Chapter 12 – Squad 14 VS Space Squad - part 1: The truth is revealed!

Fourteen and the others were on their way back to the island. They were using a vehicle that slowed them down with its incredible speed. It was a car with no doors or windows. It was completely open with three rows of seats. Fourteen was sitting alone. Rachel stared at him, but said nothing. She was still confused about her feelings for him and was turning red as she remembered the confession she had made inside the Atlantis base.

Fourteen, on the other hand, focused on an old memory. Towards the end of the Sis-planetary war, Fourteen and Eighty-Eight had had a nasty fight over an idiotic reason. The two hadn't spoken to each other for a long time.

– What a bastard! Can't he do that properly?! – grumbled Fourteen as he walked around the island.

Fourteen stopped in a secluded spot on the island to be alone. Then he began to calm down and regret what he had done.

– Damn it... I shouldn't have been so hard on him. The stress... of this war. The planning of the counter-attack. The fact that I had to team up with that Space Adult to fight... the teenage rebellion...

Fourteen put it all down on the tip of a pencil and realized that what had happened was nothing more than a combination of things that left him on the verge of exploding.

– "When I exploded with 88, I was so furious that I couldn't think straight. It's like now, but the feeling is different. I confessed to Rachel and I have no idea what to expect. There are certain similarities, of course. I never got an apology from 88... he and the others died in the counter-attack... it certainly scarred me for good... and now, the chances are very high that I or Space Adult... well, at least I'll know whether or not you'll apologize to me when I die, won't I 88?".

Fourteen was still staring at the ocean as he thought about it. Chad and the others had the mission of recovering the base in mind. No one there was relaxed. After all the stories they had heard from Fourteen about ancient wars, where adults killed children on the battlefield and vice versa. The problem would be facing their comrades. Sector Z was used to fighting the neighborhood gang, but now it was different. If they were to fight the Space Adult, they would not only have to fight with everything, but show no mercy.

The Space Adult is not like other adults. He's evil, cruel, sadistic and violent. I knew him in the third generation, what he did to the A-Tlantis sector was just proof of what he's capable of. He brought back the violent and bloody warfare of the first generation, so the Kids Next Door had to reinvent itself. His focus is me. If he eliminates me, I suggest you go back and lock yourselves in the Atlantis base. Even he doesn't know exactly where it is. You'll be able to recruit new kids here and rebuild the Kids Next Door from scratch. But I'll tell you right now: none of you are ready or even a match for the Space Adult. So, if I fall in combat, don't save me or surrender. Run and rebuild. – That was Fourteen's message to the Squadron before they left for the A-Tlantis sector island.

When they reached the platform, Fourteen, now Jayan, led the group to the same elevator they had used to go down. They began to climb, everyone was tense, they knew they were at risk. Even so, everyone stood firm for the challenge ahead.

At that moment, Rachel stared at Jayan. Her mind was still confused as to what she should say to him after his statement. She tried to focus on the mission, but she couldn't do it. It was as if the thought wouldn't leave her head. Little did she know that in Jayan's head, it was also recurring.

Jayan then slapped his foot twice and the elevator stopped before it reached the surface.

– What are you doing? – Chad asked

– Atlantis must be kept secret. – replied Jayan, walking to the wall ahead.

A hatch appeared and opened at Jayan's touch.

– Follow me.

The group followed Fourteen down a long but narrow corridor. They could only walk in a line, which was organized like this: Jayan (Fourteen), Chad (274), Rachel (362), Ashley, Bruce, Lenin, Constance and David.

– What is this place? – Ashley asked.

– One of the thousands of escape routes in case the elevator was discovered or destroyed.

The group walked for a few minutes until they came to a room with four corridors.

– Well, this is where we split up.

– Any suggestions as to which corridor we should each take? – Chad asked

– Excellent question – exclaimed Jayan. – Sector Z, you take the last entrance. Chad, take the third, Rachel the second and I'll take the first. All the exits will lead to the surface on the platform of the old base, mine will be the one closest to the elevator.

– Wouldn't that be dangerous? – David asked

– No, only I have access to these entrances... and now you do too. If anyone is captured or forced thanks to that Space Adult device, just get someone else in here first and say: Computer, seal the entrance.

Everyone nodded. They each went to their entrance to the surface.

– We're going to get Fourteen! – announced Sector Z, then they confidently entered the path leading to the surface.

– We're the Kids Next Door and we're going to save our friends from being slaves! You can trust us! – commented Chad, also confident.

Now there were only Jayan and Rachel left in the room. The two of them looked at each other and then at the entrance where they had to go.

– Fourteen..., Jayan...,

– Be careful, Rachel... – Jayan replied more quickly.

Rachel nodded.

– I..., I have a bad feeling about this...

Jayan turned and walked over to her.

– Me too... to tell you the truth, even now, my legs are shaking. I don't want to fight... I want to run away, far away..., but...

– B-but?

– If the Space Adult doesn't capture me, the GKND will... so... there's no escape.

– Jayan... I wanted to ask you something..., the GKND..., they...

Fourteen took a deep breath

– If you're worried about Nigel, I can only tell you that if he's been with them for a year... by then there's nothing to be done...

Rachel's eyes filled with tears. Fourteen hugged her and comforted her.

– But I could be wrong. From what I've read about Nigel Uno, he would certainly be able to resist the mind control of the Space Adult and probably the GKND. So maybe there is hope for him.

Rachel hugged him tighter, seeking comfort.

– Thank you, Fourteen, for that..., and for everything... I...

Fourteen caressed her cheek and then let her go.

– Know that if anything happens, I'll take my feelings about you to the next world. – said Fourteen to Rachel.

She turned red, but then plucked up the courage to say:

– We will win! And when we meet again, I'll give you my answer. – Rachel replied, standing at the entrance to the corridor that Fourteen had already entered.

Jayan turned and said:

– I can't wait for this, Rachel.

The story will now be divided into four parts/four battles. The beginning of each will be similar, but the conclusion on the other hand... well, you'll see.

As they walked out onto the platform, Sector Z noticed that it was already night time at the base.

– My, how dark it is! – complained Constance

– That's true, but we should stay alert! – replied David.

– Ashley, where should we look? – Lenny asked.

– Just follow me – replied Ashley.

They walked to one of the base buildings. As soon as they entered, the lights went on all over the base, and then they heard it:

– Well, well, well, if it isn't the agents from the Kids Next Door. How do you feel now that you're free? – Slow voices, almost like chanting, announced this.

– Those voices... – Bruce commented fearfully.

– It can't be... – declared Lenny

Slow clapping was heard. Upstairs, near a protective bar, they appeared.

– We're sad that you abandoned us!

– THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! – Sector Z said.

But it was true. There it was: TheDelightful Childrenfrom Down the Lane. Just like Sector Z was when it was cursed, but now they were their own individuals. All five of them still wore their weird, formal clothes. But now, they all wore a symbol on their outfits. The distorted A of the Space Adult.

– Your eyes don't deceive you Sector Z, we are you when you were cooler. Thanks to Space Adult, we're free of each and every one of you.

– This is insane! How could an Adult have enough power to create exact copies of us when we were you?!

– It turns out that the Space Adult has knowledge about many things. He possesses many abilities, many of which you would consider to be unnatural – replied the Delightful Children. They jumped down to face Sector Z. – But this state is temporary.

– Well, that's good news at least. – replied David.

– Unfortunately, we can't exist forever while you're here. The Space Adult was generous enough to give us life, but now we have to deal with our most important mission: you!

The Delightful Children set off to attack Sector Z

– SECTOR Z, SEPARATE! – Ashley shouted.

Sector Z split up as soon as the mob arrived. The five of them now pointed their guns and cornered the kids.

– I don't dream you'll beat us! – Ashley said.

Well, well my sweet darling Ashley. Don't you see? The Space Adult has given us more power!

The Delightful Children split into five. Each of the members of sector Z was faced with their own copy of The Delightful Children. This caught Sector Z off guard. Ashley and the others started the fight.

Chad came out of the entrance and ended up on the slope of the island. After the door closed, he went to the edge and admired the view.

– If only we weren't on this mission, maybe we could enjoy this beautiful view.

Although everything was dark, Chad could see the moon and the sky completely clear, with stars and the arm of the galaxy.

But the beautiful view was short-lived. The base light was turned on and then Chad felt the presence of a person.

– Is that you? Number 60?

– Yes, you traitor, it's me.

Chad turned around.

– How dare you wear that uniform with that number!

– How dare you call me a traitor!

– Time, but that's what you are, you teenage bastard.

Chad got angry.

– I'll have the pleasure of sending you to the DISPENSATION CHAMBER! – He shouted number 60 and ran to hit Chad.

Chad jumped up and activated his two rocket boosters, given to him by Fourteen, while he produced other weapons at the Atlantis base.

– I WON'T BE DEFEATED SO EASILY! – Chad said as soon as he had drawn his weapons and started to take off in the direction of Number Sixty, who did everything he could to get cover against his attacks. When he managed to take cover on a nearby bench, he returned fire with his gun. Number Sixty's shot met Chad's two shots halfway. When they collided, they caused an explosion that covered Chad's view.

– Damn! I can't see a thing. – Chad commented, trying to fly away to see where number sixty was.

Out of nowhere, two missiles hit Chad's thrusters, causing him to fall to the ground with a certain speed. It wasn't enough to knock him out, but he certainly felt the blow.

Chad saw number sixty just ahead. He deactivated the thrusters, stood up and prepared for combat.

– Did you really think I'd come here alone?

Chad was surprised... but just then, he was caught by a rope that quickly wrapped around him, causing him to fall to the ground. When he turned around, with great difficulty, he saw who had done it.

– Interesting Twins from beneath the mountain..., why am I not surprised?

The two are Japanese American twins. A boy with short straight hair, and a girl with two Marias Chiquinha in her hair. They are spies, or were before they became agents of Space Adult. The boy's name is Tom Kenny, and the girl's is Tara Strong

– You know, we weren't interested in joining the Kids Next Door. – said Tom

– But after meeting Space Adult and seeing what he had to offer, it was impossible to refuse his offer. – Tara added

– You bastards! – shouted Chad angrily.

Rachel, with anguish in her heart, stepped off the path and found herself on top of a building. From the top, she could see the base still dark.

– I wonder what the base was like when it was inhabited. – Rachel commented as she tried to see the ground at the top of the building.

The light was switched on, momentarily blinding Rachel. But she could still hear.

– Number 362... we've finally met again, you traitor.

– Number 86? – Rachel asked, trying to see.

When Rachel managed to regain her vision, number 86 was standing there in front of her. There was something different about her. She had dark circles under her eyes, as if she hadn't slept well.

– Fanny! Please don't do that. The Space Adult has completely fooled you. He's using you and the rest of the Kids Next Door for his evil purposes!

– Evil purposes? Please Rachel, don't make me laugh. He's opened our eyes to an enemy more dangerous than you and Number Fourteen! You have no idea what we've done in that short time! – 86 put his hand in his holster as he walked towards Rachel.

– Please, I don't want to fight you. – replied Rachel, with her hand close to her chest, where her license plate was.

– Then surrender! – 86 ordered.

Rachel thought for a while, but then she pressed the license plate and her battle suit, which had been developed by fourteen, was activated.

– I can't do that.

86 screamed and shot her.

Finally, Fourteen had just left. He was near the elevator as he had mentioned earlier. Now he noticed that it was completely dark. He felt afraid. Fear that knew what was about to happen.

The lights slowly came on. He looked around to see who had done it, but the breathing and evil voice of his tormentor already gave him the answer.

– The force is with you, number fourteen... – there was a brief pause.

Fourteen saw where the Space Adult was. His voice and iconic breathing were unmistakable. On a platform above with the stairs below, inviting Fourteen to climb up.

– But you're not at hundred percent yet.

Fourteen turned and started walking towards the Space Adult. He climbed the stairs to stand on the same level as his opponent. He stopped a few meters in front of him. Without saying a word, he picked up a flashlight that was attached to his waist. They both knew exactly what it was. When Fourteen pressed the button, light emanated from the lantern and a wooden sword was generated. It was large and although it didn't look it, it was very, very sharp, as he had demonstrated to the Squadron when he handed over their new armor.

– This is the Saber Lantern. A device created by me. It contains a sliver of the supreme tree at its core. By turning it on, you can control its power and size. It's indestructible and cuts through basically everything.

– Wow, and you created this in such a short space of time? – Bruce asked.

– Not really, it's a first-generation project that I've only just managed to finish. – I've created weapons for everyone, but only mine is set to cut through everything, yours will at most hurt your opponents a lot. It can deflect any shots. – Fourteen added.

Back in the present, Fourteen was sure that the Adult would be impressed by his creation, but was shocked to see that he was carrying a black lantern. When he switched it on, the same light and blade appeared. He pointed it in Fourteen's direction

– "Damn you! How is that possible?".

Immediately after the shot fired by 86, Rachel and Funny clashed. 362 quickly dodged the shot and started firing at her, but she was easily dodging the projectiles. The two were dodging and heading towards each other. When they met, they disarmed each other and began a hand-to-hand fight, they were in close combat. Both were fighting on the same level.

Rachel tried to kick her away, but 86 jumped backwards in a somersault. They stared at each other for a while.

"Number Fourteen took out the device that was behind my neck, all I have to do is turn her on her back and pull out the device..., but after fighting Funny, I realize that her fighting style is no longer the same..., this isn't going to be easy at all."

– So 362? You're giving up? Do you realize I'm not the same person anymore?

– NEVER!

Rachel ran towards her, but Funny was faster and kicked her in the chin. She flew backwards until she landed almost on the edge of the building. A small wall stopped her from falling.

She spat blood and got up quickly.

– Damn!

86 was smiling. She walked slowly towards her and stopped at the same moment. The two heard a noise. Rachel had no idea what it was, but Funny knew exactly what was happening.

– It seems that Space Adult and Number Fourteen are finally coming face to face.

Rachel swallowed the news dry. But she noticed something strange in 86's expression. She was looking in the direction of the sounds with a glint in her eyes.

– Why is she looking that way?

– well, because Space Adult is going to win the fight.

– NEVER! Fourteen will never give up!

86 now noticed something in number 362's tone of voice.

– Well-Well, do you fear for your boyfriend's life? – 86 commented in a tone of mockery.

Rachel was furious and went after 86.

Ashley and the other members of sector z were having a lot of trouble with the kids from down the street.

She in particular used her umbrella to attack her evil counterpart. But no matter how many blows she used, they were all dodged by her opponent.

– What? Is that what you have to offer? – Ashley asked from the crowd.

– SHUT UP – replied Ashley fiercely, using her umbrella to attack her.

Her counterpart picked up the umbrella and hit Ashley mercilessly. She landed three impacting blows: one on her knee, one on her stomach and finally one on her chin, knocking her back a few meters.

– ASHLEY! – the rest of sector z shouted.

They tried to run, but their evil counterparts wouldn't let them. They all knocked them out.

- GUYS! – commented Ashley quietly.

– That was easier than taking candy from a child – the delightful children said together.

– You bastards!

– We warned you that the Space Adult would give us more power, you're the ones who held out against us.

– Damn! We never thought we'd have to fight our counterparts... that's not fair! – thought Ashley, trying not to fall unconscious.

The kids united again. They started walking towards Ashley when a warning sound went off. A device they were carrying was screaming. When it activated, Ashley saw that it was a Hologram of the Space Adult. You couldn't see it from a distance, but it seemed to be pretty upset about something.

– How's it going?

– Our mission has been completed, my lord, sector z will soon be assimilated.

– Excellent! I've almost defeated fourteen, I imagine the other agents are in the same situation, when they assimilate sector z, help the others and meet me at the ship.

– It will be done, milord!

Chad was also in trouble. Fighting the interesting Twins undercover, plus the number 60 to help, was making things more complicated. The three of them were beating the crap out of him, he couldn't even keep his fists up anymore. Number 60 finally kicked him close to the cliff.

– Damn... this... this wasn't supposed to be happening! – said Chad, tired of the fight.

Chad wanted to give up, but just when things couldn't get any worse, they heard something. Someone was approaching them. Chad recognized it right away, and thought that this would be the end of him.

– That's it! One of the teenagers has come, probably dominated by the Space Adult too.

However, instead of landing and arresting him as she had hoped, she shot all three of them, causing them to fall back. She landed next to Chad and revealed herself. It was Cree. She was tall, slim, of African descent, just like her sister, Abigail. She wears her natural black hair in dreadlocks.

– It looks like it's a pretty unfair fight for you, Chad," commented Cree, holding out his hand to him.

Chad took it and she helped him up.

– What are you doing here? I didn't think you'd help me.

– My sister was acting very strange at home. And just when things couldn't get any worse, she disappeared for a few weeks. I used to be a member of the Kids Next Door, but they didn't send agents on such long missions, at least not someone like Abigail.

They both looked at their opponents, who were heading in their direction.

– I went to Dad, since I reported to him as the leader of the teenage ninjas. He told me everything. So I decided to follow the ship's GPS here.

– Honestly, I wasn't expecting that..., thank you.

– Don't thank me yet, we have a fight to win here!

– Right!

Back in time, Fourteen and the Adult were still facing each other, pointing their blades at each other. Then Fourteen threw the first blow, which was parried by his enemy who quickly responded, but Fourteen was quicker and managed to block his attack.

The two of them stood still for a while, until Fourteen pulled the blade back from his head and hit the Space Adult as hard as he could. The blow was blocked, but the Adult was briefly pushed back by Fourteen's strength. He then thrust his blade backwards, causing Fourteen to fall. But instead of striking, he waited.

Fourteen pointed his blade at the Space Adult again. He stood up slowly, without taking his eye off his opponent. He then took large strides towards the Adult, who retreated almost rhythmically. Another step, another retreat. Then Fourteen got tired and threw three blows, which were defended by the Adult.

Now it was the Adult who struck back with three blows, which were defended by number Fourteen.

Fourteen tried to land another blow. He found the Adult's blade, but he simply blocked it and pushed him back.

– You've learned a lot, young man.

– You'll find I'm full of surprises!

Fourteen tried to surprise the Adult by jumping towards him, but he simply kicked him. Fourteen fell down the stairs. He dropped his saber lantern, which rolled away a little.

The Adult jumped from above to land on top of Fourteen. He rolled backwards, but put his blade aside.

– Your fate lies with me, number Fourteen, and you know it's true.

The adult pointed the blade at fourteen.

– No.

He took two steps forward. Fourteen stepped back in response. Then the Adult simply moved his sword from left to right. Fourteen stepped back, but took advantage of the gap to jump over his opponent, who did nothing to attack him. Fourteen recovered his weapon and began to attack his opponent again.

With each meeting of the saber lanterns, Fourteen and the Space Adult clashed fiercely. At least that's what anyone would think if they were watching the fight. In fact, neither he nor Fourteen was being serious. They were both studying the other.

"He's much cleverer than I remembered. The way he imitates my movements, then blocks my attacks..., truly an opponent to my height. I wonder when he's going to start fighting for real..., or is he waiting for me...".

Fourteen's thoughts were interrupted by a strong blow from the Space Adult. He managed to block it, but was startled by the sudden force. His executioner then began to pressure Fourteen with more strong blows. Fourteen could only block them. He didn't even notice that he was being pushed to the edge of the base, where the Space Adult lifted Fourteen's defense and finished him off with a kick, causing him to fall off the platform.

Shortly afterwards, the Space Adult jumped down. Underneath the platform, the ground was cracked from the tremors of the volcano. The Space Adult used his saber flashlight to illuminate the area. It was dark and, even with his helmet, it was impossible to spot Fourteen.

After a while of searching, he got hold of a device and used it to create a hologram. He was calling the kids.

– How's it going?

Our mission is complete, my lord, Sector Z will soon be assimilated.

– Excellent! I've almost defeated fourteen, I imagine the other agents are in the same situation, when they assimilate sector z, help the others and meet me at the ship.

It will be done, milord!

Switching off the transmission, The Adult turned to look for Fourteen, who he was sure was down there with him. He was hiding in one of the many support columns.

– Did you hear Fourteen?

Nothing was answered.

– It's better to surrender while there's still time. – commented the Adult looking for Fourteen calmly.

No response came. Then the Adult turned and blocked Fourteen's attack, which was hanging from the ceiling. He picked him up and threw him to the floor, near a support column.

– Is that all you have to show me?

Meanwhile, Chad and Cree finally managed to defeat number 60 and the interesting Twins. With the addition of the teenage agent, Chad went mano a mano with number sixty, who even with the device behind his neck, didn't stand a chance.

– HOW?!

– It's simple: I'm still the best agent in the KND. – replied Chad, making number 60 take a nap.

Cree had just kicked the two brothers to the number sixty. She touched Chad's hand, which extended into the air.

– Thanks for your help Cree.

– Not at all.

They then heard a small collapse in the distance. They went to investigate.

Rachel and Fofa were exhausted. Both were trying to catch their breath when a landslide occurred near where they were standing. They both ran to the edge to see what had happened. Rachel was distressed, but something told her that it wasn't Fourteen who had been swallowed up by the debris. Fluffy, on the other hand, lost her mind.

– NO! – She shouted cutely as she jumped down to investigate.

– DON'T DO IT 86!

Rachel jumped to save her from falling. They began to wrestle in free fall. Fofa realized that the ground was getting close, so she grabbed Rachel and slammed her boots down. Using thrusters to fly to another building. The two broke the glass and rolled

across the floor of this one. There were lots of desks and papers. It was one of the buildings used by the A-tlantis squadron for research and monitoring volcanic activity.

– DAMN YOU! WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!

– I wouldn't let you kill yourself! – replied Rachel tiredly.

Funny held her by the shirt.

– Did you really think I was going to fall without using the thrusters to hold it? You've gotten dumber in the time you've been with Fourteen.

– Can't I worry about my friend? – Rachel said, her eyes watering.

Funny remained static for a while at the sight of her tears. That was all it took for Rachel to rip the device from her neck. It knocked her unconscious.

– Sorry Funny.

Rachel stood up and looked at 86. She was visibly tired and relieved that her fight had finally come to an end. She then heard a scream echoing through the base.

NEVER!

– Fourteen?

Moments before, Fourteen and the Space Adult had been fighting a fierce battle. Fourteen was using the protection columns to try and protect himself from the Space Adult's attacks. But all to no avail. He cut through everything with impressive ease, but that's what Fourteen wanted.

The Adult managed to land a kick on Fourteen that made him spit blood.

– It's over Fourteen, you and your KND have lost!

Fourteen stood up and used his saber flashlight to cut through the missing column behind him. In doing so. Fourteen caused the ceiling above the space adult to come crashing down.

– Oh no!

Fourteen jumped backwards to avoid being caught. He switched off his blade as he landed. The noise and shock was intense. As the dust settled, Fourteen breathed a sigh of relief.

– At last it's over.

Fourteen started to leave when he felt a shiver run down his spine.

– Do you really think it's over, Jayan?

He heard strange breathing coming from the Space Adult. He noticed that it was damaged. He felt that he could somehow win now, but something was very strange.

The voice. It no longer had that imposing voice of his tormentor that had lulled him for generations. No, this was a strangely young and familiar voice.

Fourteen ran to hide, while the Adult got up and looked for him again.

– Where are you, Jayan?

"His voice has changed..., it looks like...". – Jayan's thoughts stopped when he heard damaged breathing closer to him. – How do you know my name?!

– Well, if you've forgotten, that's not my problem. Our past is older than you remember!

Jayan sneaked to another column further away.

– But why don't I remember? – expressed his thoughts.

– You won't need to remember. Soon you and the others will be destroyed.

The Adult walked towards them slowly, almost with a limp. Fourteen was surprised that he knew where he was.

– You'll see when I defeat you! I'm going to imprison you and then put an end to the GKND forever!

– Even if I succeed... – replied Fourteen – Defeating the GKND would lead to a thousand-year war!

– Don't worry about that. None of the Agents will die of old age. Thanks to my device! – he spoke with a certain pride.

– YOU USED MY BLOOD! IT WAS YOU WHO HELPED ME IN THE ALPS! – shouted Fourteen, indignant at the truth. – You bastard! You took away my immortality?! Is that why I've been getting older?! And I thought I was only growing because I hadn't reached my limit!

The Space Adult laughed in response.

– Of course not. You're the last person alive with this gift. If you die, it'll be the end of everything!

The Adult breaks another support column, pushing Fourteen closer to a lighted exit.

– You cannot hide forever Jayan, come on, give yourself to me. It's the only way to save your friends.

Fourteen could only hear him from behind a column.

– Take a good look at the situation, Jayan: Sector Z will soon succumb to the super delightful children. Chad has no escape, and 362 will lose against 86.

Close to the light, it was possible to see that the Adult's helmet was cracked. The left side was gone, almost revealing part of his face and hair. He closed his eyes and Fourteen did the same.

Ashley's screams echoed through the building. She was being assimilated by her evil version of the kids.

– LET HER GO! – shouted the rest of sector Z.

– Not long now, Ashley. – replied the kids in a chant.

Ashley was about to give in when the doors were kicked in. Chad and Cree ran in and kicked the kids away.

– But what does that mean? – Shouted Chad.

– We don't have time, quickly, help me release the agents. – Cree asked.

They managed to free the rest of sector z, who went to Ashley. She was pale and ill.

– Cree and Chad, I didn't expect two teenagers to come and help the Kids Next Door agents.

– Shut up, you freak! – Cree shouted – I'll send you to hell!

– Wait! – said Bruce with Ashley in his arms.

Bruce looked at the rest of Sector Z. The others saw in his eyes what needed to be done.

– NOW!

Sector Z embraced the super kids.

– You're the ones who will be assimilated!

Suddenly, the kids from the street below started screaming. Their screams were monstrous and frightening. They turned into energy, and this energy entered each of the members of sector z. Even Ashley, who was on the floor, woke up to the new energy he had received.

– What happened?

– We beat them – Bruce replied.

She and the rest of sector z smiled, finally free forever from the curse of the kids.

– Quick guys, I heard someone shouting, it could be Fourteen! – Chad announced.

Back down. The Space Adult was still going on with his speech. He closed his eyes. Not to block out the light, but to feel Fourteen's thoughts.

– Yes, your thoughts betray you! Your feelings for them are strong, especially for..., 362?!

– How...did...he...find out?! – asked Fourteen in disbelief.

– So, you've finally fallen in love? Your feelings have now betrayed her too. You were very wise to hide it from me, now your failure is complete.

The Space Adult came closer to Jayan.

– If you don't surrender to me... then she will die by my hand, just as the A-Tlantis sector!

In an extremely loud and desperate scream, Jayan attacked the Space Adult

– NEVER!

Jayan pushed the Adult with his attacks. Despite blocking most of them, the Space Adult was no match for Jayan's hateful attacks.

They began to appear in the light. Climbing up the remains of one of the buildings there. Jayan was lost in hatred. The memories of the numbers 1, 4, 53 and especially 88 were in his head. The last mission they did at the GKND base in Alpha Centauri. Where he saw 88 and the others die. He always thought it was the GKND.

And now with the threat of killing the girl he was in love with. Jayan couldn't bear the thought of losing her.

The fight progressed to a bridge. Jayan prevented the Adult from using the handrails to support himself. On the second strike, his tormentor lost his balance and would have fallen over if he hadn't held onto the railing. Jayan hit his blade hard. There was a large waterfall below. He then moved the blade out of the way and, instead of disarming him by cutting his hand. Jayan hit his enemy's helmet. As he did so, the helmet was thrown away. The Adult fell, groaning a little, but was still holding his weapon. Jayan was about to deliver the final blow, but was horrified to see who was behind the mask. He fell backwards as memories of the first generation flashed through his mind. The pain was so great that he could only scream. When he stopped, he was almost crying and a name came to mind.

– Naytan...
