Hello there.

I decided to watch the Owl House a couple weeks after the show ended to see for myself if it was as great as people were saying. IMO it's good. It has it's flaws and I feel people hyped it up too much, but good none the less. However, I came across a fan-art of an AU where Hunter was Luz's brother and, having gained an interest in writing recently, I decided to write a story about it.

The first three parts of the prologue have been written and now I just got to start on the main story. With that out of the way, let's jump right into it. Hope you enjoy what I've written.

Disclaimer: The Owl House is property of Disney. I don't claim ownership of it.

*Edit: I've decided to fix a few errors throughout the story that I've missed when writing and add some new things.*

A cloudy night covered the peaceful Boiling Isles, its citizens asleep with little disturbance on the streets. However, within a forest not too far from the town, a young adult with orange unkempt hair, freckles and magenta eyes ran through with complete urgency. He was wearing a dark yellow long-sleeved tunic with a golden-yellow short-sleeved shirt over it with a dark brown belt around it, black pants, dark brown gloves and boots. His uniform was covered by a large dark brown cloak he was wearing, with a staff slung around him. The figure was carrying with him a small blanket bundle close to his chest, which was his motivation for why he was running.

He approached a small clearing within the forest and began to look around. He was told someone was going to be here to help him, but when he saw that he was alone, he began to panic.

"Hello, is anyone here?" He said. "Please don't let this be a trap. Please don't let this be a trap." He thought.

Another cloaked figure, a bit smaller than him, appeared out of the bushes and approached him. The runaway gripped the blanket bundle a little tighter before catching his breath. "The door of the Titan is the key?" The runaway asked.

Flashback

The runaway was in his room, putting on his uniform in a rush. Having overheard what the emperor was going to do, he decided to take action. It didn't matter if he took him in under his wing after he was abandoned by his family, he would not allow the plans of the emperor to come true. Once he was finished, he grabbed his staff, ran and opened the door, and was greeted by a teenager with dark brown skin, bright green eyes, dark brown colored hair in a hair bun style. He was wearing a gray tunic with a dark gray belt, cowl, and boots, with his sleeves and leggings having a dark purple color.

"What are you doing?" The teen asked the runaway.

"Darius, I-I was just going to take a walk around the castle for a bit." He lied.

"At this time of the night?" Darius asked.

"Uh, yes. It'll help me relax after a long day, you know." He said.

Darius looked around the hallway, walked into the room and closed the door. The young adult was worried, Darius didn't buy his lie and now he was going to stop him. His hopes in stopping the emperor were starting to dwindle.

"William, what's really going on?" Darius said in concern of the runaway. "What are you trying to do?"

William stood nervously, Darius' gaze slowly chipped away at him. He was thinking on whether to tell the truth to Darius or try to lie his way out. He inhaled, "The truth is Darius, I'm trying to rescue a baby from Emperor Belos."

"Why would you do tha-" Darius said before William interrupted him.

"He is going to raise that baby in order to replace me. I'll be killed and that same baby will suffer at the hands of him." William finished. He then removed his top clothing, revealing horrible scars that ran across his chest and back, shocking the young Darius.

"You ever wonder how I got these? It's because of him. I'm begging you, please stay out of this. I don't want another soul to suffer." William said, tears were forming in his eyes.

Darius stood there for a moment processing everything his mentor told him. Normally he wouldn't believe such a thing, but he did provide proof of what he was saying, and knowing him personally, he wouldn't make up such a tale.

"William, let me help you." He said.

This caught William off guard, but gave him relief. Darius wasn't going to stop him, but he was willing to put himself in harm's way to help him. "Darius, I don't want you to get involved because you'll get in trouble with Belos. I already have a plan, just don't tell anyone about this." William said.

"What would that plan consist of?" Darius asked.

"I'll take the baby, travel as far away from here. I'll raise it as my own." William responded.

Darius sighed, "William, if I'm going to be honest, that is the worst plan I've ever heard." William looked at him confused. "One, Emperor Belos knows the Isles like the back of his hand. He'll find you no matter how far you travel. Two, if you do manage to escape, how are you going to take care of a baby? You two will end up dying." Darius said.

William stood there in shock. Darius was right, his plan would only bring the end of both him and the baby. He covered his face with his hands as tears began to run down his cheeks. "B-but I have to try. I can't just do nothing knowing that someone else will go through what I have."

"Which is why I'll help. I know someone who has access to a world where Belos can't go, the human realm." Darius said. His answer caused William to give him a surprised look.

"That's not possible." William said.

"It is, let's discuss what we're going to do." Darius said.

After explaining his plan, the two walked out of the room, ready to put it into motion.

William hugged Darius. "Thank you." He said.

"You're doing a brave act, William. I'm honored to have you as my mentor." Darius responded.

"I'm proud of you as well, Darius." William said. Before he left he asked Darius one last thing. "What was the answer to the phrase again?"

"The door of the Titan is the key..."

End of Flashback

"To where you want to be." The cloaked figure responded. William let out a sigh of relief and relaxed a little, Darius' contact pulled through. The cloaked figure pulled out a brown briefcase with a large yellow eye with a slit pupil in the center along with a key with a similar eye. William pulled down his hood and approached the figure. "Hello, Darius told me that you have a way to travel to the human realm." He said.

"I do, though we must make this quick. This portal belongs to a friend of mine, and she wants it back as soon as possible." The cloaked figure said.

"Okay, I'm ready." William said. As the cloaked figure laid the briefcase down, William heard footsteps coming towards the area off in the distance. He tensed up, those were the Emperor's Coven guards and he knew it won't be long til they find him. "Activate it now, they're coming!" He said fearfully.

The cloaked figure quickly pulled out the key and pressed the eye. The briefcase began to float mid-air where it unfolded itself three times, revealing a door with the same eye. It opened itself revealing a swirling black void with stars before clearing up and showing another wooded area at night. William stood there in awe, only to be brought back by the sounds of the footsteps getting closer.

"Quick, get in there and get the baby to safety." The figure said.

William nodded, held the baby tight, and jumped into the portal door. He landed safely and looked around at his surroundings. He was in another wooded area, though he was next to an abandoned house where the portal door was connected to it. He looked up at the sky and saw stars along with a crescent moon shining bright. He noticed a trail leading out of the woods. He ran down the path, which led him to a suburban neighborhood. He crouched down and hid in some bushes near a sidewalk and looked around at the peculiar houses. A thought occurred to him, he could abandon his life back in the Demon Realm and start a new life here in the human realm. What he was doing was high treason against Emperor Belos and he knew that he would be killed if he was caught. However, he thought of Darius' words from earlier. He wouldn't be able to adapt to this new world and could potentially end up killing both himself and the baby. Not only that, Emperor Belos would punish those who helped him and increase his efforts in finding him, potentially dooming this world if he manages to figure out a way here.

While looking around, William noticed a house nearby with the lights on and two silhouettes by a window. "Looks like I found a new home for you." He said. He pulled out a piece of paper and pencil and began to write. After he was done, he swiftly ran to the front porch of the house and laid the baby in front of the door. "Enjoy your new life, little one." He knocked on the door and ran back to the bushes. He hid as he watched a woman open the door, looked at the baby in shock and quickly took it in. Satisfied, William ran back to the portal door and jumped through.

Earlier

Inside the kitchen of the house, a Dominican woman with brown skin and straight hair and glasses was preparing dinner. Soon a Dominican man with the same skin color with short curly hair and a goatee walked into the kitchen. He smiled as he hugged the woman, surprising her.

"Something smells good in here, I can't tell whether it's the food or you, Camila." He said.

Camila chuckled at her husband's joke. "Oh Manny, always trying to bring a smile to my day." She said as she looked back at him. Manny let go and walked to the table. "Well you know me better than anyone, we have been married for a while now." He said as he sat down. "Is the food almost ready yet?"

"Only a couple stirs and that's it." Camila said as she stirred the pot on the stove. "Had a good day at work, my time as an veterinarian assistant is almost over. I'll get promoted to a new position soon." she said.

"Really? Well that's great." Manny said. "Good to see you moving up in the world." As he was preparing himself, he stopped when he heard something moving through the bushes outside the house. "Camila, did you hear that?"

"Heard what?" She said as she turned off the stove. Both of them were silent with Manny looking at the window, but heard nothing. "Probably just a squirrel running through the bushes." She said,

"No, it sounded bigger than a squirrel." He said. A knock was heard at the front door. "I'll get it. Who could be at the door at this time?" Camila said as she went to open it. "Camila, wait." Manny said.

She opened the door and found no one outside, until she looked down at the porch. She saw a bundle of blankets and knelt to unwrap it. What she saw shocked her, it was a baby with fair skin, ash blonde hair and, the most bizarre feature, pointed ears. It was wearing nothing but a diaper and sleeping peacefully.

"¡Ay dios mío, Manuel!" Camila said in a shocked state as she quickly picked up the infant and brought it in.

"¿Que pasó?" Manny said in concern of his wife. He ran to the living room and was shocked when he saw Camila carrying the baby. "Camila, what happened?!" He exclaimed.

"I-I-I don't know, I opened the door and found the baby on the porch. I don't know who left them." She said in a panicked state.

The commotion caused the baby to wake up. It opened its eyes, revealing their irises to have a unique magenta color, and began to cry. Camila rocked the baby in her arms to calm it down. "Shh, shh, shh, it's okay. You're safe now." She said,

"Hey, there's a note on the blanket." Manny said as he pulled it out of the blanket. Both of them looked at the note to see what it said.

'To the residents of this lot.

Forgive me for bringing you this unexpected visitor, but he wasn't in a safe in the previous environment he was born in. Please give him a better life, one where won't suffer.

His name is Hunter.'

Both of them looked at the note in shock, questions began to form in their mind about the baby's origins. Camila continued to rock the baby, which began to calm down. "There there pequeñito, everything's okay now." She said in a soothing voice.

"Camila, what are we going to do?" Manny asked.

Camila looked at Hunter, who stopped crying and looked at her. "We're going to keep him." She said,

"Camila, are you sure?" Manny asked. "A baby is a huge responsibility, especially since we don't have much supplies to take care of it. There's also my 'condition' that the doctor told me, I think this might be too much." He said in a worried tone. In truth, he didn't want to abandon the baby but he knew neither of them were ready for something like this to happen.

"I'm sure Manny," She said. "We talked about starting a family before. This could be our chance, we can raise him as our own." She said,

He looked at his wife and Hunter. She was right, Manny did want to have a kid and start a family of his own. "Okay, we'll raise him." He said, which brought a smile to her face.

"Did you hear that Hunter? We're going to be your parents now." She said as Hunter cooed. Manny walked up to Camila. "Hello Hunter, welcome to your new home." He said as he embraced the two of them.

Present

William landed back into the Demon Realm. The cloaked figure quickly deactivated the portal door, causing it to return in its briefcase form, and quickly grabbed it. The footsteps were quickly closing in on them.

"Thank you, now go." William said to the figure.

"But-" the figure tried to say but was interrupted.

"You did your part, now run. I'll take them on my own." William said.

The figure nodded and quickly ran into the woods. William stood his ground as a large platoon of the Emperor's Coven guards, which consisted of large, rotund men wearing gray long-sleeve shirts with various insignias on their sleeves, brown gloves, brown belt with a gold buckle, black pants, brown boots and dark gray pointed masks, rushed out of the trees in front of him. They quickly surrounded him before one of the guards with a three downward stripe chevron, a sergeant, spoke. "William, under the direct order of Emperor Belos, surrender yourself immediately!" He commanded.

The young adult didn't budge, instead he got into a battle stance as he pulled out his staff. "I'm not going down easily. You want me? Then come get me." He said to the Coven guard sergeant.

"Men, draw your weapons." The sergeant commanded. Most of the platoon drew their swords while a couple pulled out their musket rifles and readied themselves for a fight. William gripped his staff tight and, with a war cry, charged at the sergeant.

The cloaked figure ran through the woods, though he stopped when he heard noises coming from William's direction. They listened closely and heard various yelling, clashes, gunshots, and shouts of pain. The noises lasted around a good 5 minutes before a loud painful shout was heard, then everything went quiet. The figure could only guess what happened, and they could tell it wasn't good.

"May the Titan bless you, William." The figure said before continuing to run.
