"I'd like to tell you more, but, you wish to save this boy, don't you?" said the Goddess, with a gentle smile on her face.

"Come, take back what was yours," she said, as she floated a broken piece of light upon Mitsuki's palm. As the fragment touched Mitsuki's palm, warmth filled her hand, and spread throughout her body, evoking a change.

Mitsuki could feel her body grow. Her bones, flesh, hands, leg, hair, grew as the power spread within her. Then, as if by magic, energy around her gathered, and adorned her with white, Miko attire. Instinctively, Mitsuki recognised the change in her to be something nostalgic, as if that was how she was supposed to be.

Along with the growth, golden glow spread through her hair from her scalp, lengthening it, dying it the color of the golden moon as the hair broke through Mitsuki's hair tie. The broken tie was then replaced by a big kamikazari, seemingly made of sunlight, which adorned her head with ribbon and shone behind her with pattern likened to crescent moon within a sun. Then, the light spread, dyeing her eyes golden with light as well. Mitsuki could feel a familiar power within her, a power all too familiar..

"What a beautiful soul.. I'm sorry on behalf of my Mother's whim.." said the goddess as she stared into Itachi's soul. The black fire's spread has been halted, yet, it still burns.

"This is my Mother's, Izanami's mark. Inaba, do you remember what to do?" the goddess whispered as she moved behind Mitsuki's figure.

"Somehow, I feel like I understand.." she said, as she slowly gathered the warmth within her hand, and clasped the fire with both of her palm, and lifted it up, away from Itachi's soul.

"Good work, now return it to the underworld," the goddess smiled as she whispered.

Mitsuki lifted her hand once more, releasing the fire upward. Immediately, the fire rippled through the air, as if passing the barrier between worlds.

"Now, replenish his soul with your life energy," the goddess instructed once more, prompting Mitsuki to put down her hand to touch the flames of Itachi's soul. Then as if the flame being rekindled, Itachi's soul burned brighter, its color even more vibrant than what Mitsuki could remember.

But, the mark, albeit faint, was still there.

"Why? Why doesn't it disappear?" said Mitsuki, frown embedded itself on her face. To her words, the goddess let out a bitter smile.

"It.. doesn't work like that.. You'll remember in due time," said the goddess. "And don't try to overcharge his soul as well. Every human has their own limit. All you've done is returning it to its original state," she added.

Even so, Mitsuki was glad. Color had started to return to Itachi's face, and the replenished soul had somehow prompted his body to begin repairing itself. Mitsuki slowly lifted Itachi's head back to her lap to let him rest more comfortably as she leaned her back on a tree, relieved. It was as if..

"You have stretched his time," the goddess clarified.

"Stretched?" Mitsuki asked, unsure. To her question, the goddess nodded.

"As for the meaning of that, you need to find out by yourself. I'm scared that you will hurt yourself once more if you were not ready, so.. I'll take the courtesy of splitting your memories into several parts and return them to you one by one," she declared to Mitsuki's confusion.

"Come visit our shrine once more, I'll put each fragment separately in three different shrines. But I must warn you, it will not be pleasant. Your memory, and the process.. Our memories are stored within our whole being, after all.."

"Our shrine? Our memories?" Mitsuki questioned.

"Amaterasu, and Tsukuyomi," the goddess clarified. The name rang familiar within Mitsuki's ear. It was the name of Itachi's Mangekyou Jutsu.

"As for my brother's, Oyamatsumi's blessing, he'd like to deliver it on his own, along with a shard of your memory. He'll be waiting in my shrine, nearby," the goddess smiled guiltily at the mention of her brother's whim. "But know that he adores you, that's why," she added.

This time, the name doesn't ring a bell within Mitsuki. As Mitsuki frowned with confusion, the goddess let out a chuckle.

"Don't worry about this boy, and yourself. I'll return the first part of your memory now. As you recall your distant memory, we will be around, protecting you and him, as our apology and to celebrate your reawakening."

The goddess opened her palm, a light fragment, akin to a jewel floated from her palm slowly toward's Mitsuki's forehead. As it touched Mitsuki, she slowly drifted away from her consciousness.

"I'm happy that you're back, Inaba, and despite everything that happened, even after you're reborn, you're still such a caring child. Now, all I can do is pray that you will never regret your decisions, with all my heart."

Along with the goddess's word, Mitsuki drifted away into her memories.
