The room was quiet, only the faint hum of the machinery and the occasional beep from the terminals breaking the silence. Trunks stood at the side, still processing his unexpected arrival at Chaldea, while Ritsuka, Mash, and the others exchanged looks, trying to make sense of everything.
"Okay, so we've got a time traveler who's completely lost," Ritsuka muttered, rubbing his temples. "And now we need to find his time machine and send him back. Great."
Mash nodded, adjusting her glasses. "And we have to deal with this anomaly in the meantime. It's unlike anything we've ever encountered before."
Trunks crossed his arms, his eyes still scanning the strange, high-tech surroundings. "At this point, I'm not sure what's more ridiculous—the fact that I ended up in some random dimension or that I'm surrounded by people who are acting like it's no big deal." He looked over at the two of them. "You two don't even seem that surprised by all this."
"You'd be surprised what we've seen," Ritsuka replied with a grin. "Time anomalies, summoned heroes, and people from alternate worlds—just another day at Chaldea."
Mash gave a small smile, but before she could say anything further, the air in the room suddenly began to ripple again, the familiar distortion filling the air. The humming noise escalated, followed by an almost theatrical explosion of light.
Ritsuka's eyes widened. "Not again."
"Stay alert, everyone," Mash said, her stance shifting into a defensive position.
From the blinding light, five figures appeared, each one more eccentric than the last. They struck poses, their bodies bursting with flamboyant energy.
"Attention, lowly humans!" a voice boomed dramatically. "The great Ginyu Force has arrived!"
Ritsuka blinked in disbelief, his face falling into a look of confusion. "The Ginyu Force?"
Trunks stared at the newcomers with an expression of utter bafflement. "What… who the hell are these weirdos?"
The five figures before them were something straight out of a bizarre dream—or nightmare, depending on one's perspective.
First came Captain Ginyu, the leader, a tall, purple-skinned alien with a white uniform and a distinctive frog-shaped helmet. He stood with his chest puffed out, his hands on his hips, striking an exaggerated pose. His confident grin only added to the absurdity.
"I am Captain Ginyu of the Ginyu Force!" he declared, pointing dramatically at Ritsuka, Mash, and Trunks. "You should be honored to be in the presence of the greatest mercenary squad in the universe!"
Following him were the four other members, each with their own unique flair. Jeice, the red-skinned, white-haired warrior, flexed his muscles as he blew a kiss in the air. Burter, tall, muscular, and sporting a ridiculous grin, struck a pose that emphasized his long legs. Recoome, with his towering hair and bulky body, grinned wide, his arms outstretched as if waiting for applause. Finally, there was Guldo, the smallest of the group, with his green skin and glasses, who stood still with his arms crossed, his expression one of smug superiority.
They all held their poses, waiting for some kind of recognition.
Ritsuka's mouth hung open, completely speechless. Mash's eyes widened, her glasses nearly slipping off her face in disbelief.
"The Ginyu Force?" Ritsuka repeated, his voice flat, still processing the absurdity of the situation.
"Yes, yes! We are mercenaries for the mighty Frieza!" Captain Ginyu interrupted with excitement. "We are famous throughout the universe for our power and grace. You may have heard of us—!"
Trunks shook his head in confusion. "What is this? Some kind of joke?" He rubbed his temples. "I've never seen anything like this before."
"They can't be real," Mash muttered under her breath. "This… this is beyond anything we've ever dealt with."
Captain Ginyu, still holding his pose, looked around at the trio. "Hmph. It seems you lowly humans are lacking in taste and refinement. Perhaps you've never seen true power before."
Mash took a deep breath, trying to keep calm. "I don't know what kind of joke this is, but—"
"Joke?" Jeice interrupted with a scowl. "We're the greatest mercenaries in the universe, girl! Do you know how many planets we've conquered?"
"I've got to hand it to you, though," Burter chimed in, stepping forward, "you humans sure do know how to create strange… 'time anomalies' or whatever you call them. Not sure what kind of deal this is, but we're happy to grace you with our presence."
Ritsuka stared blankly. "Wait, are you telling me you guys are from another universe, or whatever? You're just… here?"
"Of course, we are," Guldo said smugly, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "It's obvious, isn't it? We're not some low-tier mercenaries! We're the Ginyu Force! You should be grateful to be in our presence."
Trunks shook his head, unable to keep quiet any longer. "I don't care about any of this. You guys… You really don't look like mercenaries. You're all—" He struggled for the right words, shaking his head in exasperation. "—insane. What kind of warriors dress like this? Is this a joke?"
Captain Ginyu glanced at Trunks, raising an eyebrow in irritation. "What did you say, kid?" His voice darkened. "You have some nerve questioning the might of the Ginyu Force."
Jeice stepped forward, cracking his knuckles. "You got a problem, boy?"
Before the situation could escalate further, Ritsuka held up his hands, trying to deescalate the chaos. "Okay, okay. Everyone, calm down. We're all a little… confused here. You were summoned here by some sort of time anomaly, right?"
Ginyu crossed his arms, still exuding an air of arrogance. "Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that you should be bowing before us. It's an honor to have us here."
Mash shook her head, still trying to wrap her mind around it all. "But what's the point? Why are you here? This isn't your universe, and you're clearly not here on a mission. So what now?"
Captain Ginyu gave an exaggerated sigh, putting a hand to his chin. "I suppose if we must entertain this… misunderstanding…" He turned to his team. "Ginyu Force, let's show them what we're really made of!"
With that, the entire Ginyu Force struck a new set of poses in unison, each one even more ridiculous than the last.
"I AM GINYU!" Captain Ginyu bellowed, his hands spread wide.
"BURTER!" Burter shouted, flexing his legs.
"JEICE!" Jeice chimed in, blowing a kiss.
"RECOOME!" Recoome boomed, flexing his muscles.
"GULDO!" Guldo snapped, his arms crossed and a smug grin plastered on his face.
"WE'RE THE GINYU FORCE!" they shouted in unison, striking their respective poses.
Ritsuka and Mash just stood there, speechless. Trunks, for the first time since his arrival, rubbed his eyes and groaned.
"You've got to be kidding me."
