Chapter 19

The sun rose as it shed its light upon the surface world, revealing the wounds and scars from the day prior. In a base of the Unisons were gathered the remnants of war as they readied their plan of action against the gloomy castle on the other side of a nearby former grassland with determination.

"Is everyone ready? There's no turning back here," Joseph said as he readied his shotgun.

"Hell yeah! Its time to show this demon what we're really made of!" Undyne said as she summoned two spears.

"For those who have fallen... let's end this once and for all," Caroline said as she gripped her broadsword.

"Let us inform the others of the plan, quickly," Toriel said as she rolled up the map that was on the table.

"Hopefully we'll finally stop this once and for all," Asgore said as he walked out first with the others in tow.

After relaying the plan, the humans and monsters began making preparations to storm the castle before nightfall and tear it down. Meanwhile, Papyrus and Marisol, the defender unit, approached a tree that was a little ways off from the others, as Papyrus looked up.

"Sans! Everyone is almost ready to depart! We have to get to the frontlines with the other leaders! Are you ready?!" Papyrus called out as his armor and Marisol's gleamed under the sun.

Sans was sitting within the tree, reflecting, and hearing his brother call out to him got up and jumped down. He landed on the patch of grass that remained alive near the tree and looked up at his bro, a purple scarf around his neck blowing in the wind above the armor he also wore.

"yeah, i'm ready to go," he replied.

As they walked along, Marisol couldn't help but glance at the scarf around neck, pained but determined by it's reminder.

Within the glooming castle of vines and ruins of old, stitched together by darkness and blood, was a throne room where a single throne of stone remained. On the balcony ahead of such a cold throne, she looked out from beyond the torn curtain to see the war-torn land and an army approaching her terrain of woe. She smiled cheerily, awaiting this day with complete satisfaction at the predictability of unrecognized stupidity.

"Oh what fun it is going to be. How they fight on and on and still haven't given in to me. Such a lovely attempt at rescue, its such a pity how they march ahead, having to trample over fallen allies to reach here and yet carry the burden of hope they gave them to challenge me. Hehe. Isn't it quite amazing? How one cause rallied all of them to work together? All together," She said as she walked back into the throne room and approached the lonely seat.

"Well, I must rally my own troops then. The army of half lives and LOVE can't sustain itself without the source once in a while," she said as she sat on the throne and rose up on her own while the child remained.

"I'll return for you... be good, my child," Corruption said as she flashed an errie smile and floated out of the room.

Sitting upon the throne and too weakened to get up, Frisk trembled as tears ran down her face and upon her chest, where her red soul showed. However, her soul was slowly being engulfed by the darkness of it's own exhaustion and usuage, as she remained alone in the cold silence of the room. The air, weighed by guilt and depression, only made her hands tremble as she gripped the throne handles harder from the crushing pain.

Emerging from underground, a trio of ghosts sprung forth as they headed towards the battlefield. The sun was their guide as they hurried along, one faster than the others.

Meanwhile, the castle was being bombarded, as the humans and monsters laid seige on it, with creatures made of darkness and remains of limbs were fighting back with weapons of their own and some with magic. Each side was giving it their all, and seeing an opportunity to break inside, Sans took the opportunity to ride up on his gaster blaster straight in from a rear window.

Upon breaking in the window that was made of paper, a few guards tried to attack, but he easily did away with them. He climbed up the steps to reach the throne room, and ended up just below it in a false empty room. The shadows in the room started to move around and tried to strike him, but he jumped up and summoned two gaster blasters to spin around and shoot them into ash. Then he used one to shoot up and flew on the other through the hole he made to the throne room. He jumped off and saw Frisk still on the throne, as her eyes laid on him and watered.

"S-Sans..." Frisk murmured, and upon seeing the scarf he wore, her tears poured down.

"Frisk?" Sans said in surprise and worry since she looked very weak.

He approached her as he saw her soul, and gave her a comforting pat on her head, reassuring her that he was really there, "aww, kid... what did she do to you? you're all banged up... aww no, your soul's sick... you're determination is nearly bonedry... i'm sorry... i wish this didn't happen to both of you... i got to get you outta here."

"So you found the pet? I should have known you would come here... but I didn't think you would bring an army," Corruption said with crossed arms near the hole in the floor, as Sans grit his teeth.

He quickly turned and raised his arm as bones shot up from where she was, however, her body disappated into a mist of grey as she chuckled. Her body reformed in front of Frisk, as Sans was forced to back away.

"It was a genius plan actually... I thought of it in that second. Instead of going after Curtain, who could fight me, why not go for the kid instead? Of course, I didn't want Curtain to come after me, so I had to do away with her sadly... but I got all that I wanted. The child's soul and body was such a perfect host to use while torturing, and how delightful it's been to see the agony and despair of the world. To finally spread it far and wide," Corruption said, her hands on her hips with a big grin.

"you must be really proud of yourself. congrats, you're the worst thing that ever spawned in this world and time. it sure must be boring though once you get to the top... how about letting me knock you back down into the dirt where you belong," Sans said with a small widening of his grin.

"Hehehe. You still find me detestable... All well, I can deal with you and these rebels. It shouldn't be so bad. With this kid, I'm practically invincible," Corruption said with a smirk.

"... geez, shut your trap already. you've done enough damage to everything and everyone. a witch like you... should be burning in hell," Sans remarked.

"How rude... but I'm no different. If you insist to judge me, then fine... Let's rumble... " Corruption said as she raise her arms up, while Frisk's arms and body did the same pose like a puppet on strings.

"Oh, and one more thing..." Corruption said, and then became a mist of darkness as she enveloped Frisk completely.

She opened her eyes as it was her eyes instead of Frisk's with fangs and messy hair as her clothes were infected with red and black colors, and around one eye had a swirl of the two colors.

"That scarf looks lovely on you... You should thank me for making it available to you," CorruptedFrisk said with a grin.

"you... you dirty lover killer!" Sans shouted as his eye glowed in blue, yellow, and purple while he summoned a gaster blaster.

"Heh heh heh heh!" CorruptedFrisk laughed, as she summoned long red scimitar blades of multiple colored handles, but was also infected with dark splashes on them.

"Bring it on, pile of bones!" She yelled out while backhanding the blades as she dodged the first shot Sans sent out.

"sure thing, pal. you can stay still and ill just erase you," Sans said as he sent a barrage of bones her way.

CorruptedFrisk cut through the bones that came from around her as she responded, "Wow! You're really serious aren't you? You're even risking hurting Frisk with these attacks huh? Did I hurt your feelings sooo badly?"

"you've hurt enough people so it wouldn't matter if you did now or didn't. but ill just say this..." Sans said as he brought forth five blasters with purple eyes to attack at the same time.

"You'll regret the day you took Her away from me, and Frisk too," his eye sockets darkened as he used one hand to grip the scarf.

"I'd LOVE to see that!" CorruptedFrisk jumped forth to dodge and then attack Sans.

His smirk widened as she noticed it, and upon her foot touching the floor, the ground broke open as a blaster came out firing. She was hit in the chest as she propelled upward, but she was able to flip herself and land on the ceiling. Looking downward at Sans, she noticed dark liquid falling down passed her eyes. When she looked down at her chest, her eyes widened to see the dark layers of herself were melting off from where she was hit, as a bright pink from Frisk's shirt emerged.

"huh, that face looks like the kind of someone who's really confused, allow me to explain..." Sans said as he teleported upsidedown on the ceiling.

"it was hard to figure out how to attack you properly without hurting Frisk. I mean, my karma didn't necessarily hurt her much, but id still take an hp off, and i didnt want to hurt the kid because her hp is already compromised by you. so, i took the initiative. its amazing what happens when you train down to the bone and get bonetired everyday, but it was worth it to see your face right now. you figured it out right? i learned a new karma, just for you," Sans said as he slowly walked closer to her.

"… I was aware of that karma, but a new one…? How does this "new karma" function, exactly?" CorruptedFrisk asked, holding her hand over the wound while looking up at him with a glare of interest and hate.

"well, since you want to know so badly... its a depleter... of LOVE. i'd call it… the LOVEbreaker," Sans replied, as he leaned a bit with narrowed eyes a few feet from her.

"... Impossible," CorruptedFrisk muttered, as she gritted her teeth because even the pun seemed to hurt her.

"Frisk isn't made of LOVE right? She barely scratches the surface so she won't be affected at all... but you on the other hand... tibia honest, it's going to leave you feeling bonedry, isn't it? i wonder how much LOVE i can chip away until you can't hold her soul captive anymore..." Sans' grin widened.

"Overconfident dirtbag... you haven't won so don't count your victory as if you do! Even if I lose hold over her... you'll be dead before that," CorruptedFrisk said.

"... nah, i can feel it. You're going to stall because now you can't actually win. besides, you haven't killed me yet, and you won't now," Sans said with a shrug.

CorruptedFrisk rushed forward and slashed at him, however, Sans caught her hand and tossed her towards the ground. She almost fell on her head, but she flipped over in time to land, staring at her hand for a moment. As a gaster blaster appeared behind her, she turned with fury in her trembling fist and shouted,

"Sans! You detestable worm! You trained even your hp!"

In her vision upon contact:

Sans
Atk 2 Def 1
HP 500

"heh, what? did you think i was going to sit back and take it? nah, i'm not letting you get away. you had your "fun," but this game is over for you," Sans sent a barrage of gaster blasters to attack.

Meanwhile, the three spirits arrived at the castle, seeing the people and monsters fight as they busted in through the dark soldiers while two of them broke in from the lower level. One of the spirits flew straight to a window on the castle upper level and saw the fight and exchanges between Sans and CorruptedFrisk.
