Chapter 12: The Cursed Island Part 1

Let it be known; I do not own Fairy Tail nor Pokémon which fully belong to their rightful owners. The only thing I own is my OC and this stories plotline.

- Pokémon speech-

(Last chapter after saying his piece, Jay and Erza were allowed to leave, but he did get scolded by Erza for it. On the way Council member Yajima, a former member of Fairy Tail, offered to lead them out the quickest way to send them on their way as an apology while also commending Jason about his past. Before they left, Jay told Yajima about his feelings about Siegrain and Ultear. He was surprised to find out that Yajima also had a bad feeling about them and promised to keep a close eye on the two. Jay and Erza traveled back riding on Scarlet, who followed the two whilst being invisible due to Striker telling her and arrived back in Magnolia Town quickly. They dropped Erza off at her building call Fairy Hills, which is an all girl only residents, and went home themselves. Next morning Jay told Makarov everything that happened and soon afterwards Natsu demanded they finish their match which Jay ended with a O.T.K. The victory was short lived due to everyone but Makarov and Jay falling asleep suddenly. The reason being an S Class member of Fairy Tail named Mystogan. He always puts the other members asleep because he doesn't want anyone to see his face, even if it's covered up. After meeting Jay and grabbing a request, he left while lifting the sleep spell. Jay also had the unfortunate luck of meeting Laxus, an asshole who thinks he's better then anyone else in the Guild. The next day Mira found out that one of the S ranked jobs was gone!)"Master! One of the requests on the second floor disappeared!" Mira exclaimed. *Makarov does a spit take* (I wonder who did it.)

(Insert Snow Fairy opening here)

(Jay PoV)

Upon hearing what Mirajane said, everybody thought the same thing.

"WWWWHHHHHAAAATTTTT?!" all the unimportant side characters exclaimed.

"Say what?" Wakaba asked. "A request is gone?"

"If it was put up on the second floor, then it's an S class, right?" Macao asked.

"Who would be stupid enough to take something like that?" Laki asked.

'Missing S class job. Natsu no where to be seen or heard.' I thought, going over the information.

Then it all clicked together.

"Son of a bitch." I muttered before speaking up. "I think Natsu took it!"

"There's no way he could've." Reedus said.

"We would've seen him do it." Elfman said.

"A cat." Laxus spoke up from his spot on the second floor. "I saw a cat with wings tear one off."

"Happy did?" Mira gasped.

"Which means it was Natsu and Lucy!" R.M.M #1 said.

"What the heck are they thinking?" R.M.M #2 asked.

'Crap that's right.' I thought 'Since Lucy and Natsu formed a team, where he goes, she goes. Plus, the idiot probably didn't tell her the consequences of doing so.'

"Going out on an S class quest without permission?" Alzack asked.

"I always thought they were dumb, but not that dumb." Bisca stated.

"This is quite a serious violation of the rules." Laxus said. "If they make it back, they're expelled… Right, old man? But with their skills they won't be coming back from an S class, will they?"

"If they get kicked out, you'll be joining them asshole!" I snapped.

"Huh?" Laxus asked a little angered. "And why is that?"

"Like you said, you saw Happy take the request paper." I answered. "Therefore, you could have stopped him or let Master know but willingly choose not to do anything! If something happens to them, it's on your head!"

"Jay's right." Mira agreed as she walked up to Laxus. "Laxus, if you knew, why didn't you stop them?"

"All I saw was a cat burglar run off with a scrap of paper." Laxus said. "I had no idea that was actually Happy. And I never would have thought Natsu would go on an S class."

Mira then gave Laxus a deadly glare. Geez, Mira is ticked… and why does that make her a little hotter?

"Oh~ been a while since I've seen you look at me that way." Laxus mocked.

"This is not good." Master said. "Which request is missing?"

"The cursed island, Galuna." Mira answered, her glare still on Laxus.

"What?" Makarov gasped.

"Galuna Island?" Macao and Wakaba exclaimed.

"That's insane!" Laki gasped.

"Those guys are such idiots!" Alzack and Bisca snapped.

"Laxus! Go bring them back!" Master ordered.

"You're kidding me." Laxus said. "I've got work to do. Aren't the wizards in this Guild supposed to be able to take care of themselves? Right?"

"Are you fucking serious?!" I snapped. "How the hell can someone like you be allowed to stay as an S class Wizard?"

"Who other than you in here has the power to bring Natsu back by force?" Makarov demanded.

"Gramps…" Gray called out as he stood up from his seat. "I can't let that one ride. I'll go bring them back."

"I'm not sure." Master said.

"Then I'll go with him Master." I spoke up. "Knowing Natsu, he won't come back quietly and might cause some property damage. My Pokémon will be able to handle him. Unlike some people… *throws a glare at Laxus* I care for my friends."

"Hmm, alright." Master said. "Gray and Jason, you are to bring Natsu, Lucy and Happy back!"

Immediately, the two of us left to go get our things. We agreed to meet up at the train station ASAP.

(3rd PoV)

After Jason and Gray left, everyone else had a look of worry on their faces. Everyone except Laxus that is.

"Well look at that." Laxus mocked. "Guess you didn't need me after all. The ice brat and freak monster tamer went to get them."

"They're not "freak monsters"!" Mira snapped. "They're called Pokémon!"

"Whatever, doesn't matter to me." Laxus said. "Why do you care about them so much anyway? It's got your old fire burning again."

Mirajane said nothing as she continued to glare at the blonde pompous asshole while tightening her fists. It then clicked for him, and Laxus started laughing.

"*Laughing* Wait, wait hold on!" Laxus said. "You actually like that guy, don't you? "The Demon" fell for someone! That's priceless!"

"LAXUS!" Makarov snapped.

When said man turned to look down at the Master, he paused at the look on his face. It was a face he had never seen being directed at him before. Unbridled fury.

"You are not to talk about your fellow member like that." Makarov said. "And I agree with what Jason said."

"About what?" Laxus asked.

"About you willingly choosing not to stop Happy or telling me about it." Makarov said. "And you knew that was Happy, without a doubt. They are on that quest because of you!"

"So what?" Laxus scoffed.

"If something happens to those kids…" Makarov said. "You'll be banished from Fairy Tail!"

Everyone looked at their Master in shock, even Laxus himself had nothing to say.

"But if they come back safe and sound, you will be given a strike." Makarov continued. "Three and you're gone."

After a while, Laxus found his voice again.

"Y-You can't do that gramps!" Laxus argued.

"I can and I will." Makarov stated. "For too long I have given you lenience, but no more!"

Laxus was horrified and completely angered.

(Jay Pov)

Soon me and Gray meet back up and boarded the train heading for Hargeon. A port town and the place where Natsu and Lucy meet while the pink haired idiot was looking for his dad.

"So what's up with Galuna Island?" I asked my friend to pass the time.

"Not much to tell." Gray said. "It's an island shaped like a crescent moon, far into the sea. It was once called "Moon Island" but now a days it goes by "The Demon Isle"."

"Why is it called that?" I asked.

"Due to the curse that's apparently on it." Gray said. "They say that anyone who goes to the island gets cursed."

"Huh. That reminds me of New Moon Island." I said out loud.

"New Moon Island?" Gray asked.

"A small island in the Sinnoh Region." I answered. "It's the home of the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai."

"Who's Darkrai?" Gray asked.

Rotom then came out of my bag.

"Bzzt! That's my cue to shine! Bzzt!" Rotom said.

It then brought up the information on Darkrai along with an image.

"Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Pokémon. On moonless nights, this Pokémon will cause people and other Pokémon to experience horrific nightmares. However, this is unintentional, and it doesn't truly mean any harm to others." Rotom explained.

"Well would you look at that." Gray said. "Guess not all Pokémon are as friendly as yours."

"All Pokémon are friendly." I said. "You just need to give them their space and gain their trust."

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind." Gray said.

We finally reached our destination and quickly got off the train.

"Okay, since you said that island is far out at sea, they must be at the port to find a boat." I theorized.

"I was thinking the same thing." Gray nodded.

I took out the Premier Ball and unleashed Hime.

"The second we see those three and I give the signal, grab them with your Psychic." I ordered.

"Understood." Hime nodded.

"Smart thinking Jay." Gray said.

We headed to the docks to find Team Natsu. We asked the fishermen if anyone had seen them, luckily for us they did, and we found them talking to a man.

"I don't know why you want to go there, but there isn't any ship here that'll take you." The man said. "Even pirates avoid it."

"But…" Lucy said.

"Then it's decided. We're swimming." Natsu said happily.

"Aye!" Happy said.

"That's impossible, got it?" Lucy snapped.

"Now Hime." I said.

My Psychic/Fairy Pokémon quickly caught them with her Psychic and lifted them into the air.

"Wha?!" Lucy cried.

"What's going on?!" Natsu demanded.

"Everything's upside down." Happy commented as he was upside down himself.

"Found you~!" Gray said.

The three looked our way to see us standing there.

"Gray, Jay and Hime?" Lucy gasped.

"What are you doing here?" Natsu asked in shock.

"For you three idiots." I answered.

"Orders from Gramps to bring you back." Gray clarified.

"The jig's up already?" Natsu exclaimed.

"If you go back now, you might even get away without being expelled." Gray said. "We're going back."

"Expelled?!" Lucy exclaimed.

"Arceus damnit, I knew it." I sighed. "Natsu didn't bother telling you what would happen if someone took an S class request without Master's approval did he? Especially if they aren't at the proper rank."

"No he certainly did not!" Lucy responded.

"Good, if you use that as an excuse you might get off scot free." I advised.

"As if! I'm goin' on an S class quest!" Natsu argued.

"You ain't got the skills to handle it!" Gray countered. "If Erza finds out about this, you'll…"

That got them to freeze up.

"Gray, Jay save me!" Happy begged. "Those two forced me to come with them!"

"You traitor!" Lucy snapped.

"Nice try furball!" I said. "This whole thing started when you snatched the job off the S class board."

"How do you know that?!" Happy gasped as he was found out quickly.

"Laxus saw you sneak out with it." I said. "Course the asshole didn't say anything about it till after Mira found it missing."

"I'm gonna face Erza down!" Natsu vowed. "I'm not gonna back down from this!"

Natsu then let loose some fire from his mouth at Hime. She was able to dodge but let him, Lucy and Happy go in the process. Although the cat landed on his head.

"Sorry Jay." Hime apologized.

"It's okay." I said. "I don't get it. Why is this so important to you?"

"This is a direct order from the Master!" Gray said. "We're gonna bring you back by force if we need to!"

Gray then formed ice in his hand.

"Don't complain if you get hurt!" Gray warned.

"You're on!" Natsu retorted while summoning fire in his hand.

"So much for handling this peacefully." I said as I reached for my other Pokéballs.

"Magic?" the man from before gasped. "Are you wizards?"

We all turned to him.

"Could you be here to lift the curse from the island?" he said, sounding hopeful.

"Yeah!" Natsu said.

"Well, we were…" Lucy tried to explain.

"I won't let you go!" Gray said.

"Get on!" he said immediately.

"Apologize sir, but we can't." I said. "While we are wizards from a Guild, we're not at the proper rank to do so."

While both me and Gray were distracted, Natsu took advantage of it and slugged Gray in the gut, knocking him out.

"Oh well, guess we're ridin' this boat." Natsu said as he hosted Gray on his shoulder.

"We're taking Gray with us?" Lucy asked.

"If this guy goes back to the Guild, Erza'll be coming next!" Natsu pointed out.

Both started to shake in fear.

"Did you forget we're still here?" I asked him with Hime at my side. "As well as the rest of my team?"

"Oh yeah." Natsu said.

"Look I get wanting to prove yourself, I really do." I said. "But doing something like this isn't going to do that."

I look at the man.

"I'm sorry, truly I am, but I can't let them go to that island." I said.

"Please, you must!" he begged. "If someone doesn't help soon, then all of the villagers will perish!"

My eyes widened at what he said.

"Hold on a second, did you say "villagers"?" I asked. "There are people living on that island?" 'I thought someone on the mainland made the request.'

"That's right." He answered. "I've been waiting here for some wizards to help but nobody came. Until you all that is!"

'People are in trouble…' I thought before making up my mind. "Alright we'll help."

"Really Jay?" Lucy asked.

"Awesome!" Natsu cheered. "Now we got this quest in the bag!"

"I'm not doing this for the job!" I snapped. "I'm doing this for the villagers on the island."

Soon afterwards we were off. I returned Hime and Natsu tied up Gray before starting to hurl over the boat's side. Gray woke up halfway there.

"Great, now I get scared…" Lucy groaned.

"You're one to talk, after getting me mixed up in this!" Gray growled. "What's the big idea Jay?"

"Like I said before. I'm not doing this for fame or the reward." I said. "I'm doing it for the villagers on the island."

"What about you?" Gray asked the boat owner. "Why'd you launch the boat?"

"My name is Bobo." The man finally introduced himself. "I once was a citizen of that island. I ran away from that cursed isle."

"What's the curse exactly?" I asked.

"If you go to that island, grave misfortune will befall you." Bobo said. "Can you really undo the curse?"

Bob then showed his left arm that was kept hidden. Me, Lucy, Gray and Happy gasped in shock. Bobo's left arm looked like a blackish-purplish humanoid insect.

"The demon's curse." Bobo finished.

"Mister, your arm…" Gray said.

"The curse… You don't mean…" Lucy said.

"How long has this been happening?" I asked.

"About as long as when the village's chief requested help." Bobo answered. "3 years."

"3… years…" I muttered in shock. "And nobody in that time frame even bothered to check what was happening?"

"As I said back on the mainland." Bobo said as he re-hid his arm. "You're the first ones who came."

I look down in anger. How could anyone let people suffer for that long and not do anything about it?

"You can see it now." Bobo said looking ahead.

Looking forward we see an island.

"That's Galuna Island." Bobo explained.

"What's that?" Lucy asked. "There's something shining on the peak of the mountain."

She was right. There was a bright light glowing.

'What is that?' I wondered.

"Huh? Where'd he go?!" Lucy asked in surprise.

Looking back, we see she's right! Bobo's gone! Straight up disappeared!

"Did he fall overboard?" Gray asked.

"We would've heard a splash if he did." I said while looking around.

"He disappeared when we weren't looking." Happy chimed in.

"No shit sherlock!" I snapped.

Seriously, what's with this cat and stating the obvious? If it's not that then it's some rude, arrogant or flat out stupid sh-… wait…

"Are the waters starting to feel choppy to anyone else?" I ask.

"What's that sound?" Lucy asked while looking over the side.

Good thing Gray looked over to the other side because he found the answer to both our questions. The bad news is it wasn't good.

"Ah, guys!" Gray shouted.

Looking at him, I notice the reason why too.

"Tidal wave!" I yelled.

"We're being engulfed!" Gray said. "Hold on!"

"Happy, grab onto the boat and fly!" Lucy ordered.

"I can't!" Happy said.

Before I could grab either Jaw's or Tone's Balls, we were sucked into the water. The current made it impossible to do anything. It wasn't long until all I saw was darkness.

"Jay! Jay!"

I heard someone calling my name while my body was shaking.

"Jason! Wake up please!"

Stirring wake, I open my eyes to see Lucy above me.

"You're okay!" Lucy said happily.

"Argh." I groaned while sitting up. "For the most part. What about the other guys?"

"They're okay too." Lucy said as she pointed to them.

Well, Natsu and Gray were, Happy was stuck waist up in the sand. Wait sand? Looking around, I see we're on a beach.

"Did we make it to the isle?" I asked.

"A giant wave washed us here." Lucy said.

"Good thing we lucked out." Gray said relieved.

"But what was with that guy…" Lucy pondered. "He said something about the Demon Curse?"

"Yeah, you're right." I said.

"Who cares! Let's go exploring!" Natsu shouted. "It's an expedition!"

"Aye!" Happy said.

"So you're more interested in that than the request?" Lucy asks with a sweatdrop.

"There seems to be only one village on this island." Lucy said as she read the request paper. "The chieftain there is the person who made the request. Let's search for him first."

"That would be the best idea." I agreed.

"Wait." Gray said.

"What? The ship's destroyed, so you can't bring us back." Natsu said.

"No. I'm coming." Gray said.

The rest of us were surprised to hear that.

"Really?" I asked.

"It'd be annoying if you got up to the second floor before me, and if you got expelled that wouldn't be any fun." Gray said. "We do this job right, and Gramps has nothing to complain about, right?"

We all grin in anticipation.

"Let's go!" Gray said.

We began walking into the forest to find the village. It wasn't until nightfall did we find the place. It was a giant wooden wall with a "keep out" sign on it.

"Okay, we made it here. Now what?" Gray asked.

"What do they mean, "keep out"?" Natsu asked.

"There has to be someone standing guard." I said. "We just have to yell and get their attention."

"Excuse us! Please open the gate!" Lucy called out.

After a few moments no one responded.

"Should we bust it down?" Natsu asked with a smirk.

"No!" I answered while punching him in the back of the head.

"Who goes there?!" a voice, one of the villagers, at the top of the wall shouted.

Looking up we see two guards.

"We're from the wizard's guild, Fairy Tail!" Lucy answered.

"We didn't hear that anyone accepted the request!" the first villager said.

"Uh, well…" Lucy tried to come up with an excuse.

"There must have been a mix up, and the message was late!" Gray lied.

"Show us your marks!" the villager demanded. "All of you!"

So we showed our Guild marks. Mine, as you know, being on my right forearm. While Natsu's was on his right shoulder and Happy had it on his back. Lucy on the back of her right hand. Gray was his right pec.

"They're for real!" both the guards gasped. "They actually came!"

Shortly afterwards, the gate opened to allow us inside. There were already villagers coming to see us. Just goes to show how desperate these people were for help. Judging by the cloaks they're wearing; they were hiding the parts of their bodies that… weren't human.

"It's like we're entering the mouth of a giant monster." Happy once again saying stupid shit.

"Please don't say things like that." Lucy begged.

We walked into the village and was greeted by a man holding a staff with a crescent moon at the top. Considering what Gray told me back on the train, this was most likely the village chieftain.

"I am the chief of this village, Moka!" the chief said.

Look at me hitting the nail on the head.

"It is good to meet you sir." I said, giving a bow. "We're from Fairy Tail, here to help you and your people."

"Firstly, I have something to show you." Moka said before turning to his people. "Villagers!"

On que, they all removed their cloaks to show their bodies. Some, like Bobo, had their arms turned. Others were their legs and the rest had horns growing from their heads.

"The same as the man on the boat." Gray said.

"Yeah." Lucy said sadly.

"Those sideburns are incredible!" Natsu exclaimed, looking at Moka. (Deep wow sound effect)

"No, no… This is what I wanted to show you." Moka said while waving his altered hand. "Every living thing on this island has been cursed like this. Dogs and birds, without exception."

"Not that I doubt you, but what basis do you have for calling it a curse?" Gray asked.

"He's right." I said. "Have you considered it might just be an epidemic of some kind?"

"We've consulted countless doctors, but they say there is no disease like this." Moka explained. "And this appearance of ours is linked to the moon's evil spell."

"The moon's spell?" Lucy asked.

"This place has absorbed moonlight since ancient times, and the island once sparked beautifully like the moon." Moka said. "But some years ago, the light from the moon started changing to a purple color."

"A purple color?" Natsu asked.

"Ah! The moon is coming out." Happy said.

Looking up we could see some clouds that were covering the moon move away. To our shock we see that Moka was telling the truth.

"He's right!" Lucy gasped. "The moon is purple!"

"That really gives me the creeps." Gray stated.

"It's the curse." Moka groaned.

Hearing the sound in his voice, I look back to him and see not only him, but all the villagers were struggling.

"Oi! What's wrong?" I asked concerned.

"This is the evil spell of the moon!" Moka grunted.

As soon as he finished, all the villagers started screaming in pain grabbing their heads!

Our group could do nothing but watch in shock and horror at what was happening to them.

"What?" Lucy gasped in fear.

Right in front of us, they began to change and morph. Growing claws, fangs, wings, beaks and other assortments of inhuman additions.

"They're…" Gray said.

"What's going on?" Lucy asked.

"No… way…" I muttered.

"The heck?" Natsu asked.

Soon the villagers finished changing. They all looked like demons.

"I apologize for startling you." Moka said.

"What in the world is this?" Gray asked.

"How awful…" Lucy said.

"This is what they had to endure all these years?" I said.

"How…" Natsu started to say. "How cool!"

(. . .)

And just like that, the tense mood was broken by a pink idiot. Everyone had gone full body white.

"Awesome! You got horns and spines and stuff!" Natsu said. "How can I get some?"

"He thinks this is cool?" A male villager asked.

"No one's ever said that before." A female villager said.

"Hey, it's a real problem for them to look like this!" Lucy snapped.

"Really?" Natsu asked.

"How would you feel if you turned into something you didn't like?" I asked him.

"Oh, my bad." Natsu apologized while rubbing the back of his head. "Guess we'd better do something about it."

"He finally gets it." Happy said.

"Get a clue, seriously." Gray said.

"Returning to the matter at hand." Moka said. "When the purple moon appears, we all change to these demonic forms."

I look at a crying child that is being comforted by who I'm guessing is his mother.

"If this cannot be called a curse, then what is?" Moka asked.

As Moka continued to talk all the villagers were crying. I clenched my fist, hearing how much these poor people had to suffer.

"When the morning comes, everyone returns to their previous forms." Moka said. "However, some never change back again!"

"That's…" Lucy said.

"What happens to those that don't?" I asked, dreading the answer.

"The ones who have been turned into demons, who have lost their minds…" Moka answered. "We have no choice but to kill them."

We were shocked and horrified at the answer given.

"But there might be a way to return them too normal!" Natsu argued.

"If we leave them be, then everyone would be killed by the demon!" Moka said. "Even when we lock them up, they destroy the jail. So… *takes out a picture and starts to cry* I killed my own son. My son, whose mind was turned into that of a demon."

I couldn't believe it. This man had to kill his own son to save his people. How many had to do the same thing? How many of their friends and family did they kill? How many could've been saved if someone came to this island sooner?! Moka had lowered the picture, so we were able to see his son's face and were shocked. Bobo was his son.

"That's…" Lucy started to say. "But yesterday, we…"

"Shh!" Gray silenced her. "I know why that guy disappeared. He couldn't rest in peace, could he?"

'A ghost?' Lucy thought in realization.

'I was thinking the same thing.' I thought. 'Wouldn't be the first time I saw a ghost.'

"Please save this island!" Moka begged while bowing his head. "If things stay like this, all of us will lose our minds and turn to demons!"

"We won't let that happen!" Natsu vowed. "We'll do something about it!"

"There is only one way to rid us of the curse." Moka said.

"What is it?" I asked.

"The moon…" Moka revealed. "Please destroy the moon."

We were shocked once more due to the request. How could we not, the guy just asked us to blow up the fucking moon! We made a group decision to rest for the night.

(3rd PoV)

"The moon just keeps getting creepier the more you look at it." Happy said, looking out their rooms window.

"Happy, hurry and close the window." Lucy said. "The chief explained, remember? If we get exposed to too much moonlight, we'll turn into demons ourselves."

"Except it took years for that to happen, Luc." Jason reminded her. "I doubt a couple of days will do anything to us."

"Anyway, I dunno…" Natsu said.

"Do they seriously expect us to destroy the moon?" Gray asked.

"Who knows how many punches it'll take?" Natsu wondered.

"You're planning on destroying it?!" Gray and Jay exclaimed.

"What are you thinking?" Gray then asked.

"Yeah. I don't think there's a wizard that could do that." Lucy said. "Oh! What about your Pokémon Jay?"

"While there are certain Pokémon that could destroy the moon, none of them are mine." Jay answered. "Even if they could, I wouldn't order them to do it."

"But "destroy the moon" is the request." Natsu argued. "If we accept a request and can't complete it, it'll look bad for Fairy Tail."

"I think people would understand, given the circumstances." Jay said while deadpanning.

"Exactly! We can't do the impossible!" Gray said. "How did you plan on getting to the moon anyway?"

"Happy." Natsu simply said.

"Uh, not happening." Happy denied.

"Well, he said to destroy the moon, but if we poke around maybe we can find another way to lift the curse." Lucy suggested.

Then a shirt hit her in the face.

"Walking all day after the shipwreck… I'm beat." Gray said while stripping, already in his boxers.

"Why are you stripping?" Lucy asked.

"Right! So tomorrow we go exploring the island." Natsu said. "Now to bed!"

"Aye, sir!" Happy said as both jumped on the same futon.

"We'll think about it tomorrow." Gray said, flopping on his.

"Rest now. Think about shit tomorrow." Jay said while laying on his futon. "That's an idea I can get behind."

"Yeah. I'm tired, too." Lucy agreed while rubbing her eye. "Let's go to sleep."

So the group of five went to bed and made their way to dream land…

"How am I supposed to sleep between a beast and an exhibitionist!" Lucy demanded, shooting up.

"Yeah, sleeping isn't gonna happen with them snoring like that." Jay said sitting up. "Seriously, these two could wake a Snorlax up."

Or at least three did. Natsu and Gray's snoring was keeping Jay and Lucy up, making it impossible for them to sleep. Happy, seemingly gotten use to it.

"We're gonna be dead tired in the morning!" Lucy whined.

"Hmm. I think I have an idea." Jay said.

"Like smothering them in their sleep?" Lucy asked.

"Let's call that a plan B." Jay said with a sweatdrop. "First let's move our beds away from them."

After moving the futons, the two sat on them.

"Okay, now what?" Lucy asked.

"This." Jay said with a finger pointing up. "Safeguard."

A green and white dome appeared around them.

"What's this supposed to do?" Lucy asked.

"Haven't you noticed?" Jay asked with a smirk.

Taking a few seconds to think, she turned her head towards the snoring duo, only to hear nothing.

"I can't hear them." Lucy gasped. "How?"

"During my travels in the Hoenn Region, I came across an abandoned town." Jay said. "I'll spare you the long story and simply say that I met a Pokémon called Abra there that liked to sleep and dream about better days. To block out any sounds, it used Safeguard. Normally it's used to protect oneself from status conditions like poison."

"Wow that must be one smart Pokémon!" Lucy said.

"Well, we should get some sleep while we can." Jay said.

"Yeah." Lucy agreed.

They both went to sleep, listening to peaceful silence. All the while the other boys kept sawing logs throughout the night. The next morning came, and the group made their way into the forest to begin their search for possible alternative answers to their situation.

"It's early…" Natsu groaned.

"Really damn early…" Gray groaned.

"The faster we get searching, the faster we find answers." Jay said.

"Now get motivated and get going!" Lucy cheered.

"'kay/Aye…" the two tired humans and one cat said.

"Gate of the Clock! Open! Horologium!" Lucy announced.

"The time is 7:48." Horologium said as he appeared.

After Lucy hopped into the Clock Spirit, we made a way into the forest. There had to be something on the island that could help us.

"You think we can really lift the curse without destroying the moon?" Natsu asked.

"Well what other choice do we have?" Gray asked back. "And even if we could destroy it, it's a bad idea!"

"Gray's right." I said. "The ocean would have way smaller tides and would affect all the coastal animals, leading to mass extinctions. Plus, the climate on Earth…land would be destabilized. That's also not mentioning the land animals that rely on hunting in the dark. The seasons getting all out of whack! Or even-!"

"The moon-viewing festival wouldn't happen anymore!" Gray interrupted me like everything I just said wasn't important enough.

"That's true!" Natsu exclaimed in horror. "We'd never eat the limited-time-only "Fairy Tail Moon-View Steak" again!"

"I don't know what I'd do if my favorite Moon-View Salted Fish was gone…" Happy chimed in.

"Oh yes, that would be a real shame." I said sarcastically. "Whatever would you do without limited time food? Not like the planet you're literally living on doesn't matter!"

"She says "hey you three! I don't know what you're blabbing about, but keep it down, will you?"." Horologium said.

"Walk on your own." Natsu retorted.

"Hey, can you really use Celestial Spirits like that?" Gray asked.

"If it's a part of their contract I guess." I said.

"She says "we're up against a curse here, you know. It's scary when it's something ephemeral."." Horologium said.

"That's what I call an S class quest!" Natsu cheered. "I'm fired up!"

"I'll freeze that curse up no prob!" Gray said. "Nothing to be scared of!"

"She says "you guys really are idiots."." Horologium said.

"Aye" Happy said.

Seeing Lucy still scared so I tried to put her at ease. I slowed down a bit to walk beside the Spirit.

"I get you're worried Lucy and that's okay." I said, getting her attention. "But like I said last night. The changes started happening to the villager's years after the moon started turning purple. I doubt we'll be here no more than a week at worst. Even less than that at best."

Lucy smiles at me in appreciation.

"She says "thank you Jason."." Horologium said.

"You're welcome, Luc." I said.

Just then a thumping sound was heard, causing us to stop.

"What's that?" Natsu asked.

Looking back, we saw a giant ass creature! The damn thing was taller than the trees!

"W-What the heck?" Natsu exclaimed.

"It's huge!" Gray yelled.

"She says "hurry up and get it, guys!"." Horologium said.

The monster started to breathe in, and I knew something was coming our way.

"Don't got to tell us twice!" I responded. "Gray shield!"

"Ice Make Shield!" Gray yelled as he protected us from the breath attack… but not from the smell.

Me, Natsu and Gray were bombarded by a terrible stench!

"She says "Hey, what's the matter? Wait, when did you get in here?". He says "Aye!"." Horologium said.

Right after saying that the Spirit disappeared. Seems like the stench was too much even for him. This caused Lucy and Happy to get a whiff of the stuff as well.

"Eww!" both exclaimed.

After the gas cleared up, not only were we able to breathe again, but also see the identity of our attacker as it laughed.

"A mouse?" Lucy asked.

"Natsu's down!" Gray said.

"He's got a strong sense of smell." Happy said.

"It's coming!" I yelled.

"Run!" Natsu screamed.

And so, we did. We ran and dodged the mouses breath attacks. Gray had enough and came up with an idea.

"Ice Make Floor!" Gray yelled.

He made a path of ice under the mouses feet to cause it to slip and fall on its back! (Insert WOW sound effect)

"Nice thinking Gray!" I said.

"Do that from the start next time!" Natsu complained.

"No complaining!" Gray snapped.

Lucy just sighs but notices something to our right.

"Look, there's some kind of building." Lucy said. "Let's go in there while we have the chance."

She looks back and sees us beating the mouse up.

"Beat it up while we have the chance!" the three of us yelled.

…What? It attacked us first, so I was allowed. Plus, pay back for that nasty breath.

"Guys…" Lucy groaned.

After getting our hits in, we entered the temple, which if I had to take a wild guess was probably called the "Temple of the Moon" or something like that.

"It's quite large." Lucy said.

"It's falling apart." Natsu observed.

"What era is this thing from?" Gray wondered.

"Be careful." I warned. "This place could be rigged with traps."

"What?" Natsu asked when he noticed the symbols on the walls.

"The moon, huh?" Gray stated. "Like I told Jay on the train ride to Hargeon, the island was originally called "The Island of the Moon"."

"Island of the Moon, the moon's curse, moon symbols…" Lucy said. "These ruins are really suspicious."

"Maybe they can give us answers." I suggested.

"But they're in horrible shape." Natsu said before stomping his foot on the ground. "Is this floor even safe?"

"Hey, stop that!" Lucy said.

"What do you think will happen if it br-." I tried to say before the floor broke, sending us all down. "Arceus fucking damnit!"

"Natsu you idiot!" Gray screamed. "Look what you did!"

Luckily the fall wasn't that long, but it still would've been harmful to my normal body. Especially with all the rocks that fell on us afterwards. Did I ever mention how glad I am for the increased durability the Plates give me? Because I am very, very glad.

"Hey, is everyone okay?" Natsu asked after pushing the rocks off us.

"No, not at all thanks to you!" Lucy snapped.

"Why can't you think before destroying things!" Gray snapped.

"Natsu, BAKA!" I snapped.

"Happy, can you fly up with everyone?" Lucy asked.

"I can't…" Happy responded.

"Underground ruins, huh?" Gray asked.

"It's a secret cave!" Natsu cheered.

"Can you not act like a child hyped up on sugar?" I asked the pink idiot.

"We're here and all, so let's go exploring!" Natsu cheered as he ran down a tunnel, flapping his arms around.

"Hey! That's enough running amuck out of you!" Gray snapped.

Chasing after him because it wouldn't be a good idea to get separated, we followed Natsu down the tunnel. We were able to catch up to him after he stopped in what seemed like a big open room. For some reason, my danger senses were going off.

"Natsu?" Lucy asked.

"What's the matter?" Gray asked.

"What is this?" Natsu asked looking slightly up.

We walked up to him to see what was wrong.

"What is… what…?" I started to ask before trailing off as my eyes widened in shock.

It wasn't just me either as Gray, Lucy and Happy's eyes also widened in shock, more so with Gray. In front of us was a giant block of ice that held what looked like some kind of monster inside of it.

"This is…" Gray tried to speak. "…Deliora!"

"Deliora?" I asked him.

But it's like Gray was in a trance and couldn't hear me as he stepped toward the ice. I think I heard some fear and anger in his voice too.

"You're joking… Why is Deliora here?" Gray asked in fear. "I can't believe this! There's no way it'd be in a place like this!"

"You know this thing?" Natsu asked as we quickly moved to Gray's side.

"That's… That's…" Gray tried to speak but couldn't.

The poor guy looked to be on the verge of a panic attack!

"Gray, calm down." Lucy said as she put her hand on his shoulder.

This seemed to help as he took a couple of breaths.

"Gray if this thing is dangerous, then you need to tell us who and what the hell is Deliora." I said sternly.

"Deliora… is the Demon of Disaster." Gray revealed.

"Demon of Ashtray?" Natsu asked, completely messing up the name.

"Disaster." Happy corrected him.

"It's just like it was back then." Gray continued. "What the hell happened?"

"I'm guessing it's not supposed to be here?" I asked.

"Not even close." Gray growled.

Before more could be said, we heard footsteps coming our way down a different path. Acting quickly, we hid behind some stalagmites. Walking into the room was to men. One had blue hair and green clothes while the other only had pants on and a dog's face.

"You heard people's voices around here?" blue hair asked.

The dog man growled in response.

"It's noon. I'm sleepy." blue hair said.

Once again, the dog growled in response. Can this dude even speak English?

"Toby, you got exposed to the Moon Drip?" blue hair asked. "You got like, ears and stuff!"

"No dude!" Toby snapped. "They're like, fashion, yo!"

'Oh… Guess he can talk normally.' I thought.

"Just teasing, you dolt." blue hair said.

"Yuka, you're so mean." Toby whined.

"Moon Drip?" Lucy whispered. "Are they talking about the curse?"

"Someone else is coming." I whispered.

"Yuka, Toby, I bring sad news." a girl with pink hair wearing a goth dress said, entering the room from a different tunnel.

"It's you, Sherry." Yuka said.

Toby growled and waved in greetings.

"Angelica has been bullied by someone." Sherry said.

"It's a mouse, dude!" Toby snapped. "Don't give it no fancy name!"

'That big ass mouse is with them?' I thought, raising an eyebrow.

"She is not a mouse!" Sherry argued. "Angelica is a hunter that runs through the darkness… and… love!"

"…Nani da fuck?" I whispered in confusion.

"We've got some serious weirdos here." Lucy whispered. "Especially that last one."

"They're not from this island." Natsu whispered. "They smell different."

"And they don't seem like they're cursed either." Happy whispered.

"Intruders?" Yuka asked.

"And we haven't collected all the moonlight we need yet!" Sherry sighed. "How vexing!"

Sherry turned to her colleagues.

"Let us exterminate the intruders before the Sub-Zero Emperor hears of them." Sherry said. "Yes. Before the moon's true form appears."

"Yeah." Yuka said.

Toby growled in agreement.

"We can't let them survive if they've seen Deliora." Sherry said. "In other words… love!"

"You mean, death?" Toby asked.

'Ok~ay, time for these weirdos to go!' I thought.

Picking up a pebble, I chucked it down a tunnel over to their left to make them think the ones they're looking for (i.e., us) just ran down that way. Which worked since they turned in that direction.

"What's that?" Sherry asked.

"It's over there." Yuka said.

Immediately, that group of three ran off to investigate. Allowing our group to come out of hiding.

"Good thinking Jay." Lucy said.

"Aye." Happy said while flying.

"Thanks." I said.

"What? Why don't we catch 'em and make 'em answer questions?" Natsu asked.

"Not yet." Lucy said. "Let's look around a bit more."

"Plus, we don't know how many people are with them." I added. "Any fighting would've alerted their allies."

"This has gotten kind of complicated." Natsu admitted.

"Who is this "Sub-Zero" person?" Happy asked.

"Maybe their boss?" I guessed.

"Why the heck did they bring Deliora here?" Gray asked. "And how did they find the place it was sealed anyway?"

"The place it was sealed?" Lucy asked.

"So Deliora was someplace else before here?" I asked.

"Yeah." Gray said. "This thing was sealed in a glacier on the northern continent. An immortal demon that ran rampant 10 years ago in the land of Isvan. The demon who Ur, the Wizard who taught me magic, gave her life to seal away!"

I looked at Gray in surprise! His master died to stop this thing by using her own life!

"I don't know what connection it has to the curse on this island," Gray continued. "but this thing should never be here!"

Gray's magic started to leak out of his hands in anger.

"Who the hell is this Emperor person?" Gray demanded. "I ain't gonna let you get away with throwing dirt on Ur's name!"
