Chapter 10:

The following morning Chun Li was checking on Ryu's wounds from his fight with Vega. He had multiple bruises and cuts but nothing he wouldn't heal quickly from. As Chun Li was looking him over, Ryu saw she was smiling.

"What are you smiling at?" he asked.

"I was just thinking of last night," she replied. Ryu reached over to Chun Li and pulled her in and kissed her. "Be careful, I might want to go again."

"If there weren't things I have to do today, I'd have you right now," he growled in sexual frustration. They then heard a knock at the door. Chun Li went to open it and was greeted by Sagat.

"Will you two please join me in the living room?" Sagat asked. Chun Li and Ryu followed him. "Chun Li," he began with a wai. "I am forever in your debt. You helped me despite your disdain and hatred for me. Your quick thinking saved my mother, she is the one thing I have left that truly matters in this world. If would be my greatest honor to repay you for your kindness one day." Chun Li was completely caught off guard by Sagat's words. "And Ryu, you fought Vega in my place so that I could care for my mother. For all the things I have done in my past, I don't know why the gods have blessed me with this fortune."

"Sagat, it's my job to protect the innocent. I may not be an official agent anymore, but the agent will never come out of me. Believe it or not, I was very happy to see a positive outcome for you and your mother. You are very fortunate to have a parent, something precious I no longer have," Chun Li explained.

"That fight was a long time coming for Vega. I was happy to kick some ass, even with the dark hadou guiding my fists," Ryu added.

"If there is anything you two need, please, don't hesitate to ask me," Sagat said.

"There might be something you can do," Ryu said. "How about a fair fight?"

"You honor me by this request. Nothing would make me happier," Sagat stood tall. He was finally going to get his chance to have his rematch.

"I have something," Chun Li said. "Help with an investigation." His interest was piqued. "Give any information about Shadowlaw to Guile. We still need to take down what's left of it, there is still so much injustice. Help Cammy find her child."

Sagat stood quiet for a minute. He wanted to leave Shadowlaw behind in his past, but he knew it would come back to him. "Deal. As long as my mother and village are left out of this. I worked too hard to get things where they are. Shadowlaw is like an iceberg, you have only seen what's on top, but down below, it's bigger than anyone could imagine."

In San Francisco…

Ken and Eliza were in their room engaging in carnal activities, she wanted to try some new things with him that they had never done before. She had Ken tied up in a swing while she did things for and to him. Just when Eliza was about to mount him, they heard the phone ring. They recognized the ringtone was Ryu and Chun Li's satellite phone.

"If this wasn't a call from Chun Li or Ryu, I would just let it ring," Eliza said disgruntled. "Don't move!" Ken gave Eliza a sarcastic look as she knew he couldn't move at all being tied up. "Chun Li! How is everything going?"

"So much has happened in the last few days! Is Ken around? I need to fill him in," Chun Li said over the phone.

"He's a little tied up at the moment," Eliza smiled at Ken. "But, I'm sure he would love to hear what you have to say." She went over to him and lowered the gag from his mouth.

"Chun Li! Is everything alright? What's going on?" Ken asked.

"Oh Ken! You won't believe it!" Chun Li began. She filled him in from the day's prior events of Ryu fighting Vega to Sagat agreeing to help investigations of Shadowlaw.

"This is great! Sagat might even be able to help with the investigation with Dr. Hsu, I bet!" Ken was so excited to hear the news that he momentarily forgot he, Cammy, and Guile were not mentioning their secret investigation of her former OB doctor.

"Dr. Hsu? What does he have to do with anything?" Chun Li asked confused. Realizing his mistake, he tried to play it off.

"Dr. Hsu…Oh, nothing you need to worry about. Just some…" he was saying but she cut him off.

"Ken. I can tell when you are trying to avoid something. What does my former OB doctor have to do with anything?" Chun Li pressed him for an answer.

"I'm serious, Chun Li. Don't you worry your pretty little head. You have enough to worry about over there," Ken tried his best to ease out.

"I will take a next day flight and beat this out of you if you don't tell me why you are investigating him. Is Guile in on this too?"

"And Cammy," Ken confessed. "Look, we didn't want to say anything about it because we don't even know if there is much to be done about it anyway. Guile was going through Shadowlaw files and found out that he used to work for the Ashura Crime Syndicate." Chun Li immediately had a flashback to when she was 15. She recalled when her and her father were being attacked at their dojo. Her breathing deepened and her heart rate sped up.

"What was he doing as my OB doctor? Aren't you the one who hired him?" Chun Li said angered.

"Chun Li, please, I'm so sorry this slipped out. Like I said, it could be nothing," he pleaded.

"Nothing? You're telling me Ashura was part of Shadowlaw to begin with. We were dealing with them way back then! Sagat was right, it really is like an iceberg." Chun Li hung up the phone.

"Chun Li? Hello? Are you still there?" Ken asked. "Eliza get me out of this swing!" he demanded.

In Thailand…

Chun Li left Sagat's house in a rush. Ryu and Sagat wondered what was the matter with her. Ryu ran after her.

"Chun Li!" He called to her. "Wait! What's the matter? Weren't you just talking to Ken?" Chun Li stopped in her tracks. She slowly turned to Ryu.

"Ken just told me that he, Guile and Cammy found out that Dr. Hsu was working for Shadowlaw! A mole right under our noses and we didn't even suspect it." She said.

"What?" Ryu said in disbelief. "So that means, Bison must have been keeping tabs on our baby the whole time?"

"Yes. He knew exactly how to find us and how to keep an eye on the baby." Chun Li began to get tears in her eyes. Ryu quickly embraced her. "Even after his death, he still haunts me!"

"Don't hold it against them, Chun Li," Ryu said. Chun Li wiped her tears and looked up at him. "Ken, Guile, and Cammy, don't be angry with them. I'm sure they were keeping it secret with the best intentions. None of it really matters anyway. Leave the past in the past. Let them investigate if they want…but it's a dead end for me. It won't bring our son back." Chun Li knew he was right. Sagat was nearby, he had overheard the conversation between Ryu and Chun Li.

"If you'll excuse me, I may be able to help your friends," Sagat said. Chun Li and Ryu looked at him wondering what kind of information he could share.

A couple days later…

Guile arrived in Thailand. He met with Chun Li and Cammy outside Sagat's village. They took him to his hotel to settle in and then to meet with Sagat to go over the information he was willing to give Guile. The four fighters were all in a room together. The tension between Sagat and Guile was felt in the room. Chun Li tried to help them ease their mistrust.

"The only reason I'm not sending in a squad to take you out is because of this exchange of information. Consider yourself lucky!" Guile said with hostility.

"Consider yourself lucky I'm willing to talk! You can thank your friend here," Sagat snapped back.

"Guys, please," Chun Li pleaded. "I'll go over the exact things I want information about, then, Guile, you can ask whatever." Both men reluctantly agreed. "First, we need to find out what happened to Cammy's child. We need any kind of information you have on that. Secondly, who is Fang, and what does he have to do with children kidnappings?"

"I have answers for both of those questions but there are some things I simply cannot reveal due to the nature of my former involvement in Shadowlaw. They'll know it was me who gave you information and I do not want it coming back to me, my mother, or my village. They need to stay out of it," Sagat explained.

"I understand," Chun Li said. Guile crossed his arms annoyed and Cammy put her hand on his shoulder as if to say "take it easy."

"Both your questions relate to each other greatly. Fang is Bison's second in command. A very cold person obsessed with order and protocol."

"What do you mean is?" Cammy asked. "Bison is dead, so does this make Fang the new head of Shadowlaw?"

"Come on, Killer Bee. Do you not remember how things worked?" Sagat asked.

"Killer Bee?" Cammy remembered that was the name they gave her from her killings. "I'd forgotten about that name!"

"So what does that mean? Bison is still alive?" Guile questioned.

"I don't know for sure but I do know he always had a team working on keeping him alive should his body be destroyed, like the case of Ryu and Chun Li destroying him at the airfield. Chun Li's heart raced, the thought of Bison being alive haunted her. "His psycho power is immense and unrivaled." Sagat continued. "As I said before, the kids he considered the most important got sent to a top secret location. That is probably where the child is."

"Then how do we find out this top secret location?" Cammy asked impatiently.

"You'll have to investigate, unless one of you wants to get pregnant, they'll have eyes on you in no time," he replied.

Cammy and Chun Li scoffed at the idea of getting pregnant again.

"It's not the worst idea," Guile chimed in.

"Do you really think Fang will give you answers at all even if you do manage someway to catch him?" Sagat asked.

"He was pretty difficult when I confronted him in India," Chun Li added. She listened to Cammy, Sagat, and Guile converse more. After a while, all she could think about was leaving the room, the air was too heavy for her. She excused herself and left to find Ryu.

Later that night…

Cammy made her way to the police station where Vega was still being held. As much as she didn't want to see him, she felt the need to try and get some answers of her past from him.

"Chiquita…" Vega said when he saw Cammy walk to the cell bars.

"I can let you out of here…but first you must give me answers," she said in a stern voice. Vega's interest was piqued.

"Perhaps, if I feel like it," he replied with a twisted smile.

"Where is my child?" Cammy asked in a serious tone. "What did Bison do with them? Is there even a child at all?" Vega only chuckled. "Loosen those lips if you don't want me to ruin that face of yours." She held a small can of gas up for him to see.

"You wouldn't. You'll take everyone out in the building," he said.

"Try me, you bastard. I'll set this off and as you're lying there unconscious I'll carve up your face with a permanent smile," Cammy replied. Vega knew she meant business. He finally agreed to comply.

"She had blonde hair and blue eyes just like you," he began. Cammy gasped.

"I had a girl?" She said.

"Born two years ago on March 15th. Bison took her and sent her away immediately. I don't know where she is," Vega said with reluctance.

"You have no clue where she is? I think you need to try harder to remember!" Cammy held up the can of gas again.

"On my honor as a Spaniard, I don't know where Isla is," he began.

"Isla? Her name is Isla? How would you know that if she was taken away?" Cammy cried.

"It was not hard to overhear Bison talking about your daughter. I assume Sagat told you who fathered this child?" Vega asked. Cammy nodded her head yes.

"How can I find where Isla is? Tell me something! I want to know if she's safe, I at least want to know that!" Cammy pleaded.

"And you'll let me out if I tell you?" Vega wanted reassurance he could escape before Sagat dealt with him. She nodded in agreement.

"Find the doctor, Hsu. He was sent to watch over Chun Li as well. Find Hsu, you'll find the children," he said.

Cammy let Vega out of the jail cell. She saw him leave fast as lightning. She knew she would get a lot of heat from Guile, Chun Li, and Sagat, but in this instance, she didn't care. All she cared about finding out was the location of her daughter. Cammy left the police station unnoticed and walked back to Sagat's house. She thought about what Vega had said, blonde hair and blue eyes, and the name Isla. So, I do have a child! Isla…Isla, I actually like the name. I wonder what she's like.

Back at Sagat's house, Cammy found Chun Li sitting in the front porch area with a cup of tea. She went to sit beside her. They sat quietly for a moment.

"I'm leaving for London tomorrow," Cammy began.

"Tomorrow? So soon?" Chun Li questioned.

"New information has been acquired. I must investigate it," she replied. Chun Li looked at Cammy wondering what she was talking about. "I need to find Hsu. Apparently he must have been my doctor too when I was pregnant with…Isla."

"What?" Chun Li gasped. "You know her name? And you had a girl?! How did you find this out?"

"Nevermind how I found it out. Point is, I need to find Hsu. He might know where to find the children." Cammy said. Chun Li didn't question her best friend. She knew it was best to be supportive in what Cammy wants to do. She leaned her head on Chun Li's shoulder and began to cry. Chun Li embraced her.
