Author's Note - Hey everyone, how's it going? Just a quick reply to a review;
Guest - Seems that way huh? Shoto's definitely becoming worse and acting like Enjy. Momo however, seems like Rei who silently accepted her fate, isn't gonna just take it lying down.
With that done, here's the next chapter for you! Also, Happy 4th of July if you celebrate it!

CHAPTER 025 – UA DORMS PART 1
"What the hell's taking them so long?"
"Calm down dude."
"Yeah man. It's not like they're an hour late or something."
"Well, if this was an emergency, then they'd fail in doing their jobs as pro heroes!"
"But it's not, so just chill man."
"Alright, listen up you maggots!" spoke up Vlad all of a sudden, preventing his students, mostly the blonde copycat of the class, from continuing. When all of his students' attention was on him, Vlad continued. "Just got an update from Aizawa. 1A's on the way. They'll be here shortly."
"About time!"
"Did something happen, Sensei?"
"Yeah, what was the hold up?"
"I don't know the details but Aizawa said there was a problem child who needed immediate punishment for his actions," explained Vlad.
Glancing at one another, the students of class 1B wondered who it could've been.
Until one of them decided to share his idea of whom it could be. "It was probably that crazy blonde from their class," remarked Togaru, making his classmates glance at him before they looked back towards their sensei for confirmation.
"Whether it was him or not, it doesn't matter. Soon as they get here, we'll be able to head inside the dorms. For now, just relax and enjoy the nice breeze," advised Vlad.
Unable to do anything else since they had to wait for their sister class, class 1B decided to just hang around in front of the dorm building for a little bit longer. As they waited, some light conversations popped up here and there between them. A few just rested as they leaned against the building or sat on the front steps while remaining quiet.
While his students were occupying themselves, Vlad was doing his best to stay calm while facing towards the path that 1A would come down on. He wasn't exactly a patient person but he did have to set a good example for his students. Even though he did agree with Neito that class 1A was taking too long, he didn't want to add more fuel onto the fire. And he believed that if he gave his students, especially Neito, an inch of leeway, then they'd take the opportunity to go a mile. He couldn't let that happen because he had to keep things from escalating. As much as he'd like to give Shota a piece of his mind for making them wait so long.
Waiting for what seemed like forever when in reality it was just a handful of minutes or so, some of the students were about to start complaining again. Luckily, that was when Vlad noticed something and he alerted them. "Liven up! They're finally here!"
All twenty students of class 1B shifted their attention towards the new arrivals who were being led by their sensei. Some from both classes waved or smiled at their friends.
Vlad addressed Shota as he got closer to them. "About time you guys showed up!"
"Like I said, I had to deal with a problem child. A very big one at that," remarked Shota with a tired tone and expression.
Vlad raised his right eyebrow. "That bad huh?" Shifting his gaze towards the first years behind Shota, Vlad realized something within moments. "Where's the blonde hothead? The explosion user? What was his name again?"
"Bakugo. He was the problem child and he's been suspended for the rest of the week," answered Shota.
Not only did Vlad's eyes widen, but so did his class. But two of them quickly became thrilled to hear that the bombardier from 1A had gotten into trouble. "Damn, really? What happened?" asked Vlad.
"Not now. We have some things to take care of here and the quicker we get them done, the quicker I can go catch some sleep," retorted Shota. Without waiting for a reply, he walked towards the building. "C'mon, you lot!" he barked.
Vlad said nothing but shook his head slightly before doing the same and telling his class to follow along.
As the two classes followed them into the building, some quick greetings were made between them all. Some even moved closer to their friends. Many of the guys snuck some glances at the girls from the other class. All of the girls from both classes grouped up together with one of them being a little further from the rest while somehow staying near her only friend. But almost everyone had looked at a certain green haired young man with some even shifting their gaze onto him several times.
Once they entered the building, Vlad and Shota led their students inside until they reached the middle of the main central area. The two stopped at that point and turned to face their classes. Their students gathered closer to them.
"Alright, this is your new dorm building that you'll be sharing for the next three years," said Shota, making all thirty-nine students face him. "This is the main central area. As you can see around us, there's a large living area with couches, coffee tables and one large TV that you'll all have to share. The shared kitchen and dining area is also here. The double doors behind me lead to your own backyard that's walled up so you can have privacy. You may use these areas as often as you want but make sure to keep the place clean. I don't want any bug infestations. Also, this building has upgraded security and sensors. There are surveillance cameras for the perimeter of the building and backyard. UA's giving you a lot of trust to not have cameras inside the building too in the public areas. Don't make us regret that decision and install them in the future.""
"Do you see the two hallways on either side of this area?" asked Vlad. He waited for them to glance towards what he was talking about before they faced him and nodded. "Those are the connecting hallways that lead to smaller common areas on either side that houses the elevator and stairs to the upper floors. Males are to my right and females to my left. Also, if the girls want their own private common area, they may use that area to do so since the doors leading up to it can be locked. Same goes for the guys' side. Understand so far?"
Some nodded their heads while others voiced their understanding.
"Good. Now for the rest," started Shota and he waited to make sure they were paying attention before he continued. "There's ten floors on either side with four units per floor. Your dorms will start after the first floor since that'll be used for special accommodations if needed. Each unit is decently sized for one person so you shouldn't have any trouble space wise. Your belongings are already placed in your rooms but you have to put things away and organize. They also have a complete bathroom with walk in showers as well as a closet. There's gonna be empty rooms on both sides. Besides the first floor, they'll be mostly on the upper floors and may be used for something else in the future so leave them alone."
When Shota stopped, Vlad spoke. "Now, UA has been kind enough to provide each unit a twin bed, desk and six-drawer dresser for you to use. Besides the requests made of special accommodations when you filled out the forms that were sent out to each of you, that's what you'll get. You may decorate and furnish as you please but that'll be on you. On your desks there'll be a small book that lists all the rules and policies in effect here at UA as well as the dorm rules. But there are a couple things we wanted to mention to you directly." Vlad turned toward Shota and gestured for him to continue.
Shota let out a sigh before he did so. "First, even though you're all of age at eighteen years old and we don't prohibit relationships while you're attending UA, remember why you're here. Remember that you worked hard and sacrificed much to be able to get into UA. Be responsible and respectful of one another. To just throw that all away for a night of irresponsible passion or to just scratch an itch is stupid and it'll ruin dreams if things get complicated or worse, someone ends up pregnant. …"
At those words, many from both classes blushed while a few of the girls even let out small squeaks of embarrassment. Some of them glanced around to see how everyone else was reacting. A certain green haired young man however, forced his gaze to remain on his homeroom teacher even though he too felt embarrassed thanks to his homeroom teacher's words. Another reason why was because he had a feeling that several people were looking at him from his surroundings. And he was right.
Shota ignored their reactions and kept going. "And remember this too; just because you got into the hero course, doesn't mean that your spot is guaranteed forever. There are others waiting for the chance to usurp you from not only the general course, but from outside UA as well. Is that understood?" asked Shota with a serious tone in his voice that demanded an answer.
"Yes, Sensei!"
"Good. Vlad?"
"Right. Now, with that said, there's still gonna be a curfew. You must be in your own rooms by 10pm if the next day is a school day unless given permission for a reasonable reason by us or Principal Nezu. Also, if you want someone to visit you from outside UA, notify us or Principal Nezu so they can go through the proper channels and get a visitor's pass. You may leave campus after classes but you must be back before curfew. You may be off campus on weekends and stay wherever as long as you inform us first. Understood?" They all nodded or voiced their agreement. Vlad returned a curt nod to them before glancing at Shota. "You wanna get that question going now?"
Shota looked at Vlad from the corner of his eyes. "Might as well get it done sooner rather than later." His eyes moved back towards the first years. "Remember how Nezu told you about one of your classmates needing to ask a request from you?"
At those words, everyone remembered the assembly from earlier and all of them moved their eyes onto the back of Izuku's head. Izuku could feel his head start burning thanks to all the attention from all the gazes locked onto him. Yet he kept his sight locked onto the two staff personnel in front of him.
"You do. Good. Also, remember that Nezu has already approved it as long as you're okay with it too. Now, with all that being said, Midoriya, come here so you can ask them your request."
Izuku stepped forward. Stopping near Shota and Vlad, he took in a quiet breath before he turned around and faced the others. Izuku noticed how they were looking at him with expressions of curiosity. Feeling nervousness creep in, Izuku steeled himself as he thought of Eri and he remembered how he was going to tell them. "S-So, ah, hey everyone. To formally introduce myself, my name is Izuku Midoriya. And this…request…that I want to ask you is something important. But first, let me explain why I have this request."
Izuku's words made them become even more curious as evident from their facial expressions. Swallowing the saliva that accumulated in his mouth, Izuku began explaining. "On the day before UA started, I went on some last minute shopping to get things I needed. I ended up bumping into some of you while I was doing that."
Eijiro, Mina and Kyoka had images flash through their minds of what happened after he said that. Even Tsuyu thought about how she was able to find her sister thanks to him even though they didn't meet. But when he continued, they refocused on Izuku.
"After finishing my shopping and helping some of you, I was on my way back home when a little girl bumped into me out of nowhere. She was scared and crying because a villain was after her."
Many from both classes ended up feeling concerned as well as angered over hearing that. How could anyone hurt a little girl? Though the girls knew of this thanks to Kyoka and Ochaco learning of it and telling them, they still were affected by hearing it again.
"I was able to save her from that villain in the end but I got really hurt and had to stay in the hospital for a few days before I could come to UA. During that time, the little girl, whose name is Eri, stayed by my side because she got attached to me and I got to know her a little better. And some of the things I learned wasn't good at all. She's…" Trailing off, Izuku took in a breath before he continued. "She's been abused and used for experiments by that villain…"
At those words, everyone there reacted. From shouts or yelps of shock or surprise, to angered growls or muttered curses. Some even began shaking while others clenched their hands into fists from rage building inside of them. Some of the girls even clapped their hands against their mouths. Even Shota and Vlad had momentary urges to find the villain and teach him a lesson but kept their outward demeanor stoic in front of their students.
Izuku noticed everyone's reactions and he let them digest what he said for a few seconds before he continued. "And because of that, she's super shy, very scared of people and can't really function with others. Right now, she's only okay with my Mom but she only relaxes when she's with me. Like I said, she's become very attached to me and I was only able to have her stay with my Mom for a little bit while I get settled in at UA because I promised her that I'll go back for her. I already have Principal Nezu's permission to have Eri come stay with me here at the dorms. But I also wanted to ask you all too and get your okay too. So now that you know the situation, I wanted to ask you, would you mind if Eri comes to stay with me, with us, here at the dorms?" asked Izuku and immediately he received answers.
"Of course not!"
"She's definitely welcome here, so don't worry about that Midoriya."
"Yeah, man and I'm sure we'll all be happy to have her here!"
"I…I can let her see my pet rabbit…"
"I can even bring my younger siblings to play with her on the weekends."
"I'll make sure to bake her some sweets from time to time!"
Many more voiced their agreement and shared ideas of what they could do to help out. Izuku felt so appreciative and relieved that they were all okay with Eri coming to stay at the dorms. "Thank you. Thank you all so much! It means a lot that you're okay with this! I really appreciate it!" he said before a beaming smile formed on his face.
Seeing the pure smile on his face made many from both classes smile back. A good portion felt as if a ray of sunshine bore down on them from the warmth they felt from Izuku's smile. Some of the girls from both classes even felt momentarily mesmerized by it with many blushing.
Izuku's smile faded when he remembered the second part of his request. "But, there's one more thing I need to ask you regarding this. And…And actually, this part of the request is for the girls from our classes."
Everyone calmed down and the thirteen girls ended up looking at one another before shifting their attention back towards Izuku. Most of the guys became curious while a few narrowed their eyes as they started thinking something.
"One thing I didn't mention yet is this," started Izuku, making sure that they were paying attention before he continued. "Eri is scared of almost everyone and especially from doctors for some reason. She also doesn't have much of, if any, knowledge a normal child her age should know. And because the villain and everyone else that's been around her were guys until very recently, she hasn't had any female role models except for my Mom. With that said, after talking it over with professionals, something was suggested that would be good for Eri and I believe it too. Girls, will you allow me and Eri to stay on your side of the dorms?"
"W-What?!" yelped a few of the girls from surprise.
Half of the guys were stunned into silence at Izuku's bold request, even if it was for a little girl. The ones who were already suspicious became annoyed and slightly agitated that he'd use this kind of situation to get closer to the girls.
A couple started expressing their thoughts out loud. A few more spoke up before others joined in. Right when both classes were about to have things get too loud and heated, Shota used his quirk while shouting at them to quiet down. Instantly, all of the first years went silent while feeling part of them being locked away once more. "Better. No more going crazy like that. You're all adults. Act like it. Any more like that and there'll be severe consequences."
No one dared argue back even though many of them wanted to say something.
Izuku took advantage of the situation and tried his best to have them understand. "I know what I'm asking for is sudden and that it seems that I'm trying to take advantage. I'm not. I'm asking this of you girls because we realized that Eri would be more comfortable being around girls more often than guys because of her awful experiences. And that she needs proper female role models. I know we have the common rooms and all that, but she's still going through a hard time and I promised her that I'll do whatever I can so she can feel comfortable and safer. And if you grant this, I swear that I will never take advantage of your kindness. I'll even owe each of you one thing that you can ask of me and I'll do it if it's within my power, ability and it's reasonable. So please…" Izuku made a perfect ninety degree bow towards the girls before he continued. "…will you allow this request of mine to help Eri?"
Izuku kept his bow and didn't move from it until he heard an answer. His heart was hammering while a multitude of different emotions spiraled around inside him while Eri's image was in his mind. Please, let them be okay with this!
Stunned silent over his words and behavior, no one from either class was expecting this. The guys, even the ones who felt that Izuku was taking advantage of the situation and still felt bitter about it, did understand what he was trying to do. The girls however, didn't know what to say or do, with every single one of them lost in thought.
After a short silence, one of them decided to take control since no one else was taking initiative. "Midoriya-san, please raise your head," said Reiko in her calm and somewhat monotone voice. When Izuku straightened out, he faced her and she continued. "I'm sure not only I but all of us understand your plight and how important this is for you and that it's not for you. However, this is rather sudden and I'd like to make a request of my own. Give myself and my fellow female peers some time to discuss this matter within ourselves and we shall let you know our decision afterwards."
"Yes, of course!" replied back Izuku at once. Realizing he was losing his composure since he was so on edge, he took in a breath to calm himself down. "Thank you for listening to me and for at least taking the time to discuss and consider this."
Seeing that was done, Vlad cleared his throat to get their attention. "Now, with that settled for the moment, one last thing before we let you go. Besides Midoriya's, your dorms have already been assigned and there will be no switching. And your dorms begin on the second floor since the first floor, not counting the ground floor where the common area is, is being reserved for special situations. Understood?" No one said anything and Vlad raised his eyebrow. "I said, understood?!"
"Yes, Sensei!"
"Good. Girls, we'll give you thirty minutes to come up with a decision. You may use your own common area to do so. Boys, you should use this time to go check out your dorms. Now, get going!"
The thirty eight students split into two groups with the males going to one side and the females going to the other. Izuku remained and turned to face the two staff members.
"Midoriya, before I forget, because of your unique situation, your belongings haven't been sent to a room yet. They're actually right over there." Shota pointed towards an area behind the couches near the wall. Izuku saw stacks of boxes there when he looked at that direction before facing the two again. "Once we figure out which side you're gonna be on, we'll get our facilities personnel to combine two of the rooms together. That'll take some time but they should finish up today. But once that's done, you'll be able to move in and then have Eri come join you. I do suggest taking some time to get settled in before having her come though."
Knowing it was sound advice, Izuku could only nod in agreement. "Okay, sounds good to me. Thank you Aizawa-Sensei." He turned towards the 1B instructor. "And thank you too, Vlad-Sensei."
Giving a curt nod, Vlad gave a small smile. "You're welcome, kid. Normally I wouldn't even agree with this kind of thing, but after what you did for everyone at the USJ and how Nezu, Midnight and even All Might are vouching for you, I think it'll be alright if it was you."
Izuku felt embarrassed but also appreciative of his kind words and kept his outward demeanor as calm as possible. "T-Thank you for the trust and praise, Vlad-Sensei. I promise I'll do my best."
"Make sure you do," replied Vlad before he started heading towards the couches to sit down and relax.
"Midoriya." Izuku faced Shota. "While you're waiting for an answer, you may do as you please here. Just don't make too much noise while I take a nap."
Izuku held back a chuckle from his words. He nodded and watched as his homeroom teacher took out a sleeping bag out of nowhere and quickly got into it.
Izuku looked at the side where the girls went. Please, let them be okay with this and agree. I promise I'll make it up to them. Turning his gaze towards the guys' side, Izuku thought about the other stuff he noticed. Man, some of those guys looked angry. And I think I know why… Shaking his head, he then took in a breath before he turned towards one of the couches and went to sit on one of them. Wondering about what the girls might say when they came back, he spent his time thinking what he could do in either scenario. And how he could show his appreciation if they did agree…

When the guys entered their side of the dorms, instead of going up to their dorms, almost all of them remained in the common area thanks to a certain copycat quirk user. Only a handful didn't join in because they either wanted to go check out their rooms or they didn't want to get involved with whatever he was planning.
After the group conversed with one another about what just happened and sharing their opinions on the matter, Neito growled before he just snapped all of a sudden. "Damn it, this is fuckin ridiculous! How dare him!"
"Dude, calm down. It's not that big of a deal."
"The fuck you mean it's not a big deal?! That metal getting to your brain or something?! That arrogant piece of shit thinks he can do whatever he wants just because he helped us out at the USJ!"
"Monoma-san, I must request that you stop using such vulgar language. Or at least use them as minimally as possible."
Neito crossed his arms and gave a slight glare at his classmate. "I only cuss when it's needed Shishida and I'm pretty damn sure it's needed at this point!" A disapproving expression formed on Jurota's face but Neito didn't care. "That bastard is using this poor child as an excuse to invade on the girls' privacy!"
"Yeah!" agreed Minoru, seizing the opportunity to add in his thoughts too. "It's bad enough he helped out most of the girls in my class before UA even started, but now he even wants to take the ones from your class all to himself too! It's not fair! He's being selfish!"
Hanta narrowed his eyes at the purple midget. "Dude, you'd probably betray everyone here if you had the chance to go on their side too."
Minoru, even though he was embarrassed over being called out like that, didn't deny it. Instead, he snapped back with anger. "Oh shut up, don't act like you wouldn't do that too if given the chance! And that's not the point right now! If anything, we should do our best to prevent that bastard from being able to go on their side!"
"Haven't you ever heard of the bro code?" asked Eijiro, wondering why Minoru would prevent one of his classmates from getting with a girl.
"Of course I have!" snapped Minoru as he shifted his gaze onto Eijiro. "And Midoriya has betrayed the code! That's why we have to take action! Or else he's gonna hog all the girls!"
Some of the guys agreed with the short hero in training who were Denki, Hanta, Yosetsu, Sen and Kosei. Though Neito did as well but for different reasons and the biggest one was because he didn't like it that someone from 1A was trying to get closer to the girls from his class too. They all also believed that there was being too much favoritism being shown to Izuku right now. Sure, he saved them at the USJ and seemed like a decent person. But does that give him the right to basically do as he pleases or to get special accommodations by UA? Especially when it seemed that he was using it for his benefit to get closer to the girls? They certainly didn't think so.
But even so, the others weren't thinking like them. It did bother them and they were a little annoyed over Izuku trying to move into the girls' side. But they understood his request and it was a legitimate one. And they believed that he didn't seem like the type to do anything wrong or immoral after how he's behaved with them and what he's revealed.
One of them spoke up when it became silent between them all. "I suggest that you all calm down and cease this inappropriate and unhelpful conversation. Principal Nezu and UA will not just give in to a request on a whim. Since UA has already granted permission on their end, then that means that they believe that Midoriya-san will not do anything improper such as take advantage against our female classmates and that they trust him," commented Tenya while chopping his right arm repeatedly.
"Yeah, I-I agree with Iida-san," stated Koji while slightly away from most of the others but was standing next to Mezo. "He saved everyone. I d-don't think he's even thinking about any of that stuff…"
"I agree with both of them," chimed in Eijiro, cutting off Kosei and Minoru who were about to argue back. "Plus, he did tell us why he was asking for this. He's probably thinking about that poor little girl. I can't even imagine what she's going through."
Tetsu clapped a hand on his almost twin's shoulder. "I hear ya, bro. I hope we can do something to help out when she gets here," he said and Eijiro nodded.
"Well, whatever happens, it's ultimately up to the girls," remarked Hiryu, making them look at him. "There's no point arguing about this. And whether they agree or not, we just have to go with the flow."
Nobody said anything for a short while. Until Togaru just let out a huff before sharing his thoughts with them. "He's got a point. All of you should stop whining like little bitches. I thought we were gonna have actual important stuff to talk about. Not this crap. Whatever. I'm gonna go check out my dorm. Better than dealing with this bullshit," he said before he turned away from the group and walked away.
Some of the guys narrowed their eyes on him because of his insult but didn't say anything back. Well, at least not out loud. None of them wanted to deal with sharp blades at the moment.
"You know, we might as well go check it out too. Nothing else to do at the moment," suggested Rikido and he followed after him.
One by one, the boys decided to just go to their own individual dorms. Every single one of them, however, were lost in thought over what was going on and how none of them expected things to go this way at all. And the ones who were annoyed about Izuku's actions and request, held onto their beliefs, thoughts and feelings…

Thirteen girls were seated together on the couches in their exclusive common area. The doors leading to that area were locked to ensure their privacy as they discussed the request that was asked of them. Though they wanted to talk about this and get one another's opinions on this, no one spoke for a bit after they all sat down. Instead, there was just exchanging of glances or looking at the floor or ceiling.
After a short while with no one deciding to take the first move, Reiko decided to take control once more. Clearing her throat, her action made her the center of attention. "It's already been established what this meeting of ours is going to pertain to. I suggest we start since we have limited time and so that we may present our decision to our classmate who is awaiting our response."
"Yeah, you're right," spoke up Setsuna. She stretched her arms over her head as she spoke. "Well, we know the reason why behind Wonderboy's request. So, is there really anything to discuss?"
"Are you ever gonna stop calling him that?" asked Kyoka with narrowed eyes.
Grinning at the purple haired girl, Setsuna leaned back against the couch and rested her arms on top of her head. "Nope. Why should I? Am I lying or something?"
Kyoka huffed and crossed her arms. "Whatever."
"Okay, so!" interjected Itsuka rather loudly to prevent Setsuna from continuing. "Even with knowing Midoriya-san's reasoning behind his request, we should still talk it over."
Setsuna rolled her eyes. "Seriously? What's the point? UA already agreed so if they said its okay, why shouldn't we agree too?"
"You just want an excuse so you can be around him all the time," remarked Tsuyu bluntly.
"Guilty as charged," replied Setsuna while grinning. "I'm sure some of you want it too," she added before looking at a few others in the circle who looked away from her while reddening slightly.
"Well, going back to what was said, what if UA just said that so they wouldn't be the bad shroom in this?" suggested Kinoko.
"What do you mean?" asked Toru.
"UA owes Midoriya-san a great deal for his actions at the USJ. Perhaps they've agreed on his request with the condition that the final 'say-so' is on us so that they do not hinder relations with him," explained Reiko.
"But why would they do something like that? And why would they think something like that?" asked Ochaco.
"It makes sense actually."
"Huh?" Ochaco turned towards her newly made friend. "What do you mean?"
Momo glanced at Ochaco, then at the rest in the group who were giving her their attention. Unable to keep looking at them, she lowered her gaze slightly towards the coffee table before she explained. "Midoriya…is powerful. We've seen how he can go toe-to-toe with a monster that was created to kill All Might, the number one hero and the 'Symbol of Peace'. He just started UA and he's still young with incredible potential. No school in their right mind would do anything on purpose to create any sort of bad relationship with someone like him. They'd want to keep good relations no matter the cost. Possibly in hopes of being able to use him somehow."
Kyoka leaned back against the couch with her arms still crossed and a frown formed on her face. "Of course they would. As great as UA is, they probably still have to do things like that. Even though I don't like it, it makes sense," she grumbled.
"Hmm, that does sound reasonable, kero. Midoriya could be great for exposure and maybe for making new connections for UA once he shows off at the Sports Festival," commented Tsuyu.
"But does UA even need that? Would UA do something like that?" asked Toru.
"I believe that we're getting off topic here," remarked Ibara, wanting them to get back on track. She wanted to find out if her warrior angel would be living closer to her or not. For several reasons. "We don't know UA's reasons for why they agreed and we probably never will. What we should focus on is what Midoriya told us. He's asking this request of us because of that little girl."
"That's true…hey, Ochaco!"
"Yeah, Mina?"
"You saw the girl at the hospital right?"
"I still can't believe you got to spend some time with Wonderboy all alone," whined Setsuna rather loudly while giving a mock jealous look at Ochaco. "Lucky bitch," she commented and a couple of the girls felt that way too but didn't show it.
Ochaco noticed Itsuka jab Setsuna with her elbow. She figured it was because of her insult but she didn't care. Ochaco rolled her eyes. "He was unconscious. And it's not like anything happened."
"But I bet you did something or wanted something to happen, right?" questioned Setsuna with a smirk, earning herself another elbow jab along with Itsuka hissing at her to stop.
Ochaco's perpetual blush darkened a little and though it was noticed, no one said anything. She chose to ignore that question and faced Mina. "Yeah, I did see Eri there. So?" she asked her while doing her best to not look at the green haired girl who looked like she was still waiting for an answer. And so were a few others…
"You didn't say much about her. What's she like?" asked Mina.
After Mina's question to her, Ochaco wondered what she could share. "Well, I didn't get to interact with Eri much. But, she looks about five or six years old. She's got silverish white hair with red eyes and a single horn on the top right side of her forehead…"
"She's got horn?" asked Pony, curious to hear about another person who has horns like her.
"We got another horn buddy!" exclaimed Mina happily as she clapped her hands a couple times.
Some chuckles and giggles were let out before Ochaco continued. "Yeah, she's got a horn. But…what Midoriya said was true. She was super scared of me and was looking at me as if I was there to hurt her or something."
"Well, you can be rather scary," commented Momo offhandedly with a small smirk.
"Quiet you!" snapped Ochaco as she gave a half-hearted shove against her since they were seated on the same big couch together.
Their friendly interaction did not go unnoticed by the girls around them. Some exchanged surprised glances at one another while others gave curious looks. But no one said anything at the moment.
Momo noticed but Ochaco continued explaining while either being oblivious to their reactions or not caring. "Anyways, Eri barely said anything to me when I tried talking to her. She was sitting on the bed next to Midoriya. And she was holding onto his arm even when it was in a cast like it was both her lifeline and a shield against the world."
"Shit, I wouldn't mind holding onto his muscly and toned arm either. Especially if we were…"
"Stop," ordered Yui with her eyes narrowed at her green haired best friend while blushing a little.
Itsuka raised her hand as it enlarged. "Enough Set!"
"Owie!" Setsuna rubbed the top of her head. "Damn it, I was hoping you'd stop doing that since it's been a while."
"I'll only stop when you stop. And 'muscly' isn't even a word!" snapped Itsuka.
"I guess never then. I should probably buy some protective headgear. And says you! I invent words!" remarked Setsuna before laughing.
Itsuka shook her head while looking at her with a disappointed gaze before facing Ochaco again. "Sorry, go ahead."
"It's fine. I was pretty much done," replied Ochaco. "Eri seems just like Midoriya explained. Scared, shy and it really does look like she's attached to him. Makes sense because of what he said about her…"
It was quiet for a bit as they all thought about what Eri was said to have gone through. Until the American born girl decided to ask what was on her mind. "So, what now?" asked Pony.
"We decide if we agree to Izuku's request or not," said Kyoka.
"Hold on a sec," spoke up Itsuka. "We didn't really discuss anything."
"What else is there to discuss? Seriously, Girl Scout, what's the problem?" asked Setsuna, actually annoyed over her close friend being so uptight about this situation.
"The problem is that we're not giving this matter the attention it deserves and you're all missing the point. We're talking about a guy coming to stay with us on the girls' side of the dormitories even if it was for a good reason. UA separated us for a reason."
"Yeah, probably so we wouldn't be fuckin around all the time." Almost all the girl blushed at her words while some even let out yelps or squeaks of surprise but Setsuna didn't care. "But why do that when they don't prohibit relationships? Sounds stupid to me."
Itsuka let out an annoyed huff. "Set, you really need to look at things outside the box. UA can't really stop adults from doing things like that but they have to show some sort of professionalism as well as boundaries. But UA also doesn't want to coddle us or give us free rein to do as we please. They give us fair treatment, sound advice, limits and so on, so we can make the right decision and behave accordingly."
"What, they're trying to condition us into being obedient lap dogs? Is that what you're saying?"
"Oh goddamn it Set!" snapped Itsuka out of annoyance that made several of the girls become startled from her sudden outburst.
"I understand that Tokage is frustrating you, Kendo, but please refrain from using the Lord's name in vain," chastised Ibara suddenly.
"Sorry, Shiozaki." Itsuka took in a breath to calm herself down. "Anyways, they give us freedom to choose within reason because they're still a school and have to adhere to certain laws and try to make things look as good as possible. Understand?"
Setsuna shrugged with an uncaring expression on her face. "Whatever you say, Girl Scout. I still think it's stupid and pointless."
"What am I gonna do with you?" sighed Itsuka tiredly and Setsuna just shrugged again while smirking.
Understanding both girls' viewpoints, the others didn't say anything for a bit. Until Toru asked a question. "Kendo, I understand what you're saying, but why are you so against this?"
Facing her, Itsuka tilted her head. "What do you mean? I'm not against anything. I'm just trying to make sure that we decide on the right reasons and use facts instead of…" She glanced at Setsuna who was still smirking at her. "…other things, to make our decision." Glaring at her best friend, Itsuka's expression lightened up when she turned to face Toru. "I don't want any of us to regret this decision because we didn't think it through."
"I see."
"Well, what are we waiting for?!" asked Mina. Jumping off the couch onto her feet, she clapped her hands to get their attention. "Let's start sharing! I'll go first!"
After Mina started things off, the girls took turns sharing what they believed to be important facts and information about the green haired young man. They also talked about what would be the benefits of allowing him to stay on their side as well as the drawbacks to it. This went on for a good while as they brought up everything and anything that they could think of. From Izuku's behavior, to his actions, to what they'd have to deal with and what they were okay with and not okay with. What they'd be able to do and not do with him around. And they discussed the same regarding Eri as well.
When silence filled the area again, the girls glanced at one another. "Any more?" asked Yui.
Several shook their heads. "I think that's it," responded Kinoko.
"Alright. So, from what was brought up, it looks like there's hardly any real drawbacks to having him and Eri stay on our side," stated Kyoka.
"Privacy concerns and accidental things happening are still big ones though," remarked Itsuka.
"Eh, just relax, Girl Scout! We can easily make those a non issue," said Setsuna and Itsuka let out a sigh.
"If we decided, we make it official with vote?" asked Pony while alternating her gaze around.
"Fine with me," responded Tsuyu.
"But how will it go? Majority wins? Or everyone has to agree?" asked Momo.
"Majority," stated Yui and no one disagreed.
"All in favor?" asked Ochaco and she raised her hand afterward.
Momo, Kyoka, Mina, Toru, Yui, Kinoko, Ibara and Setsuna also raised their hands in favor of allowing Izuku to come onto their side of the dorms. Tsuyu, Itsuka, Pony and Reiko didn't raise their hands.
"The majority has it. Midoriya will be allowed to move into our side of the dorms," stated Ochaco. Getting to her feet, she did look at the four who didn't raise their hands. "I hope you don't think that we don't care about how you feel regarding this."
"Not at all. I don't know Midoriya-san that well to make a decision and that is why I didn't vote for him but I'm also not against him. I'm impartial to this," stated Reiko calmly in her monotone voice.
Pony shrugged while letting out a few chuckles. "I not sure what to do, that's why no vote."
Itsuka let out a sigh. "I still think it's not necessary. There are ways of helping him out with his request without him moving into our side of the dorms but I know when I'm beat. I just hope you all know what you're doing and that this doesn't cause more problems down the road."
"I'm sure it will be. But I'm surprised that you didn't vote for it, Tsu," remarked Ochaco as she looked at her friend.
Tsuyu didn't respond back immediately since she was thinking of how to respond. "I don't have anything against Midoriya and I understand what he's trying to do. I respect him and believe he's a good person. In fact, I need to thank him for saving my life and helping my little sister. But, I'm just not sure about this because of personal reasons."
"Oh…" Ochaco wondered what the personal reasons could be but figured her friend would tell her when she's ready.
Setsuna sprung to her feet. "Alright ladies! Let's go tell Wonderboy the good news." Without waiting for a reply, Setsuna grabbed hold of Itsuka and half-lifted her up onto her feet before dragging her along.
"I can move myself, Set!"
"I know!"
Following after the two, some of the girls chuckled at Setsuna's actions. But all of them were thinking about what they were about to do…
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Izuku was searching the internet on ways he could show his appreciation while waiting for the girls to come back and give him their answer to his request. He didn't have much luck since none of the stuff mentioned seemed appealing to him. While reading, he did glance at the two pros every now and then to see what they were doing.
Vlad was also on his phone while Shota kept napping away in his sleeping bag.
Every time he saw that, Izuku couldn't help but have the corners of his lips curl upwards into a very small, almost unnoticeable smile. It helped keep his mind from thinking about what the girls were discussing. But after trying a few more sites for ideas and not getting anywhere, he decided to put his phone away. Leaning back against the couch and raising his gaze towards the ceiling, Izuku closed his eyes and tried to relax a bit.
That didn't go according to plan since he started thinking about what the girls' answer would be. If they didn't agree to it, he'd have to make it up to Eri and figure things out from there. If they did agree, then Eri would be more comfortable and he'd definitely show his appreciation somehow to the girls for helping him out. Either way, he was at least glad that everyone had no issue with Eri coming to live with them in the dorms. He knew he'd have to come up with something but he wasn't able to think about it for long since he heard a door being opened thanks to the silence in the area.
Lowering his gaze and turning towards where the sound came from, Izuku saw the girls walking through the hallway that connected the main central area to their side. "Vlad-Sensei, Aizawa-Sensei, they're here," informed Izuku as he stood up.
"I know," replied back Vlad as he too stood up.
Shota was already getting out of his sleeping bag and straightening out without saying anything since he was aware of the door opening somehow. Picking up his sleeping bag, he did take a few steps towards the arriving party. Izuku and Vlad followed after him and the three stopped while still near the couches.
When the girls reached them, Shota spoke. "What's your decision?"
They glanced at one another before facing the three and gently pushed Reiko in front of them so she can answer for them. "After discussing his request, we decided to allow it."
Izuku felt as if a heavy weight was lifted off his shoulders. "Thank you. Thank you so much!" Izuku bowed once more towards the girls in a perfect ninety degree angle. "I promise you won't regret this!"
"We'll hold you to that, Midori," said Mina cheekily.
"But we do have some conditions," warned Itsuka.
Izuku straightened out. "Of course. I'd be surprised if you didn't have any. What are they?"
"Before we get into that," interrupted Shota, making the students listen to him. "UA was prepared in case you allowed this. Midoriya and Eri will stay on the first floor." Turning to his student, Shota made sure that Izuku was paying attention. "Midoriya, I don't think I need to tell you how much trust UA and your classmates are giving you. Don't abuse it because if you do, your special privilege will be revoked and Eri will have to leave. Along with other punishments. Understand?"
A serious expression formed on Izuku's face. "I do and I promise I won't do anything to cause issues."
"Good. We'll notify the UA builders immediately and they'll be here shortly. Remember, it'll take them some time to get everything ready and then you can move in." Izuku nodded in understanding and Shota glanced at Vlad. "Anything you want to add?"
"I do." Vlad addressed the girls. "Since we got an answer, we'll leave the rest to you since your adults. But I want a copy of the conditions you give Midoriya first thing Wednesday morning when classes resume." Without waiting for a response, Vlad turned towards Izuku. "And you need to sign it and date it. Got it?"
"Yes, sir."
"Good. Tell your classmates the news since we're not waiting for them. Let's go," said Shota as he heading towards the door rather quickly since he wanted to go continue his nap as soon as possible.
Vlad gave a curt nod towards Izuku and then gave another towards the girls before he too left.
After the pros left, Izuku turned towards the girls. "Again, thank you so much for working with me on this. I'm sure Eri will be happier and more comfortable. So, what are the conditions?"
"Well," started Kyoka, making Izuku look at her. With his entire attention on her, Kyoka felt something but ignored it. "For starters, you can't go to our floors. You can only go to your floor. Of course, that's not counting emergencies or life and death situations but only then can you go up to our floors. If you try any sneaky stuff, I don't know about the rest, but I won't take kindly to it." Her ear jacks floated up and pointed at him in a threatening manner.
Izuku held up his hands as if in mock surrender. "I gotcha but no need to worry about that. I promise I won't betray your trust."
Some of the girls gave serious expressions but Izuku didn't falter. After a moment, the redhead of 1B took over. "Better keep it, Midoriya. Secondly, if we decide to have a girls' time in the common area, you have to stay in your dorm or at least move quickly out of there towards your room or the main common area," continued Itsuka.
"Understandable and no problem with that," replied Izuku as he lowered his hands.
"And don't forget Midori," started Mina but she didn't continue until he shifted his gaze onto hers. "You also need to keep your promise of owing each of us one thing."
Chuckling a bit, Izuku nodded. "Anymore?" he asked them and the girls said that was it. "Okay. Your conditions are acceptable and I promise to keep my word and I'll do my best to be able to complete your request."
"Oh, I'm sure you'd be able to keep them. Well, at least mine," stated Setsuna with a sly smile and winked at Izuku.
Rubbing the back of his head while reddening slightly, Izuku noticed the glares being given at the green haired girl but didn't comment on it. "Well, like I said before, as long as it's within my ability and it's reasonable, I'll do the request. And I promise that none of you will regret this decision," said Izuku before smiling brightly at them.
Most of the girls were affected by his sunshine smile. Some blushed from it. Some even felt something whirling around inside of them. Some experienced both. Mina, Setsuna and even Toru, though you couldn't see the latter's expression, started smirking and already started thinking of what they could get Izuku to do with their request with the conditions he set.
"That's not fair!"
Jumping slightly at the sudden shouting, Izuku and the girls turned towards who shouted. They found some of the guys from their classes had entered the common area too. And the one who shouted was Minoru, looking every bit jealous and angry over what he was seeing. Sen, Kosei, Yosetsu, Hanta, Denki and Juzo were the ones with him. They were also annoyed as well but they were controlling themselves and not allowing it to be shown as much as Minoru.
"What's not fair?" asked Izuku, actually confused over why he'd say that.
Minoru growled since he had enough. He wanted to know Izuku's secrets and he'd learn them right now! "What's not fair is that you-HMPFF!"
Hanta suddenly wrapped up Minoru with his tape, preventing the miniature hero in training from continuing on. "Sorry about that. Mineta's just a little out of it right now." Minoru gave a scathing look towards Hanta but it was ignored.
Izuku didn't say anything for a moment until he shrugged. "Okay, I guess."
"So, what's going on?" asked Denki, looking first at Izuku, then at Kyoka who didn't seem to notice him at all.
"Did you come up with an answer?" asked Sen while looking around them all.
"Sure did!" replied Toru enthusiastically.
"Wonderboy's gonna be living on our side," answered Setsuna with a grin as she got closer to Izuku and wrapped her arm around his while pressing against his side.
Izuku blushed over her actions and partly because of her nickname. Doing his best to ignore the sensations pressing against him like he did before with Mina, he kept his head up even as he noticed the jealous looks on some of the guys' faces. He also saw how some of the girls narrowed their eyes on Setsuna too. Damn it, can anything else happen right now so I can get out of this? I'll even face that Nomu again instead of trying to deal with all this…
The dorm building doors opened and they all turned towards it in time to see half a dozen UA workers enter and walk up to them.
"Who's Midoriya?" asked one of them who seemed to be the supervisor of the group.
Thank you timing! Thankful for the sudden interruption and using it to his benefit, Izuku slipped out of Setsuna's grasp. He did hear her take in a sharp breath as he did so but pretended he didn't hear it and focused on the UA personnel as he stepped towards them. "Hey there, I'm Izuku Midoriya."
"Alright. I'm supervisor Tanjiro and this is my crew. So the job is combing two dorm rooms on one side of the first floor into one. It'll still have one full bathroom with a walk-in shower and tub. Your closet we can make larger thanks to the extra space. Any other requests while we're at it?"
Izuku shook his head. "No, sir. It's gonna be just for me and the little girl I'm helping. I'm sure all of that will be more than enough for us."
"Alright then. You heard him boys! Let's get to work!" Moving as one, Tanjiro and his crew headed towards the girls' side so they could do their job.
"Damn, they here fast," remarked Pony while watching them go.
"UA doesn't play around, huh?" asked Kosei. "By the way, have you checked out your dorms yet?"
"Not yet," replied Pony.
"You should check them out. They're pretty cool," suggested Juzo.
"Shroom's got a point," agreed Kinoko before she turned towards her dorm and headed towards it.
"We should go too. We'll see you guys later," said Tsuyu. She and the rest of the girls left the main area. And as they did so, about half of the girls glanced back at Izuku before facing forward again.
Once the girls left, one of the guys let out his frustration. "Damn it, how the hell are you so lucky?"
Izuku turned towards the one who spoke. "Lucky?"
"Yeah! You pretty much got all the girls interested in you!" replied Yosetsu, looking peeved.
Rubbing the back of his head, Izuku became embarrassed with his cheeks reddening since he noticed that they were all upset. Toshinori's words echoed in his mind again about having admirers. "Well, it's not like I'm trying to do that on purpose and I get that they might be interested, but the girls are probably still getting over what happened at the USJ. Once things calm down, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up not being that interested in me anymore since I'm not that special," said Izuku.
Izuku had learned a lot from his sessions with Natasha and Nemuri on how he should be confident, hold himself high and more. But they had also let him know it was alright to keep his humble behavior because what they taught him didn't mean that he could be arrogant, believe that he was better than others or that he deserved anything just because of whatever he did. Though the earlier thoughts he had on this particular subject were still prevalent as they flowed through his mind. Man, what am I gonna do? What am I supposed to do? I don't want to miss a chance if there's one with a girl. But I also don't want to start things off on the wrong foot with the guys either…
Dumbfounded expressions formed on the guys faces. They couldn't believe it. How could Izuku even think like this when he has the perfect opportunity to get a girl after everything he did and what he's capable of? Hell, if he played his cards right, he might even be able to get with multiple at the same time! But instead, he's denying it and playing it off as just post battle jitters?
"Dude, are…are you being serious right now?" asked Hanta in a whisper.
Before Izuku could reply back, someone else spoke up. "Great. We got a mini-All Might here and he's humble as fuck. There goes our chances with the girls," huffed Yosetsu in frustration while throwing his arms into the air as if to portray that he gave up.
Izuku reddened even more from his words. "I-I appreciate the compliments but I'm not trying to be All Might. And I'm not planning anything with the girls. Right now I'm just trying to make sure things will be good for Eri."
No one believed him since his words fell on deaf ears. "Yeah, sure dude. Let us know when they stop being interested in you," said Denki sarcastically before turning around and heading back towards his dorm. His hands clenched into fists as he thought about how Kyoka didn't even glance at him but kept her attention on Izuku almost the entire time.
"Don't take it the wrong way, Midoriya. He's just going through some things," said Hanta, knowing the reason why Denki was frustrated since they had talked a bit. Without waiting for a response, he went after his friend while carrying Minoru who was sporting a shocked expression on his face over what he heard and was still tied up. "Yo, Kaminari, hold up!" called out Hanta as he started going after him.
Izuku could only let out a sigh. He couldn't make them believe him but he already said his piece. There was no point trying to make them understand or believe him at the moment. But it still did hurt. "Yeah, sure, thanks," replied Izuku as neutrally as he could. Directing his attention to the four left behind, Izuku waited for them to say something. "So…"
Sen, Kosei, Yosetsu and Juzo glanced at one another before facing Izuku. Right before it got awkward, one of them decided to get out of there and found the perfect excuse. "Well, I think we should go make sure everything's alright in our dorms too since the builders are here. See ya," said Juzo and he left right afterwards.
"Yeah, that's a good idea."
"I think I did have a problem."
Following Juzo's example, both Kosei and Yosetsu left quickly too.
Being the last one left, Sen turned his body enough so he could see the three leave and enter their common area. Wondering what he should do, Sen made a choice after a few seconds. He faced Izuku once more. "Sorry man. Just don't take it personal. They're just…mad and stressed out for several reasons. I still think you're a good guy okay? But I'm gonna go check on them." And with that, Sen left the area too while saying a quick bye.
After watching them all leave, Izuku felt conflicted. On one hand, he was glad that they didn't try to pursue the subject. But on the other, he didn't like how they just left like that after letting it be known how they didn't like what was happening. Though he understood, he still felt sullen. And then he started feeling anger rise within him. Why were they blaming him? He couldn't control other people's behavior or actions, especially the girls'. Was it his fault that he ended up saving them and causing them to have some sort of affection for him?
Not wanting to dwell on that, Izuku went back to the couches. No point getting annoyed or angry about it. I should try and distract myself for the time being until my room's done. Sitting down on the couch opposite the TV, he took in a few breaths and exhaled them out so he could calm down. After that, he decided to find something to watch as he waited for his room to be finished. Finding a really old movie titled "A Knight's Tale", he decided to watch that.
But as he attempted to watch the movie and distract himself, he couldn't help but think some things. And one of them was how he hoped that all the guys didn't behave the same as the ones who were just there. He wanted things to be different compared to his past school experiences. He wanted to have actual friends this time around at the very least. He couldn't help but think if there might be something he could do to help make that wish of his into reality.
Maybe Mom or Toshinori might know of something? Taking out his phone, he called his mentor to see if they might know of anything that could help him.
After a few rings, Toshinori picked up. "Hey, Midoriya. Your mother and I were just wondering how things are. All good, my boy? Did they accept?"
"Everything's fine. And yeah, they did accept with some conditions placed but it's nothing I can't handle so it's all good. Eri should be able to come stay with me soon."
"That's great!" exclaimed Inko suddenly and Izuku realized he was on speaker. "Did you hear that, Eri?"
"Y-Yes. I'm happy. T-Thank you Papa. When can I-I come there?"
Izuku couldn't help it and smiled after hearing his daughter say that. "I'm happy too Eri. The first part's done and once I'm settled in, you'll be able to come stay with me at UA. Just give me a couple days. Okay Eri?"
"O-Okay Papa."
"Thank you Eri. By the way, I called because I just wanted some advice on something."
"What is it? Is it private?" asked Inko. Her son said that it was. Inko and Toshinori moved a little away from Eri while telling her to stay in the living room. Eri understood that it was important and didn't whine about it. "Okay, go ahead," said Inko once they were sure Eri couldn't hear.
Izuku explained what happened earlier and what was on his mind. In the end, he asked them what he could do to make things better with his classmates and hopefully ease some of the tension. And he asked how he could show his appreciation to everyone regarding the situation with Eri.
"I see. Well, as far as the things go regarding your fellow peers, just leave them be Izuku," advised Inko. "Sometimes, people need to deal with things on their own. And no matter what happens regarding that, remember that it's not your fault if they can't handle that you have attention and they don't."
Izuku let out a sigh. "Y-Yeah, you're right Mom. I just…wanted things to be different at UA. I don't want to have to deal with people not liking me again in school. Kacchan was enough."
"I know honey," said Inko softly. "Unfortunately, nowhere is perfect. Not even UA. Just focus on the positives okay? There's far more of that than negatives. You're in the best hero school. You're gonna have Eri come live with you. You saved so many people already. And you have so many admirers that I'm sure you'll be able to make friends easily enough. I bet even from the boys. Just keep your chin up, Izuku. You got this!"
A smile formed on his face after hearing his mother's words. "Taking a leaf out of Dr. Dobrev's book, huh? But still, thanks Mom. You're right. I'm gonna focus on the positives and not worry about what I can't control. But back to the other part; what can I do?"
Silence for a few seconds until Toshinori thought of something. "Young Midoriya, I think I got an idea."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"Wow, this looks awesome!"
Izuku was inside his newly renovated dorm room after the builders had come get him to check out his new living quarters. Marveling over how quickly they renovated and combined the two dorm units into one as well as how great everything looked, Izuku was impressed. The door of his dorm was right in the middle. As soon as he had entered, to his right was the dresser and to his left was the desk. Both were up against the dorm door wall. Up against the opposite side wall, on the right was his bed and on the left was a couch. Directly opposite of the dorm door was a sliding balcony door, which led into a decently sized balcony. On the left wall were two doors. The left one led into the bathroom and the right one was a walk-in closet. All in all, his new dorm room was very spacious and he doubted that he and Eri would need more room than this.
Turning to the UA builders, Izuku gave them a bow before straightening. "Thank you so much. It all looks great. If there's anything I can do to repay you for your quick and incredible work, please let me know."
"Thanks kid, but don't worry about it," replied Tanjiro as he waved his hand. "It's our job and Nezu would skin us alive if we tried to make UA students do something for us like that. If anything, just a good word or two about us to him is enough."
"Okay, you got it," stated Izuku as he raised his left hand.
Tanjiro grasped his hand and shook it. "Thanks kid. Good luck!" he said with a smile. Letting go, he turned to his crew. "Alright you lot, let's get outta here!"
Once they left, Izuku closed the door behind him. Now alone in the privacy of his new dorm, Izuku took one more look around at everything. Part of him still couldn't believe it. He was at UA and in his own room. Yes, he was going to share it with Eri, but even so, it was still his as long as he remained at UA. Unable to help himself, a large, goofy grin formed on his face. Yup, I already like it here…
*RING*RING*RING*
Jumping slightly from being startled by his phone, Izuku took it out and saw who was calling him. "Hey, Toshinori."
"Young Midoriya, are you free right now?"
"Actually, yeah. I was just checking out my new dorm. It's pretty nice."
"Ah, they got it done already? Impressive since it only took about four hours. Anyway, this is actually good timing since its almost dinner time. The order I got for you should be there very soon. You might want to get things ready for it and let your dorm mates know."
"You got a point. And thanks for the help. I'll pay you back for this," said Izuku.
Toshinori laughed a bit before he started coughing a little, making Izuku become concerned. "I'm fine, my boy. A little laughing and coughing isn't gonna stop me. And what are you talking about? You've done far more for me than you realize. So don't even worry about it, alright?"
Feeling his eyes becoming watery from emotion, Izuku did his best to not start crying because of his words. "T-Thank you, Toshinori."
"Hey, don't get all emotional on me now kid. Otherwise, I'm gonna start too," joked Toshinori. "By the way, remember what Inko and I told ya. No matter what happens, keep your head up and stand tall my boy. You deserve all the good coming your way and if others get jealous or don't like it, well, too bad for them. Now go, get to know your classmates and have some fun."
Chuckling a little, Izuku composed himself. "Thanks and I will. Watch over Mom and Eri for me."
"Of course I will and if not me, I'll have my best keeping an eye on them. See ya!"
Izuku smiled. "Thanks. Bye Toshinori."
Hanging up the phone, he saw the time on it. Yeah, it's almost dinner time. Might as well get to the main area so I can be ready for the delivery. Hope whatever this 'American Party Extravaganza' is bringing will be good food that everyone'll enjoy…
Making his way out of the room, Izuku had barely stepped out into the hallway when he noticed someone there a few feet away from him. "Oh, h-hey, Uraraka-san," he said, surprised to see her there. "Did you need something?"
Ochaco had finished putting away and organizing her belongings in her room. She didn't have a lot of material possessions due to her financial situation. But it did allow her to finish up quicker than the other girls. When she did complete her task of getting everything ready, she checked on her friends. Most of them were still busy unpacking and barely halfway done. Only one other, Ibara, was almost done because she moved quickly but still had a good amount of things to do.
Seeing how her friends were busy and she didn't want to bother them, Ochaco wondered what she could do in the meanwhile. That was when she remembered about Izuku and his situation. She decided to check on him, see if his room was done and if he needed any help. He did only have the use of one arm at the moment and she did say that she'll help him out.
"Hey Midoriya," greeted Ochaco, taking a step closer to him. "I'm good, thanks. Just wanted to see if your room was done and if you needed any help?" she asked.
Flattered over her concern and wanting to help him, Izuku smiled at her. "That's kind of you. Thank you. I appreciate it."
Ochaco's pink cheeks reddened a little more. "It's n-no problem and you're welcome," she said while doing her best to remain composed but inside she was feeling something. Ah, not now!
"Actually, Uraraka-san, there is something you can help me with, if you don't mind."
His words made her curious. "Yeah, sure. What is it?"
"Can you go get all the girls and bring them to the dining tables in the main area?"
"Ah, yeah, I don't see why not. Is…Is there something else you wanted to ask us?"
"Oh no, nothing like that. I'm also gonna get the guys too to join us. I just have something for everyone."
"Oh." Ochaco was silent for a second. "Okay, I'll do that. See ya there in a bit!" she told him as she turned around and went to get the rest.
"Thanks again!" said Izuku after her.
Ochaco glanced back with a smile before she faced forward and went up the stairs instead of taking the elevator since she didn't want to wait for it.
Feeling something warm after seeing her smile at him, Izuku didn't move for two seconds before he snapped out of it and headed to the stairs himself. Wow, she sure has a pretty smile… Her image formed in his mind and Izuku kept thinking about her until he remembered something as he reached the ground floor. I still have to thank her for staying by my side at the hospital. I'll do that in private the first chance I get since I don't want to embarrass her or anything. As he made his way to the guys' side of the dorms, Izuku thought about how and when he could do that…
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Izuku stood in front of his fellow first years that had come down to the dining tables in the main common area and some were speaking with one another. It didn't take too long for them to gather luckily. Only one person didn't join them who was Shoto but he didn't say why. Either way, Izuku was glad that everyone else had listened.
"Alright, you got us here. What's going on? You'd better have a good reason for this," said Neito in a rather loud and serious tone that caught everyone's attention.
Tetsutetsu rolled his eyes before clapping his back, making him stumble forward a bit. "Shit, my bad bro. But you need to relax a bit," he said and Neito glared at him after regaining his balance.
"Midoriya-san would probably inform us if given the opportunity. So why don't we be silent and await his response," suggested Jurota.
After everyone quieted down and shifted their gaze onto Izuku, if they hadn't already, the green haired young man rubbed the back of his neck for a second as he started talking. "Thanks for listening and thanks for coming down. The reason for it is because I wanted to once again thank you all for what you're doing for Eri. And that's…"
*DING DONG*
The dorm building's door bell was heard and everyone turned towards the door with all but one wondering who it could be.
"That's probably them," stated Izuku as he moved towards the door.
"Who's 'them'?" asked Mezo.
"You'll see," replied Izuku. Reaching the door, he opened it and smiled at the new arrivals. "Hey, thanks for the delivery. Just take it straight to the tables please Mr. ah…"
"Name's Brock and no problem." said the lead person, who was dressed in a delivery uniform that was colored red, white and blue. "You heard him so get moving!" He walked inside and led his team towards the dining tables. A group of six, all dressed the same, quickly moved to the tables while carrying several large bags, boxes and got to work.
When Izuku rejoined the others, they looked at him before many kept alternating their gaze to the new group of people who were busy setting up the tables. "Did you order something Midoriya?" asked Hiryu.
"Did you get us food?" asked Rikido.
"Yea," confirmed Izuku. "I wanted to show my appreciation and this is what a close family friend of mine suggested."
"Alright, we're done," informed Brock as he went towards Izuku. "Remember to give us five stars if everything is to your liking. See ya around!" Without waiting for a reply, Brock and his team left the dorm building.
After the crew left, all thirty-eight students looked at what they did. The tables had many covered bowls and platters spaced evenly throughout the tables. There were heavy duty paper plates, plastic red cups, durable plastic utensils and disposable handkerchiefs in front of each chair all in red, blue and white colors. The tables had been maneuvered to be one large square so they could all see one another.
"Well, everyone take a seat and let's see how everything is," suggested Izuku.
"Thanks Midoriya."
"This is very kind of you."
"Alright! I was getting hungry too!"
"Hmm, I guess I can eat."
"Shut up, you know you're hungry."
"I wonder if it's five star quality?"
More comments were made as everyone began taking their seats. When Izuku was about to head towards a chair in a corner, someone grabbed hold of his arm, making him jump slightly.
"Easy there, Midori," teased Mina while grinning at him. "Where do you think you're going?"
"Ah, to sit down?" answered Izuku honestly.
"Not over there you're not. C'mon! You're gonna sit with us again. And this time, you're not leaving early!"
"Okay, okay! You can let me go."
"Nope!" replied Mina as she maneuvered him towards an empty seat and had him sit down before she sat next to him on his right.
"Thanks for the grub, Wonderboy," remarked Setsuna with a smirk as she sat down on his left.
Oh no…. Izuku realized that he was in the middle of two girls who were very extroverted and flirty. He wondered if he'd end up dying from embarrassment in the near future. As soon as he had that thought, he could've sworn he heard very faint giggling coming from somewhere but he couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
Deciding to forget about that and focus on just staying calm and composed, Izuku took in a subtle breath. "You're welcome Tokage-san," he said before looking around as everyone sat down. Noticing how most of the same guys from before were giving him the stink eye and a few of the girls looked peeved, Izuku did his best to ignore it. "So what are we waiting for? Let's open'em up," said Izuku with a smile as he reached over and took off the cover on one of the platters.
Even the ones who weren't happy with Izuku getting so much attention right now couldn't argue against that. They and everyone else proceeded to uncover the bowls, platters and plates.
"Oh wow, even food is American themed?!" exclaimed Pony happily.
The revealed dishes were many popular foods from America. Ten extra-large pizzas that consisted of four pepperoni, two meat lovers, two vegetarian and two cheese. About four hundred chicken wings in total covered in different sauces of one hundred each of lemon pepper, Louisiana rub, garlic parmesan and plain. Ten large bowls of salads with five being chicken Caesar-salads and five garden salads. Dozens of one liter bottles of different sodas and juices were also provided.
"That's a lot of food," commented Nirengeki.
"You can say that again," agreed Denki.
"We shouldn't allow this meal to go to waste," said Tenya in a rather too serious tone of voice.
"Yeah, you're right dude but you should relax a bit," suggested Tetsutetsu as he took a slice of meat lover's pizza.
"Before we indulge, we should thank the one who provided this meal for us," advised Jurota and most of them thanked Izuku for doing this for him.
"You're welcome everyone. Enjoy!" replied Izuku with a smile.
Soon enough, they all became preoccupied with grabbing and eating their food. Passing plates and bowls over to one another. It was relatively silent as they focused more on eating than talking. But as time went on, little by little, the quiet atmosphere transformed into a more lively and enjoyable one. Comments were made on the taste of the wing sauces or different pizza toppings. Jokes were said to one another. A few ended up having a small competition to see who could eat more wings in a minute. Friendly arguments were made on which pizza toppings were better than others. All in all, everything was going great and it continued like this for some time.
Izuku was glad that everything worked out better than he thought it'd go. He was at first worried that his mentor's idea might not work. But he should've realized that the number one hero was right as soon as he mentioned his idea. Food, especially good food, being eaten together helps bring people closer.
"Hey, Midori."
Turning to his right, Izuku looked into the pink girl's black and orange eyes. "Ashido-san?"
Mina pouted. "Didn't I say you can call me 'Mina'?"
"Yeah. But I…"
"Nope! C'mon! Say it!" Moving closer to him, Mina's face was barely a few inches away from Izuku's. "Miiiinaaaa. C'mon Midori, it's not that hard, you can say it. Mina!"
Izuku's face reddened from the close proximity to her. His heart skipped a beat too at the intense look she was giving him. He took in a breath to compose himself before he answered. "Okay. Mina." Smiling brightly, Mina let out a cheer before she hugged him tightly, making his blush intensify.
From the corner of his eyes, he noticed how many, both guys and girls, were looking at him and Mina with varying expressions on their faces. Some amused. Some jealous. Some annoyed. But he didn't let it affect him so much as he remembered Toshinori's and his mother's words.
"So, what did you want to say?" asked Izuku when the two separated.
"Oh right, that." Mina tilted her head and was quiet for a second. "Huh, guess I forgot," she said before chuckling at herself.
"Oh really?" asked Setsuna, making both Mina and Izuku turn to their left to look at her. A sly smirk was on her face. "I know what you're up to girl."
Mina quirked an eyebrow. "Oh really?"
"Yeah. Don't worry though. I won't ruin your playbook. But don't think I don't have some tricks up my sleeves either. You're not the only player here," said Setsuna with a knowing glint in her eye.
Izuku, stuck in between the two girls who were now giving rather concerning looks to one another, had a slight idea about what was going on. Not wanting to cause a scene and not wanting to find out if he was right or not, tried to find a way out of the situation. Noticing someone looking their way, Izuku decided to shift the attention elsewhere. "Hey, you were at the super market with Mina that day right?" Izuku's question made the two girls and everyone else look at the hardening redhead. "You're name was…um…"
"Eijiro Kirishima. And yea, Mina and I were there that day," replied back Eijiro as calmly as he could. He was somewhat annoyed and agitated that his childhood friend was being so close and friendly with Izuku. Eijiro knew he couldn't blame the guy and knew that he was wrong on how he acted with Mina before, but did he have to like what he was seeing? No, he didn't. Yet, he had decided to give the guy a chance and to do what it took to get his childhood friend and crush, who also admitted that she did like him too, back. "I never did thank you for saving us."
Izuku shook his head. "And you never have to. I just did what any good person would do."
This guy…damn it… Unable to help himself, Eijiro grinned. "Not gonna lie, that was pretty manly what you said. So was you lifting the entire building ceiling up by yourself."
"What?!"
"He did that?!"
The guys were surprised to hear that Izuku lifted an entire building's ceiling up while the girls were reminded of what Mina had told them.
Izuku blushed a bit from the praise but kept his head up. He did rub the back of his head though out of habit from embarrassment. "Thanks but like I said, I just did what was right."
"What's your quirk?"
Izuku turned his gaze towards the one who suddenly asked that. "My quirk?"
"Did I stutter? Or are you just hard of hearing?" asked Neito with a condescending tone.
Izuku was momentarily confused by the sudden hostility coming from the blonde. What's his problem? Slight anger filled him but he controlled it. Wanting to find out what the deal was, he opened his mouth to say something.
But someone else spoke up and interrupted him. "I thought we were done with asshole blondes for the week but it looks like we still have one here," commented Kyoka while glaring at Neito.
"What'd you call me?!" shot Neito angrily.
"Whoa, relax man," said Denki, not wanting to start a fight or something with him but he also didn't like how he snapped at the girl he liked.
"How about you two 1A punks stay out of my business?" snapped Neito.
"Ah, weren't you just talking to someone from 1A?" questioned Rikido.
Neito narrowed his eyes. "That's not the point. And I…"
"Monoma! Shut! Up!" hissed Itsuka angrily, making Neito glare at her angrily but he didn't say anything else just yet. Seeing him pacified for the moment, she shook her head before apologizing to Denki and Kyoka for his behavior. After they said it wasn't her fault, she nodded and turned towards Izuku. "Sorry Midoriya. Please don't mind him. He's just uptight about some things but he's harmless," she said, ignoring the grumbles coming from Neito.
"I don't blame you Kendo-san, so you don't worry about it." Izuku shifted his gaze onto Neito before narrowing his eye and furrowing his brow. "Let me make one thing clear. I don't hold grudges but I don't like bullies. Got it?"
Neito crossed his arms and glared back at Izuku. "Hmph. You never answered my question."
Izuku let out a sigh but before he could say anything, Tenya stood up suddenly and addressed everyone. "I don't think now would be a good time. We're getting close to curfew."
Everyone glanced at their phones, the clock hanging on the wall or their watches. Tenya was right since it was already ten passed nine. They all wondered just how the time went so fast…
"Hey, we don't have classes tomorrow remember?" spoke up Toru.
"Yeah, she's right. So we don't have to worry about curfew," said Kosei.
"Even so, we should follow responsible behavior to make it a habit so we don't make mistakes. We were cautioned how our spots are always up for grabs. We must remain vigilant," advised Reiko.
"Yanagi is right. We can hang out more tomorrow. C'mon people, up we get," said Itsuka.
Groans and grumbles were let out but no one argued anymore. As a result, they all got off their chairs and started cleaning up. Packing up the food and combining them so they took up less space, they put the leftovers in the fridge. Then, they threw away the trash into garbage bags before tying them up and placing them by the door to throw out in the morning. Once finished, they bade each other goodnight and went to their respective sides of the dorms. Though some of the guys did glance at Izuku with varying expressions as he made his way to his dorm on the girls' side but they said nothing.
Izuku bade the girls a goodnight before he took the stairs. He didn't want to bother the girls because it would've been a little bit of a tight fit. Plus, he only had one floor he had to go up so it wasn't a big deal. When he entered his room, he realized that he still hadn't brought up his belongings. Groaning, he decided to just sleep in his boxers this night. Taking off his day clothes, though with some difficulty thanks to his still casted arm, when he finished he got into bed and brought up the covers.
He didn't go to sleep immediately however. Lying down on his back, Izuku had many thoughts run through his head. After some time, decided to stop thinking about things he couldn't control and just focus on getting things ready for Eri. Turning to his side, he closed his eyes and thankfully, sleep came to him in just a few minutes.
