Entered the land, desiring rest.
Desire became a need, need became a curse.
They stare on, despondent, hopeless.
Strength peerless, yet unused.
O Pilgrim, of the steady step.
Mardok has lost his interest, you stand alone.
Rin feels like screaming, actually, she feels like wringing his neck out.
She would if it wasn't a futile effort. What wasn't these days?
The GSC president promised a 'Sensei' and they got one. He was incredible and appeared to be the catch-all solution to the anarchy that plagued Kivotos.
She distinctly remembers the day that they stormed Sanctum Tower. His gait was lumbering and the sound from his footsteps alerted anything living to their approach miles away, neither impeded their progress, nothing that the Sukeban threw at him even scratched his armor. A storm of vines and ice retorted against any attacks they threw. Rin and the other representatives on the trip were reduced to mere bystanders.
"Vice President, what even is this thing?" She remembers the treasurer of Millenium asking. Her sense of astonishment was long since gone.
Oukacon was obliterating the defenses of the Sukeban. Rin and the others opted to merely stand back. The one time they tried to fight, Oukacon stomped in their general direction, a violent if effective rebuke.
"I am not entirely sure. It accepted the role of Sensei and was recommended by the GSC President." Rin paused for a moment to put her feelings in the right words. "I can see part of why she did so." It was quite the understatement at the time.
The area in front of them was left relatively intact. The treasure- Yuuka, that was her name, she reprimanded Oukacon for his excessive property damage before this. Buildings had massive layers of frost over them and pavement was cracked and rendered useless. It wasn't the immediate concern the first time he did it but it became apparent that the damage would quickly add up and Yuuka eventually snapped. Her job as a treasurer grants her a keen insight into the costs of such a disaster and it was only a matter of time really.
The sound of a pommel striking concrete rang throughout the surroundings, that was his signal that the battle had finished, over the past hour they worked past his inability to speak.
"Sensei. We are approaching Sanctum Tower in only a few minutes, expect heavy resistance…" Rin trailed off. "Just keep the destruction at a minimum, what's inside of the tower is essential to the restoration of order to Kivotos." She sighed
Oukacon merely nodded.
He lumbered forth before a sniper round clangs off of his helmet, it landed at Rin's feet, she wasn't very surprised.
"So it was true…" A… disturbingly fascinated voice rang out.
Rin shivers remembering it.
"It was you! I've been waiting for someone who finally understands! The purity of destruction! The-" It was Kosaka Wakamo.
Rin mentally tuned out the rest of the spiel.. The most important part about her appearance isn't what was talking about, it was what she was doing. More specifically, getting a bit too close to the Sensei.
"Wait." She puts a hand on the barrel of Suzumi's assault rifle.
It was immediately aimed at Wakamo but she understandably hesitated to shoot, she's all over Sensei right now, it's… pretty uncomfortable to think about even now. It profoundly disturbed her in the moment.
Wakamo, with her hands on Oukacon's face, was staring deep into his eyes? (Rin's never actually seen his eyes before, he just has a slit in the helm for them.) She whispers something to him before she promptly bounds away. Bullets are immediately fired but only a few actually hit their mark, Wakamo made her escape into a nearby alleyway.
"Sensei! Are you okay?" Suzumi walked over to him as she said that.
Other such exclamations were made by the other representatives, but they were all answered by a simple gesture. A shrug. Such indifference to the situation would initially look rather 'cool' (Those comments on BlueTube are really strange.) to the rest of the populace. If only they knew.
Really, if only they knew why the Sensei was so 'busy.' Why he didn't do any lessons. Why he refused to show up in public after the retaking of Sanctum Tower.
"Oukacon…" Rin stares at him.
He's in his 'office' and he's still just standing there. His natural pose it seems.
"You have to do something, if it's a matter of not knowing how, I'm willing to show you. It's… why…" She mutters.
She wouldn't even bother with something like this were it not for the showing earlier this week. Considering the power he wields, and the position of power he has, he'd easily be able to resolve many problems. Only the problems that involve violence however, though considering Kivotos, maybe that's most problems.
"..." He makes no noise, not even the sound of movement.
She honestly can't tell if he's even awake when he's like this.
"...just know that there are girls counting on you. Everyday you're like this, more and more lose faith, I hope you remember that." Rin sighs.
She walks closer to him. She takes in his armored figure, it's impressive bulk never failing to make an impression, how disappointing that it's rarely ever been viewed outside of that one day.
"Why are you doing this? A reason is all I ask right now." She holds out a tablet infront of his face.
He can type. This was something they'd figured out the first day, he's a sentient being and capable of reason, he just… can't… be bothered anymore?
"So?" She waves it infront of his eyes.
He grasps it before slowly typing out a message.
'I'll apprehend more fugitives, should you desire my abilities there.'
That's a start. He's been here rotting for days now.
"Yes, that'll do, we can call Momoka to see what's available right now." She speaks with a encouraging tone of voice.
Slow steps. One at a time.
