In the last chapter Glossaryck of Terms help our heroes open a portal to Eggman's airship Sky Fortress Zone, but as soon as our heroes got to the airship, Orbot already alert Eggman of their presence and put Sky Fortress Zone on red alert. Chapter 11 - Sky Fortress Battle

Sky Fortress Zone, New Mewni

"OH SWEET MEWNI WE'RE WAY HIGH UP IN THE SKY!" shouted Solaria as she and Cream look out of one of Sky Fortress Zone's porthole windows and look down at the ground a thousand feet below. Solaria has been in air as high as the Pony Head Kingdom, but she never been this high up before. Our heroes are gotten on board the airship thanks to Glossaryck opening a portal to Sky Fortress Zone a giant airship based on both Wing Fortress Zone and Flying Battery Zone. The last time Sonic and Tails were on Sky Fortress Zone they caused some damage to it due to air battle against Metal Sonic, causing it to lose altitude as they chased after Eggman and Metal Sonic to the Death Egg mk.2. Both Sonic and Tails know that Sonic, Marco and Solaria may not make it through the Zone's platform sections which most of those sections leads outside of Sky Fortress Zone and they don't want them to fall to their death, so Sonic gather their friends to discuss the plan of attack. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles will go scale through the outside sections to reach the bridge of Sky Fortress Zone hoping to find Eggman while Star, Marco, Solaria, Team Chaotix and Cream stick with the interior sections of the flying fortress to search for Skywynne.

"No doubt Eggman will know that we're on board by now so he will have his robots and defenses on alert, and we don't know how close we are to Eggman's base, so we got to move quick and fast." finish Tails.
"Tails my friend. Those robots or whatever Eggman has on his sleeve will not be a match against Solaria's and Knuckles' brute forces. Sonic's speed, Star's magic, your brains, and our detective skills. Eggman and his robots don't stand a chance against us." said Vector with confident in his voice. "Yeah let's do this, let's find Skywynne and stop the mean old Eggman." shouted Charmy excitingly. Then our heroes spilt up into their two teams to complete their goals on board Sky Fortress Zone.

Meanwhile on the bridge. Orbot and Cubot watch our heroes on the monitors as they follow their creator's orders. They watch as the two teams make their way through Sky Fortress Zone fighting their way through groups of robots and dodge obstacles as they move deeper and deeper into the giant airship as the airship itself heads toward Mewnipolis Zone. Cubot spotted Team Sonic on one of the monitors as they get closer to the area of the ship where Mecha Star will intercept them. He quickly alerts his orb shaped brother to this which Orbot quickly went to a nearby computer terminal to activate Mecha Star to intercept Team Sonic.

"AAAaaaaannnnddddd...done! Mecha Star is online and will intercept Team Sonic in hallway 20." said Orbot triumphantly. As he and Cubot continue watch the monitors watch our heroes' progress. Cubot wondered about something and decided to ask his orb shaped brother a question he has on his mind for quite a while.

"Hey bro?"
"Yes Cubot?"

"I was just wondering and all. We been with Eggman since back when he built that interstellar amusement park, longer than Scratch and Grounder his very first badnik henchmen. So I was thinking, why doesn't Eggman give us more important roles in the Eggman Empire or help in defeating Sonic?"
"Cubot we're just supporting characters. Plus don't you remember Scratch and Grounder's stories when they used to chase after Sonic. I don't want to get smash into piece just trying to capture the Fastest Thing Alive. Also Cubot we do have an important role here, it's to keep this airship in the air and keep it on route to Mewnipolis Zone, isn't that important enough?"

"Um...yeah I guess not falling to our doom is important then capturing Sonic and his friends."
"Indeed Cubot." then Orbot notices on one of the monitors that Star's team is getting close to Skywynne's capsule location on board the airship. "Now if you may excuse me, I must contact Dr. Eggman or Star's approach." and with that both Orbot and Cubot went back to work.

Meanwhile Sonic's team make through about outside platform section of the airship, destroying robots and dodge exhaust burners and finally enter hallway 20. Halfway in the hallway a very familiar robot from Sonic's and Star's second adventure rise from the floor in front of our mobian heroes forcing them to stop in front of it was a force field wall lit up behind Sonic's team and Mecha Star blocking the exits at both sides of the hallway as Mecha Star's eyes lit up ready to fight.

"What the...isn't that Mecha Star that you two and Star fought against? I thought it was destroyed when the Solarian Base blew up?" asked Knuckles remembering back to their adventure on New Mewni when Star, Tails, and Star fought Mecha Star in the Solarian Base. To which Sonic replied. "It is Knuckles, now we know how that egghead built Metal Star, he just couldn't resist in taking this robot home before he went and blow up the Solarian Base even if it these made by Eggman Nega." Suddenly Mecha Star charge at our heroes with the same attacks as it used on Sonic, Tails, and Star back in the Solarian Base except this time Eggman made a few improvements to it. Stronger armor, improve legs, improve speed, and can cast more similar spells to Star's spells.

"Guys watch out!" yelled Tails as he and his friends dodge Mecha Star's own Mega Narwhal Blast which Sonic quickly spin dash at one of the robot's legs and homing attack Mecha Star a few times, damaging the robot a little. "So Mecha Star, you learn some new moves but we'll still going to take you down like the first time. This time you're messing with Team Sonic." said Sonic as jump dash against Mecha Star as Knuckles punch it in the face knocking it back a few feet. "Yeah this time you're also dealing with the Guardian of the Master Emerald you evil robot Star doppelganger." shouted Knuckles as he and his friends charge at Mecha Star.

While Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles fight off against Mecha Star. in another section not too far from hallway 20. Team Chaotix, Solaria, Star, Marco and Cream blast their way through Eggman's robots as they search every room in Sky Fortress Zone looking for Skywynne. They have look in every corner of the giant airship rushing around searching for their kidnapped friend. Finally after destroying about group of robots, Star's team finally entered a large room with the only one capsule in it. Star remember when Rasticore captured Monster Temple with a joint Badnik/Septarian strike force and trapped her parents along with the temple's staffs in a few of these capsules. Star's team carefully enter the room to look into the capsule's small window and spotted Skywynne who noticed our heroes peeking out the window.

"Yes we found her!" shouted Star as she climbs up the capsule to push its switch built on top of the capsule so she can open the capsule as Skywynne quickly shouted. "STOP IT'S A TRAP!" but it was too late as a laser bolt hit the capsule's switch in front of Star, causing her to fall off the capsule while the switch remains undamaged and the capsule still closed as Eggman in his Egg Mobile suddenly hover down from the ceiling as a large claw lower a mech the somewhat similar to the Death Egg Robot but smaller. The mech is called the 'Egg Pulveriser' an upgraded version of the original unnamed mech that Eggman once used on the Northstar Islands years ago.

"I don't know how you got on board my airship from New Monster Town, but it doesn't matter, you want Skywynne back. You have to get pass me first." said Eggman then the Egg Pulveriser's upper body part disattached itself from its lower half, allowing Eggman to pilot the Egg Mobile and attach the mobile into the mech, then the upper half reattached itself to its lower half with Eggman now piloting the mech from the inside and ready to fight against Star's team as electric bolts crawl all over its sphere-shaped hands. Then Star and her friends quickly started attacking Egg Pulveriser, but mech block their attacks and when our heroes were vulnerable, the Egg Pulveriser move its arms and began spinning them around its body as it marched towards our heroes. Solaria to jump onto the capsule to break Skywynne free, but a hidden trap door open underneath the capsule making it fall off Sky Fortress Zone and a Eggrobo piloting another Egg Mobile managed to catch it in mid-air. Solaria stop just in time to prevent herself from falling off the airship as the flying fortress about to fly over a large industrial city like base before the trap door close.

Back at hallway 20, Team Sonic continues their fight against Mecha Star. Sonic is a bit impress that Mecha Star is proving itself a harder challenge then the first time around as he and his friends ricochet off the wall at their top speed while dodging and attacking. Even though its three against one, Mecha Star managed to hold its own against Team Sonic thanks to the upgrades made by Eggman making this fight twice as hard than both Mecha Sonic fights on both Death Egg and Sky Sanctuary Zone combine.

"I must admit, but this fight is more challenging then the first time around in the Solarian Base, it's too bad Star is missing out on all of this." said Tails dodging narwhal energy projectiles alongside Sonic and Knuckles. "Yeah little buddy, but it's time we end this. Ready guys?" asked Sonic which both Tails and Knuckles replied. "Right." then our heroes charge towards Mecha Star and use all of their combo moves and attacks on the robot Star doppelganger as fast as they can. Finally Knuckles grab Tails by his feet who also hold onto Sonic's feet and started spinning around performing the Sonic Overdrive, then Knuckles let Tails who then kick Sonic into the air as Sonic shouted "Blast away!" and unleashing a massive light speed attack on Mecha Star causing some serious damage to Mecha Star for two seconds before Sonic lands back down. Suddenly a chain reaction of small explosions pop around Mecha Star as it slowly shut down before exploding into pieces in front of Team Sonic, seconds later the force field at both sides of the hallway deactivated.

"All right!" yelled Tails. "That was one tough fight." said Knuckles. "Yeah but too bad it all over...for Mecha Star." said Sonic triumphantly as he and his friends look that the remains of Mecha Star but then Tails' M.E.D.E.L device started beeping. Tails pull it out and see Star's name on the screen, like the Miles Electric Pad, the M.E.D.E.L can also act as a communicator and Star is trying to contact Sonic and his friends which Tails patch through. "Hey Star is there something wrong?" asked Tails to which Star replied through the M.E.D.E.L's communicator as the sounds of fighting can be heard in the background. "Yes we find Skywynne, but Eggman was waiting for us and now we need back up, please tell me you're close by."

Tails quickly use his M.E.D.E.L device to do a scan of Sky Fortress Zone to locate Star's team and found their location not too far from Team Sonic's location then Tails said. "Yes we're close by and we'll on our way, just hold out a little longer." "Will do Tails, we're try our best like there's no tomorrow." replied Star before the communication ended as Tails look at Sonic and told him about Star's call for help. "Looks like we don't need to go to the bridge after all, now let's hurry and help out Star and our friends there." said Sonic then he, Tails and Knuckles race to Star's team location.

Star and her friends continue to battle Eggman's Egg Pulveriser mech as they dodge the mech's attacks as Eggman laugh evilly from within the mech impress that his upgraded mech has lasted more longer than the original mech he used back in Bridge Island Zone on the Northstar Islands. Our heroes managed to damage a mech bit by bit when it is vulnerable and even got to use the mech's own attacks against itself. Eggman, fed up of Star and her friends, decided to switch to the mech's phase two mod. The upper part disattached the lower part with Eggman in the upper part as the lower part self-destruct and out of nowhere the mech's arms were quickly replaced with electric spike arms as well using hover engine instead on the back replacing it legs.

"HAHAHAHA! Get a load of this!" shouted Eggman then Egg Pulveriser charged at our heroes which they quickly dodge as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles enter the room joining the battle as Sonic light speed attack the Egg Pulveriser. "Mind we join in Eggman?" said Sonic landing next to Star as Tails and Knuckles spin jump against the mech. "No I don't mind at all your blue rat!" shouted Eggman as he turned Egg Pulversier around and charge at our heroes again. Our heroes dodge and attack Egg Pulveriser now that the mech is vulnerable, but harder to hit due to the mech's electric spike arms. Star and Solaria slide under Egg Pulversier as Solaria rise her sword's tip scraping the mech's bottom as Star quickly got up behind the mech and used a spell called 'Blueberry Cupcake Bazooka', summoning a Bazooka like weapon and fired cupcake shaped energy projectiles at the mech's hover engine which blew it up and launch Egg Pulversier into the wall and the mech exploded on impact as Eggman disattachd the Egg Mobile. Eggman maniacally laugh at our heroes as he hovers toward them.

"You are too late, by now we have arrived above my city base Mewnipolis Zone..."
"Mewnipolis Zone?" asked Marco confused which Eggman replied. "Yes 'Mewnipolis Zone', it's basic the 'Mewni' and 'Metropolis' combined into one word 'Mewnipolis'. I was going to call it 'Neo Metropolis Zone' but it sounded way too long and I already did that with Neo Scrap Brain Zone and since its on New Mewni I figured call it 'Mewnipolis Zone' like you people, the mewmans, did the same with 'Warnicorn', it a good play on words on my part."
"Oh a great play on words. I never thought of coming up with that." complimented Marco giving Eggman a little praise for coming up with 'Mewnipolis Zone' as a name. Even heroes show some respect with the villains when they fight then Eggman continue. "Why thank you Diaz, between you and me coming up with a perfect name for my robots, mechs, and bases. Now back to the topic, as we speak my robots have already delivered Skywynne to my Central Complex above Mewnipolis Zone and my new Power Drainer machine takes all of Skywynne and transfer it into the Master Emerald and the Chaos Emeralds to boost their power and Star's wand to use that energy to open a portal to a restored Realm of Magic. You have lose!" then Eggman quickly push a button in his Mobile. Suddenly alarms rang out across Sky Fortress Zone as a male robotic voice announce repeating, "ALERT ALERT, ABANDONED SHIP! ALERT ALERT, ABANDONED SHIP!"

All across the giant airship Orbot, Cubot and many other robots rushed towards the escape pods and launched their selves off of Sky Fortress Zone towards Mewnipolis Zone below. Then Eggman contacted Sage who is in Mewnipolis Zone. "Sage lock all weapons on Sky Fortress Zone and open fire at it!"
"But father," began Sage through the speaker on the Egg Mobile with a worried voice, "You're still on board and you work so hard to rebuild Sky Fortress Zone."
"A necessary sacrifice in the name of evil and I already got an escape route, now OPEN FIRE!"

As ordered Sage connected herself to Mewnipolis Zone's weapons, arm them at Sky Fortress Zone, and open fired at the airship. Sky Fortress Zone shakes above of heroes' feet as missiles and lasers fired from Mewnipolis Zone's weapons hits the giant airship causing serious damage. Finally a missile hit the engines at the back of Sky Fortress Zone exploding the engines into pieces, without the engines Sky Fortress Zone started to lose altitude and slowly start falling towards the ground. Eggman knows the a small part of Mewnipolis Zone will get destroyed when the airship crash, but it won't a major damage to the Zone itself. He push another button in his Mobile, this time opening the trap door the Skywynne's capsule fell in earlier and Eggman pilot his Mobile into the trap door and flew off Sky Fortress Zone leaving our heroes behind.

Quickly our heroes rush out of the room and down a long hallway to find any escape pods. "Wow Eggman is ready going all out just to make sure we don't foil his plans!" yelled Sonic. "We need to find the escape pods and get off this ship before it could crash with us in it!" yelled Vector as our heroes kept searching for any escape pods. "I have escape death a few times before, but at least this time I'm not trapped in a collapsing dimension, fought off again magic or soul stealing monsters, face off against Mina Loveberry, and no offense Solaria but fight you back in the Solarian Base kind of counts." yelled Star recapping her somewhat near-death experiences from her past adventures which Solaria decided not to comment on what Star said about their epic sword fight focusing on escaping with their lives.

Finally our heroes found three escape pods, possibly the last few remaining escape pods on boards Sky Fortress Zone as the airship plumates towards the ground. "Well this is it these pods will take us down to Mewnipolis Zone below and no doubt Eggman will have all of his robots on high alert once we landed." said Knuckles. "And once we get down there, we won't stop until Eggman is defeat, stop the Realm of Magic from returning and save Skywynne!" said Sonic as he turn to Star.

"This is the final zone and Eggman will throw everything including the kitchen sink at us. Ready Star?"
"Ready in fact we're all ready."

Quickly our heroes step into the escape pods, buckled up and push the launch button. Suddenly the escape pods' hatch close and the pods launched off of Sky Fortress Zone towards the giant metallic industrialized city base of Mewnipolis Zone below. They watch through the pods' window as Sky Fortress Zone crashed into several buildings and exploded on impact while our heroes' escape pods race towards Eggman's base with our heroes goals in mind. To rescue Skywynne, get back the Chaos Emeralds, Star's wand, and the Master Emerald, stop the return of the Realm of Magic, and defeat Eggman.

Mewnipolis Zone, New Mewni

Meanwhile somewhere on top in Eggman's Central Complex, the evil Dr. Eggman placed the last Chaos Emeralds in the slots around a capsule holding the Master Emerald, which the Emerald Capsule holding the Master Emerald along with the Chaos Emeralds is connected to the Dimensional Rebuilder along with connected to the Power Drainer located far below the Complex as Metal Star and a now repaired Metal Sonic watch their creator work, standing beside the Egg Mobile. Suddenly Sage appeared and hover towards Eggman.

"Father, three escape pods just launched from Sky Fortress Zone before it crashed, and I detected lifeforms in those pods. It's Sonic and his friends, they must have escaped and are on their way towards Mewnipolis Zone, should I have the Zone's weapons destroy their pods?"
"No Sage," said Eggman as he started walking to his Egg Mobile with Sage hovering beside him, "let them come, I'll take Metal Star and Metal Sonic to intercept them and give them a run for their rings. I want you to oversee final preparations for both Dimensional Rebuilder and Power Drainer as Skywynne's magic energy is transferred into the Emeralds, and connect the Dimensional Rebuilder's built in wireless dimensional energy transfer to my Neo Egg Emperor, when the portal to the Realm of Magic is open, the Rebuilder will harness the Realm's dimensional energy and wirelessly transfer it into my modified Egg Emperor mech. Sonic and Star thought that modified Death Egg Robot was bad, they'll not survived against Neo Egg Emperor."

"Yes father." replied Sage as she watch Eggman hop into the Egg Mobile and flew away with Metal Star and Metal Sonic to find Sonic and his friends.

Meanwhile far below underneath the Eggman shaped Complex. Two Egg Pawns place an unconscious Skywynne who was slowly regaining conscious in a large human size, cylinder capsule which is connected to the large Power Drainer machine. Once placed inside, the Egg Pawns closed the capsule and another Egg Pawn at the controls began activating the machine. A robotic voice then announceas the machine warms up. "POWER DARNINER ONLINE! ENERGY TRANSFER CONNECTION TO DIMENSIONAL REBUILDER SECURE! BEGINNING POWER DRAIN OF SUJECT IN T-MINS 20 SECONDS!"

As the voice counts down the seconds, Skywynne slowly woke up inside the capsule, somehow she was knocked out and the last thing she remembers was Solaria, Star and their friends fighting a mech. When she opened her eyes she discovered that she's in a different capsule and struggle break free as the voice counting down.

"4...3...2...1...0!"
