Chapter 8
Get ready for it's time to see how things are going on the other side before the final Kanto Elite Four Battle.
"So Ash, how's Hoenn going? I hear you managed to defeat Norman on your first attempt?" Issei asked while calling from the league since he was enjoying the break to create a special battlefield for Issei's next opponent.
The strongest of the Johto Elite Four: The Dark Specialist, but Lance also told Issei that a special announcement would be made before the battle so Issei could take some time to call family and check up on them.
[Oh man, it's great! I got the fourth Gym Leaders badge and even used Mega Evolution to fight Normans Skaking!]
"Hey, not bad. Norman is the second strongest gym leader in the Hoenn region. Not bad, but don't get cocky since, from what you told me, Slaking almost defeated Charizard if not for Mega Evolution." Issei said, which made Ash chuckle and nod in understanding before Issei continued.
"So you got a plan for Roxanne? I heard she's the seventh strongest since she used two Pokémon, Geodude and Nosepass." Issei asked before Ash nodded and replied.
[Oh yeah! I read that her Nosepass knows an electric move to help counter Water types, so I was thinking of using both Larion and Wartotle or Turtwig to give him some experience.]
"Not bad since Larion is a Steel type and is a very strong Pokémon to use against Nosepass. For Geodude, I'm thinking that Wartotle or Turtwig would be a good choice for them."
[I was actually thinking the same thing. Oh, by the way, I wanted to let you know about the upcoming Battle Festival in Slateport City! It's going to be huge this year, with trainers coming from all over the region to participate in the contests and battles. It might be a good chance for you to take a break and join us there.]
"That sounds like a great idea, Ash. I'll see if I can wrap things up here to make it there. Maybe we can have a friendly battle while we're there," Issei suggested a hint of excitement in his voice.
"And maybe you can tell me about your girlfriend Sabrina?" Issei asked with a
[Absolutely! That would be awesome! Anyway, I have to go. I have some training to do before my next gym battle. Good luck with your match against the Johto Elite Four!]
"Thanks, Ash. Good luck to you, too. Talk to you soon," Issei said, ending the call.
As Issei put his phone away, he took a deep breath and turned his attention back to the task at hand. The battlefield for his next opponent, Karen of the Johto Elite Four, needed to be perfect. Known for her mastery of Dark-type Pokémon, Karen was a formidable opponent who demanded respect and careful preparation.
Issei walked to the center of the battlefield, assessing the terrain and making mental notes of adjustments he needed to make. The battlefield had to be not only challenging but also fair, providing opportunities for both trainers to showcase their strategies and skills.
He was about to begin making the necessary adjustments when he was interrupted by a loud voice booming through the stadium's PA system. "Attention all trainers! We have a special announcement from the Kanto and Johto Champion, Lance!"
Issei looked up, curious about the announcement. Lance's announcements were always significant, often indicating important events or changes in the league.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Lance's voice echoed through the stadium, filled with both pride and a hint of nostalgia. "Today, I stand before you with a significant announcement. After many years of serving as both the Kanto and Johto Champion, I have decided that it is time for me to step down from the Johto League and pass the mantle to a worthy successor."
Gasps and murmurs of surprise spread through the crowd. Issei felt a surge of anticipation. Lance retiring? This was huge news.
"It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as Johto's Champion," Lance continued. "I have faced many incredible trainers and have seen the league grow and evolve in extraordinary ways. But now, it is time for a new era to begin."
Lance paused, allowing the weight of his words to sink in. "I am pleased to announce that the new Champion of the Johto League will be none other than Karen, our esteemed Dark-type specialist from the Elite Four."
The stadium erupted in applause and cheers. Karen stepped forward, a confident and determined look on her face. She took the microphone from Lance, her eyes shining with excitement and gratitude.
"Thank you, Lance," Karen said, her voice steady and strong. "I am honored to accept this responsibility and will do my best to uphold the standards and traditions of the Johto League. I look forward to continuing to challenge and inspire trainers, just as you have done."
Lance smiled warmly, placing a hand on Karen's shoulder. "I do not doubt that you will be an exceptional Champion. The Johto League is in good hands."
As the applause continued, Issei couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. This new development added a fresh layer of intrigue to the league. He knew that Karen would bring her unique style and strength to the role of Champion, making the upcoming battles even more challenging and exhilarating.
With the announcement concluded, Issei turned back to the battlefield, his determination renewed. He had a lot of work to do, and he was more motivated than ever to prove himself in this new era of the Johto League.
As the applause for the announcement began to die down, Karen made her way to the center of the stadium. The excitement in the air was palpable as she took the microphone once more, her eyes scanning the crowd before settling on Issei.
"Issei," Karen called out, her voice carrying the weight of her newfound position. "In honor of this new chapter for the Johto League, I would like to challenge you to a special six-on-six battle. This will be a true test of our skills and determination."
The crowd murmured in anticipation, the stakes of the battle having been raised even higher. Issei felt a thrill of excitement coursing through him. A full six-on-six battle with the new Champion was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.
"I accept your challenge, Karen," Issei replied, stepping forward with a confident grin. "Let's give everyone a battle they'll never forget."
The stadium buzzed with energy as both trainers took their positions on the battlefield. Karen's team of Dark-type Pokémon stood ready, their eyes gleaming with anticipation. Issei, meanwhile, summoned his Dragon Warriors team, each of his powerful Dragon-type Pokémon roaring in readiness.
"Let's start things off strong," Karen announced, throwing her first Poké Ball. "Go, Umbreon!"
A flash of light revealed the sleek, black form of Umbreon, its rings glowing faintly in the light of the stadium.
Issei responded with a swift throw of his own Poké Ball. "Let's go, Salamence!"
The majestic Dragon Pokémon roared as it materialized on the battlefield, its wings flaring out impressively.
"Umbreon, use Dark Pulse!" Karen commanded.
Umbreon focused, releasing a wave of dark energy toward Salamence.
"Salamence, dodge it, and use Dragon Claw!" Issei countered.
Salamence soared into the air, narrowly avoiding the Dark Pulse, then swooped down with glowing claws aimed at Umbreon. The attack struck true, sending Umbreon skidding back.
"Umbreon, shake it off and use Moonblast!" Karen called.
Umbreon glowed softly as it healed itself, regaining some of its strength before firing the Fairy move.
"Dodge and fire back with Dragon Breath!" Issei ordered.
Salamence narrowly avoided the Moonblast before unleashing a powerful stream of draconic energy, hitting Umbreon head-on. Umbreon staggered but remained standing.
"Umbreon, counter with Double Foul Play!" Karen shouted.
Umbreon nodded as she used Double Team to split into multiple copies before all of them charged at Salamence with surprising speed, using Salamence's strength against it.
Salamence roared in pain as multiple attacks hit him but quickly recovered when Issei gave the next order.
"Fly high and end this battle with Draco Meteor!" Issei commanded.
Salamence soared high into the sky, summoning meteors of dragon energy that rained down upon the battlefield.
"Umbreon! Run!" Karen shouted as the meteors rained down while Umbreon tried to escape the attack, but a few of the meteors struck true, and thanks to the explosive impact, the attack left Umbreon unable to continue.
"Umbreon is unable to battle! The first round goes to Issei!" the referee announced before Karen recalled Umbreon with a determined look. "You've done well, Issei. But this battle is far from over. Go, Houndoom!"
The fiery Dark-type Pokémon appeared, snarling and ready for battle.
Issei smiled. "This is going to be fun. Let's keep going, Salamence!"
Salamance roared in agreement as the crowd buzzed with excitement as Issei and Karen prepared for their intense battle.
Issei's Salamence growled while Karen's Houndoom responded with a growl of his own.
The referee saw that they were ready before beginning the second battle.
"Battle Begin!" The referee shouted before ducking behind the safety zone as Karen quickly made her first move.
"Houndoom, use Flamethrower!" Karen commanded as Houndoom took a deep breath and unleashed a stream of intense fire toward Salamence.
"Salamence, dodge it, and use Earthquake!" Issei ordered before Salamence evaded the Flamethrower with a quick, graceful maneuver, then quickly soared back down and slammed its powerful legs into the ground.
The battlefield shook as the Earthquake rippled toward Houndoom, sending it flying back, but Karen wasn't done yet.
"Houndoom, get up and use Crunch!" Karen called.
Houndoom struggled to its feet, shaking off the impact before darting toward Salamence with its jaws wide open, ready to bite down.
"Salamence, use Dragon Claw to stop Houndoom!" Issei countered as Houndoom lunged forward at the dragon.
Salamence's claws glowed with fierce energy. The two Pokémon collided mid-air, Dragon Claw meeting Crunch in a powerful clash until an explosion occurred, sending both Pokémon skidding back from the impact.
"Houndoom, use Dark Pulse! Hurry!" Karen commanded as Houndoom quickly recovered and unleashed a wave of dark energy toward Salamence.
"Salamence, counter with Dragon Breath!" Issei ordered as Salamence responded with a powerful blast of dragon energy. The two attacks collided, creating an explosion that sent shockwaves across the battlefield.
Until another Dark Pulse fired through the field and struck Salamance, shocking Issei before Houndoom released Overheat, which burned Salamance fiercely until Salamance fell back as the smoke cleared. Salamence struggled to stand, clearly worn out from the intense battle.
"Salamence, hang in there!" Issei encouraged, but it was too late.
"Houndoom, finish it with Flamethrower!" Karen commanded, hoping to take out one of Issei's Pokémon at least.
Houndoom barked before unleashing another stream of fire, and Salamence, too exhausted to dodge due to the Overheat, was hit directly. Salamence roared in pain before collapsing.
"Salamance!" Issei called out before seeing his dragon was defeated.
"Salamence is unable to battle! Houndoom wins this round!" the referee announced before Issei recalled Salamence, a determined look in his eyes.
"You've done well, Salamence. Take a good rest," Issei said before reaching for a crimson Pokeball and tossing it in the air.
"Now it's time. Come forth, my pupil, Ryuuken!" Issei said as Lucario appeared, ready for battle, before turning to Issei and bowing to him, to which Issei replied with a bow, too.
"A Lucario? Interesting choice. I guess you chose him for my team?" Karen asked before Issei replied.
"Technically, yes, Fighting types are good against Dark Types, but there's more to my pupil than type advantage. Isn't that right, Ryuuken?" Issei asked before Lucario bowed to him and replied.
'Of course, Sensei.' Ryuuken said that since Issei's Lucario was from the Sinnoh region, Ryuuken was just a Riolu, and that followed Issei after witnessing his power with and without the Boosted Gear.
Riolu then tried to mimic Issei's Aura Sphere, seeing it as a stronger version of the normal Lucario's Aura Sphere, which is why when Riolu challenged Issei to a battle, Issei only used his strength and not Ddraig's strength, which the dragon respected.
Riolu was beaten many times but was determined to defeat Issei one day, until one day, Issei defeated Riolu for a hundredth time but asked Riolu if he wished to be his student to learn how to become the strongest Lucario that even surpassed Aaron's own Lucario.
The idea of being stronger than the legendary Sir Aaron's own Lucario captivated the young Riolu, which led to intense training under Issei's teachings, but that helped the young jackal become Lucario and learn how to counter his weaknesses to fire and how to make his Aura stronger thanks to his rival Medicham, who often fought with Lucario for their Sensei's attention much to Issei's amusement.
The referee then began the third battle, and Issei made the first move.
"Ryuuken, use Aura Sphere!" Issei ordered as Lucario formed a glowing sphere of energy between its paws and launched it at Houndoom. The attack struck Houndoom with precision, sending it staggering back.
"Houndoom, use Flamethrower!" Karen countered before Houndoom unleashed another stream of fire, but Lucario stood firm, enduring the flames with remarkable resilience as if the flames didn't even harm him.
'These flames...' Lucario said as he walked through the flames, which shocked Karen before Houndoom turned up the heat, but the flames barely harmed Lucario since the flames from his Sensei were much stronger and hotter than the flames of the dog in front of him.
Lucario then got closer and closer to Houndoom until his eyes opened with resolve. 'Are nowhere near as hot as my Sensei's!'
"Ryuuken, finish him with Close Combat!" Issei commanded before Lucario nodded as he dashed forward with incredible speed, delivering a series of rapid, powerful strikes to Houndoom.
Houndoom was too caught off guard by the jackal to withstand the onslaught and collapsed after Lucario finished his attack.
"Houndoom is unable to battle! Lucario wins this round!" the referee announced.
Karen recalled Houndoom, a determined look on her face. "You've done well, Issei, as well as your Lucario, but let's see how you handle this! Go, Honchkrow!"
A flash of light revealed the large, imposing form of Honchkrow, its feathers shimmering in the stadium lights.
"Heh. No problem." Issei said before looking at Ryuuken, who nodded and wished to continue fighting.
"Alright then. Ryuuken, use Thunder Punch!" Issei ordered before Lucario's fist crackled with electricity as he charged toward Honchkrow, who was caught off guard by the speed of the jackal before he could take off.
Lucario then delivered a powerful punch that sent Honchkrow reeling back before Karen and her partner got their bearings.
"Not this time. Honchkrow, use Night Slash!" Karen commanded.
Honchkrow quickly recovered and dashed forward, its claws glowing with dark energy, but this didn't even phase Lucario since the jackal could see the Honchkrow going extremely slow to its eyes.
"Ryuukwn, counter with Bone Rush." Issei countered, saying that Lucario summoned a glowing bone staff in his hands and blocked Honchkrow's attack before striking back with rapid, precise hits that Aura also enhanced.
The attack sent Honchkrow crashing to the ground, unable to continue, much to the arena's shock.
"Honchkrow may be fast against some Flying types, but against my student who's traveled with me since Sinnoh and fought through more skilled and faster flyers. Ryuuken won't be brought down so easily," Issei stated before the referee concluded the battle.
"Honchkrow is unable to battle! Lucario wins this round!" the referee announced before Karen recalled Honchkrow, her eyes blazing with determination.
"You've done well, Issei. But let's see how you handle this! Go, Murkrow!"
A flash of light revealed the small, dark bird Pokémon, its eyes gleaming with mischief, but Lucario and Issei didn't seem fazed by the smaller bird since it surprised him that Karen didn't have another Dark Type on the team.
"Just end this quickly, Ryuuken. Use Aura Sphere!" Issei ordered, with Lucario nodding as it formed a glowing sphere of energy between its paws and launched it at Murkrow. The attack struck true, even while Murkrow was flying, sending Murkrow flying back to the ground.
"Murkrow, fly high and use Drill Peck!" Karen called out before Murkrow steadied itself and shot forward with its beak spinning like a drill.
"Ryuuken, counter with SmackDown." Issei countered as Lucario's fist glowed with yellow-like energy as it met Murkrow's Drill Peck, the two attacks clashing in a burst of energy before Murkrow was sent into the ground from the impact, being buried in the arena, unable to continue.
"Murkrow is unable to battle! Lucario wins this round!" the referee announced before Karen recalled Murkrow, a smile on her face even though she's lost four Pokémon and Issei only one.
"You've done well, Issei. I'm impressed since you are definitely as strong as the rumors say, but let's see how you handle my next Pokémon. Go, Vileplume!"
A flash of light revealed the colorful form of Vileplume, its large petals releasing a sweet scent into the air.
Issei recalled Lucario, who didn't seem to mind as Ryuuken walked towards his Sensei and sat on the ground before meditating. The referee allowed this as Issei threw another Poké Ball. "Let's go, Dracidon!"
The evolved form of Druddigon, now a powerful Dragon and Rock-type Pokémon, materialized on the battlefield, its rocky scales glistening.
"Meet Dracidon. He's a special evolution that only occurs in caves when Druddigon is on Iron Island." Issei said before Karen asked.
"But wouldn't that make Dracidon a Steel and Dragon-type instead?"
"No. For you to see, this evolution was lost to time due to the same location as Iron Island in the past, which was not a place filled with extremely large amounts of minerals. In the past Sinnoh, large amounts of minerals were actually found there, and it was rich in Rock, Steel, and Ground types. Still, Dracidon and other Pokémon were able to use those minerals to help its body become stronger, and the minerals made his scales and body even stronger." Issei said before chuckling at his explanation.
"But let's skip the history lesson for now and get back to the battle." Issei said before doing a 'come on' motion, which made Karen smile.
"Vileplume, use Solar Beam!" Karen commanded.
Vileplume began absorbing sunlight, preparing to unleash a powerful beam of energy.
"Dracidon, use Mineral Shield!" Issei ordered Dracidon to create a shield of minerals around itself, raising its Defense and Special Defense before Issei ordered him to use Stone Edge to surround himself, causing Karen to wonder what Issei was up to again.
"Vileplume! Call off the Solarbeam and switch to Petal Blizzard!" Karen called out as Vileplume summoned a storm of razor-sharp petals that swirled toward Dracidon.
"Dracidon, use Stone Roar!" Issei countered as Dracidon released a deafening roar that sent rocks flying at the target. Combined with the summoned Stone Edge, more collided with the Petal Blizzard, neutralizing the attack before the rocks continued toward Vileplume, striking it with powerful force.
"Vileplume, use Sleep Powder!" Karen commanded before Vileplume released a cloud of sleep-inducing powder toward Dracidon.
"Dracidon, blow it away with Dragon Breath!" Issei ordered before Dracidon unleashed a powerful stream of dragon energy, dispersing the Sleep Powder and hitting Vileplume directly.
"Now, Dracidon, finish it with Dragon Claw!" Issei shouted.
Dracidon's claws glowed with fierce energy as they charged toward Vileplume, delivering a powerful strike that sent Vileplume crashing to the ground, unable to continue.
"Vileplume is unable to battle! Dracidon wins this round! The winner is Issei!" the referee announced.
Karen recalled Vileplume, a smile on her face. "Well done, Issei. You've proven yourself to be a truly formidable trainer.
I look forward to seeing how you'll fare as we continue our next battle."
Issei smiled, recalling Dracidon. "Thank you, Karen. This was an incredible battle. Let's see what else you got up your sleeve."
The crowd erupted in applause and cheers, celebrating the intense and thrilling battles they had just witnessed. The crowd's excitement was palpable as the battle between Issei and Karen continued. With Karen down to her final Pokémon, the stakes had never been higher.
Karen smiled, determination shining in her eyes. "You've battled well, Issei, but this isn't over yet. Go, Tyranitar!"
A flash of light revealed the massive form of Tyranitar, its rocky armor glinting under the stadium lights.
Issei's eyes narrowed with focus as he prepared to bring out his final Pokémon before returning Dracidon. "Alright, Tyranitar. This is going to be a tough one. Go, Dragonair!"
Dragonair emerged from the Poké Ball, its small wings flaring out as it roared, ready for battle, curling around Issei, which made him laugh a bit at the affectionate dragon before telling her that it was time to battle.
"Tyranitar, start with Rock Slide!" Karen commanded before Tyranitar roared, summoning a cascade of boulders that fell from the sky toward Dragonair.
"Dragonair, dodge and use Dragon Dance!" Issei ordered as Dragonair skillfully evaded the falling rocks and began to perform a graceful dance, its body glowing with increased power and speed.
"Now, use Aqua Tail!" Issei commanded as Dragonair's tail glowed with water energy as it charged toward Tyranitar, striking it with a powerful tail whip. Tyranitar roared in pain, staggering back.
"Tyranitar, use Thunder Fang!" Karen countered.
Tyranitar's fangs crackled with electricity as it lunged at Dragonair, sinking its teeth into Dragonair's side. Dragonair winced but quickly shook Tyranitar off before slapping him with another Aqua Tail.
"Dragonair, use Hurricane!" Issei called out as Dragonair flew into the air and began to summon a powerful gust of wind that swirled into a violent storm, battering Tyranitar with relentless force.
"Tyranitar, hang in there and use Stone Edge!" Karen shouted.
Tyranitar, despite the raging storm, summoned sharp stones from the ground and hurled them at Dragonair. The stones struck Dragonair, causing her to cry out in pain.
"Dragonair, don't not give up! Use Dragon Rush!" Issei commanded.
Dragonair's body glowed with fierce dragon energy as she charged at Tyranitar, delivering a powerful attack that sent Tyranitar skidding back.
"Tyranitar, finish it with Hyper Beam!" Karen ordered.
Tyranitar began to gather energy in its mouth, preparing to unleash a devastating beam.
"Dragonite, dodge and use Draconic Impact!" Issei countered just as Tyranitar fired the Hyper Beam!
Dragonair soared high into the air, narrowly evading the attack. She then summoned the energy of Giga Impact, but this one seemed to be made of dragon energy before she flew from the sky and slammed into Tyranitar, the impact of which caused massive explosions.
The battlefield shook as the attack struck Tyranitar, and when the dust finally settled, Tyranitar was down, unable to continue.
"Tyranitar is unable to battle! The winner is Issei!" the referee announced.
The stadium erupted into cheers and applause as Issei and Karen recalled their Pokémon. Both trainers met in the center of the battlefield, shaking hands and exchanging smiles.
"That was an incredible battle, Issei," Karen said, her eyes filled with respect. "You've truly earned this victory."
"Thank you, Karen," Issei replied, equally respectful. "You were an amazing opponent. I've learned a lot from this battle."
As the crowd continued to cheer, Issei knew that this was only the beginning. With Karen now the Johto Champion, the league had entered a new era, and Issei was more determined than ever to continue pushing his limits and growing as a trainer.
Steven was clapping as he walked towards Issei to congratulate him.
"I must say that it was truly impressive, and you exceeded my expectations since I never knew you would be able to use such skilled Pokémon. The rumors don't do you Justice, which is why I wish to propose a counter to the original proposal." Steven said, which confused Issei before holding out a hand to Issei.
"I wish to challenge you tomorrow, a full six battle with my strongest Pokémon versus any six you choose. After witnessing your battle with Karen, I couldn't just wait for you to battle my Elite Four, and they think you are ready to face me as well, so will you honor my request?" Steven asked Issei in awe of the opportunity before him until he looked at Kora, who seemed excited about the opportunity before nodding his way. This gave Issei the encouragement he needed as he shook Steven's hand.
"You got a deal, Champion Steven. I look forward to our battle." Issei said as the Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and Champions were excited about another champion battle, much to the amusement of a certain Sinnoh Champion who was smiling down at Issei's expression.
"Soon. Soon, you'll become a champion, and we'll be able to celebrate it with you." Cynthia said while rubbing her thighs together and blushing while touching the area on her bust that Issei marked her with his teeth along with Ursula, who was definitely part dragon somewhere, before imagining Ursula and Issei marking her once again with their claws and fangs.
While the others were excited, no one seemed to notice how a certain grass-loving Gym Leader was looking at a text that came from her colleagues who were investigating the strange Pokémon that they're starting to call Paradox Pokémon from Paldea, along with information on the Professors responsible for said region.
"I need to inform Lord Issei at once." The gym leader said while also smiling at his gaze meeting her own, which sent shivers down her spine, wishing that she could receive more than a mere gaze but controlled herself since she knew there was a time and place for business and pleasure, but now it was strictly business.
Unfortunately, Hoenn was about to receive a dangerous welcome from Paldea as a portal opened to reveal a large Pokemon resembling a mechanical Donphan. It possesses four limbs and a gun-metal grey body. Its tusks are deep grey, almost black tusks. It has a long trunk like an elephant that goes up its back, over its head, and to its tail. The trunk glows red and black. It possesses dark red eyes that are nearly hidden by its nose.
Iron Treads scanned the area meticulously, its dark red eyes glowing with an eerie intensity. As it moved, its mechanical joints emitted a low, grinding hum, adding to its intimidating presence. The Future Pokémon's advanced sensors locked onto its target's signal: The Iron Serpent Miraidon.
[TARGET: IRON SERPENT MIRAI-DON. SCANNING... LOCATE AND CAPTURE.]
Its voice, a cold and robotic monotone, echoed through the area. The ground beneath it resonated with the sheer power of its feet. Iron Treads continued its methodical search, using its trunk to analyze and track the faint energy signatures left behind by Miraidon until it found a particular substance that was combined with electricity.
[TARGET LOCATED. INITIATING PURSUIT.]
Iron Treads then began to move with surprising agility for its size; the red and black glow of its trunk pulsed rhythmically, scanning every inch of the terrain. Iron Treads' sensors detected a spike in energy near a cluster of rocky hills not far from its current position.
Rustboro City, or more specifically, the gym.
[TARGET LOCATED. PREPARING FOR ENGAGEMENT.]
Iron Treads then began to charge forward, its immense bulk shaking the ground. The local Pokémon fled in panic, sensing the impending confrontation. Iron Treads' glowing trunk extended forward, ready to unleash its devastating power upon Miraidon.
Meanwhile, Miraidon, who wasn't a part of the group that witnessed Ash's battle, was surprised when her scanners picked up a familiar being approaching the city.
Miraidon then hacked into the security cameras until her electric blue eyes widened in surprise as she spotted the hulking form of Iron Treads. The sight of the mechanical Donphan here in Hoenn was unexpected, and she knew it posed a significant threat to the city and its inhabitants.
"I can't let Iron Treads wreak havoc here," Miraidon muttered to herself. "I need to lure it away from Rustboro and keep Ash out of this fight."
With a determined expression, Miraidon leaped from her vantage point, using her agility to maneuver swiftly through the rugged terrain. She knew she had to act fast to draw Iron Treads' attention away from the city. As she moved, she couldn't help but recall the events that led her to this moment.
Unaware that someone was also seeing Iron Treads in its full glory before seeing Miraidon scurrying off into the wild.
"Dammit. What's that idiot thinking?" Domino asked herself before excusing herself from the gym until Sabrina caught Domino's hand and nodded.
"It's Mira, isn't it?"
Domino was silent about this, telling Sabrina all she needed to know.
"Find her and protect her. Please."
"Don't have to tell me twice. Mira is a good person who's away from home, and I'll be damned if she gets hurt or captured." Domino said before she left the gym, unaware of Ash's grateful gaze since he could tell that they were talking about possibly Miraidon.
"Thanks, Domino," Ash said before turning back to the battle as his Larion was fighting Roxanne's Nosepass.
Meanwhile, with Miraidon...
Miraidon was able to find a safe place to hide herself while she was running away and making sure that Iron Treads was following her. Still, while she was running, her mind pondered why Iron Treads was even in Hoenn, to begin with, until a memory appeared in her mind.
"It was back at that strange lab...," Miraidon whispered to herself, memories surfacing like fragments of a half-remembered dream. "The other Miraidon... It defeated me so easily. And those two people in the lab coats... Who were they? And why are they after me now?"
Iron Treads continued its relentless pursuit, its sensors picking up the faint traces of Miraidon's energy. It advanced methodically, scanning every nook and cranny of the landscape. Miraidon glanced back, ensuring that Iron Treads was following her.
Finally, reaching a secluded area far from the city, Miraidon hid behind a large boulder, taking a moment to check her reserves of power. She closed her eyes, focusing on the energy within her, feeling the electric currents surging through her veins.
"Okay, let's see," Miraidon murmured, assessing her situation. "Iron Treads is tough and relentless, but it has weaknesses. I need to exploit those if I'm going to stand a chance."
She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the battle ahead. The memories of the lab and the other Miraidon flashed through her mind once more.
"Those people in the strange attire... they had to be the ones who sent Iron Treads after me. But why? What do they want with me?"
As she pondered these questions, Miraidon heard the grinding hum of Iron Treads' approach. The mechanical Pokémon's dark red eyes scanned the area, its glowing trunk pulsing as it searched for its target.
[TARGET: IRON SERPENT MIRAI-DON. SCANNING... LOCATE AND CAPTURE.]
Miraidon knew she had to act quickly. She emerged from her hiding spot, ready to confront Iron Treads. The air crackled with tension as the two Future Pokémon faced off, each one prepared for the battle that would determine their fate.
"Alright, Iron Treads," Miraidon said, her voice steady and unwavering. "Let's finish this."
Iron Treads' eyes locked onto Miraidon as it initiated its attack. The mechanical Donphan unleashed a powerful Earthquake, the ground trembling violently under its immense weight.
[TARGET ENGAGED. INITIATING COMBAT PROTOCOLS.]
Miraidon leaped into action, her human form moving with grace and agility. She skated across the rocky terrain, her speed leaving a trail of electric sparks in her wake. The ground continued to rumble beneath her, but she skillfully avoided the worst of the Earthquake's impact.
"I can't afford to take any hits," Miraidon muttered, eyes narrowing in concentration. "My power reserves are still low from the last battle…"
Her mind flashed back to the lab, to the other Miraidon who had so effortlessly overpowered her. The memory of that defeat was fresh, a reminder of her vulnerability.
Iron Treads charged again, this time firing a barrage of energy beams from its glowing trunk. Miraidon dodged each blast with precision, but she could feel her stamina waning. She needed to conserve energy if she wanted to turn the tide of the battle.
"No more running," she decided, switching her focus from evasion to offense. "It's time to fight back."
With a burst of speed, Miraidon closed the distance between her and Iron Treads. She extended her arm, electricity crackling around her fingers. Summoning her remaining strength, she unleashed a powerful Thunderbolt, striking Iron Treads head-on.
The mechanical Pokémon recoiled, its systems momentarily disrupted by the electric attack. But Iron Treads quickly regained its composure, retaliating with a vicious Iron Head, its tusks glowing menacingly as it charged toward Miraidon.
Miraidon braced herself, skating to the side just in time to avoid the full brunt of the attack. She countered with a quick series of strikes, each one infused with electric energy, aiming for the joints and weaker points in Iron Treads' armor.
[TARGET: ENGAGING IN OFFENSIVE MANEUVERS. ADAPTING STRATEGY.]
Iron Treads adjusted its stance, preparing for another onslaught. Miraidon could sense the shift in its tactics, recognizing that it was analyzing her moves. She needed to stay unpredictable to outsmart the relentless machine.
"Let's see how you handle this," she said, her voice filled with determination. Gathering her energy, she launched a powerful Volt Switch, disappearing in a flash of light and reappearing behind Iron Treads.
She followed up with a charged Dragon Pulse, the energy blast hitting Iron Treads from behind. The mechanical Pokémon staggered, clearly affected by the combination of attacks. But it wasn't down yet. With a mechanical roar, it turned to face her, ready for another round.
Miraidon took a deep breath, feeling the strain on her body. She knew she couldn't keep this up for much longer. Every move, every attack had to count.
"Come on, Miraidon," she urged herself. "Just a little more…"
She skated forward, her speed a blur, and prepared to deliver a decisive blow. The battle was far from over, but she was determined to protect Hoenn and prove that she could overcome any challenge, no matter how formidable.
Miraidon continued her attempts to be unpredictable, zigzagging through the terrain and using quick, precise attacks to chip away at Iron Treads' defenses. Her agility was impressive, but Iron Treads adapted swiftly, switching to area-of-effect (AOE) attacks to counter her speed.
Iron Treads summoned a Sandstorm, the harsh winds and flying debris obscuring Miraidon's vision and sapping her energy. She shielded her eyes and tried to maintain her footing, but Iron Treads followed up with a powerful Magnitude, the ground beneath her feet buckling and cracking.
Miraidon stumbled, her energy reserves dwindling rapidly. Before she could regain her balance, Iron Treads launched into a Rollout, its massive body barreling towards her with unstoppable force. The impact sent her flying into a nearby waterfall, the rushing water cascading over her and causing her electrical system to short out.
Struggling to her feet, Miraidon felt the sting of defeat creeping in. She watched as Iron Treads approached, its dark red eyes glowing with a relentless determination.
"T-Th-This c-can't be i-it," Miraidon thought, despair washing over her. "Am I really going to lose again?"
Just as Iron Treads prepared to deliver the final blow, a scream echoed through the area. The piercing sound caused Iron Treads to short-circuit temporarily, its movements becoming jerky and erratic. Miraidon weakened and barely able to stand, collapsed against the rocky wall of the waterfall.
The source of the scream was quickly identified as a Minccino perched on the shoulder of a woman with striking features and a confident stance. Next to her stood a Loudred, its mouth open wide in preparation for its next move.
"Domino..." Miraidon whispered, recognizing the woman.
Domino, wearing noise-canceling headphones, smirked as she gave her Pokémon their orders. "Minccino, Loudred, let's finish this. Use Sonic Doom!"
Minccino and Loudred combined their BoomBurst and Echoed Voice, creating a devastating sonic attack. The sound waves rippled through the air, targeting Iron Treads with precision. The mechanical Pokémon's systems were overwhelmed, causing it to stagger and glitch.
[TARGET: UNDER ATTACK. SYSTEMS COMPROMISED. ENGAGING DEFENSIVE MODE.]
Iron Treads struggled to maintain its footing, but the combined force of Sonic Doom was too much. Its movements became sluggish, and it eventually collapsed, unable to withstand the assault.
Domino approached Miraidon, her expression softening slightly as she saw the weakened state of the once-powerful Future Pokémon. "Looks like you could use a hand."
Miraidon, still shorted out from the waterfall, could only nod weakly in response. She felt a mixture of relief and gratitude as Domino knelt beside her, offering support.
"You did well," Domino said, her voice reassuring. "But you need to recover. We'll deal with Iron Treads together."
Miraidon nodded again, her eyes closing as exhaustion took over. The battle was far from over, but with Domino's help, she knew they stood a chance against whatever challenges lay ahead.
Domino carefully took off her noise-canceling headphones, her eyes never leaving the fallen Iron Treads. From her belt, she retrieved a unique Poké Ball that gleamed with a futuristic design. It was similar to the Beast Balls used for capturing Ultra Beasts but even more advanced. This was a Paradox Ball specially designed to capture and contain Future Paradox Pokémon.
With a precise throw, she sent the Paradox Ball hurtling towards Iron Treads. The ball made contact, opening with a flash of light that enveloped the mechanical Donphan. Iron Treads was drawn into the ball, its form dissolving into energy and being securely contained within the advanced device.
The Paradox Ball shook once, twice, and then clicked shut, signaling a successful capture. Domino picked up the ball, a satisfied smile on her face.
"Gotcha," Domino said softly, tucking the Paradox Ball back onto her belt. She then turned her attention to Miraidon, who was still recovering from the intense battle and her encounter with the waterfall.
"Rest easy now," Domino said, her tone more gentle. "We'll get you back to full strength soon."
Miraidon managed a weak nod, her body still trembling from exhaustion and the aftereffects of her battle with Iron Treads. She felt a sense of relief knowing that Domino had intervened and successfully captured the formidable threat.
Domino gently helped Miraidon to her feet, supporting her as they began to make their way out of the waterfall's vicinity. "Let's get you somewhere safe," she said, her voice filled with determination. "We need to figure out who sent that Iron Treads after you and why."
As they moved away from the waterfall, the local Pokémon that had fled earlier began to return cautiously, sensing that the immediate danger had passed. Domino kept a watchful eye on their surroundings, ensuring no further threats emerged.
"Whoever's behind this won't stop here," Domino muttered to herself, her mind racing with possibilities. "But we'll be ready."
Together, they headed towards a safer location, leaving behind the site of their intense confrontation. With the Paradox Ball securely holding Iron Treads and Miraidon slowly regaining her strength, they knew they had overcome one challenge. But many more questions—and battles—awaited them.
Domino then called out Wigglytuff, who appeared in a flash of light, her large eyes filled with concern as she saw the state of Miraidon.
"Wigglytuff, can you carry her?" Domino asked, her tone soft but firm. Wigglytuff nodded and gently lifted Miraidon onto her back, cradling the weakened Pokémon with surprising strength and tenderness.
Domino then pulled out her cell phone and tapped the contact labeled "Boss." She put the phone to her ear, listening to the ringtone as they moved away from the waterfall.
After a few moments, Giovanni's voice came through, calm and authoritative as always. "Domino, what do you have to report?"
"Boss, I have some news for you," Domino said, keeping her voice steady. "We've encountered a Future Paradox Pokémon here in Hoenn. It appears someone is sending them after specific targets."
Giovanni's interest was piqued. "Go on."
"I managed to capture a Future Paradox Pokémon that looks like a mechanical Donphan. It's called Iron Treads," Domino continued. "Its target was Miraidon, who was in her human form. I'm with her now, and we're safe for the moment."
Giovanni's expression was unreadable, but his voice carried a hint of intrigue. "Interesting. And Miraidon's condition?"
"She's weakened, but she'll recover. The battle took a lot out of her," Domino replied, glancing at Miraidon, who was resting on Wigglytuff's back.
Giovanni nodded, his eyes flicking to the screen where a new Pokémon appeared in their base. "We need to find out who's sending these Paradox Pokémon and why. This could be a significant threat—or an opportunity."
"I agree," Domino said. "I'll continue to investigate and keep you updated on any new developments."
"Good. Ensure Miraidon is safe and regains her strength. We'll need her for whatever comes next," Giovanni instructed. "And keep that Iron Treads secure. It could provide valuable insights."
"Understood, Boss," Domino replied, ending the call and putting her phone away.
As they moved towards a safer location, Domino's mind was already working on the next steps. She needed to uncover the source of these Paradox Pokémon and their motives. With Miraidon by her side and Giovanni's resources at her disposal, she knew they stood a chance against whatever threats lay ahead.
Domino looked down at the Paradox Ball containing Iron Treads, her determination steeling. "We'll get to the bottom of this," she promised quietly. "And whoever's behind it won't know what hit them."
Giovanni stared intently at the Paradox Ball on his desk, its futuristic design gleaming under the light of his office. He knew the implications of what Domino had uncovered. Giovanni realized that to navigate this new threat; he needed to consult someone who had the power and knowledge to deal with such extraordinary matters. Someone he had a complicated history with and a healthy respect—if not outright fear—for.
He took a deep breath and tapped the lockdown privacy button on his office console, sealing the room from any prying eyes or ears. This call was not one he made lightly, nor one he particularly looked forward to. Giovanni pulled up the contact and initiated the call to one of the few people in the world he genuinely feared: Issei Hyoudou.
Meanwhile, Issei was alone in his private room, taking a moment to relax and reflect after his recent intense battles. The familiar, yet surprising, chime of his phone broke the silence. He glanced at the screen and saw the name, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
With a swipe, he answered the call. "Giovanni," Issei said, his tone neutral but laced with underlying tension. "What brings you to call me?"
Giovanni's face appeared on the screen, his expression serious. "Issei, we need to talk," he said, getting straight to the point. "A situation has come up that involves Future Paradox Pokémon. My agent, Domino, captured one in Hoenn—an Iron Treads—and it was targeting a Miraidon. I believe you have some experience with these matters."
Issei's eyes narrowed slightly as he processed the information. "Future Paradox Pokémon, you say? And targeting Miraidon specifically... That's troubling."
Giovanni nodded. "Yes. I've locked down all information regarding this from all regions. Still, the implications are vast, especially since others in Paldea seem to find a few of these Paradox Pokémon from the future. We don't know who's behind this yet, but it's clear that whoever it is possesses technology and knowledge far beyond the ordinary."
Issei leaned back, thinking while recalling the Iron Jugulus and the fact that Koraidon is a Pokémon of the past, not the future, which means that Pokémon from both the past and future are in Paldea. "Iron Treads and Miraidon. It sounds like someone has an interest in playing god and bringing Pokémon from the future. Have you been able to gather any more details about these Paradox Pokémon?"
"Not much, just that these Pokémon have been specifically sent for targets. We're in the dark about their exact motives or the technology they're using," Giovanni admitted, his frustration evident.
Issei considered his options. He had his battles and challenges to face, but this new threat couldn't be ignored, which is why he had his informants in Paldea. "I'll help, but on my terms. I'll need access to all the data you have on these incidents and the Paradox Ball technology."
Giovanni's relief was palpable. "Agreed. I'll send everything we've got. And don't worry about Ash. He. He is fine and wasn't involved in the battle. Also, be careful. Whoever is behind this clearly has no qualms about manipulating powerful entities."
Issei nodded, glad that Ash was safe but concerned about the Professors of Paldea and their intentions. "Understood. We'll get to the bottom of this. Keep me posted on any new developments. And Giovanni... don't make me regret helping you."
Giovanni managed a small, wry smile. "I wouldn't dream of it."
With that, the call ended. Issei sat back, the weight of a new mission settling on his shoulders. He knew this would be no ordinary challenge. Still, with his skills and resources, along with Giovann's organization, they stood a chance of uncovering the truth behind the appearances of the Paradox Pokémon.
Giovanni, meanwhile, took a moment to compose himself before Domino called him back to his office to share the news that Ash got his second badge, which made Giovanni smile in a moment of being a proud father. The man had done many things in his life, but if there's one thing he never regretted, it was having Ash as his son and Delia as his wife.
Scene!
Now, I know some are wondering why Miraidon lost to Iron Treads, but I wanted to show that she was defeated and still weakened by the other Miraidon who defeated her back at Area Zero. So granted, she's been able to recover some of her strength, but she's still not back at a hundred percent yet, and this battle will be a problem for Miraidon since she'll need to learn to accept help from Ash and the group.
Also, I know some of you are sad that there was only a brief moment of Ash's battle with Roxanne, but I thought a battle of the Paradox Pokémon would be more exciting than another gym battle.
Now, as for Giovanni and Issei's relationship, they're not enemies nor are they friends but more like neutral since they care about Ash and his dreams for the future; so in exchange for Giovanni keeping his 'business' afloat, Issei helping Giovanni with a plea deal that allows him not only to continue being the Gym Leader and keep the money he made in Team Rocket but he could steal anymore Pokémon nor hire others to steal for him, which is why Domino is only sent there as a friend for Ash.
Mewtwo and Issei don't trust Giovanni, and the Team Rocket leader knows this, which is why he doesn't try to outsmart them or control them since he nearly died trying on both of them, and it made him rethink his own life before ceasing any attempt to harm either of them.
Still, see you next time!
Oh, and let me know which Pokémon Ash should catch next in Hoenn in the comments. Ta-Ta!~
