"I'm surprised."
"We did get for the kids," Beckett said with a smile as she sat next to her on the couch in the living room of hers and Castle's suite.
"And yet nothing for your oldest," Skye told her.
Shaking her head Beckett said, "We would have if she wasn't particular."
"I had a feeling that was the case," Skye said, smiling. She then said, "But you made some nice choices."
"So did you," Beckett said. "Though I'm surprised you got that sideways pot."
"That was Mary's pick, though Kath has always loved that one," Skye replied. She became thoughtful and said, "Why I didn't decide then to get pots for all our girls… But we got them and they'll go home on the plane tomorrow," looking at the writer when she spoke with a smile.
"And you don't mind you won't be able to see everything again until you're home?" Beckett asked.
"Oh no," Skye said reassuringly. She then smiled and said, "I'm surprised neither you nor Rick found anything at the mercantile."
"We looked," Beckett replied. "But the coloring books didn't really look great for the girls and Julia has enough sealing wax. You didn't get anything either."
"No, and I don't really mind," Skye said. She laughed when her friend looked at her in surprise and said, "To be honest with you the shirts and other things we bought our daughters… it was enough."
"I had the same thought for our kids," Beckett told her honestly, a little taken aback by the smile that spread across her friend's face.
"It's still funny to see you two as grandparents," Skye said. "But you're enjoying it still?"
"Of course," Beckett said firmly.
"How many times have you babysat them at your home?" Skye then asked.
"Three times," Beckett said. She couldn't help smiling and said, "Though we've had to push Alexis and Louis to go out for us to be able to do that."
"Oh, that's a good sign," Skye said in amusement. "You want the parents to regret leaving their kids behind." She wasn't surprised when Beckett laughed and agreed with her before she said, "Did you need to do the same about the B ?'
"Of course," Beckett said again. She then said, "But we're not leaving the kids anywhere until our anniversary." She then realized what she's said and told her, "Sorry," before the investigator was speaking quickly.
"Don't worry, the kids understand," Skye replied. She then said, "But we're getting a little… grim. I'm wondering where our spouses are."
"Are you hungry?" Beckett asked, leaning over to get her phone.
"No, I'd like to see my wife," Skye said. When her friend looked at her she shrugged and said, "I'm thinking of my next out of town case."
"You won't have it for a while," Beckett pointed out to her, sitting back.
"Thankfully," Skye replied firmly. She then smiled a little and said, "I'm glad you guys didn't come to our suite."
"Really?" Beckett asked jokingly, giving her a look.
"I just wanted to let you know why exactly we didn't host you today," Skye replied. She then leaned back a little and said, "Do you have any questions?"
"No," Beckett replied. "Though… I guess I wonder if that's possible."
"Moving around all over? It is," Skye said before they turned to the sound of the door unlocking. "Hopefully that answered your one question."
"It did," Beckett said laughingly. "Since you wanted me to ask it." She couldn't help laughing again when her friend stuck her tongue out at her and she did the same briefly before they went to help their spouses with their dinner.
"Okay," Castle said after they'd gotten everything on the dining room table. "Luckily we got everything and now we can eat."
"We can," Beckett said. "Though we need some drinks."
"Oh, I'll grab them," Castle said at the reminder before he was hurrying to the entry. He got the cup carrier before returning to the table and said, "Hopefully you don't mind what we picked," looking at his wife expectantly as she spoke.
"We don't," Skye said first. "Though why exactly did they have Sidral?"
"Beats me, but they had it and I had a craving," Mary said before Castle could respond. She wasn't surprised when her wife was laughing and she touching Skye's arm before they were turning their attention to the food and beginning to eat.
"Ah, still as good as it was the first time we had it," the investigator eventually said.
"Why am I not surprised you said that?" Beckett asked her in amusement. "But it is good."
"Glad to hear that," Skye said. She then looked at Castle and said, "You didn't get dessert."
"I was tempted, the baklava looked really good," he responded. "But Mary talked me out of it."
"I didn't forget the candy," the doctor said with a smile before she was eating a fry. "It was fun today."
"It was," Beckett agreed. "And again, I'm glad we did this."
"But not next year," Castle said before the four of them were laughing together. When they'd calmed down he then said, "Though should we try again another year?"
"Depends on where you go after next year," Skye said.
"Which means wait," Mary said.
"I figured," Castle said with a nod. He then said, "What do you two do in Santa Barbara?"
"You don't mean what we're going to do?" Skye asked.
"No, unless you've planned already," Castle said. It struck him suddenly and he said, "Then you have."
"And you got your suite," Beckett said with a smile.
Nodding and smiling, Skye said, "From the twelfth to the sixteenth."
"I reserved for the same," Castle said. He wasn't surprised when the investigator was looking at him and said, "But we haven't planned."
"We idly talked about it," Mary said before her wife could say anything though she was speaking shortly after.
"She's right, we discussed going to the zoo and the wharf of course," Skye said. "But other than that we'll wait."
"We'll do the same," Beckett said, looking pointedly at her husband.
"She's right," Castle agreed with her. "Though we'll probably just… go to museums."
"Gambling?" Mary asked.
"We will," Beckett said before she smiled. She then said, "It's inevitable but we don't do it that much."
"Neither have we," Skye said. She then said thoughtfully, "I had the thought of suggesting to you guys to go to Vegas instead this year. But I think it's better you go on your own; be odd waiting for you to come from the villa."
When the writers didn't say anything, Mary shot a smile at her wife before she said, "You were right."
"She was right?" Castle asked.
"Don't shake your head," Beckett commented when the investigator was doing so. "You teased me about my question earlier."
"What question?" Castle said in slight confusion.
Explaining it, Beckett was a little startled when Mary groaned and she said, "That was… bad?"
"No, I told her not to mention yesterday or this morning," the doctor explained.
Shaking her head Beckett said, "I asked her."
"Still," Mary replied.
"I had to answer her," Skye said, unable to help smiling. "It would have been rude not to."
Rolling her eyes Mary said, "I guess I can't get mad at you for that."
"And she's done that before," Castle suddenly said. When the women were looking at him he said, "In our past life, I think you told me you'd asked your sister about that."
"True," Beckett said with a smile. "I was wondering."
"I remember now," Skye said, nodding. She then said, "You were a little… miffed at me."
"Not because you were intimate with someone first, because I wanted to be with him," Beckett said, nodding to her husband next to her.
"But you still were," Skye said before Castle was clearing his throat before he spoke.
"You don't want to stop there?" he suggested.
Smiling, Beckett said, "We probably should. Since you said you didn't want to talk about it."
"I know," Mary said laughingly. She then told her wife, "Think of something grá."
Laughing, Skye said, "What're you planning on doing tomorrow?"
"Once we're home or at the airport?" Beckett asked.
"At home," Skye said simply.
"Well, it'll probably be around dinner," Castle said when his wife looked at him. "So we'll need to eat and then we'll spend time with the kids."
"They'll need to choose," Beckett added.
"It might be the game room," Castle said, not surprised when she nodded.
"I hope it will be to be honest," Beckett told them. "I'm not sure about swimming."
"Neither am I," Mary said. "We'll be tired."
"But the game room will be nice," Skye said.
"You realize we have the same games," Castle said.
"You know I wanted to ask you about that," Mary told them. "Are you ever going to change anything?"
"I don't know," Castle replied first, looking at his wife. When she shrugged he said, "If the girls ever get bored then we would have to talk about it." He paused before he told her, "We'd have to limit them going in," not surprised she was laughing and then speaking once she'd calmed down.
"You want to try and do that?" Beckett asked.
"That's what the pool room and bowling lanes are for," Castle said. He wasn't surprised at the doubtful looks on the others' faces and said, "Granted they're going to pick what they want so…"
"Are you asking for your arcade room?" Beckett asked.
"Sort of," Mary said, smiling. "But for now I think we're good."
"And Friday we're leaving for the B ," Skye then said.
"We are, but later since we want to see the girls' dance class," Beckett said. "And to let the others finish work that need to."
"Speaking of that," Skye said. "I had the idea to ask you guys if we could ask Mia and Philippa to join us but that wouldn't… work would it?"
"They're going," Castle said. He couldn't help chuckling slightly at the way the McDouglas women's eyes widened and he said, "Brad invited them."
"Really, I thought because they're not … part of our usual group," Skye said.
"They've gotten close to Brad and Lily," Beckett explained. "She and Mia bonded because their significant others are police. And they asked all of us if it was okay."
"You didn't ask us," Mary pointed out.
"Was it supposed to be a surprise?" Skye asked before the writers could say anything.
"No, Mia and Philippa weren't sure if they would come," Beckett said slightly laughingly. "But I got a text before I sat with you on the couch," she told Skye, not surprised when she was responding.
"They agreed to it," the investigator stated. At the writer's nod Skye said, "Hopefully they won't feel awkward."
"We'll have to make sure you and Patrick won't do that to them," Mary told her wife. She smiled when the investigator made a face at her and then said, "I think they'll be fine, they were with us on New Year's Eve."
"Good point," Skye commented. She then looked at her container and said, "So we finished… now what?"
Laughing briefly, Beckett said, "I'm not surprised you're asking. To be honest we can either watch TV together or you can head back to your suite."
"Would you be angry if we chose the former?" Skye asked.
"Not at all," Castle said first, feeling like his wife would want him to. He then said, "Though what do we watch?"
"Just go through the channels," Mary suggested.
"Sure," Castle replied quickly before they got up and then began to clear everything up.
Once they'd finished, the four gathered on the couch and Beckett turned on the TV before they were soon settling on a movie so they could move on to their dessert until they'd separate for the night.
"Okay, I have everything packed I don't need still," Skye said, walking into the bedroom.
"You didn't leave anything out there?" Mary asked.
"No," Skye replied firmly before her wife was closing her suitcase before she then spoke in the same tone.
"Sit down grá," Mary told her. She couldn't help smiling when her wife's eyes widened and she immediately complied before she cupped her face with her hands.
"What do you want to do?" Skye said, still a little surprised at her wife's tone.
"Just this," Mary told her before she leaned down and kissed her tenderly. When she had pulled away she said, "I'd like to do more but I'm really afraid of us not being able to stop ourselves."
Standing up after she'd taken her wife's hands with her own, Skye said, "I think we can manage."
"You're sure?" Mary asked. At her wife's simple nod she said, "Then we should start. Are you ready?"
"You aren't," Skye immediately shot back teasingly.
"I will be," Mary said, unable to help smiling when her wife was helping her with her suitcase. With the bed cleared they took off their robes and turned off the lights before she said, "It was fun."
"The trip?" Skye asked, laying on her back so her wife could lay against her side.
"Yes, but I was referencing yesterday more," Mary said.
"Definitely," Skye replied, smiling when her wife laughed.
When she had calmed down Mary said, "I am looking forward to Santa Barabara."
"Should we go before next year?" Skye asked.
Shaking her head Mary said, "Unless we have the option I think we should just leave it for next year," not surprised her wife was letting out a mock groan before she was agreeing with her.
"You're right, but that makes me remember when we were first discovering the ability to do that at your home," Skye said. "In our past life."
Raising her head, Mary kissed at her wife's collarbone and said, "Me too, it was great we had the opportunity." She paused and then reminded her wife saying, "But we had to stay in my suite, the servants?"
"But you had a suite," Skye reminded her.
"True," Mary said. "Remember we tried something in the library?"
"You tried," Skye said teasingly.
"Because I wanted you," Mary said before they were laughing together. When they were calming down she eventually said, "But I treasured those weekends we had."
"But you didn't mind moving in with me at Alamo Square," Skye said.
"Why would I?" Mary immediately responded. "But you know we were talking about something else before this," she said quickly before her wife could speak, reaching up to her and making her look down to her. She moved up enough then to kiss her and once she had pulled away said, "Tomorrow night."
"You don't want to wait for the B grá?" Skye asked her.
"No," Mary replied firmly. "There's no need to."
"I love you," Skye breathed before she and her wife were kissing again.
After they had been involved in that for a while, Mary pulled away first and murmured, "Love you too Rose."
Trembling for a moment in response to her wife's tone of voice, Skye brushed her lips to the doctor's before she said, "We should sleep."
"It's why I said tomorrow," Mary said, smiling at her wife's response.
"Great, we're in agreement at least," Skye said. They kissed again but were doing so gently before they laid back down and said goodnight to each other. She wasn't surprised to find she was dreaming swiftly about one of the weekends they'd been remembering in their past life.
"I'm exhausted," Mary said as she got off of Rose and laid on the bed. "But that was wonderful."
"It was," Rose agreed with a smile, watching as her lover turned over onto her back. She couldn't help herself, reaching up and gently cupping her hand over Mary's breast that was furthest from her before she was making her stop. "I thought you said it was wonderful," she said in feigned protest.
Shaking her head Mary said, "We need to eat, they'll have dinner ready for us."
Sighing, Rose said, "I suppose you're right. But I didn't want to get dressed."
"Fresh," Mary told her before her lover was pulling her close for a kiss. She responded to it happily, feeling Rose move to lay on top of her before she recalled what they'd been talking about. "Wait, we mustn't."
Sighing in frustration, Rose said, "I'd nearly forgotten." She then let go of Mary and watched her getting up before she followed at her lover's pointed look and they helped each other dress. When their hair was swept up into buns she said, "I wish I could go without a corset every day."
"Imagine the scandal," Mary said teasingly to her. She laughed softly when Rose nodded and she took her hand, pulling her to her for a kiss before they were leaving her suite. She greeted the servants in passing and was relieved they were acting normally before they were entering the dining room. After their dinner was served they both thanked the servant before they began to eat in silence while they were leaving. She was smiling when Rose was immediately speaking as soon as they were alone.
"I suppose there's something to be said for being in the rest of your home," she said. "It is very nice."
"Thank you," Mary said slightly laughingly. "Is there somewhere you'd like to go after this?"
Though she had wanted to say immediately her lover's bedroom, Rose held herself back and said, "Perhaps we might play some music on the piano."
"I would love to," Mary said firmly in agreement. She smiled and then said, "I have some new sheet music."
"I can't wait to see," Rose said before they were eating in silence again. That was only briefly before she said, "Did you see the paper this morning?"
"The report on the new hairstyles?" Mary asked immediately. At her nod, she said with a smile, "I did, Mother and Father were disgusted but I argued for it."
"Does that mean you'll be getting your hair done that way?" Rose inquired interested.
Gently touching the back of her neck, Mary said, "Maybe not. But I would love to cut it. It takes me far too long to prepare it for when I leave the house."
"I agree," Rose said. Before her lover could ask if she wanted to bob her hair she said, "What's the new music you have?"
Giving her a look, since she knew what her lover was doing, Mary related the titles before she said, "I haven't practiced them yet but they seem very nice."
"I'm looking forward to that," Rose said before they were turning their attention back to their meal. When they had finished they were moving to the parlor and her eyes went to the Victrola before she said, "Oh, couldn't we play the records?"
"You want to do that?" Mary asked, watching her raising the lid to the player.
"Oh please, we could dance together," Rose begged her.
"Alright, but I'll choose the first," Mary said firmly before she was walking to the bottom of the Victrola where the records were. Once she had found one she put it on and was lowering the needle after Rose had cranked it to start it turning. With the music playing, she and her lover were moving to dance to the fast music in the space that was clear, laughing together until they were breathless and had to stop.
Falling onto the couch before Mary was following her, Rose said, "I enjoyed that so much more than at home."
"It can't be that bad," Mary told her.
"No, but I'm with family there. Not with you," Rose said firmly. She was a little surprised when her lover was looking at the doorway before she sat up. She did the same asking, "Are you-" before Mary was kissing her tenderly on the lips. Though she was startled it was only momentary and they were kissing a little harder before they were slowly pulling away from each other. "Do we need to stay here?" she asked.
"Oh no, we should go," Mary replied before they were getting up and doing their best not to run as they made their way to the stairs.
"Are you finished?" Beckett asked her husband.
"Yeah, you aren't?" Castle said as he walked up to her.
"I just did," Beckett replied before she paused when her husband was wrapping his arms around her. She smiled and straightened up before she reached up and covered his hands with hers saying, "You're lucky you know."
"Why's that?" Castle replied, nuzzling at her hair.
"If I wasn't finished I would have shrugged you off," Beckett explained, smiling though he wouldn't be able to see that.
"I would have taken my chances," Castle said. When she scoffed he said, "What? You don't like me clutching you tightly to me?" He paused and commented, "That's a great line, we should use it in the book," shaking himself when his wife was speaking.
"You want to think about our books now?" Beckett asked.
"I can't?" Castle asked jokingly before she was turning around in his hold.
"I want you to focus on me," Beckett said.
"Oh, I wouldn't worry about that," Castle replied, holding her closer to him. They were kissing gently before he said, "Though we do have to worry about that."
"I know," Beckett said. "To be honest…"
"Already?" Castle asked, pretending to whine. He wasn't surprised when she was letting go of him and said, "I figured it was going to happen soon. But I'm not happy about it."
"I'm not either," Beckett replied, about to reach for her suitcase. She was startled when her husband stopped her and smiled as she followed him to the closet where he set it down. "Thank you," she told him once he turned to her.
Leaning down to her, Castle brushed his lips to hers and said, "You're welcome… can we do something?"
Beckett smiled and reached for his hand, pulling him after her to the bed before she said, "I don't think so."
"Seriously? I was just thinking of kissing you," Castle said.
"Are you sure?" Beckett replied. She laughed when he was nodding his head rapidly, and she leaned over to him so she could wrap her arms around him tightly. "As long as that's it."
"It is," Castle said firmly before he leaned down to her and was taking her lips gently. When she immediately responded he deepened it carefully, pleased when she parted her lips to his tongue. They were rubbing against one another until they were very carefully pulling apart and he said, "Thank you."
Beckett merely smiled before she leaned her cheek against his shoulder and said, "I hate to say it-"
"Oh don't worry," Castle interrupted her before he was carefully brushing his lips to hers. "I know that's it but I can hold you right?"
"Yes," Beckett said, laughing softly before they were letting each other go at the same time. Walking around to her side of the bed she took off her robe and set it down before she said, "That reminded me of our honeymoon." When her husband was looking at her she said, "Our past life," with a smile before her husband was responding at the same time they got into bed.
"I figured, I never really had to ask if I could hold you," Castle said. "You threw yourself at me." He paused when she gave him a look and said, "Am I wrong?"
"I didn't throw myself at you," Beckett said as she watched him taking off his glasses once they were sitting up on the bed. "We were attached at the hip essentially, so it wasn't necessary."
"You make a good point," Castle said, smiling when she nudged his side. He reached for her then, cupping her face with his hand and leaning into her. Kissing her firmly he soon pulled back enough to murmur against her lips, "I love you Kate."
"I love you too," Beckett replied before he was kissing her again. She wasn't surprised when it was stronger than the one before it and did her best to hold onto her self-control before she was carefully moving her head back. "Rick," she told him when he began to lean into her.
"Sorry, I… we should get the lights," Castle started to say. He and Beckett moved at the same time and once the room was plunged into darkness he said, "We can't be together tomorrow night can we?"
"I don't know if we'll feel up to it," Beckett said, waiting to answer him until they were laying down. She squeezed his hand saying, "The B remember."
"Believe me, I am," Castle assured her.
"Pervert," Beckett teased him with a smile. She raised her head at that moment and kissed him gently before she told him, "So you'll get some sleep."
"I will after you stop attacking me with your lips," Castle quipped. He laughed when she pinched at his side and took her hand, bringing it up to his lips so he could kiss her palm. "Goddess," he told her seriously, just able to see her by then and her smile before he heard her verbal response.
"Sheik," Beckett said. "We really should stop there though love," she then told him seriously.
Nodding Castle was quick to say, "Can I say one thing before we sleep?"
"Go ahead," Beckett replied, still smiling while she was moving to lay down.
"It was an incredible honeymoon," Castle said. "Learning with you how exactly our lovemaking was going to be."
"It didn't worry you?" Beckett asked, tilting her head so she could look up at him. "You had little experience and neither did I. Also we had no form of protection."
"No to your first question and as for protection…" Castle started to say, pulling her a little closer to him while he was speaking. "That was why we married wasn't it." He was relieved when his wife smiled at him and he took the opportunity to kiss her again. Though he wanted to linger he made it brief and after they had parted he said, "We should have talked about children then."
"It would have made things awkward I think," Beckett said. She brushed her lips to his jaw and said, "But everything did work out."
"It did," Castle agreed. "And now we need to sleep."
"Now we need to sleep," Beckett echoed, smiling when her husband playfully groaned. She initiated another kiss but kept that brief before she was laying down and said, "Goodnight love."
"Night Kate," Castle said, watching her as she relaxed against him. Feeling when she was asleep in the weight of her body, he then heard her deeper breathing and smiled to himself before he closed his eyes.
The next morning, in their hurry to leave for the airport, neither Castle nor Beckett were surprised when they discovered they'd both dreamt of the third full day of their honeymoon in their past life. They suspected it was that day since it been when they had felt far more at ease in their activities and had a hint to how things would be concerning their intimacy through their lives.
Crying out her husband's name, Kate wasn't sure when she stopped doing so or when her body had ceased all movement. She couldn't notice, since her body was trembling still in the aftershocks of her husband's stimulation and she was taking in everything she felt at that moment. Eventually he was slumped on her and she ran her fingers over his back to feel how tense he was in his satiety. "Are you with me?" she eventually asked when she heard his breathing wasn't so heavy.
"Barely," Rick replied before he raised his head. "You're so beautiful Kate."
"Hmm, you're a Sheik," she responded immediately. She was relieved she'd been able to relate that to her husband, since he was kissing her and hard as soon as the words were out of her mouth. Responding, Kate tightened her arms and legs around him until he was breaking away from her and gasping heavily. "What's wrong?" she asked in concern.
"It's… it's your cunny," Rick said, relieved his cheeks weren't flushing deeply since he wasn't used to the word fully yet. "It was moving."
"I couldn't help it," Kate replied, cursing the blush she felt rising on her face.
"Don't worry," Rick said immediately to reassure her. "I enjoyed it but…"
"Why-" Kate started to say in protest before her husband was kissing her. Though he had withdrawn from her body and she was upset, she couldn't resist his lips or his tongue when it was caressing at her own. Eventually they needed to stop to catch their breath and she was about to ask her husband to make love to her again when he let out a strangled groan and moved away from her to sit on the side of the bed. "Rick, what's wrong?" she asked in obvious concern while she wrapped her arms around him. When he merely shook his head she hesitated before she decided she needed to know since she had become his wife and she was about to ask him again when he spoke before she could.
"I… I'm hurting you Kate," Rick said.
"You aren't," she immediately answered, smiling when her husband turned to her in surprise at her fervent tone. "I love being with you. And I was going to ask you to do that with me again but you kept me from it."
"Are you sore?" Rick asked, looking back at her.
"Yes, because you won't let me take your cock into my cunny again," Kate said, feeling her cheeks growing warm again but doing her best to ignore that. Since she was watching her husband closely she was ready for the kiss he gave her at her words, but she ended it eventually to pull him closer to her. "Now Rick," she commanded.
"I can't resist you my love," he told her seriously, trying to handle how much her tone aroused him. She brushed her lips to his and he was quick to grab her, turning her around so she was on top of him.
"Like this?" Kate asked him. She bit her lower lip for a moment when her husband was nodding seriously and she said softly, "Help me." She wasn't surprised when he was eagerly doing so and soon she was lowering herself on his length, gasping as her husband was groaning her name while he sheathed firmly within her. "Oh… oh Rick I still can't…" she started to say once he was fully within her and their hips were pressed together.
"Can't what?" Rick asked her when she didn't continue. He moved to kiss around her neck and he urged her, "Tell me my love."
Biting at her lower lip again, Kate finally told him, "Believe how good this is… how good you feel," gasping at the end when he was nibbling at her neck through her hair before he mumbled against her skin.
"I feel the same," Rick told her. He pulled away after he'd nipped at her pulse and told her seriously, "Do you want to move?" He was a little startled when she obviously hesitated, a slight blush staining her cheeks, and he urged her to speak saying, "You can tell me, I will do anything for you Kate."
With how seriously her husband had spoken, Kate found the courage to say, "Before I start, touch me please."
"Where?" Rick immediately responded, feeling a thrill at her request pass through his body.
"Anywhere," Kate said, relieved she wasn't blushing harder. She was soon throwing her head back when her husband immediately caressed her breasts and she let out a moan before he bowed his head. Gasping when his lips joined his hands shortly after, she moved her hands from his back to his head, holding him for a moment before he was moving. When he began to very gently suckle at her breasts her eyes rolled back and she was moaning to him.
Eventually the sound of his wife's pleasure was too much for Rick to take, and he urged her to begin moving on him though he didn't stop touching her as she had requested. They kissed at the same time, and he was pleased when they found their pleasure nearly as one though his mind became distracted by the feel of her around him.
When they had calmed down and were laying together on the bed Kate said softly, "I never thought being a wife would be like this."
Laughing a little breathily, Rick turned onto his side and reached up to her, gently caressing her cheek telling her, "I didn't think it would be so swell to be a husband. Thank you for proving me wrong."
Kate couldn't help laughing softly herself before she snuggled closer to him and he laid on his side. With his arms around her she said, "Are you tired?"
Just as he was going to answer, Rick looked down towards his stomach when it grumbled and he sighed while his wife laughed softly next to him. "I suppose that will be a sufficient answer," he told her.
"It is, I'll get lunch," Kate replied, kissing him and then sitting up. She could feel her husband's eyes were on her as she walked around to where her robe had been thrown. She reveled in the sensation of it since it was arousing her without having to make sure he was enjoying what he saw; she already was aware. "I may make something small," she told him, going to the armoire in the room where they'd hung the clothes they hadn't touched for nearly two full days.
"Wear your nightgown. And I don't care," Rick said. He smiled when his wife furrowed her brows at him and said, "We could return to the bed faster if you don't wear glad rags."
"I thought we would eat on the bed," Kate replied though she was grabbing the item.
"In glad rags?" Rick asked in surprise. He was startled when his wife suddenly hurried to him and he was holding her as she threw her arms around him and they fell to the mattress. Their meal was forgotten as they were eagerly kissing again, indulging in their desire they'd had to suppress for so long.
"I think we have everything," Castle told his wife as they stood in the entry of their suite.
"I hope so, we already checked out," Beckett reminded him.
"Okay, then we better go," Castle replied before he followed her out into the hall.
Going down to the lobby, Beckett was surprised when they didn't meet the McDouglas women on the way. But they soon found the women were already waiting for them and she said, "You're quick."
"Call it a habit," Skye said as they walked out to the valet for their car.
"A nervous habit," Mary said. She smiled when her wife gave her a look before she said, "It's a habit. But it doesn't hurt to be there early."
"Are you going to take pictures?" Skye asked Beckett.
"Probably, the girls would wonder why I didn't," the writer responded with a smile.
Skye nodded and turned her attention to getting their rental car before she drove them to the airport. Once they'd given the car back they were heading into the airport itself and checking in their luggage. Going through security went smoothly and she said as they were heading to their gate, "Did you lot have breaky?"
"No, we couldn't get up," Castle said. When the McDouglas women were looking at him he shrugged and said, "Dream about our past life."
"We had one too… about the same day," Mary said.
"Same for us," Castle replied before they were all turning to his wife.
"Yes I realize what that means," Beckett said in mock annoyance. "But I am starving, so we should probably eat first. And get some hot chocolate."
Laughing Skye said, "Great, what do you want to eat?"
"Anything with bacon," Castle said, not surprised when the women laughed.
"We might need to walk, but it'll be good," Skye told them.
"It sounds like you're talking from experience," Beckett told her after she and her husband had agreed to where she had in mind.
"A lot," Mary said firmly, not surprised when they were all looking at each other and laughing.
As they were walking past the gates, Castle couldn't help reaching for his wife's hand before he told her, "This was a great trip."
"It was," Beckett replied, entwining their fingers. "And we have another to go."
Pulling her hand up to his lips, Castle pressed a kiss to the back of it and murmured, "I can't wait."
"Neither can I," Beckett said with a smile, keeping her voice low as he had. They shared a brief kiss before they were turning to their friends who were calling to them to enter the café for the last breakfast of their San Diego trip.
