(Hello everyone and happy 2023, hopefully things get better this year. Anyways, just a quick message before getting into the chapter! I have started my second story called Yu-Gi-Oh: The Light Within and have finished the 'Prologue' chapters! If you fine readers want to check it out that is. Those that have already read it say they really enjoy it. That's all I wanted to say.)

Let it be known; I do not own Fairy Tail nor Pokémon which fully belong to there rightful owners. The only thing I own is my OC and this stories plotline.

Chapter 9: The Pokémon Devour a Village

"Someone speaking"

'Someone thinking'

"Someone with power talking/Someone using Moves or Magic"

*Someone doing something*

(Comedy effect)

(When I'm talking)

(Speaking through their minds)

- Pokémon speech-

(Last chapter our hero's Jason and Erza, or rather Erza, interrogated the members of Eisenwald to find a way out of Erigor's Wall of Wind spell with zero luck before Gray rejoined them. What was lucky is that Erza remembered that one of the members, Kage, had magic that could dispel the magic of another. After tracking him down, who was currently fighting Natsu, Erza "convinced" him to get rid of the wind. Unfortunately, the only member of Eisenwald that was still free was ordered by a captured member to "keep Kage from helping them". With no idea's left, it was Happy who saved the day! He had remembered that the Celestial Spirit Virgo asked him to give her key to Lucy as she wished to form a contract with the young girl. Virgo dug a tunnel underneath the wind, giving them freedom. Jason called upon Scarlet to chase after Erigor, none of them noticing that Natsu and Happy already done so. Jason and Natsu teamed up to lay the smack down on Erigor and defeated the "Reaper". The rest caught up as they took the Magic Car, sadly Kage stole the car and Lullaby and drove away to finish their goal. Good thing Jason has Pokémon that can fly. When they arrived Makarov talked to Kage in which the Dark Mage surrendered. However, it turned out that Lullaby was really a demon made by the Black Wizard Zeref, the most evil wizard that ever existed. Lullaby was so strong that Jason had to use the power of the fire Z-Move to finish it off. What's in store for them next?)

(Insert Snow Fairy opening here)

(Jay's PoV)

After we made our way to the hotel that Master was staying at, we told him everything that we went through. He commended us on our quick thinking to stop Eisenwald and me for healing the soldiers that were sent to fight them. I also took the opportunity to introduce my Pokémon to the five. Natsu was excited to see the Dragon types. Erza got along well with Frost, Ruby, Kyra and Hime. Lucy liked the twins along with Alpha. Gray hung out with Kroko, Garo, Ark and Tempest. The next day we were all leaving to head back to Fairy Tail, unfortunately due to the fight me and Natsu had against Erigor (who we later found out disappeared before the knights could arrest him) the trains heading in that direction were closed. Meaning we had to walk our way home and Lucy complained about it.

"Why not just have your Pokémon fly us back?" Lucy asked.

"Because they're not a taxi service!" I snapped at her. "I only do that if I need to get to some place quickly in case of emergencies!"

We made our way to Web Valley, where Happy said he could lead us back to Magnolia but…

"Come on Happy! You're lost again, aren't you?" Lucy yelled. "We've been walking and walking, but we haven't gotten to Magnolia yet! You sense-of-direction-less cat!"

"How rude! I wasn't lost before. This is the first time." Happy argued.

"I don't care if it's your first or your last; the fact is, we're lost!" Lucy said.

Ye~ah Happy got us lost… and what's worse is that we were ran out of food two days ago. I made sure to ration the Poké-food, so my team doesn't starve but that isn't going to last long either. Turns out Web Valley was made from an ancient earthquake. It's also said that a bunch of people, even the best hunters from Hunter Guilds, get lost and are never seen or heard from again, which I had to ask…

"Why in the ever-loving hell did you think coming through here was a good idea in the first place, you idiotic hairball?!" I yelled at Happy who was staring over a cliffs edge.

We all collectively sighed.

"I'm starving…" Natsu groaned.

"Stop reminding me! It's only making me hungrier!" Gray groaned.

The two got in each others faces.

"Well I'm hungry and that's that!" Natsu snapped.

"Then stop going on about it already!" Gray snapped back.

"Indeed…" Master groaned. "I'm hungry!"

"Not you, too!" both boys yelled.

"Enough." Erza said.

Normally she would have more ground to stand on but…

(Cue stomach growling sound effect)

All of us looked at Erza as her own stomach demanded food.

"It sounded like your stomach just went 'gu…'." Natsu said. "It said 'gu…'."

"It did not." Erza denied. "You're hearing things."

"N-Nice cover-up there." Gray said.

'Even though no one believes her.' I thought.

Before more could be said Happy cried out in joy, making us look at him.

"What's so exciting?" Natsu asked.

"Natsu, look at that!" Happy exclaimed as he pointed off the cliff.

We all looked to see what got him so excited and see…

"I can fly!"

"You can fly!"

"Can you fly?"

"It's the legendary delicacy, the winged fish!" Happy exclaimed. "They're super tasty!"

As Happy kept on saying 'Yum' repeatedly, we humans discussed between ourselves.

"Legendary delicacy?" Gray asked.

"Winged fish…" Erza said.

"Looks good to me!" Natsu said.

"Good going, Happy!" Makarov praised as he placed his hand on Happy's shoulder while crying. "Well done!"

The sound of stomachs growling filled the air.

"You're all way too hungry." Lucy said.

"Yeah." I agreed. "If these fish are so legendary, then why are there so many of them?"

It's true. There were a lot of these winged fish flying around. Unfortunately, our arguments were useless due to both of our stomachs growling themselves.

"Your stomachs agree with us." Gray pointed out.

"Yeah…" Lucy admitted.

"Okay, we're fishing!" Happy declared while holding a fishing rod.

Soon we were all sitting on the edge of the cliff, trying to get some flying fish. Somehow everyone has a fishing rod. I mean, I always carry my super rod in my bag but still.

"Damn… Just when you think you've hooked one, it's gone." Natsu complained.

"I'm gonna do my best!" Happy vowed.

"They don't really look all that tasty to me, however…" Lucy commented.

"Shut up and fish." Erza ordered. "At this rate, it doesn't matter as long as they're edible."

"You're that hungry?" I asked.

"I want to eat a winged fish!" Happy yelled. "They look delicious! They're a legendary delicacy!"

A few seconds go bye and…

"I give up!" Happy said with a damn smile on his face.

"So much for willpower!" Lucy exclaimed.

I sweat dropped at that. Fishing was always a patience sport.

"But I couldn't catch even one…" Happy said disappointed with his head down.

"You're hungry, right? Then keep trying." Lucy said with a smile, trying to get the cats spirit back up. "Don't give up, 'kay?"

Happy looked up at Lucy… and ran away crying.

"Lucy, you meanie!" Happy cried.

"But I was encouraging you!" Lucy exclaimed in comedic shock.

In the end we only caught one. Not surprising since we didn't have bait of any kind. We all agreed that it wouldn't be fair if one of us ate it and wouldn't fill our stomachs enough, so we gave it to Happy to eat since he did find them in the first place. Though when he finished eating it, I'm glad we didn't get a bite.

"Gross!" Happy gaged after finishing.

"It's gross?!" Lucy exclaimed.

"Guess it's one of those types of food that needs to be prepared in a special way." I said.

"Anyway…" Natsu started.

"…I'm completely…" Gray continued.

"…starving…" Master finished.

However, luck would be on our side as we came across a village.

"A village!" Erza gasped.

"Houses!" Gray said.

"And so, there's probably…" Happy began to say.

"Food!" both me and Natsu yelled in excitement.

We rushed into the village but then noticed something strange.

"There's no one here." Gray said.

"It does seem really quiet for a village." Lucy said.

"Maybe they're taking an afternoon nap." Natsu said.

"I doubt the whole village is." I said.

"Hey! Anybody here?" Natsu called out.

"We're so hungry, we're about to faint!" Happy chimed in. "Somebody give us food!"

"That's a little blunt, you famished cat." Lucy grunted.

…But nobody came…(Get the reference?)

"Are they really all taking a nap?" Gray asked.

"Or maybe the whole village got drunk, and they're all passed out?" Makarov suggested.

"I think you're talking about Fairy Tail…" Lucy said.

"Ha, ha! There too!" Master laughed.

"Something's wrong here." I said. "I can feel it."

When one travels the world filled with wild Pokémon, said traveler develops a sixth sense for these kinds of situations. We all kept looking around the area to see if anyone would show up, until Natsu had enough waiting.

"Argh, this is annoying!" Natsu said as he ran further into the village. "As long as I can get my strength back, I'll eat anything!"

"Hey, you aren't considering robbing the place, are you?" Gray accused as he ran beside Natsu.

"You had the same idea, didn't you?" Natsu said.

The rest of us followed Natsu and Gray as they ran through the seemingly deserted village until Natsu started banging on a house door.

"Hey, anyone home?" Natsu called out. "Give us something to eat, please!"

Natsu tried opening the door and surprisingly it worked. The door opened and we looked inside. The only things where a table with bowls of hot soup, butter and bread on it.

"Yup, there's no one here." Gray stated.

"No shit captain obvious." I said while rolling my eyes.

"Anyway, let's eat!" Natsu said as he walked up to the table and grabbed a roll of bread that he sniffed. "Okay! It's still good!"

He was about to take a bite while saying itadakimasu when Erza stopped him.

"Wait." Erza said as she walked beside Natsu.

"Why?!" Natsu demanded.

"This is suspicious." she answered.

"Yeah. It looks like they were just eating." Gray agreed with suspicion. "Where did the people in this house disappear to?"

"How should I know?" Natsu asked. "Anyway, let's eat, Happy."

"Aye!" Happy said cheerfully.

Natsu was, again, about to eat but once more Erza stopped him.

"I said wait!" Erza said with more force.

"O-Okay!" Natsu said scared as I took the bread out of Happy's paws.

"We must investigate this village first." Erza instructed. "You must hold out until then. Hold on a little while-(Growl)"

"Erza, your stomach is overruling you." Lucy said.

"Not convincing at all, I see." Master said as I nervously chuckled.

Erza ignored us and her growling stomach as she continued.

"Natsu, Gray and Lucy, go search for mushrooms or something!" Erza said over her continuous growling stomach. "Do not touch the food in the village! Master, Jason and I will investigate what's going on in the village!"

"Fine, I got it." Natsu relented. "Off we go, Happy."

"Aye!" Happy said.

"Why mushrooms?" Lucy asked the readers.

As the four of them walked to the forest that seemed to somehow grow in this barren hell, me, Erza and Master continued to search for anyone. Erza and I saw laundry hanging on clotheslines, that is until we noticed Master was gone… only to find him about to dig into a stew. He pauses when he felt Erza's glare behind him.

"Master…" Erza said sternly.

"I was just i-investigating!" Makarov defended himself.

That didn't stop her from dragging him out of the house.

"Maybe we should split up and met back at the fountain." I suggested. "It would cut the search time in half."

"That does sound like a good idea." Master agreed.

"Very well." Erza said. "We'll met back there in 10 minutes."

After searching for 10 minutes, I found nothing. Just more empty houses and abandoned food that was still hot as if it was freshly cooked. Which was strange since we've been here for a while now so it should have gone cold already at this point.

"I even asked Hime if she could sense anyone besides us but couldn't." I told the two when we met up.

"This village is deserted." Master said.

"Despite there being evidence that people had just been living here." Erza said.

"We're missing something here." I said as tried to think.

Which was a little hard due to my hunger. Luckily Erza noticed something that might give us a clue.

"What is this seam?" Erza asked as she looked at the ground.

Me and Master looked down as well. There was a straight line cut through the walkway, but it seemed out of place with the rest of it.

"This isn't a normal crack between the rocks." Erza stated. "It seems to have some purpose."

"Then let's follow it." I said. "Maybe it'll give us the answers we're looking for."

"Let us be cautious." Master advised.

As we followed the crack, I wondered how Lucy and the others were doing.

(Cut to Lucy looking at Natsu, Gray and Happy having mushrooms growing on their heads after the boys ate some.)

'I'm sure they're fine.' I thought.

After a bit of walking, we saw a second line connected to the first one.

"There's a second seam here." Erza observed.

Master looked at them with a narrow look, as if he had a suspicion on what they meant. Just then, we heard a growl throughout the village.

"What?" Erza questioned.

"Something tells me that wasn't our stomachs demanding food." I joked weakly.

The lines we were following started to light up in red just as the others ran up to us. (The mushrooms fell off Natsu and Gray, but not Happy.)

"Guys!" Natsu called to us before glancing at the ground that started to pulse red. "Be careful, Happy!"

"Aye!" Happy responded.

Soon even the buildings around us began to not only glow move as well causing Lucy to gasp.

"What the heck?!" Natsu exclaimed.

"W-What's going on?!" Lucy asked.

"Wow! That's the first time a house ever waved at me!" Happy said.

"That's what your focused on?" Lucy asked.

"This is…" Master started to say.

"Let's do it, Gramps." Gray said as he started up his magic.

"Wait!" Makarov ordered.

"Why?" Gray asked.

"Climb up high." Master said. "I want to check something."

"Everyone, come." Erza said. "Don't get separated!"

We followed Master up a cliff that overlooked the entire village. When we got to the top, the village started to change! Everything became serpent-like monsters! What's more, I noticed a magic circle beneath them.

"I don't get this at all!" Natsu said.

"Master, that was a Magic Circle!" Erza said.

The four that went to gather mushrooms looked at her in confusion.

"While looking around the village we found seams in the ground." I clarified.

"All those seams you found were part of a magic circle." Master said. "And that magic circle is the catalyst to activate the long-banned sealing magic, Alive!"

"Alive?" Lucy asked.

"Have a look. It's as you see it." Makarov said as the magic was self-explanatory. "A magic that turns formerly inanimate objects into living, moving creatures. The people of the village activated such forbidden magic, but they ended up as food for the monsters, not the other way around."

"Damn." I said. "Guess this is what my feeling was about."

"But why would they do something so dangerous?" Lucy asked.

"This is a Dark Guild's village." Erza answered her.

"What?" Natsu asked as he looked at her.

"When I investigated the shed at the first house, I found a number of magical tools." Erza explained. "And not a one of them was for good."

"A Dark Guild, eh? They're probably plotting something evil and did themselves in." Makarov said. "HOWEVER!"

All of us looked at him.

"Their despair is our happiness." Master continued to say.

"Gramps, what are you talking about?" Natsu asked.

"I did say that these things were alive, yes?" Master said.

'Wait does that mean…' I started to think.

"If they're alive… You can eat them!" Makarov exclaimed happily.

Upon hearing that both Natsu and Gray grinned.

"Don't stand there naked with a creepy grin!" Lucy told Gray.

Ye~ah Gray took off his shirt again. Also, at that moment all of our stomachs growled loudly as if it was the gun fire to start a race.

"Well then, let's eat!" Natsu announced.

"Yay, it's chow time!" Happy agreed.

"At this rate we can't be picky about taste!" Gray said.

Erza's only response was to dive off the cliff towards the monsters headfirst.

"Erza, you're that hungry?" Lucy asked in shock.

"There's only so much willpower a person can have." I stated.

"Food, food, food!" Natsu chanted as he, Happy and Gray followed Erza.

"H-Hey!" Lucy cried as she ran down the cliff.

"Don't forget to save me some!" Master called out to them.

I decided to stay on the cliff with Makarov.

We watched as the others prepared the monsters their own way. Natsu steamed them by lighting them on fire then covering them in rocks. Gray froze them solid to make ice-cream. Erza diced them up into carrot-like sticks by requipping a skimpy chief's outfit (Cue *Fairy Tail Ahh* sound) with kitchen knifes the size of swords.

"I'm starving…" Makarov complained. "Aren't they done yet?"

"Probably shouldn't even bother Master." I advised him as I decided to take the chance to lay down while waiting.

"Oh? Not going to join them in the feast?" Master asked.

"What feast?" I asked him in return. "Those things are made from buildings and who knows what else. 100 jewels say they're inedible."

"Hmmm. You make a good point." Master admitted as he stroked his mustache. "Let's have them try it out."

"Basically, use them like Morpeko's?" I smirked. (Morpeko is a guinea pig like Pokémon. Mor- being morumotto: Japanese name for guinea pig. Harapeko or pekopeko: hungry) "Works for me."

All in all, when everyone took a bit out of the monster food well…

"GROSS!" Natsu, Lucy and Gray shouted.

"Looks like I was right." I said while sitting up as they ran back to us.

"What the heck? I can't eat this, Gramps!" Natsu yelled.

"There's gross, and then there's this!" Gray complained.

"True. It's not something one would call, edible." Erza admitted.

"Don't say that after you made me eat it!" Lucy snapped.

Lucy only took a bite out of Erza's food after Erza did and didn't show signs of anything being wrong. Poor girl. Then Happy came crashing in on a living chair. The crash did knock the shroom off his head though.

"Your mushroom came off!" Gray pointed out.

"Who cares about that? Why didn't anyone stop that thing?" Happy demanded. "How cruel, Natsu! Why didn't you help?"

"Huh?" Natsu asked.

"You weren't playing around?" Gray asked.

Happy went completely white in shock and disbelief. Everyone else went on like nothing happened with Happy.

"But this isn't helping." Erza said. "It doesn't matter how hungry we are, we can't eat this."

"I guess that's what we get for trying to eat monsters." Gray said.

"Damn it! Now that I realize I can't eat it, I'm really getting hungry!" Natsu said.

'This is awful…' Happy thought. 'To hell with friendship, to hell with my pals!'

(The kanji words for 'Friendship' and 'Pals' appeared on his left and right before X's went through them and shattering.)

Seeing Happy's state, I walked up to him and patted his head.

"Huh?" Happy asked as he looked up at me.

"Sorry Happy." I apologized with a gentle smile. "I was laying down at the time and didn't see you were in trouble. Had I did, I would have helped you."

"Jay!" Happy sniffed as tears in his eyes.

Unfortunately, a monster suddenly appeared from behind Happy and was about to eat us.

"AHHH!" Happy cried out.

"Crap!" I yelled as I was caught off guard.

"Watch out!" Natsu shouted as he rammed into it with flaming fist.

"Natsu!" Happy exclaimed.

More and more monsters began to spawn out of the Magic Circles. Soon they surrounded us.

"You disgusting creatures!" Gray growled.

"Now I'm angry." Erza said.

"I say we finish this." I suggested as I pulled out a Dusk Ball. "Let's go Venom!"

Out came Venom, ready to go.

"Alright! I've been itching for a fight!" the scorpion said excitedly.

"I'll blow you all away at once!" Natsu exclaimed as he slammed his fist together before leaping at them. "Wing Slash of the Fire Dragon!"

"Ice Wall!" Gray shouted.

Erza changed into her Heaven's Wheel Armor and slashed the monsters apart.

"Me too." Lucy said. "Gate of the Golden Bull! Open! Taurus!"

Taurus appeared in all his perverted "glory".

"Nice body as always, I see!" Taurus complimented Lucy.

"Yeah, whatever. Get to it." Lucy said.

"Did y'all forget me?" Taurus said for some reason like he was talking to someone. "Rampage!"

Slamming his battle axe to the ground caused a shock wave to destroy some monsters.

I had turned into my Electric form as both me and Venom attacked.

"Venom, use Cross Poison and Aqua Tail!" I ordered her. "Parabolic Charge!"

As I unleashed my move hitting multiple targets, Venom charged at others.

"Take this!" Venom yelled as she cleaved thru them.

We kept fighting, but the more we took down the more seemed to replace them.

"There's no end to them." Natsu said.

To make matters worse, the area began to shake.

"W-What is it now?" Lucy asked.

A new Magic Circles began to glow brightly and the monsters freaking out.

"A Magic Circle?" Gray gasped.

"What's that?" Natsu asked.

"Wow, pretty!" Happy cheered.

"That's not the issue here!" Lucy snapped at Happy. "You've been focusing on the weirdest things!"

"This is…" Erza muttered.

"We should probably get out of here now!" I suggested.

But before anything else could be done, the monsters began to sink into the circle. However, the rumbling caused the cliff we were on to start breaking.

"Run!" Erza called out.

Only to be too late as the cliff broke and we all fell towards the Magic Circle… that is until a bright light shined and covered the whole area.

"I'm starving…" Natsu complained. "Seriously."

"I can't walk another inch…" Happy said… as he floated by Natsu and Gray using his wings.

"Then stop showin' off with those wings of your!" Gray snapped.

Lucy was looking at the sky trying to figure out about what happened.

"I don't get what happened at all." she admitted.

Behind them were me, Erza and Master.

"Master?" Erza asked the short elder, getting his attention.

"What." he responded without opening his eyes.

"I don't accept your explanation of what happened before." the women said.

"Have to agree." I admitted.

(Flash Back)

After the light faded, we were all standing in the ruins of the village with the Dark Guild members.

"What did you do?" Natsu interrogated.

"We made a Magical Circle, and a monster appeared." a Female member admitted. "All of us were Taken Over by it."

"So you were all inside those monsters?" Erza concluded.

"More like they were apart of the monsters as well as the village." I said.

"Ghe! I ate a little of it!" Lucy said grossed out.

"When you outsiders entered the village, you activated the Magical Circle." a Male member informed us.

"That Magic Circle is no longer active!" Master said, surprising the Dark Guild members.

"Why Gramps?" Natsu asked.

"Don't sweat the details, my boy!" Makarov said but I knew he was dodging the question. "Anyway, you all should just be happy that the Take Over has been undone. If you learn from this harsh lesson and never act in such a reckless manner again, I will refrain from informing the Council! What do you say?"

"I never want to experience this again!" Female said. "I'm sorry."

"We'll never do it again." Male vowed.

Master grinned in victory while Erza and I looked at him.

(Flash Back Over)

"I thought that after we defeated the monsters we triggered a switch in the Magic Circle that would cause it to self-destruct." Erza said. "But then, Master… In an instant you saved us and undid the Take Over on the Dark Guild members. Also erased the Magic Circle itself. Isn't that right?"

The two of us stopped while Master took a couple more steps forward before stopping himself.

"Could be!" he said cryptically.

"Alright then, keep your secrets." I said while placing my hands behind my head.

"At any rate…" Makarov said.

"We're Starving!" everyone but me and Erza yelled.

(3rd PoV)

In a room with nine figures are standing, as they are discussing about recent events. These people were the Magic Council.

"Eisenwald may have been destroyed, but the root of the problem still remains unresolved." ?#1 said.

"The number of Dark Guilds rivals that of the stars themselves." ?#2 said.

"Then we should come up with a plan to wipe them all out at once." ?#3 said.

"But how?" ?#4 asked.

"I will not stand for Zeref's magic falling into their hands again!" ?#1 said sternly.

"And how was it that they obtained such magic so easily in the first place?" ?#4 asked.

"Blame goes all the way up to the administrative level." ?#2 said.

"At any rate…" ?#5 said. "It seems like this time we were saved by that thorn in our sides, Fairy Tail."

"They destroyed a whole Dark Guild with just 5 or 6 people." ?#6 said. "Impressive."

A few of the other members grumbled a bit, except one or two that smiled.

"I know it's not something you want to accept, but that's reality." ?#5 said. "We would be in dire straits if the Lullaby had actually killed those Guild Masters. It would have cost the heads of many of us standing here."

"Fool! You intend to lay blame even on the Council itself?" ?#7 demanded.

"Enough!" ?#1 snapped. "Their tendency for wanton destruction gives me headaches! This time too!"

"It's only a miracle that the meeting hall wasn't destroyed as well." ?#8 said.

"That being said." ?#9 chimed in. "The one who destroyed Lullaby in it's demon form with those unknown creatures matches the description of the one who healed the knights we sent to deal with Eisenwald."

"Yes… We must repay them for their kindness." ?#5 said with a grin on their face that wasn't kind.

(TO BE COUNTIUED)

(A bit short, but that's a filler for you. But this does give me plenty of room to talk. As I said before, I've got a second story up and running. I will be alternating between them and any other stories I will eventually post to keep things fresh. Don't want to burn out and leave you all hanging on that cliff. Anyways, like always feel free to write a review on your thoughts about the story.)
