The familiar sound of the Chaldea command room was filled with the rhythmic clicking of computers and the hum of magic circuits. Ritsuka Fujimaru stood at the center of it all, his brow furrowed in concentration as he oversaw the latest mission report. As a Master of Chaldea, it was his duty to make sure the singularities were rectified and humanity's future preserved. But today… things were about to take an unexpected turn.
"Master, there's an anomaly in the system," Mash Kyrielight's voice broke through the buzz, her normally calm demeanor tinged with concern. She tapped at her tablet, eyes narrowing as the screen flickered.
"A new anomaly?" Ritsuka raised an eyebrow, his hand pausing in mid-air as he was about to scroll through some documents. "Is it another singularity?"
"No," Mash replied, adjusting her glasses. "This one isn't linked to any known phenomenon we've encountered before. It's not a typical disturbance from the Throne of Heroes or the Lostbelt… but something else. Something… strange."
Before Ritsuka could ask more, the lights in the room flickered, and a ripple ran through the air—a strange distortion, like a tear in the very fabric of space and time.
"What the hell is this?" Ritsuka muttered, standing up. "It's coming from… over there?"
The distortion intensified, a loud crackling sound echoing through the room. Mash reached for her weapon, her instincts on high alert. "Master, get behind me—"
"Don't worry, I've got it," Ritsuka said, pulling out his command seals, ready for any eventuality. His voice trailed off as the strange light in the middle of the room expanded rapidly, creating a glowing vortex. Before anyone could act, the distortion opened wide—revealing a figure emerging from the blinding light.
A man, clad in a purple gi with a sword at his back, appeared. His hair was a striking lavender, spiked in a way that was almost unnatural, and his expression was one of intense confusion. He looked around, scanning the room with a furrowed brow.
"Where… am I?" the man muttered, his voice calm yet uncertain. His hand instinctively moved to his sword, ready for any threat.
Ritsuka stepped forward cautiously. "Who are you? And where did you come from?"
The stranger blinked, his eyes narrowing as he took in the unfamiliar surroundings. "This doesn't look like any place I've ever been. And no, I'm not supposed to be here." He looked down at his hands, then back at the strange group in front of him. His voice held a note of frustration as he continued, "I was just in the middle of a trip. I'm Future Trunks."
"Future Trunks?" Ritsuka echoed, his mind racing. "You're from… the future?"
"Obviously," Trunks replied, crossing his arms. "But I don't understand how I ended up here. I was just using my time machine to head back to my timeline after I warned the others about the androids—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Mash spoke up, her voice tinged with suspicion. "Time machine? That sounds like something out of the…"
"Out of a storybook?" Ritsuka finished for her, his voice laced with disbelief.
Trunks gave an exasperated sigh. "I know how it sounds, but it's the truth. I come from a future where the world is devastated by two androids. I'm the son of Vegeta and Bulma, and I've been fighting to save what's left of humanity. But… I must've messed up the coordinates on my time machine and somehow landed here instead of back home."
Ritsuka's eyes widened. "Wait, what? You're from the future, fighting androids, and you're telling me you've ended up here by mistake?"
Trunks gave a dry laugh, his tone one of disbelief. "That's what it looks like."
Mash's confusion mirrored Ritsuka's. "I… I don't understand," she said, looking at the strange man—no, this warrior—in front of them. "How do you know where you came from if you're from the future? This shouldn't be possible… time travel doesn't even work that way."
"I'm not sure," Trunks admitted, rubbing his temple. "But I was certain I knew where I was going. I had coordinates locked in for my timeline. Maybe something went wrong with the machine's systems. All I know is that I'm stuck here, and if I don't figure out how to get back, it could mess up everything."
Ritsuka, still trying to process the flood of information, exchanged a glance with Mash. "Well, for what it's worth, you're here now. And if there's one thing I know, it's that Chaldea has a way of dealing with all sorts of anomalies. We'll figure it out together."
Trunks hesitated, clearly still uneasy. "Okay...but I don't think you're able to help with my problem."
