Arc 1 - Chapter 1 - Truffle Island
"Nami-swan! Robin-chan!" Sanji popped his head outside the galley as he sang his two female crew members names, "I have a very special treat for you two!"
The women in question were both lounging in their lawn chairs on the grassy deck of the Thousand Sunny, the former staring at her logpose while the former was reading a book. At the cook's call, they both glanced in his direction and Nami smiled, "Awe, Sanji," she said in a sickly sweet tone, "that is so sweet of you! What did you make us this time?" At her words, Sanji swooned as he bounded over to them, tray in hand.
Leaning down, the cook presented his master pieces before his beloved ladies, "My dears, it is my pleasure to present to you my newest recipe– a tangerine cheesecake topped with dark chocolate." He handed them both their plates and bowed deeply, "I do hope you enjoy."
Robin gave him a gentle smile and graciously took the plated dessert with a nod, "Thank you Sanji, this looks delightful."
At her praise, Sanji squealed and clasped his hands together as his eyes practically became hearts, "You are more than welcome my sweet Robin! You know I would do anything for you!"
Picking up her fork, Nami took a bite of the treat and hummed in awe as she chewed, "This tastes amazing! You really outdid yourself again Sanji," she said, barely pausing to speak as she took another bite.
"It's all thanks to my beautiful Nami's care for her tangerine trees! The fruits were perfect for this dessert," Sanji said as he went down onto one knee in front of the orange haired girl's lawn chair. He gently picked up her hand and went to give a kiss to her knuckles before he was suddenly plowed over by their rambunctious captain.
"Did someone say food?!" Luffy looked at the cheesecake and drooled as he leaned much to close to Nami's plate. Knowing the look on his face, the girl kicked her foot out to keep some distance between herself and the straw hat wearing boy in front of her. Sanji twitched for a moment as he lay on the grassy deck, irritation bubbling in him as he stood up and glared at his captain, "That's not for you! It's for Nami-swan and Robin-chan!"
Luffy pouted and turned to face his third crew member, "Awe come on! I'm hungry too– I need to eat!"
"You ate lunch two hours ago!" Nami and Sanji yelled at him. How their captain could put away so much food never ceased to astound them.
The commotion caught the attention of their other crewmates as they all converged on the group of four, many of them eyeing the treats with greedy stares. Without needing to hear a word from them, Sanji sighed and pointed behind him at the galley with his thumb, "Your snacks are on the table in the dining hall. You can get them yourselves," he said dismissively, lifting a cigarette to his lips and lighting it. Luffy, Usopp and Chopper all cheered and herded down towards the galley, a chorus of, "Food! Snacks!" echoing after them. Zoro shook his head in exasperation and looked out to the sea as he leaned against the mast.
"Speaking of food," Sanji began, his visage taking on a stern frown, "we need to find an island where we can stock up. Our captain doesn't let us keep provisions on the ship for very long. I checked the inventory before making the desserts and we are down to what should be three days worth of meals if I portion it out."
Zoro huffed as he knew what the cook was going to say next, "With Luffy around, three days worth of meals will become one. Definitely not enough to hold us out until we make it to Fish-Man's Island." He looked towards their navigator, "What's the logpose say?"
Nami lifted her logpose bearing wrist in front of her face and looked to her left, pointing a finger out towards the horizon, "If we're short on supplies, then it's fortunate that we are already on track to a new island. The logpose indicated earlier that it recorded a magnetic field and I adjusted our route a little while ago. We need to make a slight correction to the port side to line ourselves up again, but I think we should arrive soon enough."
"Oh Nami baby, you are both smart and beautiful~!" Sanji sang admiringly. The sight of the blonde man made the swordsman roll his eyes and turn his face away in annoyance.
"Shitty, perverted cook…" He muttered under his breath.
Whirling around, Sanji glared at Zoro and took a threatening step towards him, "What was that, Marimo?"
"I said shitty perv–"
The sound of cannon fire disrupted the duo from their argument and they both ran to the portside gunwale to peer behind the Thousand Sunny. Nami and Robin joined them and Nami shrieked, "Ahh no, there are Marines on our tail!"
Luffy was on the deck in no time as he joined them, hearing more cannon fire in the distance. The whistle of the cannonball's trajectory was much closer this time. Usopp warily left the galley with Chopper and the two began to panic while Franky, having ascensed from below deck, bellowed a laugh before descending once more. Luffy and Zoro looked like they were ready to take on the fight, but Nami was not having it. Screaming out orders, Nami directed everyone to their posts and the fight began as they tried to avoid any damage to their ship. Franky reappeared from below deck stating that the Coup de Burst was ready to go, but that they would need to refuel the cola if they used it to escape the small Marine fleet. Without further prompting, the Coup de Burst was activated and soon the Thousand Sunny left the Marines in their dust.

Due to the Coup de Burst, their travel time to the next island was shortened significantly. It was very fortunate as they had already gone through more food than Sanji was comfortable with by the next day and he wanted to stock up before anything else could happen– he couldn't allow his lovely ladies to starve to death on the seas!
"Land-ho!" Usopp cried from where he stood on the ship's bow. Luffy, sitting on the lion figurehead, cheered and pumped up his fists in the air as they approached the island before them. Finally, he could eat more meat!
Nami approached the bow of the ship as they glided through the water, having just finished directing Zoro and Sanji to adjust the masts to face the wind so they could have better speed as they traveled. "From the looks of it, we should be able to dock in a couple hours if this wind is consistent," Nami stated, "We should start preparing and delegating tasks to everyone. I don't want to risk running into those Marines again if we can help it."
Usopp nodded vigorously while Luffy whined, "But where's the fun in that?"
Both crew members glared at their captain, "You do remember that we left Enies Lobby two weeks ago, right? The whole World Government is after us now!" Nami almost screeched. Wincing at the volume, Usopp nodded once more in agreement, "She's right Luffy. We need to be careful for the next while or we could find ourselves in too deep a hole to climb out of."
Sighing, Luffy regarded his friends thoughtfully for a moment before his eyes widened and he keeled over, holding his abdomen with a groan. Concerned, Nami and Usopp asked him if he was okay until Luffy sniffed, "I'm hungry…"
Nami smacked him upside the head and stormed off while Usopp just shook his head and followed after her.

Just as Nami had predicted, they arrived at the island's docks a couple hours later around midday. The crew were given specific tasks to handle while on the island, and they would meet at the pub for food around six in the evening. Nami divided up some gold coins between the crew to accomplish their goals and grab what was needed. While Franky would remain on the ship, Sanji was of course tasked to handle food inventory; Nami and Robin would gather information, Usopp was to get ship parts and gunpowder, Zoro would go to trade old garments and supplies, Chopper would look for medical supplies, and Luffy… Well, they just hoped he wouldn't cause any trouble before they rendezvoused at the pub. When everyone was given their coins, they all dispersed and headed on their ways to explore the town and get the necessities before evening hit.
Robin and Nami decided to walk down the main street and keep an ear open for any information or rumors that could be useful during their travels. As they walked, they spoked among themselves and window shopped, occasionally entering an establishment and trying things on and purchasing something here or there before continuing on. It wasn't until they were passing a small group of townsfolk that they overheard something interesting.
"Have you tried the witch's charms? I've heard they are pretty effective."
"I've heard that too! Doesn't she make various kinds? Maybe I should get one to help my mother with her health. She's been on the decline lately…"
"Doesn't she also have herbal remedies? Have you tried seeing if she could heal your mother's illness?"
"I've seen her do miracles! No doubt she'd be able to heal your mother!"
"I heard she doesn't like being referred to as a witch though. What does she call herself again? A priestess?"
"I think so. But with those abilities of hers, how could she not be a witch?"
Nami and Robin shared a look as they approached the group of four individuals slowly. There were two middle-aged men, a woman around Robin's age, and a man who looked to be in his early to mid-twenties. Smiling coily, Nami gave a small wave to catch their attention and made a short greeting, "Hello. I'm sorry to be a bother, but my friend and I overheard your conversation a little bit and were curious about what you mean by a 'witch'. Could you tell us about her?" She asked sweetly. The three men became red in their cheeks as they gazed at her while the woman smiled pleasantly, oblivious to the charmed men.
"Oh, you must not be from Truffle Island. Most everyone on the island knows of the witch–"
"Priestess," the younger man corrected the woman as she spoke, earning him a slight scowl before her focus returned on the two foreigners, "–Priestess, my mistake. She arrived around half a year ago or so, washed up on the beach near the harbor on Bianchetto beach looking like death. Our resident doctor took her in and brought her back to health and she has been working at the Apothecary ever since."
Robin hummed in acknowledgmemt as she listened, tilting her head and folding her arms in front of her as she wondered aloud, "So what makes her a 'witch' exactly? Or a "Priestess'?"
One of the older men chimed in to answer, "She can perform miracles! I've seen it happen myself. One of our fishermen got caught in a rough storm a few months back and was near death. During the storm, one of his pike poles stabbed him through his stomach and he nearly died from blood-loss. When we were able to reel his ship back to the docks, we all thought he was a goner. The witch arrived and healed him with some kind of glowy magic and he was right as rain. He didn't even have a scar."
Robin's eyes widened a smidge at the story, "That is indeed impressive. Is that all she can do?"
The other older man shook his head, "She also makes charms and herbal remedies that they sell in the Apothecary. I've heard they actually work too. One of the farmers I know from the east end of the Island purchased one of the fertility charms and the next thing you know, his crops grew the best harvest we've seen in years."
For someone to be able to do that, it had to be the work of a Devil Fruit user. How else could it be explained? Coming the same conclusion, both Straw Hat women continued to converse with the townsfolk about the witch, hoping they would have an encounter with her at some point during their stay.

It was fairly crowded in the town square as Chopper made his way around, taking in the buildings and newness of the architecture. Since leaving Drum island, every other island they stopped at felt like a new world. While many of them held the same form and structures, they all felt unique and exciting. This place was no different. Making his way through the thick crowd, he spotted a sign hanging in front of one of the shops with the name Gale's Clinic and Apothecary written on it in a fancy script. Chopper's face lit up as he approached the shop and pushed the door open, a small chime echoing in the establishment as he entered. His hooves clopped on the hardwood as he looked around.
"Hello! Welcome to Gale's Clinic and Apothecary. How can I help you?" An older man greeted as he smiled down at the blue-nosed reindeer with squinted eyes. He appeared to be in his early sixties with a balding head and a thick grey mustache that swallowed his entire mouth. Chopper felt at ease in the elderly man's presence and bounced towards the counter.
"Do you happen to have these here?" The little reindeer asked as he handed the older man a piece of note paper. The man picked up a pair of reading glasses and perched them on his nose as he read the paper he was given; it was a list of herbal ingredients and medical supplies.
"Aesculus Hippocastanum? Hippophae Rhamnoides? My, this is quite the list you have here, sonny," the elderly man remarked, "You don't hear regular folk call them by their scientific names unless they work in medicine. You seem like a very well-versed young lad."
Chopper blushed and waved him off with a bashful grin, "Oi, do you think saying that is going to make me happy? Because it doesn't!"
The shopkeeper simply chuckled at the reindeer's antics and turned around to begin gathering the requested herbs, his gait slow as he worked his way around his shop. It was maybe fifteen minutes into his search that the door swung open and the bell chimed at the entrance of a little boy. He couldn't have been much older than eight with his baby chub still on his face, sandy blonde hair, and short stature. He had to be no more than a foot taller than Chopper.
"Hey Grandpa, where's Kagome?" The boy asked as he headed behind the counter, disregarding Chopper's presence entirely. Pausing in his work, the older man turned to look at his grandson before he looked upward in thought.
"Hmm, I do believe she is at the river having a bath. The plumbing has yet to be fixed. You know how she is about bathing, my boy," he said, looking back down at the little boy, "Why do you ask?"
The blonde-haired boy glowered and mumbled something under his breath. Unable to hear, his grandfather asked him to speak up and Chopper stayed still as he became curious himself. In a high-pitched growl, the boy nearly yelled, "Those meanies are coming back!"
Meanies?
His grandfather furrowed his thick brows and lowered his head as he processed his grandson's words, "Oh dear, where did you hear this from, Zephyr?"
"I heard from the old men at the harbor. One of them said they received a call on the den-den about 'meeting their demands' and stuff… Why won't they leave us alone, grandpa? Why do they want Kagome–"
The old man held up a hand, silencing the boy before he went on a tirade, "Enough, my boy. We will keep going as we do. The town won't stand for it. There's no reason to worry," he stated calmly, smiling down at Zephyr. He indicated over to where Chopper stood, bowing lightly in apology, "I'm sorry for the outburst. My grandson and I took in a young lady who became very dear to us and the townsfolk a while back. It seems some unpleasant individuals are still being unreasonable regarding some wants and demands."
"It's no trouble!" Chopper replied, waving his hooves in front of him as a means of waving off his apology, "Though it sounds like you are dealing with some trouble. Can you share those details with me? My friends could maybe help! They're super strong!"
Zephyr looked at the small reindeer and stared at him for a while, making Chopper a little uncomfortable. Another moment went by before a glimmer of hope entered the boy's eyes and he squeaked out, "Really?"
Chopper nodded, "Sure! I'm sure they could lend a hand– though I should probably ask them first…" Chopper sweatdropped as he realized he got a little ahead of himself, "But I'm sure they'd be willing anyway! So, who are these big meanies you were talking about?"
Looking up to his grandpa, the elder seemed to consider for a moment before he nodded permission, and the boy turned back to face Chopper with a solemn expression, "They're the mean Marines."
"The what?!"

Hello! It's been so long since I last wrote anything that I feel incredibly rusty, but I felt I just had to write this story. The lack of proper One Piece x Inuyasha crossover stories is criminal, in my opinion. I'm sure others could do a much better job than I, yet I wanted to try my hand in it and see where it took me. If anyone else feels like writing a IYxOP story, by all means please do!
It wasn''t until about two weeks ago that I got into watching One Piece (currenly on episode 161, making good progress!) though I do know quite a bit of the story, so it'll be a little slow moving as I watch along with the series. This will have some Canon Divergence naturally, and I plan to extend travel time quite a bit because everything happening in the span of 77 days pre-time skip is just... Well, too short a period if you ask me. Anyway, please review and let me know your thoughts and if you find anything I should improve, please do tell me! Thanks in advance!
