With the help of her sister's knowledge of the school layout, Bingo arrived at her first class, Pre Algebra 1.

Hgh…

Out of all the classes someone can start in the morning. Starting it off with math is for masochists.

"Why my first class gotta be Math?" Bingo brings her complaint to the light to her sister as they both get closer to the room

"Cuz is one of the few classes we could be together," Bluey explained with both hands on the backpack strips.

"Ah, makes sense." Bingo's tone was still neutral as the two sisters finally reached the door frame to get into the class

Bingo is the first sister to get in, and when she does, she sees a classroom with a white and brown color palette packed with teenagers on their seats; many of them are talking to their neighbors while some are talking to the math teacher on his desk. But she also notices that the few available single seats are not together, meaning that Bingo can't sit beside her sister.

"Biscuits" Bluey mutters when she gets to the same conclusion as Bingo, but she points at two seats that are on different rows. "What about those two? It's not close enough, but it's better than being far away."

"So much for having a class together," Bingo complains with half-closed eyes.

"Knock it off, Bingo," Bluey says, looking like she got tired of Bingo's behavior. "Let's just sit down; class might be about to start."

"Pfff." Bingo rolled her eyes and started to go up the rows to the empty seat. Bingo's seat was in the middle of the room, but Bluey's seat was a row to her left and two seats back. The uncomfortable position meant Bingo had to turn her head back to signal or see Bluey.

As Bluey predicted, the math teacher stands up while still being surrounded by students who quickly get the memo and return to their seats to allow the teacher to start.

"Good morning, class," The brown young adult Golden retriever speaks, making the class fall silent. "Welcome To Pre Algebra 1, where you guys will study the basics of algebra for high school while also expanding what you guys have seen back in elementary school. Now, for some of you, this is your very first class in middle…actually… raise your hand if this is your first year of middle school."

Bingo doubtfully raises her hand alongside a couple of other kids.

"Okay, perfect," the teacher continued. "I would like to take this time to give these kids a round of applause…"

As the teacher finished saying "applause," some of the students started to clap their hands to congratulate Bingo and the other kids. It didn't take long for every single student to clap along with the teacher. Bingo quickly turned her head back to see her sister also proudly clapping her hands.

"...For graduating elementary school," the teacher continues while the room is filled with applause; slowly but surely, the applauses slowed down enough for the teacher to speak again. "Yeah, you guys can pad yourself in the back; oh yeah."

As the applause dies down, a round of laughter is heard in the classroom at their teacher's antics.

"Ok…with that out of the way, and since today is the first day of classes, we are not doing anything mathematic today. Starting your first day of the school year in a math class is for masochists, honesty."

The teacher makes his class laugh again while Bingo mutters in between her teeth, "That's what I have been saying."

"So instead, we are going to introduce ourselves," the teacher explained as the class submerged in exasperated growls.

"Well, there goes my streak of making my class happy," the teacher mutters loud enough for Bingo and the class to hear, but the teacher speaks up to address the class to point at himself. "Ok, let's start with me. My name is Professor Rhody, and I have been a math teacher for seven years now. I like to play cricket with my mates, and I like to travel to Melbourne for the Albert Park race."

"Now I'm going to point at a random person," Rhody says as he covers his eyes with his hand and extends the other hand to point. "And they are going to tell me their name and three different things about themselves ."

"Oh boy," Bingo murmured, ducking behind the shoulders and head of the kid in front of her to avoid being selected as Professor Rhody moves his hand around to randomly select a dog.

Professor Rhody moves, and moves, up and down, left to right, right to left, down and up.

Until his finger points at Bingo, who apparently didn't do a good job at hiding

"You," the professor calls, removing his hand from his eyes and still pointing, "The red Heeler over there."

Bingo raises her head to look above the kid and looks behind her in one final hope there is another red Heeler in the class.

"How funny" the professor jokes as he watches a desperate Bingo looking around. "You are the only red Heeler in the class, so yeah, I chose you."

"Agh," Bingo shows frustration as she gets up to stand next to her seat.

And with a little mental break to come up with something to say, Bingo starts talking, "Hi, my name is Bingo Heeler. I like spending time with my family, I like vegetables, and I usually stop what im doing to watch bugs."

"Pretty good. Now I know. I shouldn't have bugs around the classroom cuz then you will get distracted." The professor's comment makes his class laugh again,

"It wasn't even funny," Bingo complained to herself while the teenagers around her were laughing off, making Bingo even more uncomfortable to be there.

"Ok, next one." The professor covers his eyes and points forward again. This was the signal for Bingo to sit down and duck to herself to not look at anybody's face. Rhody moves the hand around and around until it lands on a Cavapoo in the front row and to the right of the classroom. "You, your turn."

The Cavapoo nods excitedly as he stands to speak with difficulty and with a different accent, "Hi…my name is Dougie…Cavapoo… I like spending time with my mother…I like turtles…and…i started to…hear…a couple weeks…ago

"Wow…" the professor reacts as the class falls silent, amazed at the last thing Dougie said. " And yet, you show up with no interpreter. Usually, dogs in my classes that started to hear recently have an interpreter helping them," the professor points at Dougie. You, sir, are very brave. I will give you that."

After talking, Rhody leans forward to Dougie and extends his fist to him. Dougie understands immediately and fist-pumped the professor as some classmates clap their hands and cheer for the Cavapoo. But for Bingo, when Dougie leaned forward, she noticed a plastic-like circle-shaped object behind his ear.

"I guess, thats the device he uses to hear," Bingo thought with a curious face as Dougie sits down to allow Professor Rhody to continue, and even there, Bingo's location allows her to still look at Dougie.

As the presentations continued, Bingo couldn't look away from the Cavapoo and the device. It is her own morbid curiosity that makes her act like that, but at the same time, the fact that this kid couldn't hear anything at all a couple of weeks ago and seeing him today reacting and smiling to what he hears in the classroom cause some awe in Bingo' mind and soul

RIIIIIING*

After a while, the bell goes off, signaling the end of the first period.

"Alright, class, have fun on your first day here," Professor Rhody said, farewelling the class as everyone got up and left the classroom.

As Bingo crosses the door frame leaving the classroom, something behind her grabs her backpack, making Bingo turn around and find her sister with a not-so-friendly face who screams in a low voice to avoid making a scene: "Are you crazy!?"

"Huh?" Bingo tilted her head, confused about what was going on

"I saw you looking at that Cavapoo all class. What did Mum and Dad told us about staring at special people like that." Bluey continues in a low yet aggressive voice

"Oh…Sorry, I forgot." Bingo defended herself embarrassed, while looking away from her sister and crossing her arms on her belly. "I guess I got carried away."

"Then don't do that anymore." Warned Bluey as she turned away from her sister to take off. "These people might think you are discriminating them, and they will send you to the principal's office real quick."

"Yeah, I will keep that in mind," says Bingo, still embarrassed

"You know where to go next, right?" Bluey asked, returning to her normal tone to try to leave the little scene behind. Bingo just nods her head before she continues, "Ok, I will see you at lunchtime."

And with that, Bluey walks away, leaving Bingo alone in the middle school for the first time. "Yeah, see you at lunchtime." Bingo says, watching Bluey walk away
