Return's & Reports

Welcome back, something I forgot to write last chapter was that Caren is Alexander's natural enemy, well her or Emiya. But ignoring that, I don't own type-moon or any of their works.

Alexander's home, London, Monday October 23rd 2000

Alexander, dropping his brief case on a chair in the corner of the room, flops down into bed and sighs deeply. But just before he can drift off to sleep, the door opens. Alexander immediately rolling onto the floor pulling out his pistol and pointing it towards the door, lowers it upon seeing the hooded figure.

"Sorry!" she says as she darts behind the wall. "I told you he was a Jerk." states a male voice, standing up and holstering his gun, Alexander walks out the door, and turns to Gray. "Okay, firstly how did you even get in here? I have a bounded field, why are you here, and You watch your mouth Add." he says suddenly holding up the lantern like mystic-code.

"Uh..." Gray lets out seeing Alexander berate the mystic-code. Sighing Alexander hands Add back saying "Sorry, a side effect of my mage-craft." nodding she says "uh... right why I'm here... I found Sir talking to a bit of cloth a few days ago."

"Iskandar's cloak, right?" He interrupts before sighing again "How do you know that?" Add shouts at him shaking his head he says "I don't, just please continue." nodding Gray says "Well when I asked him about it I... Wanted to help him with the grail war-" "Heaven's feel" Alexander corrects. Gray lowering her eyes says "I want to help him see Iskandar again... and Sir said that only the Einzbern know more about the ritual than you... so I thought..." she says trailing off

"That you might be willing to help me?" Alexander shaking his head says "Wow you haven't met a lot of mages yet have you, but no way in hell! Damn it! Sorry I'll help you if you let me study Rhongomyniad." he offers. Gray looking up slightly asks "Uhm... why do you want to study it?"

"Well, I'm not sure if you knew but another version of me used it as a foundation for some of his more impressive feats, but he never wrote down the process itself. Please leave." Alexander says his tone shifting at the last part.

"Uh..." She lets out as Add shouts "Hey don't talk to her like that you jerk!" blinking a few times Alexander once again sighs deeply and says "Ignore that, follow me." and walking off towards the direction of the library.

Once inside, Alexander immediately starts looking for one of the books of Heaven's feel advice. Eventually finding the one titled, The Heavens feel for the underprepared and suicidal, grabbing it Alexander turns around to Hand the book off to Gray.

"You have a week before I'm coming to get it back, now if you'll excuse me, I need to check the bounded field since you somehow managed to get past it." he says walking past her and heading towards the basement. "Uh... Thank You!" Gray says as he passes, before heading towards the front door.

Stopping just infront of the door Alexander says "Wait, just in case of the unlikely event both you and the Professor end up as masters, I'm going to assume you don't want to summon King Arthur." he states getting a nod in return. Sighing Alexander pulls a book revealing another secret room, walking inside Alexander grabs some of the assorted items in the room, a black piece of metal, a sword, and bit of bone.

Walking out of the room, Alexander lays it out on a table, and motioning with his arm says "Take your pick." Gray looking at the assortment of items asks "What are they?" Alexander picking up the piece of black metal says "Well this is a piece off of Medea's staff and what I would use as a catalyst to summon her"

Picking up the bit of bone Alexander says "And this is a fragment of one of the old men of the mountain masks not sure which one." Gray nodding along points to the sword "And... the um... sword?" she asks nodding Alexander says "Ah yes that's Excalibur."

"..." Gray looking at Alexander with a look of disbelief asks "That's Excalibur?" Alexander sighing says "Not that Excalibur, it's one of the many Excalibur's used by Richard the lionheart" he explains picking up the sword.

Picking everything up Alexander says "Well, since it's unlikely either of you will end up masters, I'm going to put these back but think up on it just in case." he says placing everything back, and closing the hidden room. Walking straight past Gray, Alexander starts going down the stairs heading towards the basement.

Alexander once inside the basement, starts checking on the many runes making up his bounded field. Spending the next few hours checking and rechecking them, since as far as he could tell they were working as intended.

Deciding to start over, Alexander slowly starts to unbind each rune, before rebinding them all at once. And checking again, to make sure it's working properly. Once finished with the bounded field Alexander not trusting it fully, starts getting to work setting up a second, simple alarm field underneath the first just in case the first fails again.

Sitting down on his desk chair, Alexander leans back completely exhausted and passes out on top his desk, having forgotten to double check the latch on Avengers case.

Clock Tower, London, Tuesday October 24th 2000

Standing outside the familiar office of Zeltretch. Alexander knocking on the door immediately hears "Come in." from the other side of it walking inside the large, office he sets a case down onto Zeltretch's desk.

"Here's Elias's circuits along with everything I thought you'd like." he says popping the latches off and pulling out a glowing glass like plane, and some papers. Looking everything over Zeltretch nods and says "Good work Alexander but you do know that I'm not the one you bring this to."

Sighing Alexander grabs everything and starts repacking it, "Where do I go?" shaking his head Zeltretch waves his hand and says "I will handle it this time." he says grabbing the case and laying it on the ground.

"Sit down, it's been a while since we've had a conversation." he says, motioning for Alexander to sit down, sitting Alexander keeping an eye around to make sure there's no surprises, says "So what did you want to talk about."

"Well, I looked over Miss Edelfelt staying over for many nights, mainly because I doubt you two would ever risk ruining your friendship and research partners for anything. But you and Miss Pendragon is not something I could overlook." he says holding his hands over his face to hide his smirk.

"Nice try." Alexander says making Zeltretch's smirk widen. "Very well, I wanted to know how your circuits are doing?" Alexander sighing says "They still won't turn off, though I did figure out that the excess Prana is fueling whatever the circuits on my arm are."

"Really, do you believe that you could use mage-craft safely?" Alexander shrugging says "I'm not sure" nodding Zeltretch says "If you need anything to help with your problem you could just ask." Alexander taking a second says "I could use anything you have on the third magic."

"You wish to see if the Spiritual healing side of the Heavens feel may let you gleam more into your situation?" he asks, to which Alexander just nods in response. "Your other self-knowledge of the third magic was second only to Justeaze herself; I doubt theirs's much I have on the subject that you don't already possess."

"While your right about that, what you do possess is likely from either the Einzbern or myself, and I could use the insights of an magi family lacking in the morals I possess." Zeltretch narrowing his eyes says "I understand the insights that could be learned from such methods. But understand Alexander the usual magus is someone I would not hesitate to kill. I will give you what I have, under the condition you use your own judgement."

Nodding Alexander says "I understand." Zeltretch nodding says "I'll send them to your workshop." Standing up Alexander walks to the door, "Thank you." he says not turning around and walking out. Immediately heading through the many hallways of the Clock tower heading towards his first class of the day once more.

Eventually reaching Waver's class, Alexander opens the door, to see for the first time a class already in session. Ignoring everyone he heads to sit right next to Luvia. Turning to him she Says "It's good to see you alright, how did your trip go?"

"I didn't get within ten yards, and shot him two times to make sure he was dead before raiding his workshop, and stealing his crest. Except the run in with the Her, everything went as planned." Luvia catching the emphasis on the word her and the contempt behind it asks "her?"

"Caren, Hortensia. A church exorcist and Kirei's daughter" he explains, Luvia slightly annoyed at the lack of proper explanation says "And who is he?" Alexander looking straight at Luvia says "I have no idea who he is."

"Oh..." she says realizing Alexander wasn't speaking for himself. "But when I think of the name, I want to reach for my pistol." he explains, Luvia changing the subject says "did anything else exciting happen?" Alexander shaking his head says "Except knocking out that Mortician and likely being a suspect for a murder... not much I didn't really spend a lot of time there, though I should probably start learning more languages."

"He figured you out because of your atrocious Italian, didn't he?" she asks, Alexander shaking his head says "Nope, I got the age wrong" "Ahem," Waver interrupts, causing Alexander and Luvia to look towards him, with varying levels of hostility.

"Mister Silver, put down that gun now!" he shouts to Alexander who complies but stays ready to fire just in case. "Now if you and Miss Edelfelt are done talking, I should continue my lesson." he says pointing towards the board. "Maybe you should wait a minute prof." Alexander says before sighing heavily and dropping his head to his desk.

"Sorry." he says his voice muffled by the desk

Alexander's home, London, Wednesday October 26th 2000

"So, Lord El-Melloi's apprentice walked in your house bypassing your bounded field and you have no idea how?" Luvia says recounting Alexanders explanation. "Yes, and I could use your help figuring out what's wrong with it, and I need to add you to them."

"Very well, but only because I know you're not insulting me by inviting me into your workshop." she says heading down the stairs leading to the basement. Once in the basement both Her and Alexander start the long process of looking over the runes. "Alexander, was your intent for the Field to alert you to anyone crossing the threshold, and to Hinder anyone with hostile intent?" she asks after quickly looking over them.

"As well as being able to show their location, and blocking any non-approved magical connections." he confirms. "Alexander the field is working exactly as indented." Luvia says having looked over the runes. "Are you sure?" Luvia nodding says "I will admit to not being familiar with primordial runes, but from what I can tell, the field is working as indented."

"Then How did Gray bypass it?" he asks, Luvia standing up says "I don't know, It's very peculiar. Maybe I should leave the premises and return to see if you're notified." Nodding Alexander says nothing and starts looking over the field.

Luvia quickly leaving Alexander's house, turns around and heads right back in. "It worked!" Alexander shouts from the basement. Luvia going back down the stairs says "Odd, perhaps you should invite Pendragon back to see if it happens again?"

"I can deal with that latter; anyways do you want me to add you to the field?" he asks. "Very well." Luvia says with a slight nod. Alexander placing his ritual knife in her hands says "Just drop some of your blood on the rune cluster and you'll be added." nodding Luvia Pricks her finger and drops some blood onto the runes which glow for a second before dimming down.

"Hm," Luvia lets out looking at the knife. "Something wrong?" Alexander asks Luvia Looking at the knife shakes her head and says "No I just find it odd that it didn't hurt." Alexander confused asks "Are they supposed to hurt?"

"No. Most Magi don't waste the resources to make Ritual Knifes cause no pain" she explains handing the knife back to him. "Okay." Alexander says dismissing it. "Anything else you need assistance with?" she asks Alexander shaking his head says "Not really, feel free to stay for dinner though." Luvia grimacing slightly says "No that's fine, though I might drop by some other time to check on your crest."

"Not a crest." Alexander remarks his tone different. Both freezing "Alexander?" Luvia asks "I heard it." he responds. "I may take you up on your offer of dinner." Luvia says, nodding Alexander says "I'll get on it." and heads up the stairs to start cooking as Luvia heads up to the library to start looking for anything pertaining to Alexanders current situation.

Luvia spending the next half hour looking through book after book looking for anything the other alexander might know about the not crest? And having found nothing. Alexander placing a plate of an assortment of meat and vegetables. "Any luck?" Luvia setting the book she's reading down says "No so far, all the books I've checked have been about basic mage-craft, Advance runes, and Heroic spirits."

Alexander picking up a book from the unchecked pile, starts paging through it. Not finding any possible explanation for his circuits current state. "Alexander." Luvia says suddenly, looking up, she hands him the paper in her hand.

The False crest phenomenon

The False crest phenomenon, is the very rare occurrence of magic circuits temporarily linking together under the intense stress of powering an immensely taxing Mage-craft. A phenomenon I only noticed while making an artificial phantasm, now it's not exclusive to making artificial phantasm, but possible through powering any intensive Mage-craft. While I don't know much about the Phenomenon due to its rarity, which combined with most Magi possessing a Magic crest of their own is probably the reason for its recent discovery.

While the Magic-circuits do appear to be in the process of forming a Magic-crest it's actually a side effect of producing and outputting prana at a level of near burning them out, as such the phenomenon cannot be safely done for large amounts of time, the exact length of which is unknown.

Setting the paper down Alexander looks up and says "Okay..." unsure of where to start. "I believe we found what's going on." nodding Alexander says "But if that's the case why didn't Zeltretch know about it?" he asks while looking down to the paper. "He didn't publish it" he realizes. "He didn't?" she asks looking down the paper again.

"Then did Zeltretch, not read it?" Alexander shaking his head says "He did, this says that a false crest can only happen during extreme cases of prana production, which I shouldn't be doing." Luvia thinking for a moment says "Didn't you say that your circuits are powering your arm?" nodding alexander says "That's why they won't turn off, but it's not actually taking that much prana, I can redirect most of it away from it."

"Well do we have any other theories?" she asks, Alexander nodding says "I have one."

Omake,Apocrypha 2,

Inside a church sitting on a pew, is Alexander still entirely covered in bandages, keeping an eye out on the host of this meeting a tanned skin young priest with white haired. And not paying as much attention to the assassin servant hidden from view.

"Are you sure you don't wish to bring lancer?" the priest asks, barely moving his head in a shake Alexander says "No, just because were fighting Darnick and his group together doesn't mean I'm going to trust anyone related to them."

The priest grimacing slightly says "Ah yes Kirie can be... a bit-" "I was talking about his daughter, but yeah him to." Alexander interrupts. The priest turning says "than wouldn't it be better to have lancer here just in case?" Letting out a pained chuckle Alexander says "well he's a bit busy getting ready to use his noble phantasm to blow up the church if anything happens to me."

Tilting his head, he says "I could not imagine he would be okay with that." he says just as the door opens and an older Japanese man wearing sunglasses covering a scar over his eye. "I had an appointment here. Were one of you the one I was supposed to call?" he asks casting a glance over both the priest, and Alexander.

Nodding the priest says "Yes I'm the dire-" he starts being interrupted by "Yeah, he's the one running this grail war, Shirou Kotomine. Nice to see you again Mister Shishigou, you bring your servant here or did you leave her outside ready to blow us up"

"Her!" a feminine voice shouts as a person in full plate charges towards Alexander sword drawn. "Saber!" Kairi shouts stopping the servants blade inches from Alexanders neck. "Hello, Mo the silent." Alexander greets calmly. Saber shaking with rage, hops back dismissing their sword.

"Alexander?" Kairi asks having finally placed the voice. "Ahem, now that your aquatinted with Lancer's master, shall we go straight into business?" shaking their head saber says "First I would like to know what the hell is going on with the Mummy? Over there." saber says unsure if their using the word mummy correctly.

"Well Long story short, I survived Vlad, summoned lancer who wrapped my wounds up and I then made fun of you, Mo" Saber seemingly stopping their shaking asks "Wait your talking with Lancer, who is it?" Alexander looking over to saber asks "Why would I tell you that?"

"If your done I believe we really should get down to talking strategy." Shirou says. "Nah, Lancer and I will be leaving now, grail war to fight and all." Alexander says getting up slowly and walking away holding his sides.

"Where are you going?" Shirou asks, Alexander not turning around says "To kill our biggest obstacle in the grail war, Ruler." he says opening the door and leaving the church. Saber looking towards Kairi asks "You know him?" nodding Kairi says "Yes, honestly if he was in better condition, he would be the most dangerous master in this war."

And that's it, to immediately get this out the way, yes, I made up the false crest phenomenon and I would like to think I've given a decent explanation of it and how rare it is. But also like I said when Zeltretch gave his explanation of what's happening just because this could be it doesn't mean it is. Moving onto the Omake, to clarify Kairi's comment, he's right since Excluding Shirou who is a servant, Tsukihime Alexander is the strongest master in the grail war, though he's still way weaker than original Alexander. Who was much stronger than either.
