Throughout all of this, a certain raven was deep in thoughts about his fellow male genin. To find out that he was an orphan just like him and that his early childhood was as dark as Kakashi made it out to be. He wondered how the dual-haired teen got so strong and how he could get him to become stronger.

'I'll find out your secret, Katsuro.'

*Two Days Later*

As Kakashi steadily recovered, the genin were given the task to protect Tazuna as the man and his worker continued construction of the bridge. While the three rotated on the two who would stay by Tazuna's side and the other watching over Tazuna's family, they saw how slowly, Tazuna was losing workers one after the other. Some men lost their will to keep building the bridge either because they thought it was pointless or because they were threatened by Gato's men to cease working or their families would be collateral. Tazuna tried, in vain, to keep those men from leaving but he understood the depression that permeated the air and let the men go without a fight. Katsuro offered to help pick up the slack by making a good 20 shadow clones to help keep and speed up the construction of the bridge. The old man was grateful and assigned the clones to different jobs that would be overseen by the other workers. That seemed to give the leftover men a boost in confidence that a kid not even born of their village would go out of his way to help them so much. Seeing the cloaked male working so far was inspiring.

Soon, Kakashi was finally able to walk with some crutches that Tsunami lent him. He told his team that they would be working on their elemental chakra. Team Seven went out into the forest beyond the bridge builder's home so as to not accidentally damage their client's home in case something went wrong.

When they got further in, Kakashi pulled out slips of plain looking paper and explained that these papers would help them determine the natural element their chakra has an affinity for. Based on what it revealed, the jonin has scrolls with exercises that will help them harness their element.

They each took a slip from him and channeled their chakra into the paper.

Sakura's crumbled.

Sasuke's crinkled, then burned to ash.

Katsuro's split in half with one half becoming soggy and the other turning completely black.

Everyone stared at Katruro's paper.

"Kakashi-sensei? Why did Katsuro's split and one half turn black. What does that mean?" The ever inquisitive pinkette voiced all their thoughts.

"I…don't know, Sakura. That's the first time I've ever seen that happen. Katsuro?" He looked up at the teen. Katsuro looked back at him before shaking his head.

"I don't have a clue why it did that. It's a mystery to me, too." He voiced. Sasuke was giving him an intense look.

"You're lying. You know exactly why that happened to your slip. It's probably connected to those portals you make. Isn't it?" He asked confidently. Katsuro and Sasuke had a small stare down.

"So what if it was? It's not like it's of any importance to you." The blue-eyed male countered. Sasuke took a step toward him.

"If you can do those portal things, then you could also teach some else how to do-"

"I'm going to stop you right there, Sasuke. That is something I can't teach anyone. That "portal" isn't just some teleportation technique that could be taught. It's only passed down through my blood. You could think of it as a Kekkei Genkai. In that regard, I can't teach it to anyone outside of my potential family." He calmly explained. Sasuke pursed his lips and turned away. He was hoping that he could be taught that technique to aid in his quest for power.

Kakashi had a small blush under his mask when Katstro mentioned family. He and Iruka were informed that the jinchuuriki can impregnate males and have a natural family instead of adoption (not that Katsuro would be against adoption seeing as he's technically an orphan and knows the longing of wanting a family to call his own). He was imagining how he would look swollen with Katsuro's child and had to hide a giggle behind a cough.

"Alright now. Let me tell you what your affinities are and you all can get to harnessing and strengthening any jutsu that compliments you. Sakura: your paper crumbled to dust. That means you have a natural affinity for Doton. Here's some exercises I've listed here to help you. Go find a spot to practice." He hands the female a scroll and off she goes.

"Sasuke: your paper crinkled before turning to ash. That means you have a primary affinity for Raiton with a secondary for Katon. This is surprising as most of your clansmen were known more for their proficiency in Katon. I know you already have a few fire jutsu under your belt so I want you to focus on your primary affinity. Here's a scroll on lightning exercises. Find a spot and get to it." He handed the disgruntled raven a scroll and watched as he stalked off. Kakashi turned to his young lover. "And finally, Katsuro: you have a primary affinity for Fūton with a secondary affinity for Suiton. You are actually one of the smallest number of people in our village that has Fūton as a natural affinity. I'm sure Asuma could show you some jutsu when we get back. But in the meantime, work on harnessing and utilizing your wind chakra." He gave the last member of his team a scroll and a quick kiss before Katsuro set off.

Kakashi turned around and was startled to see Katsuro right behind him.

"I'm just a clone, Kashi, but I could see you were starting to lose strength in your legs the whole time we were here. Come here. I'll carry you back to the house." The apparent clone said as he came closer to the jonin. Kakashi sighed as he let himself be picked up and carried in his mate's arms while a shadow vine snagged his crutches.

"Nothing gets past you, does it, Katsu?" The man leaned his head against his shoulder. He could feel almost painful tingling in his legs and was relieved he wouldn't have to hobble his way all the way back.

"You'd have to try a lot harder than that to get past me. When we get back, I'll give you a nice leg massage and you can boss me around until I get dispelled. How does that sound?" Kakashi chuckled and kissed his cheek.

"Hmm. I think that sounds wonderful. I want cuddles and snacks after the massage. Maybe a little heavy petting mixed in, too. And looooots of kisses. Can't forget that." The jonin listed as they continued through the trees.

"My my, Kashi. You sound needy." Kakashi could hear the grin in his voice.

"Maybe I am. I'm still recovering and you've put me strictly on 'no sex' until we get back to Konoha after the day I woke up. I gotta get my dosage of Katsuro somehow." Said male laughed.

"You missed something."

"What do you mean?"

"Kakashi." Eyebrow raise.

"Fine! 'No touching below the belt'. There." Pout.

"Good boy."

"I hate you."

"I love you, too."
