The night over Castle Grayskull was clear and cold, stars illuminating the ancient fortress. Inside, the Sorceress of Grayskull stood in the heart of the castle, her gaze steady as she watched the rippling surface of the Well of Wisdom. The castle was alive with a quiet, mystical hum, energy pooling around her. She felt the air thicken, stirring with ancient powers that reached back through the eons.

She placed a hand over the Well and closed her eyes. A single word escaped her lips: "Adora."

Images appeared within the shimmering waters—a young woman with bright, determined eyes, fierce yet compassionate. "The time has come," the Sorceress murmured, her voice reverberating through the chamber. She lifted her hand, and light gathered at her fingertips, glowing brighter and forming symbols—a map, coordinates, fragments of forgotten memory.

With an almost motherly warmth, she whispered into the magic. "The stars remember, and so shall you. Find your way home, daughter of Eternia." She released the message, sending it across the cosmic void, beyond realms and planets, guided by destiny itself.

Adora jolted awake, heart racing. The vision lingered—stars, a distant castle, and the echo of a woman's voice calling her name. She pressed her hand to her chest, still feeling the remnants of the Sorceress's words. The woman's voice had been gentle yet commanding, resonating with a certainty that left no room for doubt.

"Daughter of Eternia." It was true that she had long wondered about her family, about who she really was. Yet, despite her burning curiosity, she felt a shiver of apprehension. Were these memories merely echoes of her wishful thinking; or were they, perhaps, a precious link to her roots? She glanced toward her girlfriend, Catra, fast asleep beside her.

Worry creased her brow; what would Catra think about all this? Would she be understanding, or would it create another rift between them? Adora sighed, making a firm decision. She couldn't let fear dictate her actions. She would follow the vision and find the truth. After all, wasn't that what she had always wanted—the truth and the chance to fill in the blank spaces of her past? There was no turning back now.

Glimmer, Bow and Catra all entered the bridge together, all looking groggy and half-awake until they saw Adora standing ahead of them with an unusually grim expression.

"Adora? You okay?" Glimmer asked, eyebrows creased with concern.

Adora nodded but didn't speak right away. But as she stared, she felt something new—a sense of direction, as if her whole life had been leading her toward this moment.

"Glimmer, Bow, Catra… I need you to see something," she said, voice low but certain. She turned back to her friends, her eyes intense.

The Best Friends Squad gathered around, with Catra leaning against the doorway, arms crossed. "So, what is it?" Catra asked, her tone cautious but curious.

Adora took a deep breath. "I had a vision. Someone was speaking to me… a woman. She gave me coordinates, told me about... about Eternia."

Bow's eyes widened. "Eternia? The name you sometimes use as a password to access technologies left behind on Etheria by the First Ones?" Bow asked.

Adora nodded. "Yes, exactly," she said, nodding.

"What's so special about Eternia?" Catra asked, her usual snarky façade now replaced with genuine curiosity.

"The First Ones are from Eternia; that's why the name has a connection to their technology," Adora explained, her eyes focusing on the stars beyond the bridge display as if they could somehow reveal the truth. "Over a thousand years ago, the First Ones, my people, colonized Etheria and turned the whole planet into a powerful weapon; the Heart of Etheria. They connected its magic to the Sword of Protection, so She-Ra could channel it and activate the weapon. Mara, who was She-Ra back then, was meant to lead the project, but she didn't realize how dangerous it was until the last minute. To protect Etheria, she pulled the whole planet into a hidden dimension, Despondos. Years later, Light Hope, opened a portal to bring me to Etheria so I could be trained as the next She-Ra. She allowed Hordak to find me as a baby, and I was raised by the Horde until I was ready to take up the role of She-Ra and activate the weapon—without knowing any of this."

Rage bubbled up within Adora, remembering how the First Ones had used her, and every She-Ra before her.

"Eternia," Catra repeated softly, her disdain barely overriding her curiosity. "Why do you think we got a message now, after all this time?"

Adora hesitated, unsure of what the message could mean, despite her newfound purpose. "I don't know," she admitted. "But whoever sent it knows who I am. It feels personal. It feels like an invitation... I think she wants me to go there. I think the coordinates she gave me lead to Eternia..."

Glimmer met Adora's eyes, holding both worry and excitement as she cast a glance towards Bow and Catra. The emotions between the four friends were palpable across the bridge of Mara's quirky spacecraft.

"You really think the First Ones are still there?" Glimmer wondered.

"I don't know, but... back on Beast Island, there was a signal being broadcasted from there, a message playing in reverse. When played the right way it said, 'Planetwide evacuation required. All units return to Eternia.'." Adora revealed. "Then there's what Horde Prime said about the First Ones, he said he thought the First Ones were all gone, but apparently some faction remained."

Glimmer blinked, putting pieces together. "And... you think that faction is on Eternia?"

Adora nodded, struggling to keep her voice steady. "That's what I think. I—I've never known where I come from, who my family is. Etheria is my home, and you're all my family, but…" She trailed off, eyes distant. "I can't shake the feeling that finding this place, finding Eternia, is the key to understanding who I am."

Catra's eyes narrowed as she scrutinized Adora. "We don't know what kind of message that was, Adora. For all we know, it's a trap set up by the First Ones. Remember, their history isn't exactly glowing." Her voice was sharp, but there was an underlying concern as she looked at Adora. "Why risk it? You know they've manipulated Etheria. Why should Eternia be any different?"

Adora hesitated, glancing back out at the stars. "Catra, I get it. I know how dangerous the First Ones are. But… I've spent my whole life with no idea where I came from. If I ignore this, I'll wonder about it for the rest of my life."

Glimmer stepped closer to Adora, worried but hopeful. "But Adora, we have our mission to restore magic to the universe, and the last thing we need is distractions.

"I know, Glimmer. But this isn't about distracting us from our mission; it's about finding out who I am." Adora expressed.

Bow put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Hey, if this is important to you, then we'll figure it out together."

Adora's face softened. "Thanks, Bow. I know it's a risk, but… I have to believe that things might be different. Maybe the First Ones have changed, or maybe there's something beyond them I need to understand."

Catra's gaze softened, the defensive edge in her voice fading. "And if you're wrong?"

Adora's voice turned firm, her resolve clear. "Then we leave. If my family, if Eternia turns out to be evil or something worse… we'll leave without looking back." She gave Catra a small smile. "Together."

Catra let out a sigh, shaking her head with a wry smile. "Alright. But I'm going on record saying I still think it's a terrible idea."

Adora laughed softly, nodding in acknowledgment. "Noted."

They all turned to Glimmer expectantly and, thanks to all the peer pressure...

The queen let out a deep sigh. "Alright, let's give this a try," Glimmer finally said, "If Adora's feeling called to this, then we can investigate. But we have to be careful. We don't know what we might find there."

Bow nodded, the concern etched into his features. "We can also use our mission as a cover."

"Yeah! No one will suspect that we're seeking out Eternia simply because Adora needs answers about her past," observed Glimmer.

"But remember," Bow cautioned, "our priority remains saving the universe and restoring magic. We can't deviate too far from that path."

"Agreed," Catra simply nodded, her arms still crossed over her chest. The lingering distrust of the First Ones was palpable in her stance.

Catra kept scanning the space ahead, her eyes shimmering with anxiety, despite the bright smiles in the room. Even Glimmer looked slightly uneasy as she pondered the implications of their decision. However, overall, there seemed to be an underlying current of hope and determination amongst the group.

"Alright," Bow said, his voice quiet but deliberate as he looked around the room. "Let's set a course."

With a new sense of purpose, Bow entered the coordinates into the navigation console, and the ship's engines hummed as they adjusted course. Glimmer placed a reassuring hand on Adora's shoulder, her expression warm.

"Are you nervous?" Glimmer asked softly.

"Terrified," Adora admitted with a laugh, brushing a hand over her face. "But I've never been so sure about anything. It's strange… I feel like I've been looking for this all along without even realizing it."

Catra rolled her eyes but couldn't hide a hint of a smile. "Well, whatever we find, I'll be there to drag you out if things get ugly."

The ship surged forward, stars streaking past as they hurtled toward Eternia, and Adora gazed at the vast universe ahead, a quiet hope blossoming in her chest as she held Catra's hand.

In the depths of space, she felt the call of something ancient, something powerful—a family she had never known but now longed to find.
