Back at the Lookout.
Down in the Basement.
The Four of Them had split Up,Across the Basement,To look for the Map,That had All the Secret Passageways,Marshall and Tracker going One Way,And,Rex and Everest going the Other.
Marshall and Tracker were,Looking on the East Side of the Basement,While,Everest and Rex were,Looking on the West Side.
Marshall led his and Tracker's Team,Taking the Lead,With his Super Sniffer,Hoping to find It,Before,Tracker did.
Marshall Sniffed and Sniffed,For the Map of the Lookout,But,He,Currently,Wasn't finding It.
Tracker,Just let Him lead the Way,Considering,How Angry Marshall seemed to Look,To Him.
"So,Um,Marshall,I've got a Question for You," Tracker brought Up as He followed Marshall,Who was,Still Sniffing the Ground,For the Map.
"Is This Important for This Exact Moment?" Marshall questioned,Firmly,as He continued to Sniff,Around for It.
"Uh,I think So,Marshall," Tracker voiced,In a Calm Tone,Trying to stay the Calm One of the Situation.
"Yeah,Well,I think,We disagree,On That One," Marshall admitted,Angrily.
"Why do You hate Me So Much,Amigo?" Tracker mentioned.
"I'm not your Amigo,Tracker," Marshall shot Back,Furiously,Getting Angrier and Angrier,The More,That,Tracker Talked.
"What the Heck did I do to You? What did Everest do to You? Why do You get So Mad at Me,When I hang Around,Or,Remotely Interact with Her?" Tracker interrogated,Really wanting to get to the Bottom of,What had been going On,With Him,Lately.
"Pfft,You act the Same Way,Don't Act like You're All Innocent," Marshall pointed Out as He commanded Him,To Stop acting like He was being the Innocent One.
"Cause,I like Everest,I do,I've had Feelings for Her,Ever Since,I first met Her,Kind Of,Like,Love at First Sight,Except,It was,Just a Crush,Then,But,They've continued to develop to Something More,The More,That,I have gotten to know Her,They,Especially,Came to develop the Most,When I had left Back to the Jungle,I Guess,It is True,What They say,About Absence making the Heart grow Fonder," Tracker explained as He stopped,Following Marshall,To confess to Him,About his Feelings for Everest,Before,Explaining to Him,How It Started,And,How It developed to the Feelings,That,He had Today.
"Yeah,Well,You're not the Only One," Marshall whispered to Himself,as He,Just continued to Sniff the Ground,For the Map,Keeping his Mind focused on Task.
"Wait,You like Her,Too?" Tracker wondered,Hearing,What Marshall had Whispered,as He asked Him,Just to make Sure,That,He wasn't Assuming Anything.
"You weren't supposed to hear That," Marshall said.
"Yeah,I bet,I wasn't,But,I heard It,Anyway,Considering,I am Dog,Just like You,So,I can hear,Just as Well as You," Tracker informed.
"Okay,Fine,Yes,I like Her,Too,I've had feelings for Her,For a Long Time,As Well,However, To be Honest,I saw Her First,And,Started liking Her First,So,It,Kind of gives Me First Dibs," Marshall confessed as He,Then,Started to Explain to Tracker,How She was His Girl,And,Not Tracker's,Before,Going Back to Looking.
"So,What are We gonna do about It? We both love Her," Tracker asked,Wanting to Know,What was going to Happen Next,With Everest.
"Well,I can tell You,What You are gonna do,You're gonna Back Off,And,Let Me have the Girl,That,I love," Marshall warned,as He turned Around,To Face Tracker,And,Began to back Him Up,Into a Corner,While,Telling Him,What He was going to have Tracker do.
After Marshall finished his Saying,What He was Talking to Him About,He,Turned Back towards the Way,That,They were Searching,And,Continued Looking for the Map.
The Minute,That,Tracker saw Marshall walk Ahead,Out of his Sight,Tracker Frowned.
"Not a Chance,Marshall,You wanna play It,This Way,Competidor,I can,Too," Tracker muttered to Himself,as He put On his Serious Face,And,Ran,After Marshall,Hopefully,To find the Map,Before,He did,So,He could show Everest,How Cool,That,He was.
Meanwhile.
On the West Side.
Everest was leading the Way,Out of Her and Rex's Team,While,Rex was,Just hanging Back,Trying to contact Liam,Through his Pup Tag.
"Liam! Liam! Me,Everest,Marshall and Tracker are Safe. What is Your Status? How is your Mission?" Rex announced,Into his Pup Tag,Still,Trying to get Ahold of Him,Through his Pup Tag,as He asked Liam,How It was going on Their Side.
"Still No Answer?" Everest guessed,as She continued Sniffing,For Any Slight Smell of an Old Map.
"No,He's,Still,Not Answering,I've been,Trying to contact Him for Hours,And,I've gotten Nothing,But,Static,I'm starting to get Worried about Him and the Other Team,The Five of Them haven't checked In,In Awhile," Rex replied,as He explained to Her,Why,He was,So Concerned.
"Look,Rex,I'm Sure,He is Okay,The Rest of Them,As Well,Don't Worry about It,He's,Probably,Just Busy doing Something Stupid on the Mission,Chase and Zuma have told Me,That,He likes to do a Lot of Stupid Stuff,During his Missions,And,Well,Rocky says,That,He'll,Do A Lot of Crazy Things on Missions,Too," Everest reassured,Softly,as She turned Around,To face Him,Before,Putting Her Paw on his Shoulder,And,Beginning to Think about,Funny Things,In Her Opinion,That,The Others had told Her.
Everest Smiled,While,Continuing to Say,What,She thought was Funny.
That was.
Until.
She,Actually,Thought about,What She was Saying,as She,Then,Looked Up at Rex,To see Him,With an Extremely Worried Face On.
"Oh,That's not Helping,Is It?" Everest realized,Realizing,That,She wasn't Helping,as She looked at Him,With a Worried Look.
"We gotta Hurry Up,And,Get Out of Here," Rex stated as He,Just stood There,With the Worried Face.
"W-Why don't You Try contacting Him,Again,On your Pup Tag,Maybe,He'll answer,This Time," Everest suggested,Nervously,Discovering a Way,To get Him to feel Better,Without Rushing Their Mission,Too Fast,To the Point,That,They get Caught.
"Good Idea,Everest,Maybe,That might make Me feel Better. Liam! Liam! Are You There?" Rex agreed,Finding Her Idea,Good Enough,To Try,as He,Once Again,Talked,Into his Pup Tag,Hoping to hear Liam's Voice,This Time.
Simultaneously.
Back on the Island,That was Now,Clear of Rain,Since,It had,Recently Stopped.
In the Abandoned Cabin.
Chase,Zuma,Liam and Skye were All Shouting,Amongst Each Other,Talking about,What had,Just Happened.
"What was That Thing?" Skye questioned,Fearfully.
"I-I don't Know,It,Definitely,Wasn't Human,And,Most,Likely,Had Everything to do with Rubble's Disappearance," Liam explained,as He,Still Panted,From All the Running,That,They had,Recently Did.
"It didn't make Him Disappear,It ate Him,And,It,It,Just took Wocky,Without Hesitation,It ate Him,Too," Zuma brought Up,Bringing It Up,Out of the Shock of,Seeing One of his Best Friends get Attacked and,Possibly,Eaten.
"Maybe,Those Kidnappers have Something to do with This Creature," Chase voiced,Mentioning a Slight Possibility of,What was going On.
"Maybe,But,That's a Very Slight Chance," Skye informed,Negatively,Not seeing,What Chase,Just Mentioned as Very Helpful.
"Guys,Shush!" Liam commanded.
"It's not,Even a Slight Chance,There is No Chance,Those Kidnappers would have been killed by That Thing,If They,Even got Near It," Zuma retorted.
"Guys,Be Quiet," Liam ordered.
"I Disagree with That,Zuma,There is a Slight Possibility,And,If,It's Slight,Than,It is Worth,Taking a Chance," Chase pointed Out.
"GUYS,SHUT UP!!!!" Liam demanded,Angrily.
"Wha-What is It,Dude?" Zuma wondered.
"Do You Guys hear That?" Liam asked,as He listened,To Something,That,Currently,No One Else was Hearing.
"No. What?" Chase responded,as He Asked Liam,What He was listening To.
"My Pup Pad is Outside,I can hear Rex talking,Through It," Liam answered,In a Fearful Tone.
"Wait,But,That means," Skye started.
"Yeah,Someone's gonna have to Go and Get It," Liam declared,Worriedly as Him,Chase,Skye and Zuma,All looked at Each Other,With Concern,For,Whoever was going to go Out There.
Back in the Basement of the Lookout.
"I'm,Still getting Nothing," Rex yelled,Irritatedly,as He took Off his Pup Tag,With his Teeth,And,Threw It to the Ground.
"Rex,He is gonna be Okay,Trust Me," Everest reassured,Softly,Trying All She could to make Him feel Better,as She picked Up his Pup Tag,In Her Teeth,And,Handed It Back to Him.
Rex Smiled,Slightly,as He took His Pup Tag,From Her Mouth,And,Put It,Back,Around his Neck
"Guys,I found It,It's Over Here!!!" Tracker announced,Joyfully.
"Come On," Everest requested as Her and Rex took Off,Running,Over to Tracker and Marshall's Side of the Basement.
So,They could,Finally,Leave the Basement of the Lookout,Save Ryder,Stop the Lightning,And,Go get the Rest of Their Teammates,So,They could put All of Their Crazy Missions,Behind Them.
