raised Cælbyrn, the galaxy-like blade shimmering faintly in the dim light, and gestured for his team to follow. "Stay sharp. They know we're here."
Rubyn twirled her Flameheart Sabre, its fiery blade flickering as she spoke in a hushed tone. "Darling, they'll regret it soon enough."
Zyfyr, his Bow of the Sky Sovereign drawn and ready, moved to the side, his keen emerald eyes scanning every corner. "I'll cover the flanks. No surprises this time."
The sound of heavy boots echoed from a corridor ahead. Suddenly, the murmurs grew louder, followed by rough laughter and the metallic click of weapons being readied. A voice boomed out, dripping with mockery.
"Well, well! Look who came crawling back!" The man stepped into view, flanked by a dozen armed criminals. He wore a heavily armored suit, clearly enhanced with Avalonian technology. His cybernetic gauntlets crackled with energy as he sneered. "You lot didn't have enough last time, huh? Thought you'd try again?"
Ryan stepped forward, his shield Prydwen glowing faintly. "Your game's over. Surrender now, and no one gets hurt."
The man laughed, a harsh sound that echoed through the hall. "Surrender? You think we're afraid of you? We've got upgrades too, mate. You're out of your depth."
One of the thugs, holding an energy-charged rifle, jeered. "Boss says we're takin' you down this time. Say goodbye, Guardians!"
Ryan narrowed his eyes. "You've made your choice. Guardians—engage!"
The Battle Begins
The criminals surged forward, weapons blazing. Energy blasts streaked through the air, shattering marble columns and sending shards flying. Ryan raised Prydwen, its gravitational field deflecting the incoming projectiles as he shouted commands through the telepathic link.
"Angus, Kryvor—you're up first! Hold the line and create an opening for the rest of us!"
Angus let out a roar, stepping forward with his massive Boreal Halberd of Frost at the ready. The icy weapon glowed brightly as he swung it in a wide arc, sending a wave of frost toward the advancing thugs. The frost froze the ground beneath their feet, causing several to lose their balance and fall.
"Ye thought ye'd outmatch us, did ye?" Angus bellowed, his voice reverberating through the hall. "Let's see how ye handle this!"
One thug, armed with a glowing axe, lunged at Angus. With a swift motion, Angus blocked the strike with the haft of his halberd and countered with a devastating upward swing. The axe flew from the thug's hands as he was knocked back, landing hard against a wall.
Another criminal shouted, "Get him! He's just one guy!" A group of three rushed Angus, but he twirled his halberd with surprising agility, striking two down with a single sweep and freezing the third in place with a blast of ice.
Nearby, Kryvor stepped into the fray, his EMCU gauntlets glowing with crystalline energy. With a tap of his middle and ring fingers, the gauntlets activated, sending shockwaves rippling through the ground. The criminals nearest to him stumbled, their footing thrown off by the sudden seismic shift.
One thug, wielding a pair of electrified batons, charged at Kryvor. "You think those fancy gloves scare me?" he sneered.
Kryvor remained calm, his heterochromatic eyes locked on his opponent. "No," he said, his voice low and steady. "But my fists will."
As the thug swung his batons, Kryvor ducked effortlessly, his movements precise and fluid. He delivered a swift uppercut with his gauntleted fist, the crystalline energy amplifying the impact. The thug was sent flying backward, landing in a heap on the floor.
Another pair of criminals attacked from opposite sides, one with a blade and the other with a rifle. Kryvor turned smoothly, blocking the blade with one gauntlet while using the other to create a crystalline barrier that deflected the rifle's blast.
"Your weapons are impressive," Kryvor said as he disarmed the blade-wielding thug with a sharp twist of his wrist. "But you lack discipline."
With a spinning kick, he sent the rifleman sprawling, then slammed his gauntlet into the ground. Crystalline spikes erupted from the floor, creating a barrier that isolated the remaining thugs.
The Criminals Respond
The leader of the group snarled, his cybernetic gauntlets crackling as he stepped forward. "You think you're clever, don't you? We've got more where that came from!" He raised his gauntlets, and a surge of energy blasted toward Angus and Kryvor.
Angus planted his halberd in the ground, creating a wall of ice that absorbed the blast. "Yer gonna need more than that, laddie!" he growled, stepping out from behind the ice and advancing on the leader.
Meanwhile, one of the criminals shouted, "Flank them! Don't let them pin us down!"
Several thugs moved to the sides, trying to outmaneuver the Guardians. But Kryvor was ready. He activated the EMCU again, sending a controlled seismic wave through the ground. The thugs stumbled, their formation breaking apart.
"Angus, now!" Kryvor called.
Angus grinned and swung his halberd in a wide arc, the icy energy surging outward and freezing the thugs in their tracks. "That's teamwork, lad!" Angus said with a laugh.
Turning the Tide
Despite their initial confidence, the criminals were quickly losing ground. Their upgraded weapons were powerful, but the Guardians' coordination and skill proved to be the deciding factor.
The leader, realizing he was outmatched, shouted, "Fall back! Regroup inside!"
As the remaining criminals retreated deeper into the building, Ryan stepped forward, his sword and shield glowing with power. "They're running scared," he said through the link. "Good work, Angus and Kryvor. Let's press the advantage."
Rubyn, standing nearby with her sabre at the ready, smirked. "Looks like the warm-up's over. Shall we?"
Ryan nodded, his mark glowing brighter. "Let's finish this."
Speed and Grace Meet Their Match
As the criminals retreated deeper into the Town Hall, the Guardians regrouped, their weapons glowing with the power of their recent upgrades. The air was heavy with tension, and every step forward echoed through the grand marble corridors.
Ryan raised Cælbyrn, the starry blade casting a faint, cosmic glow on the walls. "Zyfyr, Nick—move ahead and take point. Rubyn, Ailyn—you're with me. Watch the flanks."
Zyfyr gave a curt nod, his emerald eyes narrowing with focus. "Understood. Let's see what they've got."
Nick, his usual grin replaced with steely determination, twirled his Lightning Daggers. "Finally. Time to put these upgrades to good use."
The two darted forward, their movements swift and coordinated. They hadn't gone far before the sound of metallic clattering and hurried footsteps reached their ears. A group of criminals emerged from a side corridor, each wielding weapons enhanced with speed-like mechanics—long, bladed gauntlets that hummed with energy and propelled their users forward with unnatural quickness.
One of the criminals, a wiry man with a cruel smirk, pointed a gauntleted hand at Zyfyr and Nick. "Looks like we've got a couple of runners here. Let's see if they can keep up."
Another criminal, a woman with twin daggers that crackled with an eerie red energy, sneered. "This won't take long."
Zyfyr and Nick Take on the Speedsters
Zyfyr took to the air immediately, his wings spreading wide as he launched himself upward. "Nick, keep them distracted on the ground," he said through the telepathic link. "I'll take the high ground."
Nick rolled his eyes, though his grin returned. "Of course. Leave me with the messy part."
As the speed-enhanced criminals surged forward, Nick darted to the side, his Lightning Daggers crackling as he deflected a series of rapid strikes. The wiry man lunged at him, his bladed gauntlets slicing through the air with incredible speed. Nick ducked and rolled, narrowly avoiding a swipe aimed at his head.
"Not bad," Nick quipped, spinning on his heel to deliver a lightning-charged strike to the man's side. The blow sent him stumbling, but he recovered quickly, his speed allowing him to close the distance in an instant.
Above, Zyfyr hovered near the ceiling, his Bow of the Sky Sovereign drawn and glowing with kinetic energy. He notched an arrow and aimed for the woman with the twin daggers, who was attempting to flank Nick. With a sharp release, the arrow flew true, hitting the ground near her feet and unleashing a shockwave that forced her to stumble back.
"You'll have to be faster than that," Zyfyr called, notching another arrow. He fired again, this time aiming for one of the bladed gauntlets. The arrow struck its mark, the impact sending sparks flying as the weapon malfunctioned.
The wiry man snarled, lunging at Nick with renewed fury. "You're fast, fox boy, but not fast enough!"
Nick sidestepped with ease, his movements almost a blur as he dodged another flurry of strikes. "Fast? Mate, I invented fast." He spun around the man, delivering a series of electrified jabs with his daggers. Each strike sent arcs of lightning coursing through the criminal's body, forcing him to his knees.
Zyfyr, meanwhile, swooped down from above, landing with precision behind the woman with the twin daggers. Before she could react, he struck her in the back with a wind-enhanced arrow, sending her sprawling across the floor.
"Stay down," Zyfyr said, his voice cold and commanding.
The remaining speedsters hesitated, clearly realizing they were outmatched. Nick twirled his daggers one last time, the crackling energy casting a menacing glow. "I'd run if I were you."
The criminals scrambled to retreat, leaving their disabled weapons behind. Zyfyr and Nick exchanged a glance, their teamwork seamless.
"Good work," Zyfyr said, folding his wings. "Let's move."
"Always a pleasure," Nick replied, his grin returning.
Rubyn and Ailyn Face a New Threat
Meanwhile, deeper within the hall, Rubyn and Ailyn moved cautiously through the corridors. The flickering chandeliers above cast long shadows, creating an eerie atmosphere. A sudden burst of laughter echoed ahead, followed by the metallic clinking of chains.
Rubyn tightened her grip on her Flameheart Sabre, the fiery blade glowing brightly. "Sounds like someone's enjoying themselves," she muttered.
Ailyn raised her Solar Mace "Gleamstrike", its light illuminating the path ahead. "Ailyn doesn't like this," she said softly. "It feels... wrong."
As they turned a corner, they were met with a startling sight. Three criminals stood in the center of the room, each wielding weapons that appeared to combine gymnastics and combat. One swung a pair of bladed chains, their ends glowing with a faint, pulsating energy. Another held a ribbon-like weapon laced with sharp, metallic edges. The third, perched on a beam above, wielded what looked like a spinning staff, its edges sparking with electricity.
The woman with the bladed chains smirked. "Well, well. Looks like we've got ourselves a couple of heroes. Too bad this is where your story ends."
Rubyn raised an elegant brow. "Darling, if you think your little toys scare us, you're in for a rude awakening."
The man with the ribbon weapon laughed. "Big talk for someone so outnumbered. Let's see how graceful you really are."
Outnumbered but Not Outmatched
The criminals attacked simultaneously, their movements fluid and acrobatic. The woman with the chains swung them in wide arcs, the glowing ends slicing through the air with deadly precision. Rubyn ducked and weaved, her sabre deflecting the chains with practiced ease.
"Is that all you've got?" Rubyn taunted, her voice calm despite the chaos. "I expected more flair."
The man with the ribbon weapon leapt toward Ailyn, the metallic edges of his weapon glinting ominously. Ailyn raised her mace, its radiant light creating a protective barrier that deflected the incoming strike. "Ailyn will protect herself!" she declared, swinging her mace in a wide arc that forced the man to retreat.
Above, the third criminal used his spinning staff to rain down sparks, trying to disorient the two Guardians. Rubyn glanced up, her eyes narrowing. "Ailyn, keep the others busy. I'll handle the gymnast."
"Ailyn will do her best!" Ailyn replied, her mismatched eyes glowing with determination.
Rubyn moved with elegant precision, dodging another chain strike and leaping onto a nearby pillar. From her elevated position, she launched herself toward the man on the beam, her sabre cutting through the sparking staff in a single, fiery swipe.
The man gasped, losing his balance and falling to the ground below. Rubyn landed gracefully beside him, her blade poised. "Looks like you've been grounded."
Meanwhile, Ailyn faced off against the remaining two criminals. The man with the ribbon weapon tried to entangle her mace, but Ailyn countered with a burst of light magic, blinding him temporarily. She followed up with a powerful swing, the radiant energy of her mace knocking him off his feet.
The woman with the chains snarled, swinging wildly in an attempt to catch Ailyn off guard. But Ailyn held her ground, her protective barrier absorbing the impact. "Ailyn is stronger than you think!" she declared, slamming her mace into the ground and creating a shockwave of light that disarmed the woman and sent her reeling.
Rubyn joined Ailyn, her sabre glowing brightly. "Well done, Ailyn. Shall we finish this?"
Ailyn nodded, her smile radiant. "Yes, let's!"
Together, they advanced on the disoriented criminals, their combined power overwhelming the opposition.
The Bodyguard Showdown
The echoes of footsteps and clinking armor filled the grand hallway as Ryan and the Guardians pressed onward, their weapons at the ready. The faint flicker of chandeliers above cast long, shifting shadows on the polished marble floors, adding to the eerie silence that permeated the Town Hall. Each step brought them closer to the Boss, but a heavy tension lingered in the air.
Ryan, at the front of the group, raised Cælbyrn, the sword's galaxy-like blade glowing faintly in the dim light. "Stay sharp. We're getting close."
Nick, his Lightning Daggers crackling faintly in his hands, glanced around with his usual cocky grin. "Feels like the calm before the storm, eh?"
Rubyn, walking beside him with her Flameheart Sabre glowing in fiery arcs, rolled her eyes. "For once, darling, could you not jinx us?"
"Too late," Zyfyr muttered, his keen emerald eyes narrowing as he notched an arrow in his Bow of the Sky Sovereign. "We've got company."
A massive figure emerged from the darkness ahead, his footsteps reverberating through the hall like distant thunder. He was a towering man, easily over eight feet tall, with an immensely stocky and muscular build. His body was clad in reinforced, cybernetic armor, the plates glowing faintly with energy. In his hands, he wielded a massive, double-headed hammer that sparked with electricity.
"Well, look at this," the man rumbled, his deep voice resonating through the corridor. "The famous Guardians. Boss said you'd come."
Ryan stepped forward, his shield Prydwen raised. "You don't have to do this. Step aside, and we won't have to fight."
The man let out a booming laugh, hefting his hammer onto his shoulder. "You think I'm scared of you? I'm the Boss's best enforcer, and I've been waiting for this moment. Let's see what you've got."
The man planted his feet, the ground beneath him cracking slightly under his weight, and swung his hammer in a wide arc. Sparks flew as the weapon's electricity crackled, creating a visible wave of energy that surged toward the Guardians.
Ryan shouted, "Scatter!"
The team split, each member moving with precision and speed. The energy wave slammed into the wall behind them, leaving a smoking crater. Rubyn moved swiftly, her sabre flickering as she charged forward. "We've faced worse, darling!" she called out, slashing at the man's armor with a fiery strike.
The bodyguard grunted as Rubyn's sabre left a searing mark on his chest plate. "Not bad," he said, swinging his hammer toward her. "But not good enough!"
Rubyn leapt back gracefully, dodging the strike. "Oh, you'll find me more than good enough."
The Guardians Engage
As Rubyn distracted the bodyguard, Angus charged in from the side, his Boreal Halberd of Frost glowing brightly. "Let's see how ye handle a real fight!" he bellowed, swinging his weapon with immense force. The halberd's icy energy slammed into the bodyguard's side, creating a layer of frost that crackled and spread across his armor.
The man staggered slightly, but he recovered quickly, his massive frame shrugging off the frost. "Nice try, big guy," he growled, swinging his hammer downward in a devastating arc. Angus blocked the strike with the haft of his halberd, the impact sending a shockwave through the room.
"Aye, ye've got strength," Angus admitted, his muscles straining as he held the hammer at bay. "But strength alone won't win ye this fight."
Kryvor, watching from the side, stepped forward. His EMCU gauntlets glowed faintly, but he didn't activate them. Instead, he clenched his fists, his sharp heterochromatic eyes locked on the bodyguard. "Let's see how you fare without that fancy hammer," he said calmly.
The bodyguard turned to Kryvor, grinning. "You want to go hand-to-hand with me? You've got guts, I'll give you that."
Kryvor didn't respond. He darted forward, his movements swift and precise, and launched a series of calculated strikes at the bodyguard's midsection. Despite the man's heavy armor, Kryvor's martial arts skills allowed him to target the joints and weak points, his fists connecting with sharp precision.
The bodyguard swung his hammer in retaliation, but Kryvor ducked under the massive weapon and delivered a spinning kick to the man's knee, causing him to stumble. "You rely too much on brute force," Kryvor said, his voice steady. "It makes you predictable."
"Predictable?" the man snarled, regaining his balance. "Let's see how predictable this is!" He swung his hammer again, this time with a burst of energy that sent a shockwave rippling through the ground.
Kryvor leapt into the air, flipping gracefully over the shockwave and landing behind the bodyguard. He delivered a powerful strike to the back of the man's knee, forcing him to drop to one leg. "Still predictable," Kryvor said, stepping back as Angus moved in to capitalize on the opening.
Coordinated Attack
"Now!" Ryan shouted, raising Prydwen and charging forward. The gravitational field of his shield deflected a series of energy blasts emitted by the hammer as he closed the distance. With a swift motion, he struck the bodyguard's chest with Cælbyrn, the cosmic energy of the blade creating a crack in the armor.
Zyfyr, perched on a nearby ledge, fired a wind-enhanced arrow that struck the bodyguard's shoulder, destabilizing his grip on the hammer. "Take the weapon out of play," he said through the telepathic link. "It's his biggest advantage."
Nick darted forward, his Lightning Daggers crackling as he slashed at the hammer's handle. "On it!" he called, his movements a blur as he targeted the weak points in the weapon's design.
The bodyguard roared in frustration, his grip tightening on the hammer. "You're not taking me down that easily!"
Ailyn stepped forward, her Solar Mace "Gleamstrike" glowing brightly. "Ailyn will help!" she declared, raising her mace high. A burst of radiant light erupted from the weapon, blinding the bodyguard temporarily and giving Nick the opening he needed.
With a final, electrified strike, Nick severed the hammer's handle, rendering it useless. The weapon clattered to the ground, its energy dissipating.
The Final Push
Disarmed but not defeated, the bodyguard let out a furious roar and lunged at the Guardians with his bare fists. "I don't need a weapon to crush you!" he bellowed.
Kryvor met him head-on, his martial arts skills on full display as he blocked and countered each of the man's powerful strikes. Despite the bodyguard's immense size, Kryvor's precision and speed allowed him to stay one step ahead.
Rubyn joined the fray, her sabre blazing as she delivered a series of swift strikes to the bodyguard's armor, further weakening it. "You're outmatched, darling," she said, her voice calm but firm.
Angus moved in for the finishing blow, raising his halberd high. "And this is where it ends!" he roared, slamming the icy weapon into the ground. A wave of frost surged outward, encasing the bodyguard in a thick layer of ice.
The man struggled against the frost, his movements slowing as the ice spread. Ryan stepped forward, raising Cælbyrn. The blade glowed brightly as he aimed it at the bodyguard's chest.
"Stand down," Ryan commanded. "This is over."
The bodyguard snarled, his strength fading as the frost consumed him. Finally, he slumped forward, defeated.
Victory and the Next Step
The Guardians stood over the fallen bodyguard, their weapons still at the ready. Rubyn sheathed her sabre, her fiery aura dimming. "Well, that was a workout."
Kryvor adjusted his gauntlets, his sharp gaze still focused on the bodyguard. "He was strong, but reckless."
Ryan nodded, his mark of the seven-pointed star glowing faintly. "Good work, everyone. We're one step closer to the Boss. Let's move."
The team regrouped and advanced deeper into the Town Hall, their resolve stronger than ever. The Boss was waiting, but the Guardians were ready.
