AN1: This IS part of the Kairi Uzumaki story. It actually takes place during the Keyblade War but I am making this a separate story because I am having a hard time actually writing all the scenes that take place before this. So yeah it will be referenced in the main story but having it a separate story is easier then constantly shifting things over. Aka this allows me to get ahead of the main story without writing everything in between!
Yes, I realize that people want to see everything that happens in between this and the original Kairi Uzumaki story but this is the path I am choosing to do the series instead of cramming everything into one story.
Also this is not canon compliant either like all Kingdom Hearts worlds which are AU versions of the movies with same aspects the same as the 'canon' movie. So certain aspects of Honkai Lore will be changed to fit the narrative of this story. Aka the lore will be rippled as a result of being a 'world' in the greater 'multiverse' created by the X-blade. Things will change as I see fit from the canon game (including Kingdom Hearts itself).
Chapter 1 The breaking point of Naruto Uzumaki and hope
Naruto with a unique sword in hand slashed through another hoard of Neo Shadows Heartless with ease even as a dozen tried to swarm him at once. He flipped in the air as several Scrapper Unversed appeared out of the floor seemingly trying to drag him into the ground. He flipped into the air and sent a massive Fireball into the ground after making hand signs so quick they appeared to be little more then a twitch. This incarnated the Scrapper Unversed and dozens of more Nobodies and Heartless that were near the area.
"Sheesh! How many more thousands of our army is going to cut down before he finally drops?" Young Xehanort asked with a notable whine as he crossed his arms.
Young Xehanort and his fellow 'Seekers of Darkness' were still trapped in a Six Red Yang Formation barrier that kept them sealed off while preventing them from leaving even with Corridors of Darkness which normally could be used to escape into different 'worlds'.
"Worry not. His strength will fail him soon. No matter how strong one person is no individual can stand up to the power of all the Darkness we can utilize. No matter how many he destroys there will always be more soldiers we can utilize to overwhelm him. Time is on our side." Terra-Nort who was fused form of the Keyblade Wielder Terra with his body taken over by the older Keyblade Master Xehanort stated calmly with a signature smirk.
Ansem the Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas looked on the fight with stoic expressions despite being the Heartless and Nobody counterparts of Terra-Nort neither seemed to share Terra-Nort enthusiasm.
'You are you own people! You are not Xehanort! I know you have own hearts and feelings!' Ansem Seeker of Darkness remembered Naruto declaring that loudly to him much to his discomfort.
'You aren't Terra or Xehanort or their Nobody. You might have come from them but just like a child is their own person you can be too. I know it! I have seen it that you do care even if you try to pretend nothing phases you anymore!' Xemnas remembered Naruto declaring that to him.
'How does a mere child be able to see past this façade…? What makes him so sure people like us can be redeemed? What makes him able to move past what is on the outside and what actions we have chosen to show?' Xemnas mused with his eyes slightly sad but very hidden in his stoic expression.
"Shakkaho!" Naruto yelled as he placed his left palm which was not holding his sword in front of him. Instantly a red ball of 'Fire' appeared and shot out. This destroyed several Dusk Nobodies when it hit them and exploded. AN2:
"Byakurai!" Naruto then yelled as he pivoted in mid air and used his right hand which was holding his sword. He shifted his grasp on his sword as he pointed his index finger. This caused a massive beam of 'Lightning' to shoot out where he was pointing. The beam shot through a massive Turtletoad Unversed which towered over its Nobody, Unversed and Heartless brethren making it hiss as it was shot through the stomach and started to melt away as the hole widened. The beam then continued to make a path of destruction destroying several more of the small Heartless, Nobodies and Unversed before sizzling out.
Naruto then continued his barrage against the seamlessly endless waves of the army of the dark. He seemed to vanish in a blur of hand-to-hand combat including punches and kicks strong enough to dissolve darkness despite the lack of magic or the mystical weapon the 'Keyblade'. He then continued with swings of his sword that was a blur of destruction that was almost beautiful in his sword which looked like a silver Daito Sword that he held with one hand. It blurred slashing and cutting through hordes while he used his other hand to form Hand signs and punch.
Meanwhile while in their own barrier but admittedly with a yellow barrier of seemingly light was the the 'Guardians of Light' the self-proclaimed current generation of Keyblade wielders and their allies who fought on the side of Light.
Naruto's twin sister Kairi Uzumaki, her Nobody Namine and her pseudo clone Xion were cheering loudly for Naruto who was their brother. Despite only Kairi being born at the same time as Naruto, Namine and Xion were considered his sisters as well with them having the same body measurements and height and same blue eyes the Uzumaki twins shared. The main differences between the girls was their hair colours, Kairi had short red hair inherited from Naruto and her mother Kushina Uzumaki that went to her shoulders. Namine had slightly longer blonde hair that curled to the left that was straight but notably rather similar to Naruto's blonde spikey hair. Xion had black hair that was the same length and style as Kairi.
"Go Naruto! You are the best!" Kairi chanted jumping excitedly in place.
"Yes, brother you are doing amazing!" Xion jumped just as excited as Xion.
"You can do it." Namine encouraged not jumping like her sisters but having just as much faith in Naruto with a slightly more subdued smile showing her personality was not as outspoken as the other two.
Lea and Roxas were looking at Naruto with envy as they watched his battle prowess as he single-handily was dealing with a massive army that never seemed to end.
"Sheesh that Naruto... He isn't even using the power of the X-Blade which I thought was the only thing that could deal with an army this large. He is still destroying endless waves of them with just his own powers not the power of the X-blade itself." Lea commented with amazement.
The Mighty X-Blade whose power was linked to Kingdom Hearts itself and capable of opening the door to the 'true' Kingdom Hearts was notably not the weapon Naruto was using.
"…. Yeah, he is something else… I can see why Xion thinks the world of him." Roxas noted as he looked over at his other excited best friend with a small smile and a nod of recognition.
Donald and Goofy were gaping at the sheer number of enemies that Naruto was facing on his own and yet it seemed nothing could stop the blonde in his path of destruction. He was continuously charging into and through the nearly endless swarm and destroying waves and waves of enemies.
Sora couldn't help but cheer along with Kairi albeit not nearly as excited but still with a massive grin. In a corner of the barrier but with notable distance from the rest of the group was Marluxia, Larxene and Strelitzia were watching the battle going on. Marluxia had an impressed look with Larxene unable to hide her shock and envy at the strength of the blonde X-Blade wielder.
'No wonder he beat us so easily. Even after all this he is still going strong. I am glad he saw whatever good remained in our cold hearts and didn't end up destroying us altogether.' Marluxia thought gratefully.
Strelitzia was holding her hands together in a prayer with a look that seemed determined but also worried.
'Please be okay… I know how strong you are but can you finish the fight the way you are?' Strelitzia thought ominously as she bit her lip lightly in nervously.
Riku wanted to cheer along with Sora and Kairi but he noticed how Mickey and Aqua continued to look more and more worried as Naruto continued to fight off the hoard by himself. Ventus frowned as well as his eyes followed the battle as Naruto dashed rapidly from place to place.
'Is something going on? It seems Miss Aqua is not great at expressing herself as loudly as Kairi or Sora but I would think Mickey would be cheering right now. Instead, both of them are looking more and more worried. Are they seeing something I am not?' Riku thought as he caught Aqua looking at Master Xehanort sharply instead of her usual glare.
'It seems he is noticing it too… I hate agreeing with him or anything but at this rate…' Aqua thought as she exchanged a look with Mickey who seemed just as annoyed as she was.
Master Xehanort was frowning but not a way that he was disappointed his army was being destroyed. He looked more sad as he watched Naruto continuing to fight an army of darkness that never seemed to end.
'That boy… No rather that young man… The Child of prophecy as stated by the X-blade itself… It seems even he cannot….' Master Xehanort thought as he watched Naruto send a particular strong slash that destroyed several dozens of weaker Unversed and Heartless due to a shockwave created.
After several more minutes of watching destroy waves after waves of Unversed, Heartless and Nobodies Mickey sighed getting the Guardians of Light to turn around to look at the small Mouse Keyblade Master.
"Your majesty? Is something the matter?" Goofy asked his superior with worry with Donald also on alert looking at Mickey Mouse with concern.
"Sorry fellows. I think Naruto is going to lose this fight." Mickey stated sadly but also seriously as once again there was another massive shockwave that hit the barriers as Naruto swung his sword sending a wave of energy at another wave.
Kairi, Xion and Namine felt the urge to hold down their skirt as a phantom wind made them shudder slightly. They knew if the barrier was not their short skirts would have been lifted up and revealed what was underneath. Kairi mini pink and black skirt, Xion's white and black mini skirt and the skirt of Namine's one piece mini lace dress.
Instantly this declaration was met with disbelief and shock from his allies with even the Seekers of Darkness looking at the short Keyblade Master with both amusement and surprise.
"What is this? I thought you Keyblade Wielders of Light were supposed to be saps who could will away the Darkness with good feelings and positive smiles? Are you saying you lost faith in that kid over there? As if!" Xigbar asked in his typical mocking and sarcastic tone getting a glare from Mickey.
"I haven't lost my faith in him! I am just saying that this might be a fight he cannot win…" Mickey stated indignantly before his expression grew sad as he tried to avoid the angry glares from Naruto's sister especially Kairi who looked at him with arguably the most anger.
"Your Majesty! Naruto is the one taking down all the waves down there! How could he possibly lose at this rate? I mean he beat that Goddess Lady Kaguya remember? These guys seem like a joke compared to her! She was the scary one…" Sora shouted as he gestured to the waves of Heartless with his wrist.
Everyone including the Seekers of Darkness shuddered at the reminder of the Ancient Being Kaguya Ōtsutsuki whose might made them all want to crawl into corner and cry albeit the Seekers of Darkness tried to hide their fear with condescending smirks.
'Still hard to believe that Naruto and Kairi came from her bloodline. She was like their great-great-great-great and a few more greats ancestor right? From their mother side?' Lea thought as he mentally counted on his fingers how many generations that linked Kaguya to the Uzumaki twins. AN3:
'She was like an unmoving statue. Endless beauty but scary when her gaze fell on you. I feel it's a good idea I didn't voice I felt an attraction to her while she was around. Not only do I think she wouldn't appreciate I don't think even Naruto, Kairi, Xion or Namine would appreciate it either. She might be a distant ancestor like super distant but she is still related to them and nobody likes when family members are hit on in front of them.' Lea thought as he imagined Kaguya glaring at him with those 'vein like' eyes for his comments. He could also imagine him having to run from a furious Kairi and Xion with their Keyblades at his feet or worst yet having to pray that Naruto didn't outright knock him out with that insane 'Golden Mode' speed.
"I know but Naruto feels like he is weakening. He is getting tired even if he is not showing it!" Mickey insisted as another fire ball of Shakkaho incinerated another group of enemies as he continued to slash through whatever stood in his way.
Before Naruto's sisters could retort Aqua put her hand up much to Ventus's surprise.
"Ven… You can see it too, can't you? I don't want to admit it but I can see where Mickey is coming from." Aqua said gently as Ventus bit his lip.
"…Yeah…. He is strong… Still absurdly strong but he is slowly down bit by bit." Ventus admitted as Roxas shook his head.
"You call THAT 'slowly down'? He is like a demon still and I am saying that in the good way!" Roxas noted putting his hands up in surrender when Namine and Xion glaring at him for calling their brother a demon even in jest.
'Why are all the girls I know have scary stares? Is this what Axel meant when he said that girls have a double dose? Probably better not to say this out loud.' Roxas thought with self preservation luckily keeping his thoughts private.
Master Xehanort chuckled getting surprised looks from everyone even the Seekers of Darkness.
"Old man? You can actually laugh?" Xigbar called out in surprise.
"What is so funny? You want to say that to our face?" Aqua asked angrily as Master Xehanort smile changed to a smirk while Terra-Nort just smirked at the glare Ventus gave him.
"Is it perhaps your fond memories and impressions of that young man down there? Can you not see him faltering or is it rather you will not let your heart believe what your eyes are showing?" Master Xehanort asked with a raised eyebrow.
Sora saw Kairi seemingly flinch as he stepped in front of her to glare at Master Xehanort.
"What's that supposed to be? We are not denying anything!" Sora insisted with a glare that was eerily similar to Ventus and Roxas making Xigbar smirk grow bigger.
"Perhaps you lack the training to see how his movements are no longer the nearly invincible steps he was using before?" Master Xehanort suggested as Sora looked ready to slug him only to stop when Roku and Kairi put their hands on his shoulders to calm him down.
Master Xehanort looked over the Guardians of Light before he seemed to focus on Ventus, Aqua and Mickey ignoring the various glares he got in return.
"It seems only the Young King, my former apprentice and Master Aqua can see what is happening." Master Xehanort noted before he sighed.
"That young man… Naruto… is not using that power… what did he call it? Chakra. That's right… consistently anymore. He is trying to conserve it as much as he can now." Master Xehanort noted as he nodded to himself.
"It is not magic but it has a distinctive feel to that is separate to that power that comes from that sword of his. I believe he called it Spirit energy?" Master Xehanort noted after a moment.
"He is almost exclusively that power now. Now why would he not use his native powers of Chakra if he is still at full power? Why risk using an unfamiliar power unless you have no other choices?" Master Xehanort asked with a smirk seeing Aqua and Mickey look down.
Kairi quickly ran up to Aqua with puppy doglike eyes that were full of fear and disbelief.
"Aqua? Is he right?" Kairi asked desperately as Aqua looked away but the message was clear.
Sora then turned to Mickey with an annoyed expression as he crossed his arms.
"If that is true then why isn't he letting us fight alongside him?! If this barrier wasn't keeping us trapped inside then at the very least, we could be helping him and at least dividing up the enemies so he wouldn't be surrounded at all sides!" Sora snapped as Mickey flinched at his tone.
"Gosh Sora… It's not like I liked being trapped in here either…" Mickey stated sheepishly as Goofy and Donald frowned at Sora's tone but it was clear they didn't exactly disagree with Sora's statement.
Riku put a hand on Sora's shoulder making him grumble but nod.
The Guardians turned around when they heard Xigbar snicker before he turned into full blown laughter as he let out a long series of laughs and even put a hand over his chest. Xigbar appeared to be enjoying laughing so much he was wheezing and hunched over slapping his hand over his knee.
"What's so funny you one-eyed freak?" Lea asked loudly as Xigbar let out a few chuckles before he stopped.
"I do not miss your sense of humour Flamilocks." Xigbar commented referring to a nickname he gave to Lea's Nobody Axel as Lea scowled.
Xigbar cheerfully expression turned serious as he crossed his arms.
"You still don't get it do you? Why Naruto is still bothering to put up a barrier even now when he is surrounded and fighting for his existence?" Xigbar asked with a raised eyebrow as he pointed to the barriers to prove his point.
Larxene decided to put in her two cents as she put her hands on her hourglass figure having a notable thin waist and wide hips which was accentuated in her black Coat all members of Organization 13 used.
"If you are so wise then why don't enlighten us then?" Larxene asked coldly with notably sarcasm.
"Despite having all the power in the universe in his hands through the X-blade he still puts Kairi on some sort of pedestal and its clear he would rather risk himself then risk her and any her friends." Xigbar noted as there was another sonic boom from an explosion of Spirit Energy released by Naruto.
"It is such a shame that fate decided to give the X-Blade someone so unworthy of its power. If it was given to us then we could make real change for the worlds instead of a someone who is like all you heroes. Someone who wants to help individuals instead of changing the status quo for everyone." Terra-Nort mocked with a grin seeing all the glares sent his way. He seemed most pleased at the glares from Aqua and Ventus almost as if mocking them for using the body of their friend.
Young Xehanort decided to give his two words as he gave a smirk showing despite being trapped, he was still confident and cocky.
"There is yet another way to think of it young Kairi. Naruto being the X-Blade wielder is responsible for every world in existence and that is put on his shoulders. However he values your protection more then himself. Surely you know that means your life itself means more to him then the life of every other person in the entire multiverse because if he falls then that means everyone who depends on him falls." Young Xehanort added cruelly. AN3:
Saix looked away while Ansem and Xenmas briefly looked angered at Terra-Nort before their faces grew emotionless once again almost as if they realized what they were doing. Master Xehanort instead was focused on Naruto whose movements in his eyes were slowing down gradually despite hot it seemed to the normal on looker.
'If that young man did not already exhaust his strength before it is clear he could have defeated all this darkness by himself. However, the state he is now he will surely lose.' Master Xehanort mused with his thoughts showing neither mirth or cheer rather his thoughts showed sadness.
'If only we did not have to be on opposite sides of destiny.' Master Xehanort thought with a hint of pity.
Kairi looked down with guilt even as Namine and Xion placed their hands on her shoulders.
"Kairi..." Namine stated with sympathy as they continued to watch their brother fighting waves and waves of darkness that never seemed to subside.
"Naruto! Please let us help you! I know we needed your help before but we can help you now! Put down this barrier and you don't have to fight this battle alone!" Kairi begged with all her emotions raw in her scream.
Naruto dodged another series of attacks and moved in front of the barrier in a near invisible blur showing his proficiency using Shunpo or the "Flash Step". Naruto looked at Kairi, Namine and Xion for a brief moment using sadness as he looked to the side. His brief look of sadness vanished as a look of stoic resolve covered it up.
"No… I won't let put your lives on the line and since you value them so much, I won't put their lives on the line declared either." Naruto stated calmly but his blue eyes showed conflicted emotions despite how stoic his face looked.
"Hey! You might be all powerful and everything but that doesn't mean you can brush us off! I honestly don't know you but you making Kairi cry right now!" Lea declared angrily showing a protectiveness of the younger red head.
"Axel…. Please don't…." Kairi mumbled as she briefly looked at the taller red head with a look of gratefulness before focusing on her brother.
"Kairi…. He shouldn't be able to act like you are a bother just because he is strong!" Lea insisted but to everyone surprise Naruto gave a mirthless chuckle.
"The irony… You're wrong. If anyone is a bother its me and if anyone is weak its probably me. I have never been able to get any real sort of strength before." Naruto mused with an amused look as if Lea said something funny.
Before anyone could say anything, else Naruto vanished again in a burst of Shunpo as a wave of darkness tried to swallow him from below. Naruto then went back to leaping and backflipping from a series of elemental attacks sent by dozens of waves of various Heartless, Nobodies and Unversed.
Roxas and Sora had surprisingly similar grumpy expressions as they looked at Xion and Kairi with frowns.
"Sheesh! That guy acts all tough almost as if we are too weak to help him out!" Roxas whined with Sora nodding showing his approval as he looked at Kairi with concern.
"Yeah! I mean he really cared about Kairi then he wouldn't make her cry by getting hurt in the first place!" Sora stated but he winced when he saw a glare from Namine and Kairi.
"Sora! That is enough! I think I get it. I tried to do everything on my own when I took on Ansem appearance and tried to keep you and Kairi at arm distance to protect you. I think that is what Naruto is trying to do with all of us." Riku chided as Sora looked down and rubbed his head with a sigh.
"Roxas…. That look in his eye. If anything, he looked like he was falling into an abyss or that he accepted he was trapped by fate. I don't think he thinks he doesn't need help. I think it rather he can't let himself accept help and be burdened by anyone else pain or hurt." Aqua added softly as they covered their face from another explosive shockwave this time from Naruto kicking a Neo Shadow into a crowd of Unversed and exploding it in mid air.
"Brother… Why must you try to take on everyone's pain even if it causes you infinite pain? Do you understand that when you take on pain, we might get physical pain but instead mental pain in our hearts watching you struggle." Namine asked as she clenched her fist.
'Why must I be so weak? I don't even have a Keyblade or combat abilities rather I have this ability to change memories but not help protect anyone?' Namine thought resentfully on how she was born from Kairi but lacked the ability to use the Keyblade unlike Roxas or Xion who came from Sora.
"Hado Number 33 Sōkatsui!" Naruto shouted as he put his palm out and shot out a wave of blue fire in the form of a massive wave that vaporized waves of darkness in its path. The wave was notable enough to clear a path as Naruto dashed forward swinging his Zanpakutō destroying Heartless with every swing with seemingly ease.
'Dammit my control is slipping. I can't do Kido quickly and precisely without the Hado or Bakudo name and number anymore.' Naruto thought in realization as he felt his Spirit energy starting to dip again despite his seemingly ease with Kido spells.
Naruto continued to spin and dodge countless waves of Heartless before he flinched when he felt a 'Version 1' Tailed Beast cloak surround him with the bubbling red chakra surrounding his body. It formed into a pair of fox like ears over his head, his fingernails grew to resemble claws and a single tailed formed from the chakra and swung behind him.
Naruto gave a roar and swing his fist with the cloak following his actions. This sent a shockwave that sent a wide area of Heartless and Nobodies flying away from him.
"It's that form… Naruto called it 'Version 1' right? Using Kurama chakra is merely a cloak surrounding his skin." Aqua noted although she couldn't help a slight shudder as the chakra itself had a feeling of domination.
'Kurama what are doing? I got this. You don't need to use your chakra right now.' Naruto asked with a hint of worry showing he was worried about Kurama even if it was only mentally.
"….. Naruto…. Let's retreat for now." Kurama stated firmly as his voice seemed to echo from the cloak itself showing he had some control of the chakra cloak.
"What are you talking about?!" Naruto shouted in his normal voice as he sent another roar to hold back a wave of charging Heartless.
"…. Summon the X-blade and she can summon a portal back to Earth that the Darkness cannot follow." Kurama commanded seemingly ignoring Naruto's confusion. Naruto chakra 'tail' waved by itself and batted away several attacks that tried to his Naruto from behind.
Xigbar gave a hearty laugh before a mocking smile appeared on his face.
"So, the beast comes out again! So much for a big bad scary fox! I thought you were suppose to be all powerful but here you are telling the X-blade brat to leave and run with his tail between his legs! Or is it your tails being you're are a beast?" Xigbar mocked as Kairi, Xion and Namine glared at him for his response.
Naruto glare seemed to be intensified as his version 1 cloak also made his whisker marking thicker and more menacing with.
"Fool. Despite it being against Naruto's nature he could still appear before you and slash your throat open before you could link let alone take a shot at him." Kurama retorted coldly before his voice notably had a tired tone.
"Naruto… I hate to admit it but we are running on fumes right now. We haven't had any chance to properly restore our chakra let alone that 'Spirit Energy' you insist on using. If we continue to battle this way we might actually lose this war." Kurama informed Naruto sounding notably exhausted as Naruto eyes softened.
"Kurama… I know I have been pushing you too far and I am sorry for that." Naruto apologized sincerely with soft eyes.
Naruto flipped over and sent a blast of Spirit Energy from his Zanpakutō which scattered the waves of Heartless as Naruto made hand signs in mid air. This changed the landscape so Naruto had a platform high into the air as he looked down from his cliff.
"However, I won't abandon them even if I am running on nothing. Whatever happens to me doesn't matter as long as I can make a world where Kairi, Namine and Xion can live in peace. To start that I need to finish this war for them." Naruto declared even as his foot shifted slightly as he was almost forced to take a knee.
"Brother…. Please don't…" Kairi pleaded looking up at Naruto with her eyes near tears as she watched her brother continue to struggle for her sake.
"Don't be a stubborn Uzumaki brat! If you fall then these Darkness Fools will extract the X-blade from you and then every world will be in danger of their deranged plans of a reset! Even your world could be affected using the power of the true X-Blade!" Kurama snapped before a slight panting could be heard.
"…. Please Kurama. You can't expect me to abandon the only family I have left…" Naruto pleaded even as his shoulders started to slump showing his exhaustion was starting to leak through.
"Tch… Naruto… For once think with your brain instead of your heart. You have done enough. Go home and rest for once in your life!" Kurama insisted as the cloak seemed to vibrate angrily to show Kurama's annoyance.
Naruto seemed to ignore Kurama and closed his eyes and clenched his teeth. To everyone shock the 'Version 1 cloak' seemed to recede back into Naruto through Naruto sheer will. After a few seconds Naruto's tail, fox ears and claws vanished as Naruto original form could be seen but Naruto briefly panted. Naruto almost looked ready to collapse as he swayed slightly on his feet and blinked several times.
"He is weakened! Do it now! Bring the X-blade Master down!" Terra-Nort shouted with an excited and bloodthirsty look as he put his arms out as if he was in command.
Suddenly there was a massive burst of wind forcing the Guardians of Light to cover their faces with one hand. As well as Xion, Namine and Kaiir to keep their skirts down with the other to avoid having it being lifted up. The Guardians of Light gasped as they saw a massive tower of Shadow-like Heartless combined into a wave as thousands of yellow eyes could be seen as they blinked at different times.
"Wooh! Now that is what I call an 'ace in the hole'! That one is quite something I must say! As if anyone could take this bad boy down!" Xigbar whistled impressed even as his face split into an evil grin.
'This will set things back into motion so They can return!' Xigbar thought solemnly as the Master of Masters and the 5 Foretellers could be seen in his mind even as their faces were hidden in shadows.
Aqua looked ready to pass out with fear as her eyes were wide with fear and she even had her somewhat gloved right hand over her pink lips.
"No…! This is a completely different level from anything we have fought before! I didn't think they could form this size and power!" Aqua whimpered as her normally strong front seemed to shatter at the sight of the Heartless tower.
The Heartless Tower seemed to be bigger than a mountain as it towered over everything and its sheer size allowed it to reach Naruto despite him being on a massive cliff himself.
"Even if we all fought that thing together, I don't think we could win against it. How could anyone beat something like that?" Mickey asked as his doubt and despair could be seen with his round mouse eyes drooping.
"This is like a bad dream except this is reality and its not a joke." Lea noted as his bit his lip and clenched his fist.
"Hey! Nothing is unstoppable! We could beat it if we tried!" Roxas insisted but even he seemed to be abit reluctant as he took a step back.
While everyone was shivering with fear and or bickering Kairi was instead focused solely on Naruto who looked at the massive wave of Shadow Heartless with an expression.
"Naruto… Is there nothing we can do for you?" Kairi asked sadly as she looked down as clenched her hand.
"We can believe in him. People have been doubting him for a lot of his life so let us put our belief in him at the very least." Xion stated with a determined expression as she put a hand on Kairi should as she stood next to her.
"Yes! He might have had to grow up alone but he has us now and when this over we can finally show him what having family means!" Namine stated as her blue eyes shone with determination. Namine placed a hand on Kairi other shoulder as she also stood next to Kairi showing her resolve.
"…. Please be okay. I don't care if you are strong or weak I just want you be able to come home." Kairi pleaded softly as she closed her eyes and silently prayed.
Meanwhile on top of the cliff Naruto looked at the Mountain Shadow Heartless as it flew around him as if trying to intimidate him.
"So this is the big bad? A final boss so to speak. Fine. I shall slay you and be done with it." Naruto declared as he swung his Zanpakutō and sent a shockwave that cleared away the dust that was gathering from the wind.
The Mountain Shadow Heartless flew above him and was large enough that's snake like body formed from many thousands of Shadow Heartless and possibly other forms of Darkness almost formed a circular cage around Naruto.
Naruto eyes darted rapidly as he followed its movements with his eyes as it continued to pick up speed and fly around him quicker and quicker by the minute.
Naruto closed his eyes as he put his left palm forward and his right hand holding his Zanpakutō to the side with his right hand. Blue and yellow spirit energy emitted from his body as he focused and gathered his strength.
"Mask of blood and flesh" Naruto started his Kido chant for his Hado Spell as the blue and yellow spirit energy started to swirly together and form in front of him.
"Naruto is calling out his spell now! He is going to that spell at full power then!" Mickey yelped as Kairi face grew into a smile.
"You can do it Naruto! Show us the power you gained by accepting that spirit part of you and that Zanpakutō brother." Kairi prayed confidently.
"Fool! Attack him now! He is vulnerable while he is chanting out that spell! Do it now!" Young Xehanort commanded the Mountain Shadow Heartless showing he was not afraid to attack someone while they were not looking or focused.
The Mountain Shadow Heartless let out a blood curdling roar and scream that made everyone close their ears in pain. It started to swarm in an attempt to attack Naruto while he was still chanting.
"… all creation, flutter of wings… " Naruto continued to chant as the energy intensified while his eyes were closed.
The Mountain Shadow Heartless dove rapidly seemingly in an attempt to knock out Naruto while he was focusing gathering energy.
Before anyone could say anything, the Heartless dive bombed the cliff and destroyed it causing a massive dust cloud to appear shrouding everyone vision.
"Naruto!" Kairi screamed in terror as her brother was seemingly caught up in the attack and unable to avoid it.
"Haha! Take that brat! Serves you right for being all fancy during a fight! What were you thinking letting your guard down to prepare a spell like that!" Xigbar mocked as he let out a chuckle and held his stomach as if laughing was hurting his stomach.
"Ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus." Naruto voice continued to chant as everyone looked around to see Naruto above the Heartless now standing in mid air as the blue energy had continued to form into a wave in his front of him.
"He dodged while gathering energy?!" Ventus shouted in surprise along with Roxas.
'Kido spells take time to charge up. You can skip the incantation of the spells to save time and quickly fire them. However, the cost is that the spell is vastly weaker without the incantation. However, if you spend time saying the incantation you leave yourself wide open to attacks. The best way to use Kido is in a group so you can charge up without being attacked.' Naruto had explained as Kairi remembered with a look of wonderment.
"Naruto got rid of the weakness of Kido by being able to move and dodge while charging up Kido." Kairi said in realization.
"What are you doing?! Hit him! Don't let him finish that spell!" Terra-Nort demanded as he glared at Naruto form. AN5:
The Mountain Shadow Heartless roared as it sent parts of itself in the form of branches that looked somewhat of tentacles after Naruto in an attempt to entrap him. However, despite still keeping his eyes closed and focusing on his Kido it appeared Naruto was still far from helpless.
Naruto using an impressive burst of Shunpo as he dashed around the Mountain Shadow Heartless in multiple directions and angles. He would appear to the side of it and then instantly appear behind it and even appear in front of the barrier encasing the remaining members of the Seekers of Darkness.
They barely had time to even look at him before he vanished in another burst of Shunpo almost appearing to teleport due to the sheer speed of his movement. He then seemed to speed up even more when he left dozens of 'Afterimages' surrounding the Mountain Shadow Heartless who roared as it tried to keep up with Naruto by sending out dozens of tentacles in every direction.
Despite its omnidirectional attacks it failed to hit Naruto as it would only hit the afterimages as Naruto kept jumping from place to place and be unable to be touched by the massive Heartless.
"So fast! It can't keep up at all!" Lea noted with astonishment as he tried to keep up with his eyes but failed.
"In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens." Naruto chanted as he continued to charge up his Kido and dodge without opening his eyes.
"Now its over! Be gone Heartless!" Naruto declared as he opened his eyes and the blue sprit energy swirled around his palms. Naruto used Shunpo once more to appear on the ground beneath the Mountain Shadow Heartless and put his palms together out in front of him aiming at the massive Heartless.
"Hado Number 73 Sōren Sōkatsui!" Naruto roared his gathered Spirit energy combined and shot out in the form of a extremely massive wave.
Everyone else had to cover their eyes and ears as they heard and felt a sonic boom and massive explosion as the wave collided with the Mountain Shadow Heartless as it hissed in pain and agony. After a few moments the wave continued after vaporizing the Heartless and continued into the sky and possibly into space itself showing just how powerful and destructive Naruto full power Kido spell was.
"Wahhh! Is it over!" Donald duck screamed as it took roughly a minute for the sonic boom and the dust to subsisde.
Everyone looked over to see a panting Naruto standing alone with no sign of the Mountain Shadow Heartless in sight.
"Wooh Naruto did it!" Kairi cheered along with Namine and Xion as they clapped hands happily.
As the guardians of light cheered Aqua gasped as she pointed at Naruto who fell down to his knees.
"Pant… Pant… Pant… That must have done it…" Naruto panted as slowly got onto his feet but was forced to stab his Zanpakutō to stand.
'Dammit… I am running on fumes… I have to still take care of the rest of the Seekers of Darkness before Kairi is safe…' Naruto thought as he continued to pant in exhaustion.
"That's enough! We can take care of the rest! Please rest!" Riku stated as he summoned his Keyblade as if to prove his point they could fight.
Naruto turned to him and was about to say something before he shuddered.
"It can't be… This feeling?!" Naruto gasped as he looked up in the sky with a startled look.
Everyone looked up with the Guardians of Light having looks of horror. In the middle of the sky a ball of Darkness appeared out of nowhere and started to expand as it grew tentacles and branches. Those branches and tentacles expanded and jabbed hundreds of the remaining Heartless and Nobodies and absorbed them into itself. The orb soon grew massively until it appeared to reform into the Mountain Shadow Heartless.
"It came back to life by absorbing all those Heartless and Nobodies?!" Lea shouted in surprise.
"Perhaps it was not completely destroyed by Naruto's Kido and was capable of restoring itself completely because it was still a tiny bit intact?" Mickey suggested as he grit his teeth in frustration.
Everyone turned back to Naruto who glared up at the massive Heartless who roared in anger as it started to rush towards him.
"Can Naruto do another one of those spells? I mean even that massive one couldn't destroy it completely in one go." Aqua asked with an uncertain look as she clenched her hand.
Naruto eyes kept looking around as he saw that the Mountain Shadow Heartless started to send waves of darkness at him before Naruto quickly picked up his Zanpakutō out of the ground and leapt into the air. Naruto then started to slash and jumpy away from the waves as he batted them away with his Zanpakutō and leapt away before the waves could surround him.
Naruto continued this game of slashing and jumping away for several more minutes as the Heartless kept sending waves and waves of darkness at him while keeping him in sight. Naruto was about to send a massive burst of Spirit energy from his Zanpakutō before his eyes glazed over for a moment. He froze in mid slash for a moment as it appeared exhaustion finally caught up with him. The Mountain Shadow Heartless took this opportunity to form a massive fist out of the wave of Darkness. It swung the fist at Naruto's hand making him wince as he was forced to let go of his Zanpakutō which got sent flying far away into the distance.
"Naruto! Your sword!" Namine screamed in fear as Naruto was now unarmed against the massive Heartless.
The Mountain Shadow Heartless took this opportunity to surround Naruto with its body now morphing into waves of darkness behind Naruto limiting his range as its main body dashed forward.
'Not enough time! I have to do it now!' Naruto decided as he glanced over where his Zanpakutō had flown towards and knowing he wouldn't be able to reach it at the moment.
Naruto body flashed as a familiar yellow chakra formed over his body and formed a chakra cloak. He was once again in Kurama Mode as he and Kurama combined their chakra again. Naruto dashed forward even as the waves of darkness surrounded him from behind encasing him in a cage of sorts. Naruto continued to dash towards the Mountain Shadow Heartless main body which was also flying towards him with many tentacles trying to encage him.
Naruto flicked a kunai past the main body of the Mountain Shadow Heartless in a small gap that the heartless ignored as it continued to soar towards Naruto in their dash. Just as the tentacles was about to ensure Naruto, Naruto vanished and reappeared above the Heartless where his kunai had sailed leaving Naruto now above the Heartless and in range for an attack.
'Flying Rajin Level Two!' Naruto thought as he grabbed the kunai with his left hand and with his right hand, he put his palm towards the Heartless.
"Take this! The Ultimate Supreme Massive Uzumaki Rasengan!" Naruto roared as an extremely large Rasengan formed instantly out of his right hand. The size of Rasengan expanded to the point where it was larger than the main body of the Mountain Shadow Heartless as he thrust his hand forward so the Rasengan was going to collide with the Heartless while it was not able to react.
'I will make sure the explosion gets rid of every small atom of darkness so it won't be able to regenerate! I might have used up all my Spirit Energy with that last Kido but this one will work!' Naruto thought as he clenched and glared down at the Heartless.
"Go!" Kairi, Xion and Namine shouted at the same time as they saw the massive orb of yellow chakra expand towards the massive embodiment of darkness.
Time seemed to slow down for Naruto as his hand with the Rasengan inched closer and closer to the main body of the Mountain Shadow Heartless. Just before the Rasengan was about to make contact Naruto orange eyes from Kurama Mode glazed over as he felt his chest and entire body ache with pain.
"Argh?! Urgh?!" Naruto groaned in pain as he stopped his charge in mid air as entire body started to spasm.
Naruto left hand was forced to cover his mouth as he started to cough up blood. His right hand that had the Ultimate Massive Uzumaki Rasengan twitched in pain which forced the Rasengan to lose its stability as it slowly got smaller and smaller. Soon it dispersed as Naruto legs shook as he was forced onto his knees.
"My strength! All of it is!" Naruto gasped as his orange eyes were glazed over and blood leaked out of his mouth.
This happened in just a few moments but that was enough for the Mountain Shadow Heartless to gather its bearings and locate where Naruto was as it turned it's 'head' towards the weakened Naruto and roared. The Heartless formed the branches again and sent them towards Naruto who appeared to be weakened to the point he couldn't run.
To the Guardians of Light horror Naruto in his Kurama Mode was entrapped in the branches which bound his arms and legs and soon covered the majority of his body including his chest and legs.
"What a turn of events! To think you were moments away from victory but what defeated you was sheer exhaustion!" Terra-Nort exclaimed gleefully even as Naruto glared at him while his body was getting wrapped up in the branches of Darkness.
The Mountain Shadow Heartless grabbed Naruto with its branches and swung him against the ground using Naruto himself as a battering ram leaving a trench as it dragged him along the ground. It dragged him along the floor for abit before it dragged him into a cliff and smashed him into the cliff. Despite destroying the cliff itself it appeared Naruto in Kurama Mode took little to no physically damage as he continued to struggle to get free.
"You won't be beat me like that!" Naruto declared as he growled as his chakra cloak formed several chakra arms that started to push away the branches of Darkness that bound him.
Just as it looked like Naruto was going to break free by sheer brute force dozens of more branches formed out of the Mountain Shadow Heartless body that pushed against the chakra arms. After a tug and war of trying to overpower the others, Naruto coughed again which made the chakra arms weaker and allowed the branches to overpower him and wrap around him again.
"Naruto! He is trapped! At this rate he will be consumed!" Riku yelled as he swung his keyblade at the barrier to no avail.
Soon the other Guardians of Light summoned their weapons and hit the barrier which held strong. They were unable to do anything else but shout as they watched the branches encase and surround Naruto with more and more branches forming.
"Let me… go… you…" Naruto grunted as the Kurama Mode chakra started to recede as the yellow aura vanished showing his peach-coloured skin and his normal hoodie underneath.
Soon the chakra receded completely as his orange eyes returned to Naruto's natural blue eyes showing the Kurama Mode transformation was undone and Naruto was forced back into his exhausted base state. Now that no longer had the chakra mode to resist the branches encased him faster as he legs with wrapped up and then his waist and chest. The branches warped up his chest and started to go up his arms and neck.
Soon all that was left was his right hand and his face as the branches enwrapped him in a cocoon of darkness.
'This feels… just like Obito God Tree transformation of the incomplete Ten-Tails. The darkness is sapping all my strength and making me become part of it like the God Tree tried to do with me during the war…' Naruto thought in realization.
The branches continued to wrap over him as his mouth was covered and nose so only his eyes could be seen showing his exhausted and broken state.
Naruto sent one last look at Kairi with his blue eyes focusing on hers as she shouted something at him which he couldn't hear. He could only see her worry along with his other sisters before the rest of his head was covered up and wrapped in the cocoon.
'I can't hear and see anything anymore… I am feeling nothing… I guess this is it. My fate at the end of it all was to fail... Sorry everyone… I guess I wasn't the saviour after all…' Naruto thought as he closed his eyes and felt his strength fade even more.
Soon all that was visible was his right arm which was pointing towards Kairi as the rest of Naruto was covered in branches.
"Dammit! Is there nothing we can do? Even now we are still trapped inside this barrier! What is keeping us trapped inside? His will or something else?" Roxas shouted in frustration as he once again was forced back despite his dual swing Keyblade strike. He held an Oathkeeper and Oblivion keyblade in his left and right hands respectively.
"We have to keep trying! We can't give up!" Aqua chanted as she swung Master Defender keyblade which too failed to leave a mark on the barrier.
Even as everyone attacks failed to breach the barrier the one who seemed most affected was Kairi as she swung her Keyblade Destiny's Embrace with both hands and kept swinging it even as the barrier did not yield to her strike.
"No! I won't let you go! I am coming! Please just hold out Naruto!" Kairi screamed as she refused to watch her sibling die in front of her.
Kairi then fell to her knees much to everyone else's concern as she looked around seemingly trying to find something.
"Kairi?" Sora asked in concern but Kairi igored him.
"X-blade! I know you are listening right!? Please let me go! I need to save him!" Kairi pleaded as she screamed into the air.
"Please! Don't make me watch as my only family I have left dies!" Kairi pleaded with tears running down her face as she got so desperate she slammed her arms against the barrier. She even slammed her face and hands against the barrier as she cursed her own weakness at this moment.
"Let us save him!" Xion added as she also had tears running down her face.
"Please! He has done enough!" Namine insisted as she slammed her fists against the barrier with tears running down her face.
It appeared to be for naught as the remaining hand of Naruto seemed to lose its peach colour and grow more pale showing Naruto strength fading even more. Just as it seemed all hope was lost there was a ripple of light in the sky.
Before anyone could see what the ripple was, they heard a musical sound.
"What is that sound? Music? At a time like this?" Master Xehanort asked sharply as he looked up at the ripple.
Out of the ripple came a violet blue feather that floated down and drifted towards the Mountain Shadow Heartless. Before anyone could question what was happening the feather drifted and fell onto Naruto's right hand. Naruto hand twitched before it grasped the feather and clenched the fist. There was a visible 'musical note' that appeared from Naruto's hand before he opened it and the note flew into the sky into the ripple.
The music got louder as everyone shared looks of confusion.
"We are all hearing that right? Some sort of soothing... music? And we all saw that feather come out to turn into a musical note we can actually, see?" Ventus asked for confirmation.
"Yes Ven. We are all hearing and seeing that same thing. If we have lost our minds its all of us." Aqua assured him before she looked at the ripple.
Out of the ripple came a bird that had the same violet blue feathers as the lone one in Naruto's hand.
"A bird came out of the ripple and the sounds are getting louder?" Sora asked in wonderment.
Meanwhile inside the cocoon Naruto opened his eyes wearily as he blinked.
Only one thought was in Naruto's mind.
'That sound… This melody… It's… Robin….' Naruto thought as he felt a warmth in his heart and body.
Unseen to everyone else his right hand which was outside the cocoon twitched showing he was no longer exhausted to the point of death.
'Naruto…' A young woman thought as she gazed through the ripple with a solemn expression. The most notable traits about the woman besides her incredible beauty were the two wings behind her ears and the halo hovering above her head.
AN2: Yes this is a Hado Kido spell from the Bleach Universe. If you didn't know from the Kairi Uzumaki story Naruto has been many different universes that exist outside the Kingdom Hearts Universes (which in itself has many smaller worlds). That means he has been to other franchises on his journey which presumably means he has been to an alternate version of the Bleach Universe at some point and somehow he is capable of using Reiryoku (Spiritual Power) to be able to use Kido. Naruto is very special in this story/series.
AN3: For context Lea does believe that Xion and Namine are just as much Naruto's sister as Kairi. Its just Kairi was the only one born from Kushina and Minato along with Naruto hence why she is directly related to Kaguya through Kushina.
AN4: Yes I had in mind Obito's (pretending to be Madara) speech to Sasuke about Itachi's intentions. On how despite Itachi valuing the Hidden leaf Village over his own clan he spared Sasuke showing that he valued Sasuke even over the village itself. Young Xehanort is suggesting that by putting it all on his own shoulder and protecting Kairi, Naruto is doing the same putting her over every other world. Of course that just his opinion and its clear he is trying to break their spirits but there is some truth to his words.
AN5: I am notably not having Ansem Seeker of Darkness or Xenmas particularly cheering on the side of Darkness hinting at their reluctance and showing slight changes to their motivations. Terra-Nort, Young Xehanort and Xigbar are still pretty bad or at least set on their goals which is opposite to the Guardians of Light and Naruto's goals.
