Fairy Heroes Academia 13

The Road To The Sports Festival

Amidst the small group's celebration, All Might had whisked Midoriya away, stating he wanted to have lunch with the young man. That left Iida, Lucy, Uraraka, and Levy to go get their lunches. When finally ready they all sat down and chatted.

"So what exactly is the Sports Festival?" Levy asked.

"Oh yeah, you guys wouldn't have too much knowledge on that huh?" Urakaka tilted her head.

"Basically, UA holds a big tournament where students can show off their Quirks to get recognition, which can also get you scouted." Uraraka explained to the pair.

"Yes, while that s true there is much more to it than that." Iida chopped his arm, "Students are separated by class year, and support, business, general studies, and hero course all compete against one another in a set of preliminary trials."

"And basically whoever passes these trials moves forward in the games?" Lucy tried to get clarification.

"I wouldn't refer to them as "games" necessarily…" Iida said, "But essentially, yes. The winners continue on until they make it to the final, where they compete to be the winner of the whole festival."

Uraraka tilted her head, "Why would you call them "games," Lucy?" She asked.

Lucy almost choked on her orange juice, "Oh uh- back home there was the uhhhh….."

"The Grand Quirk Games!" Levy quickly supplied.

"Yes, that! The name must've slipped my mind, hehe…" Lucy nervously rubbed the back of her head. "Darn amnesia."

"The Grand Quirk Games?" Iida asked, "I've never heard of such a thing."

"In our small village, competing schools would gather in an arena and participate in games, although no one was eliminated after the preliminaries, instead it was a point-based system." Levy explained to the intrigued pair.

"Oh wow! That does sound a lot like the Sports Festival!" Uraraka noted. "I'm surprised that we've never heard of it."

"Yeah, well…" Lucy said tapping her chin, "It was implemented fairly recently, and not only that but our village is even further behind on technology due to the Quirk War hitting particularly harder… So there's limited broadcasting technology."

"That's understandable." Iida commented, "Have you ever participated in these games?" He asked.

Levy shook her head, "I haven't." She tilted her head, "Lu here on the other hand..."

Lucy blushed, "It's true that I was in them, but I don't think I did very well…" Her face was slightly downcast at the memories. "It was one of the last things we did back home that we remember…"

"Yeah, besides Lu being kidnapped." Levy commented offhandedly sipping her tea, before realizing her mistake.

"You were kidnapped?!" Uraraka and Iida both exclaimed in quiet shock, so as to not let others around them hear.

"Did we really need to mention that Levy?" Lucy huffed.

"Sorry, it slipped out…" Levy rubbed the back of her head sheepishly.

"Why on Earth would you have been kidnapped?" Iida asked incredulously.

"Are you okay?" Uraraka asked the blonde girl.

Lucy nodded her head, "From what I remember, I had something they wanted. I was saved though, and everything was resolved in the end."

"It's a relief that you appear to be relatively okay." Iida chopped the air.

"That's so scary, though!" Uraraka said, clutching her chopsticks harder, "I can't imagine someone close to me being taken like that."

"It was terrifying, but I always had faith that my friends would come and get me." Lucy smiled, looking at her guild mark.

"I wanted to ask about your tattoo, actually." Uraraka said, leaning over to look at it better, "Did it hurt to get?"

Lucy shook her head with a giggle, "It was honestly painless, and the best decision I've ever made."

"You have one as well, don't you Levy?" Iida asked.

Levy nodded, "Mine is a lot less noticeable considering my clothes usually cover it, but it's there."

"I can't say I approve of young ladies getting tattoos while underage..." Iida muttered, "Nonetheless, as long as you got the proper permission and knew of the consequences of your actions."

Levy giggled at his seriousness, while Uraraka took the time to ask another question, "What's it supposed to be?"

"It's a fairy…" Lucy responded.

"...With a tail!" Levy finished.

Uraraka's eyebrows raised in curiosity, "I didn't know that fairies had tails…"

Lucy and Levy both laughed good-naturedly, "That's the point!"

"Do fairies have tails?" Levy asked.

"Do they even exist?" Lucy questioned.

"It's an eternal mystery!" Levy happily exclaimed.

"A never-ending adventure…" Lucy sighed happily.

Iida and Uraraka didn't miss how fondly the girls talked about their tattoos. They hadn't noticed them too much before, but once they had, well they had questions. You wouldn't think that girls as cute and innocent looking as them would ever even think of getting a tattoo.

"Are you two the only two that have them?" Iida asked, "I mean- if you remember that is."

The girls shook their heads, "A whole bunch of us got them." Levy replied.

"So it's like… a gang tattoo?" Iida gasped.

Lucy shook her head, "I wouldn't put it that way... Sure it's similar to an organization of people who do jobs together, but the main difference is our bonds."

"When you put it like that, I'm not hearing too much of a difference." Levy scratched her cheek, "Gangs can be close…"

Lucy threw a grape at her blue-haired friend, "Who's side are you on?"

"Gang or not, I would never give up this symbol willingly…" Lucy said, holding her hand up, "I'm gonna be a hero and make everyone back home proud. I'll show them what I'm made of and prove that I deserve to be a member-"

Lucy cut herself off short, realizing she was about to reveal too much. She just felt so passionate about Fairy Tail. She made some of her best memories there, and she knew that if they could see what she could do now, then they'd know that she was much more than just… Natsu's partner.

"Lu! Of course, you deserve to be a part of the gang!" Levy said, trying to cover up the Guild while Iida and Uraraka listened, "Anyone who is willing to be a good person and cares about their family will always have a place there… And besides, you have one of the biggest hearts I've ever seen."

"Thanks, Levy, it's just hard not to feel… useless sometimes." Lucy frowned, averting her gaze, "I've caused so many problems."

"And you've solved just as many, if not more." Levy countered, "Now stop that, I don't wanna hear you bad-mouthing my best friend." She playfully punched Lucy's shoulder.

"If it counts for anything Lucy, I think you're really strong!" Uraraka smiled, "And you basically have multiple Quirks! That makes you far from useless!"

"Not that you'd matter less if you had no Quirk." Iida nodded, "You truly do have a big heart, Lucy. I'd like to see what kind of hero you become."

Uraraka waved her hands in front of her nervously, "I hope you know that I meant that you just really know what you're doing with your Quirks and have a great handle on them!"

Lucy smiled gratefully at her group of friends and winked, "We're all useful, let's show 'em what we got in the Sports Festival!"

. . .

After lunch had ended, class 1A went to their next class, everyone eager for normalcy after the hectic past few days. The class went smoothly with nothing out of the ordinary, Yaoyorozu, Levy, and Iida constantly raised their hands in order to answer questions, much to some of their peers' relief.

Once class ended the students slid the door open to leave the classroom. They were stopped as a crowd of students were standing outside of the door.

"U-Um, why the heck are you all here?" Uraraka stumbled back, having been the one to open the door.

"Do you students have some sort of business with our class?" Iida enquired.

"Why are you blocking our doorway?" Mineta stepped forward, "I won't let you hold us hostage!"

"They're scouting out the competition, idiots." Bakugo said as he began to walk out, "We're the class that survived a real villain attack. They wanna see us with their own eyes."

Bakugo stood before the crowd of students, "At least now you know what a future pro looks like. Now move it, extras."

"You can't just call people that, Bakugo." Lucy chastised the explosive teen, not knowing why he had such an attitude.

"So this is Class 1A." A deep voice droned from the crowd, "I heard you guys were impressive, but you just sound like an ass." A teen with tired eyes and purple spiky hair made his way to the front.

"He has a point." Levy conceded, "You should be nicer to people!" She told Bakugo who just frowned at her.

"I don't need to be anything." Bakugo rolled his eyes, "They're the ones who came to antagonize us."

"How sad to come here and find a bunch of egomaniacs." The purple boy, Hitoshi Shinso, rubbed the back of his head disinterestedly.

Levy bowed, "I'm sorry about him, as Class Representative I take responsibility for his rude behavior." Levy said, causing Bakugo to grit his teeth.

"I'M NOT A CHILD!"

Shinso rolled his eyes, "I wanted to be in the hero course, but like many others here I was forced to choose a different track." The teen explained, "Such is life."

"I didn't cut it the first time around, but I have another chance." Shinso's purple eyes gazed evenly at the pair. If any of us do well in the Sports Festival, the teachers can decide to transfer us to the hero course."

"And they'll have to transfer people out to make room." Lucy responded, "Mr. Aizawa told us as much. It won't be that easy, you know?"

"Some of my peers may be here to scout the competition, but I'm here to let you know that, if you don't do your very best, I'll steal your spot right from under you." Shinso glared at the class, his threat laced within his words.

"Consider this a declaration of war."

Many of Class 1A looked on at the teen in shock. Here he was, a complete stranger, yet he had the audacity to come challenge them! They didn't mind a little competition, as long as it was friendly, but this kid meant business. Honestly, they didn't even know how to respond to this.

A gruff voice made itself known, "Hey, you!" A teen with chin-length, messy gray hair, and eyes lined with thick, jagged eyelashes spoke.

This young man, Testutesu Tetsutesu spoke with hardened enthusiasm, "I'm from class 1B next door to you! We heard you fought some villains, and I came to see if that was true! But you're just a bunch of brats who think you're better than us!" Testsutetsu exclaimed.

"Hold on there!" Lucy jumped in, "You're all making a lot of assumptions!" She cried, "We don't even have an opinion of you guys like that!"

"So we're not even good enough to spare a thought for!" Tetsutetsu said.

"That's not what I said at all!" Lucy pointed, "We just want to get along with everyone!"

"Keep talking all you want. It'll just be more embarrassing when you're KO'd." The gray-haired teen said.

"We're all gonna be on an even playing field. So you know what…" Lucy said, her grin becoming daring, "Bring it on!"

"Lu, are you sure that's a good idea?" Levy asked.

Lucy nodded her head, "Yeah, I want everyone to bring their A-game. If that means I have to accept this war, then so be it." Lucy turned to the crowd again.

Shinso shook his head, "If you think the playing field is even, then that just shows how ignorant your hero course is…"

Lucy crossed her arms, "That's big talk, prove it to me when we're out there competing. I'll be giving it my all, so if you all aren't… then well, I'll feel pretty insulted."

All of the classes really weren't expecting this kind of answer. Bakugo looked at the girl and rolled his eyes, "Don't waste your time blondie, these people don't matter."

"The only thing that'll matter is that I'll beat them."

And with that, Bakugo walked through the crowd and left the hallway. Lucy and Levy exchanged a look as they watched the teen stalk off. "He needs to chill out…" Levy said, shaking her head slightly.

"He does have a point…" Tokoyami relented as the crowd dispersed. "We will have to beat them."

"Yeah, sure, but this sucks! He made us everyone's enemies!" Kaminari complained as a few others, such as Todoroki exited the class as well.

"Yeah, that's right!" Mineta agreed. "All these dumb students will be gunning for us in the festival for now!"

"Mineta, they were always gonna be gunning for us…" Levy revealed.

Mineta shook her head, "What do you mean?!"

"Well, there's bound to be members of the student body who hold resentment over the fact that we qualified for the hero course, while they had to be pushed to general studies." Levy stated as the class nodded in understanding, "They also know that they have a chance to get into the hero course through the Sports Festival."

Mineta shrugged, "But that's not possible!" He waved her off, "They have to be bluffing about that."

"I don't think so, Mineta." Midoriya said, "They seemed serious to me."

"Even if you don't think it's serious, you should treat the matter as if it were!' Iida interjected.

Mineta stepped back, "Okay, okay! I'll take it seriously!"

"We're all going to have to take this seriously." Lucy slung her bag over her shoulder, "We need to all aim for the top."

. . .

Everyone had 2 weeks to prepare for the Sports Festival. The festival would be broadcast live on TV for countless people to view. It has been a proven fact from previous years that whoever impresses the audience has a much better chance at becoming a pro hero one day.

The students set out to prepare for the festival, although they didn't know what the games would entail until the first day. Lucy and Levy were vividly reminded of the Grand Magic Games, the familiarity striking them like lighting.

Lucy felt as if she had an upper hand, having actually participated in the games back in their world. She wished she could actually have her spirits with her, but she wasn't even allowed to take her keys with her. For once, she would actually be on her own…

Lucy's hair shifted as she channeled her power in a meditative position. With all the extra ethernano in the air, she felt so strong… But she was still too weak to beat her first real opponent in this world…

Nomu… That man- the monster. It made her shudder just to think about his face. She was honestly so relieved that she had Mr. Aizawa there with her, but it saddened her to see her new teacher be so thoroughly beaten… It was like being stuck between a rock and a hard place. Unable to do anything, but watch it all happen.

Her Spirits had even come to help her and it wasn't enough… She loved her Spirits and she wouldn't trade them for anything. In this new world though, she had to learn how to handle things without her Spirits at the ready. Her first step was to place high in the Sports Festival all on her own.

Lucy's attention was caught by Levy who was shuffling her feet as she read a book. "Whoa, that good a book, huh?" Lucy inquired.

Levy laughed and nodded, "It'll be really helpful for the Sports Festival if I can just get the hang of it."

"I'm sure you'll figure it out soon Levy." Lucy nodded to the girl, getting up from her bed on her side of the room.

"Hey Lu, why did you egg on the rest of the students like that?" Levy was curious about the girl's behavior, not expecting that from her blonde friend, "I thought you'd want everyone to get along."

Lucy's face reddened a tad as she rubbed the back of her neck, "I do want everyone to get along…" She said before thinking through her response, "But I also want a challenge. I guess I wanted everyone to target us so we'd be forced to give it our all."

"So it's a little extra encouragement?" Levy clarified, closing her book for the time being.

"Well yeah, basically." Lucy said, "They were already challenging us, and Bakugo didn't make anything easier, so I figured I'd just go along with it."

"Wow, getting a rise out of someone for a better fight…" Levy wiped a feaux tear away, "You really are a Fairy Tail wizard…"

"Don't be so dramatic!" Lucy threw a pillow at the shorter girl.

Bzzzt.

A buzz caught their attention, Levy reached over by her bed and unlocked her phone to check her messages. Opening up their 'Class Council' group chat, Levy had seen a new message from Yaoyorozu.

"Yaomomo's inviting us over to her place." Levy said after reading the message. "She says that she wants us to come over to train together." Levy turned her friend who pulled out her own phone.

"That sounds like fun!" Lucy cheered, "Looks like Iida said he's going."

"Midoriya too." Levy read her phone, "Well, let's type a response and get going."

. . .

Lucy and Levy brought their bags closer to them as they walked down the street. The surrounding area had been fenced off, with only lamposts lining the sidewalks. Finally approaching a grand gate they walked up to the boys already waiting.

They had both been wearing workout clothes, with Midoriya wearing a plain t-shirt that had said "Dress Shirt" in kanji, and some blue shorts. Iida meanwhile wore black spandex shorts, with a yellow cycling shirt.

"Hello, Lucy! Hello, Levy!" Iida bowed at the girls as they walked up.

Midoriya who had been busy gaping at the house, tore his gaze away and bowed as well, "Hey! I see you both made it safely."

"Hey guys!" Lucy said as she reached the pair.

Levy meanwhile, looked at the house with wide eyes, "Forget "house", this is a castle!" The girl noted as she looked down the street to the still fenced-off area.

"I know!" Midoriya agreed, "I've never seen a house this big before!"

Iida, coming from a well-off family himself, was not phased heavily by the house but did know it was considered bigger than what has been deemed normal by society. Lucy was similar, growing up in the Heartfilia estate had her used to mansions and high society, but having been humbled by running away she too knew that this was a huge house.

Iida pressed on the buzzer and spoke, "Hello! We are classmates of Momo Yaoyorozu!"

"You guys made it! I'll let you in!" Yaoyorozu's voice called from the buzzer's intercom.

Crrrreaaaaaak.

The gates opened allowing for the quartet of wannabe heroes to enter the family's estate. Reaching the door, Yaoyorozu swung it open, eagerly inviting everyone in.

Levy and Midoriya could barely contain themselves as they looked around the heavily ornate and well-decorated home. Various vases and other antiques are prominently displayed throughout the house, with paintings decorating the walls alongside family photographs.

Lucy in particular studied the photographs and couldn't help but smile as she looked at the happy family, she felt relieved that she didn't see signs of the same loneliness that had plagued her when her mother died.

"I'm so glad you could all make it! I know it was last minute…" Yaomomo fiddled with her ponytail, "I was going to invite more of the class but figured this would be a nice trial session with our class council."

A couple of servants came out and took the teen's belongings to set them aside securely, Lucy gave the servants a warm smile and thanked them, catching a few off guard from the gratification of a simple task.

"So I just wanted to iron out the details with our positions, before we begin training." Yaomomo informed, "Of course, we know Levy is Class rep, with Lucy being Vice President."

Levy and Lucy nodded. "We'll be overseeing most of the responsibilities, handling any paperwork and well, just anything else we need to take care of." Levy explained as they all gathered to be seated.

"And then we have our Secretary." Yaomomo nodded to Iida.

"As Secretary Iida will be in charge of taking notes of our meetings, and keeping track of various scheduled items we may have." Lucy informed, "He's asked us for a few more responsibilities too, which we don't mind delegating for him."

"Of course, we're all here to support each other!' Iida's arms robotically chopped, "It is simply the least I could do after you decided to include me."

"We were happy to Iida!" Levy laughed, "You're a bright young man and we'd feel bad if you weren't part of the team."

"And then we have our Historian, Midoriya." Yaomomo continued to the teen who blushed at the attention.

"I have to admit, I was surprised you guys chose me…" The green teen said, "I'd think there's tons of people in our class who'd be fit for the job."

"Now now, we chose you for a reason Midoriya." Lucy wagged her finger at him, "I saw you in our exam and you definitely have a big heart."

"Yeah, not only that but you're always watching Heroes and have tons of notes on them!" Levy enthusiastically added, "Who better to capture "Future Heroes" on camera but you!"

"We figured that you would be analyzing the class anyway, so we might as well use it to our advantage." Lucy elbowed the teen.

Midoriya was fully red now, shaking his head and calming his flustered nerves, "I won't let you all down!" He smiled at the group who all returned his smile.

"And I already know that you chose me as Treasurer…" Yaomomo blushed lightly as well, "Which I still appreciate…"

Lucy grinned, "And add in the fact that you're family is doing well financially, you should be able to ask them for pointers in our class funds!"

Yaomomo smiled, "I'd be happy to! I always enjoy learning more about my family's business, which will be great information if I wanted to manage my own agency when I go pro."

"I'd also like for you to delegate me more tasks if it's not too much trouble." Yaoyorozu added, "Just like Iida, I would like to help more."

"Me too!" Midoriya chimed in.

Lucy and Levy exchanged a laugh and nodded, "Of course, we're all here to support each other!"

"We actually were wondering if we could call you all by your first names." Levy leaned forward, "We'll likely be working with each other often and we'd like to be familiar with you all."

The three looked thoughtful for a moment before nodding.

"I don't mind!" Izuku smiled, though on the inside he was freaking out, 'I can't believe this is happening so soon! I barely started at UA not too long ago and I'm already making friends! With girls no less!'

"I see no problem with it." Momo nodded.

"I have no objections!" Tenya chopped the air, "I'm still glad to be involved in this group!"

"Me too! I've never really had friends like this before…" Izuku revealed, tilting his head to the side. "My Quirk developed late and people didn't really associate with me."

Levy gasped, "Just because you didn't have a Quirk?"

"That's awful, Izuku…" Lucy shook her head, "I'm sorry that happened."

"I've heard of Quirkless people being picked on, but I was hoping that they were just exaggerations…" Momo sighed, "It's unfortunate you suffered through that, Izuku."

"I appreciate your concern, but I don't let it get to me." Midoriya smiled, "I got a Quirk and I'm able to be a hero… That's a lot more than I ever expected to happen…"

The other teens watched as Izuku practically glowed with happiness and silently vowed to support the freckled teen in any way that they could.

"Well now that we got that out of the way, shall we get to preparing for the Sports Festival?" Yaomomo suggested, leading the group through her house.

. . .

Yaoyorozu swung the staff she created, aiming to sweep Levy's legs. Levy, however, jumped over the metal rod and kicked the girl's staff away. Yaoyorozu grunted as her body gleamed for a second before Levy punched her square in the gut, breaking the black-haired girl's focus.

"Urgh!" Momo spat.

Levy kicked the other girl away, leaving Yaomomo to roll across the floor. Gasping for air, she stood up and wiped her mouth. Luckily, she landed by her previously created staff and picked it up. Creating a baseball quickly, she swung and hit it toward Levy, nailing her in the leg.

Levy clutched at the injury, not expecting it to sting that badly. Momo used that moment to rush in with the staff once again, she brought it up for an overhead strike…

"Solid Script: Shield!"

CLANG!

The staff pressed against the shield as Momo tried to force Levy to submit. Yaomomo stood firm, not wanting to back down from this, but she noticed Levy's foot shuffling a bit, Levy whispered something under her breath.

"Eek!" Yaomomo suddenly felt her body fall through the floor, leaving only her upper body exposed. Levy breathed a sigh of relief as Yaoyorozu was unable to easily free herself.

"How were you able to do that?" Yaoyorozu asked, "I thought you needed your arms in order to use your Quirk."

Levy laughed as she pulled Yaoyorozu out of the 'O' of the 'HOLE' she made. "I did. When I fought against Todoroki and I was left helpless when he froze my arms, I've been working on learning how to write using other means."

Momo's eyes widened, recalling Levy's feet, "You were using your legs, of course!" She smacked her forehead, now free from the trap. "I wasn't expecting you to be able to do that."

"It will definitely come in handy in the future." Levy smirked, "It's not the only trick I have up my sleeve though. But that's a secret she winked."

"Do you have any advice on what I should work on?" Momo curiously asked.

Levy tapped her head, "You know how to use your Quirk and you're a quick thinker, but when someone rushes you, it overwhelms you and it makes it harder to focus." Levy explained.

Momo nodded in understanding, "You have a point, I had been planning to restrict your arms and had been so focused on achieving my goal that it didn't occur to me you'd cover your weaknesses that thoroughly."

"Trust me, you didn't make it any easier for me." Levy rubbed the back of her head, "You're a tough one Momo, keep training and believe in yourself and you'll be a pro in no time."

Momo blushed at her fellow bookworm's praise, knowing she had meant what she said before she could respond though the others caught their attention.

Since they didn't have Recovery Girl to rely on at the moment they had to be careful with their sparring and how they used their Quirks. It had been easier for Momo and Levy to spar using their Quirks since they could counter each other.

Lucy, Izuku, and Tenya were all locked in their own spar though. Izuku's body radiated lightning as his speed was increased by One For All. Lucy's speed was enhanced with her Cancer Star Dress. And Tenya's speed had already been well developed for obvious reasons.

Izuku aimed a punch at Lucy, deactivating his Quirk at the last second so it wouldn't do too much damage. He had been practicing willing his power when he needed it, so he could access it more readily when need be. Lucy dodged the punch, flipping away to avoid any potential follow-up.

Tenya had rushed behind her and swept the girl's legs, causing her to come crashing down. Twisting her body, she aimed a kick at the boy who caught it and tossed her aside. Izuku had used their interaction to close the distance punching at Tenya, sending the boy skidding back.

Lucy, from a crouched position, jumped with her arm extended successfully tripping Tenya. She then leaped from her position to deliver a Lucy kick straight toward Izuku, he activated his Quirk and pushed his arms forward to block the attack with his hands. Lucy flipped off his hands ready to strike with a punch, only for Tenya's leg to connect with her back, sending her into Izuku and straight to the floor.

"Always be aware of your surroundings! You never know when a foe may strike!" Tenya advised as the two recovered from the floor. "My family has taught me that lesson from a young age."

Levy and Momo walked up to the group with some fresh water bottles in hand handing some to the trio. "You three were all moving so fast!" Levy commented, "Any more fast and I would've had trouble fully keeping up with my eyes."

Momo nodded, "If you had displayed this sort of skill during Mr. Aizawa's test then you would've scored much higher, Izuku."

'She's right if I had just learned to spread it out earlier I would have been able to train it better and I wouldn't have been so scared of being expelled…' Izuku clenched his fist in determination, before giving a pleased smile, "I'm still figuring it out, but at least I'm not breaking my body anymore! And with my Quirk activated I feel so much stronger and faster, I'll make up for the test by doing well in the Sports Festival!"

"As our class's student council, it's only natural that we represent!" Lucy giggled, "We should all support each other and aim for the top!"

Levy agreed, "I'll honestly be surprised if anyone in our class doesn't make it past the first round.

"Well, we are the Hero course for UA, it's only natural for us our class to excel in this field." Tenya chopped in, "Otherwise the other students wouldn't be targeting us."

"Each of us is aiming for the top as individuals as well." Momo chimed in, "So we'll have our own classmates to worry about."

Midoriya could imagine it, "Most of us do want to aim to be the best, I couldn't see anyone in the class getting aggressive or overly competitive except for…"

"Bakugo?" Levy quirked her eyebrow, "It's pretty obvious he doesn't like to lose."

"And I hate to admit it, but he has the brain and power to back his claims up." Lucy rolled her eyes, "I don't understand what makes him act like that, he could at least try to be a decent human."

"Well Kacchan has always been smart, so he was praised for that." Izuku said.

"But that could be applied to most of us here, couldn't it?" Momo said, receiving nods from the others, everyone in this group could be classified with above-average intelligence, but it didn't have them acting out.

"That's true, but when his Quirk manifested it only got worse…" Izuku said, "Everyone would praise him and his Quirk, and it's not as if he doesn't work hard. He wants to be a hero, I can tell that much as clear as day… It inspires me honestly, I want to catch up to him no matter how long it takes."

The others were shocked to hear the boy's words on their fellow classmate, knowing he was one of the boy's main targets when annoyed, although he mostly treated everyone roughly the same.

"I remember being in the same group of friends playing under Kacchan's "Agency". Before he got his Quirk." He smiled fondly remembering a younger Katsuki marching ahead of them all, "It just felt like he was made to be a hero, you know?"

The others thought of a Chibi Bakugo running around screaming shooting blasts from his hands, having mostly only seen his more negative traits.

"Now that's a Bakugo I'd like to meet!" Lucy joked with the others taking a sip from her water.

"If you don't mind me asking, what happened between you two?" Tenya asked, "You speak as if you two were close and even call him Kacchan."

Midoriya's smile faded, "I don't know to be fully honest, it could've been a number of things… it could've been because I was Quirkless, or…" Izuku trailed off, thinking about anything he could've done to make him angry.

"Or what, Izuku?" Levy gently shook him out of his thoughts.

Izuku tapped his chin, "I don't know really, but… one time when we were playing with our friends Bakugo fell into a river, he was okay, but I remember being so scared and worried. I rushed down there and held out a hand to help him up, and the way he looked at me… He didn't seem angry at first, just confused…"

Izuku had a faraway look in his eye for a moment, "After that, it was just never the same…"

Lucy wiped a tear from her eye something in the story getting to her, "That's so sad Izuku…"

Izuku waved his hands frantically not realizing he got so deep into it, "Oh it's fine! That happened years ago! It should be in the past!"

"Even if it happened years ago that doesn't mean you can't feel upset about it." Levy said to the freckled boy.

Izuku nodded his head, "I know, and I was upset for a long time, a really long time… But now, I just want to show the world and myself exactly what I can do!"

"I'll drink to that!" Levy laughed holding up her water bottle, "Let's all show ourselves what we can do!"

The rest of them raised their water bottles too with a cheer, "Plus Ultra!"

. . .

Each student in 1A had been using the school's facilities to further their training, knowing that they had to push themselves to their limits if they wanted to be recognized by the real world.

Tsuyu was using the gym's indoor pool in order to hone her aquatic abilities for her frog Quirk. Having placed toy fishies in the water, she dove and swam for them giving herself a time limit in which she had to collect all the wind-up fish as they swam around.

Shoji was using the weights, benching well over 150lbs with his six arms, grunts escaping him from behind his face mask as he honed his muscles. His biceps bulged as the sweat dripped from his body, his breaths even as he maintained focus.

In the Replica City District, more students could be seen training hard as well. Ojiro jumped from rooftop to rooftop, his legs, distance, and jumping ability all being worked on at this moment. Sero had taken to practicing using his tape to travel long distances, swinging around like some sort of Spider-like man…

Levy could be seen high in the air practicing her flying skills, shooting off spells all over the place, many of her peers looked at her in amazement, working harder to ensure they could go toe-to-toe with their class rep.

Ochaco was using her Quirk on fallen debris, lifting it high into the air and releasing it. By her side Mina was using this to her own advantage, her acidic Quirk using the falling debris as target practice, sending the sludge directly in the middle slicing the concrete. Aoyama nearby had used his navel laser to destroy the remaining debris accurately, impressing the two girls.

Koji sat on the ground, animals surrounding the boy as he had peacefully sat down communicating with the various creatures around him. Unfortunately for him, many of them had flittered away once they heard the sound of a nearby pumped-up scream. Kirishima had thrown himself off a rather tall building, crossing his arms as he descended and activated his Quirk right before crashing into the floor with a bang, shaking the nearby terrain, and scaring the rest of the animals away. Kirishima rose up with a triumphant yell unscathed.

Deep within the trees of the nearby woods, explosions could be seen from afar as Bakugo worked on expanding his range and power. Sweat poured from his face as he panted, a satisfied grin on his face as he progressed in the direction he wanted. Even Kaminari was working on his electric Quirk, expanding it throughout a wide open area, sadly it was still frying his brain.

Lucy found a secluded part of the woods and summoned Loke and Capricorn to help with her training, the two fought their Master with ferocity, correcting her movements and guiding her with care. Capricorn smiled at the young lady, knowing Layla would be so proud of her daughter. He too was furious at the events that transpired at USJ, he would have summoned himself if Taurus hadn't beat him to the punch. He knew the importance of maintaining cover, so he had convinced everyone to stay behind. Even the temperamental Aquarius looked ready to strangle someone for Lucy's sake, not that she would ever admit it…

Tokoyami sat in a dark room, the darkness providing power to his Quirk Dark Shadow, making it difficult to control. He then added to the pressure by turning on bright lights which would also decrease Dark Shadow's power, but would also get him acclimated to brighter conditions on the battlefield.

Jiro was at home, surrounded by her many instruments and using her extended earlobes to shoot darts precisely at a dart board. Mineta likewise was at home practicing his acceptance speech for when he won. Yaomomo was reading idly through her books educating herself on many different components that she could make useful. This also left Todoroki at home, sweating as he punched the air, working out until nightfall.

For some like Momo, Uraraka, and Tenya, this was a matter of upholding family values and proving they had what it takes. For some like Kaminari and Mineta, this was a chance to propel them into stardom and get their foot in the door. But for others, like Bakugo, Lucy, Levy, Izuku, and even Aoyama this was a chance to show this world that they were here and willing to make their mark.

Whatever their reason, or reasons plural, each student at UA wanted to give it their all. Class 1A may have been the ones that had their potential recognized, but that only made the rest of the first years even more determined to train and prove that they were not just second fiddle. They each had their talents and abilities that they wanted to showcase.

. . .

It had felt like the two weeks were up in a flash because of how hard everyone was working, and before they knew it the Sports Festival was on it's way.

'Dear Mom,

I'm sorry I haven't written in so long… Things have been pretty crazy recently, I don't even know where to start. One of my best friends and I were transported to a whole other world full of amazing people who don't even have magic! It's incredible, I would've never expected a thing was possible if I hadn't been to Edolas, but even they had used magic. A kind woman took us in, we've been calling her granny, and she has the warmth of one too. I bet you two would've gotten along well… Not long after that we were enrolled in a hero course and the class we ended up in is full of so many different types of people each one being so interesting. Even the teachers have their own things going, being pro superheroes and all. But… things haven't all been okay to be honest. We were attacked recently, everyone made it out fine, but one of our teachers got badly hurt protecting me. At first he was kinda scary, but now I know his true colors and he's a real hero. They all remind me so much of Fairy Tail, I miss them with all my heart… Natsu, Happy, Erza, Gray, Mira, Cana, everyone… I try to put on a brave face for mine and Levy's sake, but sometimes it's just hard… They're always with us, no matter where we go and my guild mark is a reminder of that, and I'll cherish and care for it forever. I know I have to make the best out of this new world, and I'm finding my happiness, I'll always be thankful for you teaching me my magic, mom. I need it now more than ever. Especially to participate in the Sports Festival, I'll tell you all about it in my next letter. I just hope nothing bad happens any time soon… I love you, Mom.

Love, Lucy'

Lucy sealed the letter, setting it aside in a special drawer in her desk, and looking to Levy, "Are you ready to go?"

Levy smiled grabbing her bag after putting on her gale-force reading glasses, eager to get some reading done on the way, pulling out her book of runes. "All set, let's get going, Lu."

. . .

2 Weeks Earlier…

Minerva's heel tapped as she eyed the man in front of her. "Well? Get to it, I know you can dispel these runes."

The man nodded, still having been taken aback by Minerva's new style. He never would've expected the powerful woman to become so much… more. It was unbelievable to him, even with everything that he had known.

"But… why?" A bound woman had asked, her body trembling, "Why are you doing this?"

Minerva tsked, "Why? They're my ticket to getting revenge on those pathetic fairies." She crossed her way over to the woman, a single clawed finger trailing the woman's face, "If you hadn't tried to get in the way I wouldn't have had to bring you…"

Tears pooled in the woman's eyes, her fear getting the best of her. "Plea-"

"Hurry up! I've waited long enough." Minerva ordered the man, who was kneeling over Shigaraki and Kurogiri still seemingly bound.

The man tensed, "I'm doing my best, it takes some time."

"Make it take less time." She growled.

"Yes ma'am."

Minerva getting tired of the woman gagged her with a strip of the woman's own clothing. "I don't want to hear another word out of you…" She looked over the woman, "I know exactly what I'm going to do with you…" She evilly purred, sending the woman away, "She'll be perfect for breaking those fairies."

The man wanted to turn around, he wanted to use his magic to stop her… But he couldn't, she was too strong, she had always been strong. Hurriedly scribbling, he rewrote the runes, whoever had done them had been good, but no expert yet, these were done too hastily…

"Don't you worry about her one bit, or yourself…" Minerva said, sitting at the bar's counter taking a sip from a glass of wine, "I'm so confident in my plan that I'm feeling generous, I'll send you back home once you're finished…"

The man felt a weight lift from his shoulders, but he couldn't help but worry about his guildmate… "I'm keeping her though." The man almost froze out of fear, had he not had the looming threat hangning over his shoulder he's sure he would've paused briefly.

"B-But, why?" He asked, surprising even himself.

"She's going to be of use to me soon, she just doesn't know it yet." Minerva laughed, an elegant laugh that sent shivers down even Kurogiri's spine.

The villainous duo suddenly felt themselves free from their restraints, stretching their sore bodies out, ready to curse out the girls who had done this to them…

"Alright, you are now allowed to leave, but first…" Minerva stood up taking the man's chin between her fingers, the man now actually froze, confused.

"What are you do-"

Blood sprayed everywhere as Minerva ripped out the man's tongue, he screamed in agony, but it was incoherent as he gagged on his own blood.

"AUUGUGUGGHHHGHHHHH!"

"Now you won't go blabbing about anything that's happened." Minerva said satisfied, snapping her fingers and sending him off, leaving the villains in silence.

"Great, now I'll have to clean the floor…" Kurogiri muttered, "Thank you for the assistance, miss."

"You can call me Minerva, Lady Minerva." She extended her bloodied hand, which the man took.

"Yes, Lady Minerva."

"It's about time!" Shigaraki said, stretching his arms out, "Now we can get down the the real business." He said, picking up the man's discarded tongue and disintegrating it. "Those cheaters better watch out now…"

"Those fairies will definitely get what's coming to them, if it's the last thing I do." Minerva told the boy who nodded in agreement, the trio now getting ready to begin preparations for their new plans.

Hellllllllllllloooooooo! Hi! So this is like basically a filler chapter let's be honest. I'm sorry about the gap between updating, I got sick back to back and then had to deal with real life, bleeeeeh… It's given me time to plan out more aspects though and next chapter we'll finally get to the nitty gritty of things, the Sports Festival!

Originally this was supposed to come out way sooner so it wouldn't have been that bad of a wait, but then reality punched me in the face. Also I somehow dragged this one to get to my usual word count but I think everything that we've explored today should come in handy in the future.

So I am honestly soooooo excited to write about the Sports Festival, this was one of the things i had been planning out in my head before I had even begun writing the story.

OOOOohhh, the man and woman, who are they? Who could they be? I mean you guys are good at guessing so I wouldn't be surprised if you guy's know, I'm so excited to see your guesses. Also that tongue thing happened in the heat of the moment, and like, yeah I'm rolling with it, he'll be fine but homeboy can't speak anymore.

Guys I am evilly rubbing my hands together, like you have no idea how pumped I am for this story's progression, I can't believe how much I am setting up right now, right now i am sipping my tea, wearing my monocle, like call me Saiko Intelli.

Haha in all seriousness, I'm glad to be able to write this story again and it's all gonna be so great. It always astounds me that we're literally just dipping our toes into the series cause I have so much planned out for the long run!

Leave a review and tell me what you thought! Thank you all for reading!
