Beacon Academy: The Dormitories, Link's dorm

It is the next day at Beacon Academy, but due to Link's late sleeping, he ends up sleeping throughout the ENTIRE day, and coincidentally only waking up right before the dance commences. The huntsman in training groans loudly, his eyes cannot even open from how tired and disoriented he is, additionally the boy feels a terrible sensation in his head as if someone were pounding away at his skull with a hammer. Link's heart and breathing begin to pick up speed when he tries harder to forcefully wake himself up despite not being in the best condition. Luckily in this battle of brain telling him to stay in bed and heart telling him he needs to wake up, the one person team's eyes fully open and his first thought is the room is pitch black

"I should not have been out so late, or at the very least I shouldn't have dr-!" Link stops himself and glances around with his ear cupped, making sure nobody is nearby. (Hmmm, I can't be too safe even in my own dorm. I shouldn't have drank so much last night... I say this but ik I brought some back to my dorm didn't I?)

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

"Hello? Are you in there, Link?"

"Hm...? W-who's there" Link yawns and holds his head whilst he sits up. "I'm not feeling so good, come back later."

"Helloooooo?!" The voice persists and this person knocks on the door even louder

"Maybe you didn't hear me? Come back another time!"

Link's voice picks up, clearly agitated, he gets up and storms over but doesn't swing open the door or anything aggressive of the sort. Instead, slowly opening the door, the boy peeks through the crack to see Jaune wearing a very nice suit. Although this suit is not unfamiliar, Link was also given a suit with the same design and pattern

"O-oh! Hey Jaune." Link nods. "What brings you here? Come on in."

"No no that's okay I was just going to head to the ballroom. Wait..." Jaune looks at the other blonde teenager up and down, wondering why he looked so tired and in his regular attire. "Why aren't you dressed?" He asks

"I was planning on not going." Link yawns. "And that was me in a good mood, now I'm tired and not feeling it."

"Can you change that?" Jaune mumbles. "I kind of feel like I'm going to be alone all night."

"Why? There's your team? Pyrrha is likely going..." Link stops himself and quickly moves. "Ren and Nora are going together but they're just friends of course. Plus there's Ruby, you and her get along so well. You'll be able to talk to everybody." He chuckles, but his expression drops. "Come in."

"O-okay." Jaune nods and enters the room. "You should get dressed, everyone's on their way to the dance and well... You don't want to be the last one to arrive right? Even the exchange students could beat us there."

"Hm?" Link shakes his head, only understanding about half of Jaune's sentences and single question. "Question, who are you going with...? You said you were going to be alone, right? Let's say your friends avoid you all night, what about a date?"

"Well I can tell you with complete certainty that I'm not going with Weiss. I saw her asking Neptune to the dance last night." Jaune sighs "Guess there's no girls in my future after all huh?"

(The same night I was trying to cheer Pyrrha up? He really almost went through with what she said about being direct and nothing cheesy.) Link sighs audibly and shakes his head. "Back up against that wall." Link says, opening the door to his room and pointing at the hallway

"Umm... Okay sure." Jaune calmly and carefully exits the room to place his back on the wall pointed out

However, as soon as his back touches the walls and before Jaune can even ask why he was requested to back up against said wall, a knife is launched at him. Not just any knife either, but a long and sharp throwing knife. It travels at a rapid speed and lethally could kill Jaune who is not ready and does not active his aura, but luckily for him the knife does not connect at all, it makes contact and buries into the wall, inches away from his left ear

"WOAH!" Jaune instantly jumps to his right, shivers run down his spine as he touches his head and ear; making sure there was no blood

Luckily for him, Link was not completely awake yet, or so Jaune thinks that is the reason he missed... but Link was sure that he didn't miss and at least intended to cut Jaune's ear or shave part of his head

(Well that's not obvious at all, is it?) Link frowns and glances around, there's nobody to his left, but when he turns his head to the right, he barely sees a red dress that soon disappears, along with clicking heels. (I wasn't going to seriously hurt him? In fact I was doing you a favor...)

"Are you insane? Why did you do that?!" Jaune angrily balls up his hands, but Link's calm expression makes him back down. "L-link? Why do you have weapons? Don't you store your weapons in the lockers? Is that even allowed?"

"I've never trusted the lockers since the day Professor Goodwitch gave us a tour around Beacon." Link shrugs his shoulders and walks over to pull his knife out of the wall, "Besides, all it takes is Cardin, Russel, Dove, or Sky trying every number possible to guess my code and if any of the stuff is stolen, someone will get hurt. I'm not sure if it's allowed. I've had my weapons in my dorm all year and so far I haven't gotten punished or anything." He playfully waves the knife in Jaune's face. "And this my friend, is your reality check. Forget about dating Weiss, she may have a heart of gold underneath that freezing cold exterior but she is not into you. Instead, focus on the people that actually care about you. Pyrrha, Ren, Nora, Ruby, Yang, Blake, Sun, Neptune, me. We're all here for you and the sooner you let go of this one sided crush on Weiss the sooner you can add her and Neptune to the list."

The annoyed and fatigued huntsman shrugs, walks back inside his dorm and slams the door behind him. His immediate first action is to sigh heavily but then nods to himself, knowing what he has to do next. Removing his belt is the next action before accepting that he will attend the dance and needs to get changed

"Link?" Jaune walks up to the door sadly and knocks again. "What are you doing in there?"

"I'm getting ready for the dance, Jaune." Link struggles to take off his boots. "Give me ten minutes, I'll be at the ballroom and you won't have to be alone. Although you are being ridiculous with that thinking, you have all your friends to talk to."

"R-really? Cool, and hey... I'm sorry." Jaune whispers. "I guess you're right, I have been too focused on Weiss and I completely let her cloud my mind. The only time I haven't thought of her is when I spar with you and Pyrrha."

"Don't worry about it. If anything, I'm sorry." Link laughs as he feels remorseful now. "For the knife throwing."

"N-no problem." Jaune nervously giggles, "See you at the dance." He walks away quickly

Link does not reply but does pause the process of getting dressed in the nice suit, pants, and dress shoes provided by Beacon. He lies back and his upper body enjoys the comfort of his bed whilst his eyes stare at the ceiling

(When are you going to tell them, child?)

(Huh? What mind games are you playing now? Tell what? And who?)

(Are we playing stupid now? I'm always here you stupid brat, I can only speak at certain times, that is all.)

(Yes, I don't particularly understand how you work either or why you're even in my head but if I ever find out a way to get you out of my head you are so gone.)

(Now unless I take over and either kill you or kill your soul and claim this body for myself. I refer to your friends and the fact that you drink alcohol every day.)

(I know what you're talking about, I was just playing dumb.) Link shrugs and narrows his eyes, (I will tell them when the time is right, they are my friends after all and deserve to know what my life was like before I got to Beacon Academy. I'm the one out of a thousand students who cannot say they had a cozy life, attended a primary academy prior to applying to Beacon and life has been great!) The huntsman shuts his eyes and exhales. (Not at all... They will know. Who I tell is another question, I am closer to some people than others but... We'll see when the time comes. I should get going now but I don't have the motivation to get up.)

(How boring of you.) The voice speaks with an aggressive growling tone

The Beacon student shuts out the voice, opens his eyes, turns his head and looks at his desk, all of his weapons rest on top of the furniture and his belt hangs on the chair. One of them items on the best is a brown pouch which seemingly carries projectiles based off the throwing knife shown earlier. Next to this pouch is a canteen that is small but bulky and obviously homemade, but staring at this item sucks the life out of the room and pushes Link out of reality; almost making him shut down entirely

Fifteen Minutes Later: Beacon Academy, The Courtyard

Looking at such a simple item like a canteen stalled Link a lot longer than he wanted it to. After finally snapping out his state of shock and sadness, he changed out of his regular attire and into the suit. Being the true huntsman he is, the one person team decides to bring his boomerang with him, hidden away neatly behind him, tucked in his pants and covered by his shirt. Now the hero on his own team finds himself walking through the courtyard, passing by the CCT tower, a familiar sight as he and Ruby were supposed to accompany Weiss there while she made a call before Penny showed up and threw everyone for a loop

"The feelings are mutual." Ruby's voice startles Link, having snuck up on him with her speed and attempting to play it off as if she was behind the boy this entire time. "I can't wait for our first official mission tomorrow."

"Stop sneaking up on me Ruby!" Link exhales in relief, the shock passes and then...

His eyes lock onto Ruby when he turns to look at her. The girl, who is in a nice red dress with black trim on the bottom, a black sash on her waist, black stockings and heels awkwardly waves at him

"Whoa... Look at you." Link says with a giant smile on his face

"How do I look?" Ruby chuckles and almost falls to the ground because of her high heels

"Meh, you look better in your 'combat skirt'." Link smiles, his obvious sarcasm however does not amuse his friend who punches him in the arm. "Ow! Hey I'm kidding, you look great."

"Really?" Ruby smiles happily. "Yang and Weiss insisted I dress up and be more girly. Tell me, I look a little girly, don't I?"

"I suppose so but you always look girly to me. It's your actions that speak more than your looks and you're the most exciting huntress in Beacon in my humble opinion." Link nods. "I guess if you want to talk about how you look, then looking extra girly makes you look even more beautiful than you already are."

"W-wow." Ruby's smile grows because of the comment as the young huntress turns her face to the side in order to hide her blushing cheeks. "Thanks, that really means a lot, Link. I must say, you look very sharp too. I never saw you as a tux guy."

"Trust me, I am not a fan hehe." Link chuckles whilst shaking his head. "But I can't go in my regular clothes either. Although, standing out isn't the worst thing in the world, I already do that on a regular basis being on my own team."

"Oh yeah, you definitely do! In a good way of course, everyone wants to be you, even the upperclassmen." Ruby mumbles as she and Link walk to the dance side by side now. "And same, I'd love to get out of this stupid thing and put my hood back on."

"You know, since we're already going, why not officially attend the dance together?" Link confidently reaches behind him, slides the hidden boomerang out of his back pocket, aims carefully for a distant patch of roses and launches it

"Us? Attend the dance? Together?" Ruby jumps and nearly takes herself out when her ankle buckles, "Sure."

"Awesome."

Link nods happily and right on cue, the rapid boomerang returns with two roses held and carried in a small gust of wind in the shape of a tornado. Their stems are completely hacked and ripped up but the actual roses themselves are in perfect condition. The boy hands one to Ruby while putting the other one in his suit pocket on his left side

"W-woah!" Ruby yelps, nearly falling over yet again, and having to push herself off the stone stairs she nearly falls into front first

"Here, allow me to help." Link shocks the girl even more than he already does when he asks her to be his date by interlocking his arm with Ruby's, therefore helping her keep a stable stance

"Thanks." Ruby sighs in relief as they scale the stairs with ease and soon enter the ballroom hosting the dance.

"NO WAY!"

Yang shouts loudly as Team RWBY did plan the dance and the blonde huntress is the one greeting all the students entering

"Oh boy..." Ruby mumbles, both she and Link sigh with embarrassment when Yang runs over to them cheerfully

"You two look so cute together! I've been dreaming of this moment since-!" Yang stops herself when Ruby glares, forcing the huntress to change the topic, "Link, you look nice, really sharp and professional." She turns her head to admire Ruby's dress next. "And you look so beautiful!"

"Ugh..." Ruby grumbles away, clearly not amused. "Can you please ask Weiss how in the world she fights in these?" She gestures to the heels she's in and tightly grabs onto Link as she feels one of her ankles nearly give out again

"Link, a little help, guide her over please?" Yang points in Weiss' direction. "She'll learn to walk in those tonight but for now we'll cut her some slack."

"She has to sit over there, near Weiss? No thanks." Link sarcastically and dramatically shakes his head

"Come on, I got something to show all three of you." Yang points to someone, who is revealed to be Blake on the other side of the ballroom next to her assumed date, Sun Wukong. The previous depressed, sleep deprived and frustrated girl now has no bags under her eyes and does not look weak or stressed out in the slightest

"Whoa she did it." Ruby cheers. "SHE DID IIIITTT!"

"Wow yang you've really outdone yourself." Link nods happily in approval while carefully guiding Ruby towards Weiss, never letting go until the young huntress sits down comfortably, "You actually did it. Great job Yang." He looks to his left and right into Weiss' eyes. "Hello."

"Hmph!" Weiss turns her head away from Link in annoyance. "If you're here to gloat, save-!"

"Relax, I'm not interested in fighting tonight." Link shrugs. "Truce for tonight?"

"Very well then, truce." Weiss says with a sly smile that fades away when she turns back

The three girls from team RWBY and Link watch as Neptune arrives to the dance and immediately runs over to meet up with Sun and Blake, with the three friends instantly hitting it off

"Thank you for the praise guys but I can't take all the credit." Yang snicks. "I'll take eighty percent of the credit. Link you can have the rest."

"Link?!" Weiss and Ruby shout at the same time

"Me?" Link turns his head in confusion. "But I thought I convinced Blake NOT to go to the dance like even more than she was already set not to go."

"Yup." Yang proudly nods. "I gave her the Ruby special, tug at the heartstrings with emotional talk and then I... I told her that nobody is asking her to stop with her efforts. But to just get some rest. Not only for her, but for the people she cares about. AND THEN we promised we'd dance with each other at least once. This is where you come in Mr. 'one man team' hehehe."

"Enough of that please." Link chuckles. "How do I come into this? When I spoke to her I told her she doesn't need to listen to anybody and do what she feels is best, dance or no dance."

"You did and that's how our words work together. When I said 'the people she cares about' do you know who she first named?" Yang raises an eyebrow. "Because it wasn't me."

"M-me?" Link narrows his eyes

"Don't look too shocked." Yang smirks. "You were there for her and got through to her before I did. When Weiss, Ruby, and I first tried to talk to her and failed, when Sun failed. We even tried to get Pyrrha to talk to her but Blake wouldn't even utter a word to her. You understood her and knew what she wanted to hear WITHOUT saying the wrong things too. When Blake was all alone in the library you went to go get her at night, then traveled the extra distance to ensure her peaceful sleep. I know you may not think you did a lot Link, but it definitely meant the world to Blake."

"I'm speechless." Link nods and lifts both eyebrows in surprise. "I truly don't know what to say."

"Don't say anything then." Weiss looks at the ground, jealousy, envy, and relief fill her eyes. "Thank you for helping our teammate."

"Of course."

"Yeahhhh goooo LINK!" Ruby cheers

"This is my sister's date everybody!" Yang cups her hands around her mouth and announces

"SHUT UP!" Ruby gets up, wobbles but manages to lunge herself towards her sister, the two begin to aggressively play fight like most siblings would

"I guess that's my cue to go break that up." Link rolls his eyes

"Yeah..." Weiss continues staring at the ground, dejected

"Is something wr-!"

"No!" Weiss shakes her head and narrows her eyes. "Just leave me alone."

"I really shouldn't now that you're responding to me that way but... okay Weiss, I will respect your wishes." Link stands up and looks down at her. "Can I come back and talk to you later?"

"You're requesting permission to talk to me?" Weiss looks up in shock

"Yeah, I did just upset you and I'm sorry about that."

"N-no don't be..." Weiss sighs and gives up on her sentence, but does nod. "I would like it if we talked later, just you and I."

"Sounds great." Link runs over and effortlessly separates Yang and Ruby before pushing the former of the girls into the dance floor

"H-hey what are you doing?" Yang nervously asks

"You said Blake promised you a dance, right?"

"Riiight. It would be symbolic if her first dance is with me too. I better hurry before she dances with Sun and Neptune." Yang hurries away but not too fast with the heels hindering her movement

"Now you and I can go back to what Yang wanted you to do, relax a little bit." Link hooks his arm with Ruby's and leads her back to where Weiss is

"O-okay!" Ruby struggles to adjust and completely relies on her 'date' for assistance as he takes back to her sad teammate

Yang swoops in between Blake, Sun, and Neptune, confidently grabbing her teammate's hand and stealing her away for a dance. The two of them dance formally for some time, with Yang taking the lead until the dance comes to a close. Blake is spun around by Yang before the two girls curtsy to one another respectfully and lovingly. Behind the blonde huntress, Sun comes back into the picture and takes his date's hand as Yang graciously steps aside, gesturing for him to dance with her. The former walks back over to hang with Ruby, Weiss, and Link again. Three of the students excitedly watch Blake laugh and enjoy herself with Sun and Neptune

"Wow..." Ruby smiles. "I know she's already here but I didn't really think she would come."

"See?" Yang chuckles and offers her fist to Link. "Good as new and happy."

"She sure is." Link nods and gladly fist bumps with Yang

Blake finishes a formal dance with Sun and looks back at her teammates and Link and smiles brightly at them before continuing to dance with Sun; Neptune slickly joins the mix but for some reason doesn't dance

"Never doubt me again sis. I told ya she would come." Yang playfully punches her sisters arm

"You sure proved me wrong." Ruby nods. "I'm glad to have been wrong about this."

"Mission accomplished." Weiss picks her head up, stands up and nods. "That's one less problem to deal with."

"So?" Ruby breaks away from Link's hold to stabilize herself and get herself used to the heels. "What do we do now?"

"Um, is that a real question? Just have fun!" Yang calls out while both she and Weiss walk off in several directions

"Umm..." Ruby's face turns red in embarrassment. "Does that mean I can change out of these stupid things and into my hood now?!"

Link does not respond sarcastically, or at all but instead backs away from Ruby, choosing to keep his eyes on Yang, who returns to the front of the ballroom to greet the last incoming students who arrive late to the dance. Professor Ozpin suddenly appears and approaches Ruby slowly, but instead of sticking around for the conversation whether it's to join in or listen, Link walks away, completely ignoring that he's technically Ruby's date

(Look who's arrived to the party... Hehehe!) The evil voice in Link's head speaks up, his menacing tone rings throughout Link's head and dominates the loud music and many conversations being had by every student

The ballroom doors open seconds after the voice speaks, and in comes Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black, both looking smug but with fake smiles plastered on their face

"You guys are just in time." Yang smiles

"..." No response comes from Emerald, who nods

"Wouldn't miss it for the world." Mercury chuckles

(Not interested in fighting tonight? Those were your words... Are they true?) The voice creepily says with killer intent behind each word

(Now that they're here... Maybe I lied.)

Link replies and shakes his head, the one person team knows there's someone missing... That someone... is Cinder Fall. The woman's two underlings join the rest of the dance casually and everything continues on as it previously did with a majority of the students dancing, some sitting and talking, and others standing and talking. Beacon Academy professors watch, mainly there for the safety of the students, Professor Port is seen as Professor Oobleck, they are both laughing and having a great time. Professor Ozpin is standing off to the side with Professor Goodwitch until James Ironwood walks up to them and offers his hand for her to dance with him, she rolls her eyes but reluctantly agrees. The one person team knows he cannot do anything, when Emerald and Mercury are innocently playing their as students enjoying a school dance. He shrugs and walks to Ruby who is now behind the table holding a big bowl of punch, and before he arrives, Jaune beats him there

"I see you're hiding at the punch bowl too." Jaune mumbles with a glass cup in his hand

"Yep." Ruby nods

"Hey Jaune." Link walks to them both and stands to Ruby's right. "Sorry I didn't get here in ten, took a lot longer getting ready than expected."

"You're fine, you looked like you barely woke up. If you took twenty, thirty, forty-five minutes, I would've understood." Jaune chuckles. "I'm just glad I have familiar company now. Nora and Ren have been at the dance floor since they first arrived and were the first ones dancing and Pyrrha... She actually isn't here yet."

"Why? Do you know where she is?" Ruby asks before turning back to Link. "Why were you barely waking up? And how do you look sooo... Not drowsy and sleepy?"

"Splashing my face with water and a late night cup of coffee?" Link shrugs

"Okayyy, now my other question?" Ruby smirks

"I was up too long is the answer. I spoke to Pyrrha last night and it was already quite late, after she left my dorm I left to go do my own thing and return back around... six or seven? Then I didn't even sleep until ten or eleven."

"Why would you put yourself through that?!" Ruby's smirk morphs into a frown and the young huntress pinch's her date's arm roughly. "Do I need to spend more nights in your room so you can go to sleep at a good time?"

"N-no, unless you just want to spend the night that would be cool." Link winces. "O-ow! That's enough now!"

"Wait, you've slept in his dorm?" Jaune gasps

"Ummm..." Ruby turns away from Jaune and looks at Link with a blush on her face, she mouths the words 'Help Me!'

"Is Link your date too? That was fast, he almost didn't even att-!"

"THAT'S ENOUGH OF THAT." Link shakes his head at Jaune as Ruby did not know of his plan to not attend the dance. "Let's just spend the whole night at the punch bowl and never dance."

"Sounds like a plan to me!" Ruby instantly agrees

"Heh, okay then." Jaune raises his glass. "To the socially awkward."

"Hehehe, that's right. Come on Link." Ruby raises her glass and brings it up to Jaune's

"Alright I'll join in." Link smiles, serves himself punch, and raises his class up to the two of theirs

The three friends laugh simultaneously and awkwardly push off with their glasses to imitate a group clink

"Hey." Ruby looks at Jaune. "Sorry things didn't work out with Weiss."

"Meh, it's fine. Neptune's pretty cool anyway. I get why she went with him instead. Besides, after some nice talks with certain friends." Jaune winks at Link. "I'm starting to finally see that it's not the end of the world that Weiss rejected me, there's 'plenty of fish in the sea' like Pyrrha said"

"That's great advice, I don't know exactly what Link said to you I saw that wink but considering he helped out Blake a lot I figure he's on a spree of helping everybody." Ruby snickers. "But I'm confused. What do you mean with Neptune?"

(Uh oh. I thought Weiss was upset about not being able to help out Blake more but... It's more than that.)

"Huh?" Jaune twists his head in confusion. "Yeah Neptune, he's cool and come on, not many people can pull off blue hair."

"Ohhh..." Ruby watches Jaune drink his punch and speaks at the worst time. "Yeah he is cool, except for the fact that Weiss came to the dance alone."

"W-what?!" Jaune chokes on his punch and nearly spits it out. "That's impossible! I went to ask Weiss to the dance one more time but she was already asking Ne-!"

"Weiss wasn't in her dorm?" Link improvises on the spot while motioning for Jaune to zip it by balling up his hand and shifting it across his own lips

"Y-yeah, that." Jaune doesn't do as good of a job but Ruby is convinced nonetheless

(Neptune turned her down... Wow, I can't believe it, why would he do that?)

"Yeah, Weiss said that she had too much to focus on to worry about boys and maybe she'll get to know Neptune in the future but as of right now she isn't interested." Ruby raises her glass up to her mouth and drinks

"Grrr." Jaune angrily stares at Neptune and then whips his arm to the right, offering his cup to either of his fries. "One of you hold my punch."

"Sure." Ruby takes it happily, oblivious to what is about to happen

(Oh no... I don't know who Jaune is about to embarrass more between himself, Neptune or Weiss.) Link visibly grimaces but decides to ignore it for the time being and let the outcome determine itself

"So..." Ruby awkward speaks as she drinks out of both her and Jaune's cup

"You just..." Link shakes his head and laughs. "You really don't know how to interact in large gatherings of people."

"Do you?!" Ruby frowns. "Look if this entire room was full of grimm I would absolutely know how to act. I'd grab my scroll, punch in my code, get my baby Crescent Rose over here and beat down all the monsters."

"Very true and no I do not know either, that's why I'm right here next to you." Link giggles. "Do you want to walk around awkwardly for the entire night or stand here?"

"You can go interact with other people if you want. I'm perfectlyyy fineee standing right here." Ruby nods

"Are you sure about that? As your date I should-!"

"You're my date! Not my boyfriend!" Ruby shouts, which draws stares from other students, including Yang

"Ouch." Link hands her his glass as well, "I should get going then." He sighs and walks away

"N-no, Link wait!" Ruby puts down the drinks and tries to chase him, but stops when she feels herself wobble

"What are you doing?!" Yang whispers angrily in her ear as she runs over to help her sister stay on her feet

"I don't know! I got flustered and then he called himself my date and it made my face hot. Help me!" Ruby whines. "I've never been anywhere or done anything with a boy that didn't involve combat. Dad certainly didn't help the cause either."

"It's going to be okay sis." Yang sighs. "Link is a nice guy and he'll understand why you reacted that way, besides he's not the slickest guy either, I can tell he hasn't had a girlfriend before either."

"Yang!" Ruby growls. "We aren't even-!"

"I'm just teasing." The blonde huntress laughs hysterically, "He'll be back, he is still your date. If he's going to talk to other people, you should too. C'mon sis!"

Yang eagerly drags her sister along as they merge back in with the huge crowd of people. At the dance floor, Jaune approaches Sun, Neptune, and Blake who all look shocked when the team JNPR leader rapidly walks up to them but still hasn't said a word. Jaune is distracted by his teammate Pyrrha who arrived late and sadly walked up the ballroom stairs, on the sidelines is Link, who watches all five of them

(If he doesn't go to talk to Pyrrha, then I will... Make the right decision Jaune...)

After ten more seconds of silence and staring, Jaune nods at the three friends and wishes them well before racing up the stairs behind Pyrrha. Link nods in approval and he now steps on the dance floor himself, rapidly approaching Sun, Neptune, and Blake. The two boys turn to face him but not the girl

"Hey Link." Sun nods

"Sup." Neptune sarcastically salutes

"Hey guys." Link mumbles. "Why was Jaune staring at you guys?"

"Your guess is as good as mine, man." Sun shrugs

"Maybe I should go talk to him and find out." Neptune nods

"Hm?" Blake stops dancing and her eyes light up, "Link! You made it too!" She runs over and jumps in his arms, hugging him tightly

"Hellooo Blake!" Link laughs, catches and hugs the cat faunus, lifting her in the air happily. "Why are you so chipper?"

"Yang and I talked, I assume she wishes for it to stay between us but let's just say, it made me feel better and confident about myself, the people around me, and that everything is going to be okay." She pulls back and realizes the position she's in with someone who isn't her date. "Sorry if this is weird."

"Not at all, you're my friend and it's amazing to see you so happy." Link playfully spins her around before gently setting Blake back down on her feet. "It's good to see you here."

"Likewise." Blake nods. "I know we're going to figure out what's going on in Vale in due time but it is important to take a step back and enjoy what I have around me now. It won't be around forever."

"Beacon Academy sure but..." Link jokingly pokes her cheek. "After we graduate, we'll definitely keep in touch."

"I would hope so." Blake smiles. "It wouldn't be very fun to have to travel all around the world to find you again."

"That is very true." Link chuckles, places a hand on Blake's back and guides her back to Sun. "One date returned to sender."

"Thanks. Although I didn't exactly send anything. She's a free bird." Sun laughs. "Or a free cat in this case,"

"Ha-ha." Blake rolls her eyes. "So what brought you to the dance, Link?"

"Some convincing from Jaune, realizing how much I care about my friends and... Your leader." Link's eyes widen and brows lift dramatically. "Ruby is my date."

"RUBY?!" Sun and Neptune say at the same time

"I knew you two would eventually get closer." Blake brightly smiles. "I'm happy for both of you, assuming you aren't official of course, but I'm glad you accompanied her to the dance. Ruby thinks highly of you and this dance isn't really her scene."

"It isn't mine either but we can be awkward social outcasts together." Link nods. "Are you guys having a good time?"

"Hell yeah." Sun nods. "It's been a blast."

"I agree." Blake blinks, her eyes full of life. "It has been really nice."

"Neptune?" Link looks over when he gets no answer

"Y-yeah it's been great, sorry. I need to go talk to Jaune." Neptune frowns. "Something's clearly bothering him, I need to go see what's up, care to join me?"

"I don't mind." Link nods, looking at Sun and Blake next. "Do you guys mind if I accompany him upstairs?"

"Go ahead. Whatever gives me and Blake more time alone, hehe." Sun snickers

"Shut it." Blake rolls her eyes and steps forward to give Link another hug. "Thank you for caring about me so much. I know you already said you do but seeing it means a lot more." She smiles and reluctantly lets go. "Have a great night."

"Thank you." Link hugs her back before she can let go completely. "I will always care for you Blake, see you around."

Neptune slowly goes up the stairs with Link trailing behind him, when they reach the top, they walk into a dark hallway that is immediately lit up by open doors leading to a stone balcony outside. They watch as Pyrrha Nikos walks inside, having been previously outside not too long ago, speaking with Jaune. She passes by both of them and doesn't look up to look at or acknowledge Neptune or Link

"You okay talking to Jaune alone? Because Pyrrha needs a friend right now." Link asks

"Go ahead man, good luck." Neptune nods and continues whilst his companion hangs back

"Pyrrha wait!" Link quickly catches up with the gentle girl and has to poke her arm to grab her attention

"L-link!" Pyrrha's head snaps up as if she were stuck in a daze. "What a surprise? I thought you weren't going to come to the dance?"

"That's right I was not going to attend the dance, but Jaune convinced me to come." Link chuckles. "I believe you were there as well."

"I'm happy that Jaune's persistence and big heart managed to change your decision." Pyrrha covers her mouth to laugh. "I was there? Whatever do you mean?"

"I may have seen your dress as you were leaving." Link raises an eyebrow

"So many people are wearing red dresses, such as Ruby. Have you spoken to her tonight?" She asks

"I arrived here with her actually, she's my date." Link smiles

"W-wow..." Pyrrha smiles as well. "Just when I was about to ask you to be my date now."

"Oh stop." Link reaches out and lightly squeezes her shoulder

"Link, I am so happy for both of you." Pyrrha continues walking until she and her friend reach the stairs again. "Do you mind continuing to walk with me for a bit more?"

"It would be my honor." Link nods and walks alongside her as they slowly descend the stairs. "Have you spoken to Jaune tonight?"

"Yes." Pyrrha looks at the ground. "The conversation was... not a bad one. First, Jaune genuinely thought I arrived at the dance with a date. I told him nobody asked me... He was shocked. But now he knows how I feel regarding how much I value his friendship. How he didn't even know who I was and didn't treat me on another level or on a pedestal."

"Did you say any more than that? As in, did you tell him how you really feel?" Link looks at her anxiously

"N-no." Pyrrha shakes her head. "I felt that was too fast, what was said tonight already seemed like plenty for him to process. When the time is right-!"

"I know." Link smiles happily. "Progress is always good and that's what you did tonight, companionship, friendships, relationships, they go both ways Pyrrha. You did your part, now it's Jaune's turn to do something, whether it's tonight, tomorrow, or anytime soon."

"We will see about that, nothing is set in stone and there is no such as planning what other people will do next." Pyrrha turns to Link and raises her left arm upwards to lightly put his hand. "Have you done any dancing with Ruby?"

"Absolutely not." Link almost bursts in laughter as he removes his hand from Pyrrha's shoulder. "Ruby can barely walk in her heels. Yang and I have been guiding and helping her most of the night, but she is improving quickly. Although now I'm wondering one thing, how long did it take her to get from her dorm to the ballroom? Because she was walking alone before we met up."

"I'm not too sure, it's probably best not to ask either." Pyrrha steadily shakes her head. "Using embarrassment to joke and be funny is nice, but not at every given chance."

The top two rookies in Beacon Academy reach the end of the stairs and soon step on the dance floor where Pyrrha creates distance between the two of them by picking up the speed of her walking

"I should probably let you go." Pyrrha softly speaks. "I'd like to dance alone for some time or with other students, you should go find Ruby. Or perhaps interact with other people"

"O-okay!" Link happy nods and waves at her. 'See you later Pyrrha."

"Of course, goodbye Link." Pyrrha turns and waves back before continuing further towards the dance floor

Link looks around frantically for Ruby, or at least Yang as she could tell him where her sister is. In no time, he spots the two sisters talking upstairs and smiles. The young man paces back and forth on the dance floor and then decides to now go upstairs. However, he is not done talking to everybody just yet, he notices Weiss sitting down again, this time in a different chair but still looking glum and sad. Despite their bad blood, deep down Link cares for the rude, catty, loud mouthed girl and he approaches her with a brisk walk. When he finds himself in front of the Schnee, the one person team realizes that he has available options as both seats to Weiss' immediate left and right are both open

"Weiss." Link cleans his throat. "May I sit next to you?"

"Oh, hey Link." Weiss looks up with sadness in her eyes. "I am surprised you remembered we were going to talk later. Yes please, sit. I'm just sitting here, I tried making some adjustments to the decorations but Yang insisted to stop worrying... Since the dance is already underway."

"Thank you. I agree too, the time to worry or stress about planning the dance was any day or week before today. Enjoy your work, you, Ruby, and Yang really outdid yourselves." Link says with warmth radiating from him, he sits next to Weiss' left side. "Are you okay?"

"Y-yes of course I'm okay, why wouldn't I be?" Weiss pats down her dress, pretending to look busy. "What brings you here? I wasn't expecting you until much later, maybe even after the dance is over."

"That was the plan, I was about to go talk to Ruby and Yang then steal back my date but I noticed you here... And you are still sad."

"M-me? Sad? What gave you that idea?!" Weiss picks up her head and frowns. "I can assure you I am not sad."

"Weiss..." Link picks up his right hand and awkwardly places his hand on Weiss' knee. "You can fool Ruby, Yang, and Blake with your mask of fake smiles but I can tell that something is bothering you. If you do not want to tell me, I understand completely, but know that I would hear you out if you want or need to talk with me."

"I have two conditions." Weiss narrows her eyes and directly into his eyes as well. "Number one:" By no means are we friends just because I am choosing to share with you and not my team. Number two: Under no circumstances does this information leave your mouth to anybody, Ruby, Yang, Blake, anybody, swear to me that you won't tell."

"I swear." Link's face momentarily falls. "On my first best friend's grave."

"Whoa... Link?" Weiss grabs the hand on her knee and firmly grabs it. "Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you, I just need to know I can trust you, that is all."

"You can trust me Weiss, I know we are not really friends, but I still care about you a lot. Maybe more than I should but who's going to stop me?" Link weakly chuckles

"Stop, now you're making me feel bad and I'm the sad one, remember?" Weiss weakens her grip and gently holds Link's hand

"Okay okay..." Link slowly smiles again and realizes what is being done to his hand, he squeezes back softly. "Alright Weiss, what's on your mind?"

"I don't know how to do anything right." Weiss sighs, unaware that sounds arrogant initially, "I couldn't help convince Blake to attend the dance, that was all because of you and Yang. Then last night I..." She sniffles and quickly wipes away a tear. "I approached Neptune and asked him to attend the dance with me as a date, because I'm not asking a lot except to simply dance and have a good time for at least one day before we set off on our mission tomorrow... and he rejected me. I don't know what I did wrong, Neptune and I have gotten along well."

(It's a combination of both events then, I see. Considering she's on the verge of tears, it must be more than only this.)

"Link?" Weiss snaps her fingers in his face. "Are you okay? Did you zone out?"

"No no, of course not, just thinking." Link exhales and promptly opens his mouth. "Look, I don't know if you've been used to being perfect your entire life but maybe now is the time to see that nobody is perfect. Not you, Pyrrha, me, Professor Ozpin, Glynda, anybody. We all make mistakes and sometimes we are in a position to help but our efforts fall flat or go unnoticed. Trust me Weiss, I know all about making mistakes, I have made too many of them and have gotten innocent people hurt. My only hope is that being at Beacon around people like you helps me lessen my mistakes."

"Me? But I just said we weren't going to be fr-!"

"I heard you loud and clear Weiss. We aren't friends and might never be friends but deep down and I mean beyond my heart... Deep down in my soul, I want to be your friend." Link smiles at her. "I hope you feel the same way and you don't have to tell me right now but... You mean well, you just have an aggressive and ignoring mindset sometimes."

"What about Neptune? I still don't understand why he-!"

"Regarding Neptune, I'm sure he has a good reason for not attending this dance with you, but there's always next year's dance and I know he will be cheering and rooting for you during the tournament. Him rejecting you tonight is only a setback, but you haven't lost Weiss, maybe if you can talk to him tonight, he will tell you what that 'good reason' is."

"Do you really think he would? Guys are normally... Not the most open." Weiss sighs. "They speak louder with actions than with words."

"I don't know Neptune on a personal level but he seems like a good guy." Link nods confidently and slowly slips his hand away from Weiss' grip. "If you ever get a chance to talk to him one on one tonight, take it."

"Thank you Link, this has actually been quite nice. Maybe I was too harsh when I said we wouldn't be fr-! What on earth is he wearing?!" Weiss points at... A peculiar situation on the dance floor

"Hm?"

Link doesn't catch what Weiss is saying or pointing at, until the sudden fits of laughter and giggles from other students draw his attention. It's Jaune and he's in a white dress with a blue ribbon around his waist, which is by Pyrrha visibly giggling, then laughing, and unable to contain herself she bursts in laughter. The two of them speak and all Weiss and Link can do is watch in anticipation. Until...

"Ren!" Nora shouts. "This... Is... Happening!"

"Huh?" Ren puts down a glass of punch. "Wait, what is happening?"

Nora grabs Ren by his arm and drags him out onto the dance floor with Pyrrha and Jaune. The bubbly orange haired huntress signals for the rest of the students to make space for them as team JNPR each get in position and perform a short but elaborately choreographed dance involving spins, twirls, kick steps, body rolls, and posing. The entire ballroom watches this dance in awe and witness the end of it, resulting in Jaune spinning and dipping Pyrrha as they dance together just them two while the rest of the students on the dance floor join in and the atmosphere livens up

"Hey guys." Neptune suddenly appears in front of Weiss and Link, the blue haired boy gives the latter a nod. "Can I talk to Weiss alone for a little?'

"Of course." Link nods, stands up, giving Neptune a nod and Weiss a wink. "I should go find Ruby anyway, can't be her date if we're away from each other all night."

"Right." Weiss nods. "Thanks for talk, Link."

"Anytime." Link waves at them both and walks away, only turning back to see Weiss initiating the conversation with Neptune, (Good job Weiss, I hope you find the closure you need or maybe this talk will result in a fruitful new relationship, only time will tell.) He looks upstairs and spots Yang enjoying the dancing, then glances around the ground floor and notices Ruby near the entrance. "Ruby!"

"Link heyyy!" Ruby walks to him with more stability, only struggling minimally

"Look at you. Improved fast in the short time I was gone?" Link smiles

"Yeahhh my only choice was to improve when Yang flat out stopped holding me by my arm and forced me to get better by learning and nearly falling a billion times." Ruby shrugs. "This dance has been fun to witness, especially that dance team JNPR did, but I kind of want to call it a night. Do you want to come with me? You're more than welcome to stay if you want."

"Ruby..." Link shakes his head. "I'm coming with you, you're my friend and official date for tonight, wherever you want to go tonight, I will be by your side."

"I was hoping you'd join me." Ruby turns away and blushes. "Lead the way?"

"Of course." Link smoothly reaches and grabs her hand, they interlock fingers instantly and both leave the ballroom, hand in hand

The 'couple' walks out of the dance and into the abandoned courtyard to enjoy some night air. Ruby turns to Link, not feeling the need to hide her blush anymore and when Link turns, he can't help but smile

"You're beautiful." Link smiles warmly at her

"Aww." Ruby's cheeks are completely crimson red now. "That's so sweet, what did I do to deserve that? I was forced to dress up."

"Dress or combat skirt, you always look beautiful, this is just me officially saying it to you." Link chuckles and stops moving forward, he walks turns to her, and looks into her eyes. "There's a lot about you that's so likable and respectable, you're a good person and I'm glad we became friends."

"Stoppp." Ruby looks up at him and looks into his eyes now. "You're too nice."

"Ruby..." Link blushes and brings his hand up to touch her cheek

"Link..." Ruby smiles waits for a response, whether it is verbal or physical is up to her 'date'

Unfortunately, this warm moment is interrupted when they see a woman wearing an all black skin tight outfit and a mask, running along the rooftops of Beacon Academy. They huntsman and huntress in training look at each other with sorrow and regret in their eyes before they begin sprinting to pursue the figure. After a delayed short trip that has turned into a long jog, the two students arrive outside the building revealed to be the CCT system tower. Link and Ruby slowly approach carefully to not be spotted by the woman. They peek from behind a stone wall and see the coast is clear for now.

"Let's move." Link directs Ruby with whispers and a hand signal

"Right." Ruby mumbles

The two of them emerge from behind the wall and walk up to the CCT building, only to stop when they notice the unconscious guard when they peek from behind a stone wall. Ruby gasps and pulls out her scroll, rather than calling any of her friends for backup, she calls for her weapon locker which only takes seconds to arrive, it buries itself into the ground of the courtyard and opens to reveal Crescent Rose

"Good thinking, we'll need the firepower." Link nods

"Um, isn't it your turn?" Ruby snickers

"N-no. I don't keep my weapons in my locker." Link frowns at his mistake. "I can go to my dorm and come back if you stall them."

"What? Why?! What are you going to fight with?" The huntress asks with concern. "There's no time for a slowpoke like you go get your weapons and come back."

"Fine... I'm still capable. I have hands, feet, and a boomerang, I'll back you up." Link nods firmly

"Okay!" Ruby exclaims

Despite having just said he would back Ruby up, it's Link who leads the charge inside, overly eager to this mysterious woman roaming around Beacon when everyone is away enjoying the dance. The pair enters the tower and upon running towards the elevator, they notice four unconscious Atlas soldiers on the ground

"Of course they were no match." Link shakes his head

"Now's not the time for remarks, come on!" Ruby shouts, frantically on the button that calls for the elevator

Link and Ruby enter the elevator, both taking a step back upon seeing two more unconscious Atlas soldiers inside the elevator. Ruby gasps but Link maintains his composure and urges his partner to follow. She nods and carefully steps inside, doing her absolute best to avoid stepping on anybody. Fifteen seconds later, the doors open and both huntsman and huntress exit, stunned by the silence but still on guard

"Hello?" Ruby stumbles on her heels but recovers quickly

"Kick off the shoes, Ruby." Link whispers

"N-no, I've made some amazing progress tonight, I can't ruin it by-!"

"Hello." The woman emerges from behind the main desk in the room, she smirks when seeing it's Ruby Rose, a familiar foe, and Link, also a familiar person who is weaponless

(Cinder...) Link frowns and grabs his boomerang. (I hope Ruby can do the heavy lifting, I can't do a lot with only this.)

"Excuse me?" Ruby aims crescent rose at her. "...You know, it's not a masquerade party, so why don't you take off that-!"

Cinder's smile fades as she removes a cylinder shaped container from her belt and empties it in front of herself, swinging her left arm like a hook. The substance glows, revealing it to be dust. The dust turns into glass shards that go flying at both of the students

"Look out!" Link wraps his arms around Ruby's waist and pulls her from harm's way, taking cover behind another long desk

BOOM!

The 'glass shards' explode when they make contact with the wall. Angry, Ruby aggressively slaps Link's hands to break his grip and races to confront Cinder and opens fire, but Cinder having faced this opponent before, easily blocks each shot with her hand as parts of her outfit glow

"Hmph!" Link rises from behind the desk and launches his boomerang, but it's dodged effortlessly

"Is that all your little toy does?" Cinder taunts, but her expression changes to a puzzled one as Link grins

The boomerang is dodged with ease but when it circles around, it remains close to Cinder, wind forms behind and on the boomerang itself, while it doesn't strike the woman in the burglar outfit, the wind forcefully drags her closer to Ruby

"W-what?!" Cinder's angrily shouts as her attempts to retreat are futile

"HYAH!"

Ruby launches herself forward with a shot from crescent rose and with a massive swing, bringing her scythe crashing down but with luck on her side and the boomerang losing speed and moment, the wind stops and Cinder is able to dodge. However, Ruby fires another shot and spins while hanging on to her weapon by the handle, landing a double footed kick, her heels digging into Cinder's chest and sending her stumbling back a few feet. Now it's Link's turn, he leaps over Ruby and charges at Cinder before she can recompose herself. First comes a powerful left hook that lands flush and would have knocked the woman out had she not activated her aura, she does stumble back and that's when a straight right hand comes her way

"Is that all? Weak boy!"

Cinder leaps and lands on the hand of Link's hand as he's throwing his punch, then she goes even further and jumps on his back, then uses the young man as a launching pad to jump in the air, spinning over and over like a ball and then emerging into a pose, summoning two blades in the process. She combines the blades into a bow and fires three arrows onto a defenseless Link, the sharp arrows, light up and explode on impact...

"LINK!" Ruby cries out and tries to run to his aid

"Not another step..."

Cinder lands on the ground with her bow drawn, the woman and girl stare each other down. But the two versus one fight is interrupted by the opening of elevator doors and the appearance of James Ironwood. Ruby is happy to be receiving even more backup, until she notices that Cinder has disappeared

"What are you two doing here? There's a dance going on." Ironwood narrows his eyes

"Ugh, yeah we know." Link groans as he emerges from rubble and a caved in floor

"Link! You're okay!" Ruby at last kicks off her shoes and runs to hug him. "Never scare me like that again!"

"I wasn't trying to... Heh." Link chuckles, he is completely unharmed, mostly shaken up and out of breath

"Both you take a seat, I need statements and then I will review the camera footage myself to see if your story adds up." Ironwood speaks sternly

"This wasn't our fault." Ruby whines whilst picking up her shoes and putting crescent rose in its resting state. "A woman took out all those soldiers, Link and I were trying to stop her. When we came in here, she was hiding behind that desk. Sadly, we don't know what she was up to."

(Thank goodness Ruby is the one speaking. If this was me saying any of this, Ironwood would already be attempting to place us under arrest.)

"A woman you say?" Ironwood rubs his chin, his expression eases up because of Ruby's words. "Okay then, I will still need statements from both of you."

General Ironwood walks over to the desk Ruby points at and investigates what Cinder could have possibly had to do or want from the CCT tower. But in spite of his request for the students to stay put, it's Link who breaks the rules by grabbing Ruby's hand and leading her as they sprint to the elevator and quickly shut the door before Ironwood can chase them down

"STOP!" Ironwood runs and slams his fist on the door, but it doesn't budge

Beacon Academy: The Dormitories

Successfully getting away from Ironwood proves to be too easy and now the pair return to where the night began for Link. He and Ruby 'sneakily' stop by the team RWBY dorm so that Ruby can pick up a change of clothes, but more importantly, her boots. Although there is nothing to be sneaky about, all of the dorms are empty as the dance is still ongoing. Throughout their entire 'sneaking' session, Ruby giggles uncontrollably and Link smiles, the two students despite having just battled, are in a happier mood than when they were at the actual dance. When they reach Link's dorm, Ruby cannot stop tapping the floor with her feet only covered by her black stocking

"Come on! Hurry Link, somebody is gonna see us and question why we aren't at the dance." Ruby whispers. "I mean, we'll get asked why we left the dance anyway but that can wait until tomorrow."

"There's nobody even here right now." Link chuckles and takes his time to unlock the dorm. "Calm down Ruby."

"Link! How can you be so calm?" Ruby looks around. "You almost got blown up, somehow you don't have a scratch on you, we dodged the Atlas general and we're sneaking back to your dorm."

The huntress' giggles slowly come to a close, but that's when she's taken by surprise, courtesy of Link placing both of his hands on her shoulders and gently 'pushing' against the door to his room, he holds her shoulders and 'pins' her in the current spot she's on

"I'm so calm because I'm here with you right now." Link holds her against the door and presses a kiss on her forehead. "And I know for a fact that nobody is around. Besides, if anybody is looming around the corner, I don't care about them. What I care about is ending this night on a high with you. Your happiness and giggling going away does not make me happy."

"What would make you happy then?" Ruby's heart rate increases but it's not from nerves, it's the young man whose face is inches away from hers

"This..."

Link lets go of her shoulder and gently grabs onto Ruby's chin, lifting her head up and making her look up at him. Both girl and boy are blushing, excitement, panic, worry, and eagerness is what they feel as the moment is tense and it feels as if they are moving in slow motion. Ruby's silver eyes water with tears of joy, they stare into Link's dark blue eyes that are full of happiness and glee. The blonde boy closes the distance and kisses Ruby on the lips, the moment feels magical and out of instinct, the huntress lifts her arms and wraps them around the huntsman's neck. Link also leans into the kiss with his entire body, embracing his body with hers, wrapping his free arm around her and further pushing her into the door as their kiss intensifies with turning heads to deepen the kiss and the caressing of Ruby's chin and lower back

"L-link..." Ruby's voice is muffled, her entire face is crimson red but for once she is not ashamed of it

"Hm?" Link leans up, ending their kiss and leaving both of them catching their breath

"C-can we go inside your dorm?" Ruby's eyes are big, bubbly, and full of life. "Please?"

"Yes, of course." Link smiles and leans down to give her a quick peck on her lips before opening his door and motioning her to enter

"Hehe..." Ruby hurriedly enters the door as does her friend

As soon as the door shuts behind them, Ruby jumps into Link's arms, wrapping her arms around his neck again and awkwardly tries to wrap her legs around his waist, but only manages to do one. Link, sensing the struggle, places his hands under Ruby's legs, essentially squeezing her hamstrings and holds her firmly

"Don't judge me, I've never done this." Ruby giggles and initiates a quick kiss

"Looks like we are going to learn together then. I've never done this either." Link squeezes Ruby's legs, which makes her blush

"S-stop, don't get touchy either, I just want to kiss." Ruby attempts to frown, but the pleasure written on her face and happiness in her eyes overshadows anything

"I won't. You have my complete respect, attention, and affection."

The word 'affection' makes the teenagers stop all their talking and return to passionately kissing each other. Ruby pushes forward and initiates the kiss, with Link's help she is now able to properly wrap her legs around his waist. The latter kisses back and even daringly uses his tongue to teasingly touch hers, which garners a brief moan and muffle from the huntress. Soon enough, Link walks to his bed and carries Ruby in the process. Sitting on the bed, he kicks off his dress shoes and lies back so that he is back first onto the bed and Ruby is on top of him. The young huntsman and huntress continue kissing and touching each other's faces as the night carries on. While not doing much dancing, they have their own version of fun and are now ending the night 'on a high' expressing their affection for one another and all to themselves...
