𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏 π’Šπ’” π’π’šπ’Šπ’π’ˆ on his bed: head thrown back, eyes screwed shut, bottom lip between his teeth, with his hand wrapped tight around his cock. Maeve stands in front of him, eyes shining with lust as she watches him; her lip between her teeth. "Fuck, Maeve. Sweetheart, please." His green eyes open, his chest rising and falling as Maeve moves in closer. The outfit she wears, clings to her body. "You know, I guess I can give you what you want since you've been such a good boy." Maeve purrs out as she drags her fingers along his body. He shudders lightly as she moves to sit one top of him. Her legs wrapping around his waist as she grinds against his aching cock. Their lips meet and begin to move in sync Dean's arm wrapping around her waist.

Her fingers tangling in his hair, gripping the nape of his neck. Maeve couldn't help but moan at the taste of him; of the beer and smokey taste. She moans into his mouth as he dips his tongue into hers, tasting her. His hands soon wonder towards the exotic little piece she was wearing, slipping it off her body as their lips stayed locked with one another. After getting the piece off; Dean flips them over causing her to gasp. She lets out another moan when his lips attach to her chest, her back arching in pleasure. Dean smirks into her skin as he marks it up, licking the dip of her navel and sucking a love bite into her hip.

"Fuck Dean, please," She begs, but he breaks her off by sliding two curled fingers into her pussy and immediately begins to massage the inside of her. With him pumping his rough fingers in and out of her wet cunt while simultaneously sucking on her clit, it's not long till she's gripping the sheets and screaming his name as she cums, hard, glad he's forcing her hips down because she's bucking and squirming. Her mouth makes small whimpering noises, as he smirks cockily at her. He brings his fingers to his mouth and licks them clean, "Taste good, sweetheart." Maeve lets out a breath as she leans forwards to give him another kiss. He moans into her mouth as she grabs his cock, lining it up with her entrance. "I want you to fuck me, Dean Winchester." She breaths out, as he nods back with a smirk.

Biting down on his soft, cushiony lips, Dean slowly pushes himself into her and... oh god it feels so perfect, he's filling her so full she's speechless for a moment or two as he buries himself to the hilt. He shudders and slowly pulls out before pushing abruptly back into her, they both moan. Maeve throws her arms around him so she can dig her nails into his back. He fucking growls and slams into her harder, angling his dick just so that he's hitting that spot inside over and over. His balls are slapping against her ass with every thrust, Dean's thick cock thrusting up into her fast and hard. "Fuck." He grunts out, his body shuddering as he grows close, both of them shaking as they reach their peaks together. Maeve throws her head back, Dean wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her into a sitting position. She moans at the feeling of his body against hers, the new angle making it all the better.

The world seemed to freeze around them as they begin to relax, "That was amazing." He breaths out as he lays her down, her body limp against his. He smiles down at her, her body glistening with sweat and he found her absolutely gorgeous. The runes on her body, speaking more volumes than ever as she slipped into unconsciousness. She whimpers slightly as he pulls out of her, his body moving to gather a cloth to wipe her down. He moves around the room, another motel, another city. Sam had gotten another room to give them space, in his words; 'The sexual tension is driving me crazy.' Dean's eyes roam over Maeve's body as he begins to clean her up. Afterwards, he settles down in beside her with a small smile on her face. Peace. She was his peace, and he pulls her close, almost immediately falling asleep with her in his arms.

π‘»π’˜π’ π’π’Šπ’ˆπ’‰π’•π’” 𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓, Sam is reading a newspaper article about Dustin. A minute later, Dean comes outside, laughing and waving a wad of cash in the air. Maeve follows close behind him with a shake of her head and a smile. "You know, we could get day jobs once in a while." Sam states, giving Dean a pointed look as the couple frown back at him. "Hunting's our day job. And the pay is crap." Dean grumbles with an eye roll as he gives Maeve a kiss. "Yeah, but hustling pool? Maeve flirting? Credit card scams? It's not the most honest thing in the world, Dean." Sam points out, looking at the couple who give him smiles in response. "Well, let's see honest." He holds out one hand, "Fun and easy." He holds out the other, and gestures that, 'fun and easy' outweighs 'honest.' "It's no contest. Besides, we're good at it. It's what we were raised to do." Dean responds to his brother with a sarcastic look.

"Yeah, well, how we were raised was jacked." Sam snipped in annoyance, "Yeah, says you. We got a new gig or what?" Dean asked, looking towards Sam with a raised eyebrow. "Maybe. Oasis Plains, Oklahoma - not far from here. A gas company employee, Dustin Burwash, supposedly died from Creutzfeldt-Jakob." Sam explains, "Huh?" Maeve and Dean ask together. "Human mad cow disease." Sam responds with a raised eyebrow, "Mad cow. Wasn't that on Oprah?" Dean asked with a frown of confusion, both Maeve and Sam turn to look towards him. "You watch Oprah?" They asked together, Dean, embarrassed, can't think of anything to say. He quickly clears his throat to change the topic, Maeve watching him with a smirk. "So this guy eats a bad burger. Why is it our kind of thing?" Dean asks.

"Mad cow disease causes massive brain degeneration. It takes months, even years, for the damage to appear. But this guy, Dustin? Sounds like his brain disintegrated in about an hour. Maybe less." Sam explains, his shoulders giving a shrug. "Okay, that's weird." Dean grumbled out, "Yeah. Now, it could be a disease. Or it could be somethin' much nastier." Maeve pointed out with a raised eyebrow, "All right. Oklahoma." They all get in the car and drive off. The drive was a few hours, the sun rising as Maeve slept against the window in the back. When they arrive in Oklahoma, they stop at a Gas and Power Company Building. Dean pulls the impala in, parks his baby before turning to wake up his other one.

He watches with a smile as she groans lightly, waking up with a frown of annoyance. "Wake up, sleeping beauty. Where here." Sam watches them with a smile of his own, he was happy his brother was able to get what he had before. She would keep him on the right track, she had too. The trio get out of the car and approach Travis, "Travis Weaver?" Sam asks as they walk up to a man who is walking out of the building. "Yeah, that's right." The man answers with a frown as he looks between them. "Are you the Travis who worked with Uncle Dusty?" Dean asks, Maeve's eyes scanning the area as he did so. "Dustin never mentioned nephews." Travis frowns at the trio, noting the arm wrapped around the woman's waist. She definitely wasn't related, "Really? Well, he sure mentioned you. He said you were the greatest." Dean smiles cockily.

"Yeah." Sam nods with a smile, the lie passing quickly through his teeth. Travis immediately starts smiling as well, "Oh, he did? Huh." It seemed to give the man an ego boost, which causes Maeve to roll her eyes. Men. "Listen, we wanted to ask you... what exactly happened out there?" Maeve speaks up, cocking her head to the side. "I'm not sure. He fell in a sinkhole, I went to the truck to get some rope, and, uh... by the time I got back..." The man paused with a frown, his eyes closing as he shakes his head in sadness. "What did you see?" Dean and Maeve asked together, the man looked between them with a raised eyebrow. "Nothin'. Just Dustin." Travis breaths out, "No wounds or anything?"

"Well, he was bleeding... from his eyes and his ears, his nose. But that's it." Travis breaths out, his eyes tearing up just a bit at the thought. "So you think it could be this whole mad cow thing?" Dena asks, raising a brow. "I don't know. That's what the Doctors are sayin'." Travis shrugs in response causing Medusa to roll her eyes with a scoff. Yeah, just believe what you're told. Typical. She knew better than most about that, "But if it was, he would've acted strange beforehand, like dementia, loss of motor control. You ever notice anything like that?" Sam asked the man, "No. No way. But then again, if it wasn't some disease, what the hell was it?" Travis scoffed back with a laugh. "That's a good question." Dean murmured with a scoff of his own, his eyes turning towards Maeve who gave him a pointed look. "You know, can you tell us where this happened?"

"Yeah."

A while later, Medusa, Dean and Sam arrive at the scene of Dustin's death. The sinkhole is surrounded by police tape, "Huh. What do you think?" Dean asks as he turns to them, "I don't know. But if that guy, Travis, was right, it happened pretty damn fast." They duck under the police tape and look into the hole with a flashlight. "So, what? Some sort of creature chewed on his brain?" Dean asked, Maeve frowned as she looks down the hole as well. She really didn't like the sound of that, "No, there'd be an entry wound. Sounds like this thing worked from the inside." She shivered in disgust at his words. "Huh. Looks like there's only room for one. You wanna flip a coin?" The guys look at one another, Maeve cocks her head to the side as she leans down to look deeper in the hole. Her eyes squinting as she notices something, "Dean, we have no idea what's down there." There was something down there.

Dean picks up a nearby coil of rope, "All right, I'll go if you're scared. You scared?" Dean asks his brother with a teasing smirk, "I'll go." The brothers turn to Maeve, both raising brows at the woman. "What? Did you think because I'm a girl and I wear heels that I can't crawl in a hole?" She asks, standing up and placing her hands on her hips. The boys both shake their heads, "No, sweetheart. We got this, and it doesn't have anything to do with you or your sexy ass heels." Dean speaks up with a wink as he moves over to give her a kiss on her cheek. "Flip the damn coin." Sam grunts out as he gives his brother a look, Dean chuckles and takes a coin out of his pocket. Medusa rolls her eyes and shakes her head with a small laugh, "Boys." She grumbles out. "All right, call it in the air... chicken." He flips the coin, and Sam catches it in midair.

"I'm going." Sam demands, giving Dean and Maeve a smirk. "I said I'd go." Dean replies, his own voice kinda condescending. "I'm going." Sam speaks in determination, Maeve laughs at Dean's subtle smirk. "All right." Sam begins tying the rope around his waist. "Don't drop me." The couple lets out a laugh as they begin to lower Sam in the hole.

π‘Ύπ’‰π’Šπ’π’† 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏 π’…π’“π’Šπ’—π’†π’”, Sam is examining a dead beetle in his hand. Maeve leans forward to look over his shoulder, her head cocking to the side at the sight of the beetle as well. "So you found some beetles. In a hole, in the ground. That's shocking, Sam." Dean grumbles out sarcastically with a scoff as he looks over as well. "There were no tunnels, no tracks. No evidence of any other kind of creature down there. You know, some beetles do eat meat. Now, it's usually dead meat, but..." Sam paused, his lips turning down into a frown. "How many did you find down there?" Dean asks, raising a brow at his brother, looking between the road and the other pair. "Ten." Medusa and Sam reply together, "It'd take a whole lot more than that to eat out some dude's brain." Dean responds with a scoff, "Well, maybe there were more."

"I don't know, it sounds like a stretch to me." Deans sighs, "Well, we need more information on the area, the neighborhood. Whether something like this has ever happened before." Sam responds with a shrug, Maeve leans back as she moves to look out the window. They drive through town, they pass a sign for an open house, decorated with red balloons. "What?" Sam asked at Dean's look, Maeve looks back towards them with a raised eyebrow. "I know a good place to start." Another sign reads, 'Models Open. New Buyers' BBQ Today!' "I'm kinda hungry for a little barbeque, how 'bout you?" Sam gives him a knowing look, "What, we can't talk to the locals?" Dean asked, his body language and demeanor betraying his voice. "And the free food's got nothin' to do with it?" Sam asks with a laugh as Maeve smirks at Dean.

"Of course not. I'm a professional." Dean scoffed back with a smirk, Maeve smiled at him; her eyes shining. Sam noticed the look, his eyes looking between them for a moment before widening in realization. A smile makes its way onto his lips as he looks away, "Right." They pull over and get out of the car. They begin walking down the street to the open house, Dean's arm wrapping around her waist as they moved. "Growin' up in a place like this would freak me out." Dean mutters sarcastically, his eyes scanning the area. "Why?" Maeve asked, looking up at her lover. "Well, manicured lawns, 'How was your day, honey?' I'd blow my brains out." She paused at his words, it wasn't so bad. She had tried it for a few years before people started to get curious.

"There's nothing wrong with, 'normal.' Believe me, I've had plenty of it." Maeve murmurs gently, Sam and Dean giving her frowns before glancing at one another. They continued onwards, "I'd take our family over normal any day." Dean murmurs gently as he kisses her on the forehead. They approach the house and knock on the door, the homeowner answers. "Welcome." He smiles, opening his arms wide with a smile. "This the barbeque?" Dean asks, "Yeah, not the best weather, but... I'm Larry Pike, the developer here. And you are...?" He looks between the trio, "Dean, Maeve and this is Sam." Dean introduced them, they all shake hands with the man. "Sam, Maeve, Dean, good to meet you. So, you three are interested in Oasis Plains?" Larry asks, looking between them with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, sir."

"Let me just say - we accept homeowners of any race, religion, color, or... sexual orientation." He looks between the brothers and they quickly realize what he is trying to say. Maeve lets out a small laugh, as the brothers look towards her with a glare. "We're brothers. Maeve is my girlfriend." He pulled Maeve closer, she grins and leans into him with a nod. Larry seems slightly embarrassed, when they give one another a kiss. "Our father is getting on in years, and we're just lookin' for a place for him. Maeve joined us on the journey." Sam explains to the man, "Great, great. Well, seniors are welcome, too. Come on in." Larry takes them outside to the backyard, there are lots of people walking around, chatting and eating. "You said you were the developer?" Maeve asks, her eyes scanning over the area. "Eighteen months ago, I was walking this valley with my survey team. There was nothing here but scrub brush and squirrels. And you know what, we built such a nice place to live that I actually bought into it myself. This is our house. We're the first family in Oasis Plains."

They walk over to a woman who was talking with another couple, "This is my wife, Joanie." Larry introduces her after gently pulling her away. She turns to face them with a smile, "Hi there." She greets, Maeve winces slightly at how perky it sounded. "Hi." They all shake hands with the woman, "Hi, nice to meet you." She responds to Maeve who gives a fake smile, "Sam, Maeve and Dean." Larry introduces them as Sam shakes her hand. "Pleasure." She replies, "Tell them how much you love the place, honey. And lie if you have to because I need to sell some houses." Larry laughs with his wife as the trio shoot each other looks. "Right." They laugh awkwardly at the couple, Larry suddenly frowns as he notices something behind them. "Sorry, will you excuse me?" He leaves, Joanie smiles at the trio. "Don't let his salesman routine scare you. This really is a great place to live."

A very energetic woman, approaches them. Her black hair is pulled back in a tight bun, "Hi, I'm Lynda Bloome, head of sales." She speaks with a wide smile, Maeve raises an eyebrow at the woman. "And Lynda was second to move in. She's a very noisy neighbor, though." She leaves, Lynda laughs and turns back to face them. "She's kidding, of course. I take it you two are interested in becoming homeowners." Lynda replies, "Well..." Dean pauses with a clear of his throat, "Y-yeah, well..." Sam laughs awkwardly as well. "Well, let me just say that we accept homeowners of any race, religion, color, or... sexual orientation." Dean chuckles sarcastically as Maeve laughs again. "Right. Um... I'm gonna go talk to Larry." He turns to Sam, "Okay, honey?" He walks away, smacking Sam on his ass. Sam and Lynda share an awkward silence, before Maeve speaks up. "Their brothers, I'm Dean's girlfriend." Her eyes widened as she cleared her throat, Maeve turns to explore the area some more.

Maeve moves around the area, giving people small smiles as she walks towards the other side of the yard. A frown pulls onto her face as she bends down to the ground, a familiar feeling. She places her hand on the ground and closes her eyes, the exact same feeling from the hole. "Matthew." Maeve turns to see Larry and Dean walking towards Sam and a young boy. She frowns for a moment, before getting up and moving over the group as well. "I am so sorry about my son and his... pet." Larry laughs awkwardly, "It's no bother." Sam laughs back; Maeve and Dean looking between them. "Excuse us." He walks away with Matt, "Remind you of somebody?" Sam asks as Dean looks over at Larry, who is yelling at Matt. He looks back at Sam, confused; Maeve continues to watch with a confused look on her face. "Dad?" Sam hinted with raised eyebrows, "Dad never treated us like that."

"Well, Dad never treated you like that. You were perfect. He was all over my case. You don't remember?" Maeve raised a brow at the brothers, she probably shouldn't be listening in on this conversation but it wasn't like she had anywhere else to go. "Well, maybe he had to raise his voice, but sometimes, you were out of line." Sam scoffs with an eye roll, "Right. Right, like when I said I'd rather play soccer than learn bowhunting." Sam responds with a pointed look, Maeve cocks her in confusion. "Bowhunting's an important skill." Dean states, Maeve nods in agreement while Sam rolls his eyes. "Whatever. How was your tour?" Sam asks with a raised eyebrow, Maeve also looking towards him in agreement. "Oh, it was excellent. I'm ready to buy." Maeve and Sam laugh.

"So you might be onto somethin'. Looks like Dustin Burwash wasn't the first strange death around here." Dean starts up after a small moment of silence, "What happened?" Maeve asked, looking towards her lover with a raised eyebrow. "About a year ago, before they broke ground, one of Larry's surveyors dropped dead while on the job. Get this severe allergic reaction to bee stings." Dean explains, "More bugs." Sam responds as Dean nods. "More Bugs."

What is it that could make different bugs attack?" Dean asks with a scoff, Maeve is reading over his shoulder. Her hands gently running through his hair as he reads, "Well, hauntings sometimes include bug manifestations." Sam responds as he continues to drive. "Yeah, but we didn't see any evidence of ghost activity." Maeve speaks up as she looks towards Sam for a moment. "Yeah, me neither." Sam replies with a small nod, "Maybe they're being controlled somehow. You know, by something or someone." Maeve speaks up gently, her voice sending shivers down Dean's spine as she speaks in his ear. "You mean, like Willard?" Sam asked once again.

"Yeah, bugs instead of rats." Dean replied to his brother, the man grabbing Maeve's hand and giving the back of it a kiss. "There are cases of psychic connections between people and animals - elementals, telepaths." Sam states, "Yeah, that whole Timmy-Lassie thing." He thinks for a second and realizes something. "Larry's kid - he's got bugs for pets." Sam frowns towards his brother, "Matt?" He asks. "Yeah." Dean nods back to Sam who sighs, "He did try to scare the realtor with a tarantula." Sam mutters back, Maeve raises an eyebrow at the notion. "You think he's our Willard?" She asked, looking between the boys. "I don't know. Anything's possible, I guess." Dean's eyes turned towards a house off to the side, "Ooh, hey. Pull over here." Sam pulls into the empty driveway of one of the Oasis Plains homes.

"What are we doing here?" Dean quickly turns to give Maeve a kiss before he gets out of the car. "It's too late to talk to anybody else." Dean hints, "We're gonna squat in an empty house?" Sam asks with a scoff as he raises a brow at Dean, Maeve smirks in response. "I wanna try the steam shower with Maeve. Come on." Sam doesn't move as he grimaces at Dean's words, Maeve gives Dean a look to which he responds with a smirk. "Come on!" Reluctantly, Sam pulls the car into the garage, his hand reaching out the window to smack Dean in the stomach. Dean grunts as Maeve lets out a laugh at the brothers before Dean closes the garage door.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 π’Žπ’π’“π’π’Šπ’π’ˆ, Sam approaches the bathroom door, where the shower can be heard running. He knocks, hoping that he wouldn't hear anymore of what he was hearing last night. "You two ever comin' out of there?" Sam asks through the door, Maeve giggles lightly as she pulls away from Dean. The man smirked down at her as he made sure to keep her close, "What?" Dean asks out loud before leaning his head down into Maeve's neck and trailing kisses against it. "Dean, a police call came in on the scanner. Maeve, can you please get him moving." She laughs at Sam's voice as she slowly starts to pull away from him. Dean pouts as the water rushes down his back, "Hold on." Maeve calls out gently, her hands wondering up to his hair as she washed the soap from it. He closes his eyes to enjoy it for a moment, opening them when she pulls away from him.

"Someone was found dead three blocks from here. Come on." The couple slip out, Dean moving towards the door and opening it. He is standing there, in the steam-filled room, with a towel on his head. "This shower is awesome." Maeve laughs lightly from behind him as she continues to dry herself off, Sam scoffs rolling his eyes. "Yeah, I'm sure it's the shower. Come on." He walks away, Dean closing the door and turning to Maeve with a smirk. His eyes moving up and down her body as he pulls her close, "I love these tattoos, sweetheart." She smiles at him through the mirror as he stands behind her. "Their runes, remember." She murmurs gently as she turns to face him, "Come on, big boy. We got a case."

An hour later, the trip pull up and get out of the car. They approach Larry, who is finishing talking to someone on the phone. A body is being carried out in a body bag on a stretcher. "Hello. You're, uh, back early." Larry frowns at the three of them, "Yeah, we just drove in, wanted to take another look at the neighborhood." Dean lies easily as they all frown at the sight. "What's goin' on?" Maeve asks with a cock of her head, "You guys met, uh... Lynda Bloome at the barbeque?" Larry asks them, they nodded in response. "The realtor." Sam breathed out with a nod, "Well, she, uh... passed away last night." The trio is shocked at the news. "What happened?" Dean asked, "I'm still tryin' to find out. Identified the body for the police. Look, I-I'm sorry, this isn't a good time now."

"It's okay." Sam nods at the man, "Excuse me." He leaves them. "You know what we have to do, right?" Dean asks looking towards Maeve and Sam who both nod in response. "Yeah. Get in that house." Sam replies with a small smirk, "See if we got a bug problem." A few minutes later, they climb over the fence, up the side of the house, and through Lynda's bedroom window. The outline of her dead body is drawn on the carpet. "This looks like the place." They walk over to another part of the room. Dean picks up a towel, and drops it when he sees it is covered in dead spiders. "Spiders. From Spider Boy?" Sam frowns at the notion, "Matt - maybe."

Shortly afterwards the trio pull up to the curb in the impala. Across the street, Matt gets off a school bus and begins walking. "Isn't his house that way?" He points in the opposite direction. "Yup." Sam responds immediately, "So where's he goin'?" They get out of the car and begin following Matt. They find him in the woods, examining a grasshopper. "Hey, Matt. Remember me?" Sam asks the boy who turns to face them with wide eyes. "What are you doin' out here?" Matt asks with a worried look on his face as he backs away from them. "Well, we wanna talk to you." Dean raises a brow at the boy as they move closer towards him. "You're not here to buy a house, are you?" Dean shakes his head.

"W-wait. You're not serial killers?" Sam and Dean laugh, Maeve however doesn't as she looks away from them. Sam frowns towards her, his eyes turning sympathetic at her. "No, no. No, I think you're safe." Sam smiles as he turns back to the boy watching them, "So, Matt... you sure know a lot about insects." Maeve starts after clearing her throat with a fake smile. "So?" Matt questions, "Did you hear what happened to Lynda, the realtor?" Dean asked back, raising a brow. "I hear she died this morning." Matt responded with a sad nod, "Mm, that's right. Spider bites." Dean starts off with a raise of his brow. Maeve watches the boy, he didn't seem to understand what Dean was hinting towards so Sam spoke up. "Matt... you tried to scare her with a spider." San hinted, "Wait. You think I had something to do with that?"

"You tell us." Dean responds with a dark expression, Maeve grabs his arm to cool him off. It works, Matt scoffs at the idea. "That tarantula was a joke. Anyway, that wouldn't explain the bee attack or the gas company guy." Matt snips back, raising a brow at the trio. He had a valid point, "You know about those?" Sam asks with a cock of his head as he stared at the boy in shock. "There is somethin' going on here. I don't know what... but something's happening with the insects. Let me show you something." He picks up his backpack and beings walking with them to another area. "So, if you knew about all this bug stuff, why not tell your dad? Maybe he could clear everybody out." Matt scoffs at Sam's words. "Believe me, I've tried. But, uh, Larry doesn't listen to me."

"Why not?" Maeve asks the boy as they continue to follow behind him. "Mostly? He's too disappointed in his freak son." Matt responds, Sam gives a laugh scoff as he nods in agreement. "I hear you." Dean frowns at his brother words, "You do?" Sam turns and gives him a look; Dean glares back. "Matt, how old are you?" Maeve asks, trying to change the subject. The tension between the brothers making her tense and she hated the feeling. "Sixteen." He responds almost immediately, "Well, don't sweat it, because in two years, something great's gonna happen." They all turned to look at Sam, "What?" He smirks in response. "College. You'll be able to get out of that house and away from your dad."

Dean comes to a stop and grabs Sam by the arm, stopping him. "What kind of advice is that? Kid should stick with his family." Sam sighs and glares at him, "How much further, Matt?" Maeve speaks up again, "We're close." Sam glares at Dean one more time before he continues walking. Maeve watches Dean frown at his brothers back before he too moves forward, his hand reaching for her own as he moves. A few moments later, they reach a large clearing. The sounds of hundreds of different insects can be heard among the trees. "I've been keeping track of insect populations. It's, um, part of an AP science class." Dean lets out a sarcastic laugh, "You two are like peas in a pod." Sam ignores him. "What's been happening?" Sam turns to Matt with a questioning look. "A lot. I mean, from bees to earthworms, beetles... you name it. It's like they're congregating here."

"Why?" Dean asks, "I don't know." Matt responds with a shrug. "What's that?" Maeve points to a dark patch of grass a few feet away. Curious, they walk over to it and discover hundreds of worms. Dean steps on some of them, and they fall into the ground, creating a hole. He crouches down and uses a stick to poke around in the hole. "There's somethin' down there." He puts the stick down and puts his hand into the hole. With a disgusted expression, he feels something inside the hole. He brings his hand back up, and the three boys look horrified. Covered in dirt and worms, is a human skull.

Dean responded back with a shrug, Maeve shrugs as well. "Yeah, maybe. Question is, why bugs? And why now?" She speaks up, "That's two questions." Maeve and Sam ignore him since he was being a little shit. "Yeah, so with that kid back there... why'd you tell him to just ditch his family like that?" Maeve immediately shuts her mouth as she lets the boys quarrel with each other. "Just, uh... I know what the kid's goin' through." Sam starts off slowly, clearing her throat.

"How 'bout tellin' him to respect his old man, how's that for advice?" Dean snips back with a glare towards his younger brother, "Dean, come on." They stop walking, Maeve immediately rolling her eyes as she steps back. "This isn't about his old man. You think I didn't respect Dad. That's what this is about." Sam snaps in anger at his brother as Dean shakes his head with a scoff, "Just forget it, all right? Sorry I brought it up." Dean grunts out, "I respected him. But no matter what I did, it was never good enough." Sam responds, "So what are you sayin'? That Dad was disappointed in you?" Dean questions back in response. "Was? Is. Always has been." Sam replies, Maeve sighs from where she was standing. "Why would you think that?" Dean asks, "Because I didn't wanna bowhunt or hustle pool - because I wanted to go to school and live my life, which, to our whacked-out family, made me the freak."

"Yeah, you were kind of like the blonde chick in The Munsters." Dean responds with a smirk towards his brother, "Dean, you know what most dads are when their kids score a full ride? Proud. Most dads don't toss their kids out of the house." Sam snarls in anger, "I remember that fight. In fact, I seem to recall a few choice phrases comin' out of your mouth." Dean points towards Sam in anger as he glared up at his brother. "You know, truth is, when we finally do find Dad... I don't know if he's even gonna wanna see me." Sam shakes his head sadly, "Sam, Dad was never disappointed in you. Never. He was scared." Dean tells his brother slowly with a sad look on his face. Maeve knew. Dean and her had got to talking late one night, Dean was hurting. He knew his father loved Sam more than him, that's what ate him up at night. Maeve knows Dean hates himself more than anything and that's what hurts her the most, but she could also understand more than anyone. She hated herself just as much as Dean did, "What are you talkin' about?"

"He was afraid of what could've happened to you if he wasn't around. But even when you two weren't talkin'... he used to swing by Stanford whenever he could." Sam's smirk fades, "Keep an eye on you. Make sure you were safe." Dean breathes out as tears gather in his eyes. "What?" Sam asks, his shoulders sagging as he stares at his brother in shock. "Yeah." Dean nods, "Why didn't you tell me any of that?" Sam asked, his brows furrowing in confusion. "Well, it's a two-way street, dude. You could've picked up the phone." Sam stares at him sadly. "You ladies done? Come on, we're gonna be late for our appointment." She walks away, the boys let out small chuckles as they follow after her.

Inside the college, Maeve, Sam and Dean are talking with the professor. "So, you three are students?" The man asked, looking between them with a frown. "Yeah. Yeah, uh, we're in your class - Anthro 101?" Sam lies with an awkward smile, "Oh, yeah." He reluctantly agrees with a nod, "So, what about the bones, Professor?" Maeve asks with a cock of her head. "This is quite an interesting find you've made. I'd say they're 170 years old, give or take. The timeframe and the geography heavily suggest Native American." The professor responds, "Were there any tribes or reservations on that land?" Sam asks, raising a brow at the man who shakes his head. "Not according to the historical record. But the, uh, relocation of native peoples was quite common at that time." He tells them, "Right. Well, are there any local legends? Oral histories about the area?" Maeve asks this time, her eyebrow raising at the professor.

"Well... you know, there's a Euchee tribe in Sapulpa. It's about sixty miles from here. Someone out there might know the truth." He responds with a shrug, "All right." Dean nods as the trio turns to leave. They are driving through Sapulpa, stopping to ask a Native American man for directions. Once he directs them where to go, they thank him and drive away. A few minutes later, the trio enters an Oklahoma diner and find another Native American man playing cards at a table. "Joe White Tree?" The man nods, "We'd like to ask you a few questions, if that's all right." Sam smiles at the man as Maeve shifts slightly under his gaze as he looks up. "We're students from the university." Dean lies, "No, you're not. You're lying." Dean seems taken aback. "Well, truth is..." The man interrupts him again with a shake of his head. "You know who starts sentence with, 'truth is?' Liars." Maeve snorts lightly as Dean exchanges a look with Sam.

"Have you heard of Oasis Plains? It's a housing development near the Atoka Valley." Sam asks as the man turns to Dean, "I like him. He's not a liar." Dean looks angry as Sam and Maeve snort lightly at the response. "I know the area." Joe nods to Sam, "What can you tell us about the history there?" Maeve asks, moving to sit down in front of the man. "Why do you wanna know?" Joe asks her, "Something... something bad is happening in Oasis Plains. We think it might have something to do with some old bones we found down there - Native American bones." Sam explains to the older man, "I'll tell you what my grandfather told me, what his grandfather told him. Two hundred years ago, a band of my ancestors lived in that valley. One day, the American cavalry came to relocate them. They were resistant, the cavalry impatient. As my grandfather put it, on the night the moon and the sun share the sky as equals, the cavalry first raided our village."

Joe paused, "They murdered, raped. The next day, the cavalry came again, and the next, and the next. And on the sixth night, the cavalry came one last time. And by the time the sun Rose, every man, woman, and child still in the village was dead. They say on the sixth night, as the chief of the village lay dying, he whispered to the heavens that no white man would ever tarnish this land again. Nature would rise up and protect the valley. And it would bring as many days of misery and death to the white man as the cavalry had brought upon his people." He finished his story, Dean frowns as he looks between them. "Insects. Sounds like nature to me. Six days." He raised a brow towards Sam, "And on the night of the sixth day, none would survive." Sam and Dean exchange a look.

Maeve, Sam and Dean are walking back to the car. "When did the gas company man die?" Sam asks, looking towards his brother who frowns for a moment. "Uh, let's see, we got here Tuesday, so, Friday the twentieth." Dean responds, "March twentieth?" Sam ask Dean who gives him a nod back. "That's the spring equinox." Maeve speaks up, her eyes looking between them. "The night the sun and the moon share the sky as equals." Dean murmurs with a frown, "So, every year about this time, anybody in Oasis Plains is in danger. Larry built this neighborhood on cursed land." Sam scoffs with a shake of his head as they stop at the impala. "And on the sixth night - that's tonight." Dean states, his eyes widening as he opens the door for Maeve. "If we don't do something, Larry's family will be dead by sunrise. So how do we break the curse?" Sam asks, rushing to the passenger side of the impala. "You don't break a curse. You get out of its way. We've gotta get those people out now." They get in the car and drive away.

Dean is driving while talking on the phone with Larry. "Yes, Mr. Pike, there's a mainline gas leak in your neighborhood." Maeve shakes her head from the backseat, she knows for a fact that the man wouldn't believe Dean. "Well, it's fairly extensive. I don't want to alarm you, but we need your family out of the vicinity for at least twelve hours or so, just to be safe. Travis Weaver. I work for Oklahoma Gas and Power. Uh..." His eyes widened as he looks panicked, he hangs up. Sam rolls his eyes, "Give me the phone." He takes the phone from Dean and dials a number. At the Pike residence, Matt answers his cell phone. "Matt, it's Sam. Matt, just listen. You have to get your family out of that house right now, okay?Because something's coming. Yeah, a lot more. You've gotta make him listen, okay?" Sam snaps into the phone, Maeve and Dean only listening to Sam's side of the conversation.

"Give me the phone, give me the phone." He grabs the phone from Sam, "Matt, under no circumstances are you to tell the truth, they'll just think you're nuts. Tell him you have a sharp pain in your right side and you've gotta go to the hospital, okay?" He hangs up, turning towards Sam with a scoff. "Make him listen? What are you thinkin'?" Maeve rolls her eyes at the boys. A while later, they pull up outside Larry's house. Larry looks out the window and, seeing their car, goes outside. "Damn it, they're still here. Come on." They get out of the car, joined by Matt. Larry rushes out the front door with a glare at the trio. "Get off my property before I call the cops." He threatens, pointing towards Dean. "Mr. Pike, listen." Sam starts, but he was interrupted by Larry who shakes his head at the man. "Dad, they're just tryin' to help."

"Get in the house!" Larry snaps at his son as Matt turns to the trio with wide eyes. "I'm sorry. I told him the truth." Dean scoffs as he rolls his eyes, "We had a plan, Matt, what happened to the plan?" Dean huffs out, as he throws his arms up. "Look, it's 12:00 AM. They are coming any minute now. You need to get your family and go, before it's too late." Sam speaks up, turning to Larry who glares back at Sam. "Yeah, you mean before the biblical swarm." Larry scoffs back, his tone sarcastic and condescending. "Larry, what do you think really happened to that realtor, huh? And the gas company guy? You don't think somethin' weird's goin' on here?" Dean asks, raising a brow at the man. "Look, I don't know who you are, but you're crazy. You come near my boy or my family again, and we're gonna have a problem."

"Well, I hate to be a downer, but we've got a problem right now." Maeve speaks up as she notices something in the distance. "Dad, they're right, okay? We're in danger." Matt tries to convince his father who doesn't want to listen. "Matt, get inside! Now!" Larry yells to Matt, "No! Why won't you listen to me?!" Matt snaps, spinning to face his father with a hurt look on his face. "Because this is crazy! It doesn't make any sense!" Larry shouts back, "Look, this land is cursed! People have died here. Now, are you gonna really take that risk with your family?" Sam questions, his eyes hardening as he stares Larry down. Dean taking notice of Maeve's attention on the distance, frowns when he sees it too. "Wait." They all go silent, "You hear it?"

From somewhere nearby, a very loud buzzing noise can be heard. It continues to get louder as the insects in the distance grow closer, that's when everyone else notices them as well. "What the hell?" The fluorescent bug light on the porch begins to overheat, killing several bugs at a time. "All right, it's time to go. Larry, get your wife." Dean calls out, "Guys. It's too late." Maeve responds as the millions of bugs grow even closer towards the house, blanketing the sky. "Oh my God." Larry breaths out in horror as Sam turns to Maeve and Dean, "We'll never make it." They nod in agreement as Dean turns to face Larry and Matt. "Everybody in the house. Everybody in the house, go!" They rush inside the house and lock the door. "Okay, is there anybody else in the neighborhood?" Dean asks, "No, it's just us." Joanie enters with a look of confusion on her face. "Honey, what's happening? What's that noise?"

"Call 911." She doesn't move, "Joanie!" He shouts towards her, she jumps in response. "Okay." She picks up the phone and dials. "I need towels."

"Uh, in the closet." Sam turns to Matt, "Okay, we've gotta lock this place up, come on - doors, windows, fireplace, everything, okay?" They go upstairs. "Phones are dead." Joanie calls out, "They must have chewed through the phone lines." He beings putting towels at the base of the front door when the power goes out. "And the power lines." Maeve replies, "I need my cell." He picks up his cell phone. "No signal." Larry breaths out with a frown on his face, "You won't get one. They're blanketing the house." Millions of bugs begin collecting on the doors and windows, covering the entire building. The six of them watch, waiting. "So what do we do now?" Larry asks the trio, looking between them with a horrified look. "We try to outlast it. Hopefully, the curse will end at sunrise." Maeve shoots Sam a pointed look as Larry scoffs. Hopefully?" In the kitchen, Dean searches the cabinets. He finds a can of bug spray and returns to the living room. "Bug spray?"

"Trust me." They hear a creaking noise coming from somewhere around the fireplace. "What is that?" Matt asks, looking towards the trio of trouble. "The flue." Sam mutters sarcastically, "All right, I think everybody needs to get upstairs." Suddenly, hundreds of thousands of bugs come into the living room, swarming all around them. They scream and try to protect themselves. Dean uses a lighter with the can of bug spray to make it flare up. The flame wards some of the bugs away for the moment, but it didn't last long. "All right, everybody upstairs! Now! Go, go, go!" They go upstairs with them into the attic, and Sam closes the door. After a moment of being in the attic, sawdust begins to fall from the ceiling. The buzz of the bees gets louder, "Oh, God, what's that?" Joanie cries out in horror, "Something's eating through the wood." Dean mutters out with a frown on his face. "Termites." Matt and Maeve speak together.

"All right, everybody get back. Get back, get back, get back!" The three Pikes move as far into the corner of the attic as they can. A second later, the bugs chew a hole through the ceiling and swarm around the room. Sam and Dean frantically try to patch up the hole in the ceiling, but this only works for a minute. Soon, two more holes are chewed, and while Dean tries to ward them off with bug spray, nothing seems to work. The five of them stand in the corner, trying desperately to swat the bugs away for a few minutes. Medusa turns to Sam, "Sam, I need you to cover me. Make sure Dean doesn't see this." Sam nods in response as he pulls his brother over to protect the family.

Maeve pulls out her pen and with a hiss, she burns off another rune from her right arm. She winces in pain, her eyes glowing as she holds up her hands, using them to keep the bugs away. Sam turns his head to watch her in awe, neither of them noticing Dean watching as well, the sun rises. Miraculously, the bugs start to leave through the hole in the ceiling. Confused, Sam and Dean go to see what happened; Dean frowns at Maeve is standing in the middle of the attic. He would be questioning her about this later, his eyes bored into the side of her face as she keeps her eyes away from him. Letting out a sigh, Dean looks through the hole with them, they can see the bugs in the sky, near the sun, in one enormous colony. The five of them continue watching, relieved.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 π’…π’‚π’š, the trio walk over as the sun rises over the horizon and they approach Larry, who is placing boxes into a moving van. "What, no goodbye?" Dean asks with a smile, "Good timing. Another hour and we'd have been gone." He shakes both their hands, "For good?" Sam asks, the three of them all say goodbye to the family. "Yeah. The development's been put on hold while the government investigates those bones you found. But I'm gonna make damn sure no one lives here again." Larry replies with a small smile, "You don't seem too upset about it." Sam responds, a laugh of his own. "Well, this has been the biggest financial disaster of my career, but..." He looks over at Matt, who is carrying a box to the garbage, "...somehow, I really don't care." They share a smile. Sam walks over to Matt, who is throwing away all his insect paraphernalia. "What's this?"

"I don't know. They kind of weird me out now." They both laugh, "Yeah, I should hope so." A few minutes later, Sam joins Maeve and Dean by the car. They watch Larry and Matt, who are now getting along very well. "I wanna find Dad." Sam starts off, Maeve moving to get into the car; giving the boys a few moments together. "Yeah, me too." Dean responds, "Yeah, but I just... I want to apologize to him." Sam states, his eyes moving downwards as a sad look crosses his face. "For what?" Dean asks with a cock of his head and a frown, "All the things I said to him. He was just doin' the best he could." Maeve tries to not make it obvious that she was eavesdropping. "Well, don't worry, we'll find him. And then you'll apologize. And then within five minutes, you guys will be at each other's throats." Sam laughs, "Yeah, probably." They sit in silence for a few seconds. "Let's hit the road."

"Let's." They get in the car, giving one last wave to Larry and Matt, and drive away. Dean makes eye contact with Maeve who gives him a smile in response. He didn't return it, as his thoughts go back to what he had witnessed in the attic, and the fact that his brother seemed to know all about it.
