Thanks for all the support!

Has cursing! probably not super vulgar but maybe a bit descriptive scenes during fights, so blood etc.

Also I'd say it contains suggestive themes? (I won't write a lemon but the buildup and post will be written)

Thanks so much for reading!

Before we begin just a little note: I hate using the full "Naruto Namikaze Uzumaki" thing because it feels forced and weird, but I'm quite unsure on which to use, so I just chose both, sorry if it's annoying :(

Chapter 2: Love! Shadow of Retribution Arc: Part 2.

Obito flicked a drop of sweat off his forehead, landing on the grass.

"Fire Style! Great Fireball Jutsu!" He yelled out, blowing out an abnormally large fireball.

He took a deep breath in, letting it out.

"Kamui!" He yelled, warping his own body.

"Obito Uchiha. You've been summoned." An Anbu member spoke, seemingly appearing from thin air.

"Alright," He responded, nodding, receiving a nod in return. The Anbu member disappeared back into thin air with a puff of smoke.

Obito stood awkwardly in Minato's office, hands shoved in his pockets. Minato had that look on his face. The one that meant something important was coming.

"Obito," Minato began, leaning back in his chair with a casual smile, "there's something we need to talk about."

Obito blinked, tilting his head. "Sure. What's up?"

Without saying a word, Minato reached into his desk and pulled out a neatly folded Jonin vest, setting it on the desk between them. Obito stared at it for a second, unsure if he was seeing things right.

"Hm..?" Obito asked, his tone clear disbelief.

Minato nodded. "I trust this is the right decision. You're capable. You're a Jonin. We'll get you on a squad soon. You'll fight with three other shinobi. All on the same level."

Obito's eyes widened as he scratched the back of his head, trying to process it. "seriously? I didn't think I was even close to.."

"You are," Minato cut him off gently, his eyes sincere. "I know you've had your doubts, but you're ready for this."

Obito hesitated for a moment before reaching out and grabbing the vest. He stared at it like he couldn't quite believe it was his.

Minato chuckled. "You've earned this, Obito."

Obito let out a small breath, slipping the vest over his shoulders. It felt strange, but good. "Thanks, Sensei. I won't let you down."

Minato stood up and placed a hand on Obito's shoulder, his smile widening. "I know you won't."

The room was bathed in the soft glow of early morning light. Kushina lay back against the pillows, sweat beading on her forehead, but her face was calm, a soft smile tugging at the corners of her lips. Minato sat by her side, holding her hand, his face a mix of excitement and support.

Naruto sat on a chair in the corner of the room, patiently waiting.

Kushina looked over to him, chuckling softly, her breath coming in short bursts as she settled back against the pillows. "It's almost over, Naruto. You've been waiting so patiently, huh?"

Naruto grinned, shifting his chair closer.

The doctor and nurse were speaking quietly, but the air was thick with anticipation. A few moments later, the room fell into a silentness that made everything seem as if it were suspended in time. And then, a soft cry broke the silence.

Kushina's heart swelled, and she looked up at Minato, her eyes glistening with tears of happiness.

Minato's breath caught in his throat as he turned toward the nurse, who gently placed the baby in his spouse's arms. His smile spread wide as he looked down at their daughter, her tiny face already scrunching as if she was going to make her own demands.

Naruto stood up, walking over to get a look at his baby sister. 'She's so… small.' He thought to himself, smiling.

"She's perfect," Kushina whispered, her voice full of love.

"What's her name..?" The nurse asked, pen and clipboard in hand.

"Natsumi Namikaze Uzumaki." Kushina answered, her gaze not leaving the baby.

She had a short head of red spiky hair, with bright blue eyes like her father's.

Tick… Tick… Tick…

The metal Uchiha emblem clicked against her teeth.

The girl was so young, yet her stress levels seemed to be so high. Whether it was stressing about strength, academics, death, injury. While the first half came to her naturally, and wasn't necessarily a worry, being a perk of being born the Uchiha heir, she still stressed about it.

Evidence of the stress was already forming on her little cheeks, two lines on each side of her face.

She was an overthinker. Even at such a young age.

She shut her eyes, sitting on the grass in her clans training grounds.

Her father was rarely home, today was no different than the others. She was getting more training in.

Even at a young age she knew her style. Calculated, efficient and overwhelming. Even a mixture of those and precision.

She knew her clan. She knew she was going to be strong as a genjutsu user. She knew her ninjutsu was going to be powerful.

Her own thoughts were interrupted by a subtle cry.

"Itachi! Thirty minutes left of training, okay?" Her mother called out from inside the house.

The cry she heard was of her newly born baby brother, Sasuke.

"Yes mother." She called out. Receiving a smile from Mikoto, who approached.

She pinched Itachi's cheek, speaking in a baby voice. "Who's that getting stronger?" she asked, still in a baby voice, receiving a quiet ouch as Itachi scrunched her face, moving away from the light pinch.

Itachi didn't speak, but she gave her mother big, pleading doggy eyes.

Mikoto laughed softly at her daughter, her smile warm. "Itachi, dear, I wanted to talk to you." Her tone grew more serious, though not overly so.

"You know I'm going to have to focus on your baby brother a lot now, right?" she asked, giving a subtle frown as her gaze flickered toward the infant swaddled in his crib. "He's small, and there's so much he'll need from me. But I need you to understand something."

Itachi tilted her head slightly, her expression calm but curious. "I understand, Mother. Sasuke is little. He can't do anything for himself yet."

Mikoto reached out, brushing a strand of hair away from Itachi's face. "That's right. He's going to need all of us, but especially me. And it might feel like I'm spending less time with you. But that doesn't mean I love you any less, Itachi. You're my first child, my brilliant, kind daughter. You'll always have a special place in my heart."

Itachi's dark eyes softened, her pupils widening just a bit. But she still hesitated. "So… you won't have time for me anymore?"

Mikoto shook her head quickly, leaning closer to hold her daughter's hands. "No, no, never think that. I'll always have time for you. It's just… I'll be a little busier, that's all. But you're so grown up already, and I'm so proud of you. I know you'll understand."

Itachi paused for a moment, her gaze flickering toward Sasuke. "I'll help," she said finally, her voice steady. "I'll make sure Sasuke is safe. I'll be a good sister."

Mikoto smiled, her heart swelling with pride. "I knew you'd say that." She leaned forward and kissed Itachi's forehead. "You're going to be the best big sister Sasuke could ever ask for. And don't you worry when things settle down, we'll have some special time together, just the two of us."

Itachi nodded, her usual composure returning as she glanced at her baby brother again. "He's lucky to have you as his mom," she said softly.

"And he's even luckier to have you as his sister," Mikoto replied, her voice warm.

TIMESKIP, MULTIPLE MONTHS.

"Two students, they're only months in yet they're progressing exceptionally." An elderly man spoke to the group filled with age.

"The Uchiha princess and lord fourth's son." He finished speaking, the whole group was expecting those two names.

"As to be expected. The fourth's son likely has access to multitudes of knowledge and skills like jutsu. The Uchiha princess is within the same boat. They're so young yet so talented." An elderly woman responded, smiling.

"I'm expecting a quick release from the academy for both of them. They'll be on Genin squads in no time. The question is, do we separate them? Or do we place them in the same squad?" He gazed at his paper, searching for candidates due to graduate that year, an early search for squads.

"Separate. You can't have two prodigies on one squad." Another elderly man responded.

"True." The original elderly man responded, looking down at his sheet.

"The problem is this year, multiple kids got pulled out of the academy by their parents post war. So we'd have to let a couple kids pass through even on low scores. We're lucky we have the two to even out squads that would otherwise be weak." A middle aged woman spoke.

"True. Very true. I suppose that's all for the progress check up. Genin teams to be made in approximately three months."

With that, the meeting concluded.

The moon was bright tonight, moonlight hit the two figures standing far from Konoha's unwatched gate.

The light hit an older looking man, he had run down clothes, hardly kept hair and dirt all over his reeking nasty body.

He paused, beads of sweat forming on his brow despite the cool night air. A voice cut through the stillness like a blade.

His name was Tetsuo.

"You're late," the voice hissed out at him, low and menacing.

Tetsuo flinched, turning toward the sound. Out of the shadows stepped Kuro, his dark cloak blending into the night. His sharp, intimidating eyes fixed on the merchant, who took a step back instinctively.

"I… I wasn't sure if I should come," Tetsuo stuftered, clenching his hands. "If anyone finds out I left the village…"

"No one will find out," Kuro said coldly, stepping closer. "Unless you give me a reason to let them know."

Tetsuo swallowed hard. "What do you want from me? You said this was just… just a conversation."

"A conversation, yes." Kuro's tone softened, but his eyes stayed sharp. "You're a seller, Tetsuo. A man who understands the importance of deals. And I am offering you one."

"I don't want trouble," Tetsuo muttered. "I just want to get by. Life's hard enough with all the rules and s-shit... The Hokage doesn't care about people like me-"

"Exactly!" Kuro interrupted, his voice loud. "Minato Namikaze, the great 'Yellow Flash,' doesn't care about you. About anyone, really. He sits in his tower, surrounded by his loyal shinobi, while people like you scrape by! But what if I told you there's a way to change that?"

Tetsuo blinked, his brows moving together. "Change? How?"

"By helping me," Kuro said, stepping even closer. "All I need is information. You hear things, don't you? In your line of work, the whispers of the village reach your ears. Who's being sent on missions, which teams are leaving, when and where…" He let the words hang, watching as Tetsuo's expression shifted from fear to curiosity.

"And what happens if I say no?" Tetsuo asked, his voice trembling.

Kuro's smile was thin and sharp. "I walk away. And you continue to struggle under the Hokage's rule, wondering how much longer you can keep your shop open. But if you say yes…" He leaned in, his voice dropping to a near-whisper. "You'll be rewarded. Generously. Enough to ensure you'll never have to worry about money again."

He flashed more ryo than the merchant had seen in his life.

Tetsuo hesitated, the weight of the decision pressing down on him. He thought about his empty shelves, his growing debts, the nasty looks of wealthier villagers. Finally, he nodded, his voice barely audible.

"What do you need me to do?"

Kuro's smile widened, though it never reached his eyes. "Good. Very good. For now, keep your ears open. Watch the academy. The teams will be announced soon, and I want to know everything about them. Especially…" He paused, his eyes narrowing. "- About the Hokage's son."

Tetsuo's eyes widened. "His son..!? What do you want with him?"

"That's not your concern," Kuro said sharply, his tone making it clear the subject was not up for discussion. "Do as I say, and you'll be well compensated. Fail me…" He let the threat hang, his gaze as sharp as a kunai.

Tetsuo swallowed hard and nodded. "I'll do it."

Kuro stepped back, fading into the shadows. "I'll be in touch."

And with that, Kuro was gone. And the merchant was left already regretting his decision.

MULTIPLE WEEKS TIMESKIP (so many timeskip im sorry)

The silence in the room was loud. Shuffling of papers was the only sound made.

All the classes were moved into one giant room. The school chief was to read out the Genin squads.

"Team 1! Naruto Namikaze, Yozo Uchiha, and Hana Saito. Your instructor will be Akira Yamanaka." Naruto knew Yozo was a loud mouth, arrogant, weak and annoying one. All traits he'd least expect from an Uchiha.

Yozo had hardly made the squad, solely based on the lack of students in the academy that year.

"Why do I get the child!" Yozo yelled out, looking at Naruto, who seemed unbothered.

"Quiet!" The chief yelled out, silencing the boy instantly.

Hana was quiet, she always kept to herself. Those traits Naruto enjoyed.

His eyes moved around the room, where he noticed Itachi's gaze on him, she flashed him a small smile, one he returned.

(-)

"Team 4! Kentaro Fujimoto, Tenma Izumo, and Itachi Uchiha. Your instructor will be Ren Nara." Upon hearing her name, she bit her cheek in anticipation, hearing her group she had no visible reaction, but like Naruto with Yozo, she knew Tenma would be a pain in the ass.

She also noted Kentaro liked her, as did more than half the academy. Although she was younger, she was still a prodigy and strong. In the class she was only rivaled by Naruto, who normally got the better of them.

She noted Kentaro scooting closer as there names were called, a light pink blush touching his cheeks as he moved.

She scooted a little away.

"Obito. Take a seat." Minato gestured to the chair across him.

As Obito sat, Minato began. "I trust you're aware of the recent assassinations occurring within the leaf, correct?" Obito nodded, he had been easing back into combat and missions. But by now he had it back, the rust was cleared.

"We've identified the culprit, and our tracking nin are actively searching for his location, they're closing in. They suspect it's an abandoned village nearby." Obito knew where this was headed.

"And I'm entrusting you with killing him. I want you on this mission alone. No Rin. Are you up to it?"

Obito exhaled slowly, his chest clenched as he responded. "I am."

Minato nodded and opened his files.

(-)

The wind howled across the landscape, sending the tall grass swaying in waves beneath a gray sky. Obito's sharp eyes scanned the horizon, the scent of rain hanging in the air.

His mission was simple.

Find the rogue ninja responsible for several recent assassinations of leaf civilians and kill him. The Leaf didn't tolerate people disturbing the peace, and Kurozai had made a name for himself by brutally murdering anyone who got in his way.

Obito had tracked Kurozai, a former Ninja from the Mist, with help from tracking nin to this area, a small, abandoned village barely a day's travel from the outskirts of the Leaf.

The village had long since been abandoned, but Obito and the trackers suspected it was the perfect hiding place for someone like him.

Obito stood against the wind, his eyes scanning the area with precision. His Sharingan activated, and the world around him sharpened into focus. There. A faint flicker of movement. Kurozai was nearby.

Obito approached cautiously, using the ruined buildings as cover. The rain started falling harder, mixing with the growing tension in the air. He needed to be careful. Kurozai was known for his stealth and ambush tactics, and Obito had to assume the rogue ninja was just as experienced in traps as he was.

As he crept through the village, a faint metallic scent hung in the air, signaling that he was getting close. Suddenly, a kunai flew out of the darkness, aimed directly at his throat.

Obito's eyes widened, and he barely managed to twist his body, the kunai grazing his shoulder as it sped past. His Sharingan flared, and he saw the rogue emerge from the shadows, his face hidden behind a mask, his movements fluid and predatory.

"You're fast," Obito muttered, his fingers twitching toward his kunai pouch.

Kurozai's laugh was bitter and raspy. "You should know that!"

The rogue lunged forward, his twin blades cutting through the air with precision.

Obito dodged to the side, barely avoiding the sharp edge.

But Kurozai was relentless. His strikes came one after another, forcing Obito into a defensive stance.

Obito gritted his teeth as he parried another blade strike, his kunai barely holding against Kurozai's strength. He was good.

Too good.

Obito was forced to leap back, putting some distance between them as he reassessed the situation.

Kurozai was clearly a skilled fighter, and his relentless attack made it difficult for Obito to land a good blow.

Obito cursed, wiping the sweat from his brow. His calm demeanor masked the fact that he was being pushed harder than expected.

Kurozai's eyes narrowed as he moved in again, his blades a blur of motion.

Obito's Sharingan flickered as he sidestepped, his body responding instinctively, but Kurozai's strikes were faster, more varied. Obito was forced to retreat, barely dodging another slash aimed at his chest.

The rogue was too fast for Obito to simply rely on his Sharingan alone. This wasn't a fight he could end with a few quick moves. His enemy was too skilled for that.

Kurozai smiled wickedly, enjoying the challenge. "You're good, but not good enough. You can't beat me."

Obito's mind raced. The rogue's blades were a problem, but his stealth was even worse. Kurozai was always in the shadows, always moving. If Obito couldn't anticipate his attacks, it would be a long and exhausting fight.

Thinking quickly, Obito hurled a smoke bomb toward the ground, engulfing the area in thick, grey mist. His vision turned red as he activated his Sharingan, but the smoke cloud made it difficult to track Kurozai. He had to rely on his senses now, and his body tensed as he waited for any sign of movement.

The rogue didn't disappoint. Kurozai reappeared from the mist, charging at Obito with his blades aimed directly for his throat. Obito's heart raced as he activated his Kamui just in time, warping his body out of space.

Kurozai's attack missed by inches, but Obito wasn't in the clear yet. The moment he reappeared, Kurozai was already on him, his blades crashing down in a series of strikes. Obito barely managed to parry and dodge, his arms aching from the strain. He couldn't keep this up forever.

With a sudden burst of effort, Obito twisted his body, catching Kurozai off guard. Using his momentum, he kicked the rogue away, sending him tumbling to the ground. Obito's breathing was labored, but he had to finish this.

Kurozai slowly stood up, his breath coming in short gasps. He was wounded, his arm was bleeding from a shallow cut Obito had managed to land earlier, and his legs were shaky. But he wasn't giving up.

Obito, however, knew he couldn't let the fight drag on much longer. This rogue was dangerous, and Obito couldn't afford to make any more mistakes.

In an instant, Kurozai dashed forward with a war cry, his blades raised high. Obito's Sharingan flickered, and he sidestepped, narrowly avoiding the strike. He moved fast, appearing behind Kurozai with a kunai already in hand.

(GRAPHIC)

This time, there was no hesitation. Obito's kunai slashed across Kurozai's back, forcing the rogue to fall to his knees. Kurozai gasped for air, the realization of his defeat slowly sinking in.

Obito knelt beside him, his gaze cold but steady. "It's over," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. "You won't be killing anyone else."

With a swift motion, Obito ended the fight, his kunai sinking into Kurozai's heart. The rogue's body went limp, and the tension in the air dissipated. Obito stood over him for a moment, catching his breath and wiping the rain from his face.

(GRAPHIC OVER)

Obito slowly made his way back to the Hidden Leaf Village, the storm still raging behind him. His mission was complete, but it hadn't been as simple as he'd hoped. Kurozai had been strong, and the fight had tested Obito's limits in ways he hadn't expected. But in the end, he had won.

"You didn't even say bye." Rin gave a faux angry look, before hugging him. "I'm glad you're okay.." She ran her hand into his shirt, along his stomach, moving up and down slowly. She looked up at him, her pupils wide.

He looked down into her eyes, his heart beating a bit faster and his breathing speeding up.

"We both just turned eighteen… and I know I gave you a gift but.." She dragged him into her empty apartment, pushing him down onto her couch and locking the door. "I think we both deserve a bit more.."

Her heart was racing, pounding. Her cheeks were red.

The last couple months together, the two had grown closer. And Rin was realizing her feelings more and more.

She was in love.

Sure she had her crush on Kakashi all those years back but she was young, naive in her mind. Blind to who really loved her.

She straddled him and unzipped his vest slowly, allowing the tension to build up in the room.

"Do you wanna…?" She asked, her heart still pounding.

She received a nod.

They spent the night together.
