Chapter 4: Kennywood Holiday Lights
The next day, we went to Kennywood Park for the annual Holiday Lights. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We jammed out to 98 Degrees, Lizzo, and Pop2K prior to riding the rides and eating good food. Not to mention, there was a Game Day fundraiser for the Music Support Group Academy marching band in Turtle Creek the same day. Games included Do Not Say It, Mummy Wrap Game, Music Sleeping Bags, Burglar Alarm, Commercial Game, Prize Auction Game, Nail Polish Spin Game, Sleepover Ball Game, Limbo Contest, Detective, and Scavenger Hunt. Rides included the Racer, the Jack Rabbit, the Aero 360, the Turtle, the Pirate, the Potato Smash Bumper Cars, the Kangaroo, and the carousel. We ended the night with a group dinner at the End Zone featuring delicious foods like cheese cubes, roast turkey, baked ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, rolls, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, chicken tenders, penne marinara, macaroni and cheese, and Christmas cookies for dessert. "Mmm, more great food to eat!" Henri stated, licking his lips. "I love the rolls, Max! What is your favorite holiday food?" "I like sweet potatoes the best, Henri," Max replied. "I love the park's mashed potatoes and gravy," Justin stated. "I like their stuffing best," James stated. "Is there any reason why we are having the party catered at the venue instead of bringing food, James?" Justin asked. "Well, Justin," James replied, "we just needed a break from cooking this year since it is a lot of work, and besides, we didn't even know that Veltre's did catering last year. But, it will still be fun!" "I feel like we got our fair share of exercise today, Sarah," Alex happily stated. "Thanks for inviting us, Alex," Sarah stated. "I always love the events that you plan." "It's not just Thanksgiving weekend, but it's also your birthday weekend," Alex pointed out. "I have a fun party planned for you at Monroeville Mall with games and food next Sunday." "I knew you would," Sarah excitedly stated. "By the way, why are we not cooking this year?" Alex asked. "It is hard for me to cook and take care of a whole turkey, and we didn't know this place had catered food," Sarah explained. "Turkey is good, but it is too much responsibility," Alex stated. "I would much rather cook a side dish like green beans or another vegetable." "Going back to the exercise topic, I understand the reason why I had to take gym class in middle school," Sarah explained. "To take care of my physical health!" "I learned a lot of interesting things in health class my senior year," Alex stated. "This is a problematic time of year, so we need to be careful!" "I hear you," Sarah agreed. "What am I going to do about my meal plan? Can I still eat the meal that I normally eat, or should I take a day off from the meal plan? I still want to have dinner and cake with you at Monroeville Mall next Sunday, but I also want to have Thanksgiving dinner, too," Alex debated. "Maybe, I can eat both my regular meal and my Thanksgiving meal on Thursday." "That sounds good!" Sarah agreed. Then, we took a group photo in the restaurant before we all went home for the night. Then, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
