The world was swirling around Sakura. Her hand was stuck to the portkey that Professor McGonagall was holding, and it felt as if a hook was set just behind her navel. The sensation was not too bad though, if a bit unpleasant.

They landed in an alleyway, shops lining both sides of the street. Witches and Wizards in colorful robes were bustling up and down the street, going about their tasks.

"Welcome to Diagon Alley!" Eriol smiled at them. "This is one of the few places truly safe for magic users to be themselves without fear of discovery. Everyone in here has some ties to magic."

Sakura looked around in wonder. So many shops, selling things to help witches and wizards to do their magic. Shops of spells that she would be able to cast both with her wand and without it. She felt her eyes prickle with tears.

She felt Tomoyo take her hand and give a gentle squeeze. "Are you alright, Sakura-chan?"

Sakura smiled at her best friend. "I'm good, Tomoyo-chan. It just feels so right. My magic seems happy too."
Syaoran gave her a grin as he took her other hand. "Well, where to first… um, Professor." He tacked on the honorific as an afterthought.

"We should obtain funds for Mihara, Daidouji, and Yamazaki. I believe there is a school fund for that, Minerva?" Eriol asked the Headmistress.

"Well, yes but all of their parents gave me muggle money to transfer to wizarding coin. I am not good with Yen. Miss Mihara, would you assist me when we get to the bank?"

Chiharu smiles "Of course, Professor. What about Sakura-chan and Li-Kun?"

Eriol clapped both on the shoulder. "Syaoran has money from his family. The Li's are very old. As for Sakura, well as a blood relative of Clow Reed, she has also been taken care of. The man was blessed with foresight and made sure each of his successors was taken care of."

Kero grumbled from her shoulder. "He was blessed with being a pain in the butt."
E

riol reached over and affectionally patted the top of Kero's head in response. "Anyways, come along you two. We'll go to Sakura's vault and retrieve some money for her. See you all at the wand shop, Minerva?"

The Headmistress nodded. "I understand. You are making Kinomoto's wand, are you not?"

Eriol nodded. "Wands do not appreciate use staff using folk. So we need a wand from a source that understands our need for such a thing."

Sakura was feeling confused, but Kero nodded along with Eriol's words. "It was the same for Clow. He couldn't use a regular wand after he created his staff. So, he made one from one of my wing feathers."

Eriol smiled at him. "Exactly. Though Spinel has volunteered his feather for Sakura's wand. I'll explain why that is needed later."

She did want to ask more but the urge to get out and see more of the wizarding market place was too strong. They were off to Gringrotts.

The goblins had not been in a good mood when they had gotten their money. Earlier that same year, a group of wizards had broken in and made off with a dragon guarding the place. Still, the goblins seemed to respect Eriol and they got through in less than an hour. They sat on benches outside the wand shop, waiting for the others.

As they sat there, they noticed a redheaded girl walk by, holding hands with a boy with messy black hair. The boy had bright green eyes and a jagged scar on his forehead.

Eriol seemed very interested as the couple went into the wand shop.

"Is that someone you know, Eriol?"

The magician shook his head. "No, not at all. The girl though will be at Hogwarts in her seventh year."

They continued to sit and wait. A little while later, the couple came out again.

"I'm glad your wand is alright, Harry." The girl smiled as she squeezed his hand. "Olivander said you did a good job fixing it."

The boy, Harry Sakura guessed, smiled back at her. "Thanks, Gin. I'm glad it's back too. Still, wish I was coming back to Hogwarts with you."

Whatever the girl was about to say was cut-off as Professor McGonagall and the other first years from Japan came up to the shop.

"Well. Good morning, Harry. Weasley." The Headmistress greeted.

"Headmistress." Both greeted back.

"No need to be so formal, Harry. You're an adult now and not in school. Minerva will do for you." The teacher offered him a fond smile.

"Of course, Minerva." The young man said as if the words were foreign in his mouth. "New students?" He asked.

"Yes, we are getting a few from Japan this cycle. I wanted to bring them in myself. You'll met them soon, Miss Weasley."

The redheaded girl, the one Harry had called Gin, was looking right at Sakura. "You got lovely eyes." The girl gave Sakura a reassuring smile.

"Thank you," Sakura said proudly.

"I'll see you all again soon." She waved and she and Harry walked away.

"Wow, first day in the Wizarding World and an encounter with Harry Potter. Lucky the lot of you were not turned into troublemakers." The Headmistress teased.

Everyone else in the group looked confused at the name Harry Potter, other than Eriol and Syaoran.

"Do you know him, Syaoran?" Sakura asked him.

"I know of him," Syaoran admitted. "Our entire world knows his name. As a baby, he defeated one of the most evil dark wizards ever. Though the details on how are murky at best. I don't believe that he picked up his slain mother's wand and dueled Voldermort."

"Tom Riddle," Eriol corrected. "The name he took for himself has been declared unspeakable. Everyone must refer to him as the dark Wizard Tom Riddle. It's to make sure his legacy of terror does not remain, and we humanize his memory. Magic can do funny things sometimes."

The Headmistress nodded. "I cannot agree more. Anyways, shall we get these children their wands?"

Sakura noticed that her friends, other than Syaoran, all seemed very excited. She wondered if he would face a similar problem to her own.

There were two men inside. An older man who looked like he had seen far too much in his many years, and a much younger man. He did not look much older than Harry Potter.

"Hello, Olivander." Professor McGonagall greeted. "I see you are finally taking on an apprentice."

The older man smiled weakly. "Yes. After my imprisonment last year, it's time I step back from wand-making. My grandson here studied wand lore abroad and just recently returned to the Isles."

The Headmistress nodded. "Yes, I recall you going for the OWLS and NEWTS for a wand maker, Amos. Make us a Hogwarts proud of the wands you make for future generations of witches and wizards."

The young man bowed. "Of course, Minerva. It will be my honor to try and match these new faces to their partners." He turned to look at Sakura. "I'm afraid nothing here is suited to your powers though. I worry any of the wands would combust trying to replicate that sheer magical energy."

Eriol spoke up for her. "We are handing that situation, Mister Olivander. No need to worry."

The man gave her an apologetic look. "Sorry, I saw a wand explode once. It's not a pleasant sight."

Sakura took a large step away from the counter and the vast amount of magical implements behind it.

The older man however, stepped forward. "While My grandson, helps the others, may I see your magical tool?" He asked Sakura.

She looked to Eriol who nodded again. Tomoyo had stepped up to the counter and was being given wands to test out.

She took the string from around her neck and let the Key drop from her grasp. The man moved to catch it but stopped as Sakura's magic circle appeared beneath her feet.

"Oh Key, that hides the power of the stars!

Show your true power before me!
By the covenant I, Sakura, command you!
RELEASE!"

Power whelmed up in her as the pendent grew into her familiar staff. She caught it offered it to the man.

"Marvelous!" The wandmaker praised. He examined the staff. "You didn't make this staff yourself." He noted. "It was altered by your powers but was made by another. What's more, I can sense it is nearing it's limit."

Sakura must have looked shocked because Eriol gave her a reassuring smile. "It was always the plan that one day, your powers would manifest a new staff for you. One capable of wielding all your power and not just part of it. How that staff appears, even I don't know."

The wandmaker handed the staff back to Sakura. "I sense it will be soon. The staff seems to know it will rest soon. Don't be sad. A wand is a partner for life but even they can wear out or break down. The loss of one magical tool is just the chance at a new partnership."

Sakura nodded gravely as she willed her staff back into it's Key form. "I understand. Thank you, sir."

He chuckled. "When you do manifest your very own staff, please come by. I would love to see what your powers create, miss. I told another boy eight years ago this as well, but I think we can expect great things from you."

It was a short time later that they left the wand shop and went to fill the other items on the list. Each shop had lovely things to see. The robe shop in particular was interesting to Tomoyo, who got praised by the owner for the school uniforms she had made for the three of them. The lady had even given Tomoyo some money to commission one suit for a boy and a girl so she could copy them and sell them in her shop.

"And she said I would get a portion for each uniform sold!" Tomoyo said happily as they skipped off to the bookstore.

Sakura hugged her best friend, glad to share in her excitement. The day was coming to an end though, and all too soon they would need to go to Eriol's house. And then in the morning, off to Hogwarts. Sakura looked up at that blue sky. She hoped she was ready for whatever lay ahead."
