Ch.1 roomies...?

Only a small glimmer of sunlight shone through the grey skies, the hustle and bustle of the city traffic was a terror to put up with to say the least.

Callie Torres had just finished her day of work at Seattle Grace, finding herself yet again putting up flyer after flyer in the green city... she was looking for someone to help split her rent bill with. 'Roommates come and go'... she thought to herself as she stuck her last remaining flyer onto the telephone poll, sending up a silent prayer to whomever comes across her desperate plea. Who was she kidding? how pathetic... Callie shook her head, ripping the paper from the poll she wadded up the flyer and shoved it into her leather jacket pocket.

Dreading the walk home to her empty apartment, Callie mindlessly scrolled through her phone... 'Maybe I should just call and ask her' she thought to herself, taking in a deep breath she hit dial and quickly began to walk through the Seattle streets.

"Hello?"

"Teddy? it's Callie! I've been thinking about the roommate situation, and I was wondering if that friend of yours is still looking for a place to stay?" the brunette asked, Callie had become e-quaintances with the cardio surgeon rather quickly after Cristina had left Seattle Grace in such a hurry. Cristina, being one of the many people to stay with Callie, was messy but paid her half of the bills and minded her own business for the most part... needless to say it wouldn't take much to replace Cristina Yang.

"Callie hey! yes Arizona is flying into town this Friday she's still needing a place to stay, she refuses to stay with Owen and I with the kids..." Teddy trailed off, Callie wrapped her arms around herself, fighting off the cold wind she spoke into the receiver, "Uh is there any way that you could mention my apartment to her?" arriving to the blue apartment door, she fumbled with her keys before stepping inside.

"Are you sure? you don't have to Callie... maybe Owen and I could-"

"Yes, God please yes I am so sick of hanging up pointless flyers every day" Callie pleaded, grabbing a bottle of red wine she poured herself a glass before sitting down on the sectional, readjusting the phone to her ear.

"I'll ask Arizona" Teddy replied... kids squealing and the front door slamming making Owen and the kids arrivals known... Callie thanked Teddy in a hurry, ending the call, she sighed pulling a throw over her body she slowly sipped at the wine, wishing and hoping that Teddys friend would be her saving grace.

It wasn't long until Friday came, Callie was paged into the ER at 1 in the morning and the incoming traumas had not stopped.

"Hunt! I need a crash cart," Callie shouted as she grabbed her gloves and donned a yellow medical gown. A school bus crash... bodies everywhere... all hands-on deck... nonstop.

"Got it!" Owen wheeled in the supplies.

"Charge to 250! come on come on stay with me..." Callie pleaded, placing the paddles onto the teenager's chest, the body jolted... still nothing. Callie proceeded with CPR, knowing good and well that the defib was not working in her favor today, she couldn't let this boy die today... not on her watch. Chest compressions after chest compressions, Callie could feel the sweat begin to bead down her forehead as she frantically did everything, she could do to save this young man, someone's child, for Gods sakes...

"Dr. Torres that's enough... he's gone," Owen placed his hand over Callie's... she stopped and looked up at the monitor, the flatline... that damn flat line. "No! this is the 4th one today I- I can't do this!" Callie shouted, stumbling back from the innocent boy who laid there lifeless. She ripped her gloves and gown off, rushing away before wet hot tears could fall down her face.

"Dr. Torres get back here!" Owen shouted, watching the fleeing woman... he knew it was no use... ER nurses glared at the man, he shook his head in embarrassment... he called the time of death and quickly went to find Teddy.

Wiping away the evidence of tears, Callie grabbed the handle to one of the on-call rooms, slamming the door shut she locked it... her back hit the wooden door with a thud, sliding down until she reached the floor, silently sobbing into the knees of her scrub pants. Losing a patient was hard but losing 4 in the same day? felt like a gut punch... Callie sniffled, pulling down the sleeves on her under shirt she wrapped arms around herself for comfort... needing reassurance that everything was going to be okay, feeling like a failure of a doctor... not knowing how she would be able to face the families of those innocent children... their whole lives ahead of them and taken away just like that... because of a stupid careless drunk driver.

Callie grabbed her phone... 4pm? she sighed, getting up from the floor of the on-call room she dusted herself off... her phone buzzed.

'Owen told me what happened today... if you want to schedule a different time to show Arizona the apartment, I'm sure she would understand' Teddy texted. "Shit!" the brunette cursed, collecting herself in a hurry, she was supposed to show Teddys friend the apartment at 5 she quickly stopped by the locker rooms, the sound of Teddys laughter and another's whom Callie hadn't heard before made the Latina freeze. Damnit, she thought... trying to adjust her scrubs to look more presentable knowing she was going to switch them but the thought of Teddys friend, Arizona, her possible future roommate seeing her disheveled would not be a good first impression.

Here goes nothing, Callie thought to herself, pushing the door to the locker rooms open. Teddy and another woman turned to the door, immediately locking eyes with Callie.

"Callie! this is Arizona..." Teddy motioned between the two, "Zona this is Callie the ortho God I've been telling you about!" Teddy smiled folding her arms across her chest.

Callie smiled politely at Teddys friend, "Nice to meet you I've heard little to nothing about you thanks to our friend Teddy" the Latina teased, the petite blonde giggled as she stretched out a hand, "It's nice to meet you too Callie I've heard nothing but good things" Arizona stifled a laugh at the reaction she got from Callie.

"Teddy!" Callie glared at the cardio surgeon

"What? I'm sorry! Arizona and I talk lots and lots about the Seattle Grace gossip of course she knows about you, Meredith, Alex, Cristina, Mark, pretty much the whole hospital" Teddy defended, looking to Arizona for help she nodded her head in agreement, "Yeah Teddy and I go way back" the blonde supplied, Callie looked between the two women, "Okay - okay fine but I think it's only fair that I get to know more about you," Callie declared, Teddy and Arizona shrugged simultaneously, "Of course how about the three of us get something to eat then we can go see the apartment?" Callie and Arizona looked at each other and then back at Teddy, "Yeah that sounds super!" the blonde smiled, unbeknownst to Arizona, Callie cringed silently... super? how perky is she and what am I getting myself into? she thought to herself, Teddy smirked at the Latina knowing her blonde friends perkiness might be the one thing that irks Callie to no end or might just grow on her. Shaking her head, Callie thought of a better plan, "Since we are going to my apartment anyways for the 'tour' how about I just cook you guys something?" Teddy frowned, "But after the day you had wouldn't you want to just take the night off and relax?" the dirty blonde said, trying to watch out for Callie as best she could, Owen of course had told Teddy the whole spill about the brunette losing patient after patient today.

Callie's eyes started to burn, thinking back to just hours prior, she shook her head and avoided eye contact... collecting herself she spoke, "No! it's okay I'm fine really I need something to do to keep me busy to keep my mind off of it," Teddy nodded but not without noticing the change in Callie's behavior. Arizona cleared her throat, "One thing to add to my resume as roomie is that I am a great listener," the blonde smiled this got a bark of laughter out of the Latina, "Oh good you're already one step ahead of Cristina she was a terrible listener," Arizona smiled at the comment, "So Callie, you cook?" the blonde changed the subject, the topic of food all caught their stomachs attentions, "I do, I make a mean Chicken Piccata," Callie gloated, taking pride in her work of art.. Culinary and Ortho were her two love languages after all.

"Guys! let's stop talking about food it's killing me!" Teddy whined, having tasted the delicious chicken with lemon-caper sauce before, the thought of a home cooked meal was starving her out.

Callie and Arizona laughed; tonight was going to be a good night.

Callie's 2-bedroom apartment was messy to say the least, having been in a rush night before, the Latina had clothes and boxes of lasts seasons decor strung out everywhere, "So... this is it!" the Latina threw out her hand motioning to her humble abode, Teddy and Arizona's eyes scurried around the living and kitchen area, "Ignore the mess I uh was in a hurry with the big emergency this morning and I had no time to clean this up," Callie laughed nervously, walking over to the kitchen area to grab 3 wine glasses and a bottle of red wine off the rack for the three of them. "If you saw how messy Arizona's room in my old house was..." Teddy started, Arizona cleared her throat glaring in the direction of her best friend, "Theodora! don't tell her that she'll deduct points from my resume!" Teddy scoffed, "You mean the same Callie Torres who had Cristina Yang as her roommate? the literal human form of the Tasmanian devil?" Arizona opened and closed her mouth trying to conjure up something to say. "Guys! guys! everyone makes messes, Cristina was the dirtiest roommate I ever had so I don't think anyone's ever going to outdo the doer," Callie said defending Arizona all the while agreeing with Teddy, she brought 2 glasses of red wine to the coffee table and sat them down on the red and black coasters that Mark had gotten Callie as a housewarming gift years ago, leave it to Mark to get one of the cheapest gifts out of everything in her entire apartment, the salary of a surgeon but the gift giving of a literal man child.

"Uh Callie?" Arizona asked, looking at Teddy who was snickering about God only knows what, "Yeah?" the Latina asked, drying her hands on the dish towel that was donning her shoulder. Arizona looked nervously between the two, Teddy knowing that Arizona absolutely despises red wine and Callie having not a clue in the world, "Arizona doesn't like Red wine," Teddy spoke for the blonde, Arizona gasped as if she was going to disagree with her best friend that knew everything single thing about her from her dislikes to her likes and even down to her childhood, "Oh I'm sorry I was just so used to everyone liking red that I didn't even think to ask," Callie apologized, returning the glass to the kitchen to replace it with white. "No, it's okay Callie, really, just blame Teddy it's her fault for not telling you much about me," Arizona teased, bumping her shoulder against the thinner woman, "Ugh I can't catch a break between the two of you," Teddy sighed, taking a gulp of the red wine that was much needed after a hard day of work. "Well get used to it because if everything works out and if Arizona likes the place, then I have no problem with her being my roommate!" Callie declared, looking over her shoulder she shot a wink at the blue-eyed woman who smiled back at her. Teddy took note of the exchange... oh boy did she dig herself into a hole, her best friend and her other friend ganging up on her, Teddy pretended to despise it but deep down she was secretly happy that the two hit it off so quickly despite their differing personalities, Callie dark and moody and Arizona a literal ball of sunshine.

As the night went on, Callie Arizona and Teddy all sat on the sectional enjoying a delicious home cooked meal by the Latina the three of them topping off their glasses of wine, chatting about how Teddy and Arizona both had served in the marines as medics and how Teddy had met Owen years prior stationed in Afghanistan. "Well, are you guys ready for dessert?" Callie asked, getting up from the sofa she gathered the three sets of dirty dishes, placing them in the sink, she turned around and stood at the kitchen bar. Not even a minute later, a pager started beeping 911 emergency... Teddy rummaged through her purse, finding the pesky device, she sighed "I'm sorry guys I have to go... my patient from the crash today... she..." Arizona and Callie both nodded collectively, "We understand" Callie spoke for the two of them. "I don't know if I can give you a ride back to my place to get your stuff tonight," Teddy said to Arizona, collecting her things she rushed to the door, "Don't worry about it she can stay the night in the guest room if she'd like and I can drive her over in the morning to get her things," Callie said, Arizona smiled and agreed, "Yeah Teds don't worry Callie and I will be just fine" Teddy smiled sadly at them, not wanting their night off to end, "Okay but don't eat too much dessert without me!" the woman threatened jokingly. The women laughed and said their goodbyes to Teddy.

Silence filled the apartment, "Okay so we've got banoffee pie..." Callie rummaged throughout the fridge, "oh and Cherry pie!" the Latina held out both pastries, sitting them down on the marbled countertop. Arizona joined Callie in the kitchen, taking a seat on one of the barstools she pulled herself up, rubbing her hands together excitedly, "Did you make these? they look awesome!" the blonde asked as she eyed the cherry dessert. The Latina chuckled, cutting a slice of the banoffee pie for herself and a slice of the cherry for Arizona. "I did make them; I love to bake in my free time and give desserts a way to coworkers and friends..." Callie shrugged as if it were no big deal, Arizona smiled in amazement then immediately frowned when the cherry pie slice was placed in front of her, "How did you...?" the blonde looked up at the Latina standing across from her on the other side of the bar slicing into her banana and toffee flavored pie, Callie smirked "I saw the way you were eyeing the cherry pie I just had a gut feeling," she shrugged, taking a small bite of the flaky dessert. Arizona giggled, "I can't help it I love all kinds of sweets," she said taking a quick bite of the pie, the blonde groaned, "Callie this is amazing! how could anyone ever move out of an apartment when their roomie cooks like this?" Arizona asked, Callie chuckled and shook her head, "You'd be surprised... the stories I could tell... absolute horror stories of roommates," she said as she took another bite of her pie, Arizona frowned at her words, "But I don't understand... you're an amazing cook, you're funny, you break bones for a living and dare I say that's bad ass!" the blonde raised her fork in the air, feeling a little livened up from the wine she had earlier at dinner, Callie choked on the piece of dessert, hitting her fist against her chest she cleared her throat, laughing at the perky woman, "Bad ass huh?" Callie tilted her head, scraping the rest of her plate clean, Arizona giggled as she took the last bite of the fruity pie, "yup! bad ass! I could never break bones and build them like... like..." the blonde threw her hands in the air in attempt to find the right words... Callie placed both plates into the sink, "Like God?" she supplied, Arizona's eyes grew wide, eagerly nodding her head in agreement. The two of them taking a seat back in the living room, Callie began to browse through channels and channels of garbage television, one in particular caught the blondes' eye, "Oh! that one!" she pointed at the screen, American bake off of all shows. "You like American bake off? I thought I was the only one!" Callie asked in excitement. Arizona nodded her head, "I haven't saw it in years, Tim Nick and I used to..." the blonde stopped in her tracks, not meaning to bring up such a personal detail so soon to her almost roommate.

Callie sensed the shift in mood, she muted the bakers on the tv, turning her attention to the blonde, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to ruin the moment I just... I miss my brother and Nick... they were by best friends, you know?" Arizona said, Callie nodded, tentatively reaching out a hand, her thumb grazed the back of the fairer woman's hand. Arizona shivered, her eyes filling up with tears. "No don't be sorry you have a right to miss the people you love," Callie smiled sadly at the blonde, wanting nothing but to take the sadness away. Tears rolled down the blonde's face, Callie frowned, "Hey... it's okay! you've got me I'm here you can watch American bake off with me," Arizona looked up at the Latina a small smile grazing her face, "yeah?" she asked quietly, crisscrossing her legs for comfort, turning her body towards the other woman. Callie nodded, "they will always be your number one watch buddy but I can watch it with you when they're not here," she rubbed her thumb once more over the back of Arizona hand, unbeknownst to her the real situation of Tim and Nick, Arizona pushed back the tears and smiled her dimpled smile and nodded her head, "okay yeah you're right.. thank you, Callie, you're the awesomest roomie ever," the blonde turned her attention towards the tv, Callie chuckled, "roomie? awesomest? please don't let those words make their way into my vocabulary," the Latina joked, Arizona feigned in fake shock, "Oh would that knock your badass level down a notch?" Arizona smarted off, already teasing and bantering with Callie like they had known each other for years and years. "It's already too high to knock down, but none of those words need to rub off on me... if Dr. Bailey catches me saying that she will use me in another one of her speeches," Callie shuttered, the blonde laughed at the Latina, "Oh Miranda Bailey, I've heard a few things about her, she sounds like one tough cookie," the Latina chuckled, "Oh you have no idea. Just don't let her hear you call her cookie," Callie smirked, unmuting the tv the sounds of the American bake-off show filled the room, Arizona made a mental note to never get on Dr. Baileys bad side.

Both women quietly watched the culinary show, making small talk here and there about the delicious desserts and Arizona pointing out which ones Callie should try her hand at making, the two talked and watched tv like they had known each other for years, really forming a bond between the both of them... maybe this roomie thing, as Arizona calls it, was meant to be after all.

Ch.2 Lets move it, move it, move it

The following morning, Callie and Arizona had fallen asleep on the sectional in the living room, the sun was shining as much as it could through the curtains that Callie had closed the night before, Arizona stretched her body... she was sore and stiff, grabbing her phone from the coffee table she had a few missed texts from the usual... her mom and some from Teddy, letting her know that she could come by anytime to pick up her stuff to move into Callie's apartment... the same Callie who was tossing and turning on the sectional while trying to get comfortable, Arizona got up from the couch... quietly she shook her roommate's shoulder, "Callie wake up we fell asleep watching American bake off," Arizona whispered, the Latinas eyes flew open, hair tousled from sleep, "what? who won?" Callie asked, her body rolled to the edge of the sofa, Arizona reached out but before she could grab her, the Latina had already rolled onto the floor but not without hitting the corner of the coffee table on the way down, "Callie!" Arizona gasped, looking down at the woman groaning in pain and grabbing at her left eye, "ow shit... what the hell?" Callie cried, trying to push herself up, Arizona quickly knelt down by her side, holding her still by her shoulder she inspected the wound on her roommate's face, "Oh Callie I'm so sorry," she apologized, above the Latina's left eye was a small cut oozing out blood... damn sharp coffee table, Callie shook her head and rubbed at her eyes, "No it's not your fault I toss and turn too much in my sleep... I should've braced for the fall more but I was more worried about who one that damn bake off," Callie shook her head, looking up into the blondes blue eyes, a worried look still on her face, "Arizona really it's no big deal it's probably just a cut.." the Latina touched her fingers to the edge of her plucked brow, blood coated her finger, Arizona quickly got up from the floor, "where's the first aid kit?" she looked around the kitchen eyeing the fire extinguisher and close by she saw a red and clear box ah-ha she thought, she grabbed the items and hurriedly went to Callie's aid, "Here let me.." Arizona rummaged, quickly moving the items around to find exactly what she needed… band-aids had fallen to the bottom and the ointment for cuts was almost empty.

"Mark was the last one to use that kit, you'd think after all the med school stuff and being a frickin doctor that he would know how to put stuff back in the right spot," Callie said as she rolled her eyes in annoyance, she loved Mark like a brother but boy was he the biggest pain in her ass... he borrowed things left and right from Callie's apartment and would never return them.

Arizona nodded in agreement, focused on putting a pair of gloves she squeezed some of the anti-biotic cream on a gauze pad the best she could.

"Sounds a lot like my brother... the colonel would scold us if we were disorganized," the blonde said as she began to clean and dress her roommates wound the best she could with what little ointment that this Mark guy left... he sounded like a real piece of work... she thought to herself, from the stories that Teddy had told and from the fights Teddys husband Owen had gotten into with Mark, Arizona had heard nothing but bad things about this guy.

Placing the small butterfly bandage on the cut, Arizona moved back a little to inspect her work.

"How do I look?" Callie asked, pretending to model off her bandage.

"You look like you just got patched up by a marine medic!" Arizona stated proudly, smiling at her handiwork... she still had it, not that she ever doubted for a second that she lost it, after-all one small cut was nothing in comparison to the hundreds if not thousands of wounded soldiers that she and Teddy worked on.

Callie rolled her eyes, trying hard to hide the smile on her face," Alright, if you say so roommate," she teased which caused Arizona to glare at her," It's roommie" she crossed her arms faking hurt. The Latina chuckled and shook her head, "there's no way I'm falling for that; I can't be caught using that word, remember?" She joked, Arizona shrugged her shoulders, "If you say so... I think it's going to start to grow on you, roomie" she said with a wink.

Callie laughed, she got up from the living room floor, holding a handout for the other woman, Arizona gladly accepted, after spending the night on the sectional, her body ached with stiffness. she grimaced at the feeling.

"Hey, are you okay?" Callie frowned, Arizona winced and grabbed at the back of her neck and shoulders the stiffened muscles shooting pain throughout her body... sleeping on the airplane and then sleeping on a couch was no-no.

"Yeah! Yeah, it's just my neck it's uh it's um stiff from plane... 12-hour flights are rough," Arizona said, smiling to reassure the Latina that she had nothing to worry about.

"Oh! Yeah 12 hours sounds like a nightmare," Callie shuddered at the thought, she dreaded the 5 hours of flying to the other side of the country to visit family for the holidays, the thought of a trip longer than that made Callie sympathetic to the blonde.

"Yeah, but now that I'm here I'm here for good so no more flights and no more hot burning deserts!" Arizona said, grabbing the first aid from the floor she found its spot she had hurriedly got it from moments before.

Callie followed her into the kitchen, filling up the coffee machine she turned it on and grabbed two cups and held them for Arizona to see," Coffee sound good?" the blonde groaned, "Yes please and extra sugar and cream" Callie laughed and nodded, "So dessert for breakfast... got it"

Arizona pouted like a child, sitting down at one of the barstools in the kitchen area, the Latina raised a brow, "why the sad face roomie?" The words left her mouth before she could stop them.

"Ah-ha!" the blonde pointed at the Latina, "It's growing on you... admit it" she held her finger out at the taller woman. Callie held her hands up in defense, "Freudian slip I swear!"

Arizona smirked at the woman's lame excuse.

"Sure roomie, that's what they all say"

Ch.3 It's the end of the world... as we know it?

It had been one whole month since Arizona Robbin's had moved in with Callie Torres, within the past few weeks the two roommates had talked hospital gossip, friend drama, watched movies and shows together with the most popular being American bake off of course.

Somehow the marine had talked Callie into redecorating the apartment to look more bright and inviting, Callie drew the line at her bedroom having an ounce of 'sunshine and rainbows' which is how the Latina found herself one night coming in late from work... surrounded by pastels and light colors.

"Arizona?" Callie called out, tossing a Rocco's pizza box on the island in the kitchen, she heard the blonde talking loudly on the phone, it was loud enough for the Latina to hear it from the threshold of the apartment door.

"NO! Damnit mom no... you and dad cannot come over for thanksgiving it's- "

"Arizona!" The colonel shouted, making the blonde feel like she was 5 years old again when she would color on the walls of the many houses the Robbin's family lived in over the years, with Daniel Robbin's on active duty, the family of 4 never stayed in one place for too long.

"Dad- Colonel- I-"Arizona stuttered, pacing back in forth in her room, embarrassed that Callie was probably hearing every single word she was saying.

"Arizona, your mother and I are coming and that's final," Daniel sternly said, Arizona's mother whispered something to the man, he reluctantly handed the phone back to Barbra.

Arizona shook her head and sighed, knowing good and well if Tim was here, they would all be spending the holiday with their parents in Minnesota instead of their parents coming to see them.

"I know you don't have anywhere for us to stay honey, so I asked Teddy- "

"Mom! You can't just- "

"I asked her if she knew of a good hotel to stay at, she offered to let us stay with her and her family instead," Barbara said reassuringly, Arizona rolled her eyes and sighed in defeat, "so you guys are coming in on Wednesday?" She twiddled her thumbs as she set on the edge of her bed waiting for her mother to answer.

"Tuesday," her mom corrected, Arizona's eyes shot open, praying to whoever that was listening that her mom was kidding.

After a long pause Barbara added, "Teddy and I have to thanksgiving prep, we're having the dinner at her and… Owen, is it?" She looked to Daniel who nodded gruffly at his wife, "Thanksgiving at Teddy and Owen's on Thursday at 6" Barbara smiled, eager to see her daughter and Teddy after all these months.

"Okay I'll be there... but wait- Teddy doesn't cook," Arizona rebutted

Barbara scoffed into the phone, "Arizona! Neither do you!" She shook her head at Daniel, not knowing why her daughter was acting so defiant.

"Yeah, yeah..." Arizona mumbled, not wanting to hear the whole spill of the countless times she failed to make the simplest of recipes in her college dorm.

"Well, we got to get off here it's getting late hon, please don't forget to bring your roommate along. Your father and I would love to meet her," Barbara gushed, having heard some stories from Teddy about Callie before, she was playing match maker in her head hoping that Cupid would make the two women fall for one another.

"I can't promise anything, I'll check and see but she might have plans with family," Arizona fibbed, having known that Callie was not on speaking terms with her family after they disowned her for a reason unknown to the blonde.

"Well let us know... we've got to go, see you Tuesday we love you and please stay safe," Barbara said.

"Okay, I love you guys too... I always do," she assured her mother, the thought of them nosing around in Seattle irked her but they were still her parents, and she was their only child left, making it hard on the elder Robbin's couple to have an ease of mind.

After a few more I love You's and goodbyes, Arizona hung up the phone and checked the time... shit! 30 minutes had passed by, she had told Callie earlier that day that the two of them should have a movie night with pizza.

Rushing into the living room, the blonde looked to the couch... Callie had barely made it to the seat with the pizza box, her head tossed back, and eyes were closed, Arizona heard the soft snores coming from the other woman.

"Callie..." Arizona said tentatively, reaching out for the box of pie, brown eyes shot open and clutched the cardboard," My pizza!" Callie shouted; Arizona giggled at the wide-eyed look on her roommate's face.

"wha-what time is it? Oh, the pizza! Oh, and the movies!" Callie tossed the box aside, reaching for a stack of DVDs to show Arizona. The blonde shook her head in amusement, Callie gave her a puzzled look, "What? What's so funny?"

Arizona sighed, "nothing I was just having a shitty afternoon until this..." she motioned at the stack of movies and the cold pizza and her roommate. Thoughts of the phone call with her parents soon left her mind, Callie was good at helping Arizona forget about how bad of a day she was having... Callie just made everything better. The blonde's cheeks flushed, stifling back laughter.

Callie yawned, eyes watering she looked at the time, Arizona was in a heated phone call when Callie had brought the pizza home not long ago, she remembered, while waiting and trying not to pry, she accidentally dozed off on the couch.

"Oh why?" Callie asked dumbly

Arizona rolled her eyes, "oh come on Callie don't act like you didn't hear"

"What? No! I mean I heard some yelling, but I closed my eyes and next thing I know the pizzas cold the movies not been picked out and and- "

"Callie!" Arizona cut her off, Callie furrowed her brow, "What?"

"WillyougowithmetoTeddysforthanksgiving next week?" The blonde said in a mumble... Callie looked at her roommate as if she had two heads, "all I heard was Teddys and next week, Arizona are you okay?" The Latina asked, Arizona sighed and sat down beside her and shook her head, she felt completely drained and dreaded facing her family alone next week.

"My mom called to tell me that thanksgiving will be at Teddys and Owen's next week at 6," Arizona mumbled looking down at her feet and then back up at her roommate.

"Oh well that's good... that's good right?" Callie asked dumbfounded.

"No-no it's not good... my mom told me to ask you to come also," Arizona said.

"Arizona if you don't feel comfortable with me coming with you to thanksgiving-"

"No! that's not it at all!" The blonde said, Callie frowned not knowing where her friend was going with this, "I want you to but if you have plans it's totally okay," Arizona reassured.

Callie chuckled, "Oh you had me worried there for a second, roommie" she teased and threw a wink at the blonde, Arizona flushed in embarrassment.

"I don't have any plans, Mark and I usually have a little get-together at his place but with the whole Lexie thing I don't think he's going to have thanksgiving this year," Callie said, the mention of Marks name making Arizona want to gag... he was such a man whore... how could a nice person like Callie be friends with a prick like Mark Sloan?

"Perfect! So, you're free Thursday at 6?" the blonde asked, perking up a little as the hate for Mark Sloan slowly dissipated... not as whole but for the time being the thought of that man left Arizona's mind.

"Yeah... unless something comes up with work, I'll definitely be there," Callie said, Arizona thought back to the conversation with her mother about thanksgiving prep... shit the thanksgiving prep, Teddy doesn't know how to cook and...

"I burn mac n cheese!" the blonde yelped, Callie jumped back at the sudden outburst laughing at her poor roommate... over the past month Arizona had told Callie countless of times that she had messed up in the kitchen. one time even boiling water so long that it evaporated into nothingness. Cristina had also been a terrible cook, the Latina could remember back when Yang would sit on the counter tops in the kitchen scarfing down dry cereal like a ravenous animal, burning toast, begging the Latina to leave her some leftovers in the fridge... Callie did not miss that at all.

"You want me to Thanksgiving prep with your mom, don't you?" Callie smirked, guessing what the blonde was thinking had become so easy.. nothing was ever a secret, all of Arizona's thoughts were most of the time written all over her face.

Arizona opened and closed her mouth, "How did you...?"

Callie shrugged, "There's a lot of food to make, I'd say your mom needs help and by help I don't mean burnt mac n cheese and evaporated water and I have seen Teddy feed her kids she gives them freezer food or microwavable meals unless Owen's home."

"Damn you're good" Arizona pointed out, Callie chuckled at the blonde, "what can I say? you're easy to read and Teddy is.. Teddy"

"Hey I'll have you know I am not as easy as you think I am!" Arizona defended herself, not caring about the Teddy is Teddy part because, well, Callie was right Teddy Altman was just Teddy Altman.

Callie grabbed the box of cold restaurant pizza, getting up off the couch, "Hmm okay let me guess what we're going to watch tonight since you're miss. not easy to read"

Arizona stared at the woman challengingly as if to say 'bring it'

Callie tapped her finger against her chin, pretending to ponder, over the last month she learned that Arizona was in to Disney movies and rom-coms and when the Latina had asked 'what about horror or slasher movies?' Arizona had shuddered at the question. Knowing that Disney had numerous upon numerous of movie titles, Callie decided to play it safe and choose from a popular Rom-com off the top of her head... she remembered growing up that her sister and she would watch them... Aria would watch them for the guys, but Callie had secretly enjoyed both counterparts.

She's all that, the proposal, 10 things I hate about you... Callie listed in her mind, Arizona stared at her roommate, crossing her arms waiting for Callies answer.

"Times a ticking!" Arizona smirked.

Callie raised her brow, confidently locking in her answer like she was on an episode of jeopardy, "Never been kissed!" she said, sending Arizona a curve ball knowing that it was a common romantic comedy, but most people choose 10 thing I hate about you or she's all that over poor Josie Grossie.

"No fair! I thought you'd never guess that!" Arizona whined.

"Face it woman I know you," Callie boasted, sticking her tongue out as if to say, 'in your face'.

Arizona sighed in defeat, looking through the stack of DVDs on the coffee table while Callie was on a mission to reheat their classic cheese pizza from Rocco's

'hmm' the blonde thought.. the notebook? fifty first dates?.. "Who knew Callie Torres was such a romantic!" Arizona held up the cases, teasing her roommate.. Callie was not one to show her soft side. "Hey you can't blame a girl for liking a good romance movie," the Latina defended, sitting down two plates of pizza and two glasses of wine, the beverage of choice for every movie or tv show night the pair had.

Arizona nodded her head, below the stack of the various genres of movies was a clear cd case with the name 'The sound of music' written on the front and 'Miami Dade College 2002' written underneath. "What's this?" the blonde innocently asked, holding a tape that Callie must've mistakenly pulled out from her bookshelf. Callie's eyes grew wide, reaching for the cd, "Give me that!" she lunged, Arizona backed up and got off the couch, putting the disk in the air, "No tell me what it is" she teased, wiggling the offending item above her head.

Callie stood up, facing Arizona she reached as best as she could... Arizona would not budge, moving the disk behind her back, "Fine it's a musical, okay? I was in a drama class in high school and through college..." Callie huffed out, Arizona raised her eyebrows in curiosity, pulling the interesting cd from behind her, looking at the back of the disk case, it read: 'starring Calliope Torres as Maria and Nicholas Haydn as Captain Georg Von Trapp' before she could read anything else, the Latina grabbed the embarrassing memory from the blonde's hands and threw it on the couch.

"Hey, why'd you do that for? I was reading that... Calliope!" Arizona teased, shocked to see Callie's face turn red.

"It's embarrassing Arizona," Callie glared, nearly turning the color of a tomato at the thought of her at the age of 20 years old singing with sleazebag Nicholas, the guy was an absolute nightmare to be on stage with... from his cocky attitude to his prideful demeanor, now that she recalls, the douchebag was a lot like Mark Sloan but younger and a rich brat.

"Wait did you just call me.."

"Calliope" Arizona repeated, tilting her head, smiling innocently.

"Arizona! no one calls me that except my family," the Latina grumbled.. secretly liking the way it sounded coming from her roommate.. stop thinking like that Torres she's just a friend, nothing more and nothing less.

"But I like it, it's a pretty name" Arizona stated matter of fact.

"It means beautiful-voiced," Callie cringed inside, she felt as if she stuck her own foot in her mouth when the next thing Arizona said was..

"Oh! we have to watch to this then! I bet you were awesome in this musical, I had no idea you could sing!" Arizona said excitedly, not one to disappoint the blonde, Callie caved in almost immediately she didn't know what it was that was consuming her but she felt as if she would do anything and everything to see Arizona happy and if watching a crappy college musical from 2002 was what her roommate wanted then that's what her roommate was going to get.

Popping in the disk, the two women sat down with their plates full of pizza, munching on a slice and sipping on their wine glasses... scene after scene showing Callie and this Nicholas guy on stage performing... Arizona began to feel weird seeing this nick guy kissing on maria... Callie... oh whatever. It felt wrong. "Is it horrible of me to say that I cannot stand that guy playing Georg?" Arizona asked, chewing on her pizza, Callie chuckled... sitting her wine glass down on the coffee table, "No uh he was an absolute terror to be around" Arizona perked up, "Oh please do tell" she said, wanting a real reason to give this guy hatred.

Callie paused the musical, sighing she looked at Arizona and then looked at the paused screen of maria and Georg and the von Trapp's finally escaping Austria at the end of the play.

"Well Nicholas and I really didn't get along.." the Latina started, Arizona nodded her head waiting for Callie to continue.. here goes nothing.. Callie thought to herself.

"Nicholas came from a really wealthy family and he lived life as if he was entitled to everything, he got all the lead male roles in the plays at Miami Dade and everyone hated him for it. His dad donated money to the school to get his kid anything he wanted." Callie explained to Arizona, the blonde frowned, "What a dick" she said, Callie laughed and nodded her head, "Yep it even went as far as Nicholas thinking he could 'get in my pants' one day after rehearsal, I was in my dressing room and I had mistakenly left the door unlocked and Nicholas came up from behind me.. his breath reeked of alcohol.. he tried to force me up against the vanity but I fought like hell to get him off me, I broke his nose and his father tried to sue my father.. it was a mess," Callie took a long sip of her wine, holding the base of the glass she swirled the red liquid around.

"Wow.." the blonde shook her head, wiping her hands on a napkin, Callie cleared her throat and kept on going, "There uh.. there was another instance where Nicholas had called me a slur.. he found out that I liked both men and women and he tried his best to have me re-casted a week before the musical was supposed to open up to the public," Callie laughed bitterly, "He um.. he went to my father-" her voice broke, Arizona noticed the sudden change of Callie's demeanor, she placed a hand on her friends arm and ran her fingers up and down to soothe Callie, "Calliope you don't- you don't have to keep going," Arizona said sympathizing with her.

"No, I want to... I have to," Callie corrected herself, "You're one of my best friends you deserve to know the full story" Arizona smiled sadly and nodded for her to continue, "Anyway he uh, he went to my father and he outed me" tears began to stream down the Latinas face, remembering the horror of her father screaming and threatening to take everything away from her if what Nicholas said was true.. Arizona gasped, holding Callie's hand for comfort, "Callie I am so sorry... that should have never happened to you," the blonde said with tears filling her blue eyes. Callie nodded her head and sniffled, "I know it's just... um... remember when I told you that my family doesn't want anything to do with me?" Arizona nodded her head, "I do" the blonde said preparing for Callie to say what she thought she was going to say.

"It's because I told my dad what Nicholas said was true and I can never forget it... my father screaming at me and shunning me from the whole family... my sister standing there watching my dad belittle me and doing nothing about it, my mom crying and not wanting to speak to me," Callie broke down... she wasn't over the pain her family had caused her, she would probably never be over it unless they decided to come around and be in her life again... she was a successful doctor for Gods sakes she was a respectful, kind, loving human being.

Arizona looked down, tears rolling down her face, she too knew what it was like to be called slurs and to be hated for who she was.

"c'mere," the blonde said softly, holding her arms out for Callie... the broken woman sighed, accepting the embrace from her roommate, Callie whimpered in defeat... tears soaking through Arizona's pajama shirt, the blonde rubbed her hands up and down Callie's back... her cries becoming silent.

"Callie there's nothing wrong with you, your family is missing out on an amazing person... you're an awesome friend, your kind and you're a bad ass ortho doc who wears her heart on her sleeve... on the outside you look like this tough shell of a person but on the inside, you are the kindest soul I've ever met... I'm so glad I got to meet you and be friends with you and become roomies with you," Arizona whispered, running her fingers through the long locks of Callie's hair. The blonde felt a smile against the crook of her neck, breaking away from the embrace, Arizona smiled at Callie... both women having tear-stained faces.

"You mean all of that?" Callie asked, feeling ashamed of her past and all that she had been through, never had she met someone who could understand her as much as Arizona Robbins could.

"With all my heart," Arizona nodded, smiling a dimpled smile at her friend.

Callie sighed, "I don't know what I'd do without you.. Roomie"

"Me neither, Calliope" Arizona smiled and shook her head at the Latina, Callie frowned, "What? do I have something on my face?" she wiped at her tear-stained cheeks.

"No you just.. you called me roomie!" Arizona gushed, Callie rolled her eyes, her nose red like Rudolph's, "You called me Calliope stop that" she accused, pointing a finger at the blonde.

"I can't help it, it's a beautiful name and the definition was right by the way.. you have a beautiful voice," Arizona winked at a flustered Callie Torres, loving every second of the teasing and pestering.

Callie couldn't help but to smile at the compliment. secretly falling for Arizona Robbins, unbeknownst to her, Arizona was feeling the same way.

Maybe it's not the end of the world as we know it after all.

Ch.4 Turkey Day but the family can't stay away

A week had flown by, the dreaded arrival of the Arizona's parents was now just hours away, the blonde was running around like a crazy person in attempt to get everything just right for her mom and dad's stay in Seattle.

Teddy, unfortunately, had been called in for an emergency surgery which left Arizona in charge of picking up her parent's instead, but there was one teeny tiny problem... well, one giant problem. Since the blonde had moved to the busy city, she had made no attempts in getting a car, she was within walking distance of Seattle Grace, her first day back as a doctor would be the first week of December. Arizona was excited to go back but at the same time nervous after being off work for so long.

2 hours until they arrive... Arizona checked her watch, pacing back and forth in her and Callie's apartment, her roommate was supposed to be home any minute now. Arizona had asked Callie for a ride to the airport to get her mom and the Colonel, she remembered the Latina mentioning before that she had a car that her father had given her as a birthday gift not long before her family had cut her off completely. Callie barley drove the car, she kept it in good condition for times of need like today.

Callie opened the door to the apartment, slamming it shut behind her, she ripped the gloves from her frozen hands and dusted off the snow from her precious leather jacket... her baby.

Arizona jumped at the sound, "Oh, good! your home!" she sighed in relief.

"I hate snow... God, why does it have to snow today of all days?" Callie grumbled; Arizona giggled at the Latina's misfortunes; the blonde grabbed her fluffy winter coat, scarf and blue beanie.

Callie was still focused on drying her jacket from the snow that had hit her on the way inside the apartment building, looking up at Arizona she couldn't help but smile at how dorky the blonde looked with every inch of her body covered for a thin dusting of snow that awaited them outside the four walls.

"You ready to go marshmallow?" Callie teased; Arizona smacked the taller woman on the shoulder, "Hey! watch the leather!" Callie rubbed the spot as if to soothe her precious jacket.

"Don't call me a marshmallow if you don't want to get hit, Calliope" Arizona deadpanned, Callie furrowed her brow, "What's gotten into you, Arizona?"

"My parents, that's what" Arizona grumbled in annoyance, Teddy was oh so lucky to be working instead of chauffeuring the elder Robbins couple around.

"Hey, it's going to be okay... you're not doing this alone, you've got your roommie with you, remember?" Callie tugged on the scarf around the blonde's neck in attempts to cheer the woman up.

Arizona scowled, "let's just get this over with... and please just look over what they say."

"Come on, I can't wait to meet the people who raised the awesomest roomie I've ever had," Callie grinned, this caused the scowl to fall off the blonde's face and a small smile grazed her cheeks.

"Ah-ha! see? there's that smile!" Callie winked; Arizona rolled her eyes, she couldn't help it, the Latina was just that good at turning her bad days into good days.

"Yeah, yeah let's just -" Arizona looked down at her wristwatch, "Shit! Cal, we got an hour till their flight lands"

Callie handed her leather gloves to Arizona... the blonde looked at her quizzically, "We've got to go!"

"I know that but here please take these it's 30 degrees outside your hands will freeze like icicles."

Arizona mumbled something inaudible about 30 degrees not being THAT cold, she put the leather gloves on her hands to please her friend, they were still warm from the Latinas tanned skin.

Callie smiled at the blonde all bundled up ready to go, "Alright operation get Arizona's parents... immense!"

Arizona giggled at the Latina's silliness, the two of them headed out the door...here goes nothing.

Callie and Arizona made it to Seattle airport with 20 minutes to spare, the whole ride there the blonde couldn't stop talking about how cool she thought Callie's car was.

An old school thunderbird, the Latina didn't like the term old school, "Call it badass, old school is for the elderly" Callie had said, Arizona faked a salute to the woman who in return rolled her eyes at the blonde's antics.

If Tim were here, he would be drooling over that car. Arizona remembered a time where she and Tim fixed up old muscle cars with the colonel when the Robbins family was living in Nebraska, Tim had always told Arizona that someday he would get his very own Mustang. Arizona remembered hitting her brother on the shoulder and telling him... in your dreams Timmy. The irony behind that memory... it was indeed just a dream of Tim's.

"Arizona!" A voice called out, stirring the blonde from her thoughts, Callie patted her on the knee, Arizona looked back at the Latina with a small smile.

"Mom!" the blonde got up from the uncomfortable airport seat, running to her parents, Barbara and Daniel both wheeling suitcases and wearing their winter coats.

"Oh, it's so good to finally hug you again," Barbara all but squeezed the blonde to death.

Daniel stood back, unshed tears in his eyes as he watched his wife and daughter embrace.

"Mom... you're hugging me too tight," Arizona said breathlessly.

"Oh, hush! this is the first time I've seen you in months!" Barbara Robbins scolded, backing away from the hug she held her daughters face in her hands, trying to soak in every detail of her baby girl, Arizona rolled her eyes, "We've got to get going we have a dinner to prep for, remember?"

Barbra scoffed, not liking her daughter's attitude one bit, Daniel stepped up before the older woman could start anything with their child.

"Arizona Robbins, do not speak to your mother that way," Daniel said sternly, not caring who heard him, no matter his child's age he demanded that they give both him and their mother respect at all times. Timothy had always been respectful but Arizona was the opposite.

Arizona winced, authority issues kicking in, her childhood trauma... times when the Colonel would intervene during fights that the Robbins siblings would have had all the sudden clouded her memory, it made her feel like a small child again.

"I'm sorry mom... it's so good to see the both of you, thank you guys for coming," Arizona tried to smooth over.

Daniel Robbins cleared his throat, expecting more than that from his little girl.

" -And I am sorry for how I treated you guys on the phone last week, you and dad were just trying to get us all together again for the holidays and I realize that now," Arizona said in the sincerest voice she could muster.

Barbara looked over at her husband, Daniel nodded as if to say it was okay to accept this apology from their daughter now that they had humiliated this grown 30-year-old woman in the middle of the busy airport and in front of Callie who watched the whole encounter with a small grimace on her face.

"Arizona it's okay, we just are so happy to be here with you for Thanksgiving... aren't we Daniel?"

the man nodded his head, still keeping an eye on his daughter's attitude.

"I am too and uh there's someone I brought with me, someone you guys wanted to meet," Arizona motioned the two to follow her, Barbara was more so excited than Daniel because well he was the Colonel, not much excited that man.

Callie stood up from her seat, feeling a little nervous at the anticipation, Arizona looked at her roommate and gave her a dimple smile which calmed Callie's nerves.

"Mom, Dad this is my roommate Calliope," Arizona said, Callie cringed at the use of her first name.

" - and Calliope, these are my parents Barbara and Daniel Robbins," Arizona smiled as she watched the three most important people in her life meet for the first time, no matter how annoyed or aggravated the blonde would get at her parents; at the end of the day, she needed them the most in her life and now she was beginning to need Callie just as much.

"Hi! it's so nice to meet you, Barbara and Daniel, Arizona has told me nothing but good things," Callie assured them, trying to best to win brownie points with Arizona's parents.

"Oh, look at you!" Barbara Robbins gushed at how beautiful and well-spoken Arizona's roommate was.

The Latina's face flushed, embarrassed at the attention she was getting.

"You guys can call me Callie... Arizona and my parents are the only ones who really call me Calliope," Callie explained to the couple.

"Well Callie it is so nice to finally meet you! Teddy has told me so much about you," Barbara winked at the taller woman, Callie laughed nervously, looking to Arizona for help.

"Mom! Dad! uh how about we bust out of here? it's..." Arizona looked down at her watch, they had been talking for almost an hour at this point, "- 3pm oh we got to go"

"Oh dear, Daniel call a taxi for us," Barbara told her husband, he pulled his phone out but before he could dial the number, Callie spoke up; "Actually there's no need for a cab, I brought Arizona here in my car"

Barb smiled at the Latina, "Oh thank you Callie but you didn't have to," she said.

"Of course, and yes anything for Arizona and her parents," Callie smiled at the Robbins couple, Daniel of course was unimpressed, Barbara smiled ear to ear and Arizona stood back watching everyone.

"Alright let's get this show on the road then, shall we?" Arizona asked, leading her parents and roommate out of the busy airport and out to the parking lot.

On the way home from the store, Callie and Arizona rode in the front of the thunderbird while Arizona's parents insisted on having the back seat. Luggage tucked away, laps full of groceries since Callies car was packed full.

"So, Callie, you like vintage cars?" Daniel asked, Arizona looked over at the Latina who was focused on getting them all safely to Teddys place. The blonde smiled and nodded her head as if to encourage her roommate to make small talk with her father, which was rare, Daniel never gave any of Arizona's or Tim's friends the time of day... it was always Barbara making the kids company feel welcome and at home.

"Uh.. yeah this car was actually a gift from my father," Callie said, glancing into the rear-view mirror, Daniel's eyes piercing blue back at her.

"Your father?" The older man was surprised.

Callie nodded, "Yeah my daddy always took me to car shows in Miami when I was a kid, I got die cast cars after every show.. he told me once I was older that he would get me my very own vintage car," she smiled at the memory of her father, Carlos Torres, sitting her down after every show and reaching behind his back to give his little girl a toy car just like the ones they had saw in person... she missed that version of her dad, the verison that did everything he could to make her happy.

"He sounds like a great man, any father who spends time with his children is a good man," Daniel said, respectfully.

"Yes.. yes he is," Callie said sadly, Arizona looked over at the Latina, Callie noticed and shook her head as if to say nows not the time. Arizona frowned, wanting to help comfort her roommate but felt as if she was being pushed away.

Silence filled the car as Callie turned on to Teddys road, passing by the neighboring houses, she pulled her car into the blacktopped driveway, making sure not to block Owen's truck.

One by one the robbins family and Callie got out of the vehicle, Daniel grabbed the bags of groceries while Callie popped the trunk to retrieve the elder couples luggage.

"Need some help?" a voice called out, walking from around the side of the house.

Callie jumped, almost throwing the suitcases at the intruding voice. "God, Owen you scared me!"

Arizona and her parents watched the latina and the red headed man, amused at the interaction.

"Sorry," Owen said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.. he looked over to Arizona and whom he assumed had to be her parents who bared a striking resemblance to the blonde.. needless to say, the Robbins genes were strong.. all blonde's with blue eyes.

"You must be Mr and Mrs Robbins," Owen smiled at the couple, Daniel glared at the man.. Callie and Arizona stiffled their laughter at Owen who was scared shitless of the older man.

"Yes! and you must be Owen? Teddys husband," Barbara smiled, Owen felt a sense of relief from the older ladys warm and friendly demeanor.

"In the flesh, it's nice to meet you two, Teddy should be home any minute now.." Owen looked at his watch, scratching the back of him head, " - I'll leave it up to these two to show you around," the man said, pointing at Callie and Arizona.

"Nice meeting you!" Barbara waved at the retreating man, nudging her glaring husband on the shoulder, "Daniel you scared Teddys husband" she hissed.

"Barb it's a test and you know it, that man didn't pass," Daniel walked up the driveway with bags in tow, Barbara following behind.

"What about Callie? Did she pass?" Arizona asked innocently, rolling a suitcase in one hand. Callie looked down at the ground, too afraid of what Arizonas dad would say, who could blame Owen for running off? Daniel scared the shit out of her as well.

"You know what sweetpea? Yeah Callie passed," Daniel said, opening the door to the house, Callie smiled at the older man, Daniel nodded his head respectfully in return.

"What? Seriously? No one ever passes!" Arizona gasped, Barbara rolled her eyes at her daughter, "Arizona, that's because everyone of Timmys friends were mean and you.. well you never really brought anyone home, no friends or dates," Barbara took her shoes and coat off.

Callie smirked at the blonde, "So, I'm number 1?"

Arizona scoffed, "Oh don't get the big head, Calliope!"

Barbara and Daniel watched the two women bicker playfully back and forth, never seeing Arizona so comfortable around another person besides her brother, Nick and Teddy.

Barbara looked at Daniel with a glint in her eye, he could tell exactly what she was thinking, he shrugged his shoulder's. "We just have to wait and see how this plays out," he said in a low whisper, never taking his eyes off Arizona who was talking and laughing with the Latina.

"I'm telling you Daniel, she's got to be the one. Arizona just doesn't know it yet," Barbara said with confidence.

Barbara Robbins was almost never wrong.

As the day went on, Arizona stayed in the living room watching a Christmas movie while her mom and Callie worked in the kitchen; brining the Thanksgving turkey, cutting up vegetables to go inside of the bird. Barbara was so ecstatic when she was told that Callie would be helping out in the kitchen. As someone who always cooked solo, the older woman and the Latina moved around the kitchen, it first started out as Barbara leading the two but seeing how good Callie was, Barb decided to step back and let the young woman take over.

"Where did you learn to cook?" Arizona's mom asked, amazed at Callie's homemade cranberry sauce, was oh so guilty of buying the premade stuff every year, it did the job but was no where near as good as the sauce on the tasting spoon that Callie had held out for Barbara to try.

"I learned from.. cooking shows and my mother," Callie said.

"Well you ought to show my Arizona some of those cooking skills," Barb winked at the Latina, she held the spoon between her fingers and tasted the red sauce. "This is wonderful! This is going to pair so well with everything," Barb complimented, Callie thanked the elder woman and smiled.

Arizona was in her own little world watching buddy the elf taking on NYC in search for his father. Callie watched her from the kitchen, the blonde wrapped up in a blanket... giggling at the movie. God how could someone be so adorable but so attractive at the same time? Callie thought.

Barbara looked up from her cutting board, noticing Callie stare at her daughter, hearing a little voice in her head telling her not to play match maker but she couldn't help it.. "Callie, dear, why don't you just take a break and go keep my Arizona company," Barbara asked, grinning at the Latina.

Callie blushed, "I uh um are you sure?"

Barbara nodded her head quickly, motioning for her to go to the woman.

"Thank you," Callie said sheepishly, Barbara smirked, those two can't hide their feeling for one another. She chopped vegetables and turned around to the stove to give the two women some privacy.

Callie joined her roommate in the living room, sitting down next to Arizona. "Hey, you" the Latina smiled at the blonde, Arizona unaware that Callie had joined her, she tore her eyes from the screen and looked at the Latina.

"Hey," Arizona whispered back, eyes glued back on the elf movie. Callie shook her head with a grin on her face, "What ya watching there, Roommie?" She teased.

"Elf," the blonde responded quickly, watching the snowball fight on screen. Callie tugged on the blanket that was covering her friend, Arizona looked at the Latina and without a second thought she covered some of Callie with the throw.

"This is nice," Callie snuggled closer into the couch, trying her best not to touch Arizona by accident.

The blonde smirked, "Y'know you can get closer, Calliope... I don't bite," Arizona teased.

"What about your mom-"

"- what about my mom? She's in her element she doesn't know what's going on she's too focused on prepping," Arizona reassured Callie, taking a leap of faith, the blonde scooted as close as she could to Callie, both women's hearts were racing, "Is this, okay?" Arizona innocently asked, batting her lashes at a swooned Callie.

"Y-yeah," Callie started to grow hot, cheeks flushed. This didn't go unnoticed by the blonde, "If you feel uncomfortable I can-"

"No!" Callie whisper-yelled, Arizona giggled and laid her head on her friend's shoulder, "You're so cozy, Calliope," the Latina could feel Arizona smile under the crook of her tanned skin.

"Thanks," Callie smirked, nuzzling her cheek into the top of the blonde's hair. Arizona sighed and the two watched the rest of the Christmas movie play out.

Maybe Thanksgiving with her parents wouldn't be so bad after all.

Tuesday had come to pass, Wednesday went by in the blink of an eye. Thursday was here. Thanksgiving dinner was hours away, Arizona had taken a taxi to Teddy and Owens house to help set up for the dinner that night. Unfortunately, Callie had got called in to work... she tried her best to get out of it but couldn't, Arizona understood but was still disappointed that of all days the Latina was needed at work it just had to be this day.

"I'll be back in time for dinner, I promise," Callie crossed her heart, Arizona rolled her eyes and laughed at her roommate's silliness, "Okay, okay I believe you Callie," the blonde smiled at the Latina. She watched her leave the apartment hours ago and now she waited for Callie's return, sitting at Teddy and Owens dining room table, Barb had passed out coloring pages and crayons to Teddy's kids to keep them occupied, they begged Arizona to join them, how could she refuse? Her sweet niece and nephew, giving her the biggest sets of puppy dog eyes she had ever seen.

"Okay, okay but just one coloring page!" Arizona caved, earning a chorus of 'yay's' from little Leo and Allison.

Teddy and Owen had adopted Leo a few years ago, he was 5 and growing like a weed, Arizona mainly got to see the kids over facetime. Allison was 2 years younger than her older brother; the two sibling's interactions and their mannerism's reminded Arizona so much of how her and Tim used to butt heads. She missed her brother so much, they had each other their whole childhoods no matter how many different schools the two of them had to switch to. Arizona could remember a time where Tim got in fights with kids who picked on his little sister, they would pull her pigtails and call her a baby. There was one instance even where Tim had given a kid a black eye for calling his sister a bad name.

Arizona watched her niece and nephew, sharing crayons and coloring the best they could, not being able to stay inside of the lines. With a smile on her face, the blonde focused on her turkey, coloring it with wild colors instead of the classic brown, red, yellow, orange that Leo and Allison were doing.

"Aunt Zona, that looks silly!" Leo giggled; Allison looked up from her page and joined in with the giggles.

Arizona pouted at the two kids, "But you guys, it's supposed to be a girl turkey!" she pointed to the pink and purple feathers on the cartoon bird. There was no talking the two children into thinking that her turkey was cool, she smiled at the two bubbly children. A knock at the door stirred Arizona from her thoughts, "I'll get it!" she said, bouncing to the door with a pep in her step. Opening the door, revealing Callie... she looked exhausted, wearing her leather jacket and dark washed jeans and a red top.

"Calliope! you're here! yay!" the blonde cheered, a dimpled smile curing the Latina's tired and drained spirit.

"I told you I'd make it," Callie smiled, Arizona led her friend into the dining room where Leo and Allison were still busy coloring.

"Guys! look who I found!" Arizona said to the children, Leo and Alison looked up from their messy coloring pages, the two children hurriedly got down from the chairs, "Callie!" they shouted, almost knocking the Latina down as each kid hugged the woman's legs. Leo and Allison had met Callie a couple of times and they had immediately grown attached to her, Callie even baby sat for Teddy and Owen once when they both were called into the hospital for an emergency.

"Woah-" Callie chuckled, stumbling a little from the sudden hold the children had on her.

"Hey guys!" she ran her hands over the tops of the kid's heads, two sets of hazel eyes looked up at the Latina, Callie's heart melted... she loved kids, Arizona watched in awe at the sight of little Leo and Allison tugging on the woman's hands.

"Aunt Callie come look..." Leo said, Allison mimicked her brother by pulling on Callies other hand. The children showed Callie what they had colored, "These are awesome you guys!" Callie cooed, Leo and Allison smiled and prided themselves in their handiwork.

"What are you guys supposed to say...?" Arizona asked

"Oh, thank you Aunt Callie!" Leo remembered, smiling ear to ear, Allison nodded her head and with her little voice she thanked Callie as well.

"You're welcome," she smiled, Leo grabbed a third coloring page off the table and handed it to Callie, ratting out Arizona, "Zona colored one too!"

"She did?" Callie glanced at the coloring page; Leo nodded his head, Teddy and Owen called the children into the other room before Leo could tell on Arizona some more.

The blonde's face flushed with embarrassment, "It's supposed to be a pretty girl turkey!" she explained. Callie laughed and nodded her head, "Yeah uh I can see that it's very pretty, all she's missing is some lipstick," Callie teased, Arizona rolled her eyes and took the paper from her roommate's hands. Thinking back to earlier this morning, how Callie dreaded leaving the apartment to go into work today, Arizona asked, "How was your day today?"

Callie shook her head, "Not good, do you remember the patient I told you about the other day?"

Arizona nodded her head; she could sense a shift in her friend's mood, "How about we go talk about this upstairs?"

Callie felt so overwhelmed, her eyes filling up with tears, she had no idea what was wrong with her, Arizona left and told her parent's and Teddy that the two of them would be down in time for dinner, returning to the dining room, the blonde reached for Callie's hand and lead the pair to the guest room.

The day prior, Callie had this patient, a star athlete, come to Seattle to see Dr. Torres because Cristina, Callie's former roommate, had recommended the ortho surgeon... Cristina told Travis, the athlete, that if any surgeon could do this operation on his hip, it would be Dr. Torres. Callie was overwhelmed and frustrated at her friend for suggesting her in the first place, Cristina had no idea that Callie was nowhere near ready to try this surgery on a patient... let alone a star athlete.

Once they made it inside, Arizona shut and locked the door behind them, "What happened?"

"They want me to do the surgery on Travis," Callie said pacing around the room.

"Oh, Callie..." Arizona started

"No! I-I can't do it, Arizona! don't Callie me," The Latina said defensively

Arizona was taken aback, "I believe in you-" Callie shook her head, tears rolling down her face, Arizona reached for the woman's hands, "Callie you are the best damn Ortho doc on the west coast, from the stories I've heard about you fixing things that other doctors couldn't, there's no way in hell you couldn't do this for Travis," Arizona said, rubbing her thumbs across the back of tanned hands.

Callie let go of the blonde's hands, wiping away her tears, "Yeah?" the Latina asked, feeling so small.

Arizona nodded her head, "Hell to the yeah!" she smiled

Callie laughed at her roommate's enthusiasm, "What would I do without you?"

Arizona sighed, shrugging her shoulders, pretending to think, "You'd probably still be hanging up fliers on the streets of Seattle," the blonde teased, Callie rolled her eyes, "Arizona I told you about that in confidence!" she whined, Arizona giggled at her roommate.

"Just c'mere," Arizona held her arms open, Callie sighed, wrapping her arms around the smaller woman's waist. The two of them stayed like that until the both of them heard Barbara say, "let's eat."

Callie groaned; her forehead pressed against Arizona's shoulder, the blonde sighed.

"Just.. one more minute," Callie pleaded, not wanting to let Arizona go. The blonde nodded, running her hands up and down the Latina's back to comfort her. "You're my best friend," Callie confessed, Arizona smiled, "You're mine too."

Callie and Arizona were the last two at the dining room table, as Barbara and Teddy set the plates and silverware out for the Thanksgiving dinner.

"Arizona..." the Colonel looked up, disapprovingly, all eyes on the late guests.

"Daniel, not now," Barbara hushed the man, Daniel shook his head and sighed not saying another word for the sake of keeping the peace.

After a moment of awkward silence, the doorbell rung unexpectedly, all the dinner guests groaned.. who could it be? don't they know that it's a holiday? why can't they go home?

Owen stood up from the table, "I forgot... I might of uh invited someone else," the gingered man said apologetically, Daniel wasn't impressed, and neither was Arizona.

"Who did you invite?" Teddy asked, grabbing her husband's arm before he could get the door, "Mark and Lexie," he said in a hurry, not wanting them to wait out in the cold any longer, the front door opened and sure enough in came Mark Sloan and Lexie Grey. Arizona looked over her shoulder, glaring at the man and Owen chatting like two good ole friends, acting as if there was never any bad blood between the two of them.

The couple sat directly across from Callie and Arizona, Callie of course was good friends with Mark, Arizona still couldn't fathom why. What good did this man ever do? he was an okay plastic surgeon but that was about it. Slept with his best friend's wife, flirted with said best friends' girlfriend and now the icing on the cake he had somehow got a young and innocent Lexie Grey to fawn over him.

"Torres," Mark winked at the Latina, Callie rolled her eyes at the man, "Sloan," She curtly replied, not appreciating the poor attempt of flirting especially not in front of his date.

"You know this man?" Daniel asked Arizona's roommate, Callie looked at Arizona and then to her dad, both giving disapproving looks.

"Yeah, she knows me! Cal and I go way back," Mark smirked, Lexie tugged on his arm and gave him a look, "Isn't that right, Cal?"

Callie grimaced, feeling the tension in the room and all eyes on her, "Yeah, that's right," she admitted, Arizona looked down at her plate, not making any eye contact with anyone.

Teddy cleared her throat, desperately wanting to change the conversation and ignore Mark Sloan's presence, "Okay! uh- well now that everyone is here, how about we all go around the table and say what we are thankful for and then have some of this delicious Thanksgiving food that Mrs. Robbins and Callie prepared?" the dinner guests nodded their heads, wanting nothing more than a change of topic.

Callie was up first, she thought for a second of all the things she was graced with this year, things like new lab equipment at work and having closed certain chapters in her life... "I'm Thankful for my job, a roof over my head and for getting to meet the Robbins family this year," she motioned to Arizona and her parents, Daniel nodded his head, Barb smiled at Callie's thoughtful words, Arizona gave her roommate a small smile... Callie could tell something was off with her friend ever since Mark showed up, the Latina shook her head disapprovingly at the cocky man... Mark smiled at Callie's remark.

Arizona thought of the things that mattered most to her, the things she held near and dear to her heart, shaking off the feeling of annoyance, the blonde spoke; "I'm thankful for my mom and dad..." she looked to her parents who smiled back at their daughter, "I'm thankful for Teddy and Owen and little Leo and Allison..." Arizona smiled at her friend and the growing family, "I'm thankful for Callie..." Arizona smiled sadly at her best friend, Callie nodded her head, "And most importantly, I'm thankful for my brother Tim, I wish he could be here with us all," Arizona finished, voice laced with sadness, missing her brother immensely. Barb and Daniel both sniffled back tears at their daughter's thoughtfulness, Arizona was very keen on keeping her brother's memory alive not only for her own sake but for her parent's and for her, maybe, future children's sakes.

The night went on, everyone finished up saying what they were thankful for, Mark Sloan being last, of course he threw in that he was thankful for his and Callie's friendship just like Arizona had said, making the blonde jealous... and mad for poor Lexie who was being thrown to the curb at every chance the man whore got.

Food was passed around the table, glasses of wine was being poured, Teddy got to Lexie's cup when the soft-spoken women politely declined, Arizona furrowed her eyebrows, looking to Callie who shrugged, not knowing what was going on with the girl. Arizona felt her stomach churn, hoping to whoever that Lexie Grey was not...

"I'm pregnant, I can't drink," the brunette confirmed Arizona's suspicions. The table got quiet, all eyes on Lexie and Mark

Barbara broke the ice, "Congratulations dear!" she smiled at the girl, Lexie thanked Barb and smiled, "Congratulations Lexie and Mark," Callie smiled at the two politely, Arizona took a drink of her glass of wine and ignored the interaction.

"Thanks Cal!" Mark grinned like a cheshire cat, wrapping his arm around Lexie's shoulder.

Tonight was going to be a long night... Arizona thought to herself.

After dinner had settled, Barbara brought out the pies that Callie made and placed them in the center of the table for everyone to cut themselves a slice, handing out dessert plates and forks.

"Cal, remember when you used to make this for us all the time?" Mark asked, holding up a slice of his favorite key lime pie. "Yeah, how could I forget? you would never leave me a slice," Callie ratted the man out, unknown to Arizona, Callie and Mark were roommates for a short time... he was the first person to share rent with her, the two became good friends even though Mark was interested in being more than that.

"Oh, come on you know I wanted more than just the pie," Mark smirked, openly flirting with the Latina right in front of his pregnant girlfriend.

Lexie and Arizona shared a look, both not amused at the man's jokes.

"Shut the hell up Mark," Callie threatened, Mark threw his hands up, "Kidding! I was only kidding, geez lighten up Cal," Mark scoffed, Callie used to be fun, now she was being closed off and not letting him get away with his crude humor.

"No, it's never just kidding with you and for God's sakes it's Callie not Cal," Callie said, tired of the night being ruined because of him.

Mark looked around the room, it was noticeable that no one wanted him or Lexie there, he shook his head, if Callie wanted to embarrass him then he could embarrass her right back, "So, all of the sudden you just forget? you forget who was there for you when your bigot father disowned you? who was there when no one wanted to sleep with you, and you practically begged for it?" Mark stood up, shouting and pointing his finger at the Latina, Owen came out of nowhere and grabbed the man from behind, "Get your fucking hands off me!" Mark growled, shoving the red-haired man against the dining room wall, picture frames and mirrors jarred around.

"That is ENOUGH!" Arizona's father slammed his hands down on the table, "YOU!" he pointed at the salt and peppered haired man, "Get the hell out of this house or so help me God, I will make you disappear, I have connections," His eye's darkened, scaring everyone at the table, Owen had just put the innocent ears to bed and thankfully just in time for all hell to break loose.

Owen grabbed Mark by his jacket, pulling him to the front door, Daniel followed the men, continuing his threats; "If I EVER see you around or near my daughter or her friend ever again, I will end your career with my bare hands... are we clear?"

Mark pushed Owens hand off of him, "I said ARE we clear?" the elder Robbins repeated.

Mark nodded his head and hurried for the door like a puppy with its tail tucked between its legs, "I am so sorry I don't know what's gotten into him," Lexie apologized for her boyfriend's behavior, Arizona scoffed at the brunette, "He can defend his self, he's a grown ass man, don't fight his battles for him," Lexie nodded her head, looking to Callie who was embarrassed and upset, "Callie I am so sorry I-" the Latina shook her head and crossed her arms, "It's not your fault, Lexie, really just please go... now's not the time." Lexie sighed, nodding her head again, the poor girl left to go find her boyfriend.

Owen closed and locked the door; Daniel stuck his hand out, the ginger looked down and up at the stern man, "Owen I was wrong about you, you are a good man," Owen smiled and shook Daniel's hand, "Thank you sir," Arizona's dad smiled, and with a surprise to everyone," Don't call me sir, Daniel is just fine," He said, patting Owen on the shoulder, Owen looked at Teddy who shrugged her shoulders and smiled at her husband.

Callie and Arizona both stayed silent, not knowing what to say to one another, Teddy and Barbara got up from the table and began to clean up all of the dishes from the night, Owen and Daniel sat in the living room... the two talking about war stories, pouring glasses of scotch.

"Hey, how about we go someplace to talk?" Arizona whispered, laying her hand on Callies knee under the table, the Latina sighed and nodded her head, dreading telling the blonde the truth about her relationship with Mark.

The pair stood up from the table, Arizona looked to Teddy and Barbara washing and drying dishes, "Mom, Callie and I are going to go outside for some fresh air," Barbara looked over her shoulder and smiled, "Okay honey, you two be safe" Arizona nodded her head, grabbing Callie's hand which both her mom and Teddy noticed, the two women sharing a knowing look.

The back door closed shut; Barbara handed another dish off to Teddy, "I wish those two would get their head's out of their asses," the older woman shook her head, Teddy's eyes grew wide, "Excuse the language dear, but I cannot be the only one who thinks that those two have feelings for each other!" Barbara exclaimed; Teddy laughed at Arizona's mother, "No, you're not the only one, I've been telling that to Owen since the night Arizona moved in with Callie," Barbara smiled, thankful that she was not the only one who thought this, her daughter deserved to be happy, and she just knew it within her whole heart that Callie would be the perfect match for Arizona.

"Well, let's just hope for goodness sakes that those two are confessing their love to each other right now," Barbara said eagerly, Teddy laughed and nodded her head, "Wanna place a bet?" The dirty blonde smiled.

"Oh, you bet I do," Barbara said, Teddy explained the rules of the bet with Arizona's mom, Teddy bet 50 dollars that Arizona would be the first to confess her love to the Latina, "No way! Arizona is so stubborn just like her father, Callie will be the one to confess," Barbara said matter of factly.

Teddy rolled her eyes, "Shake on it?"

Barbara nodded, the two women shook eachothers hands, "Now we wait," the older woman said giddily.

Callie and Arizona walked outside of their friends house, the blonde reached into her pocket and pulled out a white box along with a lighter, Callie snatched the items from her roommates hands, "What the hell? Callie! give me that back!" Arizona lunged, she jumped in the air as far as she could, Callie held the items over her head, there was no way the blonde could reach them, "No, What the hell is this?" Callie stuck out the pack of cigarettes and half used lighter, flipping the box open she could see a couple tobacco filled sticks were missing.

"What do you think it is, Callie?" Arizona smarted off, when she would get stressed or anxious she would carry around the bad habit with her to take the edge off. Arizona wasn't addicted to them, they were just her dirty little secret.. literally and figuratively.

Callie stuck the items into the back of her own jean pockets, "Cancer sticks, you're not getting them back until we talk, this..." Callie motioned between the two of them, "- is never going to work if we're holding back secrets from one another."

Arizona scoffed, "How do fucking cigarettes compare to the mother of all secrets you've been sitting on!" The blonde accused, throughout the night she had put two and two together and had realized that Mark was definitely more than a friend to Callie at one point.

Callie eyes grew darker, angered at the blonde's words, "Cancer, Arizona! they cause cancer! What fucking secret have I been sitting on? Since you know it all, tell me!" Arizona's jealously had gotten the best of her, from all the flirting and suggestive looks Mark had given the Latina through the night, the blonde felt like she was a ticking time bomb ready to explode inside.

"Your secret relationship with that.. scum of the earth man whore," Arizona said with disgust.

"That was a long time ago, Arizona it's water under the bridge," Callie sneered, the blonde shook her head in disbelief, "Why was he still flirting with you if it was a long time ago?," A light bulb turned on in Callie's head, "So, that's what this is really about," the Latina chuckled, Arizona stared at her roommate, not budging one bit.

"Arizona, it's none of your damn business who says what to me," Callie tossed the cigarettes and lighter down onto the patio table, "I can't believe this, you of all people..." Callie shook her head in disbelief, Arizona immediately felt regretful, "Calliope I-"

"Don't you dare call me that," Callie stared her roommate down, Arizona sighed, she tried to reach out and grab Callie's hand.

"No! You can't just call me that and expect things to be okay," Callie jerked her hand away from the blonde's grasp.

Moments passed by, neither woman said a word, the two of them set on either sides of the patio furniture. Arizona kicked her feet, the ends of her shoes grazing the concreted area.

"Can you stop?" Callie asked, feeling irritated at the sound of the blondes feet scraping the ground.

The blonde slowed her feet, her shoes once again scrapping the ground, a pair of brown eyes snapped up at her, "I can't help it! I'm short, my feet don't reach," Arizona said defensively, eyeing the pack of cigarettes on the table, the Latina shook her head, her eyes following Arizona's, "Don't even think about it," Callie deadpanned.

"Then let's talk this out so I don't feel the need to smoke away the stress," Arizona huffed, she expected this conversation to go very differently... maybe end with the blonde confessing her love for the other woman, Arizona shook her head... after tonight there was no way in hell she had a chance with Callie. Jealousy was a green eyed monster, Arizona sucked at taming it.

"Oh so I'm the reason you want to smoke? Gee thanks, Arizona," Callie replied sarcastically.

"No, ever since my brother died I picked up this nasty habit, I know it's disgusting but I can't help it, okay?" Arizona admitted, softening Callie's demeanor with the confession.

"I just don't want you to use them any more, they cause so many health problems and..and.. bad breath!" Callie said, the blonde looked over at the Latina and smirked... Callie furrowed her eye brows, "What?" Arizona giggled at her roommates tangent, "Bad breath? That's what big bad tough Calliope Torres is worried about?" the blonde teased.

Callie rolled her eyes, "Arizona ," She said sternly, blue eyes gave her an innocent look, "Calliope," the blonde bit her lip to hold back a smile, fighting so hard to stay mad at her friend but she just couldn't do it and neither could Callie.

"Fuck," Callie shook her head, a smile escaping her lips, Arizona giggled at the Latina letting her guard down, "Why are we doing this to ourselves?" the blonde asked, looking into her roommates eyes.

Callie sighed in defeat, "I'm sorry Arizona it's none of my business what you do, you can smoke all you want just please don't smoke in the apartment," the Latina grabbed the nasty things and tossed them to the blonde, Arizona stuffed them into the pocket of her hoodie, "I mostly smoke them after losing a patient or when I'm going through a tough time," she confessed, nervously fidgeting with the items in her pocket, "I guess that's why my first thought was to reach for them when we came out here," Arizona said quietly, Callie look up at her friend, the two scooted a little closer to one another on the patio bench.

"I'm sorry I made this Thanksgiving a tough time for you tonight," Callie apologized, the blonde shook her head and looked at the Latina... she was so beautiful, her tanned skin and dark hair, her full lips and that damn leather jacket... "You didn't, Callie it was all Mark," Arizona said, holding a hand out for the Latina to take, Callie did so, interlacing their fingers with one another. Their hands fit perfectly together, the warmth of Callie's skin slowly heating up the blondes pale cold body.

"About that, I guess it's best to tell you...now or never..." Callie started, Arizona looked at her roommate with a puzzled face, "What?" her heart beated rapidly, she had her suspicions on Mark and Callie but had no idea what the woman was going to say.

"Mark used to be my roommate," Callie admitted.

Arizona glared, "why didn't Teddy tell me?"

"Arizona..." Callie calmed the blonde, "Teddy doesn't know about this and neither did the hospital until Mark said what he said tonight," Callie shook her head, God why Mark... why did Owen have to invite him?

"I find that hard to believe, that man brags about every woman he's slept with," Arizona spat out, the words from the dinner filling her mind... begging for it.. "What did he mean by saying you begged for it?" the blonde knew it sounded like a stupid question, but she was trying to get to the bottom of how close Mark and Callie really were.

Callie sighed, caressing the blonde's hand, "After my father disowned me from the family, I had a really hard time affording rent because I was a brand new intern at Seattle Grace..." Callie started, Arizona adjusted their hands and gave the latina a gentle squeeze, encouraging her to continue. Callie cleared her throat, "Mark had just came in from New York to work a ground breaking case, with all the drama between him and Derek, he had no place to stay so he came to me one day and asked if my apartment was still available for rent, he had heard from all the gossip in the halls, I told him yes and well the rest is history... a messy one at that," Callie winced, Arizona let out a breath of air, "So, the whole begging for it thing..?" Arizona questioned, Callie shook her head and sighed, "Not one of my finest moments, I was desperate and Mark was.. Mark, he was there," Callie shrugged. Arizona regretted being curious, jealousy tried to rise back in her, "God, I fucking hate him," the blonde admitted, Callie snorted at her roommates honesty, "He was a good friend at first until he just kept wanting sex and one night he got so drunk he tried to propose to me," Callie smirked, letting Arizona in on an embarrassing secert about man whore Mark.

"What an ass... and tried proposing to you? A guy like that never should of have the chance, let alone privilege, of being around someone as great as you," Arizona said in all honesty, Callie smiled at her roommates kind words, "Thanks," she sheepishly replied.

"Was he one of the roommates you had horror stories about?" Arizona asked, remembering back to the conversations she had with Callie.

Callied nodded, "Most of them, yes, but uh also George," the Latina admitted.

Arizona snorted, "George? Like as in Curious George? Like the monkey?" The latina laughed, "Yeah not one of my finest moments.. George was my roommate after Mark and he and I almost got married after one night of drinking in vegas!" Arizona looked at her roommate in terror, "Jesus Christ, Callie!"

The Latina couldn't help but to laugh at the ridiculousness of her past, "And guess what?" She asked the blonde, Arizona had no clue where this was going, "What?" She asked out of curiosity.

"George cheated on me with his best friend so I kicked him out of my apartment and I've no longer let men stay with me ever since," Callie smirked.

"What an asshole! Wait- George..?" Arizona asked, thinking back to the drama at Seattle Grace that Teddy had told her about.

"O'malley and yes if we would've gotten married I would've been Callie O'malley," Callie said, Arizona giggled at the ridiculousness of the two names clashing together just like George and Callie's relationship had clashed.

"Cristina and Alex would never let me live that one down, Alex still calls me Callie O'malley as a joke to this day," Callie rolled her eyes, Arizona laughed at the Latina, "So who came after George?" she asked, Callie frowned, "Erica Hahn, she was another Cardio surgeon and she treated Cristina like shit," Callie rolled her eyes at the thought of that woman, "She moved in with me for a few months, I think she was trying to use me to get under Yang's skin, because when that didn't work she tried to kiss me then the next morning she fled Seattle without telling anyone," Callie said, "Oh! She also hated Mark," the Latina added.

"Hm, at least she got one thing right," Arizona said, Callie laughed at the blonde, Mark Sloan deserved to be hated. Erica trying to kiss callie, now that was funny.

"Wait- she tried to kiss you?"

"Yeah so not one of my finest moments," Callie cringed, Hahn would've tried anything to slither her way to the best surgeries and to become head of Cardio full time, fortunately, this did not work out in her favor. The whole hospital hated that woman and was so glad to see her go, Callie remembered even Bailey and Webber had cheered with excitement at the news of Erica Hahns departure.

"Did you... did you like her?" Arizona asked out of curiosity.

"What? No! she was using me to get to Cristina," Callie repeated.

"And if she wasn't using you, would you of liked her?" Arizona innocently asked, the Latina laughed nervously, "No- Yes- I mean, uh, maybe..." Callie stammered over her words, the blonde giggled at the Latina, her face turning red from being put on the spot.

"Callie, I'm only teasing you," Arizona nudged the Latina on the shoulder in a playful manner.

Callie groaned, "She was my type but she was too moody."

Arizona feigned in shock, "Too moody for the Callie Torres?"

"Shut up!" Callie said, laughing at her roommates antics, Arizona giggled.. her hand reached out for Callie's hand, "Is everything okay between us now?" the blonde asked.

"Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" Callie's heart raced at the feeling of Arizona's hand caressing her own.

"Because I was a pain in the ass today," Arizona admitted.

"That's okay, maybe tomorrow I'll be a pain in your ass to even the score," Callie joked, winking at the blonde, Arizona blushed... her feelings growing immensely for her best friend.

The two sat in silence, snow began to fall, the women looked up, both in awe... "Calliope! Snow!"

Callie stood up, holding her hand out to her roommate, the blonde accepted, Callie noticed the coldness of the smaller skin, Arizona's nose turned bright red from the winter weather.

"Jesus, Arizona, you're freezing," Callie said, the blonde wrapped her arm around herself, "I'll be okay, Callie we can't miss out on this," Arizona said excitedly, motioning to the winter wonderland around them.

"Come here," Callie her arms out, Arizona rolled her eyes, the Latina nodded her head, "Let me warm you up, roommie," Arizona smiled at the nickname, caving in, bundling herself up in the taller woman's arms.

The pair stood, snow falling around them, Callie's heart was racing and Arizona could feel it.. the thumping against the blonde's ear, "Calliope..." Arizona whispered, looking up at her roommate.

Callie looked down, the most beautiful set of blue eyes looking up at her, she caressed the blonde's cheek, Arizona's eyes fluttered, her heart beating wildly, the Latina ran her thumb over the dimples in the smaller womans cheek... God was she a sucker for those.

"Calliope... please," Arizona breathed out, Callie smirked at the hold she had over the blonde, "Please, what?"

"Girls! It's getting late!" Arizona's mom yelled out, unbeknownst to her, she was interrupting the very thing that she and Teddy had just placed a bet on.

Arizona sighed, deciding to tease the brunette, she stood up on her tip toes, placing a small kiss on the Latina's cheek.

Callie gasped, cheeks flushing, "Hey that's not fair," she touched the place where Arizona's lips had just touched.

Arizona giggled, "Calliope, we got to go," she said reluctantly, Callie sighed and nodded... not wanting to leave the privacy of their friend's back yard, why did their bubble have to burst just like that? the Latina questioned; she loved Arizona's mom after getting to know the woman over the past few days, she reminded Callie of her own mother, but the older woman's timing was just downright horrible.

Ch.5 Sorry seems to be the hardest word
