Back at the Lookout.
The Lightning was Floating Closer,Over to Rex,Who was,Still,Laying on the Ground Unconscious,as Tracker,Everest and Marshall watched It Approach Him,From Their Hiding Place.
"We've gotta do Something,Otherwise,That Thing is going to kill Him," Tracker mentioned.
"But,If We Go Over There,To Help Him,We will get killed,And,We won't be Any Help to Anyone Dead," Marshall pointed out.
"We,Still,Gotta Help Him,Tonto," Tracker retorted.
"I think,Tracker's Right,I'll Help," Everest voiced.
"Yo-You'll Go? You're with Him?" Marshall responded,In Surprise,Not believing,What He was Hearing.
"Yeah,Of Course,I will,Marshall,Rex helped Us,He risked his Life for Us,And,We should Help Him,In Return," Everest stated.
"Are You Coming or Not,Amigo?" Tracker asked,With a Big Smile on his Face,Feeling Glad,That,Everest was on his Side of Things.
Marshall,Seeing,That,It was Two against One,And,Finding the Fact,That,The Girl,That,He liked was,Agreeing with Tracker,Instead of Him,Realized He didn't,Really Have a Choice.
"Fine! Fine! Let's Go Help Him,Before,It's Too Late," Marshall said.
"Yes! I knew,You would Agree,You are the Best,Marshall" Everest cheered,Excitedly,as She took Off,From,Behind Their Hiding Spot,Towards the Front Door.
Tracker,About to Run Out,From Behind Their Hiding Spot,Was,Suddenly,Stopped,By Marshall,Who had grabbed Him by the Collar,With his Teeth.
"Don't Ever do That,Again,I don't know,How You made Her agree with You,But,Do Not make Me feel like a Fool like That,Ever Again," Marshall demanded,Angrily.
"You don't scare Me,Marshall," Tracker informed,Firmly.
The Second,Marshall heard That,He Growled,Aggressively,At Tracker,In Attempt to Scare Him,as He bared his Teeth at Him.
Tracker,Feeling a Little Scared,Didn't Show It,One Bit,as He stood his Ground,With a Serious Look on his Face,Not,Remotely,Backing Down.
Marshall,Seeing Him,Not Flinch at All,Quickly Stopped,And,Frowned,as He walked Past Tracker and Bumped Him in the Shoulder,With his Shoulder,Before,Heading Off to help Everest.
Tracker Growled,Silently,In Frustration,as He,Also,Took Off,After Everest,To Help Her protect Rex.
Simultaneously.
Back on the Island.
Deep in the Forest.
The Creature Snarled as It's Head was,About to Turn,To,Behind the Tree,Where They were Hiding,While,Sniffing,Repeatedly,Through Its Nostrils.
It Roared,Out Loud,Into the Sky,Raising It's Dead Animal Skull Face,To the Sky,While,It Roared Out.
Once Chase,Liam and Skye heard That,All Three of Them put Their Paws and Hands,Over Their Ears,Finding the Thing's Roars to be Very Loud.
Suddenly.
The Creature Stopped Roaring and Growled,Angrily,as It dashed Away,From the Tree,Towards the Forest,Leaving to find Something Else,That was Stupid Enough to be in the Woods.
When the Three of Them heard It run Away,The Trio let Out a Sigh of Relief,In Unison,Being Happy to,Still,Be Alive,Having Avoided That Thing for,Yet,Another Time.
"It's Gone," Chase whispered,as He wriggled Out of Liam's Arms,And,Hobbled to Skye's Side.
"Thank Goodness,I am getting Pretty Tired of Losing Pups,To Those Things," Liam voiced
"Heh,Looks like We won't have to Run,After All,Huh?" Skye stated.
Just Then.
Chase and Skye heard a Piercing of Skin,And,A Gasp,as They heard Their Third Survivor Scream Out,In Pain.
The Two of Them looked at Liam,To See,What Happened,Hearing the Creature Snarl,While,Seeing the Creature's Stick Fingers,Having Pierced,Through the Tree and,Clean Through Liam's Stomach.
"Liam!" Chase and Skye called Out,At the Same Time,In Horror,as They witnessed the Creature keep Its Fingers,In Him,While,It lifted Liam's Body Higher Up against the Tree.
"NO! LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Skye shouted,as She activated the Wings on Her Pup Pack,And,Flew Up to Where Liam was being Raised Higher,Before,She bit the Creatures's Fingers,Hard,So,It would Let Go.
The Creature Shrieked Out,In Agony,as It yanked Its Stick Fingers,Out of Liam,Making It drop Him,Back Down to the Floor,Where Chase was,Still Limping.
"Liam! Liam! Can You Hear Me? Are You Okay? Answer Me!" Chase interrogated,Standing There by his Side,as He put his Paws on Liam's Chest,And,Shook Him,Repeatedly.
"Is He Okay? Is He Alive?" Skye asked,Concernedly,as She flew Back Down to the Ground,And,Landed,Right Next to Chase,Both looking at Liam,Who laid There,With his Eyes Closed.
"I-I don't Know,He's not Answering Me,He Always answers Me," Chase replied.
"Liam! Can You Hear Us?" Skye yelled to Him,Trying to get Him to Awaken,as She shook Him with Her Paws,As Well.
"Liam,Answer Us,Please,Please,Wake Up," Chase cried,as He shook Him and Shook Him,Hoping to see Him open his Eyes.
"We can't keep going without You,Please," Skye begged.
Just Then.
Liam Gasped as His Eyes shot Open,Before,Sitting Up,Abruptly,In Fear,To Look Around.
"LIAM!" Chase Screamed Out,as He jumped,Into Liam's Arms,And,Hugged Him,Tightly,While,Sobbing,Heavily,Having felt Worried,That,They had Lost Him.
"I'm Okay,I'm Okay,Buddy,I'm Alright,It's Alright," Liam reassured,as He clasped Chase,Tightly,To Him.
"You,You had Us Worried,That,It killed You,We thought,It killed You," Skye pointed Out,as She nuzzled Liam's Leg,Softly,Both Her and Chase,Also,Being Tired of losing People,Really did not want to lose Liam,Considering,He was the Only One,That,They had Left,Besides,Each Other.
"Guys,I'm Still Here,It's Okay,I'm not going Anywhere," Liam whispered,To the Two of Them,as He softed Chase,With One Hand,And,Skye,With the Other.
"You Better Not," Chase voiced,as He Sniffled,While,He Hobbled Off of Liam,Back onto the Ground.
Liam Winced,as He grasped his Stomach,Tightly,Before,Slowly,Getting Back Up,Onto his Feet.
Skye and Chase,Both Ready to get Running,Watched Liam get Up,as They looked at Him,With Worry.
Liam Groaned and Screamed,as He,Finally,Stood Back Up,On his Feet,Prepared to Run.
Suddenly.
The Three of Them heard the Creature,Growling,From near Them,as They looked,Towards the Direction of the Growls.
The Creature,Now,Furious,Slowly,Walked around the Front of the Tree,Towards the Three,Stalking the Three of Them,While,Snarling,Ferociously.
"Guys,Get Ready to Run," Liam requested as Him,Skye and Chase,Carefully,Backed Away at a Slow Pace,So,It wouldn't Go Speeding,After Them.
"Oh,We're Ready," Skye added,Fearfully,as Her and Chase continued to Back Away,Following Liam's Lead.
The Creature crept,Towards the Three of Them,Taking a Step,Each Time,That,They took One,as It inched Closer to Them.
"Now? Liam?" Chase wondered,Curiously,Wanting to make a Break for It.
"Now!" Liam ordered as Him,Skye and Chase took Off,Running,Heading East,Towards,Somewhere,Where They could stay Safe,From the Creatures.
The Monster,Seeing the Three of Them taking Off,Roared,as It dashed,After Them,Gaining on Them,Pretty Quickly.
"It's gaining on Us,We need to find Somewhere to Go,Fast," Skye mentioned,as She ran with the Boys,Being the One Ahead of the Other Two,Considering,She was the Least Injured,At the Moment.
"I'm Trying,Skye,But,I'm not finding Anything," Chase notified,From a Distance.
Chase,Still Feeling the Pain,In his Hind Legs,Was the One going the Slowest,With the Monster,Quickly,Catching Up to his Tail.
"Chase,Hurry,It's going to get You," Liam warned.
"I'm Trying,Liam,I'm Trying," Chase responded,Fearfully,as He tried to Speed Up,But,Winced,And,Slowed Back Down.
Liam skidded to a Stop,Knowing Chase wasn't going to make It,That Way,as He turned Around,And,Ran towards Chase.
Liam Groaned,Still Feeling the Pain,In his Stomach,as He put One Hand,On his Stomach,While,He kept Running.
Liam,Instantly,Picked Chase Up,In his Arms,And,Turned Back towards the Right Way,Barely,Missing the Creature,Who had Almost slashed Him in the Side.
The Creature Shrieked,In Anger,as It sped Up,Towards Them,Trying Everything in Its Power to get Them.
Liam picked Up the Pace,Taking just a Minute to catch Up with Skye,Who was Sniffing the Ground,While,She ran,Hoping to find a Whiff of Someplace.
"I'm not,Seeing Anything,For a Miles,And,We don't have Miles to Run," Skye said,as She was,In the Back of the Group,Closest to the Monster,Now.
"There! That Lab should Work," Liam announced.
"But,The Doors look Already Open,And,They're covered in Blood,Not to mention,It's covered in Black Vines and Twigs,Just like That Thing," Chase brought Up.
"From the Looks of It,We can,Still Close Those Doors,Chase,We don't have a Choice,But,To Go in There,Otherwise,We're not going to make It," Liam stated.
"Hey,That's the Van,Where the Kidnappers were,I recognize It,From,When I was chasing after It,That's the Same License Plate,The People,Who committed the Kidnapping are Here on the Island,After All,I was starting to Really Doubt,That,They were Here,Which means,The Person,Who was kidnapped is Inside," Skye explained.
"Uh,Skye,We can worry about the Kidnappers,Later,Right Now,We need to get into That Lab,Before,We get Eaten,Too," Liam reminded.
"Already on It," Skye murmured,as She sped Up,And,Past Both Liam and Chase,Before,Running into the Lab,Just in Time.
"Wow,She Already made It," Chase commented.
"Yeah,But,Now,We need To," Liam said,as He ran as Fast as He could,Towards the Lab Doors,While,Still,Holding his Stomach,And,Chase.
"Come On,Guys,You're Almost Here,Hurry,Hurry," Skye urged,Trying to Hurry Them Along,as She watched the Monster get Closer and Closer to Them.
Liam Screamed as He ran Both Him and Chase,Into the Lab,Just before the Creature,Before,Skye and Liam pushed Both the Doors to Lab Shut,Right,In the Monster's Face,Making It Shriek and Roar Out,Into the Sky.
The Creature,Not wanting to give Up on eating Them,Scratched at the Lab Door,And,Rammed Itself,Into the Door.
But,However.
No Matter,How Many Times,It did It to the Doors,They,Still,Remained Closed and Locked Up Tight,the Three of Them were,Officially Safe,For Now.
"Phew,That should Hold Those Things Back," Chase declared,Optimistically.
"For Now,It'll find a Way In," Skye pointed Out,Solemnly.
"Skye,I know,We've lost Quite a Few Pups,Rubble,Rocky,Zuma,But,We are going to make It Out of This,We just need to find a Way to message Ryder,Tell Him,We need a Rescue,And,We escape This Awful Island," Chase elucidated.
"And,While,We look for a Way to message Him,We can,Also,Look into Where This Lab leads To," Liam suggested,as Him,Chase and Skye looked Deeper,Into the Dark Lab,Getting Ready to Walk through It,In Hopes of,Getting Some Answers,And,Getting Off the Horrible Island,Once and For All.
