Lemon occurs in this chapter. You have been warned.

Just really wanna get blown away,

You're dangerous like they said

You taste like venom, taste like venom

Now I can't feel my face, I can't feel it

Duo went back by sea, just like he came in. It meant he had to get out as soon as possible before the wreckage took him under along with everyone else. He could survive the vortex, of course, but getting caught in it would waste him a hell of a lot of time. Besides, there were already the flashing lights of emergency vehicles gathering on shore. Soon there'd be military helicopters checking the site and boats looking for survivors. When he clicked his comms back on, Heero only had one last thing to say.

"Rendezvous back outside school." After that, it was literal radio silence as he made his way back to Howard's ship. All Duo had were his thoughts to keep him entertained, and they weren't doing a whole lot of that.

He couldn't believe it. He'd gotten there early, done plenty of damage, and still lost to a few shots of a gun. A massive cannon of one, but still. Heero could just fly in, take a few shots, and get the hell outta dodge. Sure, it might take him time to fire those shots, but once it was done he leveled the whole thing in a minute flat. Man. It left a sour taste in his mouth.

"Don't get me wrong, buddy." He didn't want Deathscythe getting the wrong idea. "I wouldn't trade anything about you for the world." He still thought Deathscythe was the best, especially with its hyper jammer. And the beam scythe was the coolest weapon a pilot could ask for. "But sheesh."

Even worse, he'd made a bet out of it. Now he was going to actually have to follow through.

Yeah, there were way worse guys whose dicks he could have been stuck sucking. But it was the principle of the thing!

Thankfully, he had a bit of travel time to clear his head, the deep blue of the water helping him relax. Talking to Deathscythe helped too, even if his Gundam could only listen. His Gundam was the best thing to vent to. Didn't interrupt or call him the idiot he knew he was for making the bet at all. By the time he was ready to radio Howard to let him know he was close by, he'd schooled the emotion off his face and out of his tone. He could play off any discomfort as post-mission jitters. He'd done that plenty of times.

Howard was waiting for him on deck already by the time he landed. He was a good man.

"How'd it go, Duo?"

"Ahhhh, it went great." Besides Heero stealing his thunder at the end. But Duo was careful to not let that show. "Your little present worked great, by the way! Went out with a real bang. Even gave me a scare for a moment."

He laughed, lightly shaking with it. "Good, good! That's good. Alright. Any damage to Deathscythe we need to look at?"

"Nah, maybe the paint. I can handle that. Guess I should rinse it off, I've been in a lot of salt. Where's the hoses?"

"No need, no need. The boys'll handle it. Get some rest, Duo. Come on, let's get you back on land."

"You sure, Howard?"

"Yeah, yeah! Leave it to us. You're the one out on the front lines. Let us pick up the slack. Especially if it's just hosing her down. That's no sweat. We'll get her resupplied too."
Well, if he insisted... Man. The Sweepers were his team, but he couldn't say after three years he was still used to having so much help. He'd thought he'd mostly be going it alone, but that wasn't really the case. Not yet, anyway. He crossed his fingers just in case he jinxed it. "... Thanks, man. I really appreciate it."

"Heh, you're welcome."

Soon he was loaded back up on the speedboat and ready to go. The ride back wasn't really any different to the trip out. He kept his priestly ensemble on; he doubted anyone would care if he wasn't wearing his school uniform late at night. He didn't care if it got a bit wet, it had been through all sorts of grime.

Duo was quiet, not having a whole lot worth trying to yell over the sound of the wind. He was just trying to not look like a man being walked to the gallows. Or the electric chair, a firing squad, you name it. Was Heero gonna cash in his bet right away? Should he get on top of it? Get it over with? Or wait for the other pilot to make a move? Maybe Heero wouldn't say shit. Maybe he'd shrug it off, or pretend it never happened.

But that didn't sit right with Duo either. He was no coward. He might run and hide, but that was when he had to, not as his first resort. Besides, he didn't like to tell lies, and he'd pretty damn clearly said if Heero won, he'd suck his dick. Not a whole lot of room for interpretation there. It was one thing if Heero didn't want his offer. He wouldn't make him take him up on it. But if Heero was interested...
Goddamn it. It wasn't even that he didn't want to! There were far worse things than sucking Heero Yuy's dick. He was good-looking and looked like he kept himself clean, those were already two steps above guaranteed on the street. Everything he did was intense, like his life depended on giving it his all at all times. Heero never flinched away from looking at him with those stormy grey-blues, and trying to figure him out was a kind of puzzle Duo never thought he'd get hooked on.

He liked Heero, as easily annoyed and as irritating as he could be. And fuck, he didn't want to give him up. That was dangerous. They could die any time. Worse, he could piss Heero off and lose himself a good ally. There were only so many good people out in the world, especially ones like Heero who could effortlessly blow OZ soldiers away like it was a game.

He tried to keep it outta his head. But it just wouldn't go away.

Back on the dock, back to the truck. He thought Howard might drop him off right at the school, or at least close to it. But about halfway there, under the moonlight and the distant light from town, he spotted something pale on the side of the road. As it got closer it was obviously a person, someone with dark hair wearing a tank top-

"Hey, isn't that..?"

"Stop the truck, Howard."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, I can handle it. He helped me out tonight. It's okay."

Howard slowed down the truck, and the second it was safe Duo opened the door and hopped out, bringing his bag with him and slinging it over his shoulder. They'd passed Heero, but he was sure the other pilot would quickly catch up. "Thanks for everything, Howard. See you soon."

"Godspeed, Duo." And with that, Howard drove off, heading further towards town.

With that, Duo waited, stretching out then resting his hands behind his head. It took Heero about a minute to catch up, but he hadn't run over, he'd just walked.

"Hey." Duo started first. Heero would probably just stare at him if he let him lead the conversation. "Thought you said we'd rendezvous at school."

"Change of plans."

He frowned. "They onto us?"

"Not as far as I'm aware."

Okay... "Then why the switch-up?"

The other pilot didn't answer, just looking at him with an expression it was too dark for him to really read. Even then, the light only helped a bit; sometimes he just couldn't tell what Heero was thinking. After a long pause, Duo sighed. Fine. Keep your secrets. He started heading towards town and Heero followed, keeping pace side by side with him.

It would take a real dumbass to not know the change of plan probably had to do with the bet. But he wasn't going to blow Heero by the side of the road. He had some dignity. Somehow, he doubted that was what Heero wanted either, but he wasn't exactly an open book. He would never have guessed Heero would come meet him out here. He figured it would wait until they were back in their dorm room at least. Not that that was ideal for a lot of reasons, but it was warm and dry with plenty of walls or beds to lie back on. But Heero was out here waiting for him instead.

"This way."

"Huh?"

"This way." Heero reached for his shoulder, physically turning him to the right and directing him forward. He didn't see anything, not even a dirt path, but the other pilot seemed to know exactly where he was going.

Now he was in completely foreign territory. Duo had no idea what the hell was going on. The only small comfort he had was it didn't make sense to kill him. If he'd wanted to Heero could have done that a dozen times by now. There was no gun or knife on him making him walk, just Heero still holding his shoulder with a much gentler grip than he'd initially had as they walked through the silvery grass. It was still early in the year, but it didn't get cold enough to kill the grass this far south. Just cold enough for there to be a bit of a humid chill on the breeze.

"..." He tried making conversation. "... Nice night, huh?"

"Mm."

"OZ's gonna have a hell of a time with what we did."

"Mmhmm."

"Where we goin', Heero?"

"You'll see."

Heero was as verbose as always. Well, not like he was expecting much else. Duo offered him his trust and kept going. He'd gone this far, might as well see what Heero had in store for him.
It was only a few minutes away from the road when a small stone building came into view. Well- Building would be putting it nicely. It had four pale walls and a doorway and gaps for windows. Otherwise there was nothing special with it. Duo raised an eyebrow and looked at Heero. Here..?

"We're away from the main roads and have shelter from the wind. It's abandoned. The owner lives a continent away. We won't attract attention here."

Wait. "You, uh. You scoped this out?"

Heero met his question with a flat stare. One that had "duh" written all over it. Okay, fair enough, that was a stupid question. Duh Heero had scoped this place out, he just finished saying that. Duo headed up the worn stone steps and to the door to check it out himself. Whatever roof had been here once was long gone, the stone was starting to get worn away from the elements. But Heero was right, it didn't look like anyone had been here for a long time, not even vagrants. A wreck like this where he came from would be full of garbage and broken glass at least, and that was if you were lucky and there wasn't a cracked out occupant waiting for you to look at them funny.

He didn't know why Heero didn't just go for the dorm room, but his bet was on paranoia if he'd take an abandoned wreck over anywhere inside. It actually made Duo chuckle a bit. It was absurd, but what the hell else about them was normal, huh.

Heero was still outside, arms crossed and staring. Was he waiting for the go-ahead? Pfft. That was kind of cute. Heero Yuy, being cute. "Yeah, it'll do. C'mon."

The other pilot's expression didn't change at his words, but he finally moved, stepping through the doorway. Duo let him through and dropped his bag. His pants would get dirty doing this but nothing a wash wouldn't fix.

"Alright, some ground rules." Duo took a breath, reaching behind his head and adjusting his braid. "First, you piss in my mouth I'll leave you lookin' like a Ken doll down there, got it?"

"What? Why would I-" Heero cut himself off, frowning very deeply. Duo waited while he processed it, and to his credit the other pilot soon recovered. "Alright. Understood."

"Good." He didn't think Heero was gonna do it, but he needed to know the consequences if he did. He kept going before Heero thought of asking any uncomfortable questions. He didn't want to talk about it. Not now, not ever. "And don't grab my braid. You can hold the sides, if you want. But not my braid, 'kay?"

"Okay."

Okay. It was that easy. No complaining or pushing, he just went with it. Okay.

"Go up against the wall. It'll make it easier. Actually-" The wall would be freezing cold, wouldn't it. He doubted Heero would complain, but come on, he was in a tank top and spandex shorts. He'd be shivering in no time. "One sec." He had a jacket in his bag, brought all the way from L2. It was three sizes too big when he'd nicked it all those years ago and starting to get worn down in a few places, but it was still good enough to keep out some of the cold. Duo rummaged through the bag, finding it pretty easily and passing it over. "Get this up against your back, yeah? And relax." Duo knelt down, looking up after the faintest pause for comedic timing. "As much as you can, anyway."

Heero took the jacket without comment and did as he was told, resting against it. The last comment actually made him softly snort as he leaned back, looking at Duo with all the focus in the world. It was that same intense gaze Duo knew he felt in the school showers back with a damn vengeance.

And he couldn't lie, even with just the moonlight to vaguely see it by, a look like that was one hell of a confidence boost. Here he was on his knees in the dirt and he was still getting stared at like he was the only thing that mattered in the universe.

"Hmhm..." He chuckled to himself and broke eye contact, getting back to his business at hand. Okay. First off, the goods. The spandex Heero wore didn't leave much to the imagination, and it looked like he was already kind of into it. Heh. He didn't blame him, not really. If Heero's face was right at his crotch he'd probably pop a boner too.

Could be harder, though.

"What?"

"Nothin'." Heero didn't need to know why he'd laughed. He'd keep being flattered by the way Heero looked at him to himself. No need to get sentimental, right? Pushing through the buzz of nerves at the pit of his stomach, Duo hooked his fingers under Heero's black shorts and dragged them and his underwear (more spandex, by the feel of it) down. He didn't bother pulling them down the whole way, just enough so they wouldn't get in his way. He left both layers just above the other pilot's knees and looked at what he had to work with.

He'd seen Heero's dick before now, but only in small doses in the school shower, not up close and personal. Was hard to get more up close and personal than with it right in his face. He spat into his hand, getting it slick before gripping the base of Heero's cock.

Heero's breath hitched, and Duo glanced up, but apart from that Heero was much in the same position; jacket keeping from the wall, hands pressed against the wall, giving him that same all-consuming stare. Heh, how far would that patience go? A part of him wanted to test it just to see what Heero would do if his patience didn't just run thin, but snapped. But feeling him heat up and harden under his fingers, Duo decided it wouldn't be tonight. It was cold out here, and even if it wasn't it was too dark to get a good look at Heero's face. If he was gonna take his life into his own hands teasing his arguably-sane (weren't they all) and ridiculously strong fellow pilot, he wanted the sharpest possible memories going along with it. He'd play nice this time. But man, Heero was still tense as hell.

"Seriously, Heero. Relax, bud. I won't bite." Not if he kept to the rules. Heero's mouth twitched like he was biting down a reply, and Duo sighed inwardly. "C'mon, man. Like this." He took hold of one of Heero's hands with his clean one and brought it over to his head, letting it rest on his hair. "Gentle, 'kay? You yank out my hair there'll be hell to pay."

His joking worked; Heero softly snorted again. It was faint, barely perceptible, but with Heero that was the best he'd likely get. With his hand against his hair it made Heero have to work to tangle his fingers in it right, and needing to keep it gentle meant he had no choice but to let up on his grip. He took a breath, then two, three. And with each one, more tension left him. He even stopped with that intense stare and tipped his head back, letting out a sigh.

Heh. He couldn't resist. "Good boy." And he pressed a cheeky kiss to the base of his cock. He already knew Heero was gonna tense up and ruin all his work when what he said sank in, so he preempted it and dragged his tongue up the shaft, right to the tip then took him into his mouth. Heero choked on a moan and shuddered, his fingers twitching in his hair but managing not to tug on it.

Sensitive, wasn't he? Duo chuckled again, working his tongue around the head for a bit then sinking lower, pressing up against the underside. He bobbed his head slowly, softly moaning around him. He knew what to do. It wasn't his first rodeo. Sucking dick was easy, relatively speaking. Keep your teeth outta the way and the rest wasn't rocket science. He was messing around, but he doubted Heero would know the difference- Heero was inexperienced, if not a virgin. He could tell how he was reacting, already breathing harshly with hints of moans on those breaths.

Even if if ended up being just the one time, there was a bit of a thrill in being the one getting to do this. It was always the handsome quiet types who got everyone wanting them, and Heero had that extra intense edge going for him. How many girls stared a little too long at him? Some of the guys, too, he'd bet. And this wasn't Heero's first school either. How many admirers did he have back at St. Gabe's? At least one- Relena Darlian, running halfway across the world to find Heero right after her dad died.

It wasn't Relena that Heero brought out here. He wasn't staring at her, wasn't getting his breath ragged because of her. It wasn't Relena down and dirty here, putting it all on the line. A little princess like her would never.

It was that intrusively bitter thought that made Duo go right for it, shoving Heero's hips against the wall and going faster. Fuck it, enough playing around. He was gonna blow this hot virgin's mind, go right down on him and hold his breath like a champ, just like he'd learned training for his mission. The breath training was meant to help him resist torture, but it served Duo well here, bobbing his head up and down and closing his eyes so he could focus. Heero immediately gripped at his hair, but the moment he thought of slapping his leg or pulling back to make him knock it off the other pilot stopped and rubbed his scalp instead.
"Fuck! Duo- Nnh, mmn-"
That Heero said his name caused a rush of pleasure to go right to his groin and he even squirmed a bit, letting out a muffled moan. God he was loud. He never would have guessed Mr. Strong and Silent Heero Yuy would be so loud during sex. Was that why he went to all this effort to get them out in the middle of nowhere? So he didn't have to hold back? Hh... Damn it, he couldn't keep with it, Duo had to pull back to catch his breath. His chin was full of drool, and he idly wiped it away as he coughed once, then panted, wrapping his hand back around Heero's cock so he didn't let up on him while he took his breather.

"Hah... That feel good?"

"Mm..." At first it seemed like Heero's sounds were dying down, and all he'd get as a response to that question was that tentative sound, but when Duo squeezed the base of his cock he gasped, managing a trembling word right after. "Y-Yes, yes it feels good-"

"Mm, 's what I want to hear." His voice was shot, but he ignored it and gave Heero another squeeze, then went back down on him. He was more careful this time, the other pilot's dick was already oozing and his legs were starting to shake. He had to be close and he didn't want him down his throat when he did. So Duo kept it simple, sucking and pressuring him with his tongue while working what he couldn't fit in his mouth. Man, he wanted to touch himself, get some of the pressure off, but his hands were busy. He'd have to wait.

He was right, it didn't take long. Soon those fingers on his head were back to being woven in his hair, Heero twitching and barely managing to say, "Duo, ahh, hah, I'm- I'm about to..!"

He pulled back a bit, but didn't let up his pace or let him go. And in a few moments, Heero groaned and spilled. He gave it a moment, then uncurled his fingers from around Heero's dick, letting it slip from his mouth. The taste wasn't great, but Duo wasn't expecting it to be. He could have spit it out, but he'd come this far. He was buzzed and confident enough to look up, look right at Heero coming down from his high, and made sure he saw him swallow it down. He was still close enough to feel the shudder rip through Heero's body, feel how his legs struggled to keep him up. Heh. Good.

Just let him try to focus on anything else for a while.

For a bit, Duo just savored the moment. Wasn't every day he blew someone, and it was the first time he got to relax even a little after the fact. He could've indulged, basked in Heero's harsh breath and the smell of his sweat and afterglow. But his chin was a mess, he could feel his braid was lopsided, and he was so hard it was starting to hurt. So it was probably sooner than he needed to before he slapped his legs, standing up and idly dusting off his pants. "So. That was fun, give me a few to deal with this-"

"Stop."

Duo stopped mid chin-wipe. "Come again?"

Heero took a moment to respond, still breathless and pulling his shorts back up. "It's my turn. We tied."

He didn't understand, and his mind's short-circuiting must have been obvious as he froze.

"Nah, come on. Ship sank because of your shot-"

"It was already going to sink. I only sped up the inevitable. You arrived before I did. It was a tie." His tone was harsher at the end, spoken in a whisper. Heero leaned closer. "It was a tie." He repeated it again, seemingly to himself, then holy mother of surprises he was suddenly being kissed.

The bet said nothing about kissing. He didn't have to do that. Well, he didn't technically have to do any of this, the bet had been one-sided, but if Heero had some weird sense of fairness and wanted to blow him too it would be the dumbest thing ever to say no. In his surprise Duo didn't really respond for a moment, and before he could do much Heero was pulling away with a clear frown. "Wait no, hey, I wasn't ready, I wasn't ready!" God, he was being so uncool. "My bad, c'mere." He wasn't gonna have anyone saying he was a bad kisser. Actions spoke louder than words, he got his hands on Heero's shoulders and pulled him back in. Heero let him and he tried again, this time fitting their lips together right. It still wasn't perfect, both of them started rough and reeled it back, making it too hard then soft to compensate, but after a few careful pecks back and forth and trying again it went smoother and they got a solid kiss in.

He couldn't get a read on whether Heero had kissed before. If he hadn't, he sure went for it fast and had no qualms about kissing someone who'd just had his dick in his mouth not ten minutes ago. On the other hand, there were moments like when he prodded his mouth with his tongue where Heero paused for a moment, like he needed to think about to do rather than it coming natural. Just like so much else about Heero, it was a mystery. But he leaned towards no, especially when Heero shuddered and sighed into their kiss the moment he got his tongue in his mouth. But hey, maybe he was just that good.

It was Heero who broke it off first. He pulled back, but only just far enough to be able to look into Duo's eyes. It looked like Heero was gonna say something, and he waited, but in the end the other pilot decided against it and after another kiss, then a surprise quick peck to his neck, Heero knelt down.

He kinda wished Heero had stayed around his neck, but he couldn't deny his friend looked real good down there. "So, Heero... You got any rules for me?"

He was already going for the button and zipper on his pants. At the question Heero paused, considering it, and finally gave an answer after a few carefully thought out moments. "Don't piss in my mouth."
"Ha!" Duo laughed, he couldn't help it. He was never living that one down, huh. "Think I can handle that. Anything else?"

"Nothing comes to mind."

"Okay." He took advantage of Heero not saying he couldn't touch him and reached for his head, curious as to the texture of his hair. It was thick, thicker than his fine strands, and there was a good bit of it, easily enough to securely weave his fingers in. Heero's eyes flicked upward, but he didn't verbally protest and soon looked back down, focused on his task.

He didn't bother getting Duo's pants or boxers down all the way either, seemingly content with letting them pool just below the knee. Kisses aside, Heero was all business, spitting in his hand and grabbing his dick, circling his palm over the head then stroking in earnest. He set a quick pace and Duo groaned, leaning back more readily than Heero had. A handy might not be anything special in the grand scheme, but just the fact that Heero was doing it gave it an unpredictable edge that got him shuddering in no time.

For a while, Heero kept it at that. But after what felt like ages (it might have only been minutes), he kissed the tip once, twice, licked around the head, and finally, finally opened his mouth and went down on his cock.

"Nhh, god-" He was loud too. Bunking with the Scrappers had taught him to be quiet as death itself when it was just him, but why bother out in the middle of nowhere? It felt great, wet and warm around him. Heero hummed, carefully sucking on him. He didn't think Heero Yuy had a teasing bone in his body with how to the point he'd been before; he guessed it was the inexperience making him take things slow. He could be patient, he could, he swore he could, he wasn't gonna pull on his hair and take over much as he wanted to-

To his credit, Heero figured out to keep his teeth out of the way. And he was a quick learner; the slow pace didn't last long. As soon as he started bobbing his head he picked up speed, bumping his cock against his cheek and sucking on the upstroke.

"Mmh, nn, yeah, like that..." He circled his fingers in Heero's hair, venting some of the pleasure with it. He had the urge to tug on his hair and grind against his throat but bit it down for the other pilot's sake. "Ah, fuck-" Heero grabbed his dick, stroking him to take care of what he couldn't fit in his mouth. The pace wasn't quite perfect, both sides weren't quite aligned, but it looked good and sounded great and the mental edge of knowing Heero chose to do this for him when he didn't have to was enough to make his senses come alight in just the right way. It felt way better than it had any right to, god..!

"Mhh-" He squeezed just right and Duo bucked once, just once, before he caught himself. "Hah, sorry, you're just- Ahhn, you're just..." The thought escaped him. Heero made him tilt his head back, his breath coming out sharp through his nose, but he looked down again soon after. He wanted to see Heero's face, see his skin slightly flushed, his dark lashes turned downward in focus, trying to keep time with his mouth and hand working in unison to get him off.

"Ghh, Heero..." Heero finally got him to say his name. He wanted to hold out, wanted more, but it was too much, he could only hold it off so long. "I'm gonna cum, bud-"

Even in the dark and lost with being so close he could see Heero look up, staring right into his eyes. He didn't pull back with Duo's warning, didn't move away, just kept going. And hell if he could resist that; he only lasted another moment before he came.

He could see Heero scowl and pull back, letting his cock go as the salty fluid filled his mouth. Duo expected him to spit, he clearly wasn't used to the taste of cum, but to his surprise after a muffled cough forced his head down, Heero looked back at him with those same determined stare and after just the slightest hesitation, swallowed. And admittedly it was the hottest thing he'd ever seen, and Duo was caught between a moan and a laugh, landing somewhere between both and clumsily patting his head.

"Goddamn, Heero, you didn't have to do that! Sheesh..." Stubborn bastard. He wouldn't have been offended if Heero spat it out, it's not like he liked the taste either. He'd just been showing off. But in hindsight, he really shouldn't have been surprised Heero was gonna be stubborn about biting off as much as he could chew. Uhh, inferentially speaking. He was touched by the gesture, though, even if Heero was just trying to match him, and Duo idly ran his fingers through the other pilot's hair for a bit, pulling down his jacket to sit on and going down. His legs were noodly, he wanted a break.

Heero sat beside him while he fumbled with his pants, close enough for their bodies to touch. Ah, screw it, he felt too good to not be honest with what he wanted. Worst Heero could do was shove him off. After he got his pants up he leaned against the other pilot, enjoying the last little bit of his high. If Heero minded, he said nothing, just looking at the far wall. Seemed like he had a lot on his mind.

It wasn't exactly cuddling, but it was sure a hell of a lot closer to it than he'd ever had. And Heero had one more surprise for him- It took a while, but just when Duo thought he knew the terms here he carefully reached up and wrapped an arm around his shoulders. It was a loose hold, barely touching him, but again, it was more than he'd ever had from someone before.

Duo closed his eyes, once again savoring the moment.

Back on L2, he might have stolen some sleep in a similar state with his too-big jacket curled around him. But he was more used to a bed these days, and the chill reminded him they had somewhere to get back to. He was the first to get up with a reluctant sigh.

"We should get back, yeah?" He offered a hand to Heero, and Heero took it.

"Yeah."

The cool breeze from before had picked up into gusts, now. Duo was fine, he just needed to roll down his sleeves, but the moment Heero stepped beyond the four walls of their little night hideout he shivered. Duo bit down a chuckle and reached for his jacket. "Here, take it. Don't wanna catch cold."

"I don't need it."

"C'mon man, yeah you do. We can't afford you getting sick."

Heero eyed the jacket. "That's unlikely."

"Even less likely if you put it on."

Heero looked at him, then back at the jacket, but finally took it and slid his arms inside. It looked just as oversized and baggy on him as it did on Duo, but hey, it would keep him warm, and that's what mattered.

Plus, it was kinda cute, but Duo had pushed his luck enough tonight. He just grinned and kept his thoughts to himself.

"Next time, try wearing some warmer clothes, huh?"

"Hn."

They made it back without incident. Getting back to the dorms was as easy as scaling the fence and knowing the professors' door code (3486). More of a formality than any real security; the fence wasn't even electric. From there it was just a matter of being quiet and getting back to their room, which they did without incident. They were both old hands at sneaking around and the school security was lax as hell, even for a swanky place. It was barely past curfew anyways, he could probably have talked his way out of any real trouble if he'd gotten caught.

Things were no different than usual once they shut the doors to their room. Heero peeled off Duo's jacket, fished his laptop out of the sheets and sat cross-legged on his bed, immediately starting to type. Maybe he had to report in. He'd rendezvoused with Howard (and G didn't expect him to live anyways), he didn't need to bother, but as far as he knew Heero didn't have a handler here in person. Made him wonder about the others. Were they out there getting help, or going out solo? He had no way of knowing.

Well, whatever. Duo stripped down as usual and got under the covers. He would have showered, but since they'd missed curfew it would have to wait until the morning. No big deal.

"Night, Heero."

"... Night, Duo."

It was the first time he could remember Heero bothering to say night back. Nice.

The next morning he woke up later than usual. Heero was there, typing away on his laptop as usual as though he'd been awake all night, but when he heard Duo groan and blearily sit up he stopped his clicking and looked in his direction. Duo was barely awake enough to catch the apple Heero tossed him, but he just barely got it and looked up at the other pilot questioningly.

"You overslept. Class is in half an hour. Get ready. I'll be here."

Only half an hour? Shit, he was cutting it kinda close. "Oh. Sure, yeah." Duo grabbed his toothbrush and headed for the showers. He was gonna wait, huh? Heero didn't usually make an effort to walk with him first thing in the morning. Either they happened to leave at the same time and Duo would talk his ear off, or they didn't and it was no skin off his nose. This was different.

He was making progress, alright. Was it that easy? Dude just needed to get laid to loosen up? Ha. That was a dangerous weakness Heero had. Sure, maybe whichever colony sent him thought he'd die long before anyone would manage to seduce secrets or loyalty outta him. But what if he'd been an enemy playing the long game, huh? What then?

Well, he wouldn't have had a Gundam if he were with the Alliance. Them both being pilots went a long way in establishing trust. But still.

You're lucky I'm a nice guy, Heero. And really, he was lucky too, but he'd been in the shower long enough and didn't want to spiral into thoughts of his past. He didn't want to jinx this and besides, he didn't have time for a self-pity party. His hair took a long time to wash and he probably didn't have more than twenty minutes before they had to head to class. He made it as quick as possible, washing off and toweling his hair more roughly than he usually would. One day of neglect wouldn't trash his hair, thank god, or it would have been unsalvageable a long time ago. He even braided it while it was still damp, which he knew would make it a wavy mess later, but drying it right took more time than he had.

The rest of his morning routine barely took any time at all, and he was back before Heero left. Heero was already ready, laptop tucked away and in uniform. He was quiet as Duo got ready, even when he put his knife holsters on under his uniform, but Duo felt his eyes on him the whole time.

He wasn't sure whether it was weird or flattering. A bit of both, honestly. But it was the kind of weird he could shake off and pretend not to notice as he grabbed his bag and slung it over his shoulder, then grabbed the apple he'd left on his bed, and the kind of flattering that got him smiling at Heero as he finally had everything together. "Alright buddy, I'm ready. Let's go."

"Mm." Heero opened the door and off they went.

That same Barbie pink limo came by when they were halfway there, dropping Relena off for class. But that couldn't do a single damn thing to dampen his mood, not now. He faced it head on, even giving Relena a little wave as she stepped out of the car, calling for Heero. Of course she only had eyes for him.

Too bad, Princess.

"Hey, good-lookin'!" Catching Heero glare at him immediately out of the corner of his eye made his messing around so worth it. Yeah, get a little jealous, buddy. He could handle it.

With that remark, Relena finally looked at him, though she looked more shocked at his words than anything. Guess no one had the balls to go and call her good-looking to her face before, huh? Well, he did. "Pretty nice day today, huh?"

The initial shock worn off, she looked right past him, trying to catch Heero's eye. Wow, rude. Here he'd paid her a compliment and everything! But Duo hadn't been expecting much else, not when she acted the exact same way the day before, acting like he was barely worth the words to say hello to.

"Well, gotta get to class, see ya around!"

He wasn't lying, she was good-looking. Beautiful, even. But he knew he looked good too, and he knew how to use it better than a little spoiled princess like her could ever dream of. Heero barely gave her a second glance as he followed, soon catching up and walking alongside him.

He had him. And god did that feel good.
