"𝑫𝒖𝒅𝒆, 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒔𝒂? I didn't realize you were into snake ladies." Dean's voice broke the silence of the room they were in. Maeve's head snapping in their direction as Sam's eyes widened and he slammed his laptop closed. "It's nothing. Just a little research." Dean frowned at his brother's reaction, his eyes also scanning over to Maeve who was now glaring at Sam. "Alright, chill. I was just kidding, no need to get your knickers in a wade. We're about to head out, I'm almost finished loading the car. Meet y'all outside." Maeve and Sam nodded at Dean who turned, making his way out the door with a frown. Neither said anything until they were sure they were alone, "What the hell, Sam?" Maeve hissed towards him with a frown, "I'm sorry, I just wanted to learn a little more; that's all. It's not everyday, you're in the presence of a Greek myth." She scoffed and let out a small sigh, "Sam, you know if you have any questions, I'll answer them." He nods in return, his eyes wide with curiosity.

"I know, but I want to see what matches up too. Like, I know you said you have multiple powers such as breathing under water, and that the runes on your body close them off, but none of that is in your mythology. I just find it fascinating." She couldn't help, but laugh and scoff at the same time. "Great, now I'm a science project for you." She murmured out with a shake of her head. Grabbing her bag, she turns to face the younger Winchester, "Just try not to let Dean find out, yet. I want him to get to know me a little more before finding out, just so I have a little bit of a head start before he shoots me." She smiles sarcastically at the man, "He won't shoot you." Sam calls out to her as she slams the door in his face, he sighs grabbing his laptop and bag before following them out to hit the road again.

They wait for Sam who is on a payphone, "Why? I share my treats with you." She smirks towards him as he lets out a laugh, "Sweetheart, your treats and mine are two different things." He leans closer to her with a cocky look on his face, his green eyes shining in the daylight. Sam hangs up and walks back to the table, where Dean turns back to working on the laptop. Maeve continues to watch him with a glint in her eyes as she licks her lips and steals another fry. He shoots her a look over the computer screen, "Your, uh, half-caf, double vanilla latte is gettin' cold over here, Francis." Dean speaks up as Sam sits down, "Bite me."

"So, anything?" Sam shakes his head, "I had 'em check the FBI's Missing Persons Data Bank. No John Doe's fitting Dad's description. I even ran his plates for traffic violations." Sam explained, Maeve looking over Dean's shoulder to check out what he's looking up. "Sam, I'm tellin' ya, I don't think Dad wants to be found." Sam looks disappointed, "Check this out." He shows Sam an article on the computer about Rich's death. "It's a news item out of Planes Courier. Ankeny, Iowa. It's only about a hundred miles from here." Sam moves the laptop closer to his body and starts reading out loud for the pair. "'The mutilated body was found near the victim's car, parked on 9 Mile Road.'" Dean nods along with Sam, "Keep reading." He demands with a pointed look.

"'Authorities are unable to provide a realistic description of the killer. The sole eyewitness, whose name has been withheld, is quoted as saying the attacker was invisible.'" Sam reads out more, "Could be something interesting." Maeve speaks up with a shrug and raising an eyebrow towards the boys. Dean nods in agreement as Sam sighs, "Or it could be nothing at all. One freaked out witness who didn't see anything? Doesn't mean it's the Invisible Man." Sam snipped in annoyance, he really wanted to find his father as soon as he could. "But what if it is? Dad would check it out." Dean insisted as they started gathering their things and make their way towards the car.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 π’•π’“π’Šπ’ 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒑𝒔 at the fraternity where Rich lived, the other frat brothers look towards the car in confusion. They make eye contact with one another before getting out of the car. Maeve shifts slightly at the amount of eyes that immediately turn on her, Dean shooting glares towards the frat boys who started making eyes at his woman. "One more time, why are we here?" Sam asked with a sigh, "Victim lived here." They walk up to some guys fixing a car. "Nice wheels." They look at him strangely, their eyes moving between Dean and Maeve. "We're your fraternity brothers. From Ohio. We're new in town. Transfers. Looking for a place to stay." He grins.

They end up inside the fraternity house, standing in front of a shirtless frat boy in yellow shorts is painting his face and body purple. "Who are you?" One of the guys asked, his eyes scanning her body up and down. "We're your new roommates, and this is my girlfriend." Dean smiles and walks over to the boy who holds the brush and paint can out to Dean. "Do me a favor? Get my back. Big game today." Maeve smirks slightly when Dean points to Sam, "He's the artist. Things he can do with a brush." Sam, mortified, takes the brush and can. Dean sits on a chair, pulling Maeve down on his lap and picks up a magazine, "So." They look at the name on the magazine. "Murph. Is it true?" Maeve starts off, her hands moving to run through Dean's hair.

"What?" Murph asks with a confused look, "We heard one of the guys around here got killed last week." Dean raised an eyebrow at the frat boys, Murph sighs sadly. "Yeah." He breathed out, "What happened?" Sam asked, his eyes giving a pointed glare towards Dean and Maeve who smirked at him. "They're saying some psycho with a knife. Maybe a drifter passing through. Rich was a good guy." The boy responds with a sad look on his face. "Rich. He was with somebody?" Sam questioned, "Not just somebody. Lori Sorensen." One of the other guys responded, "Who's Lori Sorensen?" Dean asks before he turns to Sam with a teasing look. "You missed a spot. Just down there...on the back." Sam looks annoyed, Dean grins while Maeve rolls her eyes with a small laugh. Morons. "Lori's a freshman. She's a local. Super hot. And get this: she's a reverend's daughter."

"You wouldn't happen to know which church, would ya?"

The trio enter the church together, the door slamming behind them. The congregation goes silent and turns to look at them, Maeve gives a awkward wave. "As a community, and as a family. The loss of a young person is particularly tragic. A life unlived is the saddest of passings." They move to sit down, a girl in the front stares at Sam, he smiles weakly at her. "So, please, let us pray. For peace, for guidance, and for the power to protect our children." Everyone bows their head in prayer, except Dean. Sam elbows him, and Dean, noticing everyone else, including Maeve does the same.

After the Mass is over, they move over to talk to Lori; the only witness to the murder that happened. "Are you Lori?" Sam asked the woman who they walked up to, "Yeah." She smiles awkwardly at them; her eyes looking Sam up and down causing Dean and Maeve to raise a brow at the sight. "My name is Sam. This is my brother, Dean and his girlfriend, Maeve." Dean waves, Maeve giving the woman a nod. "Hi." They respond together, "We just transferred here to the university." Sam explains with a small smile. "I saw you inside." She smiles at him, Dean and Maeve watching with smirks. "We don't wanna bother you. We just heard about what happened and..." Sam hesitated, so Dean stepped up. "We wanted to say how sorry we were." He said, his face turning soft.

"I kind of know what you're going through. I-I saw someone..get hurt once. It's something you don't forget." Lori nods slightly, at Sam's words as the reverend walks up to them. "Dad, um, this is Sam and Dean. They're new students." Dean shakes the reverend's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, sir. I must say, that was an inspiring sermon." Maeve pinched him on his side, he shoots her a glare. "Thank you very much. It's so nice to find young people who are open to the Lord's message." Dean chuckles lowly, "Listen, uh, we're new in town, actually." He leads the reverend away from Sam, Maeve and Lori. "And, uh, we were looking for a, um, a church group." They leave, Maeve sighs as she stands awkwardly with Sam and Lori.

"Tell me, Lori. What are the police saying?" They start walking with her, "Well, they don't have a lot to go on. I think they blame me for that." She lets out a sigh. "What do you mean?" Maeve asks, a frown on her face as her eyes scanned the area around them. Her eyes making contact with Dean who winks at her from where he was standing with the reverend. She smiles back, her face slowly turning downwards as she turns back to face the woman. "My story. I was so scared, I guess I was, 'seeing things.'" They stop walking, "That doesn't mean it wasn't real." Maeve watches as Sam and Lori look at each other for a few seconds.

"𝑺𝒐 π’šπ’π’– π’ƒπ’†π’π’Šπ’†π’—π’† her?" Dean asks, as they sit in the impala outside the library. "I do." Sam nods, Dean smirks towards his brother. "Yeah, you think she's hot, too." Maeve responds as she pops her head up between them. "No, Maeve, there's something in her eyes. And listen to this: she heard scratching on the roof. Found the bloody body suspended upside down over the car. You heard her." Maeve sighed with nod, he had a point. "Wait, the body suspended? That sounds like the..." Dean paused with a frown, Maeve watching them in confusion. "Yeah, I know, the Hook Man legend." Sam replied, Maeve frowned at the two of them. She really needed to brush up on her urban legends, "That's one of the most famous urban legends ever. You don't think that we're dealing with the Hook Man."

"Every urban legend has a source. A place where it all began." Sam speaks up, "Yeah, like your Medusa, but what about the phantom scratches and the tire punctures and the invisible killer?" Sam winced at Medusa's glare from the mirror. "Well, maybe the Hook Man isn't a man at all. What if it's some kind of spirit?" Maeve asks, making a point as they leave the impala and head inside the library. They make their way towards a table to sit at, the librarian places a few big boxes in front of them. "Here you go. Arrest records going back to 1851." Dean blows some dust off a box and coughs. "Thanks." The woman stands there for a moment, her eyes scanning Dean who awkwardly smiles up at her with a nod to get her to move along. "Ok." She walks away, Maeve snorts lowly as she starts grabbing some books.

"So, this is how you spent four good years of your life, huh?" Dean asks his brother with a raised eyebrow as he wiped off the box. "Welcome to higher education." They begin reading.

Hours later, the guys are still looking, but Maeve is snoring lightly with her head on the table. Dean glances down at her a few times with a smile, she was so beautiful. "Hey, check this out. 1862. A preacher named Jacob Karns was arrested for murder. Looks like he was so angry over the red light district in town that one night he killed 13 prostitutes. Uh, right here, 'Some of the deceased were found in their bed, sheets soaked with blood. Others suspended upside down from the limbs of trees as a warning against sins of the flesh.'" Sam reads out to his brother as Dean looks at another page, "Get this, the murder weapon? Looks like the preacher lost his hand in an accident. Had it replaced with a silver hook." Sam points to another page, "Look where all this happened." Dean read it with a raised eyebrow.

"9 Mile Road." Dean murmurs with a frown, "Same place where the frat boy was killed." Sam nods back in agreement, Dean looks towards him with an impressed look on his face. "Nice job, Dr. Venkmen. Let's check it out." Sam gathers all the research as Dean wakes up Maeve and they leave. "Have a nice nap, sleeping beauty?" Dean mutters gently, his eyes scanning Maeve who shoots him a glare. "Bite me." She grumbles out, her eyes scanning the area as they make their way to the impala. "Anytime, sweetheart. Anywhere." She pushes him lightly, he lets out a laugh before moving to open the door for her. She slips in, not before giving him a kiss. "We'll talk later, big boy." She mutters with a smirk, he stills for a moment before gulping and closing the door behind her before climbing in the front seat.

She smiles at the symbols that shine through the sword, her baby. "Here you go." Dean says to Sam who raises an eyebrow in response. "If it is a spirit, buckshot won't do much good. Neither is a sword." Sam replies, looking towards Medusa with a pointed look. She smirks in response, "You'd be surprised what this baby can do." She twirls it, Dean gaps in awe; could she get any hotter? "Yeah, rock salt." He hands it to Sam, after clearing his throat and looking away from Maeve.

"Huh. Salt being a spirit deterrent." Dean takes out a coil of rope and shuts the trunk. "Yeah. It won't kill 'em. But it'll slow 'em down." They start walking towards the trees. "That's pretty good. You and Dad think of this?" Sam asked his brother, "I told you. You don't have to be a college graduate to be a genius." They hear noises among the trees and stop walking. Sam raises his gun and looks around, Medusa follows in suit; raising her sword. Dean turns to them whispering, "Over there. Over there." Sam aims the gun and cocks it. A figure comes out from behind the trees. It is a Sheriff, Medusa immediately winces in response. "Shit." She hissed out in horror, "Put the gun and sword down now! Now! Put your hands behind your head." Maeve grumbles in annoyance as she drops the sword, and raises her hands. "W-w-wait, okay, okay!"

"Now get down on your knees. Come on, do it! On your knees!" They get down, "Now get down on your bellies. Come on, do it!" Dean immediately says the first thing that pops into his head. "He had the gun!" They lay down as Maeve quickly slaps Dean on the side. "Asshat!"

A few hours later, Medusa, Dean and Sam are leaving the police station. "Saved your ass! Talked the Sheriff down to a fine. Dude, I am Matlock." Dean laughs as Maeve moves to smack him again. "Stop hitting me!" He yelps, she glares towards him causing him to immediately shut up. "But how?" Sam asks with a confused look, ignoring the couple that were now bickering. "I told him you were a dumbass pledge and that we were hazing you. The sword was fake." Maeve scoffed with an irritated expression, "Fake sword, my ass." She mutters out, "What about the shotgun?" Sam asks his brother with a pointed look. "I said that you were hunting ghosts and the spirits were repelled by rock salt. You know, typical Hell Week prank." He laughed again.

"And he believed you?" Sam and Maeve asked together with frowns on their faces. "Well, you look like a dumbass pledge." Seconds later, several Sheriffs run out of the building and speed away in police cars. Maeve, Sam and Dean exchange a look before taking off towards the impala to follow after them. They drive by Lori's sorority building, an ambulance is parked outside of it. They drive by and look at her, their faces pulling into frowns of confusion. Dean parks the car across the street from them, "Alright, Sweetheart. It's your turn if we get caught." Dean speaks up as he gives Maeve a wink, she sighs as they get out and walk around to the back of Lori's sorority. "Why would the Hook Man come here? This is a long way from 9 Mile Road."

"Maybe he's not haunting the scene of his crime. Maybe it's about something else." Two sorority girls come out the side entrance of the building, but they don't see the trio. Maeve, Sam and Dean lean against the side of the house next to some bushes to hide themselves. "Dude, sorority girls! Think we'll see a naked pillow fight?" Maeve smacks the back of his head causing him to turn around. She shoots him a pointed look before they turn and see Sam trying to climb onto the balcony of the house. Dean helps him up, then Maeve and then climbs up himself. Once they are up there, they sneak in Lori's window. Dean seems to fall on top of Sam by getting in the window. Maeve just barely managed to dodge Sam, and keep from getting herself squashed by Dean.

"Oh, sorry!" Dean grunts towards Sam as Maeve looks around the walk-in closet they landed in. "Be quiet." Maeve mutters to him as they grunt over each other, "You be quiet!" Dean snips back, Maeve immediately turns to look towards them with a pointed look. Sam immediately stopped his words as Dean froze, his eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights. "Sorry." They both muttered out, Sam slowly moving around her opening the door slightly and sees another Sheriff leaving the bedroom. Sam waits until the Sheriff goes downstairs and then opens the closet door. Once in Lori's bedroom, Maeve, Sam and Dean see the writing on the wall. "'Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?' That's right out of the legend." Maeve grimaced as Sam reads the words out loud. "That's not creepy at all." She grumbles with a frown, "Yeah, that's classic Hook Man all right." He taps his nose. "It's definitely a spirit."

"Yeah, I've never smelled ozone this strong before." Dean moves over to the window. "Hey, come here." The couple walk over to Sam, who points to the cross symbol beneath the writing. "Does that look familiar to you?"

𝑴𝒂𝒆𝒗𝒆, π‘Ίπ’‚π’Ž 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏 stand next to the car. They are looking at a picture of the cross symbol that they found during their research. "It's the same symbol. Seems like it is the spirit of Jacob Karns." Maeve speaks up, her eyes leaving the picture to scan the area. It was a habit of hers to watch her surroundings, after years of being hunted down; she couldn't help it. Her eyes moved to Dean, who had just glanced up at her as well, he gave her a confused smile. "All right, let's find the dude's grave, salt and burn the bones, and put him down." He speaks, choosing to ask Maeve about it later. Sam starts reading the passage, "'After execution, Jacob Karns was laid to rest in an Old North Cemetery. In an unmarked grave.'" They all look annoyed, "Super." Dean mutters sarcastically.

"Ok. So we know it's Jacob Karns. But we still don't know where he'll manifest next. Or why." Sam responds, "I'll take a wild guess about why. I think your little friend Lori has something to do with this." They get in the car, Dean starts it; they make their way back to the college. Once they arrive, they separate to check things out before meeting back up. Maeve and Dean walk up to Sam, "Hey." Sam breaths out, a small smile coming onto his face. "Man, you've been holding out on me. This college thing is awesome!" He winks and smiles at Maeve who rolls her eyes, like they didn't just have a quick make out session in one of the bathrooms. "This wasn't really my experience." Sam responds with a small laugh, "Let me guess. Libraries, studying, straight A's?" Sam nods, "What a geek. Alright, you do your homework?" Dean asked, raising a brow at his brother. "Yeah. It was bugging me, right? So how is the Hook Man tied up with Lori? So I think I came up with something." He unravels a piece of paper.

"1932. Clergyman arrested for murder. 1967. Seminarian held in hippie rampage." Dean reads out, "There's a pattern here. In both cases, the suspect was a man of religion who openly preached against immorality. And then found himself wanted for killings he claimed were the work of an invisible force. Killings carried outβ€”get thisβ€”with a sharp instrument." Sam sighs with a frown as Maeve looks towards him, "What's the connection to Lori?" She asked, Sam shrugs back. "A man of religion? Who openly preaches against immorality?" Maeve and Dean suddenly understand, "Except maybe this time, instead of saving the whole town, he's just trying to save his only daughter." Sam breaths out, Maeve and Dean give one another a look. "Reverend Sorensen. You think he's summoning the spirit?" Dean asked, "Maybe. Or, you know how a poltergeist can haunt a person instead of a place?"

"Yeah, the spirit latches onto the reverend's repressed emotions, feeds off them, yeah, okay." Dean grumbles with an eye roll, "Without the reverend ever even knowing it." Maeve says in agreement. "Either way, you should keep an eye on Lori tonight." Sam nods, "What about you?" Dean looks at Maeve with a suggestive look, she responds back with a pointed look. He sighs reluctantly. "We're gonna go see if we can find that unmarked grave." He gives Sam a look before grabbing Maeve's hand and pulling her along with him. "Might grab a quick bite to eat while I'm at it." Maeve smacks Dean on the arm as Sam's face pulls in disgust by what he just heard. He shakes his head, turning away from the couple who started bickering with one another.

Maeve and Dean soon end up in Old North Cemetery. Maeve is looking around with a flashlight, Dean walks beside her holding the supplies. They come across a headstone that is engraved with the cross symbol, "Here we go." She breaths out as they walk over to it. Dean drops the bag to open it, Maeve keeps an eye out as she shines the light for him. "So, you gonna explain to me why you got all jumpy when I mentioned Sam looking up the Medusa legend?" Medusa sighs as she looks away, Dean starts digging. "Let's just say we have a lot in common." Maeve mutters, Dean pauses before he continues. "You have a lot in common, huh?" Dean laughs sarcastically as Maeve shakes her head. "Dean, you know my history with men; you're the only one I've been with on my own accord." He stops again to look at her, "Can you just give me a little more time, please. I need to know that you won't hate me after I tell you." Dean places the shovel against the side of the hole he had halfway dug and moves to grab Maeve's hand.

"Hey, I'm not going to hate you. Whatever secret you have, I've gotten to the point where you can't scare me away." She lets out a laugh as tears gather in her eyes, "That's where you're wrong, everyone gets scared and leaves. I'm going to be alone after I tell you." He frowns at her, "Do you really have that little faith in me?" He asked, hurt in his voice. "I have all the faith in the world, Dean Winchester. Believe me. That's the problem." She breaths out gently, backing away from him. She quickly wipes her face as Dean watches her for a moment, he shakes his head before going back to digging. Five minutes later, he grunts. "That's it. Next time, I get to watch the cute girl's house." He shoots Maeve a wink, she lets out a small laugh as he breaks through the wooden floor of the grave and sees Jacob Karns' remains. "Hello, preacher." He throws his shovel aside.

Dean takes a few items out of his bag, Maeve watches him with hungry eyes. He pours salt and lighter fluid on the preacher's bones then lights a match. God damn, he looks really good all sweaty and dirty. "Goodbye, preacher." He throws the match into the grave and watches the bones burn into flames. He moves to gather the supplies, Maeve watches with a small smile in her face. Even if they weren't good now, she hopes they will be later.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 π’Žπ’π’“π’π’Šπ’π’ˆ, Maeve, Dean and two Sheriffs are walking down the hall of the local hospital. "No, it's alright, I'm with him. He's my brother." Dean points to Sam, "Hey! Brother!" Sam and the Sheriff turn to see Dean and Maeve who smiles and waves. Sam laughs awkwardly at the couple, "Let them through." The two Sheriffs let Dean and Maeve through. "Thanks." The couple and Sam walk towards each other, Dean shooting his brother a wide smile as they meet up. "You ok?" Maeve and Dean ask together, watching the man with frowns on their faces. "Yeah." Sam breaths out, "What the hell happened?" Dean asked, raising a brow at his brother. "Hook Man." Maeve and Dean shoot each other looks of confusion. "You saw him?" They asked in sync again. "Damn right. Why didn't you torch the bones?"

"What are you talking about, I did. You sure it's the spirit of Jacob Karns?" Maeve nodded along with Dean, they definitely torched the bones. "It sure as hell looked like him. And that's not all. I don't think the spirit is latching on to the reverend." Sam snips back in annoyance, "Well, yeah, the guy wouldn't send the Hook Man after himself." Maeve responds with a frown as she crossed her arms over her chest. "I think it's latching onto Lori. Last night she found out her father is having an affair with a married woman." Sam breaths out with a shake of his head. "So what?" Dean grumbles out, "So she's upset about it. She's upset about the immorality of it. She told me she was raised to believe that if you do something wrong, you get punished."

"Ok, so she's conflicted. And the spirit of Preacher Karns is latching on to repress the emotions and maybe he's doing the punishing for her, huh?" Dean asks, "Right. Rich comes on too strong, Taylor tries to make her into a party girl, Dad has an affair." Sam explains as he nods with them. "Remind me not to piss this girl off. But I burned those bones, I buried them in salt, why didn't that stop him?" Dean asked with a frown, Sam sighs with a shrug. "You must have missed something." Maeve snorts slightly at Dean's offended expression on his face. "No. I burned everything in that coffin, Maeve was standing there the whole time." Maeve nodded with him again. "Did you get the hook?" Sam asked, raising a brow towards the couple. "The hook?" Maeve and Dean spoke together, "Well, it was the murder weapon, and in a way, it was part of him."

"So, like the bones, the hook is a source of his power."

"So if we find the hook..."

"We stop the Hook Man." They smile at each other, Maeve rolls her eyes with a laugh towards her boys as they leave to head back for more research.

π‘©π’‚π’„π’Œ 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 library, Maeve, Sam and Dean are looking through more papers. "Here's something, I think. Log book, Iowa State Penitentiary." She been reading the paper out loud. "Karns, Jacob. Personal affects: disposition thereof." Sam leans over, "Does it mention the hook?" He asked, Dean quickly leans over as well on the other side of her head. "Yeah, maybe." Dean starts reading it, "Upon execution, all earthly items shall be remanded to the prisoner's house of worship, St. Barnabas Church." Sam raises a brow at his brother. "Isn't that where Lori's father preaches?" Maeve asks, her eyes looking between the guys. "Yeah." Dean replies with a nod, "Where Lori lives?" Sam asks with a confused frown on his face.

"Maybe that's why the Hook Man has been haunting reverends and reverends' daughters for the past 200 years." Maeve speaks up with a shrug, "Yeah, but if the hook were at the church or Lori's house, don't you think someone might've seen it? I mean, a bloodstained, silver-handled hook?" Sam asked, "Check the church records." Dean grunts as he gets up to go grab the records. An hour later, they've all moved as they continue researching; Dean is leaning back in a chair with his feet on the table, Maeve and Sam are on a couch. Sam leaning forward as he leans over to read another book, Maeve is laying upside down on the couch, her feet on the back and her head hanging down.

Sam starts reading out loud, "St. Barnabas donations, 1862. Received silver-handled hook from state penitentiary. Reforged." He pauses with a sigh, "They melted it down. Made it into something else." Finally, they had what they needed; Maeve groans as she sits up. The blood rushing back to her head, Sam smirking at the sight as Dean laughs while helping her up. Sam couldn't get over the fact that Maeve; weird little human was a mythical creature from Olympus.

𝑳𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 π’π’Šπ’ˆπ’‰π’•, they pull up to St. Barnabas Church, Dean parks the impala and the trio get out together. "Alright, we can't take any chances. Anything silver goes in the fire." Dean starts off as they head towards the church. "I agree. So, Lori's still at the hospital. We'll have to break in." Sam speaks up as they come to a stop, the three of them standing between the church and the house. "Alright, take your pick." Maeve responds, gesturing for Sam to get a move on. "I'll take the house, Maeve go with Dean." Sam responds as the couple nod together. "Ok." Sam begins walking towards the reverends house. "Hey." Dean calls out to his brother, Sam turns around. "Stay out of her underwear drawer." Maeve snorts as Sam gives his brother an annoyed look before he turns and walks away.

Maeve smacks Dean on his arm as he smirks towards her, "Please, don't tell me..." Dean interrupts her before she could finish with a dirty look on his face. "Oh, yeah. I have like three of yours, sweetheart. Gotta have something for when you go get food, etc." Dean winks at Maeve who shoots him a disgusted look, "Your a pig." She mutters out, he laughs. "Yeah, but you love it. Besides, don't think I didn't see you check me out earlier while I was all dirty. We are so gonna have hot sex when this is over." Dean laughs as Maeve trips over her feet, a blush coating her face. She shoves him one more time, the couple entering the church. "Shut up, shithead." Ten minutes later, Maeve and Dean are throwing everything silver into the fire. They pause when they hear a noise, turning to see Sam coming downstairs with a bag of things from Lori's house.

"I got everything that even looked silver." Sam tells them, "Better safe than sorry." They throw everything into the fire. Suddenly, they hear footsteps above them. "Move, move." Dean takes his gun and goes upstairs with Sam. Maeve follows close behind with her own gun this time, instead of her sword just in case they get jumped by the Sheriff again. They all pause when they spot Lori who is sitting in a pew alone, crying. Dean lowers his gun and goes back downstairs, with Maeve as Sam walks over to Lori. "So, what's next?" Maeve asks Dean who pauses with a frown as he looks towards her. "I mean, Sam really wants to find your father. I gotta ask, are you really looking for him?" Dean paused for a moment, he wanted to get mad, but he knew Maeve meant well. "Honestly, I am. But at the same time, I like things the way they are; you know. You, me and Sam, we are kicking ass and saving people. I don't know what's gonna happen if we find our dad but I know everything is going to change." Dean replies, Maeve giving him a nod in agreement.

The couple turn when they suddenly hear a shout and thumps above them, "That doesn't sound good." Maeve mutters out, Dean immediately nod in agreement.

"Come on. We gotta go." Sam states as he leads Lori away and opens the door to the basement. But the Hook Man is behind it and pushes his hook through the door. "Go!" Sam and Lori run down the aisle and into a back room. The Hook Man follows them and smashes the glass of another door with his hook. He swings at Sam a few times but misses. The Hook Man chases the two of them around the room and finally hooks Sam in the shoulder. He screams in pain and an invisible force drags Lori on her back across the floor. Sam runs over to her, "Come on. You okay?" The Hook Man appears and knocks Sam backwards into a wall. He gets up and maneuvers behind the Hook Man, who is standing over Lori. Dean and Maeve suddenly enter with their guns raised. "Sam, drop!" Sam crouches down, Maeve and Dean open fire on the Hook Man, He disappears into dust. "I thought we got all the silver." Sam breaths out, as he looks over to the couple.

"So did I." Dean responds as he moves over to help his brother up. "Then why is he still here?" Sam asks looking between them with a frown, "Well, maybe we missed something!" They look around, Sam noticing a cross necklace that Lori is wearing. "Lori, where did you get that chain?" Maeve and Dean looked in her direction. "My father gave it to me." Lori responds with a frown of confusion, "Where'd your dad get it?" Maeve asked her. "He said it was a church heirloom, he gave it to me when I started school." She explained to the trio, "Is it silver?!" Sam asks with wide eyes. "Yes!" Sam rips the chain off from around her neck. In the hallway, the Hook Man, who is now invisible, is making a long scratch on the wall. Dean and Maeve turns around to look at it, "Sam!" Dean throws Sam the rifle and the rock salt and Sam tosses Dean the necklace. Dean runs back downstairs, Maeve and Sam aim the gun at the scratch that is being made and start shooting.

Maeve continues to shoot as Sam quickly reloads the gun with rock salt. The pair switching, when The Hook Man appears and knocks the rifle out of Sam's hand. He then turns towards Maeve, and backhands her; She goes flying, a groan escaping her lips as she lands. "I hate being human." She grunts out as Sam and Lori crawl into the corner and watch the Hook Man tower over them. The Hook Man stops with his hook in the air. The hook melts and the rest of his body burns into nothing. Dean runs upstairs to make sure the Hook Man is gone. He walks over to Sam and Lori and gives them a knowing look, before his eyes scan the area to find Maeve. When he sees her, he immediately rushes towards her with wide eyes, "Maeve, Sweetheart. God damn, you ok?" She grunts back in response, "Yeah, I'll be fine."

Thirty minutes later, the trio stand outside St. Barnabus Church beaten up and bruised. The Sheriffs are walking around and there is an ambulance parked outside. One stands in front of Maeve and Dean, "And you saw him, too? The man with the hook?" The man questions, looking between them with a frown in his face. "Yes, I told you, we all saw him. We fought him off and then he ran." Dean explains with a sigh, "And that's all?" The sheriff raised an eyebrow, Dean sighs in annoyance and rolls his eyes with a nod. "Yeah, that's all." He grumbles, "Listen. You and your brother..." Dean interrupts the man. "Oh, don't worry, we're leaving town." He walks over to his car, where Maeve is waiting against it. She smiles at him as he leans down to give her a kiss, before opening the door for her. "My lady." She laughs, "Thank you, kind sir." She murmurs back. Dean gets in, his eyes watching Sam and Lori through his side view mirror; Maeve watches Dean with a frown on her face.

"I still don't know what happened. But I do know you saved my life. My father's, too. Thank you." Sam nods and smiles. Dean watches through the mirror and notices Sam just walks away without another word. Sam walks to the car and gets in, "We could stay." Sam shakes his head. Dean watches Lori looking sad, through the mirror; His eyes meeting Maeve's who gives him a look. He shakes his head in disappointment and drives away.

Another one bites the dust.
