CHAPTER THREE — STELLA

After finally finishing the most boring class ever, Musa and I meet up with Bloom and Layla, two more of our childhood friends, before we all move on over towards the lunch hall.

"Is everybody going to Nabu's later on?"

Bloom asks as we all step into the lunch hall.

All eyes are on us; people stare, some even glare, and others follow behind us as we walk further into the room.

The corners of my lips twitch.

"I am," Layla says. "Why don't we all have a sleepover? His parents are away for the weekend."

I raise an eyebrow at her, feeling my lips stretch into a little grin.

"His parents are away?" I say teasingly. "Is that code word for come over, let's fuck?"

Musa bursts out laughing at my side, and Bloom shakes her head at me—a smile on her face.

Layla smirks, nodding her head at me.

"You know it is, Queen Bee."

I laugh too, unable to stop myself.

The three of them—Layla, Bloom and Musa—are in relationships with the guys—Nabu, Sky and Riven.

I'm the odd one out when it comes to relationships, but they've never made me feel any different for not having anybody.

There was that one guy, but…

I shake that thought away, choosing to take a deep breath in, desperate to get that memory out of my head.

It wasn't fun freaking out in front of everybody earlier on today, and there's no way I'll have another panic attack in front of them all here.

As the four of us take a seat at our table, we wait for the boys to join us.

Today is their day to get us food, so we'll just have to wait to see what they get us.

We all sit right at the very back of the lunch hall, and it's great that we do since it gives us an advantage.

It means that we have eyes on everybody else in the lunch hall, and it means that we're hidden away from the eyes of our teachers.

"There they are."

Musa says, causing me to lift my head as I spot the boys.

They're all walking side by side, food in their hands, as they make their way towards us.

The students around them have their eyes on the boys, and I smile as I watch their longing gazes.

"Thank you, boys."

Bloom says first, taking the food from the boys as we pass it between ourselves.

Once everyone has taken a seat, we all begin to eat.

I take a look at the baguette Riven's bought me, and scrunch my nose up.

I'm not in the mood to eat today.

Pushing it aside, I take a grape out from my fruit pot, popping it into my mouth.

"So," Sky begins once everybody around us has looked away, focusing on their own conversations now. "What are we doing today?"

We all turn to look at Nabu who shrugs his shoulders at us.

"We can put a movie on?"

Musa suggests.

Riven throws his arm around her, tugging her body closer to his.

"Are you saying we should Netflix and chill, girlfriend of mine?"

She grins up at him, winking his way as he leans down, chuckling against her face before he pulls her in for a kiss.

The boys wolf-whistle, and we all laugh.

I bite down on my bottom lip, smiling as I look away from them both.

Everybody at this table has someone, and even though it makes me feel lonely at times, I love that they have someone.

They deserve it after everything we've all been through.

As we all continue speaking, wondering what we should do this weekend at Nabu's, I decide to speak up.

"I say that we all just leave now. We can grab some snacks from the store before we all head on over to Nabu's place, and figure out what to do once we're there. What do you all think?"

One by one, they all nod their heads at me.

"Sounds like a plan."

And so it's decided.

After we finish eating lunch, we're all heading off to the store, and then we'll all make our way to Nabu's for the weekend.

Fun.
