"Medusa..." The word was drawn out as she moved around the temple. Another man, another fight, another ending. She was so done with all the death, all the ugly, all the hate she felt for herself. "Come out, come out, where ever you are..." She frowned when the voice started to change, it was still a male's voice but different. She slowly leans out to look, her tail slithering around to keep her back a little. "Who are you?" She spoke up, her eyes zeroing in on a figure standing shrouded in darkness. "I'm your savior, of course." His voice sent chills down her spine as everything slowly started to fade away. "Maeve." The figure moved forward a step and she could finally see his eyes. "Maeve, sweetheart." His glowing red eyes, she gasps lightly and backs away in fear. "Wake up!" He shouts at her.

Maeve lets out a scream of horror as she shoots up from the bed, her body thrashing as Dean grips onto her. "Maeve! Easy! Maeve, you're okay!" It was both Dean and Sam speaking together, Dean was holding her; trying to rock her into a calmness while Sam sits in front of her; letting her know that she was no longer dreaming. Another sob echoes throughout the room as she finally settles down, her head turning into Dean's chest as he continues to shush her. Sam makes eye contact with Dean, both boys worried about her; it had been a long while since she's had a nightmare. What brought it on? Was she okay? Could they ask what it was about? Those questions rang through their minds as they continued to try and calm her down a little more.

𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆 π’…π’‚π’šπ’” 𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 town, another hunt, Maeve, Dean and Sam are dressed as Sheriffs and a deputy. They are currently talking to the boy and his mother. "I know you're just doing your job, but the police have been here all week already. I don't see why we have to go through this again. The more he tells the story, the more he believes it's true." The mother laughs lightly, "Mrs. McKay, we know you spoke with the local authorities." Sam speaks up, raising a brow at the woman who nods. The guys take off their hats, Maeve rolls her eyes at their dramatics. "But, uh, this seems like a matter for the state police, so..." Dean gives her a small smile, "Don't worry about how crazy it sounds, Evan. You just tell us what you saw." Sam speaks towards the little boy who was staring up at Maeve in awe. Dean smirks proudly at the boy, he's got great taste. "I was up late, watching TV. When I heard this weird noise." The trio make eye contact with each other. "What did it sound like?" Dean asked the little boy, "It sounded like...a monster." They exchange a look, as the mother laughs awkwardly.

"Tell the officers what you were watching on TV." The boy hesitated before speaking up, "Godzilla Vs. Mothra." Dean smiles and Maeve shakes her head adoringly looking towards her boyfriend with a smile. He was such a dork, the perfect man. Dorky, loving, hot as hell, loves to eat and cuddle, sometimes at the same time. Plus, he was a great lover, Maeve was lucky as hell to have a man like Dean Winchester, she just hoped to god he wouldn't realize what monster she truly was; she didn't want this happiness to disappear. Dean perks up excitedly, "That's my favorite Godzilla movie. It's so much better than the original, huh?" Evan smiles up at Dean in agreement. "Totally." The mother raises a brow, her face pulling into an annoyed expression. "Yeah." He nods towards Sam. "He likes the remake." Evan grimaces in disgust, Maeve snorts lightly. "Yuck!" Sam glares at Dean and clears his throat. Dean stops, a small pout on his lips. "Evan, did you see what this thing was?" Maeve speaks up, changing the subject back to the main point.

"No. But I saw it grab Mr. Jenkins. It pulled him underneath the car." Evan explains to them, "Then what?" Sam questions, knowing there was something more to his story. "It took him away. I heard the monster leaving. It made this really scary sound." Evan breathed out, slightly shivering as he remembered the noise. "What did it sound like, Evan?" Dean and Maeve spoke up together, their voices gentle to calm the boy. "Like this...whining growl." They all exchange another look, before silently agreeing it was time to go. "Thanks for your time."

𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 π’π’Šπ’ˆπ’‰π’•, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’•π’“π’Šπ’ sit in a bar/restaurant, Maeve is enjoying her boyfriend's burger and fries. Sam is having a beer at a table, looking at research. Dean is nearby, throwing darts, very much trying to impress the woman he loves who was watching him while she ate. She really was perfect for him, "So, local police have now ruled out foul play. Apparently, there are worse signs of a struggle." Sam speaks up, Maeve turns to face him with a raised brow as she shoves another fry in her mouth. "Well, they could be right, it could just be a kidnapping. Maybe this isn't our kind of gig." Dean utters out, throwing one last dart; hitting dead center. "Yeah, maybe not. Except for thisβ€”Dad marked the area, Dean." Dean comes to the table and looks at their father's journal. "Possible hunting grounds of a phantom attacker." Dean sits down next to Maeve, placing his hand on her lower back as he leans forward a little to look. "Why would he even do that?" Dean asks, raising a brow towards his brother. "Well, he found a lot of local folklore about a dark figure that comes out at night. Grabs people, then vanishes. He found this tooβ€”this county has more missing persons per capita than anywhere else in the state."

"That is weird." Maeve utters out, her mouth filled with another fry. Dean and Sam shoot her funny looks, "Yeah." Sam grunts out, "Don't phantom attackers usually snatch people from their beds? Jenkins was taken from a parking lot." Dean explains to them. "Well, there are all kinds. You know, Springhill Jacks, phantom gassers. They take people anywhere, anytime. Look, Dean, I don't know if this is our kind of gig either." Sam breaths out, "Yeah, you're right, we should ask around more tomorrow." Dean nods, "Right." He takes out his wallet. "I saw a motel about five miles back." Sam goes to throw money on the table but Maeve shakes her head at him. "Whoa, whoa, easy. Let's have another round." Dean speaks up, thinking Maeve was stopping him for that reason. She wanted to pay, that was the reason she shook her head. They always paid for her so she wanted to this time, "We should get an early start." Sam insisted, shooting his brother a smile.

"Yeah, you really know how to have fun, don't you, Grandma?" Sam smiles, Maeve leans forward. "Come on, Dean. It's been a while since we've shared a room alone." She raised a brow towards him with a teasing smirk as Dean gulps. He nods, Sam rolls his eyes and Maeve laughs gently. "Alright, I'll meet you outside, I gotta take a leak." He grabs his coat, giving Maeve a kiss and heads to the bathroom. Sam gathers his research, "I really wish you two didn't flirt while I was around." He grumbles as she places some money on the table and follows after Sam with a light skip in her step. "Come on, Sammy. Don't be jealous. You should be glad we have the relationship we have." Maeve tells him as she bumps his shoulder with hers. Sam smiles despite himself, "Yeah, I guess that's true. Thank you, for making him happy." She smiles softly, "He makes me happy." They are walking up to the car when they hear a noise and stop.

He places the journal on the hood of the car and takes out a flashlight from his coat pocket. "Sam, I don't like this." Maeve speaks up as he turns it on and looks around, then bends down to look under the car. He sees a cat, which hisses at him then runs away. Maeve jumps when he jumps away from the cat, "Whoa!" He laughs at himself, Maeve smacking him on the back, her own heart pounding. He gets up, shaking his head, then waits by the car. The pair stand in silence for a moment, "Sam, do you..." Maeve is cut off, Sam turning to face her as she falls back unconscious into the arms of a stranger. "Hey!" Sam moves towards him, only for everything to fade to black as he was hit upside the head as well. "My this one sure is pretty, she's gonna be fun to hunt."

A few minutes later, Dean comes out of the bar and walks to the car. He was excited to get to the motel and cuddle with his girlfriend, sure sex was on the table, but he loves to cuddle with her. He never imagined he would get this much attention and happiness from a girl, even when he was with Cassie or Lisa; it never felt right. With Maeve, everything just fell into place, and he didn't care if she was some mythical creature. She was his, and he would kill anyone who got in the way of that. He walks up to the car, frowning when he sees that Sam and Maeve are missing, but notices the journal on the hood. Dean opens the car door and checks to see if they're inside, but is concerned to find that they aren't. He looks around, confused. A group of people come out of the bar, Dean looks over and quickly walks up to a biker and his girlfriend, who are clearly drunk. "Hey, you guys been outside, around here in the last hour or so?"

They shake their head and walk away. "Sam! Maeve!" He looks around frantically. "Sammy! Sweetheart!" He turns around and notices a surveillance camera on top of a streetlight. Dean walks into the middle of the deserted road and looks around. "Sam. Maeve." Dean calls for them one last time before he rushes towards his impala. He had an idea, he was going to get his girlfriend and brother back.

No matter the cost.

An hour later, Dean enters the police department, going up to the main desk where a Deputy, Kathleen is looking at Dean's fake ID. "So, what can we do for you, Officer Washington?" She asks, looking up at him with a raised eyebrow. Her face tense, she wasn't fully sure she believed this man. "I'm working a missing persons." Dean starts speaking, "I didn't know the Jenkins case was being covered by the state police." Kathleen speaks up, cocking her head to the side in confusion. "Oh, no. No, there's someone else. Actually, it's my cousin and my girlfriend. We were havin' a few last night at this bar down by the highway. And I haven't seen them since." Kathleen raises a brow at his words, "Does your cousin or girlfriend have a drinking problem?" Kathleen asks, "Sam? Two beers and he's doin' karaoke." Kathleen smiles, sarcastically, Dean clears his throat. "No, he wasn't drunk. He was taken." Kathleen nods and sits down at her computer, "I have to ask, are you sure they didn't run off together? It hap..." Dean follows her and shakes his head, immediately interrupting her. "No. Not even close, my brother wouldn't do that and Maeve... Maeve. I know she loves me just as much as I love her."

The woman smiles at his words, "She's lucky." Kathleen utters out, Dean shakes his head. "No, I'm the lucky one." Dean breathes out, "Alright. What's their names?" Kathleen asks, a small smile on her face; even if she didn't believe him about the whole cop story, she could tell he loves them both very much. "Winchester. Sam Winchester." Dean starts with his brother, "Like the rifle?" Kathleen asks, "Like the rifle." Kathleen types Sam's name in the computer and brings up his police record. She observes the page, then clicks on Dean's link and brings up his record. "Samuel Winchester. So, you know that his brother, Dean Winchester, died in St. Louis. And, uh, was suspected of murder." Dean tries to look nonchalant. "Yeah, Dean. Kind of the black sheep of the family. Handsome, though." He really couldn't help boost his own ego, if Maeve was here; she'd smile but smack him for it. He smiles at the thought, he really wanted one of her smiles right now. "Uh-huh." She types something else and brings up more search results on the computer. "Well, he's not showing up in any current field reports. What about your girlfriend?"

Dean clears his throat, it's not that he didn't want to see if she was in the system; but he knew she wouldn't be. She didn't have a last name, she was a historically mythical supernatural creature who has been around for hundreds of years. He knew for a fact that she lays low, being with them was probably the most out she's ever been. She had told him stories and Sam had even tried looking her up, nothing but her legend. God, he couldn't believe he was dating a goddess. She sure as hell fit the description of one, man, her body. Kathleen clears her throat at the man as she takes notice of his far away look on his face. He blinks and clears his throat with a small blush, licking his suddenly dry lips. Man, he really wanted Maeve back in his arms. "Oh, I already have a lead. I saw a surveillance camera by the highway." Kathleen glares slightly at his change of subject, "Uh-huh. The county traffic cam?" She asks, raising a brow at him. "Right. Yeah. I'm thinking the camera picked up whatever took them. Or, whoever." Dean insisted, "Well, I have access to the traffic cam footage down at the county works department, butβ€”well, anyhow, let's do this the right way." She stands up and gets some paperwork from a filing cabinet.

"Why don't you fill out a missing persons report and sit tight over here?" She hands him a clipboard, he stops. "Officer, look, uh, he's family and she's the woman I love. I kind ofβ€”I kind of look out for them. You gotta let me go with you." Dean insists, his voice softens as he thinks about the two people he cares about being hurt or worse, dead. "I'm sorry, I can't do that." Kathleen sighs with a shake of her head, she felt bad for the guy but that didn't mean she trusted him enough to let him go riding around with her. "Well, tell me something. Your county has its fair share of missing persons. Any of 'em come back?" Kathleen looks sad. "Sam's my responsibility. And he's comin' back. I'm bringin' him back and Maeve, well, I've never been with a woman like I have with her. I only met her almost a year ago but she is the most important thing to me other than my brother. They need me. Please." She stares at him.

"These traffic cams take an image every three seconds, as part of the Amber Alert program. These images were all taken around the time that your cousin, Sam, and girlfriend, disappeared." She explains to him, Dean sighs in annoyance. "This really isn't what I'm looking for." Kathleen nods, she knew it wasn't what he was looking for, but she had more. "Just wait, waitβ€”next one." He turns the page and sees an image of a rusty truck driving. "This one was taken right after Sam and Maeve left the bar. Look at the back end of that thing. Now, look at the plates." Dean turns another page and sees a close-up image of the truck's license plates. "Oh, the plates look new. It's probably stolen." Kathleen nods in agreement to his statement. "So, whoever's driving that rust bucket must be involved." A beat-up van drives by.

It's engine is whining loudly, Dean raises a brow at the sound. "Hear that engine?" Dean asks, "Yeah." Kathleen murmurs back with a frown of confusion. "Kind of a whining growl, isn't it?" He asks, "Sure." Dean stares at the van as it drives away. He then mutters to himself as his eyes widen in realization. "I'll be damned."

A voice screaming her name in the very back of her mind, it sounded familiar. "You're alive." The man groans again, Sam raises a brow. "Hey, you okay?" Maeve finally moves forward, her headache slowly going away. Sam gives her a small smile and a quick hug, glad she was okay; both silently checking one another over for injuries. "Does it look like I'm doin' okay?" The man snips, breaking the duo out of their silent communication. "Where are we?" Maeve asks, taking a quick look around the dark area. "I don't know. The country, I think. Smells like the country." Sam frowns at the man, cocking his head slightly as his eyes finally widen in recognition. "You're Alvin Jenkins, aren't you?" Maeve looks over as well in reaction, "Yeah." Sam sighs in response with a shake of his head. "We were lookin' for ya."

"Oh, yeah?" The man scoffs, Maeve rolls her eyes at him. He was totally a dick, "Yeah." Maeve draws out dryly with a glare. "Well, no offense, but this is a piss-poor rescue." He snarled back in annoyance, "Well, my brother's out there right now, too. He's lookin' for us. So..." Jenkins interrupted Sam with a sarcastic laugh, "So, he's not gonna find us. We're in the middle of nowhere." He nods towards the door leading into the building. "Waiting for them to come back and do God-knows-what to us." Jenkins explains, "What are they? Have you seen them?" Sam and Maeve questioned together, their eyes curious as to what they were currently up against. "What are you talking about?" Jenkins asks, his face pulling into one of confusion as well. "Whatever's got us, what'd they look like?" Sam responds, "See for yourself." The door to the building opens and two men wearing black coats and hats walk in. One man walks over to Jenkins' cage and kicks the side of it, he moves back into the corner. The other man goes to a panel of buttons attached to a pole in the middle of the room. He inserts a key into the panel and twists it. Jenkins' cage unlocks and the men enter, Sam and Maeve watch with wide eyes in disbelief. "Leave me alone! Don't you take me, leave me alone!"

The men place a plate of food in front of Jenkins. They leave the cage and walk over to the panel. One of the men twists the key again and removes it, which locks the cage. They leave, and Jenkins starts to devour his food, Sam and Maeve make eye contact in shock and realization. "I'll be damned. They're just people." Maeve shivers at his words, her body moving to the back of the cage. Even though she was a mythical monster, nothing scared her more than humans like this. She has gone up against Greek Gods, and they still couldn't shake her as much as humans like these. "Yeah. What'd you expect?" Jenkins asks with a scoff and laugh, "How often do they feed you?" Maeve asks, her head leaned back against the bars as she stares up at the ceiling. "Once a day. And they use that thing over there to open the cage." He points to the panel.

"And that's the only time you see 'em?" Maeve asks him, making eye contact with Sam. "So far. But I'm waitin'." Jenkins replies, "Waitin' for what?" Sam speaks up this time, his face pulled into a permanent frown. "Ned Beatty time, man." Jenkins shrugs, "I think that's the least of your worries right now." Maeve grunts out with a scoff, "Oh, yeah?" Jenkins asks with another sarcastic laugh that made Maeve want to punch him in his teeth. "Yeah." She replies with a glare in his direction. "What do you think they want, then?" Sam reaches through the top of their cage and grabs a long metal wire stretching from the top of the pole to the ground. Maeve immediately moves to help him try to pull it down, "Depends on who they are." Sam responds, "They're a bunch of psycho hillbilly rednecks, if you ask me. Lookin' for love in all the wrong places." Maeve and Sam continue to pull on the wire, It gradually starts to detach from the pole.

Dean nods in agreement, "So, it must've pulled off somewhere. I didn't see any other roads here." He continues for her, a permanent frown of worry on his face. "Well, a lot of these backwoods properties have their own private roads." Dean grows annoyed, "Great." He stares out the window, new information comes up on Kathleen's computer. She clicks the highlighted item and brings up a page about Dean's fake ID. She reads it and looks concerned, then glances towards Dean. "So, Gregory." Dean turns to look at her, "Yeah?" He asks, his mind reeling slightly as his head pounds from the voice. "I ran your badge number. It's routine when we're working a case with state police. For accounting purposes and what have you."

"Mmhmm." He hums absently, "And, uh, they just got back to me." She pulls the car over to the side of the road. "It says here your badge was stolen." Dean looks surprised, momentarily forgetting that he gave her a fake name and badge number. "And there's a picture of you." She turns the computer to Dean. He sees a picture of a heavy African-American man, if Maeve was here; she would've snorted in amusement. "I lost some weight." He chuckles lightly, "And I got that Michael Jackson skin disease." Kathleen scoffs, before she takes off her seatbelt. "Okay, would you step out of the car, please?" Dean's eyes widened in horror, "Look, look, look." She stops. "If you wanna arrest me, that's fine. I'll cooperate, I swear. But, first, pleaseβ€”let me find Sam and Maeve." Dean tries to reason with her, "I don't even know who you are. Or if this Sam and Maeve people are missing." Kathleen snips with a glare, "Look into my eyes and tell me if I'm lying about this."

"Identity theft? You're impersonating an officer." She snarls, "Look, here's the thing. When we were young, I pretty much pulled him from a fire. And ever since then, I've felt responsible for him. Like it's my job to keep them safe. I'm just afraid if we don't find them fastβ€”please." His voice breaks, "He's my family and she's my everything." He breathes out gently, his eyes tearing up slightly. "I'm sorry. You've given me no choice. I have to take you in." She glances at her visor. Her eye catches a photo of her and another man, smiling. She looks sad and sighs. "After we find Sam Winchester and Maeve." She fastens her seatbelt, Dean looks confused before feeling relieved.

π‘©π’‚π’„π’Œ π’Šπ’ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 unknown location, Sam is still trying to pull the metal coil from the beam. Maeve had given up, realizing that she wasn't doing much of anything other than getting in his way. "What are your names, again?" Jenkins asked the duo, "It's Sam and this is Maeve." Sam speaks up, his voice straining lightly as he continues to pull. "Why don't you give it up, Sammy, there's no way out." Maeve smirks lightly, he will definitely have something to say about that. "Don't... call me... Sammy!" He groans and finally tears the coil down. A small piece of metal falls on the floor also, "What is it?" Sam picks it up and looks at it. "It's a bracket." Maeve speaks up, Sam hands it to her so she could observe it. "Well, thank God, a bracket. Now we've got 'em, huh?" Suddenly, Jenkins' cage unlocks itself and opens. "Must've been short." He climbs out of the cage, "Maybe you knocked somethin' loose." Maeve slowly shakes her head as Sam moves to the front of their cage. His hands grabbing the bars to watch Jenkins move around, "I think you should get back in there, Jenkins."

"What?" Jenkins asks with a scoff, "This isn't right." Sam insists. The fact that it was suddenly opened was super suspicious and Sam was certain it wasn't because of what he did. "Don't you wanna get out of here?" Jenkins asked the pair, "Yeah. But that was too easy." Maeve speaks up, he scoffs again with an eye roll. "Look, I'm gonna get out of here, and I'm gonna send help, okay, don't worry." Jenkins gives them a small smirk, "No, we're serious. Jenkinsβ€”this might be a trap." Sam continues to try and stop him, but it doesn't work. "Bye, Sammy." He pushes open the door and leaves. "Jenkins!" Not even five minutes later, Sam and Maeve flinch when they hear Jenkins scream. Sam makes eye contact with Maeve, both of them extremely worried about how they were going to survive this problem. "You know, I can probably get us out." Maeve starts, giving Sam a look who immediately shakes his head. "No, we should wait. I don't want you to exhaust yourself if you don't have too, we'll find a way out without you having to use your powers. Besides, I see the way you react to using them, you hate yourself for having to do it. Stick to human activities, we'll be just fine and I know Dean will find us." Maeve smiles at Sam and nods back, tears slightly coming to the surface. He was really like a brother to her, and she couldn't have asked for a better one. It reminded her of Apollo, while neither were her actual blood related brothers; she still couldn't see them as anything other than that.

"Thank you, Sam."

She snips, "Right. I was wonderingβ€”why are you helping me out, anyway? Why don't you just lock me up?" Dean asks, raising a brow towards her. "My brother, Riley, disappeared three years ago. A lot like Sam. We searched for him, butβ€”nothing. I know what it's like to feel responsible for someone, and for themβ€”Come on. Let's keep at it." She gets in the car, Dean climbs in after her before they take off again. Thirty minutes later, they pass the edge of the forest, as they do, Dean frowns. "Wait, wait, waitβ€”pull over here. Pull over." They pull over and get out of the car, then walk towards the forest. "It's the first turn-off I've seen so far." He says, Kathleen nods gently as she turns back to face him. "You stay here, I'll check it out." She demands, Dean scoffs back in response. "No way." He snips, he wasn't about to sit back if Maeve and Sam needed him.

"Hey." They stop walking, "You're a civilian. And a felon, I think. I'm not taking you with me." Kathleen glares at him, "You're not goin' without me." Dean snips back in determination and annoyance, she sighs. "Alright. You promise you won't get involved? You'll let me handle it?" She asks, raising a brow towards him. He nods, "Yeah, I promise." He lies, no way in hell was he going to let her handle this one alone. "Shake on it." She extends her hand, Dean shakes it. While they are shaking hands, Kathleen places a set of handcuffs on Dean's arm. "Oh, come on." She handcuffs Dean to the door handle and starts walking away. "This is ridiculous. Kathleen, I really think you're gonna need my help." She turns back towards him with a scoff, "I'll manage. Thank you." She locks the door and walks away. "I gotta start carrying paper clips." Dean mutters to himself in annoyance.

Kathleen makes her way down the gravel road. She passes a rundown barn, along with several wagon wheels strewn along the grass. She walks further and sees a dilapidated house. She makes her way to the front porch and climbs up the stairs. "Hello? Anybody home?" She knocks on the door. A young girl, comes outside, covered in dirt and filth. She is unwashed and has long, uncombed hair. "Hi. Who are you?" The girl comes closer and examines Kathleen's badge. "Who are you?" The young girl asks, looking up at the woman. "I'm, uh, I'm Kathleen. I'm a Deputy. What's your name?" Kathleen smiles at her, slightly bending down to face the little girl better. "Missy." Missy replies, "Missy. That's a pretty name. Missy, is your mom home?" Kathleen asks, trying to look a little further in the house. "She's dead." Missy responds, "I'm sorry. What about your dad?" Missy shakes her head. "No? Can I come in for a minute?" Missy shakes her head again and starts moving towards the door. "I just want you to look at a picture."

She takes a picture of Sam from her coat pocket and shows it to Missy. "Have you seen that guy? He's with a woman as well, will you look at that picture." Missy looks up and sees something behind Kathleen before she smiles wickedly. "What?" Kathleen asks, "That's gonna hurt." She turns around and sees a tall, equally unwashed man, standing beside her. He hits her in the head with a shovel, and she falls to the ground, unconscious. "Missy, sweetheart, go tell your brothers I wanna see 'em." The man demands, staring down at the now unconscious woman. "Yes, Daddy." She walks away. Back at the car, Dean is looking around for something to unlock the handcuffs. He finally notices the antenna of the car and reaches for it, but he is too far away. He hears the screech of the pickup truck, "Oh, son of a bitch." He stretches further, still reaching for the antenna. He finally grabs the antenna and begins to unscrew it. The antenna comes loose and falls to the ground. Dean picks it up and begins unlocking the handcuffs. Two men reach a clearing and see the car, they laugh, luckily Dean was already gone into the woods, hiding.

The door opens and Dean enters, but they don't know it's him. Dean observes the barn, disgusted, he finally sees Sam and Maeve in their cage. "Sam? Maeve, sweetheart?" Dean breaths out as he comes towards their cage, Maeve and Sam smiling. "Are you hurt?" The duo shake their heads as Dean grabs for Maeve's hand through the cage. He pulls it up to his lips, "No." she breaths out, Sam watches with a small smile. "Damn, it's good to see you." Dean grumbles out, turning to face his brother with a smile. "How did you get out of the cuffs?" Kathleen speaks up, Dean turns around and sees her.

"Oh, I know a trick or two." She stares at him, confused. "Alright." He moves to the door of the cage and sees the locks. "Oh, these locks look like they're gonna be a bitch." Maeve smiles as he shoots her a wink, "Well, there's some kind of automatic control right there." He points to the control panel, Dean moves over to it. He turns back to them for a moment, "Have you seen 'em?" He asks the duo sitting in the cage, "Yeah. Dude, they're just people." Sam breaths out, Dean nods along; glad his suspicions have been confirmed. "And they jumped you? Must be gettin' a little rusty there, kiddo." He teases as he moves closer to the control panel and starts trying different buttons. "What do they want?" Dean asks, a frown on his face. "We don't know. They let Jenkins go, but that was some sort of trap. It doesn't make any sense to me." Sam explains to his brother, "Well, that's the point. You know, with our usual playmates, there's rules, there's patterns. But with people, they're just crazy." Dean replies, Maeve silently agreeing with her boyfriend. "See anything else out there?"

"Uh, he has about a dozen junked cars hidden out back. Plates from all over, so I'm thinkin' when they take someone, they take their car, too." Dean explains to everyone, "Did you see a black Mustang out there? About ten years old?" Kathleen suddenly asks, her face filled with hope and a hint of sadness. "Yeah, actually, I did." She looks down in disappointment, "Your brother's?" She nods, "I'm sorry." He pauses. "Let's get you guys out of here, then we'll take care of those bastards." He points to the control panel. "This thing takes a key. Key?" He spins around to face the duo who had been there the longest. They both shrug and shake their heads, "I don't know." Dean nods with a sigh. "Alright, I better go find it." He goes to leave, "Hey." Dean stops and turns around. "Be careful." Sam and Maeve speak in unison, Dean gives them both a smirk. "Yeah."

"Dean!" Maeve calls out, he stops again, turning to face her. She stares at him for a moment, "I love you." Sam turns to her with slightly wide eyes and a raised eyebrow, Dean immediately smiles, "I love you too, sweetheart. Don't worry, I'll be back, then we can make up for lost time." He leaves as Sam lets out a groan of disgust. Maeve laughs and pushes Sam gently, he laughs after a moment. Kathleen watches them with a small cock of her head, she could tell they were close, even after knowing each other for just a year. Although, she could see the relationship between them, she couldn't help, but take notice of Sam's face when he looks at Maeve. That was going to be a problem in the future if he didn't take care of that.

The room is filled with shelves of jars and bottles, which contain various body parts. Dean looks at a container filled with an unrecognizable item. "Yikes." He keeps searching the room and comes across a wall full of Polaroid pictures. Each photo shows two men standing next to a dead body, He notices a picture of them holding Jenkins' corpse. "I'll say it againβ€”demons I get. People are crazy." He moves to a flight of stairs and climbs them. Dean comes upstairs and looks around the living room, a record is playing in the background. He sees a wooden pole leaning against the wall and picks it up. He leans against the wall and makes his way toward the kitchen. He notices a small tray filled with keys, on a nearby table. Dean takes a peak inside the kitchen, a man turns around to pick up another tool, and Dean turns away. He moves towards the tray of keys, and starts to pick it up when he notices a jar full of teeth. He examines it, disgusted, then hears the floor creak behind him. He sets the jar down and turns around quickly, only to stop short when he notices a little girl is standing before him.

"Shh. It's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you." She holds up a knife with a dark smirk, Dean's eyes widen in realization. "I know." She sticks the knife into Dean's jacket, pinning him against the wall. "Daddy!" She shouts, "Jeez!" Dean panics, he really needed to get out of here and quickly. "Daddy!" Dean removes the knife, the two men from the pictures come downstairs. "Daddy!" One quickly grabs Dean under his arms, the other walks towards them, but Dean jumps up and kicks him. The first man throws Dean into the wall, causing the knife to fall to the floor. The second runs towards Dean, but Dean grabs him first and pushes him to the ground. He then punches the first, but is thrown into the wall again by the second. All three of them stand up, Dean points to the first man with a cocky look on his face. "I'm gonna kick your ass first." He points to the other one, "Then yours." Only he couldn't, when the man from the kitchen comes up behind Dean and hits him over the head with a pan. Dean falls to the floor, unconscious.

In the living room, The Benders are crowded around Dean, who is sitting in a chair, with his hands tied behind his back. He wakes up, groaning. "Come on. Let us hunt him." The younger man groans out, "Yeah, this one's a fighter. Sure would be fun to hunt." The father, Dean assumes, laughs. "Oh, you gotta be kiddin' me. That's what this is about? You yahoos hunt people?" Dean asks with a disgusted look on his face. "You ever killed before?" The Father asks, leaning down to face Dean who leans back with a wince of disgust. "Well, that depends on what you mean." Dean responds, "I've hunted all my life. Just like my father, his before him. I've hunted deer and bearβ€”I even got a cougar once. But the best hunt is human. Oh, there's nothin' like it. Holdin' their life in your hands. Seein' the fear in their eyes just before they go dark. Makes you feel powerful alive." They stare at one another for a long moment, "You're a sick puppy." Dean speaks up after a moment. "We give 'em a weapon. Give 'em a fightin' chance. It's kind of like our tradition passed down, father to son. Of course, only one or two a year. Never enough to bring the law down, we never been that sloppy."

"Yeah, well, don't sell yourself short. You're plenty sloppy." Dean smirks smugly, "So, what, you with that pretty cop? Are you a cop?" The Father asks, raising a brow. "If I tell you, you promise not to make me into an ashtray?" He looks angry, so one of his lovely sons, walks over and punches Dean. "Only reason I don't let my boys take you right here and now is that there's somethin' I need to know." He walks to the fireplace and takes a hot poker. "Yeah, how 'bout it's not nice to marry your sister?" Dean snips, they all give him a glare. "Tell meβ€”any of the cops gonna come lookin' for you?" The Father asks, turning to face him with a smirk. "Oh, eat me. No, no, no, wait, waitβ€”you actually might." The older one walks over to Dean and holds his head in place. "You think this is funny? You brought this down on my family. Alright, you wanna play games? We'll play some games. Looks like we're gonna have a hunt tonight after all, boys." He looks back to Dean, "And you get to pick the animal. The couple or the cop?"

"Okay, wait, waitβ€”look, nobody's comin' for me, alright? It's just us." Dean replies, "You don't choose, I will." He places the hot poker on Dean's shirt. Dean screams in pain and he removes the poker. "Oh, you son of a bitch!" He places the poker barely an inch from Dean's eye. "Next time, I'll take an eye." The Father hissed, "Alright, the couple, the couple! Take the couple!" The man lets go of Dean's head, and the father moves the poker. He takes a key from around his neck and hands it to the youngest son. "Lee, go do it. Don't let them out, though. shoot them in the cage." Lee walks to the door. "What? I thought you said you were gonna hunt them. You were gonna give them a chance." Dean panics, his eyes widening in horror. Sam! Maeve! "Lee, when you're done with the boyβ€”shoot the other bitch, too." Lee nods and leaves, with his rifle. "Better clean this mess up before any more cops come runnin' out here." Dean looks scared for a moment, but calms when he finally starts to listen to the voice in his head. They were going to be just fine, Maeve was going to be just fine.

Sam notices the bracket on the floor and grabs it. Lee opens the cage door and aims his gun, he lets out a pained shout when Maeve's leg comes flying out right into his knee. He falls back, letting Sam and Maeve moves out, she takes hold of his gun just as it goes off. Snatching it from his hand, she throws it to Sam before turning to face him. He stares up at her with a smirk, she grabs him by the collar and leans down to whisper something in his ear. He freezes, as she slowly leans back, her eyes glow green and his whole body turns to stone. Kathleen and Sam watch with wide eyes, Sam's holding mild interest and Kathleen holding fear. "Come on. We gotta get out of here." She grunts, getting off his body and moving towards the key, opening up Kathleen's cage. "Are you okay?" Sam asks her, she gives him a small nod in response.

𝑰𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆, Dean flinches when he and the Benders can hear a gunshot. "You hurt my brother or my girl, I'll kill you, I swear. I'll kill you all. I will kill you all!" The Father stands up with a smirk and walks towards the open front door. "Lee! Lee!" Lee does not respond, so he turns to the other three. "Jared, you come with me. Missy, you watch him now." Jared grabs two rifles, hands one to the dad, and they both leave. Missy remains next to Dean, holding a knife dangerously close to his eye.

The duo make their way to the barn, they enter, guns raised, and look around. "Lee! Where are ya? Lee!" They find Lee in front of the cages, his body fully covered in stone. "Damn it, Jared, get the lights!" Jared moves over to the light switch and pushes it up. The barn remains dark, the men stare at Lee a little more. "How the hell is that even possible?" Jared asks, looking towards his father with wide eyes. Neither of them noticing the glowing green eyes behind them. "They must have blown the fuses." Pa tries the control panel, but it is broken. They move into another room of the barn, the father son pair hear a noise and look around in one area of the room, they separate. Kathleen moves to a cabinet, unseen, and opens it, but she hears a noise and stops. Jared hears her and walks to the cabinet and stands to face it. He fires his rifle several times at the doors, but no one comes out.

Jared opens the cabinet, but finds nothing inside but tools. He looks around the barn, when, suddenly Kathleen falls on top of his back. She wraps her arms around his neck and wrestles with him, before being knocked to the ground. Meanwhile, Pa is chasing after Sam and Maeve, he fires his rifle twice, but Sam escapes. Maeve, however, manages to make her way back around to Kathleen and Jared who aims his gun at her. "You stupid bitch." He gets ready to shoot her, but Maeve taps him on the shoulder. As he turns, one of her hands grabs the rifle while the other goes under it to upper cut him in the mouth. Kathleen watches in awe as she throws the gun away, spin kicking him back. Sam and Pa make their way back inside the barn, just as Maeve grabs Jared, pulling him up; whispering something in his ear and turns him to stone. "Hey!" Pa yells out in horror as a stone Jared falls to the ground, smashing to pieces.

Pa yells again and moves to aim his gun towards her, but Sam appears behind him and grabs the gun. He hits Pa in the face with the rifle several times, he collapses, holding his face in pain. Kathleen moves over with one of the rifles she had picked up from one of the fallen brothers. Sam and Maeve watch her with raised eyebrows, "I'll watch this one. You go ahead." Sam stares at her, motionless. Maeve nods, and moves to leave, she needs to save Dean. "Go ahead." Sam leaves. "You hurt my family, I'm gonna bleed you, bitch!" Pa shouts after Maeve who doesn't even acknowledge him. Kathleen looks towards him with a glare, tears gathering in her eyes. "You killed my brother." She hissed at him, "Your brother?" He laughs cruelly. "Now, I see." He smirks up at her, "Just tell me why." Pa smiles, "Because it's fun." He cackles. Kathleen looks at him, horrified, and fires the gun.

π‘Ίπ’‚π’Ž 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒆𝒗𝒆 π’Žπ’‚π’Œπ’† their way inside the house, Maeve quietly sneaks up behind the little girl and hits her upside the head. Dean watches with a small laugh as Sam drags her to a near by closet and shoves her inside. "Man, am I glad to see you two." Dean breaths out, Maeve quickly moves to help undo his bindings. He smirks up at her, giving her a peck on the lips, he smiles up at her happily. "I'm glad you're okay." She breaths out, Dean stands and moves to give his brother a hug. "Same." Maeve, Dean and Sam walk out the front door and down the porch steps. They meet up with Kathleen, who is leaving the barn. "Where's the girl?" She asks the trio, "Locked her in a closet. What about the dad?" She pauses, speaking up and lying to them. "Shot. Trying to escape." All three of them exchange a look. "And the others?" Dean asked, Kathleen and Sam turn to Maeve who sighs. "I took care of them." She tells him, he raises a brow, looking towards his brother who gives him a small smile. He looks back towards Maeve, giving her a nod. "Okay."

A little while later, Maeve, Dean, Sam, and Kathleen are leaving. "I think the car's at the police station." Kathleen is listening to a woman on her walkie-talkie. "Backup unit en route to your location." Kathleen moves closer to the trio, "So, state police and the FBI are gonna be here within the hour. They're gonna wanna talk to you. I suggest that you're both long gone by then." She gives them a raised eyebrow, "Thanks. Hey, listen, I don't mean to press our luck, but we're kind of in the middle of nowhere. Think we could catch a ride?" She starts laughing at him, Dean frowns in annoyance. "Start walking. Duck if you see a squad car." Sam laughs as well as he pats his brother on the shoulder. "Sounds great to me. Thanks." They move to leave, "Listen, uh...I'm sorry about your brother." Dean utters out lightly, Kathleen gives him a sad smile as Maeve stands silently behind them. "Thank you." She begins to tear up. "It was really hard not knowing what happened to him. I thought it would be easier once I knew the truthβ€”but it isn't really." She pauses. "Anyway, you should go." Maeve, Sam and Dean nod and walk away, Kathleen watches them leave, close to tears.

Down the road, Maeve is walking quietly as the brothers talk. "Never do that again." Dean grunts lightly, "Do what?" Maeve and Sam look towards Dean with curious eyes, "Go missin' like that." Sam laughs, Maeve smiles lightly, moving to give him a kiss. "You were worried about us." Sam teases, "All I'm sayin' is, you vanish like that again, I'm not lookin' for ya." Dean pushes his brother lightly, "Sure, you won't." Maeve gives him another smile, "I'm not." Sam chuckles, "So, you got sidelined by a thirteen-year-old girl, huh?" He asks Dean with a smirk, Maeve chuckles lowly as Dean grabs her hand pulling her closer to him. "Oh, shut up." Dean snips, "Just sayin', gettin' rusty there, kiddo." He shakes his head, chuckling. "Shut up." Sam laughs, they all fall into silence as they continue walking. "So, you gonna tell me what really happened to the other two guys?" Dean asks, Maeve flinches, tightening her grip on his hand as she comes to a stop. Sam moves a little further away to give them a moment. "I turned them to stone." She tells Dean, waiting for him to pull away from her in disgust. He frowns at her, "How?"

She sighs, "When the first rune was broken, I was able to access my ability to turn people into stone. It doesn't take up to much of my energy and it doesn't hurt m..." Dean interrupts her, "I don't care." She flinches at his words, her eyes tearing up, thinking he was going to reject her. "I thought we agreed, you wouldn't use your powers because they hurt you. Maeve, sweetheart, I love you, I don't want to see you hurt yourself because you are trying to save us. Please. You've told Sam and I that if you remove all your runes, you'll turn back. I don't want to lose you, so please try to not hurt yourself just for us." Maeve and Dean stare at each other for a moment, "He's right." Sam speaks up, "Don't hurt yourself because of us, your family. We love you." Maeve tears up at his words before throwing herself into Dean's chest. She sobs into his chest, as Dean kisses her on the head, he gives Sam a nod who nods back.

"It's okay, sweetheart. You're ok."
