Chapter 29
Black feathers. Smoke. Pistol. Blood.
Rosalie sat on the black feathers, smoke surrounding her and the faint sound of a pistol being fired could be heard in the background. She knew what she was going to see if she moved from her current spot. She could hear the trigger being pulled, no more bullets leaving the weapon.
She grimaced at the images that played in her mind. She looked up into the darkness and saw a tall male standing in front of her. He stood there, in a black feathered jacket and a once pink shirt was stained with gunshot wounds.
She didn't know how he was able to stand with all those wounds. She saw him smiling faintly and he pointed to his left. She watched as Law's figure was busy running, a familiar brown jacket with his Jolly Roger symbol and a word.
"Corazon." She softly spoke and saw the male nod. "Is your name? Corazon?" She asked once again, receiving another nod. Rosalie's brows furrowed and she tried to get her thoughts together. Who was he to Law?
"W-Who did that to you, Corazon?" Rosalie asked but this time she was met with no answer. He pulled out the pistol he had on his belt and threw it in front of her. It was the same he was shot with. Rosalie wanted to ask him why but he vanished, leaving her alone in the darkness.
She reached out to touch the weapon and as she touched the fine design, the scenery around her changed. She gasped as she saw the bloodied and painted sign of a Jolly Roger that was crossed out. She felt realization wash over her and looked down at the weapon.
Flashback
"I was born in North Blue, Flevance and my Father taught me more than anyone had ever taught me about medicine," Law started and Rosaline blinked a few times before her eyes widened. She had heard about that town before.
"Flevance, isn't that the town that had Amber Lead Syndrome?" Rosaline asked and saw the male nod but he was surprised that she knew about the town. Then again, she was part of the Navy once so anything was possible with her.
"Yes, and I was infected with the sickness." He saw her eyes widened and instead of her showing disgust, she showed compassion. It was a strange sight to see her care and the compassionate gleam in her eyes made him want to continue.
"I only had three years to live and I involved myself with a Pirate crew. I was so consumed to destroying as much as I could that I didn't realize I was dragged deeper into the darkness. However, the Pirate Captain's brother was the one to save me," Law explained but Rosaline made to comment as he continued.
"The Pirate Captain was after the Devil's Fruit that I now have for a different reason while his brother found the fruit for me to eat. It cured me, of course, but in the end, he was killed by the Pirate Captain, his own brother…" Law trailed off and his face darkened.
End of Flashback
"Law… You're going for revenge against the same man I declared war to?" She couldn't believe how much of a coincidence it was. She recalled Law being shot and quickly stood up. She had to find Law and quickly.
She was tapped on her back and glanced back at the tall male once again. She raised an eyebrow and watched as tears slowly fell down his face. She could feel her heart ache painfully and she frowned deeply.
"Law, is free." His words were soft but enough for her to hear what he said. "He's imprisoning himself with revenge. He needs to be free," he said and Rosalie gave him a small smile. She nodded and put a hand on her chest.
"He will be." Then everything went white.
Rosalie shot up in bed, her haki being expelled unconsciously and everything in the room briefly shook. She ran a hand through her hair as she tried to still her breathing and rapid breathing. She could still feel the images all flash freshly in her thoughts.
She had to find Law.
She tossed the covers on the bed to the side and quickly finished up. She knew she was being rash but everything in her body was screaming at her to go. She had to finish up with business here and find Law. After all, it was her true mission.
"Morning, Capt-um Rosalie-san," Blake's voice reached her ears as she stepped outside of her room and she jumped in surprise. She saw the blond smile sheepishly at her, Ryusei groggily joining his side and gave her a wave.
"Mornin', Cap'," he grumbled out and Rosalie raised an eyebrow. They obviously had too much to drink. After two days of drinking and partying straight, they couldn't take the amount of alcohol that they drank. They were still weak in that category.
"Morning, you two." She chuckled and ruffled their hair as she walked off. They looked at her baffled and was quick to follow. Rosalie said nothing as they walked all the way to the dining hall, the view that greeted them being less friendly.
Men still lay unconscious on the ground, chairs and tables. The smell of alcohol lingered around in the room and it was joined with groans. Well, it was going to happen since they drank for two days straight without any stopping.
"Oi, Wire, are you alright?" Rosalie asked as she saw the male half passed out on one of the tables, his large body taking the whole space for himself. He whined and squinted an eye open to look at Rosalie only to flinch from the bright light.
"Do I look alright to you?"
Rosalie chuckled and crossed her arms over her chest. "You're weak against alcohol it seems. Pathetic. Aren't pirates supposed to be professional drinkers?" She asked, only to receive weak mumbled replies from the men.
"Oh, you're here, Rosalie." Poison came into view. "I was just starting with breakfast. Would you mind helping out?" Poison asked and Rosalie grinned, nodding in reply. She glanced at the other two males who went to sit down, their conversation to themselves.
It was strange. She could remember how they would always tail her and now they were completely independent. They still went to look for her and became stronger, yet they were still on their own. She let out a sigh and then joined Poison in the kitchen.
It was no use looking back on the past now.
The Marine Headquarters…
The tension in the air was tight and suffocating. The wooden table in the middle of the conference room had seven people sitting around it, everyone in their own thoughts but each had the same subject at hand. After all, it was the reason they were called in.
Sakazuki sat in the middle, Garp and Sengoku sitting on the far-left edge along with Tsuru while softly conversing. Garp loudly laughed from time to time, disturbing the tensed atmosphere and irritated the others.
Two of the Admirals sat beside Sakazuki, Kizaru and Fujitora the only two who bothered to come. Besides from them there were two Warlords sitting on the far-right side, separating them from the Marine officers.
Bartholomew Kuma and Buggy 'The Clown' were the only of the seven Warlords to arrive. However, since the meeting had not started yet, they were waiting to see if any others would arrive despite the possibility being extremely low.
Even so, Mihawk was on his way, not a care in the world that he was arriving on the last minute. He wanted to know what would be discussed and where he stood. Unfortunately for the World Government, this was one battle that he was not going to be on their side.
"Neh, Hawk Eyes, I didn't think I'd see you here. It's the second time, right? You only seem to come to these boring meetings when an important person is involved," a voice spoke up from next to him but he ignored the feathered man.
He appreciated the silence. Unfortunately Doflamingo Donquixote was not leaving him in peace. He had been pestering him all the way from the docks, having arrived at the same time. Mihawk could only hope that this meeting would end quickly.
"I only hear the talk of a fledgling who only lets his own curiosities rule over him," Mihawk plainly stated, Doflamingo chuckling darkly next to him. He was ready to pull out his strings as they arrived in the room nevertheless. he decided otherwise. He would show him on another day.
"I see another two Warlords arrived. It's much more than I expected. You may both take a seat so we can start with the meeting," Sakazuki stated as Mihawk went to sit down on a spot vacant of anyone near him. Doflamingo sat down and crossed his legs over on the table.
"Firstly, you all have my gratitude in coming to this important gathering. As you all should know, we are in a current predicament as a new threat arises. The reason I called you here today is because of Rosalie D. Bloodmoore," Sakazuki spat out her name and pulled out a brown envelope.
"She was once an ex-marine but betrayed the Government by killing her crew and submitted herself to piracy. She then joined the Heart Pirates and became affiliated with the Marines. It wasn't long until she abandoned Law Trafalgar's crew and joined forces with Kid Eustass," Sakazuki explained.
"Not only did she run away but she slaughtered countless men in her path and declared war to one of the Warlords. We have the evidence to show what she did." He tossed the file over to the Warlords who had yet to see what was going on, all except Doflamingo who knew very well what was going on.
Buggy's eyes bulged as he looked at the images of broken bodies, Doflamingo's pirate symbol painted and crossed out in blood. Who the hell was this woman?! Was she crazy?! He swallowed thickly, not liking where this meeting was headed.
"Oi, oi, oi, she threatened him. Why are we also part of this? This is his own personal matter," Buggy stuttered out while pointing at Doflamingo who let out a dark chuckle. Buggy immediately felt uncomfortable and looked back at Sakazuki.
"Everyone is part of this battle. She is a dangerous criminal, just like her mother who was the previous holder of the name: 'Red Menace'. She is a threat to the World Government and the daughter of the infamous 'Red Hair' Shanks," Sakazuki replied.
Buggy exclaimed the loudest in shock, seeming to be the only one who didn't know. He was pale and rattled by the new information. A bunch of questions popped up in his head and he was completely overwhelmed by the news.
"Shanks had a kid? A real kid? You've got to be kidding me… That oaf had a kid?" He muttered underneath his breath and tried to put the pieces together. In the meanwhile, Mihawk looked at the images handed to him.
He briefly felt his blood run cold and his eyes widened, if only for a second. It looked exactly like Liza's handy work. He distinctly remembered how she murdered the marines all those years ago and painted with their blood.
It was exactly the same.
"Now that everyone is well informed, we can move on. Bloodmoore is a dangerous threat not only to us but the World Government. She needs to be eliminated as soon as possible and I want her to be executed," Sakazuki stated and Tsuyu sighed loudly, gaining everyone's attention.
"Do you want another war, Sakazuki? Do you wish to shed more blood of our Marines once again?" Tsuyu asked, her expression boring into his own. She had a deep frown on her old expression and arms crossed over her chest.
"No, I know very well that it would only be a pain if that Redhead interfered. Therefore, I will hold a silent execution. She will merely vanish along with the problems she brought. We can finally put an end to her bloodline and curse," Sakazuki answered.
"I have a better proposal," Doflamingo spoke up, Mihawk raising an eyebrow. "I'll execute her personally. After all, she dared to declare war to me. No one would know it happened and you would keep your hands clean. See it as my little revenge."
Mihawk huffed, his golden orbs looking at him with a bored expression. "If it's revenge you're going after, then why not Trafalgar?" Doflamingo's brows twitched. "He was betrayed, was he not? Then he was as much right to kill her himself," Mihawk pointed out and left the room briefly speechless.
Doflamingo resisted growling at the male and kept his smile, the veins that throbbed out of temple showing his anger. The male was pissing him off to no ends. Since when did he start being this cocky? Since when did he start caring?
"No, she is to be executed by us and that is final. I want her to be brought back alive. Am I clear?" Sakazuki had a threatening tone in his voice. Doflamingo scoffed in anger while Mihawk stayed silent, not saying another word.
"This is classified information, be sure not to share it with anyone. You're dismissed," Sakazuki ordered and Mihawk was one of the first to stand up. He left the room without another word, Doflamingo following him to Mihawk's dismay.
"Hey, you sure have a big mouth there for someone who never dares to say a word," Doflamingo snapped at him, walking behind the swordsman. Mihawk didn't waste his time to look back at the male and stared in front of him.
"I merely corrected your error. It seems that anyone rich enough can become a Warlord." Mihawk stopped in his tracks as he said those words, a single string appearing in front of his neck, ready to cut the skin.
"You want to fight, golden eyed bastard?"
Mihawk turned towards him, hands pocketed by his side and smirked. Doflamingo was slightly caught off guard by this action. Doflamingo could feel the sudden pressure coming off the male, the dangerous atmosphere making him grin widely.
Golden eyes stared through his lenses and then looked away, not engaging in anymore contact. "I don't have time to play around. I have a Red Menace to find," Mihawk stated and walked away without any other words.
Doflamingo stood there while looking at the male's back, the large sword in his view. They would all see in the end that no one messed with him got away with it. He was going to find Rosalie before they all did and make her pay.
Sakazuki said alive, right?
He'll leave her breathing at the least.
