Chapter 01 The Meeting between a Phantom and a Princess

Miko stepped out of the school bus the sun beating down on his shoulders as he slung his backpack over one.

As he walked he looked at the city below the hill. He lived in the outskirts of the city, so the hustle and bustle was a distant murmur,

but it was comforting nonetheless. It was a stark contrast to the quiet, almost eerie silence of the orphanage where he grew up.

His sneakers scuffed against the concrete as he walked, the only sound piercing the stillness of the afternoon.

As he approached his house, the thoughts of the fall formal swirled in his mind like leaves in a storm.

Miko had always been an outsider, content with his solitary existence, but lately, he'd felt a strange pull towards the social whirlwind of high school.

He'd overheard the whispers of excitement from his classmates, the giggles and whispers about dresses and dates, and something within him had stirred.

It was as if a part of him longed to be a part of that world, to feel the warmth of belonging, even if it was just for one night.

But he couldn't especially because of his Powers.

Ever since he got his powers Miko had always felt like he was different. he always felt alienated, The whispers of his classmates grew louder every time he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror.

His eyes, a piercing shade of green that seemed to glow with an otherworldly light, were a constant reminder of his true origins of somebody who is not of this universe,

He sighed as he entered his two-story house, feeling the weight of his indecision.

Miko threw his backpack on the floor of the entryway and trudged up the stairs to his room. It was a big room adorned with a multiple posters of his favorite anime and videogames, he had 30-inch flat screen smart TV in front of his bed with a PS4 and an Xbox connected to it.

He had a large bookshelf containing his comic books from both Marvel and DC, manga, along with books on science fiction, a nod to his fascination with the universe beyond.

He flopped onto his bed, the springs protesting slightly under his weight. The silence was a stark contrast to the cacophony of thoughts racing through his mind. Should he go to the Fall Formal? Would people accept him?

For the past two years the concept of acceptance was foreign to Miko. Since discovering his powers he had chose to distance himself from almost everyone, including his best friend.

'not to mention that dream...' he thought about his dream about the Giant of Light.

He felt his heart race as he remembered the vividness of the dream, the warmth that filled him, and the strange sense of peace.

Miko sat up and swiped a hand through his hair, pushing the thoughts aside as he walked over to his bookshelf. He pulled out an issue of Superman and began to flip through the pages, searching for solace in the familiar panels of one of his favorite superheroes

'Good thing DC and Marvel exist in this universe' Miko mused as he turned a page, besides the comic books, and manga that he loved.

Miko also got hooked into the Daring Do books, he had alway been interested in reading them when he watched the show, and now that he is in the MLP universe why not.

The house was quiet, a testament to his solitary life since the orphanage. The walls held no secrets, only echoes of his own thoughts and fears.

He had always felt like an outsider, even among his fellow orphans as he grew up in the orphanage, even though he made a few friends here and there during his childhood, unfortunately they never lasted.

But now, with the Fall Formal looming, Miko felt a yearning to break free from his self-imposed exile.

After dinner he got ready for bed, the anticipation of the next day's decision making his thoughts a tangled web. He knew he had to decide soon, the event was less than a week away.

As he lay in the darkness, the silence of his room was a stark reminder of the choice before him.

Miko rolled over, staring at the ceiling, his thoughts racing. The decision to attend the Fall Formal would interacting with his peers, something he hadn't done all that much since ever since his powers apeared.

He reached under his pillow and pulled out a small, leather-bound journal. In it, he had recorded every instance of his powers manifesting, every strange event that had occurred since freshman year.

The pages were filled with scribbled notes and diagrams, a testament to his tireless efforts to understand his abilities. His hand hovered over the blank page, considering whether to scribble down the whispers of doubt that filled his mind.

Deciding against it he went to sleep,

He slowly opened his eyes and sat up to see he was in the white void again, the same place from his dream. "This Again?" He asked more to himself

He stood up, the coldness of the non-existent ground seeping through his pajamas. The giant of light from his dreams was nowhere to be seen, but he felt its presence, a comforting warmth that seemed to emanate from within himself.

He looked around in suspicion before he sighed "alright where are you?" He said "I know you're here!"

The air shimmered and the giant of light appeared before him, its ethereal form towering over Miko's small frame.

The creature didn't speak, but its eyes, two oval shaped orbs of pure, undiluted warmth, conveyed a silent understanding.

The giant of light was standing before him, its warmth enveloping him like a gentle embrace.

Miko took a deep breath, feeling the weight of his decision press down on his chest. He looked up into the giant's eyes, searching for answers to questions he hadn't yet asked.

The giant remained silent, but its eyes grew brighter, and the warmth grew stronger, as if urging him to find his resolve.

This time, the giant of light was speaking to him, its words echoing through his mind like the toll of a distant bell. "Miko...You are meant to be something more," it said, "you must embrace your destiny."

'destiny...?' Miko mused mentally 'what does he mean?' Miko looked into the eyes of the Giant "what are you talking about what Destiny?" Miko asked

"you must reignite the fires your beliefs...miko... only then will you realize your destiny" the Giant said looking back at his eyes as Miko looked at him in confusion "You must once again believe in not only the Light of Hope... But also in the Magic of Friendship"

Miko's heart pounded in his chest and his eyes widened in shock as he took in the gravity of the giant's words.

"But what if I screw everything up?" he thought aloud "what if I just make things worse?" Miko asked with fear and doubt, as possibile dark and tragic scenarios stormed around his mind.

The giant's eyes dimmed slightly, as if acknowledging his fear and doubt, but the warmth remained steadfast. "Worry not Miko" the giant nodded and if Miko could see his face he felt like the giant giving him an encouraging smile "You will find your way," it assured him, "for you are not alone." With that everything went white.

The next morning he groggily opened his eyes before he slowly sat up and stretched as he yawned "man what a night" he grumbled to himself scratching his head

'another dream' Miko thought with a small frown as he sat up thinking about the giant's words "destiny huh?" Miko whispered as he still had a lot of unanswered questions.

'the Light of Hope and the Magic of Friendship...' Miko thought gaining a small smile of nostalgia, words that he always held on to especially when life was hard on him, even back in his previous life.

He then looked at his digital clock to see it was 8:50 AM. He Blinked Before His eyes widened "Gah!" He yelped, all his sleepiness gone "Oh Shit! I'm Late!" He Exclaimed in panic, He threw the covers aside and jumped out of bed.

"Fuck!, Fuck!, Fuck!" he cursed repeatedly as he hurriedly got dressed in his usual attire, his thoughts racing.

As he dashed downstairs. He grabbed his left over grilled cheese sandwich from the fridge before he grabbed a red apple from the kitchen counter, tossing it into his mouth as he sprinted out the door.

The crunch of the apple mixed with the pounding of his feet against the pavement as he raced towards the bus stop. His mind was a tornado of thoughts, the giant's words weaving through the chaos.

Then he remembered the school bus was long gone "Double fuck!" He cursed again, thinking as he looked over the hill and saw the school in the distance, it was clear he had missed the bus.

"I can't believe I'm really going to do this shit" He sighed making a decision he took a step back before he closed his eyes and focused.

Then he snapped them open his green eye glowed an ethereal blue as he activated his powers

And with a running start he jumped over the cliff with super human agility and strength that seemed to come from out of nowhere.

Miko's heart was in his throat as he soared through the air, the wind whipping his hair into a frenzy. His stomach lurched, but there was an odd sense of control that he hadn't felt before.

He landed gracefully on top of a building before he started to jump from building to building making sure nobody saw him.

Miko's heart was racing as he made his way to school. The city looked so different from this height, the people and cars mere ants scurrying about their business.

He felt the rush of adrenaline and the thrill of using his powers in such a direct way. It was exhilarating, but also terrifying.

Miko knew that he couldn't let anyone see him like this. If they found out, everything would change. The whispers would turn to screams, and the looks of curiosity would become looks of fear.

He leaped and jumped over the rooftops, his muscles straining with the effort of controlling his descent. Each jump brought him closer to the school, and with each thud of his sneakers hitting the rooftops, his resolve grew stronger.

Miko's mind was a whirlwind of emotions as he approached the school, a mix of excitement and fear. He had never used his powers so openly before, but something about the giant's words had made him feel less alone.

once he was close he jumped down to the ground and began to run normally after turning off his powers.

Miko's sneakers slapped against the pavement as he sprinted the last few blocks to school, his heart hammering in his chest. He had to get there before anyone noticed his absence.

"Oh man I'm so fucking late, Vice Principal Luna's Gonna kill me!" He said knowing how scary and strict she can be, especially when she's in a bad mood

As he got closer to the school a familiar scream made him skid to a halt.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

He blinked, his expression slowly deadpanning before he sighed realizing the events of the first Equestria Girls movie is about to happen, 'and so it begins...' he thought as he slowly walked around the wondercolt statue.

Staying hidden he peeked to see who screamed even though he already knew who it was.

Sure enough, there she was, the soon to be Princess of Friendship herself Twilight Sparkle on her knees in front of the statue along with her loyal baby dragon assistant now turned dog Spike.

Twilight as a human is a young sixteen year old girl with light purple skin and straight back length navy blue-colored hair, stylized with rim cuts, and also has two lighter-purple and pink stripes running down her hair and her eyes were moderate violet which sparkled in the morning sun

and her attire consists of a blue polo shirt with a pink bow, a purple skirt with her cutie mark, and purple, pink, and black boots.

Spike is a purple dog with green eyes, dark purple eyebrows, bright green ears, green fur on the top of his head, a pale green underbelly, three lavender spots on his back, and sharp white teeth. He's wearing an indigo dog collar with silver spikes, and a gold tag with a pink heart.

Hiding behind the side of the statue Miko watched as Twilight brought one of her hands to her face and moved some of her fingers as if she had never seen them before in her life.

She then started flailing her arms wildly while panicking, she inspected the rest of her body as she works her way towards full-on Hyperventilation,

'Classic Twilighting' Miko mentally mused while staying hidden behind the side of the statue's pedestal.

Spike just scratches one ear then he stops, Twilight was still trying to figure out exactly how her limbs work.

"Twilight, you have to get it together!" Spike said, Twilight gets out of the fit of panic she was in, she takes a deep breath,

And let's it out while leaning her weight forward to rest on her fists and knees, "What...does the rest of me look like?" she asked nervously

Spike looked at her in concerned curiosity "Um, Like you. Only not you. Your muzzle's really small.

"My Muzzle!?" Twilight exclaimed in shock before she touched her face before her fingers touched her small nose.

'Jeez it was one thing watching this on TV but now..., Miko thought half concerned and half amused, half concerned because he thought she was about to have a heart attack, half amused because he thought it was funny during the first time he watched the movie.

Twilight starts freaking out all over again, but spike claps his paws over her mouth before the whimper coming out of it can get any louder.

"Are you gonna scream again?" He asked, when she shakes her head Spike removed his paws as they both look in the same direction towards the statue,

"Where are we?" Spike asked.

"I don't know but that must serve as a gateway back to Equestria" Twilight said before she pushes her hand through the surface of the mirror and the ghostly image of a hoof appears behind it.

Miko saw this and his eyes widen a bit 'Woah... so that's what the portal looks like in real life...' he thought before he shook his head 'what the hell am I doing I said I'm not going to get involved in all this...and besides she managed to fix all broken friendships here and solved all the problems here, so it's fine' he thought with a frown trying to convince himself he had nothing to do with this.

But before he could sneak off he remembered the giant's words 'you are not alone.' and that he needs to believe in the Light of Hope and the Magic of Friendship again, so he stopped and glanced back to Twilight especially her eyes, those sparkling amethyst orb that seemed to draw him in.

The very same eyes that was scarily similar to his special someone.

Miko closed his eyes trying to fervently and stubbornly resist to get involved as his face scrunched up, before he released a long quiet sigh slumping his shoulders as he did,

'Damn, I really can't say No to those eyes' he thought scratching the back of his head with a sigh.

Miko looked around to see if anybody was watching, especially the wrong people and when he saw nobody else around he looked back at Twilight and Spike.

"We need to find the crown as soon as possible and get back there, I suggest we start searching the castle first." She said to spike.

Miko took a deep breath before he approached Twilight and Spike.

"Umm, hi, you need a hand?" He asked,

She looked up to see him with his hand out to her as she stared at it for a bit, she then slowly placed her hand into his as Miko helped her up to her feet.

"Um, thanks" Twilight said wondering who he was, Miko nodded, staying calm and not geek out like a die hard brony. "It's no trouble, I'm Miko Tsuburaya, you two are Twilight and Spike and clearly you two are not from around here" he said with a small grin.

They both looked at him in surprise "I'm guessing you saw the whole thing?" She asked, her voice grew with concern.

At this he nodded before Miko continued speaking "well I couldn't exactly ignore it when you screamed to the heavens... I'm more surprised nobody has come outside to see what all the commotion was..." He murmured at the end.

Twilight's cheeks flushed a darker shade of purple "R-right..." she nodded awkwardly, clearly embarrassed.

Spike chuckled nervously, his tail wagging as he looked at Twilight. "Well, we did make quite the entrance," he said, trying to lighten the mood.

Miko chuckled as Twilight playfully glared at Spike before she cleared her throat and she asked "you probably have a whole bunch of questions don't you?"

He nodded, "I mean, I've seen stranger things, but yeah, I've got questions." His curiosity was piqued, and he couldn't deny the sudden excitement bubbling within him.

Twilight composed herself before she answered "well Spike and I are-" however before she could continue Spike stopped her.

"Twilight, are you sure it's a good Idea to tell him?" Spike asked a bit unsure, Twilight looked at him and nodded "yes, I'm sure of it spike he seems trustworthy enough."

Miko couldn't help but sweatdrop at there little conversation 'they do know I'm standing right here and can hear them...right?' he thought.

Spike thought for a moment before he nodded "okay I'll trust your judgment" he said,

Twilight nodded before turning her attention back to Miko "It's like this Miko, Spike and I are from a world called Equestria where I am a pony alicorn princess and Spike is my loyal dragon assistant."

Miko blinked before he said "Ooookay. Why not Start at the beginning so I can get a general idea."

So for the next ten minutes Twilight went on to explain what her world was like. How it was a world populated mostly by intelligent technicolor ponies as well as many other intelligent creatures, She explained how she was looking for her crown but it wasn't just a normal crown, It was one of a set of six magical artifacts called the Elements of Harmony and how she and her friends wielded them against the forces of evil. She finished on how her crown was stolen and brought to this world

"And that's just about it as far as explaining goes." Miko stood there trying to take in everything she just explained to him, even though he already knew about everything from watching the show back in his previous life.

"I see. So, you said were looking for your crown right?" He asked her to which she nodded

"Yes, you wouldn't happen to have seen it right? It's about this big with a purple star jewel on top." Twilight asked before she described what her crown looked like.

Unfortunately he shook his head "I'm sorry Twilight, I haven't seen anything of the sorts."

Twilight and Spike both looked saddened at that "Ah nuts. Here I was hoping it would be easy." Spike said

Miko thought for a bit "hmm... maybe the crook who stole your crown went into the school" he said as he looked at the front door of said school

"That's a school?" Twilight asked him slightly surprised as she thought it was a castle. To which he nodded "uh-huh, maybe they hid it somewhere in there, can you tell me the crook's name?" Miko asked her.

"It's Sunset Shimmer," Twilight replied

Miko couldn't help himself from gaining a deadpan expression before he groaned "Sunset Shimmer, of course it is..." He said in exasperation as he slowly rubbed his hand down his face.

Twilight looked at him in surprise "do you know her?" she asked with a raised eyebrow

Miko snorted "heh...know her? She is only the biggest bully here at Canterlot High, Pretty much everyone is afraid of standing up to her."Miko blinked "wait a minute, how do you know about Sunset in the first place?" He asked.

Twilight answered "it's because she is from my world"

Miko looked at her in feigned surprise "she's from your world? If that's case why is she here in this world?" He asked

Twilight explained "it's because back in my world, she used to be my mentor Princess Celestia's student, she became so obsessed with power that she grew very ambitious, selfish, and cruel, she went against Princess Celestia's orders and came here."

"Wait, did you say Celestia? Because that's the name of the school principal" Miko said Making twilight's eyes widen

"There's a Celestia in this World!? And she is your Principal?" Twilight Asked In Surprise

Miko Nodded "Yeah there is, and by the looks of it my world and your's have some similarities, so I think it's safe to say you'll likely come across some familiar faces" he said.

Miko scratched the back of his neck and sighed "and since you're here to get your crown back from Sunset Shimmer, my gut is telling me that i should give you a hand" Miko said 'even though I shouldn't' he reluctantly thought.

Twilight looked at him in surprise "you want to help us?" She asked as if sensing his reluctance.

Miko smiled nodding "yeah I do, I mean if that's your only way back home, then I can't just stand by and do nothing." He said with a shrug.

Twilight's eyes brightened with hope "Really? Thank you so much, Miko!" she exclaimed with genuine gratitude.

Spike's tail wagged in excitement as Miko's decision to help them sank in. "We really appreciate it, Miko," Spike said, his green eyes gleaming with gratitude.

Then she remember something "although we don't have lot of time" she said with a small frown

Miko raised an eyebrow before remembered that Twilight and Spike were on borrowed Time "I take it the portal has a time limit?"

Twilight and Spike were Surprised at his question "h-how did you-" before she could finish, Miko shrugged. "Call it a hunch, now how long does the portal last?" he asked looking at the statue.

"The portal closes in three days, we will have to act fast in order to get back my crown, and for Spike and I to return home in time." Twilight Explained.

Miko nodded "noted now follow me," he took a few steps forward to the school entrance, before he couldn't hear her or Spike following him, so he looked back and saw her standing in the same spot looking anxious.

"Is something wrong Twilight?" He asked with a raised eyebrow

Twilight fidgeted in the same spot "Well... umm... I kind of...umm" she trailed off nervously

Miko then remembered her predicament, before he mentally facepalms 'oh right she doesn't know how to walk on two legs, how in the hell did I forget that,' he thought before he made a small smile.

"Oh yeah, since you were originally a pony back in Equestria, you never experienced walk on two legs right?" He asked.

Twilight blushed at her current predicament, which made him chuckle before he walked over to her.

"It's not that hard Twilight, it's easy as... well... taking your first step and put one foot in front of the other." Miko guided her

Twilight took a deep breath and started moving her legs forward in a rather awkward fashion. This leads to her Wobbling about as she tried to walk on her own.

Miko looked at her mild concern and amusement "uhh...do you need help there?"

Twilight smiled anxiously "umm... Y-yes please." Miko chuckled before walked over and gave her a hand as he led her to the main doors.

She started to get the hang of it, once she got to the stairs, which at first was a problem, but after a few seconds they managed to make it to the entrance.

Miko opened the doors for her as she went in, as they walked inside she looked around the main hallway she couldn't help but ask "Umm... Miko what exactly am I?" Gesturing to her current form

Miko looked at her as they stopped walking for a moment "you're what's called a human"

Twilight looked at him in curiosity "a human?"

Miko nodded "Yeah, it's basically a species of ape that evolve over millions of years ago, At least that's what most scientists say."

"Really? I think I may have read something similar to that in a book about mythological creatures that no longer exist" Twilight said in a thinking pose.

Now this really took Miko by surprise as he knew nothing about that in the show "Humans existed in your world once? that's kinda interesting to be honest, but for now let's start searching." Twilight nodded and they walked further into the school.

Meanwhile in the deep inside of Miko's mind the Giant of Light saw everything as he watched the meeting between Miko and Twilight in stoic observation

"So...it has begun, good luck... Miko" his eyes glowed as he continued his observation.

And so the search for the crown begins but little did Miko knew that the gears of his destiny slowly started to turn….
