Chapter 27

The Kid Pirate's hideout…

Their hideout consisted of an uncivilized island filled with luscious green forests, an open field and then a broken yet still stable ruin. It almost resembled a castle, the structure obviously rebuilt since it had both old and new bricks embedded in the wall.

Rosalie stared up at the large structure and whistled as she rested her hands on her hips. She expected the hideout to be a bit more…hidden? However, it wasn't that at all. Then again, Kid liked to be a bit flashy.

"You really want to feel like a King, don't you, Goggles? Did you ever think that a hideout is supposed to be a secret? The only secrecy I see is that this island is inhabited," Rosalie pointed out and Kid gave her a sick smirk.

"We made sure to clean this island from people. It was fun." Rosalie felt a wave of nausea wash over her and swallowed thickly. Of course, they did. That's probably why no one wanted to come here. They were afraid of being killed.

"My bad for pointing it out then," she murmured, her brows furrowing slightly. She still wasn't used to their way of doing things. That changed since the incident though. She didn't agree with their killing and yet she killed as well.

She had no room to talk.

There were sudden exclaims coming from inside the building, a large group of men soon burstingt out of the doors. Rosalie was too surprised to even move a muscle and could merely stare at the half drunken group who cheered.

"Boss! You're back!" They all continued to cheer and Kid's face practically spelled pride. He enjoyed the attention he received too much. Rosalie chuckled and crossed her arms over her chest, receiving looks from the new faces.

"Hey…is that? It is! We have the Red Menace as our new crewmate!" They cheered once again, the scent of alcohol lingering in the air around them. Rosalie stared at them all blankly and she frowned deeply.

"I'm not your comrade, drunken idiots!" She hit one of them on their head when they came too close and gritted her teeth as her agitation increased. "Goggles! Call you men off before I kill each one of them!" She snapped and Kid laughed in amusement.

He ignored her order and waved her off, angering the redhead even more. Luckily, Killer came to the rescue and managed to pry the men off her. They were quick to obey and left Rosalie in peace, a vein visibly throbbing out of her temple.

She felt a comforting hand on her shoulder and glanced back at Virus who gave her a wide grin. He was glad they were back at their base and it was time to rest for a while. All they could do now was either party or plan.

"Don't sweat it, Rose. They're always like that when they have a few drinks in. Come, Imma show you around!" Virus said and Rosalie nodded, the anger dissipating. A small smile came onto her lips as they walked inside the large castle-like structure.

It was even bigger inside than outside. There were multiple rooms on the upper floors, being the quarters where the men slept on bunk beds. The first floor consisted of three large halls which Rosalie assumed were for planning and celebrating.

The structure of the building was sturdy but stable inside. The halls were lit by torches on the walls and the floor was covered in a red carpet. There were emergency stairs near the ends of most of the halls and some led to the basement.

Virus explained that they kept most of their weaponry there and engaged in black market dealings there. She didn't dare to ask anything more, knowing that he was giving away precious information. Not that she ever planned on betraying then, but it was better that way.

"I know Goggles is aiming to be King of Pirates and all but it looks like he's already King of something. What's next? The throne room?" Rosalie playfully nudged the doctor and he laughed loudly, -shaking his head.

"Nah, I'll let him show you that himself," He joked and gave her a wink. "I know it's a bit much but it's practical. Anyone who attacks will immediately be on defence with the amount of weaponry we have. Also, I like it." Rosalie chuckled and rolled her eyes.

"I guess there's no arguing with you!" She briefly held out her hands in surrender. "He is the Captain and all. Happy Captain, happy life," Rosalie stated, her words echoing through her mind and she became silent.

"You can say that again…" Virus trailed off as he noticed her troubled expression. He watched as she held her shirt, a shining of silver coming into view. It looked like a silver chain around her neck and the thing that hung from it was something she now held in her hand through her clothing.

"Neh, Rose, what is that?"

Virus pointed at the necklace she held and Rosalie snapped out of her thoughts. She glanced back at him and then gave him a smile that didn't reach her eyes. She took out the beautiful piece of silver with gems and showed it to him.

"It's a gift that someone dear gave to me. I took it off when I came onto the ship but I started to feel empty without it so I decided to put it on again," Rosalie replied as she stared at the necklace, Virus chuckling at how easily she became lost in her thoughts.

"Intruders!" A loud voice boomed, the sound reaching their ears. "Intruders alert! They have been spotted at the entrance of the first floor!" It resounded once again and the sound of men preparing for battle could be clearly heard.

Virus and Rosalie gave each other one glance, then rushed towards the said area. If there were intruders then it meant they were followed on their way there. If it was true then they had to be sorted out as quickly as possible before their hideout location leaked out.

"Goggles! What's going on?!" Rosalie asked as they came onto the first floor. They managed to catch up with Killer and Kid as they walked towards the entrance a loud ruckus coming from outside. Kid glanced at Rosalie with irritation clear in his eyes.

"Like hell if I know. Whoever they are, I'll be quick to kill them. We can't let word of our base leak out or I'll be busy killing instead of planning," Kid replied and Rosalie sweat dropped. It didn't quite sound like he was bothered by the thought of it.

As soon as they stepped outside, there was a large explosion and the group had to cover their eyes from the debris that flew their way. Broken weapons came flying towards them and Rosalie's eyes widened when Kid pushed her behind him with holding out his other hand.

"Repel!" He activated his devil's fruit and send the items flying back into the smoke, his eyes narrowing dangerously. He looked at Rosalie from the corner of his eyes to make sure that she was unharmed and then grunted.

"W-What the hell is going on here?!" Killer exclaimed as the smoke started to clear, most of their men laying on the ground with burn marks. Virus was quick to move towards them and inspected the damage as the others walked outside.

"Their bodies…it's almost as if they exploded from the inside and the outside. It's a miracle that they're alive," Virus concluded, Kid cursing underneath his breath. What kind of thing could cause that much damage?

Rosalie stopped dead in her tracks as soon as she sensed out two distinctive presences. Killer attacked immediately, his blades shooting out and his speed incredible. He approached the two shadows in the dust, prepared to cut anything that came in his way.

"Ripple!" A male voice exclaimed and everything, including the air, started to vibrate drastically. Killer's movement slowed as his body also started to vibrate. Rosalie's eyes widened when she saw the other male jump towards Killer.

"Killer, watch out!" Kid warned and sent the metal near him towards the attacker. However, it wasn't going to reach him in time. Killer's eyes were wide. He couldn't move his body at all, the vibration increasing and the hand approaching him.

"Teleport!"

"Burn for me, will you? Ignite-Gah!" The male was suddenly kicked in his side and sent crashing into the other male. The vibration stopped and Killer fell onto one knee, his body still quivering slightly from the after effects.

"Killer, are you alright?" Rosalie's concerned voice reached his ears and his eyes looked in her direction. Her full body armament vanished and she put a soothing hand on his back. He managed to vaguely nod at her and slowly stood up.

"Yeah, if you hadn't kicked him then I would've ended up like the others. Thanks, Rosalie," Killer said and Rosalie grunted with a smirk. She noticed that she wasn't as exhausted as she would usually be and her haki was already returning.

"Hey, Sweetheart! What the hell do you think you're doing running off on your own like that?! Did you want to end up like them playing hero?!" Kid came into view and Rosalie scoffed as she rested her hands on her hips.

"Oh please, like your trinkets would reach him in time." Kid's eye twitched. "Besides, I'm going to pay these guys back for what they did. How's Virus going to get rest with all these injuries?!" Rosalie snapped as she looked back at the two males who glared back at them.

The blonde male helped his brunette friend up. The blonde's green eyes manage to settle onto Rosalie's figure, his brunette friend's ebony eyes joining his. Their clothing was identical. The long black pants, heavy armoured boots and gloves. The only difference was the colour of their tank tops.

"What's up with twinzies, here? Are they the cause of all this commotion?" Wire asked as he and Heat finally arrived. Kid was about to respond until Rosalie shot out towards them, her fist immediately covered in armament haki.

She was about to punch the blonde male, but he dodged by jumping back and the other male joined him. They were fast, but not faster than her. Rosalie smirked as she activated her speed armament and appeared in front of them, her hands intertwined.

"Shockwave!"
"Ripple!"

The dark-haired male's hand also shot out and the vibration in the air he sent out cancelled out Rosalie's pressured attack. Blue eyes widened and the blonde took the opportunity to kick her feet out from under her.

They anticipated my move? H-How was that possible?! Rosalie thought in shock and growled. She spun in the air and kicked both of them into each other. The blonde dispersed into tiny pieces and came in next to her.

She went to punch him with her full speed but he dodged the attack. What?! He grabbed her arm and took her down, Rosalie landing on her back and her wind knocked out. She coughed and winced at the pain, blue eyes giving them a dangerous look.

"Hey, hey, are you serious? How did they do that?! It's like they knew what she was going to do before she did anything!" Wire exclaimed in absolute dumbstruck. The others were in the same state as him, Kid more angry than shocked.

"It could be possible that one of them possesses a telepathic devil's fruit but…none of their moves showed any signs…" Heat commented as he stared at the scene in front of him. Rosalie slowly stood up and wiped the small trail of blood that ran from her mouth.

She looked at the two males and her brows furrowed. They knew her moves. How was that possible? Not even Kid knew about her shockwave and yet they managed to cancel it out. Who were these two? Where did they get their information?

"It's been a while. However, I didn't think you're moves would have the same patterns as always. Then again, you polished your moves over and over again at the Navy," the blonde spoke up and Rosalie's eyes widened.

"We would've been gonners if we didn't watch you all the time and admired you so much!" The brunette laughed loudly and rested his elbow on his partner's shoulder. "I'm glad we became stronger otherwise we would've never been able to face you again."

The group of Kid pirates stood isolated from the conversation, not knowing what was going on. They knew Rosalie and had some connection with the Navy. Where they there to take her out? Who were they?

Rosalie's knees suddenly felt weak, her heart hammering in her chest as she stared at the two faces that started to become more and more familiar. It couldn't be… there was no way… She thought and tears started to form in the corner of her eyes.

"Yo, Captain Rosaline. How've you been doing?"

It was them… Rosalie's tears escaped her and she held a hand in front of her mouth as she muffled a gasp. They were alive. She didn't know how it was possible and she struggled to believe her own eyes. They were really alive.

"No, they weren't the ones to kill you crew, Rosaline. They were wiped out by the Navy."

"Y-You're alive…" Rosalie walked over towards the two males and hesitantly reached out towards them. She feared that if she touched them, they would disappear. They were there in flesh and bone. Rosalie hit them both hard of their heads, bumps appearing.

"Ow! What was that for Captain?!" The blonde exclaimed as they each held their own head. They saw the tears streaming down her face and their hearts gave a squeeze. She embraced the two males and hugged them until they were breathless.

"Um… I'm not the only one confused here…right? She's hugging the enemy that kicked the ass of our men while crying tears of…joy?" Virus asked while paling slightly. Kid could feel a vein in his head was about to burst. He hated being out of the loop.

"Hey, Sweetheart! Do you mind telling us what exactly is going on here?! Who are these bastards?!" Kid yelled angrily and Rosalie looked back at them. She was about to answer but the two males stepped in front of her.

"I'm Blake and-"
"I'm Ryusei"

"We're ex-members of Captain's Marine crew. We were the last who survived the attack when the rest were wiped out," Blake, the blonde spoke up and the brunette nodded in agreement. He crossed his arms over his chest and narrowed his eyes at Kid.

"We came here to aid our Captain. It took so long to find her but we were finally able to trace her." He pointed at Kid, his eyes briefly widening. "Your influence has come to an end, Pirate! We're taking back our Captain even if it means your end!" He threatened, Kid's eyes blazing with anger.

The tension in the air rose again, everyone surprised about what the two males said. Rosalie stood there, dumb folded while the Kid pirates narrowed their gazes onto them. A sickening smirk came onto Kid's lips and his eyes darkened.

"What did you say?"
