On Zwei Island's Grand Canyon area, a battle commenced between Hayato and the Savage as the S.K parried off its attack with his sword before he went and cuts off its other claw off the main body.
"deploy! Susanoo!" Hayato exclaimed in his command to his Hundred that flashes and transforms into its Buster cannon form. The weapon expands its support rods and the blade tips expanded to reveal the metal barrels that extended out. "fire!"
The two cannons charged red energy before unleashing a powerful torrent that combined and blasted the Savage into oblivion. Hayato's attack also caused an explosion to occur as it was big and loud that some people miles and miles away could see it.
Hayato looks at the explosion as he soon sighs while his Hundred reverts its form and unequip itself from him then returned to its form as a gem.
"that took care of it." Said Hayato as he turns and saw Sakura with the bus' passengers evacuated into a nearby small cave. "I guess that is a bit safe in a way."
"Hayato! Behind you!" Sakura screamed out as Hayato looks at her confused before he sensed something and quickly equipped his Hundred back on but he was soon hit by a large claw that sends him flying and crashing to a cliff. "Hayato!"
Hayato grunted before he winced in pain as his body felt an unbelievably amount of pain from the claw strike that nearly pierced through his body if his Hundred hadn't completely protected him at the time.
"so…there was more than one, huh?" Hayato grunted as he looks up and saw another Savage that is more larger than the other one. "an Unknown type…"
The large Savage roars before it opens its mouth and started to charge energy within it.
"Hayato!" Sakura screamed out as Hayato got up and his Hundred transforms into its Dragoon form.
"deploy! Yata no Kagami!" Hayato exclaimed as the Dragoons dispersed before they formed a shield that went and clashed against the Savage's fired energy beam that was deflected. "have it back!"
The formed Dragoon shield deflects the Savage's beam attack that went and cut off its claws in a single move.
Losing its appendages made the Savage scream in pain, but it soon looks up as Hayato came flying in the air while his Hundred transforms into a large spear like drill.
"spin! Gungnir!" Hayato exclaimed as his weapon's tip started to spin while he went flying down and thrusts his weapon with the falling momentum. "oryaaah!"
Hayato closes in on the Savage but just as he is close in hitting the location of its core; a pair of large claws blocked his attempt.
"what?!" said Hayato in surprise as the Savage had regrown its claws that is clashing against his weapon. "it regenerated!?"
The Savage roars as it deflected Hayato's attack before it opens its mouth and charged energy then fired a beam at the Savage Killer.
"damnit!" Hayato grunted as his Hundred quickly transformed into its armor form and completely covered its wielder in protecting him from the energy blast that caused a powerful explosion upon him.
"Hayato!" Sakura screamed out as she watches the explosion and soon saw something falling from it. "ahh!"
It was Hayato and he is unharmed, but his Hundred seems very damaged after receiving the energy blast.
Hayato stood on the ground before he fell to one knee. He grunted a bit before he looks up at the Savage that is roaring at him.
"I guess for an unknown type, you just had to introduce yourself, huh?" said Hayato as he got back up before he winced and soon looks down to see a part of his waist is bleeding out blood from the cracks of his armor. "out of all the unknown types; you just had to be a Regenerator type that could pack a punch."
"Hayato! Look out!" Sakura cried out as the Savage roars while raising one of its claws and thrust it straight at Hayato whose armor's shoulder pads moved forward and ignites its inner thrusters in order for the Savage Killer to dodge the attack that hits the ground and cause a big dirt explosion. "Hayato!"
Hayato started to move all around in a zig zag as the Savage strikes its claws down in trying to hit him.
'can't use Mumei's Full power because of me not wearing a Variable Suits!' Hayato gritted his teeth as he could feel himself losing blood the more he moved in dodging the Savage's attack. 'got to get reinforcement to come and get Sakura and the civilians away!'
Hayato jumps into the air to dodge a beam energy attack from the Savage as he soon raises a hand up and a part of his Hundred's arm guard opened up and fired a missile that soared through the air and then exploded into a red flare.
Meanwhile at the Little Garden's Main HQ, Claire with Erica and Liddy came running in as they look at the large screen that showed the signal flare at the area where Hayato is at and is currently fighting against the Savage.
"what is the situation?" Claire called out as she looks at Chris who is currently typing keys on his monitor board.
"we have received a message from Kisaragi Hayato regarding his sightings on several Savages at the Zwei Island's Grand Canyon area!" Chris spoke out while checking the large number of data that he is seeing in his monitor. "and also, we have received an urgent distress signal from him. Location at area W0021!"
"For him to call for reinforcements…" Erica spoke out before she looks at Claire. "what do you think is going on?"
"I don't know." Claire replied while shaking her head. "but if Kisaragi Hayato is sending out a signal flare to us. I believe it might be something bad for us, and the occupants of Zwei Island."
"are you saying that he is in a battle against Savages?" said Liddy to Claire. "but he won't have a problem with that, right?"
"I supposed he won't, but that signal flare worries me." Claire stated before she hears a beep and a message icon appeared on the main screen. "who is it from, Chris?"
"it is from Kisaragi Hayato, Claire-sama." Chris replied while checking the message that played an audio recording that is filled with beeping noises. "it has been sent in morse code. I am translating it right now to the main screen."
Everyone looks at the large screen and saw a translation of the sent morse code.
"large unknown Savage that is a Regenerator, Kirishima Sakura and several civilians are hiding in cave as shelter, unable to fully fight enemy while protecting them, requesting reinforcements…?" said Liddy with a surprised look.
"contact any nearby Slayers and have them head there!" Claire commanded.
"requesting assistance of nearby Slayers immediately!" Chris replied while sending out the signal to any possible Slayers near the location before he turns to look at Claire "but it'll take them a while to get to Kisaragi Hayato's position, Claire-sama!"
"then he'll need to hold the Savage off until they come…" said Claire before she clicks her tongue. "hang in there, Kisaragi Hayato!"
Back upon the battle, explosions occurred everywhere as Hayato flies all around the air before he did a mid air backflip to dodge a claw strike from the Savage that roars and soon fires several beams at the Slayer whose Hundred transforms into a Dragoon type and then formed a shield that blocks the attack.
"tch! Never knew how much of a pain it is to fight a Regenerator when half powered!" said Hayato as his Dragoon detached from its shield form and then flew around while firing beams at the Savage that didn't do anything but stands in its place because the beams bounced off its body. "I'm losing my Energy too…"
Hayato clicked his tongue before his Hundred transforms into a pair of revolvers that he started to fire rains of beams against the alien monster that roars while charging energy and then firing a blast straight at the Slayer.
"damn!" Hayato shouted as his eyes turned golden slitted and he suddenly vanished into a black blur and dodge the energy blast before it could hit him.
"Hayato!" Sakura cried out before she gasped as she saw the Savage Killer in the air before he came down with his Hundred in a large Claymore form.
"take this!" Hayato shouted as he swings down his weapon right on top of the Savage's top and cracked the dome where its core lies within. "I can't reach it?!"
The Savage roars as it strikes one of its claws at Hayato who couldn't defend in time and this caused a part of his side getting the full impact of the strike.
"guhh!?" Hayato grunted as he was soon sent flying and then crashed by a large rock wall.
"Hayato!" Sakura screamed out as she looks at the dust explosion where Hayato crashed as the Savage Killer appeared, but he soon coughs out some blood because the claw strike managed to hit some parts of his internal organs very hard to the point that he nearly puked blood out. "Hayato!"
The Savage roars at Hayato as the man stands up but winced while grabbing his sides as both were bleeding.
"one was a damn pain..but two is just too agonizing!" Hayato grunted as he glares at the Savage that roars once again and started to charge energy within its large jaw. "I got no choice, huh?" the Slayer got up and his Hundred transforms into its armor form. "it's a do or die now.."
The Savage charges more energy in its jaw as a large yellow light started to shine in the area. Hayato readied his hi-tech katana as the blade bursts into a red blaze.
"come on, you shitty lobster!" Hayato shouted. "come and give me your best shot!"
The Savage continues to charge more energy but before it could even fire its energy blast, several energy shots came raining down from above and bombarded its top, causing the alien to misfire.
"that attack…" Hayato muttered out before he looks at a nearby cliff and saw Fritz standing by while equipped with his Hundred. "Fritz!"
"I'm here, too!" a voice called out as a pink blur run pass Hayato who soon sees Retia running by while sending a powerful Energy imbued right hook that hits the Savage's face and made it fall back in a big crash.
Hayato sees the scene before he looks to the side as Fritz jumped down and stood by him.
"We got your SOS, bud." Said Fritz while readying his rifle against the Savage that is slowly rising from the ground. "We came as fast as we could."
"thanks." Said Hayato as Retia came jumping to their side.
"man, you look like hell." Said the brunette Slayer to Hayato. "this Savage must've given you a rough time."
"Regenerator Types tend to do so." Hayato replied with a small smirk. "any idea on the reinforcement from Little Garden?"
"Their ETA is 25 minutes." Said Fritz. "even with the fastest chopper, it's going to take some time for them to get here."
"guess it's just the three of us." Said Hayato as he stood up straight and then turns to look at Sakura who is still hiding in the cave with the civilians. "Sakura! Can you get everyone away from here!? This is going to get ugly, so I want you to take everyone as far as you can and try to contact any local forces for help! Can you do that!?"
"y-yeah! I can!" Sakura hollered back. "but are you sure that you three will be enough against the Savage!? That thing is too strong even for you!"
"that's why we're here, missy!" said Fritz as he readied his riffle as the Savage stood back up. "ugly is back up! better get going! We'll buy you some time! Go!"
"you heard the man!" Retia exclaimed as her Hundred charges energy and the brunette dashes into a pink blur that runs straight at the Savage. "let's do this!"
"go! Sakura!" Hayato called out as his Hundred transforms into a backpack that has missile launchers mounting up on his shoulders and a pair of gatling guns attaching to his arms. "go and get everyone to safety!"
Sakura looks at Hayato before she nods and then started to get everyone to evacuate out of the cave while the three Slayers went on their fight.
"Oryaaah!" Retia let out a battle cry as she dashes straight at the Savage before she swings a powerful kick that strikes against the alien's claw attack that gets destroyed. "Fritz! Hayato!"
"got it!" Hayato and Fritz replied as they started to open fire with their weapons that unleashed missiles and rains of energy blasts that bombarded the Savage in an instant.
Retia jumps back to the two as they watched as the explosion subsides and reveals the Savage nearly decimated with bloody holes, but its body started to regenerate at an alarming rate.
"hey…even for a Regenerator type, it's healing itself way too fast?" said Retia with a surprised face.
"can't judge a book by its cover, huh?" Fritz stated. "its defense is high and so is its attack."
The Savage soon let out a roar before it fires several energy blasts at the three Slayers who jumped away to dodge
"that thing won't stop until either of us are dead!" Said Hayato as he landed while his Hundred transforms into its armor form and the Slayer wields his Katana. "let's go with attack pattern Alpha. Fritz, cover me and Retia who are going to make an opening for its core. We got to put everything to break it!"
"got it!" said Retia and Fritz with a nod.
"let's go!" Hayato exclaimed as his armor's shoulder pads swivels back and the thrusters ignites for him to dash straight at the Savage with Retia following behind.
Fritz readied his rifle and aimed at the Savage before firing three energy shots that bombarded the Savage several times.
The Savage roars before it looks at Hayato and Retia who are on both of its side.
"Retia!" Hayato called out as he soars through the air while his Hundred transforms into a spear drill that he soon threw down straight at the Savage's core that clashed against its dome.
"got'cha!" Retia exclaimed as she jumped and soon came down with a diving kick that connects with the back handle of Hayato's drill that soon spins with her pushing it down with her whole weight. "oryaaahh!"
The Savage roars as their combined attack broke the shell that is protecting its core.
"Fritz!" the two Slayers called out to their snipers who smiles while in the middle of aiming at the Savage's exposed Core.
"Bullseye." Said Fritz before he fires a charged shot that flew and soon hits the Savage straight on the core that breaks and shatters.
The Savage roars before it falls forward and lies dead.
With the Alien Monster now dead, the three Slayers unequip their Hundred that transforms back into gems.
"glad that's over." Said Fritz in looking at the dead Savage.
"yeah…." Said Hayato spoke before he winced and then looks down to see that the bottom part of his shirt and pants were soaked in his blood. "damnit!"
"hey! Hayato!" Retia cried out as Hayato fell on his knees while he grasped his wound.
"hey! Hang in there!" Fritz exclaimed while holding Hayato's shoulder and then opens his shirt to see that the eastern Slayer has a large bloody cut on the right sight of his abdomen. "this is bad.." the Sniper then looks at Retia. "contact Little Garden for an emergency medical care! Hayato is losing way too much blood!"
"r-right!" Retia replied as she fumbles around in her clothes and quickly takes out her phone then makes the call.
"come on, buddy. Lay down" said Fritz as he laid Hayato down and tried to do an emergency first aid on the field. "you're going to be alright."
Hayato grunted and then winced in pain as Fritz rips a part of his shirt and then pressed it against the large bleeding wound on his abdomen.
"Retia! When are they coming!?" Fritz called out to Retia who is still on the phone.
"t-they say that the reinforcements are coming in another 10 minutes!" Retia cried out. "and the HQ is readying an emergency room for when we get him there!"
"tell them to hurry up!" Fritz retorted. "he lost so much blood and his wound is way too big to be closed!"
"r-right!" Retia replied and quickly relayed the information on the phone.
"t-tell them…to g-get someone…to look after…Sakura and the civilians…out there…" Hayato wheezes out as he looks pale.
"I know, just don't talk and rest" said Fritz as he put more pressure against Hayato's wound and looks worried because the blood isn't stopping. "help is on its way."
Hayato huffs his breathing as his vision started to blur and his hearing became dull to the point, he could only hearing muffled sounds from Fritz. Soon enough, the Savage Killer's world slowly turns dark
The time passes on as the next day soon came. We turn our attention to the Hospital where in a room there is the sound of crying coming from inside.
"ONII-SAN, YOU STUPID! I HATE YOU!" Karen's voice cried out from inside as in the room is Hayato and his little sister who is crying very heavily to him. "YOU STUPID! YOU JERK! GO AND FALL INTO A WELL THEN BE FORGOTTEN FOREVER! I HATE YOU!"
"c-come on, Karen…I think that's enough…." Hayato spoke with an awkward and nervous smile as he tries to calm his little sister. "I'm alright, remember? the doctor healed me up really good and fast. I'm okay now, see?"
Karen looks at Hayato for a moment before she puffs her cheeks while her eyes slowly tears up even more which made the Slayer tensed up.
"I HATE YOU!" Karen cried out very loudly as this made passing by nurses, doctors, and patients look surprised.
Hayato chuckled awkwardly as he had been dealing with Karen's cries ever since he arrived to the hospital the day before.
After the fight against the Regenerator type Savage, Hayato had been devastatingly injured from the battle as Fritz and Retia got him evacuated to a Hospital which is Karen's hospital where he gets an emergency surgery to save his life. Thankfully for him; the Little Garden has advanced medical treatment that saved him in the nick of time. And with everything done from the past day; Hayato is now facing Karen who is all angry and in tears from hearing how he was at death's door the day before.
"I HATE YOU!" Karen cried out. "M-Miharu-san! she came to my room last night! She told me that you were hurt! A-And! A-And then told me you were in surgery! You scared me! I was worried!" the young girl started to cry in uncontrollable tears. "Onii-san is a dummy! I hate you!"
Hayato awkwardly smiles to Karen and then did some apologetic bows to nurses, doctors, and patients who came to see what the fuss was all about. Some left immediately while some gave some bows before doing so.
"Karen, come on. I'm alright. No need to cry anymore." Said Hayato as he went and sit on the bed besides his little sister who he pulls into a hug. "I'm sorry for worrying you. Don't cry, okay?"
Karen cries onto Hayato as she hugs him tight while burying her face to his chest.
Hayato sighs with a smile as he strokes and caress Karen's head several times.
While Hayato comforts Karen, several knocks came from the door as the eastern man turns and saw Miharu coming in with Claire, Liddy, Erica, Fritz, and Retia behind her.
"come in." said Hayato as everyone were welcomed in. "sorry about this. Karen is really mad and everything."
"yeah, we can see that, pal." Said Fritz with a smile to see how Karen just hugs Hayato so tight like she didn't want to let go.
"we're sorry to interrupt this personal family visit, but we have something to discuss, Kisaragi Hayato." Said Claire. "It is of an important matter about the Savage that you fought the day before."
"alright." Said Hayato as he tried to scoot off the bed, but Karen hugged him and clings to him very tight. "come on, Karen. I need to hear this."
"no! I don't want to!" Karen cried out. "you're going to get hurt again! I don't want it!"
"I'm not going out on a mission." Said Hayato while stroking Karen's head and then patted her back. "it's just a briefing, nothing else."
"no! I don't believe you!" Karen whined as she didn't want to let her big brother go after knowing that he got hurt the day before.
Hayato sighs while everyone else merely stayed silent with some smiles as it was nice to see a very caring little sister's reaction to her big brother.
"I promise that I won't go on a mission and get hurt, Karen." Said Hayato before he leans down and pecks Karen's head. "I never break my promises, right? I'll be fine."
"Promise?" said Karen as she looks up with puffy red teary eyes. "pinky promise?"
Hayato sighs with a smile before he wipes her tears away and then gave her a kiss on the forehead before holding up his right pinky finger.
"pinky promise." Said Hayato with a smile.
Karen looks at him before she smiles and then intertwines her pinky finger with his.
After getting his sister to calm down, Hayato left the room with Claire and the others while Miharu stayed behind to look after Karen.
"What is it?" Hayato asked as the group were in the end of the hallway for a private discussion between them. "you said something regarding the Savage that me and the others killed? What with it?"
"its core was removed." Claire stated as Erica handed Hayato a tablet that lit up and showed him an image of the Regenerator Type Savage that he, Fritz, and Retia killed but its Core that was destroyed was somehow gone. No remains of it are left. "I believe you can understand how such thing can occur, correct?"
"the Hunters came when we left" said Hayato as he checks and enlarges the image to see that no traces of the Core remained within the dead Savage. "just like Hyenas or condors that gets attracted by dead meat, huh?"
"we've sent Slayers to try and track the Hunters but found no luck." Claire stated in while Hayato gave the tablet back to Erica. "they came to take the Core and then left without a trace."
"why do they even want with a Savage's core anyway?" Retia asked while folding her hands behind her head. "I mean, it's just full of virus juices, right?"
"that's true, but the core is a very important substance in creating a Variable Stone." A voice spoke as everyone quickly turns to see Charlotte coming by with Maimei.
"hey! Are you insane to say that in a public area?!" Claire exclaimed with a stern look at the professor. "and to them of all people!?"
"don't you think there is no longer any point in hiding it from them?" Charlotte asked while tilting her head a bit. "Kisaragi Hayato is Little Gardens' current Captain, remember?"
Claire clicked her tongue before she sighs and then nods.
"let's take this place somewhere a bit more private." Said Claire as she motions for everyone to follow her.
Everyone is now in an empty patient room as the doors were locked.
"continuing on with the statement from Prof Charlotte." Fritz stated. "so a Savage's core can be made into a Hundred's Variable Stone, you say?"
"correct." Said Charlotte with a nod while sitting on a bed with Maimei standing beside her. "the molecular structure between the two items are nearly identical like twins. The two are also the same worth for power and monetary."
"I see." Said Hayato while crossing his arms. "this means that those Three Hunters are working for a company or a nation who wants more Hundred to get more power, huh?"
"a very high possibility." Claire stated in with a nod.
"we've informed this to the national government." Said Liddy. "right now, we're still need of a lead."
Hayato hummed in response while cupping his chin.
"What do you have in plan for this situation?" Claire asked while crossing her arms under her chest.
"for now, we need to collect information of every country's Slayers and companies who employ them." Hayato stated while pointing a finger out. "if we can find some sort of hint of which Slayer has been near the Zwei Island, it will give us a picture on who they are working for."
"searching Slayer's information of other countries and companies is nearly illegal!" Liddy stated. "it violates several treaty clauses and rules!"
"then we ensue a national decree against them." Said Hayato in return. "if they are very against us trying to find those Hunters, it just means that they might be hiding them. Do whatever you can to find the information that we need. Those Hunters got a few Savage Cores in their possession; who knows how many more they have."
"he's right." Said Charlotte. "it only takes at least a week or so to molecularly reconstruct the Core into a Variable Stone. If they have Slayers prepared; we can expect an army of them at some time."
Liddy was about to retort but Claire stops and just nods which made the Vice President looks down in defeat.
"yes…I understand." Said Liddy with a nod.
"furthermore, we need more Slayers on board." Said Hayato as he looks at Fritz and Retia. "we're getting shorthanded these days, and you two are by far on my account. Professionally trained Slayers."
"what does that mean?" said Retia before Fritz went and ruffles her hair.
"it means that our pal here wants us to join the Selection." Said Fritz with a small grin at Hayato who nods with a smile.
"b-but they've only been training for at least 3 months!" Erica stated out. "for any Slayer to be deployed on the field, they need at least a year before being issued!"
"they have only 3 months of training." Said Hayato while looking at Erica. "but they have first hand experiences against Savages. That is very well enough for one to be a full pledged Slayer." He then looks back at the two. "that is. If you guys are up for it."
"hell yes, we are!" Retia exclaimed. "with me on board, those Savages are going to kiss their asses goodbye!"
"and I'll be making sure that you don't over do it." said Fritz while ruffling Retia's head once again.
"hey! Stop that!" Retia shouted as Fritz just chuckled.
Hayato smiles at the two before he hears a few beeps from his pocket as it is his phone getting a mail. He takes the piece of electronic out and checks the mail which is from Sakura.
"this is…" Hayato muttered out as he sees that the mail is a greeting mail and also an invite mail. "invite to where?"
After the hospital, Hayato left to Zwei Island and to the beach near Sakura's hotel where he finds the idol standing by the ocean all alone.
"glad to see that you and the civilians got out safely." Said Hayato as he stands near her. "how are you feeling after facing a real Savage up close?"
"wouldn't it be obvious that I feel scared?" Sakura replied with a smile before she glances at Hayato. "and for the record, that wasn't my first time seeing a Savage up close."
"is that so?" Hayato asked while crossing his arms. "but I guess, that could be true."
"very much." Said Sakura as she looks at the ocean and then started to frown.
"what's wrong?" Hayato asked in seeing her expression.
"do you think I'm really a Singer, Hayato?" Sakura asked as Hayato raises an eyebrow in return.
"you're the Diva of the World, aren't you?" Hayato replied in an obvious tone.
"that's true, but…I'm not a singer of any kind." Said Sakura as she looks down. "I'm a Variant like you, remember?"
"what does that got to do with you being a singer or not?" Hayato replied while shrugging his shoulders. "whether you're a Variant or not, you're who you want to be."
"that's true, but it's also wrong." Said Sakura while slowly looking up at the sky. "everyone says that they like my songs. They say that Kirishima Sakura's songs reach deep into their hearts. but that isn't true at all." She gazes at the sky and frowns. "because of my powers as a Variant, I can affect other people because they all are infected with the Variant Virus. That's why I can touch their hearts, I just tap into that and make everyone feel happy. I'm not a singer, I'm just a deceiver."
"Sakura…" Hayato whispered.
"I'm just a deceiver…" Sakura voice out in a trembling voice while tears started to well up. "my songs aren't reaching anyone…i…"
"they are reaching out to everyone." Hayato stated while taking a few steps near Sakura. "just because of you being a Variant and everyone having the Virus, it doesn't mean that you're a deceiver, Sakura."
"no! I am!" Sakura exclaimed while turning towards Hayato to show him her tears that are sliding down her eyes. "I'm a Variant! And I'm someone whose voice doesn't reach out to people! It just reaches out to Savages!"
"huh? What do you mean by that?" Hayato asked in confusion.
"a few years ago, there was a Savage attack in Singapore where I was going to perform." Sakura spoke out while looking down. "I was pinned down and a Savage was going to kill me. But when I yelled at it to stop and leave. It did what I told it. it understood me. All because I am a Variant and because of the virus!"
Soon enough, Hayato suddenly slapped her as Sakura looks surprised before she looks at the man while gently placing a hand to her slapped cheek.
"will you calm down and think for a second?" Hayato asked with a serious voice. "your voice is reaching to everyone. It doesn't reach to Savage; it reaches out to everyone in the world."
"but…" Sakura was about to retort when Hayato suddenly grabs her by the shoulder. "ah!"
"before you got the virus, you sang to me and Karen, remember?" said Hayato with a serious face. "back then, your song was really good. it reached into our hearts. your song reached very deep into our hearts. that was before you were a Variant, right?"
Sakura looks at Hayato before she slowly nods.
"your voice is reaching everyone fine." Said Hayato as he lets go and stands up straight. "don't think that because you're a Variant, everyone listens to your song. That is false.
