Absinthe and Usbegaugh: (an Epilog... of sorts)
A little-known but ambitious writer wrote some tales about
a detective 'duo' with furry tails. He was a bit saddened after
the passing of several pets over the years. Most of them cats.
He busies himself with short stories of mystery. Yes, he does!

One day: out in a parallel universe perhaps? One very similar to Earth...
In a wooded area similar to Wales in Olde England. Modern Day though!

A cat looks long and hard at herself in a tall mirror:
"Oh my! I swear that I was really a Calico type of cat. But I'm Balinese!"
The dog now looks in the mirror too, standing next to his furry Friend:
"Blimey, Absinthe. Seems I am a Great Dane... a dog. Could swear
not long ago, I was either a different dog, or possibly a black and
white cat... This poses a new mystery. Yes, it does. What you say?"
Absinthe, to detective partner Usbegaugh the dog: "Yes, Friend. Aye!"
Usbegaugh: "Abbie... Why did we never notice this 'difference' before?"
"I simply do not know, my Friend..." replied the Cat, rubbing Her chin.
