Cordelia had indeed become an Amazon Queen. One who spoke Greek, as well as a number of other languages. But she wasn't trying to conquer anything as Amazons were taught more than the arts of war. They were taught patience, to think through problems, as well as a number of academic subjects that many cultures considered the province of men. Consequently she wasn't trying to conquer anything, like the others she was attempting to figure out what was going on. She'd quickly decided that she'd been transported away from her village and her people and she had no idea how or by whom. It also didn't take long to realize two sets of very small beings, one group appearing to be small humans, were fighting each other. Amazons had no problem with fighting, they'd invented a number of techniques that served them well, but getting involved in someone else's conflict, especially when she had no idea what the basis of the conflict was about, was something she wanted to avoid. Amazons had invented fighting from trees, so she took to the nearest tree to gain a vantage point above the fray. She was surprised to find it difficult to climb the tree, as though she hadn't climbed a tree in a long time. Once in the branches she settled down to observe.
It was from this vantage point that she was able to see three beings that also seemed out of place. She observed two of them, a female dressed in battle armor with a sword strapped to her back, knock the small beings unconscious and place them in a nearby home. Cordelia surmised the teenager was attempting to keep them from harming each other. Perhaps these beings didn't belong here either and she was aware of that.
Queen Cordelia also noted a young male attempting to do the same, render the small beings unconscious and place them out of harm's way. Both were being careful not to harm anyone as they did so and Cordelia approved of that, even if by doing so they were inserting themselves in someone else's conflict.
The third being she noticed was a centaur and his strategy was entirely different. He approached the group of small humans and spoke to them. They immediately stopped fighting as whatever information he conveyed to them appeared to alarm them and they began doing as the other two beings were doing, subdue rather than harm.
Clearly all three of them knew something she didn't and she needed information, which meant she needed to speak with them. If they proved hostile towards her, she could and would defend herself. She returned to the ground and with her staff held ready to defend herself with, she approached the male.
'That's Cordelia, my girlfriend.' Xander told Autolycus. 'She dressed as an Amazon Queen, not one in particular. She's already a Queen, sort of. Queen of Sunnydale High, which is like me being the King of Nerds, Geeks and Cretins. I don't know if she's possessed or transformed. She looks the same.'
'I can see why she's considered a Queen. She's beautiful.'
'I know, still have no idea what she sees in me, but we're happy.' Autolycus felt a pang as he thought of his own love and how far from her he was.
'She may have transformed mentally and not been possessed.' Autolycus warned. 'If so, than she's not going to recognize you.'
'On some level she will.' Xander answered. 'Even if she doesn't understand it. She's psychic, like I am. We're still learning to understand and control our abilities, but it's a part of her, so somewhere in her, she'll know she can trust me.'
'I'm going to see if we can understand each other. It's possible she doesn't speak a common language anymore.' Autolycus cautiously approached the beautiful girl and spoke Greek, his own native language. The show might use English, but it did depict people who mostly lived in Ancient Greece, the Magic had extrapolated. Fortunately for him, the Amazon Queen did too. He was able to explain the situation and the young Queen fell silent as she considered his words.
'Why do I want to believe him? That we are possessing these bodies, our own left far behind? It would explain why I had difficulty climbing the tree, my mind knows how to do it, my body is unfamiliar with it. Regardless, this situation needs to be investigated and the source discovered. I can decide what to do when I have more information.'
"Very well. Should I call you Autolycus or Xander?" She asked. "If there are indeed two minds inside you."
"There are and we can talk to each other, but Xander has no control over his own body right now." Autolycus answered. "But how about if you've got a question about where we are or people we run into, you address Xander. He can hear everything you're saying. I'll repeat what he says. By the way, he's very happy to see you're physically alright and very worried because that's his girlfriend you're a part of and she doesn't seem to be a separate voice inside you."
"No, it's just me in this head. For their sake I hope when this is over everyone is back where and how they belong. But I get the feeling he can be trusted, so perhaps she is here, just unable to speak."
"Then let's collect the others and figure out how to stop this mess." Autolycus indicated an 'after you' gesture and the two, three or possibly four individuals in two bodies moved to meet the centaur and the teenager in battle armor that were approaching them.
