"Quick Yo, you need to get the Medusa over to us, fast!" Connor said.

"What? But I just grabbed the thing, what's stopping me from using it right now?" Yo replied.

"Because you could end up petrifying the other humans here too!" Ace said.

"Not to mention, some of us will be petrified! Again!" Togaru said.

"Plus…there's also the fact you probably don't even know how to use it." Rarity pointed out.

"Yeah, you're probably right…" Yo said. Despite thoughts of him getting praise, he knew that the others' points were valid. "Fine, we'll do it your way! Here it comes!" he said as swam to the cliffside to deliver the medusa.

"I won't let you!" Ibara called out as he fell right off the ship and next to the device. "3 meters! 1 Second!" he called out before hitting the water.

At this command, the Medusa activated again, right in Yo's hands.

"What the… oh, crap!" Yo cried as he was repetrified in an instant.

Ibuki picked up Ibara's command with her heightened hearing. "So that's how it works, its voice activated! All someone has to do is call out the range and release time and that's when it activates."

"And whatever's in the field of light when it goes off is stone in an instant." Connor said.

The Medusa slipped out of Yo's hands and sank underwater, where Ibara grabbed it.

"(And now to deliver the coup de grace!)" Ibara thought while devilishy smiling. "2000 Meters, 15 minutes." he said before grabbing Oarashi, who had fallen into the water at the same time, and forced the device down the guard's throat. Ibara simply laughed as Oarashi swam to the mainland.

"It's that guy who always runs super fast." Suika said.

"That's Oarashi. At the rate he's going, he'll reach the center of the island." Amaryllis said.

"Dammit… that maniac must've fed him the device, literally. If it goes off at the center of the island, we're all gonna be petrified." Connor said.

"Not all of us." Ace said. "Just all the humans."

"That's right…non-human beings are immune to the petrification light. But Ibara doesn't know that. He'll think that he got all of us." Connor said. "He thinks he's being cautious? He doesn't know what it means to be that. Alright Ace, here's what I want you and the others to do…"

Meanwhile, Moz and Hyoga were still having their battle against each other, but Hyoga was on the losing end. Senku's team was in a bamboo thicket working on something.

"So, why exactly are we here?" Mermista asked.

"To even the odds. Hyoga isn't struggling against Moz because he's out of practice. He's just not properly equipped." Hope said.

"Whaddya mean not properly equipped, he's got a spear." Travis said.

"But it's not his spear."

"Not yet at least." Senku said. "Graphite gathered from chimney soot can be combined with alcohol, to create an instant lubricant. Once we get it on the inside of some bamboo, that's gonna be what Hyoga needs."

"Good idea…cause here they come!" Jexi said as they saw Hyoga and Moz's fight moving right along past them.

"Okay…this is gonna be a long shot but…" David said as they finished with the bamboo piece as he grabbed it and hurled it Hyoga. "Hyoga!"

Hyoga was quick to act as he let the bamboo slide right onto his spear.

"Thank you very much. You are indeed proper allies." Hyoga said. "Prepare yourself Moz. Behold the spear of science. With 500 years of history woven in, this is the Owari Kanyru style!"

With proper leverage in hand, Hyoga now had all his tools available. With a Kudayari and his Kanryu style, his spearmanship was able to overwhelm Moz, the tip shredding into his polearm.

"This is impossible… no spear should be able to move this fast!" Moz said. "You and your sorcery…" he cursed.

"Sorcery, you say? Out of all humanity's weapons, which would you say is the most powerful?" Hyoga asked. "One that places the human race above all others. What lets us build upon past generations. It's the accumulation of knowledge and skills, diligently obtained for millenia. We perfect what we've learned until we die, and even then our hard work lives on through our descendants. I don't care if you're a genius, there is no winning against relentless refinement."

The two of them continued to battle as the others were made aware of the new problem.

"This is not good. We're never going to escape in time." Jexi said.

"It's fine….don't worry about it." Pit said.

"Wait…but all of the island will…." Hope said.

"Guys…would it be all right…if you guys trusted in us and science for a change?" Xion asked as she stood with the other inhuman members of the group.

"Xion is right. Sometimes, we can't just blitz through everything with fists. We need to take some things with a logical approach." David said.

"Indeed. Kanai Ward is going to be an example of this, you probably know that better than anyone. Just leave the heavy lifting to us." Revali said.

"Revali…" David said.

"David, you remember what you said back in Hyrule during your trip back in time, don't you?" Revali asked. "That there is no shame in asking for help every once in a while. Now, I feel, it is time to return the favor. Plus, I did promise Teba that I would keep you out of trouble."

"You did." David smiled.

The light of the petrification beam quickly and swiftly started to spread out all across the island.

"Well…not much we can do to outrun this." Jexi said. "We're leaving all of this in you guys' hands."

"We'll get you all back after we bring that tyrant down." Ace said.

As the petrification light washed over the entire island, it wasn't long before everyone, according to Ibara, was turned to stone. In his eyes… he had won.

"Hahahaha! I've won!" Ibara said as he headed to the center of the island. "I'll have to be sure to take the sorcerers' magic revival water. And if there's not enough, I can just revive one and torture the info out of them."

Ibara reached the center where he took a rock and smashed open Oarashi's body, reclaiming the Medusa.

"Now let's…huh?" Ibara said before seeing footprints on the ground. "What's this? The petrification started behind me…yet it looks like this person ran quite far." he said following them.

He continued after them for a while before reaching the mobile lab.

"This was that strange beast…no…it's no beast at all. Just more of their sorcery." Ibara said, looking inside the lab. That was when a voice came through the cell phone.

"5 meters. 1 second." the voice said as Ibara panicked and stumbled back, dropping the Medusa, though it did not activate.

"Well damn…did Ibuki get it wrong?" Bismuth asked.

"Nah. I bet you gotta get up close and personal with it to work." a voice said as the inhuman members stood there, with someone leading them in front. Actually, two someones. These being Senku and Ace. "Look at that. We're the last ones standing. A boss fight worthy of demigods. Science vs Medusa with us as the proxies. So…how about it, Ibara?"

"What the hell? How…how….HOW ARE YOU NOT A STATUE?!" Ibara said in utter shock as everyone was ready to bring this long war to an end.
