The Party

Rachel and Eve were at the bar watching everyone dance around to the music the band was playing. They saw Ray and Allison dancing happily. They saw Tommy speaking with his brother Joel as Maria was dancing with the children.

Eve looked at Rachel and saw a lack of hair in front of her right eye. She gently moved it behind her ear Rachel looked up at her and smiled. Rachel looked up at her and smiled. She leaned onto Eve's side and Eve wrapped her in a side hug. They saw the door open to see a brunet girl in flannel enter and head over to the bar.

Grabbing a glass of whiskey, the brunet looked around nervously. The two noticed that she was giving looks to a girl dancing. Grinning Eve and Rachel made heir way over to the girl.

"Hey Ellie." Eve said.

Ellie turned towards the couple. "Hey." she said quietly.

The two's grin widened. "She's pretty, isn't she?" Eve asked mischievously.

Ellie blushed and looked at the two, finally noticing the smirks on their faces. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

The couple laughed at the obvious lie. "Sure… sure…" Eve said in between laughs.

"Fuck you both." Ellie told them.

This just made them laugh even more. Ellie took a sip of her drink while shaking her head in exasperation. She noticed an Asian male approach them.

"Hey Jessie." Ellie greeted him as Eve and Rachel started to calm themselves.

"Hey Ellie." He greeted him back and noticed the other two trying to surprise their laughter. "You two okay."

The two nodded their heads before Eve finished her drink. "Come on we should start dancing before you have to go out on patrol."

Rachel allowed her girlfriend to drag her to the dance floor, having teased Ellie enough and to avoid any awkwardness with Jessie.

They were about to dance when they noticed the door opened and saw Graham enter the building. He limped in and walked around the dancing toward Joel and Tommy. Eve smirked. "I see you and your brother were able to get your father to come."

Rachel grinned watching as Maria approached her father. She then looked towards her brother who was also grinning, giving her a thumbs up. She followed suit as the music became slower and Eve pulled her girlfriend closer in an intimate dance.

Graham was talking with Joel, Tommy, and Maria while watching his children dance with their partners. "The Lechon Manny cooked was delicious." He told.

"Hopefully, there is some left when we head out." Tommy said smiling.

"Yeah, I feel my stomach growling already." Joel said.

"We should head home soon, since we have to prep for patrol tomorrow." Maria said.

"You got it darling." Tommy said giving his wife a quick peck on the lips.

Graham smiled slightly. "I have to thank you for twisting my arm to come."

Maria looked at him confused. "What are you talking about?"

"My kids-." Graham started when he realized something. "You never had them get me to come did you?"

Shaking her head Maria started laughing followed by Joel and Tommy. Graham sighed in amusement. He turned towards the dance floor.

"I definitely don't feel bad for sending them out for late night patrol." Graham said giving a shark-like smile.

Ray was slowly dancing with his girlfriend when he looked over to see his father with a large smile on his face that communicated that he knew that he and his sister had fooled him. He looked at his father's companions to see them laughing. He sighed and looked towards his sister, who also noticed their father's look.

He motioned his head towards their father. Rachel nodded. The two couples continued to dance together waiting for the song to end, only for it to be interrupted.

"Hey!" A loud older voice shouted the couples turning to see an old man shouting at Ellie and Dina as they danced together. "This is a family event."

"Hey, we are just dancing like everyone else." Dina said.

"Just remember there are kids around!" Seth yelled.

The two turned to walk away. "And you're making a great example for the kids." Dina told him boldly.

"I don't need to hear it from the likes of you." He seethed.

"The fucks that supposed to mean." Ellie said stopping and stepping towards him.

"Means we don't need to show kids a bunch of dykes."

"Hey!" Joel shouted, stepping up to Seth and pushing him out of the way and Tommy grabbing him.

Joel turns to Ellie. "Hey kid, are you okay."

"Why the fuck did you do that?"

"He has no right-"

"And you do? I don't need your fucking help Joel."

Looking down Joel nods before he walks away sadly. Ellie starts to walk away sadly. Ellie start to walk away confused. Dina approached her.

"Hey Ellie…"

"Not now Dina." Ellie said leaving the building.

There was an awkward silence that was only broken when Graham used his cane. "Well, that was a thing, but tonight is party night."

He motioned for the band to start playing again and after a few awkward moments the party started getting back on track. He then turned to his offspring and their significant others. He brought back his shark-like smile.

"So, thank you for getting me to come, and I hope you enjoy your shifts tonight." He told them.

The brother and sister gulped. Alison then asked a question. "Have you seen my parents around?"

Graham dropped his smile, "They are outside looking after the kids."

"Okay… um there is something we have to tell you and the rest of the family." Ray said nervously.

Nodding his head, Graham motioned for them to follow him. They made their way outside and approached a couple in their 50's. "Hey mom, dad." Alison said quietly.

The two turned towards the voice of their daughter. They see her with her boyfriend and his family. "Hey, Ali what's going on?"

"Ray and I, have to tell you all something." She said nervously her hands shaking only calmed when her boyfriend held her hand. "I'm pregnant."

Both families were stunned at the news. It was quite for a few seconds before Alison's parents give her a large group hug. Ray then felt his sister put her left arm around his neck. "Congrats bro."

Eve would join her girlfriend by putting her right arm over Ray's neck. "Congratulations."

Graham walked in front of his son and his significant and waited for the congratulations to end. Ray and Alison looked towards him. He gave them a small smile and said the one word that mattered. "Congratulations."
