Hopping out of the portal into the DxD world, I landed on solid ground with a relieved sigh. I found myself in a quiet park, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows across the grass. Nervously, I glanced around to ensure no one had noticed my sudden arrival.
"You're such a wimp, you know that?" a voice echoed in my mind, playful yet slightly mocking. "No one's going to jump out and attack you in a park."
I rolled my eyes, trying to ignore the flutter of anxiety in my chest. "Wow, Asphodene! You're such a good helper you know, maybe too good!"
"Of course, I am! Why else would you have picked me over my sister!" I could practically hear her huff over our mental link through the spatial disk.
See, Asphodene is a starfarer. A character from the Star's above mod that guides the player through all of the mod and gives advice and lets the player use boosts they get from beating bosses as well as travel to different places in the mod. She is also, as I've come to find out, a brat.
The description I was given for the two sister's had me believing her sister was a stick in the mud… how I regret my choice every day (even though she's only been around a day…).
Asphodene had darker blue hair than mine, styled in twin tails, and her eyes had a similar dark blue than my own, hers more like the stars mine more like an ocean. She was the stubborn, bratty, hit-things-harder-than-they-hit-you type, sadly she seemed to know her stuff… somehow—even if she sometimes had trouble putting it into words that made any sort of sense to anyone besides her.
"Glad no one's waiting outside to ambush me," I muttered, stepping away from the portal and scanning the park one last time.
"Seriously, you're such a chicken. If someone was out to get you, you'd just have to warp back into Terraria!" she teased.
"Yeah, yeah," I chuckled, trying to shake off the tension. "Let's find this apartment and see what kind of mess I've landed in."
"Fine, but I'll be here watching you fumble around," she said, her voice filled with playful sarcasm.
"Not if I put you away," I countered, reaching for the spatial disk. "I'll talk to you later, Asphodene."
"Aw, come on. Don't be a—" her voice cut off as I placed the disk in my inventory, silencing her for now, a small smirk on my face at my victory.
Following the instructions I had been given, I ventured through the town, trying to blend in as much as possible. I had only been in this world for a short time, but the familiarity of an urban setting was comforting. Eventually, I found the apartment building and made my way inside.
The building was a bit old but well-maintained. I climbed the stairs to the third floor, found my unit, and unlocked the door. Stepping inside, I took a deep breath, trying to shake off the remnants of my earlier nervousness.
The apartment was small but serviceable. A tiny kitchen was to my left, complete with basic appliances and a few empty cabinets. The living area had a worn-out couch and a small table. A single door led to what I assumed was the bedroom.
"Well, it's not much, but it's home for now," I muttered, dropping my jacket by the door, and heading into the bedroom.
The bedroom was just as modest, with a single bed, a small dresser, and a closet. Hanging in the closet was a neatly pressed uniform for Kuoh Academy. Seeing the uniform brought a mix of emotions—part annoyance, part amusement.
"Of course, they expect me to go to school here," I sighed. "Thanks a lot, mystery screen god."
I opened the closet and inspected the uniform. It looked like a typical high school outfit! Not, it looked like something from the Victorian era, the only thing that wouldn't fit in was the material and even then its still looked old fashioned! Damn this country and their mandatory uniforms!
Or maybe that just my public-school education peaking through…
Oh, there was also a small desk and a chair by the window, where I could study.
Satisfied that the apartment was at least livable, I turned my attention to the rest of the place. I found a small bathroom with just the essentials and a few basic toiletries.
Returning to the living area, I noticed a small stash of yen—I'm guessing around a hundred dollars' worth just guessing from my lack of Japanese knowledge—on the table. I pocketed the money, grateful for at least having some funds to start with.
"No food, no supplies, just a uniform and some cash," I muttered sarcastically. "Guess I'll have to do some shopping."
Taking a seat on the worn-out couch, I took a moment to plan my next steps. I needed to get groceries and supplies to make the apartment more livable, and I had to prepare for my new life at Kuoh Academy. The thought of attending school again was daunting, especially given my limited knowledge of the show.
"I can't believe I'm stuck finishing my final year of high school here," I groaned. "A show I know almost nothing about, except that the main character is a huge pervert, there's devils, gods, whatever the fuck the thing that made big G die only to seal it…"
Sighing, I stood up and grabbed the stash of yen. "Alright, time to get some groceries. Can't plan on an empty stomach."
I headed out the door and made my way to a nearby grocery store. The trip was uneventful, and I quickly gathered the basics: rice, vegetables, some meat, and a few snacks. As I made my way back to the apartment, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease. This world was dangerous, and I needed to be prepared for anything.
Back in the apartment, I put away the groceries and took a moment to relax. The events of the past day were catching up to me, and I felt a wave of exhaustion wash over me. Deciding to take a break, I flopped onto the couch and closed my eyes, letting the day's events sink in.
As I lay there, I realized I had forgotten to check in with Asphodene. She had been a constant presence in my mind since yesterday, and now it felt strange not hearing her sarcastic comments.
"I'll talk to her later," I mumbled, too tired to deal with anything else at the moment. "Just need a quick nap."
With that, I drifted off to sleep, knowing that tomorrow would bring its own set of challenges.
The morning sun cast a warm glow over the town as I made my way to Kuoh Academy. I was already in a foul mood, grumbling to myself as I walked. I knew what I had done wasn't right, but that didn't make it any easier to face the consequences.
"Asphodene, you there?" I called out, knowing full well she would respond with anger.
"Of course I'm here, you idiot! Where else would I be after you shoved the disk in your inventory and ignored me all day yesterday?" Her voice was a mix of anger and frustration, echoing loudly in my head.
"Okay, okay, I get it. I'm sorry," I muttered, rubbing my temples. "I didn't mean to forget about you. It's just… everything's been overwhelming."
"That's no excuse!" she shouted, her voice growing louder. "You know how important it is for us to stay in communication, and you just left me hanging! Do you have any idea how boring it is being stuck in that disk?"
"I'm really sorry, Asphodene," I said, trying to placate her. "I'll make it up to you, I promise."
"You'd better," she huffed. "And stop mumbling to yourself like a lunatic. People are staring."
I glanced around, realizing she was right. A few passersby were giving me odd looks. Great, just what I needed on my first day at a new school. As if I didn't already feel out of place enough, now I had to deal with people thinking I was crazy. Perfect start, Cale. Really nailing it.
Finally making my way into the school grounds, I took out the note given to me by the god who reincarnated me. The instructions were clear: head to the student council office. Easier said than done. The hallways were bustling with students, and I felt like a fish out of water. I would rather deal with more piranhas… I wonder if there's a guidebook for this… High School for Reincarnated Dummies? Bet it'd be a bestseller.
"Feeling lost already?" Asphodene's voice chimed in my head, a hint of amusement.
Navigating through the hallways, I felt a mix of curiosity and anxiety. This was my chance to start fresh, even if it was under bizarre circumstances. I just hoped I wouldn't blow my cover on the first day. Reaching the student council room, I knocked on the door, which was quickly answered by a tall, dark-haired girl with a stern expression.
"Yes?" she inquired, her eyes scrutinizing me.
"Uh, hi. I'm Caelus Froste. I'm the new transfer student, ah, and you can just call me Cale," I explained.
She glanced at me before nodding. "I'm Tsubaki Shinra. Follow me."
"She looks like she'd send you to detention for blinking too much," Asphodene commented dryly.
"Cut it out," I thought back, trying not to react.
I followed Tsubaki into the room where a girl with short, dark hair and glasses sat at a desk, clearly in charge. She looked up and smiled politely. I wonder if she practices that look in the mirror… probably has it down to a science.
"Welcome, Froste-san. I'm Sona Shitori, the student council president. I understand your transfer was quite sudden."
"Yeah, you could say that," I replied, trying to keep my tone light. "I'm still getting used to everything."
Sona gestured for me to sit down, and Tsubaki took a place beside her. "We'll do our best to help you settle in. How are you finding Japan so far?"
"It's been an interesting experience," I said, choosing my words carefully. "A lot different from what I'm used to, but I'm adapting." Interesting was an understatement. Between the cultural differences and the constant awareness that I was surrounded by devils, it was like walking on eggshells. But hey, at least it's not boring so far.
"Interesting, huh? Is that what we're calling it now?" Asphodene teased.
"You're not helping," I mentally shot back, trying to keep a straight face.
"That's good to hear," Sona said, standing up. "Since you missed the initial orientation, I'll show you around the school. This way, you can get acquainted with the layout and the various facilities."
I nodded, standing up to follow her. As we walked through the corridors, Sona pointed out the different classrooms, the library, and other important locations. I made sure to take mental notes, trying to appear as calm and collected as possible.
"I bet she has a spreadsheet for this tour," Asphodene joked.
I bit my lip, trying not to laugh. Sona glanced back at me, raising an eyebrow. I quickly composed myself.
"So, what brings you to Kuoh Academy?" Sona asked, her tone casual but her eyes sharp.
"Family reasons," I replied vaguely, hoping it would suffice. "My parents thought it would be a good idea for me to experience a different culture." It… wasn't really close to the truth, but I can't exactly say, 'Oh, just a god's whim, you know?'
"Smooth, Cale. Real smooth," Asphodene said with a hint of sarcasm.
Sona nodded, seemingly satisfied with my answer. "Well, we're happy to have you here. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to come to the student council office."
"Thanks, I appreciate that," I said, giving her a small smile. What if I actually do need to come back here? Would that be weird?
As we continued the tour, I couldn't help but let my mind wander. Sona and Tsubaki were clearly more than they appeared to be, and I needed to be careful. Until I was strong enough to face any potential threats, I had to play it cool and keep my knowledge of the supernatural world to myself. The last thing I needed was to draw unwanted attention from the devil heiress or her peerage. Play it safe, build my strength, and then… we'll see, maybe I'll reveal myself and get some allies… not a bad idea actually, I could use the help.
"Allies, huh? Just make sure they don't stab you in the back," Asphodene advised, though there was a teasing lilt to her voice.
But seriously, what kind of God dumps a guy into a world like this without a proper briefing? Oh right, a chaotic one. Well, here's to not dying… again. Also, I really hope they have good food here. I've heard great things about Japanese cuisine, but what if the cafeteria is terrible? Focus, Cale. Focus.
"So, this is the main building," Sona continued, her voice breaking through my thoughts. "You'll have most of your classes here. The gym and sports facilities are in the adjacent building."
"Got it," I said, nodding. "I appreciate the tour. It's a bit overwhelming, but I'm sure I'll get used to it." Overwhelming is an understatement. I feel like I'm one wrong move away from setting off a supernatural alarm.
"You will," Sona reassured me. "And remember, if you need any help, the student council is here for you."
"Thanks, Shitori-san. I'll keep that in mind." I wonder how much they actually know. Are they suspicious of me? Probably best not to overthink it.
"Yeah, let's not give them a reason to suspect you," Asphodene teased, clearly enjoying my discomfort.
As we finished the tour, I felt a strange mix of relief and anxiety. I had made it through without any major incidents, but the real challenges were just beginning. High school was enough of a pain without adding devils and gods into the mix.
"So, what's the deal with clubs here?" I asked, trying to keep the conversation light. "Any recommendations?"
Sona smiled. "There are many clubs you can join. It depends on your interests. We have everything from sports to cultural clubs. If you're interested, you can even apply for the student council."
"That sounds interesting," I said. "I'll need to find something to do after classes, keep myself busy, and my old school didn't really have clubs outside of sports and music." And maybe find a way to keep an eye on the supernatural activity around here.
"Great. I'll arrange some introductions," Sona said, her eyes briefly flicking over me as if assessing something. "And remember, if you need anything, just ask."
"Will do. Thanks again, Shitori-san. And you too, Shinra-san," I added, nodding to the vice president who had remained quietly observant throughout the tour.
As I walked away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of impending adventure. This was just the beginning. With my Terraria powers, a chaotic god's whims, and the mysteries of Kuoh Academy, things were bound to get interesting. And maybe, just maybe, I'd find a way to make it all work. But first, I needed to survive and not get murdered… I should go get some better armor.
"Good plan. We don't want a repeat of last time," Asphodene chimed in, her voice filled with both humor and concern.
After the tour, I headed back to my place. My mind was buzzing with everything I'd learned today, both about the school and its students. High school in the world of DxD was no ordinary experience. But I couldn't afford to dwell on it too much. I needed to keep my head in the game.
I felt a strange sense of anticipation. The day had been overwhelming, and I was eager to escape back into the familiar, pixelated world of Terraria. Besides, I needed to strengthen my bond with the townsfolk and prepare for everything to come.
I focused on the ring that connected me to my first Terraria world I should really come up with a name for it... With a swirl of colors, a portal opened before me. I stepped through, feeling the familiar sensation of pixels enveloping me as I was transported to my world.
I found myself back in the lush plains where I had set up my base. The sun was high in the sky, and a gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the nearby trees. It was a stark contrast to the bustling hallways of Kuoh Academy. I took a moment to appreciate the tranquility before heading towards the town I had begun to establish.
"Hey, Seth!" I called out, spotting the guide near one of the houses. He looked up from his book and waved.
"Caelus! Welcome back. How was your day at school?" Seth asked, his tone friendly and curious.
"Exhausting," I admitted with a chuckle. "But it's good to be back here. I need to unwind and get some things done."
"Well, you've come to the right place," Seth replied. "By the way, Calvin and Gimli showed up a few hours ago. They're settling in, but they could use a proper introduction."
"Calvin and Gimli?" I repeated, curious.
"Yes, Calvin is the new merchant. He has a knack for trying to sell anything and everything he gets his hands on. Watch out, or you might end up buying something you don't need," Seth said with a grin.
I chuckled. "Sounds like a character. And Gimli?"
"Ah, Gimli is our demolitionist. Loves explosions a smidge too much, if you ask me. He's already managed to blow his hand off twice since he arrived, keeping Kaitlin busy with patching him up," Seth explained, shaking his head with a mixture of amusement and exasperation.
"Seriously? Twice already?" I asked, eyes widening.
"Yep. The guy's got a talent for getting himself injured, but he's got a heart of gold. You'll see," Seth assured me.
"Sounds like I should meet them," I said, feeling a sense of anticipation. Strengthening my bonds with the townsfolk would be crucial for my survival and growth in both worlds.
We walked through the small town, which was slowly beginning to take shape. A few wooden houses dotted the landscape, each serving as a basic shelter for the inhabitants. The quiet sounds of hammering and occasional chatter filled the air, giving the place a budding sense of community.
As we approached a small shop that I'm pretty sure had been a house just last night, an older man with a mischievous grin stepped out to greet us. His eyes twinkled with humor as he noticed us approaching.
"Ah, you must be Caelus," the man said, extending a hand. "Name's Calvin. Merchant by trade, dirty joke teller by nature."
"Nice to meet you, Calvin," I said, shaking his hand. "Seth's told me a bit about you."
"All good things, I'm sure," Calvin replied with a wink. "If you need anything, just let old Calvin know. I've got the best wares in town."
"I'll keep that in mind," I said, chuckling.
Next, we headed to a workshop where the sound of explosions and hearty laughter filled the air. A small, red-haired dwarf with a sooty face and a wide grin greeted us.
"Caelus! Welcome, lad!" Gimli bellowed, his voice booming. "Name's Gimli, and I'm your go-to guy for all things that go boom!"
"Nice to meet you, Gimli," I said, smiling. "I hear you have a bit of a habit of getting injured."
"Aye, that I do," Gimli admitted, rubbing a bandaged arm. "But what's life without a little risk, eh? Keeps Kaitlin busy, at least."
Kaitlin, the nurse, appeared at the door, shaking her head with a sigh, "Yes Gimli here seems to be my newest long-term care patient…"
"Just doing my part to keep you in practice," Gimli said with a laugh.
"I like this guy," Asphodene commented. "Though I think Kaitlin might disagree."
Later that evening, as the sun set and the sky turned a brilliant shade of orange, I sat by the campfire with Seth, Kaitlin, Calvin, and Gimli. We shared stories and laughter, enjoying the peace and warmth of the fire. The flickering flames cast a comforting glow.
"You know," I said, looking around at my companions, "I think I'm starting to get the hang of," gesturing to everything around us, "This."
"Of course you are," Seth said with a grin. "You've got a good head on your shoulders, and you're not afraid to get your hands dirty."
"Just remember," Kaitlin added, her eyes narrowing slightly, "we're all here because of you. Whatever challenges come our way, we'll face them together. But don't you dare mess things up, or you'll have me to deal with."
"Cheers to that," Gimli said, raising his mug with a hearty laugh. "To our town and the adventures ahead. Let's make this world something amazing."
"To our town," I echoed, raising my own mug. As we clinked our mugs together, I felt a renewed sense of determination. With these allies, I knew I could face whatever the future held. This world was mine to shape, and together, we would make it a place worth living in.
The morning sun filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground as I stepped out of my makeshift house. It was the weekend, and school didn't start until the next day. I had time to focus on strengthening myself, and my current priority was to get some decent armor.
After a quick breakfast, I headed to the clearing near the town where I had decided to face the Wulfrum enemies. My best bet was to use the battle cry I got from the starter bag. It was a horn that could increase or decrease enemy spawn rates, and I planned on using it to summon more Wulfrum enemies.
"Seth, I'm heading out to gather materials for some armor," I called out as I passed him near the town square.
"Be careful out there, Caelus," Seth replied. "Those Wulfrum enemies can be tricky, especially in large numbers."
"Don't worry, I've got this," I said with a confident grin, though my mind was racing with strategies. I needed this not just for the materials, but also to get better weapons.
I made my way to the clearing and took out the battle cry horn from my inventory. The horn was a simple yet powerful tool, capable of manipulating the world's spawn rates. I took a deep breath and blew into it, feeling a surge of energy ripple through the air.
Immediately, the forest around me seemed to come alive with mechanical whirring and buzzing. The Wulfrum enemies began to appear, their faint green/steel bodies glinting in the morning light. I quickly identified the different types: Wulfrum drones, gyrators, hovercrafts, rovers, and the cone-shaped amplifiers.
"Alright, let's do this," I muttered to myself, gripping my copper broadsword tightly. This was as much a training exercise as it was a hunt for materials.
The first wave of Wulfrum drones swooped towards me, their green lights glowing faintly. I swung my sword, striking one drone and sending it crashing to the ground in a shower of sparks. Another drone lunged at me, but I dodged to the side and countered with a quick slash.
Just as I started to feel a rhythm, a gyrator rolled towards me, its spherical body spinning rapidly. I jumped to the side, narrowly avoiding its charge, and struck it with my sword. The gyrator exploded into pieces, but I barely had time to catch my breath before a hovercraft swooped down, aiming straight for me.
I raised my sword just in time to block the hovercraft's attack, the impact sending vibrations up my arm and sending me sliding back stumbling a bit. Getting my feet planted, I pushed it back and delivered a powerful blow, dismantling the hovercraft in mid-air. My technique was still rough, but I was starting to get the hang of it.
"Keep it together, Cale," I told myself, scanning the area for more threats.
A rover came into view, its small, Roomba-like body zooming towards me. I quickly dispatched it with a downward strike, but then I noticed an amplifier lurking nearby. The cone-shaped enemy was generating an electric field, summoning more Wulfrum enemies as I approached.
"I need to take that thing out," I muttered, charging towards the amplifier.
As I entered the amplifier's electric field, I felt a tingling sensation, but I pushed through it and swung my sword with all my might. The amplifier shattered, and the summoning stopped, giving me a moment of respite.
I blew into the battle cry horn again, summoning another wave of enemies. This time, I was ready. Alongside the Wulfrum enemies, I also noticed the occasional slime hopping towards me, their jelly-like bodies shimmering in the light. With each enemy I defeated, I gathered valuable Wulfrum scraps and gel, which would be crucial for crafting my armor. The battle was intense, and my movements were still far from perfect, but I could feel myself improving with each swing of my sword.
Finally, after what felt like hours of fighting, I had collected enough Wulfrum materials. I wiped the sweat from my brow and headed back to the town, my inventory filled with scraps and components.
"How did it go?" Seth asked as I approached.
"Got what I needed," I replied, a satisfied smile on my face. "And got a bit better with the sword too. Time to craft some armor."
Back in my workshop, I carefully combined the Wulfrum scraps, using my knowledge from the game and some of Seth's occasional guidance. Piece by piece, I assembled the armor, feeling a sense of accomplishment with each completed section.
The armor wasn't anything great, and it would be getting replaced the moment I got something better but the fact I get a small speed boost, an additional summon and it reduced a smidge of damage was better than any other basic armor. Plus, as long as I have Wulfrum scrap in my inventory I can don a power suit!
Oh, I should also craft some of the other Wulfrum weapons while I'm at it.
Getting back to work, I started to piece together the Wulfrum controller, and the prosthesis. The summon weapon and the mage weapon. No, I am not wielding a giant screwdriver. Nor am I using that horrid blunderbuss.
Donning my armor, and then disabling the 'visibility' which was more akin to making it not exist while still giving me the benefits of the armor, I summoned my two mechanical drones as I went off to test my new weapons on some nearby slimes.
Finding a blue one nearby which had been quickly dispatched by the lasers my drones shot off, a giddy sense grew in my chest as I started to chuckle. "These two are fucking awesome." A new thought popped in my head, I'm pretty sure the god dude added the infinite minion's mod in here… which means I can craft an accessory that will give me a third summon out of fucking acorns!
Figuring I could test out my new mage weapon in a bit, the thought of having three laser drones was too enticing to pass up.
A few minutes of searching for some acorns in my storage system, and a quick crafting in the storage menu and I had an acorn bracelet.
Sliding it on, I could see a third icon pop up from my summoner UI. "ehehhehe… now this, this is good."
Taking a moment to bask in the glory of mods, I considered my next move. The memory of the mushroom biome and the heart crystals came to mind. Those crystals would grant me more health (still not sure how the fuck that translates to reality).
"Alright, time to head back to that mushroom biome," I decided, gearing up for the journey.
The path to the biome was familiar, yet treacherous. Navigating through the narrow caves, I kept my guard up. My three drones floated around me, their lasers ready to fire at any approaching threat.
As I entered the glowing blue expanse of the mushroom biome, the bioluminescent light cast an eerie yet enchanting glow across the cavern. I spotted the heart crystals on a small island in the pond.
"Let's get those crystals," I told my drones, who buzzed in acknowledgment.
Carefully making my way towards the island, I avoided the usual pitfalls and dangerous creatures. The sight of the two heart crystals side by side was too enticing to resist. From the shore, I noticed the water teeming with piranhas and jellyfish. Memories of dying to these bastards flooded my mind. These were the creatures that killed me.
A sickening grin spread across my face as I recalled that terrifying experience. "Well, well, look who it is," I muttered. "Time for some payback."
"Alright, drones, show them what we're made of," I commanded, a cackle escaping my lips.
My drones, sensing my frustration, quickly flew over the water and began zapping the offending creatures. The lasers cut through the water, striking the piranhas and jellyfish with precision. The sight of the piranhas and jellyfish scattering brought a petty satisfaction. "Yeah, take that," I muttered. "Mess with me, will you?"
With the area cleared, I waded through the water, my armor protecting me from the few remaining dangers lurking below. Reaching the island, I retrieved the heart crystals, feeling a surge of energy as they dissolved into a warm glow, increasing my maximum health. "Jackpot," I grinned, feeling more confident than ever.
Now that I had the heart crystals, it was time to delve deeper into the cave system. Mining for resources would not only help me improve my gear but also give me a chance to practice my combat skills.
Torch in hand, I ventured further into the depths, eager to see what other treasures I could find. The cave seemed to stretch on endlessly, with countless tunnels branching off in every direction.
Navigating through the labyrinthine passages, I encountered more slimes—blue, yellow, red—blobs bouncing toward me with surprising speed. My drones made quick work of them, their lasers slicing through the gelatinous foes.
As I ventured deeper, I stumbled upon a vein of silver ore. "Ooh… shiny~" I muttered, swinging my pickaxe to mine the precious metal.
Hours passed as I delved into the depths, collecting ores, and battling various monsters. The thrill of discovery and the constant danger kept me on edge, but with each challenge, I felt myself growing stronger.
As I ventured deeper into the cave system, the thrill of discovery and the constant danger kept me on edge. The bioluminescent light from the mushroom biome faded as I moved further into the depths, replaced by the dim glow of my torch.
Navigating through the labyrinthine passages, I noticed something glinting in the wall. Moving closer, I saw an opal ore sticking out from the rock. "Well, hello there," I muttered, pulling out my pickaxe.
I swung the pickaxe, chipping away at the stone until the opal was free. As I extracted it, I noticed more glimmers further into the wall. "Could it be?" I wondered aloud, digging deeper.
Sure enough, as I mined away the stone, I uncovered a hidden gemstone cave. The walls were studded with emeralds and rubies, sparkling in the torchlight. "Oh hell yea!" I grinned, my eyes wide with excitement.
For the next hour, I carefully mined the precious stones, adding a sizable collection of Opals and rubies to my inventory. The haul was impressive, and I couldn't wait to put them to use.
Back at my workshop, I aid out the gemstones and pondered my next move. Asphodene's voice echoed in my head. "Why not make an opal hook? It would be a great mobility tool."
"Good idea," I replied, getting to work on crafting the ruby hook. It didn't take long before I had a sturdy, reliable grappling hook made from the rubies I had found.
"Also," Asphodene added, "you could use those gemstones to make an enchanted sword locator. It's an orb that reveals the location of an enchanted sword. A really good weapon that you could use."
An enchanted sword locator? That sounded perfect. I began the crafting process, combining the gemstones with other materials. As I was about to finish, I realized I was missing one crucial component: fallen stars.
"Damn, I'm short on stars," I muttered. "I need those to complete the locator."
"Then you'll just have to wait for nightfall and collect some stars," Asphodene suggested.
"Good point," I said. With my new armor and weapons, I wasn't worried about dying to zombies or demon eyes anymore. Nighttime would be the perfect opportunity to gather the necessary stars.
As the sun began to set, I prepared for my night-time expedition. My armor felt secure, and my drones hovered protectively around me. The opal hook was clipped to my belt, ready to provide a quick escape if needed.
As darkness fell, I ventured out into the open, my eyes scanning the sky for falling stars. The first few minutes were uneventful, but soon enough, I spotted the telltale streaks of light.
I moved quickly, collecting the fallen stars as they landed. My drones zapped any approaching zombies or demon eyes, making the task easier. The night air was cool, and the sense of adventure kept me alert.
"Almost got enough," I murmured to myself, picking up another star. The landscape was dotted with the defeated forms of my enemies, my drones working tirelessly to keep the area clear.
Finally, after a few hours of star-hunting, I had gathered enough. I returned to my workshop, eager to complete the enchanted sword locator.
Combining the stars with the gemstones and other materials, I crafted the orb. It glowed with an ethereal light, ready to reveal the location of the enchanted sword.
"Now we're talking," I said, holding the orb up to the light. "Time to find that sword."
Covering his mouth as he yawned and look outside at the rising sun, "Though, maybe later… I need some sleep."
That's Chapter 3 folks! Cale has finally gotten to his first devil, and Asphodene likes to try and screw with Cale.
Anyways, Chapter question time! If you could have any item from Terraria, what would It be? Personally I'm stuck between the Meowmere (cause that would be funny as fuck to have in real life) and the stardust wings cause I think flying would be really fun.
