The Alive Lightning sped,Through the Ventilation Shaft,Moving,From Side to Side,Looking for Any Sight of a Pup,as It floated,Right Past,Two very Close Shadows,Back towards the Basement.
The Two Shadows opened Their Eyes,To See,If It was Gone.
Revealing the Shadows to be Tracker and Everest,Who were,Laying against Each Other,Having been Waiting until It had passed.
"It Worked,He didn't see Us," Tracker mentioned,Quietly,Still,Laying There on his Stomach,With Everest's Head laying,Against his Chest,.
"Phew! That's a Relief," Everest whispered as She wiped Some Sweat,From Her Forehead,With Her Paw,While,Still,Keeping Her Head against Tracker's Chest.
Tracker,Then,Feeling Her Head on his Chest,Looked Down,To See Her laying Her Head on It,as He began to Blush.
"Should We,Uh,Keep Going?" Tracker requested,Awkwardly.
"We,Um,Probably,Should," Everest agreed,Nervously,as She,Quickly,Stopped laying Her Head on his Chest,And,Stood Up,To Continue Crawling,Through the Ventilation Shaft.
Back Down in the Basement.
Marshall and Rex sat at the Entrance to the Ventilation Shaft,Waiting for Them to Signal Em,So,They could get Up to the next Floor.
"I really don't like the Fact,That,Those Two are Alone in There," Marshall stated.
"Why? Because,They forgot to bring a Compass?" Rex wondered.
"No,Because Tracker is in There with Everest,Alone." Marshall informed.
"And,That's a Problem? Why?" Rex asked,Out of Confusion,Not seeing,What the Big Problem was.
"You know,Two Pups being in a Ventilation Shaft Alone,Together,Two Pups,Who might like Each Other," Marshall explained.
"I still don't get It," Rex notified.
"Uh! Never Mind,I should,Probably,Head in after Her,Anyway," Marshall replied,as He rolled his Eyes,And,Turned,Towards the Ventilation Shaft,Beginning to Walk in There,After the Two.
"But,Tracker and Everest wanted Us to stay Here," Rex reminded.
"Ha! Mostly,Tracker," Marshall muttered to Himself,In an Annoyed Tone.
"Aren't They going to be Disappointed in Us if We do not do as We are told?" Rex questioned.
"What? No,Silly,They will be Happy,That,We came after Them,Cause,They know,They need All the Help that They can get,They won't be Mad," Marshall lied,Trying to get Rex to stop Asking Questions,And,Just follow Him Inside.
"A-Are You Sure?" Rex queried,Worriedly.
"100%" Marshall responded,Confidently,as He continued to Walk Deeper,Into the Shaft,With Rex running Inside,After Him.
Deeper in the Shaft.
Tracker and Everest crawled,Through the Shaft,Getting Extremely Close to the Exit of the Shaft.
"S-So,Tracker,Your,Um,Fur was Really Warm," Everest complemented,Awkwardly,Attempting to break the Awkward Silence,Between the Two of Them,Since Their Cuddle Session,When They were Hiding.
"Oh! Y-You Really Think So?" Tracker responded,Shyly.
"Yeah,Yeah,And,Soft,The Softest Fur,That,I've Ever felt. Heh! Heh!" Everest stuttered,Not even Knowing,What to Say,In the Conversation,Anymore,as She just Improvised.
"Well,I-I liked your,your...Large Head!" Tracker blurted Out,Trying to find Something to Reply That,Still Remembering Her Warm Head,Brushing Up against his Chest.
"Large Head? What do You mean?" Everest interrogated,Firmly,Not liking,What She had just Heard Him Say.
Meanwhile.
At the Cabin.
In Front of the Basement Doors.
"You Guys left Him," Skye repeated,In Shock.
"Skye,We did not have a Choice,Otherwise,We wouldn't,Even be Alive,Right Now," Liam pointed Out.
"No! You Two could've saved Him,You could've,But,You didn't," Skye retorted.
"Skye,"Chasecalled,Softly.
"No! No! This is not Okay. I don't find This Okay,At All. We could've saved Zuma," Skye lashed Out,Angrily.
"Skye,We were Trying,To Save Us," Liam and Chase answered,In Unison,as They Both realized It,And,Turned to Each Other,In Surprise.
"Oh,I See,You-You Two planned This." Skye accused.
"Skye,Don't be Ridiculous!" Liam ordered.
"Ridiculous? You just Ditched a Valuable Member of Our Team. Something,I Know,The Real You never would've Done,You,Or Chase," Skye shouted.
"Skye,Please,Just Listen," Chase pleaded,as He reached his Paw Out to Her,Attempting to put His Paw on Her Shoulder.
"Nope! Don't Touch Me! Either of You! You may Think,That,You have Everyone Else fooled,But,You don't have Me," Skye shot Back,as She yanked Her Shoulder,Away,From his Paw,Before,Taking Off Up the Stairs,The Minute,She Finished Talking.
"Well,That went Well," Liam murmured,as Him and Chase watched Her storm Off Upstairs.
"I don't get It,We were,Just Protecting the Rest of Us. What's the Problem with That?" Chase stated.
"Maybe,That is the Problem," Liam voiced,Solemnly,as He Walked Away,From Chase,And,Over to Rocky,To Fix Him Up.
Chase lowered his Head,In Disappointment,as He sat Down,On the Floor,To Think of,What to do Next.
Just Then.
The Creature rammed Its Head,Against the Door,Surprising Chase,as He looked Back,Over to the Basement Doors,Before,Running to Them,And,Sitting on Them,To make Sure,They stayed Closed.
Upstairs.
Skye walked,Over to One of the Rooms,And,Ran,Into It,as She,Then,Pushed It Shut.
"Dang It,Skye! You,Totally could have Handled That Better. What were You Thinking?" Skye complained,Scolding Herself Already,For How She treated the Boys.
"Pfft,That's Obvious,You weren't Thinking. They,Most Likely,Were,Trying to Protect All of Us,I,Probably,Just took It the Wrong Way. I,Probably,Just Jumped to Conclusions. It was All My Fault,And,My First Instinct was to blame the Boys,That,is Totally not Me," Skye continued On to Herself,Telling Herself,All the Different Things,That,It could be.
Downstairs.
"Maybe,She's Right,It's,Probably,All My Fault. I was,Most Likely,Just Thinking about Me and Her. How could I do That? How could I be So Selfish? That is So not like Me," Chase mumbled to Himself,Also Scolding Himself,For,What He had Said and Done.
"I left Zuma,My Best Friend in There,And,All for a Pup,That,I like,That is Horrible. I'm,Most Likely,The Bad Guy Here,And,She is the Beautiful Gorgeous Angel Good Guy Here,Warning Me of What I have Done," Chase elucidated to Himself.
"Is Chase Scolding Himself over There?" Liam asked Rocky,Hearing All his Whispering,From,Over in the Living Room.
"D-Don't Ask Me,I am,Not really All Here. Ow!" Rocky informed.
Back at the Lookout.
In the Ventilation Shaft.
Tracker was,Still,Trying to Word,What He was Saying Right,Without making It sound Bad.
"I,Jus-Just meant That I liked your Head," Tracker said.
"Um,You Said,Large Head. You said,I had a Large Head." Everest responded,Furiously.
"D-Did I?" Tracker questioned.
"Yep,Yep,You did," Everest retorted.
"Well,Th-That was an Accident,A Slip of the Tongue," Tracker stuttered.
"Ya Think?" Everest yelled.
"It was a Total Accident,Everest,It was not supposed to come Out," Tracker replied.
"You mean,That is What You Think?" Everest shouted.
"Oh! That came Out Wrong," Tracker whispered,Embarassingly.
"Oh,You bet,It came Out Wrong," Everest pointed Out.
"I didn't really mean It,Everest," Tracker admitted.
"Ha! Sure You didn't," Everest murmured as She walked,In Front of Him,Now,Taking the Lead through the Shaft.
"Darn It,You Idiot,Now,Look,What You have Done,You've ruined your Chances of Anything,You insulted Her,Now,She'll never like You," Tracker complained.
"What was That?" Everest wondered.
"N-Nothing," Tracker lied.
"Really? Or,Are You saying Something Else about Me?" Everest added.
"No,I'm not,It's Nothing," Tracker lied,Again,Really,Not wanting to tell Her,How he felt Now,Considering,He had,Just insulted Her.
"Ah! What was I thinking?" Tracker queried,as He hit his Face,With his Paw.
"You weren't," Everest commented,Firmly,as Tracker walked a Little past Her,Once Again,Trying not to make a Bigger Fool of Himself,Than He had Already.
"Uh oh," Tracker announced.
"What?" Everest interrogated,Skeptically.
"You have a New Plan for getting Up to the Next Floor? Cause,Otherwise,We're not getting Up,Unless,We can stick to the Metal Walls to Climb Up," Tracker warned,as He looked Up at the Long Way Up to the Next Floor.
"Oh Boy,New Plan,It is," Everest declared,as She walked Up to His Side,And,Also,Looked Up the Shaft.
