Chapter 1: Strange Visions
All Robin could see was darkness.
Then, suddenly, a bright flash blinded him, before revealing some sort of strange vision...
"Robin, please! Whatever that bastard told you…It isn't true!" Chrom shouted out at the top of his lungs as he rolled to the side, just barely managing to avoid an energy blast that completely disintegrated a mountain in the distance. "There has to be another way!"
"My mind has already been made, Chrom. Get out of my way," Robin calmy responded, the golden aura surrounding his body growing larger and fiercer with every passing second. He had never felt power like this before in his entire life. "What I'm doing is for all of our benefit…You must believe me!"
Chrom grit his teeth, before quickly sheathing Falchion and clenching his fists at his side.
"I didn't want to have to do this, but…AGHHHHHHH!"
The Exalt's dark blue hair tuned teal and began to stand on end, and his eyes flashed a similar hue. The Brand of the Exalt on his arm glowed brightly, pulsing at the same rapid rate as his heart, and his muscle mass suddenly doubled. He was going all out from the start here!
Robin narrowed his eyes and clicked his tongue. "Are you actually going to fight me, Chrom? You're my best friend. I thought you, of all people, would understand…I've always acted in our universe's best interests, haven't I?"
"What you're trying to do is going to END our universe, Robin!" Chrom shouted out in response, before immediately charging forward and delivering a rapid flurry of punches at his best friend.
The white-haired man simply closed his eyes and began to avoid each and every punch like it was nothing, yawning as he did so. He kept this up for a few seconds, before suddenly opening his eyes and raising one finger, stopping Chrom's fist right before it slammed into his face.
"Wh-What?..." the Exalt whispered, his eyes widening in surprise.
"I'm sorry, Chrom. But you've really left me no choice here," Robin stated solemnly as he raised his other hand, which now had a tiny ball of yellow energy in it. A small smile crept onto the white-haired man's face. "Just know that once my plan is complete, you won't remember any of this. I will return this universe to how it SHOULD be, and we will ALL be happy!"
Before Chrom could respond, the ball immediately leapt from Robin's palm and slammed into the Exalt's chest. His eyes widened and he opened his mouth to scream in agony as the energy coursed through his veins.
However, he had been completely disintegrated before the sound could even be heard.
Robin stared at the spot where his best friend once stood, lost in thoughts for a few seconds, before looking up again. He could mourn Chrom's death later.
After all, he still had work to do.
"He…He killed Chrom with one attack…" Kamui whispered, gritting her teeth. The queen of Nohr felt her grip on the Yato tighten, and a dark purple aura spiked around her. "I need to avenge Corrin, Xander, and everyone else…But…It feels like there's absolutely no hope whatsoever now…"
"We already knew that the situation was hopeless the moment that Robin got this power," Goku muttered in response, powering up to the form that he had obtained during his fight with Xicor…The form beyond Super Saiyan 4. "We've just got to buy enough time for Byleth and Eliwood to complete their technique! There's absolutely no chance of us winning this thing unless they can pull it off!"
Despite her nervousness, Kamui couldn't help but smirk slightly as all of the energy that she could muster spiked around herself. "Under normal circumstances you'd be drooling at the chance of fighting such a strong opponent…"
Goku took a deep breath as he settled into a fighting stance, narrowing his eyes at Robin. "I know, but…These aren't normal circumstances. All of reality lies in the balance!"
The Saiyan raised on earth and the crux of fate both charged at Robin, unleashing synchronized attacks in an attempt to whittle down and distract their former friend. They pulled out every single trick that they had left up their sleeve, from Kamui's dragon vein abilities that altered and warped the very foundations of the planet that they fought on, to Ki-based techniques that packed enough power to destroy entire galaxies.
But it was still not enough.
Kamui was the first to go down, and she went down pretty easily. Sure, she was a good fighter, but at the end of the day her opponent was in a league of his own now. His power was far beyond anything she could have ever imagined.
Robin didn't really know the woman that well, so he didn't pay much attention to her as she died, but he could have sworn that he heard her mumble 'Anakos was right' as she disintegrated, suffering the same fate as Chrom.
Goku, on the other hand, took a bit more effort, as he was always the strongest warrior among the Z-Shepherds. The two warriors traded blows that shook the planet to its core, blood splattering across the floor with every punch that the former friends shot at each other.
The Saiyan raised on earth was doing absolutely everything he could to try and take down Robin…
…But, in the end, it was still not enough.
Falling down to one knee and reverting to his base form, Goku slowly looked up at Robin as he coughed up a little blood. "Please, Robin…You're supposed to be the smart one among us Saiyans! Don't you understand that what you're doing is wrong?! Everything we've fought for will be reduced to…To…To nothing!"
Robin narrowed his eyes at Goku and remained silent for a few moments. The Saiyan raised on earth thought that this meant that his friend was thinking over what he had said, but he felt his heart sink when the white-haired man smirked widely.
"…This universe is flawed. It should not exist! Our 'Ultimate Enemy' showed me that…But don't worry, because I am going to fix everything, Goku. You too will be able to live a peaceful life once my plan is complete," Robin said slowly and carefully. "Be at rest, now. You won't remember a single bit of this when you wake up again."
Goku opened his mouth to shout, but Robin unleashed the same attack that he had used on his previous two opponents. The golden orb slammed into Goku's forehead, pain like he had never felt before surged through his body, and his body was completely disintegrated before he could even scream.
The ashes remained in their spot for a few moments, and Robin looked down at them with a neutral expression on his face.
They then proceeded to flow through the wind, scattering across the planet, and Robin looked up at the final obstacle in the way of his plan.
Byleth.
The Ashen Demon was currently engaged with Emblem Eliwood, and as such his usually green hair was a fiery orange color, and his mercenary outfit was instead replaced with a more regal-looking outfit that resembled the one that Eliwood himself had worn hundreds of years ago.
His hands were stretched out towards the sky, and a massive ball of orange and green energy crackled above him, growing larger and larger with every passing second.
Sweat dripped down his face as he poured every ounce of energy that he still had into the technique. It was a long and arduous journey, and Byleth watched countless of his friends fall, but he wasn't going to give up yet. He had just a few more seconds left!
"Byleth," Robin stated simply, narrowing his eyes at the ruler of Fodlan. "I don't suppose I can convince you to just peacefully surrender? I know what you're trying to do, and I am going to tell you right now that it isn't going to work."
The stoic man said nothing as he continued to charge up the technique.
"There's absolutely nothing stopping me from killing you right here and now, you know. If you try to defend yourself, that ball of energy you're making is going to fizzle out, and all of our friends' deaths will have been for naught," Robin continued with a shrug. "And if you DON'T defend yourself, then you're going to die, and that attack will, again, fizzle out. It's a lose-lose situation either way."
The white-haired man then smiled and took a single step forward.
The entire planet shook as he did so.
His face softened.
"Just surrender peacefully right now. You can watch as I birth my…My…Beautiful new world. Once you see it, you'll know what I'm doing is right."
Byleth narrowed his eyes at Robin and, despite the situation that he was in, and despite the fact that he had earned his famous nickname for barely showing any emotion on his face, he couldn't help but scowl at the man he once considered a friend.
"Cordelia, Sumia, and every single one of the other Z-Shepherds would call you a madman if they were still alive, Robin," the Ashen Demon said plainly and bitterly. "They'd hate the man that you've become!"
The two men grew silent, and the only sounds on the battlefield was the ball of energy crackling above Byleth's head. Robin was silent for a few moments, but then his expression slowly turned to a venomous scowl. He raised one finger and, without wasting a second, immediately began to shoot a barrage of concentrated golden energy beams at Byleth's chest, filling it with countless holes.
"YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY WOULD THINK, BECAUSE THEY'RE DEAD! AND I'M GOING TO BRING THEM BACK TO LIFE!" Robin screamed at the top of his lungs as he continued to fire, rage clouding his better judgement. "I'LL MAKE YOU SUFFER!"
Byleth screamed in agony, falling down to one knee. Despite the pain, though, he still continued to trickle energy into the ball above his head.
"You've become unstable these past few years, Robin…Some tactician you are…Cordelia would absolutely hate you…"
"DIE!"
Robin stopped his barrage of death beams and instead proceeded to once again produce the same ball of energy that he had used to kill his other former friends. Instead of letting it gently float on over to his opponent, however, this time he proceeded to chuck it like a pitcher would a baseball at the Ashen Demon.
The ball of energy slammed into Byleth's forehead.
The orb that he had been charging immediately fizzled out of existence.
He slowly began to turn to dust...
...And then, he was gone.
Robin panted as smoke emanated from his fingertips, and he brought a hand up to his chest to calm his racing heart down.
"Byleth was never the kind to talk smack during a fight…What was he thinking in his final moments?..." Robin grumbled to himself out loud, bringing a hand up to his chin. "Perhaps he had gone insane?..."
"No. YOU are the one who's gone insane these past few months, Robin, and Byleth used that to his advantage!" an ethereal voice exclaimed from out of nowhere, causing Robin's eyes to widen.
"Wait...No...I should have known that Byleth would try something like this!" Robin whispered as his tail twitched behind him.
The madman took a step back, and immediately, Emblem Eliwood proceeded to reappear where Byleth once stood. He was floating in his position, and he had one hand raised towards the sky. A smaller version of the green and orange ball that Byleth had been charging up could be seen above him. Despite being smaller in size, however, it crackled far more violently.
"He wanted to make it out of this alive, and to charge up the attack himself. Unfortunately, you killed Goku, Kamui, and the others far faster than he had anticipated, and as a result he had to resort to this," the marquess of Pherae began as a cocky smile crossed his face. "Before you were one of the greatest tacticians in the universe, but a mere mention of the friends and family that you've lost recently will throw you into a frenzy! You've destroyed Byleth, but you can't destroy an Emblem! In his last moments, he gave this ball of energy to me, and although it has lost a lot of its power, I am now going to activate it!"
"No! You said it yourself, the technique has lost its power! What good would it do for you to activate it now?! Just throw it away and let me go on with my-"
"You're supposed to be the smart Saiyan, I'm sure you can figure it out," Emblem Eliwood interjected as the green and orange ball above him stopped changing in size and instead began to glow brighter and brighter. "It might not be able to send the full message…Maybe it'll send it in bits and pieces…Maybe it'll send just a word or two even. But something is better than nothing. Everyone who fought on this planet needs to know beforehand... They need to know the events that will lead to this. They need to be prepared, and any information will be helpful. Maybe…Just maybe then they can save this universe…And stop you from becoming the monster you've become!"
He then smirked.
"Heh, Hector always used to say that my Emblem Power was the weakest among the 16…But this wouldn't even be possible without my unique ability!"
Robin grit his teeth, and the massive aura around him began to violently double in size, before immediately tripling in size right after. The entire universe began to shake with Robin's righteous fury.
"YOU BASTAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD!"
The ball above Emblem Eliwood began to glow brighter and brighter in response, before it eventually exploded, causing everything in the universe to light up for a brief moment, before immediately falling into darkness.
The other visions didn't make much sense either, and it didn't exactly help that these ones lasted for a few seconds before immediately being replaced by something else entirely. Robin was only given seconds to try and interpret them.
He saw...
A war that dragged an entire world to the brink.
A massive fight between the Frost and the Flame Demons.
The resurrection of the Fell Dragon.
The Silent Dragon's madness.
The Death of the Mana Gods.
The return of the Shadow Dragons.
The Parade of the Dead.
And the 16 Golden Weapons.
All of these, and so much more, flickered through Robin's mind, and he felt himself going insane. However, eventually, the visions began to slow down, until eventually screeching to a complete and utter halt.
Darkness enveloped all five of his senses, and he could feel absolutely nothing.
All he could see was the dark...
Whether this feeling lasted for an eternity or just a few seconds, he couldn't say.
Slowly but surely, however, his ears began to pick up an oddly familiar set of voices as his five senses began to return to him…
"Chrom…We have to do SOMETHING."
"Well, what do you propose we do?"
"I…I don't know!"
His eyes suddenly snapped open, and Robin saw two people hovering over him, grinning as he awoke. The first one was a boy with dark blue hair, no older then 14 probably. Standing next to him was a blonde-haired girl with pigtails, who was probably a few years younger than the boy.
Both of them seemed so…Familiar, for some reason.
"I see you're awake now," the boy said with a friendly smile, raising an eyebrow at Robin.
The girl grinned and bent down to Robin's face, excitedly waving at him. "Hey there!"
The boy let out a chuckle as the girl got up, before shaking his head and looking back down at Robin once more.
"There are better places to take a nap then on the ground, you know," he said as he extended a hand out to Robin. "Here, give me your hand."
Robin blinked twice, before smiling nervously.
Slowly, surely, and apprehensively, he reached out, and the boy responded by quickly grabbing his hand, yanking Robin up to his feet. In the few brief seconds that it took to do so, Robin noticed a strange mark on his hand. He also felt…Shorter, for some reason.
But shorter compared to what?
As quickly as they had come to him, Robin's memories of the strange visions that he had just experienced suddenly began to vanish, as though he had never experienced them at all in the first place.
His other memories seemingly went along with them, because he felt that he could barely remember anything at all now.
Robin quickly looked around from left to right as he rubbed the sudden drowsiness he was feeling out of his eyes. Was he taking a nap...In a forest?! Where was he? What was he doing here? He had absolutely no idea what was going on...
"You all right?" the boy asked, cutting into Robin's thoughts and catching his attention.
"Y-Yeah, just a little disoriented..." Robin mumbled as he turned to look at him. He then smiled nervously. "Thanks, Chrom."
"Oh, so you know who I am?"
…
"I…No, actually…Your name…It sort of just…Came to me. That's weird. I…What's going on here?"
A/N: I made a Dragon Ball and Fire Emblem crossover story a while ago, but I decided to take another stab at it since I wasn't really a fan of how it had turned out.
The main character of this story is Robin, and as such much of the story will focus on the characters from FE13, but characters from almost every other Fire Emblem game will appear as well. Although they don't canonically do so, in this story pretty much every main series game takes place in the same world. How this exactly works will be explained as time goes on. And obviously I'm going to be taking stuff from pretty much every Dragon Ball series too. The new Daima show kind of clashes with some stuff I have planned though, so maybe not from that.
Also, the characters will start off as really young in the beginning unlike the games where they're adults from the get-go. Chrom is 14 here in the beginning, just as an example.
