Fairy Heroes Academia 9
Not Exactly A Day At Universal Studios Japan
Lucy frowned at the villains beginning their advance. Taking a step forward, she prepared to change her outfit to attack. Todoroki, however, extended his arm forward, stopping her in her tracks, "Hold on." Placing his other hand forward, he froze all of the villains in their tracks.
"Subduing the villains before it escalates further." Todoroki said, "The battle against the class rep reminded me of that." He told Lucy before turning back to the villains. "So the plan was to scatter us, then kill us. You were woefully unprepared."
Taking in their appearance, it seemed like they all didn't even try to struggle against the ice, "In fact, it looks to me as though you've had no training. You haven't the slightest idea how to use your Quirks." He took a couple of steps forward toward the villains.
"This power…" One of the frozen thugs muttered, "He froze us the instant we warped here."
"He's not a kid, he's a monster!" Another villain yelled.
"So cold…" Yet another groaned.
"We don't even have to fight?" Lucy said as they walked past the frozen thugs, "Alright! Nice job Todoroki!"
Todoroki walked silently as he mulled over the past events, the villain with the hands all over him particularly, 'How do they plan to kill All Might? At first, I thought they gathered a force of elite criminals who could simply overpower him.'
He brought his foot down freezing the ground in front of him, causing a villain to quite literally freeze in his tracks. With a glow, now donned in her Taurus outfit Lucy caught a spear handled by a bird-like villain, swinging him along with the spear to the floor, and activated her magic, "Earth Wave!" The ground burst as the villain and spear hit the floor, damaging any more oncoming villains.
Todoroki was pulled out of his thoughts as he studied the damage the blonde girl could do. Shaking his head he focused, "Most of these villains are low-level thugs. Just pawns." He informed Lucy, who nodded.
"Yeah, this didn't seem like a well-calculated attack." Lucy agreed as the villains groaned in defeat.
"From what I can tell, there are only four or five truly dangerous people here." The icyhot teen stated. "If that's the case then what we need right now is more information."
Lucy nodded in agreement, having deduced that earlier, "I was thinking the same thing."
Todoroki turned to the villains, "If you stay frozen your cells will slowly die as your body succumbs to frostbite and hypothermia." The thugs grew fearful, as they struggled to breathe from fear and the cold. Lucy gasped slightly at the boy's slight threat.
"Luckily for you, I wanna be a hero. So I'd like to avoid any unnecessary cruelty." A villain teared up as Todorki placed his right hand over his face, frost dancing along his palm. "But I can only do that if you tell me how you plan to kill All Might. That's the only way you'll survive."
Lucy shivered, suddenly feeling much colder than before as she gazed at her companion. 'If he's serious, then he's kinda scary…" She shifted her attention to the villain reinforcements who began circling them. 'They're trying to be scarier though!"
. . .
Shoji's extra appendages extended as he listened around the facility. The remaining members of the class who hadn't been teleported away were gathered nearby. This included Thirteen, Mina, Uraraka, Sero, Shoji, and Iida.
"Shoji." Iida called, "Got them? Anything? Where is everyone?" He calmly asked, his gaze locked on Kurogiri.
"They've been scattered across the facility." Shoji replied, listening around with an extended ear, "But our classmates are still here."
The other students sighed in relief at the good news. "But what do we do?" Sero asked, as they all refocused on Kurogiri, "The guy's not affected by physical attacks and can apparently teleport stuff?" He noted.
Thirteen looked down as she weighed her options, "Tenya Iida." She firmly called.
"Yes?" Iida responded.
"I have a job for you. Run to the school and tell the faculty what's going on here." She ordered, surprising Iida. "The alarms aren't sounding, and our phones and radios are useless right now. One of these villains must be to blame."
"Even though Eraser Head is canceling people's Quirks left and right, we're still completely sealed off from the outside world." Thirteen informed, "Likely, whoever is causing this interference hid as soon as they warped into the USJ. They could be anywhere. Impossible to hunt down."
Thirteen turned to Iida, "It'll be faster for you to run and get help than for us to find whoever's jamming everything." Using her years worth of experience, she decided that this would be the better course of action. The area was too big for them to possibly find one person, not to mention they had no idea what this individual looked like, or what they could do.
"Yes, but-" Iida stepped forward to argue, not for his sake but for everyone else's, "It would be disgraceful for me to leave you all behind."
"It's okay, Iida!" Mina stepped forward, "There are probably tons of alarms outside, and that's why they kept us all trapped here in USJ. Lucy trusted you to be in our student council, so I'll put my trust in you too!" The pinkette declared.
Sero took a step forward as well, standing alongside her, "As long as you can get outside, they won't follow. Blow this bastard mist away with those Engine Legs!"
"Use your Quirk to save others." Thirteen urged, "Be a real hero!"
Shoji stepped up too, no words needed to voice his support.
"We can win this!" Uraraka piped up behind him, causing him to turn his head towards her in shock, "I know you can get through and find someone to help us out, Iida! Please, just try to do it!"
Iida faced forward, their combined words reaching him, his face became determined as his thrusters popped out, he got into his running position, preparing to take off…
"Even if this is your only option, are you really foolish enough to strategize in front of your enemy?" Kurogiri's deep voice menacingly questioned, his Quirk making his misty body expand.
"It won't matter if you know what we're planning or not when I'm done with you!" Thirteen pointed her finger at him, a cap coming off with a hiss as the force sucked in everything in Thirteen's vicinity, especially Kurogiri's Mist. "Black Hole!"
. . .
In the teacher's lounge at UA, skinny All Might sat trying to reach Thirteen or Aizawa, trying to check in to see how things were going after having missed the lesson from overexerting himself stopping crime earlier in the day.
"The number you have dialed is not in service, or has been temporarily disconnected. Please check the number and then try again. Thank you."
The automated message ended and All Might sighed, "Can't get through to Thirteen or Aizawa. Then again they are teaching. Unlike me." He mumbled, "I'm neglecting my teaching duties because I spent the entire morning commute being heroic. An amateur move. What was I thinking?" He lamented.
"Maybe I should just show up and say something inspiring at the end." All Might suggested to himself, "Yeah, get a good ten minutes out of my hero form." He stomped his foot determined, his power activating and making him buff once more.
"TIME TO JOIN MY STUDENTS-" Blood spewed from between his teeth as he pushed himself.
"Hold your horses!" Nezu called as he opened the door, Recovery Girl trailing behind him.
"Hello, Nezu, sir! Chiyo!" All Might Greeted, wiping the blood away.
"That's me! The one who could be a mouse, or a dog, or a bear, though the only important thing is… I'm the principal!" The scarred animal spoke happily.
"Your fur looks especially well-groomed and glossy today, sir." All Might complimented.
"The secret is Keratin." Nezu replied, "I'm not sure that humans can get this kind of lustrous shine. But we can talk about grooming later." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a tablet.
A news article was displayed across the screen, 'All Might Resolves Three Incidents in Only One Hour!'
"Look at the news. Shall I read it to you? It says you resolved three incidents in just one hour!" Nezu practically said in one breath.
Shuzenji glared at All Might, "Haven't I told you not to be pushing your body too far?" She said sternly, not really angry, more like concerned.
Nezu sighed, he knew it wasn't All Might's foible completely, "The fault mainly belongs to the ruffians who still cause trouble in this city despite you being here." He turned to All Might, "But you also have to learn not to react every time you hear of an incident."
The shorter pair both looked at the muscular man who sat with his hands on his knees. "You haven't changed in all these years. You've always been proactive. Only now your heroism must be limited to your injury."
Nezu began pacing, "Plus, you've also got the added work of training One For All's successor. You insist on remaining the Symbol of Peace, and the only way you can justify staying out of the spotlight is by teaching." He turned back to All Might, who had begun steaming from holding his form, "That's why I gave you this job."
"Oh dear you're smoking, that can't be good." Nezu commented as All Might transformed back into Toshinori. "I told you that you need to rest when you can." Shuzenji sighed, "I'm glad you're helping people, but it's counterproductive to your health."
"It looks like you need to stay here in the lounge and relax a little while longer." Nezu hopped up on the couch parallel to Toshinori and sat down. "The other teachers will understand. They're more than capable."
"But now that you are a teacher here, All Might, I really do wish you'd prioritize your students over your hero work. They deserve it." Nezu slightly chastised the man. "After all, there are plenty of hero agencies working throughout the city."
"Yeah, you're right, principal." All Might relented. "So, I was gonna head over to the USJ to make an appearance now actually, if you don't mind."
"Even if you went now, you would have to return right away." Recovery Girl informed, and Nezu decided that this conversation would warrant some tea and urged some into a cup.
"You might as well stick around and we can have a discussion." Nezu pushed the cup of tea towards All Might, "Here, drink up."
"We wanted to discuss two of your students." Nezu said as he sipped some tea, "Lucy Heartfilia and Levy McGarden." All Might's eyes widened slightly, not expecting that. 'I'm concerned that I couldn't reach Thirteen or Aizawa, but this is my chance to get some information.' All Might thought to himself as he listened to what they had to say.
"Earlier I received permission to inform you two of a secret." Recovery Girl spoke, grabbing her own cup of tea, "Those girls do not have amnesia." She revealed, "While it is true they are foreign to Japan, they do not have records of ever existing."
Nezu and All Might were both at a loss for words so Shuzenji just decided to continue, "We decided it was best if they said that they have amnesia because the truth is far more preposterous."
She sipped her tea before continuing, taking a steady breath, "They are from a different world and don't have Quirks at all." She sipped her tea once more, "This is good, where did you buy this?"
"A-a different world?" All Might spit out his tea. Nezu rubbed at his chin thoughtfully, "Another world? No Quirk? If this is true then this opens up many questions." The small principal stated.
He turned to the nurse, who had sat down beside him on the couch, "I take it all their paperwork is forged and this is why you took them in?" Nezu queried. Recovery Girl nodded, "They really are good girls… They deserved the chance to prove themselves."
"If they don't have Quirks, how do you explain their abilities?" All Might asked.
"Magic!" Recovery Girl waved her arms in the air. "Seriously. It really is magic. They say there's a mass quantity in the air that's underused." She informed the two. "We kept it all a secret to avoid trouble."
Nezu nodded, "Having been experimented on for being different, I can certainly sympathize with the girls. If this gets out though…" He trailed, with Shuzenji nodding grimly.
"I'm well aware, with everything going on, the best course of action was to let you two in on it." She explained, "If their secret was found out… I would rather not think about what would happen right now."
The two nodded in understanding. They sat silently as they let the conversation and tea settle in their heads and stomachs if they had one. They had plenty to talk about, but where could they even begin now? "Good tea." All Might pointed out as he drank from his cup.
. . .
Midoriya stood on a yacht with Mineta and Tsu, staring intensely at the water and the villains before him. They had been stranded in the shipwreck zone, which was flooded with water, and many of the villains had been idly watching them.
Midoriya was first sent directly into the water, luckily he was saved by the frog girl, who proved her prowess in underwater combat. Unfortunately, they were outnumbered, so they decided to regroup on the boat. And that brings us to the present with Mineta crying waterfalls.
"Uh, what do you mean "fight"? Are you crazy?! These guys might be able to kill ALL MIGHT!" He hysterically cried, "And you think we can take them?! Did you hit your head when we got warped here?! The best plan is for us to just wait for a real pro from UA to come save us!" He stomped his feet as he cried.
"Think about it." Midoriya said, "Those villains down there clearly have an advantage in the water, and assume that's where we'll fight." He analyzed the scene, with many of the villains they were facing camping out in the water, their Quirks well suited to the are.
"Are you even listening?!" Mineta cried out.
"If that's the case, they must've known what was inside the USJ before they warped in." Tsu assessed.
Midoriya nodded, "Yeah, but for a group with such careful planning, there's one thing that really sticks out to me, something that just doesn't add up." He turned to Tsu, "They sent you here, Asui-"
She turned to him and he blushed, "Uh-" "Ribbit."
"Um- Whoops! I meant Tsu!" He corrected quickly, "Yeah, they warped you to the shipwreck zone." He nervously shook, hoping he didn't offend her and having the added trouble using a nickname for a girl, he was a mess.
"That kinda fell apart on you, didn't it?" She said calmly as Midoriya sighed, easing up a tad more.
"A little bit."
"But why does it matter that she's here?!" Mineta needed to know at this point, this chatter was not getting them anywhere.
"Yeah, okay, right." Midoriya said as he focused once more, "It means the villains probably have no idea what our Quirks are!"
"Uh, ribbit." Tsu mulled it over, "You've got a point." She turned to a zone with flames painted around the dome enclosing it, "If they knew I was a frog, they would've sent me into that fire zone over there instead of somewhere full of water."
The trio looked back at the villains, "They probably separated us because they didn't know what we could do, and planned to overpower us once we were in smaller groups." Midoriya mentioned, "Easier to pick us off one by one."
The green-haired teen continued, "We can use that to our advantage. They don't know what our Quirks are. So for all they know, the three of us could be super powerful." He suggested.
"Look," They all studied the still swimming villains, "None of them are trying to climb into the boat. That proves they're a little unsure. But that means they're not going to underestimate us, either. They're being smart and playing it safe. For now…"
"So, let's talk Quirks." Tsu suggested, "I'll go first if you want. Obviously, I can jump high and cling to pretty much any wall. And of course, there's my tongue. I can stick it out for about 20 meters."
Mineta's nose bled as he imagined it, Tsu noticed the look on his face and frowned slightly, "Oh yeah, and I can spit out my stomach so I can clean it."
Mineta wiped the blood from his nose, only very slightly less interested, but still very interested. The frog girl continued, "Finally, I also secrete a toxic mucus. It just stings a bit."
That brought a blush to Mineta's face, 'Secrete mucus…' The pair ignored him while continuing a civil conversation.
"We can probably only use my jumping and my tongue here."
"Mucus…." Mineta shuddered in delight.
"Forget about the last things." Tsu waved off.
Midoriya spoke up, "I figured you were powerful but that's crazy." He was in awe of this girl's abilities, enrolled at a school like UA... She would be a Pro in no time, not to mention the number of people who would be interested in a Frog themed Hero as cute as her, which he meant in a completely friendly way.
"I have my super strength, I've been working hard to gain control over it, but if I throw too much power into it, then it comes at a price." Midoriya informed, "I could pretty much put myself out of commission."
"Oh yeah, I remember you doing pretty good with Bakugo until you unleashed that final attack and hurt yourself. Ribbit." Tsu said.
The freckled teen blushed, 'Oh man I forgot everyone saw that!'
"I've got these sticky balls." Mineta said, reaching for one of his balls and pulling it off… of his head. He stuck in on the ship's wall as a demonstration, "Their strength varies. Depending on how I'm feeling, they might stick to something for a whole day."
The purple teen tapped the ball, "They grow back as fast as I pull 'em off. But I'll bleed if I use too many. Oh and they don't stick to me. I just bounce right off 'em." He continued to repeatedly slap his ball.
"..."
There was a noticeable silence as the two green-haired teens staired and the purple teen, a couple of seconds passing with no comment or action of any kind. Mineta teared up, whimpering, until full on crying again.
"Don't look at me like that! THIS is why I said we should wait for THE REAL HEROES!" Mineta wailed, "My Quirk is totally unfit for battle we're gonna diiiiiiiiie!"
"No, you have an incredible power!" Midoriya sweatdropped, trying to console the pervy boy, "Really! We just have to figure out how to use it!"
Their conversation was cut short as one of the water villains slashed at the boat, a diagonal line cutting directly across the exterior and interior of the yacht, splitting it cleanly.
"I'm starting to get bored!" A sea villain called, his eyes were fully blue, with gills adorning the sides of his face, he had no lips and his teeth could be seen. "Let's get this show on the road!"
"That's a great power." Tsu commented, "Now the ship's sinking."
Mineta screamed, chucking the balls of his head to the villains, with most of them landing in the water harmlessly. "Mineta, don't freak out!" Midoriya called to him. When it wasn't working Minta turned to Midoriya, still crying, and pointed to the villains.
"You gotta calm down!" Izuku cried back at the boy, before calming himself down, "They'll guess your Quirk!" He peeked over the edge of the boat.
There was a blue villain, a sharkman-like hybrid, wearing goggles, with blue hair styled up like a dorsal fin, all complete with a water tank backpack supplying water directly into his mouth. He tried to shoo the balls away, without directly making contact, and Midoriya noticed this.
"Wait, they're afraid to touch them." Realization dawned on him.
The split boat began to sink, slowly descending into the water. The sharkman spoke, "The boat will be fully submerged in less than a minute. And once they're in the water they don't stand a chance against us."
"WE'RE FISH FOOD!" Mineta's eyes rolled to the back of his head as he panicked.
"So Mineta, are you really sure the hero thing is right for you?" Tsu prodded, keeping her cool head, even in a situation like this.
"SHUT UP!" Mineta cried, "It's weirder not to be scared right now!" Snot and tears flowed down his face, "We just got outta junior high a little while ago! I DIDN'T THINK I'D BE FACING DEATH A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING UA!"
"I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M GONNA DIE WITHOUT EVER GETTING TO TOUCH YAOYOROZU'S BOOBS!" Mineta was rambling at this point.
"Listen up." Midoriya said, "An enemy that's certain of their victory is bound to make this mistake." He pictured his mentor, standing before him heroically as ever, "All Might said something along those lines in a TV interview a while back."
"What does that mean?" Mineta was slumped by the wall, defeated morally. He gasped as he noticed the usually calm Midoriya's fist clenched tightly.
"Now's our chance. We can beat them!"
The sharkman cackled, "Poor babies. Sounds like they're crying for their mommies up there." He mocked.
"Hey, now." The armored gill villain interjected, "Don't forget Shigaraki told us to keep our guards up. We can't judge 'em by how old they are but by their Quirks… They could do anything." He raised his right hand, the water being dragged along, encasing his hand, "Of course, we'll definitely have an advantage in the water, so I'm not exactly worried for us."
"AAAAHHH!" Midoriya let out a battle cry.
"You can't be serious Midoriya what're you-" Mineta chimed in, but Midoriya's cry drowned him out.
'Come on, act like Kacchan would.' Activating his Quirk, he jumped against the rail of the boat, diving straight for the water villains, "Now DIE!"
"Stupid move, kid." The water villain snorted, flexing his water hand.
Midoriya was glowing with the energy of OFA, 'Now just like All Might!' Midoriya aimed his left arm toward, his middle finger against his thumb, he held his left arm firmly with his right arm, expecting a hard recoil from this move. 'I'm not going to get hurt this time!'
'Even with my control, I wouldn't be able to get all of them at once when they're in a circle around the perimeter of the boat. Besides, there are still other enemies outside of the shipwreck zone, so I should spare my energy if I can.'
"After he hits the water, he's mine!" One of the sea villains snarled.
Midoriya's jaw clenched as he prepared his attack, 'We don't need to defeat them, we just need to keep everyone safe!' One For All's glow intensified as he channeled his power for his move.
Tsu held Mineta under her arm, the boy would normally enjoy this, but he was too frightened to even notice. "Ready Mineta?"
Mineta's teeth chattered as he thought to himself, 'Even though he's as scared as I am, even though he's shaking… he's still going through with this.'
"TAKE THIS! DELAWARE SMASH!" Midoriya flicked his finger, the force throwing him back up higher, and a blast of air was sent directly into the water, causing the once calm water to erratically shift into furious waves, almost like a storm.
Midoriya, still in the air, flexed his hand, feeling it slightly tense from the foreign force. 'This isn't like before, I'm not hurt!' Ignoring his sore fingers, he turned to his classmates and held out his other hand, "Tsu! Mineta, now!"
"Ribbit!" Tsu's superior jumping was apparent when she launched herself into the air, still carrying Mineta. She sent her tongue out, and Midoriya reached toward it, the slimy muscular organ wrapping around Midoriya's wrist and dragging him away midair.
'What the heck, Midoriya? How do you do it?' Mineta grabbed his spherical hair, 'You're acting so cool, and I'm not helping at all.'
Tsu glanced down, noticing Mineta, "AAAHHH! TAKE THIS, YOU VILLAINS!" He furiously ripped his balls off his head and threw them at the villains, an excess amount making its way into the water. "YOU CAN EAT MY STICKY BALLS!"
"What's going on?!" The villains and Mineta's balls were both being dragged into the whirlpool that Midoriya's Quirk made. "I'm getting dragged in!" The balls all began to stick to the villains, as they struggled to take them off to no use.
"Did these come from that kid?"
"I can't get 'em offa me!"
The villains were cut off as they were each swept up in the whirlpool. The water rose up in the center in a splash from the pressure of the attack, before retreating in on itself, "If a strong force is applied to water's surface, the water would be pushed away and the come rushing right back to the middle!" Midoriya called.
"I'm stuck!" A villain cried as they were all forcefully shoved together, Mineta's balls acting like glue, sticking them all together without escape, "You're gonna drown me!" The water erupted up into the air sending the immobile villains flying away safely out of the water.
"We rounded them all up. Not too shabby." Tsu said as she carried them to safety, "You guys are amazing. Both of you." Mineta's eyes were welled up with tears and his head slightly bled from overuse of his Quirk.
Midoriya proudly clenched his fist, 'I did it.' He looked up at his classmates, "No, we did it."
"I guess we passed the shipwreck zone." Tsu said, rushing the three of them away.
. . .
Aizawa grunted as he disposed of another villain, unconscious bodies littering the floor as the teacher had not stopped moving once he had engaged.
Jumping up high, he wrapped two villains in his binding cloth, tugging hard to bring himself crashing into them, landing perfectly with a foot on each of their chests. He decided to take this moment to catch his breath.
Red shoes padded on the floor as Shigaraki ran towards Aizawa, "First it was 23 seconds." Shigaraki said.
"Final Boss." Aizawa declared, shooting a strip of cloth toward the villainous boy.
"Then it was 24 seconds." Shigaraki caught the alloyed cloth, yanking it slightly. Aizawa just pulled himself towards the hand-covered teen. "And then 20. Then 17."
Aizawa elbowed Shigaraki clean in the gut, knocking the wind out of the teen. Midoriya, Tsu, and Mineta all poked their heads out of their hiding spots in the water, gasping in amazement at their teacher's display.
They frowned when they examined the scene closer and noticed Shigaraki had caught Aizawa's elbow, not actually affected by his attack. Aizawa panted as his hair fell flat, his Quirk deactivating.
"It was hard to see when you were jumping around, but I found your tell." Shigaraki said, "It's your hair..."
Goggles were covering Aizawa's eyes, preventing everyone from seeing his dry and reddened eyes widen in shock.
"When it droops, it means you've stopped using your Quirk." Aizawa grunted in pain as his elbow felt as if it were melting underneath Shigaraki's palm. "You're having to blink more often. Don't push yourself too hard, now. You might just fall apart."
"Wouldn't that be a shame-" The handsy teen was cut off with an uppercut as a familiar blonde launched herself from the ground. "Urgh!" He fell back to the floor, caught off guard.
"What're you doing here?!" Aizawa asked his student as the two of them jumped backward. Lucy, now dressed in her Virgo Star Dress, grimaced as she noticed his arm, bits of muscle exposed as his flesh crumbled away.
"I'm here to help you!" Lucy insisted, "Todoroki and I were separated by villains, but he's been managing to freeze and incapacitate them… Before we split, we decided that guy," She pointed to Shigaraki who was recovering quickly, "Is the biggest threat there is. There's no way I'll let you take him on alone!"
Aizawa grunted, "Don't be naive!" Villains tried to approach the pair, but they fell through the ground when they tried to get close to them.
"What's with all these holes!" A masked villain with spiky red hair groaned in frustration from where he was trapped.
A pink-haired woman poked her head through one of the holes, a frilly hair piece keeping her hair in place. "I will continue my punishment time on these evildoers for the princess!"
"It looks like that villain is helping us!" Lucy nervously laughed, hoping to cover for her Spirit's intervention. She was grateful for the help, but they needed to have a talk about being more subtle.
Aizawa, having a moment to breathe tried to process that strange exchange, but Shigaraki was glaring daggers at Lucy.
"That cheap shot wasn't very heroic of you." He sneered, "And bringing a strange maid not affiliated with UA must be breaking some rules. And I'm not just saying that 'cause she's a hindrance." Shigaraki muttered.
"I don't need a villain to lecture me on what's heroic!" Lucy frowned, hoping that this conversation wouldn't press any further, unluckily for her, it wouldn't.
"I had it all planned out, that annoying Quirk of yours isn't suited for drawn-out fights against big groups, you would have been out of your element, Eraser Head." Shigaraki stated, finally recovered and standing, watching as his allies fell into pitfalls.
Aizawa wasn't panting as hard anymore, finally able to stand still, his right arm had been rendered useless by Shigaraki previous onslaught. Lucy stood in front of him, blocking the path between him and Shigaraki, Aizawa had to admit that he was shocked that she was remaining so calm.
"Things were going well until this cheater showed up!" Shigaraki hissed, scratching his wrist slightly, "And to think I was almost impressed with your display, Eraser Head!" He chuckled darkly.
"Too bad for you both, I'm not the final boss."
A large bird-looking like monster stood before them, it had a muscular body decorated with scars, a beak-like mouth with sharp teeth poking out, not to mention its brain sticking out like a sore thumb, and two large eyes staring the two down. Somehow it ended up behind them, and the height difference only made it that much more menacing as it towered over them.
Its jaw unhinged as its left hand reached for Aizawa, his hand crushing the teacher's face without any difficulty or remorse whatsoever. Much to Lucy's horror, Nomu tossed the teacher's body to the side and turned its attention to her.
Lucy finally realized what kind of danger she could be facing here, her body trembling as the bird screeched in her face. She looked over at her teacher who was face down, trying to recuperate, although Lucy didn't think he'd be getting up anytime soon.
Swallowing her fear she knew that she had to protect Mr. Aizawa… So why were her legs still shaking? And why did she want to cry?
The Nomu reared its fist, and Lucy knew she had to move… The Nomu's fist launched forward, Lucy shut her eyes, waiting for the blow to hit…
"MOOOOO! YOU'RE NOT TOUCHING HER BEAUUUUUUUUTIFUL BODY!" Taurus had burst from the ground, courtesy of Virgo.
Lucy opened her eyes, a relieving smile coloring her features. "Taurus!"
Shigaraki however wasn't as joyful at the bull's arrival, "Where did he come from?" Shigaraki grunted in disapproval.
"You have your friends, I have mine." Lucy smirked, glad she wouldn't be facing this alone, her outfit glowed, being replaced with Taurus' Star Dress, ready for the extra strength to help with the fight.
Taurus was using his axe to block Nomu's blows, skidding back, feeling the full extent of the monster's blows. Lucy felt herself looking slightly uncertain again as Shigaraki smirked unbeknownst to her because a hand covered his face.
"What do you think of him, cheater?" His raspy voice cut through the air, "He's the bioengineered, anti-Symbol of Peace. But you can call him "Nomu." Don't ever underestimate the final boss."
. . .
"Ah, Black Hole, the Quirk that sucks up matter and turns it to dust. Such an astounding power." Kurogiri complimented calmly even though his body was being sucked up by Thirteen's Quirk.
"However, you're a rescue hero, Thirteen, skilled at saving people from disasters. Consequently, that means you have little fighting experience or battlefield awareness." He tsked, as he created a portal behind the Pro, pulling her in towards it with a yelp.
"He opened a warp gate!" The gate created had channeled her Quirk, and she was uncontrollably forced to use her Quirk on her own body, it tore half of her suit apart, endangering her life in front of all the students.
"How unfortunate. You've turned yourself into dust." Kurogiri sneered at the woman, making the present class members terrified.
Thirteen's Quirk ceased as she had damaged herself horribly, "I'm sorry. He got me." She gasped as she slowly fell over.
"Iida you have to go, now." Mina cried.
'Use your Quirk to save others. Be a real hero!' Thirteen's earlier encouragement rang in his ears, Iida's eyes were shut tight as he steeled his resolve, finally opening them with a newfound determination.
The pipes on his legs blasted and he shot forward, sprinting without delay, "Engiiiiine!" He called as he zoomed past Kurogiri.
Kurogiri, of course, noticed this. "A sheep trying to escape from the wolves. I simply can't allow that."
Iida panted and a warp gate opened directly in front of him as Kurogiri continued, "If other heroes arrive, it'll be harder for us to put an end to All Might."
Iida stomped his feet sideways in an effort to stop himself from entering, he skidded closer and closer to the portal from his momentum, "This responsibility…" He pictured his classmates fighting for their lives, he imagined the rest of the student council that their class had formed, the members still missing, "...was entrusted to me!"
"Classmates! I'll keep you safe!" He vowed to himself, his body almost making contact with the portal. He was saved when Shoji of all people wrapped his many arms around the misty villain and tackled him, catching him unprepared.
"RUN!" Shoji's body rolled on the ground, Kurogiri firmly in his grasp, "I've got him!"
Tenya had never stopped skidding and immediately resumed his dash, "I'll be back in a flash!" He promised, not letting this opportunity slip.
Kurogiri escaped Shoji's hold, and his yellow eyes glared at Iida, "You impertinent child!" He expanded his body, readying to chase after him.
Uraraka was helping tend to Thirteen, but it was at that moment she had noticed a weird item floating in the villains mist. "You won't set foot outside those doors!" Kurogiri growled.
"I have no time for this." A shadow loomed over Iida as Kurogiri pursued him, "BE GONE!" He bellowed, his purple mist obscured Iida's vision as it cloaked his body.
. . .
In the ruined zone, filled with collapsed buildings all in well… ruin, explosions could be seen. "Say goodbye!" Bakugo roared as he blasted some villains away, sending them crashing into a wall. Kirishima meanwhile was caught up in a swordfight, using his hardened arm to parry the sword, and actually smashing through the metal, breaking it. He struck down the villain wielding the sword. Levy moved to contain each of the villains in some runes, containing them until the proper authorities could contain them.
"Think that's the last of these guys." Bakugo panted. "Buncha weaklings."
"All right. Let's hurry and find the rest of our class." Kirishima said, releasing his quirk, "If we're all still in USJ, then everyone else probably is, too." He clenched his fist, "And not all of them have offensive skills like we do. We gotta make sure they're safe." He said determinedly.
"Especially since we screwed things up when we got in the way earlier." He said, remembering how he and Bakugo charged ahead.
"Don't be too hard on yourself." Levy said as she finished up the runes, "You guys did what you believed would help, there's nothing wrong with that."
"But if Thirteen had been able to suck up that villain, then we never would've been separated like that. We have to make it up to the others!" He urged, turning to Bakugo.
"You wanna track everyone down, have fun. But I'm gonna go destroy that warpy bastard." Bakugo declared.
"Huh?" Kirishima was bewildered, "Our physical attacks didn't hurt that guy. C'mon. Don't be an idiot, man."
"Shut up." Bakugo stomped, "I'm gonna take him down 'cause he's their way in and out." A chameleon villain crawled towards the trio, camouflage working to his advantage as he blended in perfectly with their surroundings.
"If I cut off their escape route, they'll be stuck here and have to pay for what they've done." Bakugo explained, "We'll just have to figure it out."
The camouflage villain leapt forward, "Hope you had fun chit-chatting. Too bad you let your guard do-" He was cut off as Levy spoke, "Solid script: Drill!" Magic coated her hand as she drilled into her opponent's gut, knocking him unconscious.
"Anyways." Bakugo continued, "If all these villains are small fries like these guys were, then our classmates can handle 'em."
"Since when do you act so calm and rational?" Kirishima asked the explosive teen. "Usually you're all like, die! Die! DIE!"
"I'm always calm and rational you red-haired loser!" Bakugo angrily retorted in his usual manner.
"Yeah! There you are." Kirishima grinned at the annoyed teen.
"It was nice while it lasted." Levy laughed, not really bothered by his behavior.
"Go find the others if you want to." Bakugo shrugged as he began to walk away. Only for Kirishima to call out, "Wait, hold up!"
"I think what you're really saying is that you believe in our classmates. And that's thinkin' like a man, Bakugo." Kirishima knew the other boy could be a cranky jerk, but when they rushed in together he knew that he meant well, and having fought alongside him, he could respect him a bit more.
"I don't think you're really as bad as you lead us all to think." Levy commented, before turning her attention to the other zones.
Levy turned towards the open hole in the run-down building they were currently in. "You guys go on ahead, I'm gonna see if I can find anyone else." Levy announced as she began glowing with purple energy, "Dark Ecriture: Wings!" The purple wings formed, as she took flight, "Watch out for each other!" She called as she sped off into the distance.
Kirishima and Bakugo watched her as she gained distance, "That's a really cool Quirk." Kirishima laughed as they made their way to leave, with Bakugo finding himself silently agreeing.
. . .
Iida continued to run through the villain's mist until the distinct sound of Uraraka activating her Quirk could be heard.
His head turned slightly as he caught the sight of Uraraka's fingertips glowing pink as she gripped something in the mist. "I don't know what his Quirk is, but he's wearing some kinda weird armor." Uraraka grunted.
"So he must have a physical body inside here somewhere." The girl deduced, throwing the armor upwards and Kurogiri was forced to follow as if tethered to the object. "Now! RUN, IIDA!"
"You pest! How dare you!" The offended villain exclaimed, helplessly sent up into the air.
Iida finally made it to the door, grunting as he had to pry it open with his hands. Kurogiri saw his opening, "I got you!" He sped towards Iida as fast as he could.
"Not so fast!" Sero objected, shooting his tape forward, snagging the armor. He along with Mina played tug of war, as they tried to force the villain away from the door, and more importantly, Iida.
A new voice called from above them, "Guys give him to me!" Levy descended, grabbing onto the tape, "Class rep!" The class exclaimed in relief that she was okay.
Levy zoomed high up into the air once again with her wings Flying in a continuous circle gaining more and more speed, "Cease this at once!" Kurogiri growled as the bluenette glared.
"Fine!" She exclaimed, swinging her arms forward, "I'll stop!" She let go of the tape, flinging the villain ways away, "But you won't."
Tenya looked back at Levy, her purple wings reminding him of her speech during the emergency, and the girl returned his gaze with a warm and friendly one of her own despite the circumstances, "I know you'll come through for us Iida!"
Not wanting to let anyone down, Iida grunted one final time, finally wrenching the door open. Now outside, he slipped through and wasted no time in activating his Quirk further, "Engine Boost!" He sped off toward UA, hoping he wouldn't be too late…
The class swarmed Thirteen, the fallen pro being the most vulnerable of the group. "Oh no…" Levy gasped, kneeling down.
"Don't worry about me…" The teacher said faintly, "Top priority is the safety of you and your classmates."
Levy smiled softly, "Thank you, but even a hero needs help every now and then, let us help keep you safe." Levy bent down and seemingly began to write on the floor around them.
Her classmates were curious to see her using her Quirk up close, their eyes following each symbol Levy wrote. "I need you guys to cover me for a bit, I'm gonna make a protective space for us, only allies will be able to enter but it'll take a minute..." Levy tried her best to write as fast as she could, but once she finished she'd have to fly around and gather the rest of her classmates, she just hoped they were okay…
. . .
Lucy and Taurus both stood gasping for air, each covered in scratches. "No matter what we do, he just shrugs it off like it's nothing!" Lucy groaned, her space buns having long fallen loose, leaving her hair cascading over her shoulders.
"Your Quirk is nothing compared to Nomu." Shigaraki informed, "Call whoever else you want cheater, Nomu was constructed to be able to take a beating."
Lucy's eyes widened in realization, "You mean that-"
"That your attacks are useless on Nomu!" Shigaraki revealed to the wizard, who placed a hand over her mouth.
"Don't worry Lucy." Taurus' face was red, a seriously stern expression gracing his features, "I'LL SHOW THIS NOMUUUUUU WHO'S BOSS!" Jumping into the air and swinging his axe, a labrys, in a circular motion, the bull channeled his celestial magic and brought it down on Nomu, "RAMPAGE!"
Bringing his axe down, everyone in the area shielded their eyes as dust spread across the area. Lucy herself was surprised to see the power her spirit wielded, 'Could it be the extra ethernano in the air?'
When the dust settled, Nomu held Taurus by the neck, the Spirit struggling against his foe's strength. "Taurus!" Lucy cried for her Spirit, not wanting him to get hurt too badly.
Taurus' axe lay discarded on the floor, and a scratch Nomu had just seemed to be repairing itself like nothing.
The Nomu prepared to strike, its fist rearing back, it was ready to strike when it felt a pressure slowing him. Lucy clung to the Nomu's arm, "I won't let you just hit him that easily!"
The Nomu snarled at the girl, simply slamming her against the floor, Lucy continued to hold on despite her body taking a beating, slam, slam, slam. The Nomu slammed her a total of four times, and with a final swing, it sent her to the floor, flat on her face. "Urg…" Lucy groaned from the floor, blood slightly dripping from her temple.
The Nomu looked at Taurus with disinterest, hurling him at Aizawa with a force that crushed the teacher further. Lucy slowly raised herself with her arms, with Nomu chopping her back to the floor.
"Oh man, this isn't looking good…" Lucy coughed some blood onto the floor, her insides burning as she gazed at the colossal monster in front of her.
Surprise! Would you look at that, an update probably sooner than any of you were expecting. Before I began this chapter I thought that I would have enough room to finish up USJ, and then I kept typing and 7,000 words later, I realized that I would need another chapter.
Hmmmm, is there anything I need to say? Izuku didn't butcher himself, and he was ready to fight. This version of Lucy and Taurus could have probably put up a good fight if the Nomu didn't have a regeneration and shock absorption Quirk, if anything fighting at this stage would only tire her out.
Gotta start on the next chapter, you guys have no idea how much I just want to progress, alas I am my own worst enemy, alongside procrastination. Time to start on the next chapter before I start proofreading this to post!
Once again, I proofread this once, got excited, and decided to post. I didn't even proofread this note so it might seem jumbled. I'm just gonna keep typing cause I am on a ROLL.
